>Special notice: as of today, it's back to the regular schedule for the foreseeable future

Today is November 3rd, UC 0083. You are Commander Dominic O'Hara, Earth Federation Space Forces, and you're currently in what people in your line of work often call a “fluid situation”. You've partially secured the junkyard owned by Principality loyalist Kelley Layzner, having shot the one-armed man in his good arm. Fortunately for him you're as good a shot with a pistol as you are with a beam rifle: he'll live, if you can get him medical attention soon enough. Rossweisse has the man pinned, Haman is struggling to keep his girlfriend under control without hurting her, and Karen, Carya, and Audrey have the location secured in your unit's three Lilium-type mobile suits.

You've also secured a detonator that Layzner had been holding when you shot him, which he presumably intended to use to destroy the Val Varo mobile armor he has been refurbishing in secret. Flipping your phone back out with a free hand, you call Reiko.

“Patch me through to Karen,” you order, holding the detonator carefully in your off-hand.

“One moment...”

After a few seconds, your secretary manages to put you through to your own machine. “Okay, we've got the perimeter secured,” Karen reports. “We've also got police and EFSF moving in, seems like there's gonna be a pissing match over jurisdiction.”
(1/2)
>>
>>34702819
“I wouldn't trust the local cops,” you hear Audrey's voice. “They've got plenty of Principality sympathizers around here who'd as soon try and arrest US as him.”

Carya or Catrina, you're not really sure which at this distance, seems to disagree. “If we hand him over to the EFSF, we have no guarantees of how he'll be treated.”

“I hate to look at it this way,” Haman interrupts, “but the Val Varo is probably more important to the Principality, the EFSF, AND the local cops than this guy is. We've got to address that sooner rather than later.”

Rossweisse looks down at Layzner as she tears off a bit of his shirt and packs off the wound you gave him. “Nothing personal,” she mutters.

“We could always split the pilot and machine up, or take both ourselves,” Karen points out.

Hmm, for the Val Varo I'm thinking either the EFSF our ourselves, as for Kelley, I'm thinking we take him into custody ourselves. But I'm hesitant to vote since no-one else is here yet.

>Take him into custody yourself
>Turn it over to the EFSF
Use the opportunity to request additional MS suits and pilots to bring team Burning up to full strenght. I think its just him right now.

Sorry, I meant the EFSF *or* ourselves for the Val Varo.

Fuck you, this is why I didn't fucking roll.

Couldn't we wave around our Special Forces card and tell the local EFSF that if they've got a problem, take it up with Admiral Kowen?
That if they REALLY want to stick their noses into a EFSF Special Forces op, they're welcome to, but any backlash is going to be on their heads?
>>
I don't care what we do with the Val Varo except we don't let the fucking cops touch it.

We could use it to get more units for the EFSF, or use it to add a MA to our compliment, or even destroy it so that it doesn't wind up in Zeke hands, but turning it over to the cops is fucking retarded.

Cordon off the area. Do it now. The trick to dealing with politicians and bureaucrats is to wave a bigger dick. Contact Nina and get her to use her Anaheim credentials to secure the VV for 'research purposes'. We can keep the VV in red tape limbo indefinitely if we secure it for R&D.
>>
>>34703147
I think he meant grabbing more conventional GM's and such to fill out our MS compliment, we lost two pilots IIRC, one to court marshal, one to a nuke.

>Turn it over to Nina and Anaheim for "research purposes."

At the very least, they have the equipment to break off the important parts so that no single faction can make use of it all. Or we'll reap the most of it for ourselves with her help anyway.
>>
>>34703199
Yeah, I meant filling out our on roster, as it stands, we don't even have enough MS's for our pilots, increasing our MS compliment as well as the amount of pilots on the roster would definitly be helpful.

Always better to have some spare MS's around to quick-swap if a pilot has to redeploy without enough time to repair their MS, otherwise you end up with Emma Sheen at the end of Zeta.

Even if we don't use the extra pilots that much, it'd be a great way for them to get some 'hands-on' experience outside of the academy, rather than just throwing them into the grinder. Not to mention showing new recruits that not all Zekes are fucking maniacs.
>>
>>34703184
Anaheim Electronics is a *civilian* company. Nina's creditentials are worthless here.
>>
>>34703379
>worthless here

Not with the backing of a Fed special forces team it's not.
>>
>>34703310
I myself want to loan it to Cima. She can get the most use out of it when she pulls a Quisling on Delaz.

Plus Cima points.
>>
>>34702867
Your eyes glint a little with avarice as you make up your mind. “I like where your head's at, Captain,” you reply. “I say we take Layzner AND the Val Varo into custody.”

Layzner gives a single thrash of protest, to which Rossweisse responds with a knee in the shoulder.

“Headache,” she mutters, and it seems true in several ways: not only is Layzner probably going to turn himself into a real pain, but it seems Rossweisse is also in some degree of discofort.

“Where will you take him?” Layzner's girlfriend asks pointedly. “What do you plan to...”

You stifle her with a finger pressed against her lips.

“We're getting him medical treatment and a cell where he won't be beaten or tortured,” you tell her. “So in other words, I plan to give him better than he's earned. You have no say in the matter, so it's best if you keep your mouth shut and let me do the talking when the cops and the EFSF get here...”

You hear sirens closing in on your location, and frown.

“... which seems to be now. Haman, make sure she doesn't do anything stupid.”

Turning to face the local cops as they dismount their motorcycles, you pull out your military identification. For their part, they draw their sidearms.

“Commander O'Hara, EFSF Special Operations. No need for the guns, gentlemen.” The officers don't lower their pistols right away: good thing you've left your phone on.

One of them, the one with the cheesiest mustache, appraises the situation. “I'll be the judge of that, sir.”

“No, you really won't,” a uniformed EFSF MP replies while several of his men dismount their jeep and draw rifles. “This is a military investigation. You have no jurisdiction here.”

“This is my jurisdiction,” the cop snarls. “So far as I'm concerned you soldiers were the ones who created this mess.”

>>34703352
You know what, fuck it, I'm voting strictly for >Turn it over to the EFSF
Simply because I I think that the amount of resources and personell that the EFSF would transfer to us for delviering them such a boon could very well begin to help change the Federation for the better.

More people rotating in means we can form better impressions of ex-Zekes and Newtypes on Feddie personell, and more resources being diverted our way would give us a better position should we decide to split.

Futhermore, our the rep we'd get from this would hopefully help us direct the Feds into being less horribly corrupt and terrible.
>>
>>34703348
>>Turn it over to Nina and Anaheim for "research purposes."
What kind of bureaucratic wizardry could allow you to seize a MA and juste "turn it over" to someone?
>>
>>34703447
Who the fuck are we dealing with? Faurva?

We need to play the Meow game, right meow
>>
>>34703456
Yes clearly giving the feds one mobile armor will change everything.
>>
>>34703456
We won't get recognition for it. We're off the books, remember? Plus the dude wanting to hand it off to Anaheim is stupid too. Have we forgotten that the fatcats and bigwigs in Anaheim and the higher ups in the Fed are corrupt and rotten? I'm shilling again for this, but handing it off to Cima is our best option. She can get the most use out of it when she makes her movie.
>>
>>34703543
It's a fucking start, you have to start from somewhere. If we ever want to reform the EFSF internally, we actually have to get their attention somehow.

The Feddies kept Amuro under house arrest because they saw him as an ICBM, really fucking useful in wartime, but notsomuch outside of it. We need to show the federation that Newtypes can do things *other* than just kill things really well in a MS.

“Ladies,” you interrupt, “you're both pretty. But this is OUR investigation. You'll get confirmation from the Admiralty in a few minutes that my unit has complete tactical command authority. In the mean time, may I have your badge number?”

The cop grudgingly obliges, and aboard the Albion Reiko takes careful note. A minute and a half later, the lead cop receives a call from his Chief.

"What is it... wait, you mean? I see... he what? I... no, sir... no, I just... but they're... yes, sir. Of course sir. I'm sorry for causing you trouble, sir. Yes, sir. My paycheck, sir. Understood."

The police officer, visibly shaken, waves his confused subordinates off. "It seems Admiral Kowen was mad, and convinced the Chief to stand down. Threatened him right in the pension, so you win this round, Commander."

You immediately turn to the Lieutenant in charge of the MPs.

"Escort this man to the Albion, see to it he's given prompt medical treatment. And bring a bomb unit down here. There's a mobile armor that I want cleared of explosive charges."

"Yes, Commander," the MP responds with a salute.

"One more thing," you add. "On the authority of Admiral Kowen, we're commandeering said mobile armor for use against the Delaz fleet. Acknowledge."

The Lieutenant salutes again: as you outrank him, and likely his CO, he has no choice. And given the fact that you've already announced that you're in Special Operations, he's probably too intimidated to voice his objections. "Order understood, sir. I'll see to it the machine in question is delivered to the Albion."

"Hear that, Sergeant?" you ask over the phone. "See about making room, or else getting Kowen to finally fork over a ship for us to use."
(2/3)
>>
>>34703742
As your three machines return to the Albion, you drive a commandeered MP jeep with Haman and Rosse in the back seat. You set a quick pace: Rosseweisse's headache is starting to cause both you and Haman some degree of unease. By the time you get back to the Albion, she's pale as a sheet, and is having trouble walking due to the splitting pain.

"Could be a side effect," Carya whispers quietly as you lay Rossweisse down in her bunk.

You find it hard to just sit back and let this run its course, you have to do SOMETHING. But what?
>Find some over-the-counter painkillers and hope for the best (d100)

So? I'm not going to stay that way forever, since we're not the Lapalce's Box. The more we accomplish, the faster the more likely the Feds will want to publicise us in order to actually rake in the good publicity, and even before then, we'll still get brownie points with the upper Echelon's of the Federation, the ones likely to hold the most power.

There's no one big decisive action that's going to instantly change everything, you have to start somewhere.

>>34703739
No, I merely don't believe we can instantly change the federation in one fell swoop, baby steps, people.

Let's stick with Rossweisse
>>
>>34703796
You walk into the bathroom, grab a towel, and run some cold water onto it.

“It's probably my fault, in part at least,” you admit, placing the towel onto Rossweisse''s forehead. The incidental contact calms her a little, and the pain eases. Not enough to disappear entirely, but enough to bring it down from 'distressing for everyone in the room' to 'tolerable'.

“I understand,” Carya tells you. “I'll stay here a while too, if you'd like. And we'll handle things when you talk with the Admiral.”

“The admiral?” you ask.

The Sisters nod. “Karen was talking about contacting Admiral Wyatt, to try and get him to delay the Naval Review until we can gather enough intelligence to end any possible threat. He's gonna want to see you, unfortunately: Captains and team leaders, along with Nina.”

“Great,” you mutter, ruffling Rossweisse's hair a little with your hand. “Just how I wanted to spend my day.”

It's nearly a half hour before you receive word that the Admiral's call has been patched through. Getting up to leave, you can feel Rossweisse's discomfort rising, but it's kept in check as Haman and the Sisters stay close by.

“Admiral Wyatt,” Captain Synapse greets as you walk in: Nina, Karen, and South are all standing in the room already, looking at the screen with Wyatt's face on it in varying degrees of disinterest.

“Captain Synapse, Captain Joshua. What's the meaning of this interruption?”

“Sir,” Synapse replies. “At the suggestion of Admiral Kowen, we wish to issue our joint report on the capture of the Val Varo, as well as report the progress that's been made on decoding the information captured during the defense of the La Vie en Rose.”

“Very well then, I'll hear your report.” The Admiral sighs and visibly settles into his chair.

>Jamitov

I should not be surprised and yet I am.

How cheap/incompetent do you haft to be to design a warship without the capability to triage injured sailors. It puts a damper on the redshirts' morale if medical treatment is not immediately availabel.
>>
>>34704171
“The decoding team at Anaheim was being headed up by another Zeon mole, as it turns out,” Nina begins. You silently pray for her to speed things along so that you can return to Rossweisse, even though you can feel from here that she's doing a little better than earlier. “He was re-ciphering the data at the end of each day, but luckily one of the backup decoders had a good day and outed him. The other names seem not to match up with any records Anaheim has access to, but Nick Orville's name was also there. We also have photos of the moles, which were set up so the thumbnails looked like pornography.”

“Pornography? I'm half surprised nobody found out what it was sooner.”

“They were images of underaged Indian girls, sir,” Karen replies with a frown. “Nobody wanted to look into it any further.”

“... okay, so now I know why it worked for so long.”

“Anyway, it seems there's a chance that we've stumbled onto a list of Zeon moles,” Captain Synapse concludes.

“Except it sounds like they're only moles at Anaheim,” the Admiral replies pointedly, glaring at Nina.

South looks at you as you shift your weight nervously. He can tell you're contemplating something, but of course he doesn't know what.
>Suggest that Karen release the specifics about the irregularities aboard the Kyongju that Reiko uncovered. It may be significant.
>Keep that under wraps, you don't want the Admiral to suspect how much you may be hiding from the EFSF at this point.
>Make some other argument?
>>
>>34704201
I'm sure there are facilities to deal with regular injuries, but Newtype issues are a specialist case. Outside of Oakland, Murasame and Augusta there isn't anywhere that has the equipment to treat them.
>>
>>34704319
Damn it, I fucking called that the porn was just there to keep us from looking too closely.

What were the irregularities on the Kyongju, again? It's been a while.
>>
>>34703954
Given how worthless your average ship is against a MS/MA, they probably assumed that the ship would be too busy exploding to worry about casualties.

I mean in Loum, it was all the big trend to sink Magellans and Salamii by the handful in fucking Zakus.

>>34704319

"Permission to speak freely and off the record, sir?"

"The Delaz and factions of Zeon are not united. When we were investigating Kelley Lazyner, members of Cima's Fleet contacted us directly and told us so. Call me crazy, but I think they may be willing to work with us. Can you trust me to play this one by ear?"
>>
>>34704326
>Outside of Oakland, Murasame and Augusta
And I'm going to tell you now, none of those places are on your list of things to visit, and if you take your team to any of them there WILL be problems.
>>
>>34704565
Oh. I remembered that, I thought there was something I was forgetting that had to do with a potential mole. Well, that doesn't seem too relevant to the current time, so let's keep it under wraps for now.
>>
>>34704590
Okay, it seems like you don't want to report systematic irregularities aboard one of the EFSF's experimental carriers to the Admiral?

What are people's thoughts on revealing evidence of Cima's potential for working against the Delaz fleet?
>>
>>34704610
I wasn't suggesting it, just stating a fact. I'm not crazy enough to think any of our team (even the Oldtypes) could go to a Newtype lab and not have something bad happen. The absolute best case scenario I can imagine is that we wind up burning the place to the ground and are put on Jamitov's shit list. Well, higher up on his shit list, anyway.
>>
>>34704676
Did Cima ask us to keep it on the down low? If so.... not a peep.
>>
>>34704319
>Suggest that Karen release the specifics about the irregularities aboard the Kyongju that Reiko uncovered. It may be significant.
It should probably be brought up.
>>
>>34704688
Sounds good. I'll bring matches.
>>
>>34704676
Well, when you phrase it like that, sure it sounds bad. I'm just not sure how we'd bring it up. There was nothing about the situation on the Kyongju that said "sabotage" and not just "incompetence", so it seems kind of tangential to the current conversation.
>>
>>34704676
Not to that Admiral, he's a moron. We can tell Kowen later on, but Wyatt wouldn't know what to do with the information. Or without Meta, Kowen is reliable, and Wyatt refused to listen to us when we told him not to gather the fleet together.

As for Cima, I don't particularly see a problem, unless as >>34704702 says, she wanted us to keep quiet about it.
>>
>>34704676
>What are people's thoughts on revealing evidence of Cima's potential for working against the Delaz fleet?
Only frame it the Zeon remnant factions not yet being fully united, and that it may be possible to find one that hates Delaz enough to be usable against him.
Don't mention Cima by name, or that we got assistance from her, yet.
>>
>>34704676
Point out we have a reliable source that states factions of Zeon are not united which can be exploited to great effect if we can root out the ones which can be turned.
>>
>>34704757
This sounds good. Don't just say "We're working with Cima Garahau", but point out that we may be able to use the division among the various Zeon Remnant factions to acquire intelligence assets of our own. Back this up with the fact that the information implicating Layzner was leaked to us, but don't acknowledge that we know where the leak came from.
>>
Are we going to hand Kelley off to Kowen's men for interrogation? We know the Admiral is a stand-up guy. Kelley was friend's with Gato and he outright implied he was before we shot him. Might clue us in as to what exactly may be going on.

Plus we don't want a repeat of the Gato fiasco.
>>
>>34704319
"Off the record, sir?" you ask.

"Under no circumstances," Wyatt responds, and South and Karen both wince slightly. "Continue."

"Two points. One is that we noticed some irregularities aboard the Kyongju... there was an incident where our team was attacked by crewmembers," you explain. "It's possible that the ship has the right kind of atmosphere for a saboteur to operate safely."

"I am aware of the incident," the Admiral replies. "I shall take that into advisement."

Bullshit, you think to yourself. You can see that Karen and South are of a like mind. Captain Synapse's face is unreadable.

"Second, I ran into Cima Garahau earlier today," you continue. This time you notice a twinge in the Admiral's facial muscles that tells you that you've struck a sensitive subject. Despite her surprise at your admission, it's clear Karen noticed the tell too. "It's my opinion she may be inclined to work against the Delaz fleet."

Admiral Wyatt's veneer of calm control seems to return. "I'll be making note of that as well," he replies. "Now, are there any other trivialities you want to bore me with? Did someone forget to clear their plate aboard the Albion? Did one of your pilots get a hangnail?"

"Why yes infact, I did get a hangnail while piloting my mobile suit, sir. I must ask though, why is this information important? Do you care for the safety of your fellow men and pilots that much, sir? I never realized."

Turn up the snark and bullshit to eleven. If he wants to be a bitch, we can subtly jibe him.

>>34705015

Also, Wyatt's not completely oblivious. He would have asked where you were getting the notion of a factional split in the Zeon forces. So instead, smacking him across the face with the fact that we've had contact with Cima to bait a response made sense.

Last time she did that it lead to the loyalist in question committing suicide by Gundam. I think she's a bit hesitant to do that again.

Also, until I read that second sentence, I thought you were referring to our "convert them with the D" strategy. That threw me for a loop. I mean, I'm fine with Dom swinging both ways, but I don't think Kelly would be up for it.

"As it happens I did get a hangnail earlier," you reply. "While your concern is admirable, sir, I feel the situation is well in hand."

The Admiral hangs up after briefly excusing himself from the conversation.

"We're gonna get hit," South mutters. "We're gonna get hit hard."

"Probably," Karen replies. "Captain Synapse, would you mind briefing your crew?"

"Certainly," the older man replies.

"Come on down to our quarters, Commander," Karen tells you. "We're having a meeting, and I'd prefer not to pull everyone away from Rossweisse. So we'll just have to keep our voices low."

You head for Rossweisse and Haman's quarters with Karen, and find your team has assembled. Emary Ounce, who Nina has had busy working overtime to keep your mobile suit compliment in shape, is also there.

"Hi," she tells you. "Long time no see."

"Yeah, I hear you've been busy."

"You have no idea. Nina can be a real slave-driver sometimes."

You chuckle quietly to yourself. "That's fine, I think Uraki needs someone to whip him into shape anyway."

"Even if it involves an actual whip?" Catrina quips.

"Okay, knock it off," Karen mutters. "We've got some new information to go over. First off, we should be operating under the assumption that there will be a mass casualty event some time in the near future: likely involving multiple, simultaneous attacks."

"The Admiral wasn't convinced?" Audrey asks.

"Not at all," you reply.

Haman shakes her head. "Fool. Why pay to have a Newtype out in the field if you won't listen to what he has to say?"

"Anyway, Miss Ounce is here to announce something for Nina," Karen continues.

"Yes, the planned upgrades to the Zephyranthes have been finished, so we have time to start refitting your own machines starting with the Lilium. It'll mount a new psycommu system, and should be ready by the 12th of this month. The others may take a bit longer to complete."

"Thanks, Miss Ounce. Feel free to stick around if you have any time," Karen offers.

"Audrey?" Karen continues. Audrey stands up and hands out a few printouts showing a grainy image of Mars.

"Recent long-range telemetry suggests that the moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos, are being pushed out of their orbits by large-scale thermonuclear engines," she explains. "We also have some evidence of artificial satellites being deployed in numbers around the polar caps."

Haman scowls. "That bastard... is he doing what I think he's doing?"

Audrey nods. "It seems he's trying to start terraforming Mars."

"By crashing moons into it?" Catrina asks incredulously.

"Those two moons are some of the blackest objects in the solar system," Audrey explains.

"So he's reducing the albedo of the martian surface by reducing the two moons to dust, then scattering them over the Martian surface," Carya finishes. "Insane amounts of effort, but it could actually start the process."

"He probably intends to make the surface habitable for easy resource extraction," Catherine hypothesizes.

Reiko doesn't seem so sure. "He could also be setting it up as an agricultural colony," she offers.

"You give that man too much credit," Haman retorts. "He's probably thinking too short term for agriculture to even factor into the decision. It's almost certainly to make it habitable for mining teams."

"Thanks, Audrey," Karen finishes. "Nothing we can do about it now... unlike this report."

Your Captain holds out a file to be passed around the group. "Evidence of movement in the Garden of Thorns. We don't know where he's going, but he's likely preparing an attack."

"Still calling an attack on the Republic," Haman mutters.

"Any idea of how large a force Delaz has? Given the time it would take for Axis units to travel here, and Bernini's scheming, I wonder how many re-reinforcements they've received."

I guess if we got our own ship, we could at this point split up with Burning's team and we've better be able to search for them.
>>
>>34705739
What about the movements of the refugee fleet from Axis?

How far along is the Kaiju upgrade package and can the package be broken down into component parts to speed up production? Thrusters for us, improved targeting computers for our snipers, etc.

What is the ETA on the demolition teams calling in the all-clear for us to salvage the VolksWagen? What is the plan for transporting the VW?

Has there been any increased Zeon military presence or sympathizers?

Oh, now that I think of it Cima said we already had her number, where would that be?
>>
>>34705739
Run the numbers on the data Cima gave us for her fleet. Manpower, current mobile suit compliment, fleet size, types of ships, etc. If we're going to be working with her, best to know what she may use to kill us with. If she gave us data on the 04, check the data on it as well. Can always use more information to continue Frankensteining our suits.
>>
>>34705739
>Questions?
>Comments?
Bernini is terraforming a planet? Seriously? Wow. That's bold. And not at all short term, I think Haman is being blinded by her dislike of the man. Even with using Phobos and Deimos to boost albedo, it's still going to be the work of generations. This isn't something you do to get a quick and dirty resource boost, this is the start of an empire. It's kind of terrifying. I don't want the first true extra-orbital civilization to be full of space Nazis.
>>
>>34705739
"What are the forces involved here?" you ask aloud. "The Republic's defense forces, the Cima and Delaz fleets, and so on?"

Karen shakes her head. "Federation policy has kept the Republic's defense forces anemic. They're using Rick Doms, which are good, but their delivery vehicles are outdated and they're too few and far between to adequately police their Side."

"The size of the Delaz fleet is unknown," Reiko continues. "Last estimate had its full size including auxiliaries and support vessels at less than a quarter of the EFSF's number of capital ships. The Cima fleet is smaller, one Zanzibar and a couple of Musais, but they're Marine troops. They augment the Delaz fleet well."

"Meaning if they switch sides, it's over for Delaz even if he manages an attack that levels the playing field," Audrey concludes.

"I'll continue processing the intel we got from Miss Garahau," Catherine offers.

"And the upgrades for the Liliums? How long until those are ready?" you ask Emary.

She shakes her head. "At best speed, slow. The systems will take a long time to calibrate to a new user, and we're having trouble miniaturizing the Minovsky Searcher. Nina's best guess for shakedown time was some time in December, but if we pooled our resources we could have one ready by Tuesday. Like I offered earlier."

"Possibility of reinforcements and sympathizers complicating things?" you finish.

Haman shakes her head. "One hundred percent."

On that somber note, your meeting adjourns. The rest of the day you spend watching over Rossweisse as she rests.

Today is November 5th, UC 0084. The last two days have gone without incident. Kelley Layzner has so far refused any information aside from that which you already know: Cima was here at some point, and he was refurbishing a Val Varo for delivery to the Delaz fleet. The Val Varo has finally been cleared of explosives and is ready for transport: it will likely take up an entire hangar by itself. Emary, however, wants to take it to the La Vie en Rose with the intention of fitting it with a control setup that would allow a psycommu user to pilot it remotely rather than redesigning the whole cockpit for someone with two arms.

Captain Synapse has also received orders from Admiral Kowen to patrol for the Cima fleet within Lunar orbit, and has elected to follow the Birmingham. His reasoning was that for a man so obsessed with the Naval Review going off without a hitch, it was strange for the Admiral to be taking his flagship AWAY from Earth.

You have a few choices for how to spend the short time before departing Von Braun:
>Interrogate Kelley Layzner (Medium)
>Try to get Kowen to give you your own ship (Hard)
>Try and rig up a way to bring the Val Varo along with the Albion (Hard)
>Write-in
>>
>>34707069
Try to get Kowen to give us at least some escort. I figure a Salamis or two should be easier to swing than a second Pegasus.
>>
>>34707069
Hmm Val Varo funnel. I like.

>Write-in

Can we get Haman to do some more training in the suit, I know, she can ride shot-gun but increasing her awareness will help her reactions too. Other than that, maybe help the techies out and get the suit upgrades done a bit more quickly.

Kowen's not going to give us a ship, and I rather like the Funnel-Val-Varo idea.
>>
>>34707069
Ask Kowen for a second suit. Or, barring that, permission to use the VV until he can wrangle us a second suit. A GM Custom on short notice would be our best bet.

After meeting with Karen, she quickly agrees to let you discuss the prospect of getting a ship for your team prepared. When you contact Kowen, his frown eases into a smile, though you're sure something's still bugging him.

"Sir, I hate to ask..."

"But you need a ship," he finishes your thought.

"Yes, sir."

"Well, I'm REALLY not supposed to be doing stuff like this, but I like you and your team, and it's about damn time Captain Joshua had a command of her own. So I'll give you a few options. The first option is an old ship, a Trafalgar class. She's slow and old: slated for decommissioning, actually. But she has the room you'd need for your suits and that new mobile armor you recovered, and she's ready now."

"Your alternative would be the Valkyrie: a third-flight Pegasus class that's yet to be commissioned. She'd be brand new, and would have similar space, but we have no crew for her. It would take a few days for the ship to be ready. So you'd either need to stay aboard the Albion and leave the Val Varo behind for a while, or leave the Albion below-compliment."

Karen seems open to any and all options.
>We should take the Trafalgar
>We should take the Valkyrie now, the Albion can handle their own affairs
>We'll wait and take over the Valkyrie later: the Albion probably needs us, and the Val Varo can take care of itself

Hmm, Realistically we should aim for the new Pegasus, leave the Val with Anaheim. The Trafalgar class is tempting, but it probably doesn't have ideal mobility and firepower for our needs. And the capacity is for fighters, not mobile suits.

The Trafalgar can take the Val Varo.

>>34707833
The Trafalgar is a huge ship with an enormous carrying capacity, but it's slow and limited to space. The Pegasus class is the predecessor the Albion, fairly fast and can do both space and atmosphere, but it's got limited space and weapon systems.
>>
>>34707924
It's slower than dirt and apparently not as tough as the standard due to massive capacity.

The Trafalgar's compliment varies widely based on the source. It usually carries fighters or bombers.
>>
>>34707889

That's 70-odd fighters actually. I don't think the converted Magellon's had the capacity for that many suits. The main thing is that it is ready NOW while the Pegasus will take time to crew.
>>
>>34707801

Take the Valkyrie, the Val-Varo is to be shipped to La Vie en Rose for Psycommune Controls to be fitted so Haman gets a MA while riding shotgun in the Lilium...
We can do some more training with South's team, maybe have a rematch with Kou... give him a handicap and let him choose which of our suits we should pilot against him...

Yeah, that's the thing. It has a full length flight deck - which is stupidly useful for recovering fixed wing vehicles and damaged mobile suits without a crash net. The Pegasus is the go-to choice in any given situation, but we're on a tight schedule. So the converted battleship would be the best option right now.

If we take the time to transfer, wait for crew, supplies, etc, then the Albion, Nina, Kou, and Kelley have that much higher a chance of invoking Finagles Law while we dick around in port. You can be damn sure the Albion and crew won't stick around and wait while we gear up.

If we take the Trafalgar, we'll also have space to spare to recover Cima's Gelgoogs if one if her ships is sunk.

As tempting as a ship RIGHT NOW would normally be, the Burning team is still down a man after losing Bate. Their remaining team consists of two rookies, an old warhorse, a relative unknown in Chap, and Monsha, whose psychological state after losing his best friend is still questionable.

"I think we should wait here," you tell Karen. "As much as I'd like our own ship the Burning team is just shy of flying apart at the seams. They NEED us, and I'm not going to leave South hanging just so we can fit the Val Varo into our roster."

Karen nods, satisfied. "I was pretty sure that's what you would say. I'm glad I wasn't wrong about you, Dominic."

"So you're turning down the new ship?" Kowen asks incredulously.

"Oh, no sir," you correct him. "I still want the Valkyrie. It's just that I want to help out South and his team more. We can wait, and besides: Emary seemed excited to get the Val Varo back to La Vie en Rose. I couldn't take that from her."

"Very well, Commander," Kowen sighs with relief. "Believe me when I say, it's easier for me this way too. The Valkyrie will be waiting for you when you're ready. In the mean time, I'd suggest you select a few operators for the ship. I'll compile a shortlist of candidates."

With that, the call ends, and you return to the pilots' ready room for a breather.

"Sure," you reply easily. "Though you should probably sortie with your team first, and conclude that business. Then we can square off against each other."

"Sounds good," South replies. "14:00?"

"It's a date."

At 14:00 hours your team assembles in the hangar. Carya sits quietly as you explain the procedure: you want to let Haman and Rossweisse get in some experience, and Audrey wants to test out a new weapon for her own machine. According to her it's going to be a simulation of a blade rifle that can fire physical rounds or beam shots.

Which leaves Haman and Rossweisse to pilot Lilium and Viola, where you and the Sisters will watch them to ensure that there are no issues. Karen, surprisingly, walks towards Rosse's usual suit.

"I need to stretch my legs," she insists. "This should be good fun."

Well, yeah. Char took out five of them because they were on the front line. The Trafalgar is meant to be a supporting vessel and should not be on the front line period. In fact, it should deploy chaff and deploy it's contingent of suits to stand on the hull as AA is worthless.

The main reason I wanted the ship as it's a known quantity. The crew has been blooded in combat and won't be green like the Pegasus we're getting. Plus if it survived the War, then she's gotta have a bit of luck hanging to her keel.

>>

To further add on to the crazy psychic teenage taxi bit, it would also play into the luck I mentioned. It's a whale of a vessel that should have been rightfully cored by a Zaku when she was deployed. And yet she survived against all odds.

The crew might see it as Lady Luck once again.

"Haman, let's work on your maneuvering," you offer. "Carya, Catrina, you can take Rossweisse out for a spin."

Your team salutes, and you eventually launch off the catapult one at a time. Quickly you find that Haman is being pressed by Karen, who opts for a turning match which pushes your Lilium towards its performance limits. While Haman can't nail down Karen's suit, she manages to not only avoid the simulated grenades but a burst of fire from the Viola: Catrina's trying to help Rossweisse improve her deflection shooting skills.

Eventually, under combined assault from both the Viola and Iris, Karen's suit takes a fatal blow: but not before striking for minor damage against both. For someone so out of practice, and unused to high-spec suits like these, Karen did quite well and she knows it.

A shot from your Hyper Rifles knocks out Audrey's machine, which seems to have had some sort of problems with its simulated weapon, leaving you to tangle with the Viola piloted by Rossweisse. The two machines end up in virtual standstill: while you can't quite help Haman compensate for the slower charging times of the Hyper Rifles, Rossweisse is having an equal amount of trouble with the beam machine gun while engaging in turning fights.

Finally, after having Haman split the rifles, she manages to predict Rossweisse's dodging patterns, and catches her with a one-two shot that causes significant enough "damage" to force Rosse and the Sisters to acknowledge defeat.

Meanwhile it seems that the Burning team is having more unusual results: South and Monsha quickly render Chap and Keith's slower GM Cannon IIs harmless, showering them with fire and simply outmaneuvering them. In retaliation Kou takes down Monsha in a spectacular three-way "wagon wheel" engagement by suddenly reversing the turn and closing with his beam saber. Finally, South seems to lose control briefly while trying to keep up with the vastly superior Zephyranthes, giving Kou a free shot.

Yes, exactly, they're not that much younger than us, which is why using language often used by parents to talk about their children would be weird. At best it would come off as mocking. At worst it would sound vaguely oedipal. Well, elektric, since they're female.

But they ARE our children in a sense. They're under a tutelage and command. As their CO, don't you want to see your children tear apart Monsha's asshole?
>>
>>34709749
The Burning team's initial performance is lackluster. South seems to be able to keep up with Karen's Kämpfer until a sneaky shot from Audrey causes him to dodge right into Karen's beam saber. The simulated shot tracks past South and Karen, disabling Monsha's GM Custom.

"Shit!" both men shout into their microphones almost simultaneously.

Using the opening, Rossweisse darts in, and Haman follows her. Two simulated Hyper Rifle shots pass the Viola on either side, hitting Chap's suit and forcing a desperate evasion from Keith. One shot from Kou's rifle nails the Kämpfer's head, causing Karen to withdraw, and a second nearly hits Audrey, who snap-shoots in response to give Karen time to withdraw. What Kou fails to notice in time is that Rossweisse has finished her assault, and has closed in on him.

As a second shot from Haman takes out Keith's GM Cannon, Rossweisse blasts past the Zephyranthes, scoring a few solid hits with her machine gun. As the Zephyranthes turns to line up a shot against the rapidly jinking Viola, a shot each from the Iris and the Lilium end the battle.

"You're just too damn fast," South observes as your suits are recalled to the Albion. "It's a massive advantage, and you pressed it well together."

"Good job letting Rossweisse take the lead," you compliment Haman. "You covered her well."

"And good job, Rossweisse," you add. "You pulled that off perfectly."

Aboard the Albion, you and your team settle in while Audrey discusses what went wrong with her rifle with Nina: apparently it had something to do with the simulated stresses on the feed ramp, and the weapon would need to be redesigned before a prototype could be constructed.

Late on the 5th, the Albion meets with a Columbus-class transport. Mail and alcohol rations are brought aboard, along with more mundane food provisions. Your team, however, receives four large sleds with boosters and fuel tanks attached: these are the “Base Jabbers” you've been waiting on. Attached to one is a small tag, which reads “the best things are worth waiting for”. It's signed simply “XOXO, Defrah”.

November 6th: while on a routine patrol, Kou and Adel have run across a situation in progress. It seems the Birmingham has encountered Zeon ships, which have closed range. The Albion has gone on full alert, and your teams scramble to sortie. The new powered subflight systems are powerful indeed: after launching, it's only estimated that it will take three minutes to meet up with the leading elements of the Burning team, who have already engaged. South, Monsha, and Keith can even ride along on the underside of your sleds.

"They've got a bunch of Gelgoogs!" Uraki replies. "We're outnumbered three to one!"

As your machines close in, you can see the situation more clearly. Several sustained bursts of machine gun fire cause your teams to disperse somewhat, and you can hear South complaining about some minor damage. He was at the center of the formation, and had little room to maneuver as you approached.

"Hold fire," you hear a familiar voice. "O'Hara, is that you?"

"Cima?" you respond. "The hell?"

"You just HAD to show up now," she hisses. "I'm withdrawing my forces, make a show of it!"

Watching one Musai tumble after having been hit by the Birmingham, you notice what had made you doubt the whole situation: Cima's flagship hasn't actually hit the Birmingham, despite their relatively close ranges, and the Birmingham has missed most of its shots as well. The number of bullets from the Gelgoog marines missing your own team seems ludicrous as well.

"Put on a show, but let them fall back!" you order the Albion's suits, careful not to tip off the Birmingham.

Your own team seem confused, but do as you say. On the other hand, you see Monsha line up a shot on Cima's suit... though a short burst from Catrina's beam rifle spoils his aim.

"Sorry," she lies. "You should really try to avoid wandering into my field of fire like that."

After about five minutes of fake fighting, the Cima fleet seems to have gotten away.

The Albion is closing the distance with the Birmingham, but the situation seems clear. Still, you have your own doubts...

"Well, this is only my guess, but I'd say he's angry because someone noticed his transparently obvious attempts at espionage. This incident was a farce, Captain. You really think the Birmingham managed to miss all of its shots from that close a range? No, this fight was just a cover they threw up when your patrol got too close. I'm not sure why he was meeting with them in person, but Admiral Wyatt is collaborating with the Cima Garahau pirates. Given my own interactions with Garahau I'd say he's probably not turning traitor, but he definitely wants to keep whatever he's doing under wraps. He's not doing a very good job of it, though, and it's easier to blame us for that than to improve his standards."
>>
>>34711089
"Sir, it's my belief we interrupted a meeting between Cima and Wyatt. I don't know what they're up to, nor what we should be doing about it," you explain. Karen cocks her head at you, but your Newtype teammates seem to take it a little more in stride.

"So that's why they were more surprised than aggressive," Haman comments. "It makes sense."

"At that range, there should have been a higher hit rate between the two capital ships," Carya points out. "That's what you noticed, right Dom?"

You nod. "Their positioning was all wrong for a surprise attack, or an attack of any kind, and their effort at gunnery was token at best, an insult to my intelligence at worst."

"But what were they doing?" Karen asks. "You're the one Cima contacted in our team. You sure you don't know?"

You shake your head. "She just wanted me to stay out of the way and keep inconveniencing Delaz."

Karen sighs. "Okay, so that's that. Another dead end."

"Hopefully Admiral Wyatt got the information he needed," Audrey offers.

Along the way back to Granada, where you're scheduled to pick up the Valkyrie, you look over the short list of candidates for Operator positions. The names are LtJg Miyu Takisawa, Ensign Noel Anderson, LtJg David Sanderson, and Ensign Jorge Keita. There's little to distinguish the four of them in their service records: all exemplary, but not especially outstanding. The only noteworthy point is that Takisawa and Anderson seem to have met each other at some point.

You're authorized by the Admiral to select exactly two of the candidates. You've also been assured that the new crew of the Valkyrie have been screened by Intelligence: specifically the Colonel who seems to follow your work so closely.
>Vote for your new Operators: two characters, ten minutes to vote. The two with the most votes will win. Then we will move quickly through the shakedown, then skip straight to the Naval Review

Two of them are canon, but from a more obscure source: similar to Reiko and Catherine. The latter two are OC. You select LtJg Takisawa and Ensign Anderson, before passing the dataslate to Karen, who raises an eyebrow.

“I'm going with a theme,” you explain. “Also, they're apparently worked together briefly. Small advantage there.”

The transfer to the Valkyrie is a smooth process. The new ship is well-furnished, comfortable, and clean. Your crew seem competent and high-spirited, and your cavernous hangars are filled by your four mobile suits and the Val Varo. In the process, Kelley Layzner is remanded into Federation custody, and several new pilots are assigned to the Albion to replace your team and Alpha Bate.

South bids you a fond farewell, as does Nina. Kou seems cordial enough standing at Nina's side, and Adel and Keith seem disinterested though not hostile. Monsha turns out, and seems relived to see you go. Emary seems excited to strike out on her own, and will be working with the chief mechanic aboard the Valkyrie: an older man who looks and sounds familiar, but who insists he's never met you.

The bridge is spacious and thoughtfully laid out, and Takisawa and Anderson strike you as fine choices. The former seems much more relaxed, where Anderson comes across as a little by-the-books, though both are professional when it comes to their jobs. As it turns out, Anderson knew Takisawa by reputation, and looks up to her as a role model. The dynamic there is healthy, and goes a little beyond professional cooperation.

In the sick bay, you find a familiar blonde woman: Sayla Mass, who previously interviewed your team. No doubt she's here at the request of Admiral Kowen.

Shakedown lasts until the day before the Naval Review in Low Earth Orbit, and finally the day comes. You find that you and Karen have your choice of deployment for the day:

"Attention," Karen announces. "Today is the big day: the one we've been preparing for. We'll be staying in the fast response flotilla, in case something does happen. I hope to God it doesn't, but in case it does, we need to do our best to handle the situation. There's a lot at stake here, a lot of people counting on us to do our duty. And we're not going to let them down."

"Man your battle stations. And godspeed. Joshua out."

Karen sighs and settles into her chair. "How'd I do, Dom?"

"Just fine," you tell her. Reiko simply puts a reassuring hand on your CO's shoulder and nods in agreement.

"Get down to the hangar and sortie. I want you to be on the scene the second something happens."

"Yes ma'am."

Your team launches in a rather somber mood: Audrey and the Sisters are at your side as you examine the distant procession of naval power, with the Birmingham at the center of the main column.

And that's not long before things start to go sideways.
(1/?)
>>
>>34712973
You see a brilliant white flash that seems to suspend itself in the center of the Combined Fleet, which is soon joined by two more spread through the formation. Each quickly winks out, leaving a blossoming corona of atomic fire that slowly fades to a dull red glow which spreads from one horizon to the other. Some of the ships of the Fleet are destroyed outright, becoming nothing more than shooting stars for the Earth-bound civilians around the hypocenters, while others drift powerlessly as dull violet and red aurora streamers spread from the electromagnetic energy and radiation put out by the blasts colliding with the atmosphere beneath you.

Though all you hear over your comm system is static from the electromagnetic interference, you can still hear dozens of different voices and even more wordless screams. The sensation of so much pain and fear makes you feel as though your head is about to split open
>dammit, did the Zekes set off a nuke? Status report!
>Someone talk to this can't be happening
>shit I don't wanna die like this

>HOLD THE DOOR! DON'T FUCKING LEAVE ME TO
>on Earth, as it is in Heaven
>where in hell is the Nimitz
>there's nothing I can do, I'm sorry... I'm so sorry...

It takes nearly an hour for the auroras and the voices to fade.

Then, once more, silence.

When you land aboard the Albion, you find that the team waiting for you in the ready room is a shambles. Reiko, Karen, and Audrey are all stuck somewhere between rage and grief, but it's your team's Newtypes who are the worst off. Rossweisse is sitting in the corner, crying silently as she holds Haman in her arms... the poor red haired girl has her ears still covered beneath her hands, trying desperately to seal out the noise inside her head. Of your more sensitive companions, the sisters seem to be coping the best... or rather the least poorly. After taking a moment to be violently ill into a conveniently located space-sickness bag, their training and experience have allowed them to quickly recover despite the fact that they're still pale-faced and visibly exhausted from the experience.

Karen looks over the terminal at her desk, visibly shaking with barely-controlled rage. “The initial report is that the Birmingham's reactors were detonated manually, along with those of two other ships... the Sussex and the Gallipoli. An attempt to destroy the Kyongju was thwarted, but their Captain was killed in the defense of his ship. Estimated losses by the fleet are about 25% hull loss with slightly higher casualties, and we've had reports of debris strikes on every continent. Reports are still coming in, mostly minor, but at least four ships have come down in one piece. One in the Empty Quarter, one in Siberia, one in Nairobi...”

Karen's face drains completely of color as she reads the reports scrolling across her terminal. You'll never forget the haunted look in her eyes as the extent of the destruction becomes apparent to her. Disgust, rage, and the despair of total helplessness are etched into her face. Audrey stares at her, dreading the fate of her family on Earth...
(3/?)

“... and Seattle,” she finally finishes.

Audrey seems to relax ever so slightly, though she seems ashamed to have relaxed at all after hearing that another city had been hit: even one which has been depopulated so severely since the War.

Gazing over Karen's shoulder, you see an orbital image of the city of Seattle... or rather the spot where the center of the city used to be. The cruiser that fell there must have still had her engines running, which meant the wreckage came in much faster. There's no actual impact crater so far as you can tell: the airburst alone has leveled most of the buildings in a five kilometer radius, centered just offshore. Trees in the pocket parks are all pointed outwards and away from the hypocenter of the event. You're not sure how anyone in the city could have survived, but there's some evidence that fires set by gas main explosions in the aftermath of the debris strike are being battled at this very moment.

The images from Nairobi are even worse, probably due to a similar situation to the impact event in Seattle. Only in this case, the ship must have been moving at flank speed straight down to have dug such a deep hole. The crater itself must be at least a kilometer or two across, though a lack of landmarks makes judging its exact size impossible, and the blast has reduced much of the city to ruins that glow brightly in the pre-dawn dim. The fires are widespread and rage utterly unabated. The once-densely populated Kibera district is gone entirely, the ramshackle structures of its slums having been scoured off the face of the Earth by the intense overpressure waves of the impact.

Your mind reels in horror as you consider how many tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands or even millions of people are dead or fighting for their lives on the Earth. A part of you realizes you may never even know the true numbers.

Carya tries to help slow you as the two of your bodies come crashing into a nearby chair.

I based the size and effects of the blasts and the altitude loosely off the Starfish Prime shot, including eyewitness accounts. The radioactive fallout will cause mild damage to crops in Africa at worst.

I also used a physics toy I found at... some university website or other to calculate the probable effects of a Salamis class ship crashing to the Earth under various circumstances, using various tidbits from the available source material. Seattle and Nairobi are FUCKED, but the Earth itself should be fine.

>A kangaroo court is a judicial tribunal or assembly that blatantly disregards recognized standards of law or justice, and often carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides.

Australia doesn't exist anymore, bro.
>>
>>34713648
Man, I want to fucking shank you.
>>
Colony drops? Fucking really Zeon?

Unoriginal one trick Space Nazi fuckers
>>
>>34713537
Yup. The original version of Operation Stardust wiped out something like 2/3 of the Federation fleet in one shot, and ended in a successful colony drop on the American midwest, which would lead to drastic food shortages in any continuity not bound by later entries in the franchise.

Believe it or not, things would have been worse (at least for the military) had you not been involved, and would be well on their way to an unparalleled disaster for the human species.
>>
>>34713689
Yeah, my showing during this thread was...mixed, at best. That said, the quote was the first thing that came to mind.
>>
>>34713724
it's more the 'pr0n' and 'j/k' but hearing it from the guy who got us nuked doesn't help.
>>
>>34713721
So how likely is it that these undead Kangaroos everyone keeps mentioning are going to come after us?
>>
>>34713648
There is indeed smut that I feel is actually ready to be read.

Would you like it in a pastebin, as seems to be the accepted standard?
>>
>>34713602
Wow. Thanks for running, Hearts. Every time I think shit couldn't possibly get realer, it does. See you next time, even if I'm going to be a bit hesitant after this. Good job, you magnificent bastard.

sorry, I'm kinda drunk right now.
and yeah, pastebin'll do.
>>
>>34713785
Sure, why not?
>>
>>34713785
Yes.
>>
>>34713795
getting a Starship Troopers vibe there, haha.
>>
>>34713777
Not kangaroos. Drop bears.

>>34713795
If it had come down in Virginia you could have made that ironically.

REMEMBER THE TITANS.
>>
>>34713721
So the 1d4 was how many ships were successfully sabotaged, right? So there was zero chance to not get nuked at all. Damn.
>>
>>34713777
Let's just say you should avoid Australia or zoos in the future.

>>34713772
To be fair it wasn't his fault. It could have been anyone, and it was always going to be sort of bad. The Admiral in question was obsessed with his show of force and dismissive of the threats from Delaz, especially after you and your team handled THREE attempts: the attack on La Vie en Rose, the theft of GP-02, and the capture of the Val Varo.

As for the number of significant debris strikes, you ended up rolling for two that had no real effect, where they could have landed off the coast and caused tsunamis, or blasted major metropolitan areas like LA or Tokyo.
>>
>>34713785
Pretty intense there at the end KoH. Glad you ran at least once this weekend. Don't forget to archive!
>>
>>34713908
yeah, this thread wasn't good for my heart...or my BAC..
>>
>>34713858
The number of secondary debris strikes, as a function of successful sabotage attempts. But as soon as the GP-02 was taken off the table prior to Delaz's speech, the odds of avoiding any nuking grew pretty slim.
>>
>>34713903
>>34714007
If we had royally fucked up, how many more fusion reactors could've pulled a Krakatoa? There was hundreds of ships, dozens of them could've been jury rigged to bath us in atomic fire.
>>
>>34714007
Thanks for clearing that up. Still a kick in the balls, though I'll admit it's a satisfying kick in the balls. We can't win them all, and we've done a pretty good job of winning so far. Having a big dramatic loss like this makes for a better narrative. Gives us some tension.
>>
>>34714007
So this was basically Delaz being petty, then? "Well, I wanted to do a dramatic unveiling of the stolen nuclear Gundam, but these guys went and blew it up before I could. I was going to do this big ironic fate thing, but I guess that's off the table now. Great. So instead everyone just dies, no theatrics, just nukes. I hope you're happy."
>>
>>34714007
Archive is up, as is smut.

Note: I wrote it in 1st person, both to keep it more or less similar in structure to the quest itself, and to make it a little easier to communicate Dominic's thoughts and emotions without resorting to third person omniscient, which I hate using.

Enjoy.
>>
>>34714178
Thanks for running dude.
>>
>>34714178
Cool. Voted on the archive, thanks again for running!
>>
>>34714178
Second person, you mean. And I have no objection to that. Third and first person smut can get weird.

More like it was a gamble. He had no idea how many of his moles would succeed, where having a single strike to put his support behind simplified things a little.
>>34714034
If you'd been fucking up right from the start? Seven, for a total of 8-10 impacts with Earth, each a potential city-killer.
>>
>>34714199
Yeah, second. It's 6:30 here and I'm still fucked up from the 23 hours in transit. Which was why I hesitated to start a thread instead of sleeping, but I figure I'll get caught up somehow.
>>
>>34714219
I had forgotten this song was in Stardust Memory. I'm glad it is, though.

KoH, whats the mood now on earth and in the colonies?
>>
>>34714299
JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT... GODDAMNIT ZEON!
>>
>>34714178
Just got to the part where Haman and Rossweisse are observing Dom and Carrya. And OH MY. I thought it was going to be something funny, and it was, but then it went somewhere else and I'm not at all unhappy about it.

I'm kind of whiplashing here, to be honest. As much as I'm enjoying it, reading this right after "ships fall, everyone dies" is a bit too much of a contrast. I'm getting worked up in all sorts of ways.
>>
>>34714299
On Earth? Widespread confusion and terror. The colonies haven't received word.

Bullshit/10

You can do better.

Completely unrealistic smut. They were in zero-g. They should've done it on the ceiling near the ventilation duct so the noises would've traveled farther.

Faps with your tears of outrage

Tears make fantastic lube. Clearly one of the reasons rape is popular.
>>
>>34714352
The Albion has a centrifuge section, with crew facilities.
>>34714338
Speaking of OH MY, did anyone else notice that there was a Jorge Keita as an operator choice, whose name is basically George Takei but mixed around a little?
>>
Just finished it. Pretty good job, I liked it! lol'd at the part at the end :D
>>
>>34714409
While his Oh My's would have been fantastic Dom always goes for the bitches.
>>
>>34714409
GOD DAMN IT! I didn't notice that at all. I still voted for Keita because I wanted a male crew member, but now I'm even angrier that we didn't get him. We could have had George Takei. Yet another strong emotion to add to the whiplash. It's a mix of anger and libido and bitter disappointment. I am beyond words now.

I was joking obviously. Still, for some unfortunate resident to randomly stumble across a globule of our manspunk down the road would be a story in itself.

Nobody would want to bunk in the room ever again after our escaped and shenanigans became well known. Housecleaning is STILL trying to get the fluids out of the light fixtures.

God damnit autocorrect.
