As far as I can tell, you've clearly got the knowledge to tell a good story, you just need to practice until it becomes more intuitive.You'll get better the more you write and you're only slowing your progress trying to polish every 300~ word blurb into gold, instead of writing more. Quantity leads to quality in this case.

Always remember: it's a writers job to enjoy writing itself; not the resulting product. That's your reader's job. And I'm, at least, doing it properly.

In Eva's case, it's a cultural situation, her culture doesn't have gender based issues.

In Maria's case, she simple has no concern for it because that would actually require her paying attention for more than 10-15 seconds at a time. She's litterally so scatterbrained she has no idea about boys, girls, or sexual identity. I turn, throwing an apologetic look at Eriadne and what I hope is a thankful one at Evangelyne. This is just way too much, way too quickly. My routine. Right. Pa would be horrified if I let that slip on the second day. I barely even finished it before I left.
