Previously, on Avatar Quest......

You spoke with your dad and told him you knew what he did. He gave a quick apology, and you accepted his apology while also kneeing him in the crotch. You asked where your mother and Sonyo were, and left once he told you. Both were thrilled to see you, but when you told your mother all that occurred in the city, she became furious that your father sold you out to the Queen. She demanded that you and Sonyo leave the building while she "discussed" things with your father. Of course, you disobeyed her and attempted to stop a fight from breaking out. You managed to do so, but greatly angered your father in the process. You left the settlement and came across Felna, who was practicing her Firebending while Bulo and Galda watched. Soon, the shark turtle arrived, happy to see you. However, soon, your father's soldiers arrived as well, telling you that your father ordered your arrest for treason. You surrendered, the others doing the same, and you were thrown into prison. You argued with your father about what he was doing before turning his guards against him, resulting in him killing them. You and your father fiercely battled before he managed the incredible feat of opening a massive pit beneath the prison, sending you falling into the abyss. You woke up sometime later, and quickly fell back to sleep, being greeted by the sight of the previous three Avatars

>Welcome to Avatar Quest. Here are the rules.

Decisions are made by vote. Each vote has a ten minute interval, after which, the option that receives the most votes it the one that is chosen.

There are no write-ins unless explicitly stated

Some options require rolls. In that event, rolls will be out of 100. Whether rolls succeed or fail is decided by the first three rolls. If one passes, then you succeed regardless of the other two. Rolls will really only occur during training, or when trying something new.
All decisions are final. If you regret voting for something, too bad. Think carefully before you make decisions.

Try to keep waifu bullshit to a minimum.

You're just so tired. You need to sleep. So, you close your eyes and let the darkness take you.

When the next site you see is your predecessors standing side by side and watching you with sad expressions, you know that you have died.

Well, at least you remember your name.

"You're not dead," your predecessor says.

"Getting some sleep was a smart move," Gonyo tells you.

"Yeah, not sure why you think you're dead," your predecessor comments. "What kind of idiot told you sleeping with a concussion was a bad thing?"

"Look, the point I, you came close to getting killed," Avatar Wan tells you. "Try not to monologue so much during fights."

"Your father still needs to be stopped," Gonyo reminds you. "Are you ready to wake up and face him?"

You're ready to face your father, and so you wake up.

You are still in the pit, and notice a few things immediately. First of all, the pit isn't nearly as deep as you thought. You can see the top of it just fine. Second, your head feels much better, and you seem to have far more energy.

It would be a simple matter to Earthbend out of the pit, but if your father is still at the top, he could attack you before you get your bearings.

As you consider this, some rage-filled yells grab your attention. The voices sound familiar, and you suddenly feel confident that your father already has his hands full.

Stomping on the ground and thrusting your fists skyward, you raise yourself out of the pit on a pillar of sand. As you reach the top, you see the source of the commotion.

Your father is under attack, moving quickly backwards as his foes pursue him. Felna unleashes a powerful blast of flame from her right fist that your father rolls to avoid, ending up in a crouch and stomping the ground, thrusting his fists downward and dropping Felna into a pit.

He quickly thrusts his fists upwards and begins to raise himself on a pillar of sand.

As Bulo raises Felna from the pit, Sonyo stomps on the ground and thrusts his fists towards the pillar, breaking it at the base and causing your father to fall. Your mother throws a sandblast at him as he falls, throwing him back several feet and causing him to crash on the ground.

He gets to his feet as Galda and Lee move swiftly towards him. He hurls some sand blasts their way, but the siblings easily dodge his attacks. Galda reaches him first, and lets out a hateful yell as the slashes at his throat. Your father shifts, causing Galda to miss her target.

Unfortunately for him, she still cuts deeply into his left cheek and across the side of his face.

As your father screams in pain, Lee delivers a flurry of swift strikes that leave your father sprawling on his back. He slams his elbow into the ground next to him, creating an angular wall of sand over himself, guarding him from any attacks from the front of below.

Galda and Lee begin to move around, when Felna rushes in their direction.

"Get out of my way!" she commands her siblings, who quickly do so.

Felna lets out a hateful yell to match her sister's as she thrusts her fists forward, unleashing the largest, most powerful torrent of flame you have ever seen her bend. Your father's little wall is wiped out in an instant, and had your father still been there, his death would have been certain.

However, when Felna halts her attack, yo-

Her body stiffens, and her head slowly turns for her to look at you. The others quickly turn to face you as well, all of them quickly running to you. Felna throws her arms around you and hugs you tightly, crying tears of joy.

"I thought you were dead," she informs you before stepping back and wiping the tears away. "I'm so glad you aren't."

Galda surprises you by hugging you tightly the second she reaches you, smiling as she pulls back.

"I should have known from experience that you wouldn't die so easily," she comments.

"Mom, it's probably a trap," Bulo tells her as she approaches the pit.

"Then why not just open pits everywhere until we find him?" Sonyo asks.

"That gives him too much chance to fight back," your mother tells him.

You stop smashing the ground, and, a few seconds later, your family does the same. Galda sighs and repeats her advice from moments ago.

"You should look for a body," she says before turning and walking towards her family's home.

Bulo and your mother begin opening pits around the one your father created, and it doesn't take long for a body to be found. Broken and lifeless, he is already lying in a hole. Perhaps you should just bury him again and make it his grave.

"Well, we got him," Bulo says, sounding a bit relieved, but also sad.

"Good; the last thing we needed was him coming back once our guard was down," your mother says, perhaps a bit callously.

"Should we just rebury him?" Bulo asks.

"I say feed him to your pet turtle," your mother answers.

Lee looks at you. "If you want to give him a proper burial, there's plenty of room outside the settlement."

"He tried to kill you," Felna reminds you. "It's your call."

"Why?" your mother asks. "After everything he did, does he really deserve it?"

"The father I knew should be honored," you tell her. "The man that tried to kill me shall be forgotten."

Your mother sighs, but nods. "Very well, do as you wish."

You remove your father's corpse from the pit and carry it from the settlement. Your brothers, Lee, and Felna follow you as you find a spot and make a hole, placing your father's body inside of it. You retrieve something to mark the grave with before covering his body, standing over your father's grave.

It's what I see happening for every one of these monologues. Seriously...I put up a few large posts during the debates that go well, and everyone assumed a monologue is perfect.

I've been doing one line posts this entire thread, and they were taken at the start, but now we can't seem to shut the fuck up for a few minutes.

Even now, we have the option, right there, to shut up and brood over our father's grave after we kill him...and what happens? Monologue. Keep talking. Fucking shit character, man.

You stand over the grave of your father, and find a familiar song coming to your head. You remember singing it with Galda and Felna after they lost their own father. It only seems appropriate that you sing it about yours.

"Leaves from the vine...." you begin.

"Falling so slow..." Bulo adds.

"Like fragile, tiny shells...." Sonyo chimes in.

"Drifting in the foam...." Lee sings.

"Little soldier boy...." Felna adds her voice

"Come marching home..." Galda sings solemnly as she approaches behind you.

"Brave soldier boy," you sing as one, "comes marching home...."

A single tear falls down your cheek, leaving your face and soaking into the sand beneath which your father sleeps forever more.

Galda puts a hand on your shoulder, her expression one of sympathy and understanding of your pain.

Leaving the others, and the grave of your father behind, you slowly walk over to the lake. Standing on the shore and looking out at the water, you try to clear your head, but find it exceedingly difficult.

Pleasant memories of your father dance through your mind, stretching as far back as you can remember. You remember he and your mother teaching you to read, to Earthbend, playing with you in the city, taking you for walks through the forest and telling you all about the animals. You remember them telling you stories about your adventures, and your father always telling you how proud you made him, and how he knew you were going to do great things.Thinking of all the good times makes it hurt so much worse when you consider how things ended between the two of you.

You need to find a way to come to terms with your emotions, or at the very least identify them. You stand where you are, trying to figure out, until you finally figure out how you're feeling.

>A. You feel drained; you've been hurt and betrayed by so many people you cared about

>B. You feel resolve to become a better person than you are, to make the father you knew proud and stick it to the man he became

You understand what you're feeling; bitterness. The betrayal stings. How could your own father do that to you? The more you think about it, the more you realize it wasn't just him. You've been hurt and betrayed a lot lately. Ren, a man you considered a friend, betrayed you, tried to use you as a pawn, and ultimately tried to kill you. The Queen, despite all you did for her, kicked you out of her palace. Felna threw you under the bus to avoid being caught in a lie.

This constant betrayal and hurt just leaves you feeling drained.

You resolve not to stop until you've managed to successfully waterbend.

Unfortunately, it seems your resolve just isn't enough.

You spend hours upon hours attempting to waterbend, but, rather than slowly getting better and managing to do it, you seem to be getting worse. It eventually reaches the point where you can't even make any water raise into the air. Your frustration and bitterness grows, until finally, there is a change.

A section of the lake freezes solid.

Beyond the surprise of what you just did, you also feel a bit uneasy. You get the feeling someone is watching you, but your friends and siblings returned to the settlement long ago.

You get the feeling that it would be in your best interest to return to the settlement. Unable to shake the feeling that someone is watching you, you keep ready to fight as you begin walking away from the lake and towards the safety of the settlement.

As you walk, you think you see movement out of the corner of your eye. Turning to look that way, you see something leap out of the trees and move into the forest. If you go after it now, you could probably catch it.

You want to know what's going on, so, you decide the best way to find out is to follow the mysterious figure into the woods.

You don't get far before something lands on your back, knocking you forward onto the ground. You feel the weight get off of your back, and look up to see a woman standing over you.

She looks perhaps a year or two younger than the Queen. Her brown hair stops about an inch above her shoulders, and her brown eyes focus on you as she gives you a predatory grin.

"Were you following me?" she asks sweetly. "I'm flattered; always nice to have men chasing me."

we already have a large animal companion, now we just need something a little smaller and more agile that can do sneaky tasks.

"Well, you know how it is; young man alone at night, mysterious woman creeping around the settlement, he chases her, she tackles him to the ground," you say. "Reminds me of one of my mom's cheesy romance scrolls."

The woman laughs, giving you an amused look. "I suppose it does rather sound like that. And I can only imagine what the mysterious woman would do to the young man now in one of those stories, but, that's not why I'm here."

"Who are you?" you ask her.

"My name is Yulni," she tells you, walking slowly around you, a spring in her step as she does so.

"And what are you doing?" you ask her.

"Answering your questions," she answers with a teasing smile.

"Why are you here?" you ask.

"Oh, I'm just here to watch a certain someone," she tells you. "My employer seems to think someone here is very special."

"Where are you from?" you continue.

"The Southern Kingdom," she answers, stopping in her tracks and kneeling in front of you. "So, I just answered a few of your questions, I think you should answer some of mine."

>(To be continued)

That is it for tonight folks, did everyone have fun?

yeah, it was alright
alright, we can assume for now she knows
>we can waterbend
>the avatar is in this settlement
she hasn't tried to hurt us or draw a weapon so as long as we're careful this shouldn't go completely wrong since we can earth/fire bend our way out if necessary
>>
>>34711734
>Thinking your bending will save you from the strange girl in the woods

That's how the last Avatar went

>>
>>34711734
do you even anime logic anon? This chick is going to obviously be super l33t skilled since shes so mysterious
>>
>>34711760
not saying we'll be safe just cause we can bend, if she works for who I'm 90% sure she does then she's more dangerous then she seems. Bending just helps in case we fuck up diplomancing
