Also, today marks a very special day.

On exactly this day, one year ago, EDE, aka Genie, started the very first of his apocalypse civ quests, the Memor Mutant Hivemind Civ quest. On that day was the start of what has now grown into tale of heroes, villains, and great civs with their own tale which have come and passed.

And remember, nobody knows what happened during the fall, be we all know what became after it.

Heh, you wouldn't happen to be a regular to the civ would you?

>>34652399
Nope, am newfriend.
The aftermath of the fappening has driven me from the board I usually go to for civ threads. I'm looking for a new home.
>>
>>34651484
There has been moments when i want to just say F it and do a plan that is just kill the bad guy. Like this >>34652016

... down side is we are in a fight with 5 factions and us, in the middle of it all.

I doubt people want to read a whole a lot. But these notes will give you most of what you need.

Hrmm, that's great.

Unfortunately, OP isn't here and stated his internet will be down, this thread is mostly here for the one year anniversary.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=hivemind

Most of the stuff is here for this quest and the setting.

Also, your action >>34652016 is precisely what we need. However, there are a lot (and I mean a lot) of stuff that isn't listed on the stats like heroes, abilities, and even more details. We have the jist of a big plan down last thread and it's in the works.

Anyway, what I mean is, feel free to lurk. This isn't like the typical fast paced civ, we keep it bumped throughout the week, and has a hell of a learning cliff. We usually run on thursdays and tuesdays, feel free to check up anytime.

>>34653394
Seriously right? It's been so long since Memor thread when that stuff was easy.
>>
>>34653415
Did anybody notice that EVERY major hero involved in this battle is a war criminal?
My mind has been racing trying to figure out a way to make that work to our advantage... Like can we call the space cops or something?

Honestly, I would love to see our commander, the republic hero, combine hero and dr Volker decide to band together, ditch their factions and start their own super faction/ criminal syndicate, or all join the upstart pirate princess brigade. We already have epic AI, LOADS of black tech, and a sick moon base with all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately that may never happen..

Now as far as getting the fucker off the ship, I don't think we should spam him with powers, we should select 1-2 that have good synergy at a time to hit him with, make him tire himself out. I doubt we can blow him away in one turn if at all but we can keep him from making progress..
>>
>>34653728
Republic are the space cops.
>>
>>34653798
The theoretical new group would be "the HULKS" aka "Humanity's Unwelcome Lost Kings"
>>
>>34654003
Why does that actually sound pretty awesome?
>>
>>34654003
How about Transparco? The republic lost their membership card for lying about this event or something.

Also after we win this can we get that space station? We will need better defenses and scanners for probes.
>>
>>34654124
I get the feeling like the Megacorps don't want anything to do with this battle.
>>
>>34654213
True, They probably will want to see how this turns out. But when the economy falls they and us will be gods. Mainly because we can get resources easy and trade them for anything we will need.

In truth I'm amazed we had see any sign of a megacorp. We got SS tech, Umbra ships and a few others being used.
>>
>>34654288
What I would like to see us become is the Combine's independant proxxy ally to fight the Republic, not a part of them, but with a common enemy .
>>
>>34652881
Fappening?
>>
>>34654288
>implying umbra, adero, grow, Ss, and even probably Transperico don't already have sleeper agents on board the mothership.
>>
>>34654339
Yeah that will boost our growth. Down side is that flips what are original goal was (unless we only attack alien factions in the republic).

>>34654390
Sad thing is that is probably true. SS I could see really wanting to keep an eye on us.
>>
>>34653415
I is here though by some strange miracle my internets is working.

>>34653728
What makes you think the Combine hero is a war criminal? Plus the republic hero has 'supposedly' redeemed himself and isn't a war criminal.

>>34654068
It does...

>>34653798
I actually did have something like that but its in the works...supposedly its a faction where every faction has a representive and makes sure people don't go doing that shit.

Unsurprisingly the Combine laughs at them and the Republic does their usual 'oh it totally wasn't us...nope wont EVER happen again bullshit'.

>>34654339
Combine doesn't deal in proxxies. Instead its a 'independent action by potentially rogue members of combine'.

You would be surprised at how often that is the truth or at least some of it.

>>34654390
>Forgetting about the other megacorps

There is a list of them floating around somewhere...
>>
>>34654499
What did I miss? Omnitri, mecka... Uh I'm drawing a blank..
>>
>>34654353

>>
>>34654453
> Down side is that flips what are original goal was (unless we only attack alien factions in the republic).
You know what.

Actually, FUCK any humans who willingly join the Republic. Race traitors all of them.
>>
>>34654732
Heh, Fair.

So with Genie here shale we go the show on the road and Make the action for this turn?
>>
>>34654600
That is hard to believe coming from a former /b/tard...though that was years ago. Back before I saw the skelecoptors pasta and found my way to /tg/. As soon as I did I realized i was home.

>>34654578
There is a decent list of them now. I posted some at another civ to help the anon out. Posted some with the Memor. Posted a few here and there. Posted a few with this very civ near the start of it.

I now have a decent roster going on. If your smart you'll have them put down somewhere so you can keep track. As unlike many other factions megacorps will keep popping back up again and again.

Basically they really are something you should keep an eye on and keep your info together.

Umbra made the old vets learn that the hard way with the bullshit they pulled...and they were one of the especially weaker ones.
>>
>>34654790
And this is the anniversary of the Memor.

Meaning for this ENTIRE day I will offer any and all info about the setting and or system.

Of course you'll have to ask the proper questions.
>>
>>34654787
Ah yes, let's see

Some proposed ideas

a.)
Set the ship on a course toward the colony. We need reinforcements, and lots of our ground forces and elites are down there, as well as defenses.

On the way there, we need whatever part of our fleet that isn't preoocupied to start trailing us and either blasting away at the ship, or keeping any enemy reinforcements from helping it.

We will try to land planetside and get supplies and reinforcements to push in, while planetary defenses and bastion rip away at the ship.

>Currently the colony has been bombarded and is being invaded. So take what you will

b.) Have our ship turn to just take shoots at the ship hooked on to us and see about taking bites our with the maw. In hopes that this will slow the enemy's boarding down.

OH, and of course, one of our actions will be for MAL to keep jamming the comms.
>>
>>34654875
Fuck, I knew this was today and I should have prepared them. Also I have to go somewhere else soon. . .
>>
>>34654875
BEFORE I LEAVE.

1. What was the planet from where Ali Family Corp (Umbra)/Adero truly began?
2. Can we get a full blown Jenny stats and abilities?
3. Storytime the Arch War and the Brood War
4. Tell us the secret of mutation, down to the every level
5. Will we ever see your published Civ quest setting?
6. What is the true heart of the Jungle in the cultist civ, and what are we making out of our pit that wouldn't be it?
>>
>>34654875
So when we had those units follow the Lonesome Wanderer around would they have picked things up or was that a waste of time?

Gear head madness, Is there a way for us to cure madness? If not slow it down.

Are we ever going to get that special story the dice wanted with Bast and Majin or Elton Skeller and Judge Elizabeth?

>Current Civ Question
Any of the factions have so units and/or ideas to help deal with the hero?

... hm what else ...

O yeah Twisted, The trait that allows player control and insight on madness. I know it lets us talk to the world and act on it directly. But what else can it do?
>>
>>34655019

6 the true heart of the jungle...is basically a nexus point.

>>34655161
They indeed would of picked up some stuff.

As for curing madness...nothing is impossible. It is however much easier to do to merely make it slow down or never happen in the first place.

what?

You wont gain the same benefit for current civ.

Depends on the variant of twisted.

Didn't Umbra come from the Ali Family Company?
>>
>>34655564
>Of Shadows(certain stats are hidden)
Reveal them!
>>
>>34655709
Nope that was a cover story that even the other megacorps fell for...especially Adero. Who unwittingly greatly help endorse this idea and did wonders for the cover up.

Umbra homeworld is unknown...for all outside of Umbra and considering just how mind numbingly paranoid/secretive they are its doubtful even they actually know.
>>
>>34654875
Who has bigger tits, Jenny or the Ravager queen?
>>
>>34655815
Ah, truly even light can hide the shadows in its most blinding.
>>
>>34655564
Cool glad that we can train people like that.

... Now how to help our new engineer out. I guess we could see if Volker.

Just seeing if you remember talking about writing smut for a short time. I guess I was to vague.

I guess as much. I was hoping I could ask them so we can get the action for this turn up. But I guess we will wait to do it then.

Is 6 the type or was that miss typing? Cause I would like to know more about these variants.
>>
>>34655867
Ravager Queen by far.

You seem to be forgetting that Jenny's default form is a loli...though if she should morph herself she could have bigger tits if she so desired.

>>34655799
They were revealed its mostly stealthy arts she picked up from being Umbra.

>>34655897
Indeed.

Umbra's actual homeworld is where they were truly founded. The forsaken dark world of Sharz the Umbra Corporate Capital.

It oversees ALL Umbra and affiliate operations.

No one knows about Sharz outside of Umbra and Company.

Even then only a few do...not even the CEO of Umbra is allowed there and even they might not even know of its very existence.

>>34655996
Missed typing apparently.
>>
I feel like the clock is ticking on this special questoinaire edition. Also after midnight or at least by tommorow I imagine we'll get back in the hand of the civ quest.

Hrmm, need to think of stuff we're not normally allowed to ask.
>>
>>34656070
Ah, when we used Cuban Pete last we saw him, we didn't truly understand his abilities.

Exactly what were his full abilities?
>>
>>34656410
Maybe stuff relating to actions. Like the whole scouting versus exploring.
>>
>>34656070
Was the old method of "scout twice explore once" a waste of time?

Can we go back and play more bloodsnow if we wanted?

Who was the stronger force, the splicers or old man blam's bandits?
>>
>>34656454
Not much besides stuff involving...well the mask and madness.

>>34656492
Nope.

Possibly.

Uh...Old Man Blam's due to equipment and experience. Had to think about that one for a second...
>>
>>34656492
>Can we go back and play more bloodsnow if we wanted?
I kinda don't want to wreck them, maybe at least a colony of them. But they're the only actual civ we won through sweat and blood and lived on, not like v101 and its lucky streak.
>>
>>34656478
Sup hivemind bro?
>>34656070
Oh yeah, how does hive mind work in setting? Are there multiple ways to attain hivemind or is psionics it?
>>
>>34656528
Don't forget to trawl over the archives.

>>34656534
Still legit.

>>34656536
There are multiple kinds of hivemind and ways to attain it.

So...I can't say outright how.

>>34656478
I have gone over that before.

Scouting is lighter/faster/more distance with a focus on identifying threats and major points of interest.

Exploring is much slower and heavier but more intense.
>>
>>34656536
Heh.

>>34656528
Is there an easier way to have our troops be smart about an action with out having to write down every movement?

>>34656600
That was an example. I also have stuff in my notes about Courting heroes.

Throwing loot or resources and giving them time off to work on their pet projects tends to do wonders.

To find heroes you need to ask around, pay attention to hints, or do a walk around. There are other ways but it typically depends on the hero in question.

Recruiting heroes meanwhile means somehow enticing them to join you. Luckily they tend to be bit more obvious but also seemingly much rarer. heroes who are available for recruitment tend not to be attached to a faction if they are it means you have to either steal them away or take their group with them as well.
>>
>>34656671
>Is there an easier way to have our troops be smart about an action with out having to write down every movement?
As well as heroes.

Really this, Memor it was so simple we didn't have to explicitly use abilities and Heroes knew what they were doing.

We could boil it down to "Slag, you go fight these asholes for us!"

Now. . . things have gotten very elaborate.
>>
>>34656671
What did we do with old man blam's boys to unlock that whole stream of officers again? We did official promotions or something after a major battle right? I would be willing to wager if we survive that we can do that again...

>>34656600
Is there anything you want to share about locating hero's in our midst?
>>
>>34656827

Aye. Damn shamed they all blew up. . .
>>
>>34657060
I like to think they became something like toxic avenger. W had ghouls, machines and 25 + officers with some heroes mixed in. I'm sure some are alive Mostly the ones that were not there.
>>
Hrm, time to bing through the archives for super special questions to be asked!

Quick, what's one thing you always were frustrated at never knowing in this game?
>>
>>34656671
relying upon officers+training.

>>34656725
To be fair Slag was a tactical genius so he knew his shit.

>>34657232
Ah so someone is hitting the archives.
>>
>>34657303
Man, we should've gotten ourselves a strategic genius or an admiral but we had presumed the commander was that when he's more into tactics.

Actually, considering he IS more into tactics the current point of the fight where we're being boarded might entirely be within his field.

>Dialoghe
"You know Commander, why don't we give you the reigns here. This type of combat seems your expertise."
>>
>>34657303
So your saying we need to get our people good. Train them, Build them up like the military and then they will be smart to do actions on their own. But I'm guessing if we don't have a hero like the commander or General Viczar we can't rely on them for taking an action over for us.

>>34657232
I got must of the random ones I wanted out of the way.

>>34657375
I believe we still picked right. The commander is just more for ground troops. If we can get him some space combat schooling I'm sure it will work out. The mastermind is our long term back up planning person and trap maker.
>>
>>34657375
Or we can have Mizar use the special thing he has been hiding that he thought we didn't know about..
>>
>>34657303
There are so many, just the memor themselves would take up what's left of the night.

Wish I could come up with something good to ask right now.
>>
>>34657527
Wasn't that the trap we already activated?
>>
>>34657576
Not that... The OTHER thing if he doesn't have some sort of hidden something somewhere i will be shocked
>>
>>34657611
Ah, well, whatever it is, it will only be ready when he says its ready and not a moment to soon.
>>
>>34657611
>>34657632
Just As Planned: When activated no matter the surroundings or background will count as a trapped event.

Do not forget how powerful this ability is. Any time we want a trap we have it. But I'm sure building somethings up will help it greatly.
>>
>>34657760
Hrm, maybe he has a contingency plan for just this occasion?
>>
>>34657760
That ability, plus tireless, and the commanders ability to keep an enemy pinned down should bring him to a full stop while we get other ships In position to fire at the boarders
>>
Man, rereading through the old threads hasn't given me any questions I want to ask, but it's just awesome taking a trip down memory lane.

The spider tanks, the constant battle with monsters and bandits, the hilarious screw ups which we always seemed to be able to overcome.
>>
Really wish I prepared more for today, but I am so glad it came.

We made it Ede, you and many of your players, from that day long ago, to your great hiatus after bloodsnow, to here. We prevailed, and here is to a whole year of EDE Civ Quest. A vast rich world, and a fun time every tuesday and thursday night that I wouldn't have given up for the world.

As it was said before, May this quest live long until the long night desends upon it.

In memory of Star City and Opaque Fabrique. I'm not sure what these are, just quoting the first Memor thread
>>
>>34657858
Plus his skills in ground combat should help some here.

>Action 1 + bonus tireless action
Mastermind and Commander do what you can to take the hero and boarding party down. Use what resources, troops and abilities needed to win this.

So that's first action down. MAL's is communions and cyber warfare.

We need to ask our allies if they can help any. The UUU should have skills to take the hero on or the Super Soldiers.

That leaves action 2. It could be used to help MAL, the main action or something else.
>>
Rolled 52 (1d100)

Ain't muh setting just grand?

>>34658093
You should seriously look them up in the archive. They are amazing post apoc civs of whom inspired myself. In particular the Star City I ripped from due to being mutants.

Feels lonely though running all these civs...would actually like to be able to play the damned things instead of running them.
>>
>>34658094
I so want to vote this and maybe bypass another few days of hyper planning, but Genie says abilities have to be explicitly stated.

Also, I'm worried that a very very good plan will be needed here, and a moderately good plan might just end up killing us. We came so close, have so many good luck, to lose now because we didn't plan enough would be devastating.
>>
Happy Memor anniversary guys, it's been a fun year, and here's to even more Genie civ quests.
>>
>>34658190
Their not going to use it out of the blue. The commander knows the hero some what. I'm sure he's not going to be stupid about it. Think of the time we left an action the hands of General Viczar. We literally left it up to him. i believe we should trust his skills with the mastermind's in this.
>>
>>34658177
I don't know about a civ quest, but I participate in the builder community on /tg/. Specifically nation building games.

They aren't anywhere near as elaborate or serious as one of your civ quest, but they are fun and have players intead of a group controlling individual nations. There's a new sci-fi one that's starting tommorow and will be running every saturday.
>>
>>34658190
>>34658177
Tell me Genie, will a simple good plan be better than us spending yet another day working on a hyper big post plan?
>>
>>34658565
That feel when I run shadowrun on Saturdays...

>>34658644
Potentially.

Detailed plans are good if you don't have real reliable people to count on.
>>
>>34658743
We have a lot of reliable heroes that's for sure.

Just saying, I'm really at a loss here to make a very detailed plan like before.
>>
>>34658838
Yes but what is their knowledge and skill set?

How good are your officers?

How reliable are your troops?

The higher quality all of this is the easier it is to not put up with such detailed plans in order to make up for it. On the plus side even if you DO do detail with good quality they can easily pull it off or even point stuff out.
>>
>>34658838
We should have the commander challenge the legendary hero to 1v1 hand to hand combat. Stop the senseless killing of the republics innocent troops. 1v1 winner take all, loser leaves the system. while Mal and mastermind do everything in their power to tip the odds in the commanders favor

>>
>>34658985
Problem with that is Killigan himself is a very dangerous person. traitorous, expect cheating and low blows, unstoppable assault and he can nullify powers and abilities.

In the commanders advice, we need help badly. I'm thinking whatever we do, we have to move to reinforcements.
>>
>>34659068
I fully intend on cheating too. These are fucking war criminals with some history with each other. We have the advantage of fighting on our home turf, and we have a mastermind that can basically insure we won't lose. The republic was offended by what we said to the combine, sure, but not war fleet offended. They want a piece of the commander, I say we give it to them. A move like that insures that we will get out with minimal losses and we end up looking like the "good guys" when the commander is willing to risk his life for the sake of sparing the lives of the fine men and women of the republic. Make it look like Their "legendary hero" was just a big nasty evil war criminal and our commander was vilified for no good reason I'm sure mastermind can set up false evidence to verify that claim
>>
Rolled 29 (1d100)

>>34658094
Vote but with modification.

This man is a combine traitor, and who better help take down a combine traitor than the combine themselves?

We need to move the ship and have any of our fleet not currently proccupied to the bulk of the Combine forces, their job is to try and protect or move us and the latched enemy vessel towards the Combine fleet where hopefully our combined numbers and proximity to Combine forces can be of aid.

Mastermind and Commander do what you can to take the hero and boarding party down. Use what resources, troops and abilities needed to win this.

>Action 2
>>34659373
Move the ship and have any of our fleet not currently proccupied to the bulk of the Combine forces, their job is to try and protect or move us and the latched enemy vessel towards the Combine fleet where hopefully our combined numbers and proximity to Combine forces can be of aid.

>MAL's Synchronized
MAL is to keep up communions and cyber warfare.

Do any of the heroes have something to say, add or change?

Only thing I would like to add is seeing if some of the other factions can take our the damaged ships before they become a problem again.
>>
>>34659360
You know, a 1v1 fight between the commander and the enemy leader would be fucking awesome and it would be great if Genie allowed for such a thing to happen.
>>
>>34655564
>5 My setting? no most unlikely. As is it would be a miracle if I can even do the book much less system.
I would rather you do the system/setting first then the book later, I want something to show my friends and in the future have a really fun game to play or a story to tell.
>>
>>34659672
If our commander was skilled in it a would have backed it. But he's no super soldier, He's a commander who is for planing actions, moving people where they need to be and tactical skills. Well that's my understanding of him.
>>
>>34659752
Now if we only had an admiral to match.
>>
>>34659672
Note I don't expect them to fight to the death, I don't think we can kill him even if we wanted to... We can kill the shit out of his reputation though. Mastermind sets up a fake live stream of the fight, Mal puts it up over the enemy coms, master mind has"fake Killigan" say some implicating shit about having tricked the whole republic into thinking he is a hero... Bam enemy morale broken and Killigan gets a court marshal.
>>
>>34659843
Well they can grow stronger and after this fight I don't see why we would train for ship battles.
>>
>>34659901
Actually Godzilla, wouldn't that be moot since the whole point of our actions are jamming any republic signals to and fro to hide Combine intervention?
>>
>>34659926
True, but I mean, somebody who knew their shit and how to handle a fleet as a whole and isn't leaving it up to a cazy science chick.
>>
>>34659957
We wouldn't open their coms back up to them, we would play the fight, and let them know the terms of the duel.
>>
>>34659988
Then lets ask, it weird but if we don't it seems no one really steps up.

>>34658921
So we ask the crew. Does any one have skills in ship combat? You are needed to help guide us threw this mess, Dam lack of FLT.

I sure our pirate crew members have someone piloting. But I want to believe there has to be more than just pilots.
>>
Some of the stuff and losses the Memor lived through really boggle my mind, some of them were worth the deaths of entire later civs.

I'd want to do a big post apoc civ, but we have the cultists in the backburner for too long and should go back to them one day soon.
>>
>>34660298
I'm over the cultists personally. Bandito bot v2.0 is going to come out soon though!

>>34660484
It doesn't mean we can't get back into them. We still have our age old goals of getting rid of that damned zombie nest over our holy grail of resources, creating the avatar of our god in the jungle, and gaining jungle empathy, among other things.

Oh yeah, how famous is She Who Hungers around the post fall world? Does everyone who konws anything about zombies notice that they seem to feed and be led by a mysterious disembodied entity?

I would like to know what we could of done better with the brood. I know it ended because we pick the worst option. But until that point I think we did alright. >>34661239
Brood are an entire enslaved ECOSYSTEM focused behind a single will and or hierarchy.

Brood are virulent and adaptive as they enslave the area to their will.

Unless their a hybrid no.

>>34661643
What about zombies? I have granted info on them before.
>>
>>34661782
Hmm, that is true. We don't really know about Pre-Fall society.

I mean, its interesting to learn that money is a thing again. Who or what backs the universal "credit" system that seems to even penetrate races between human and alien, and even war between Republic and Combine credits are valid for everyone. But how?
>>
>>34661782
Actually, the Pre-Fall world is of its own an entire setting with a history. Humanity seemingly evolving and originating on different planets at the same evolutionary rate seemingly impossible yet it happened.

The great Earth Empire and their conquest/encounter with these other humans.

The fall of humanity that lead to them being overrun by aliens.
>>
>>34661782
Yeah and I still have it. I'm still working to make a zombie/brood civ based around a mad doctor named Zed. Who uses a mobile hive lab to do different works to improve his fellow Infested zombies (Main reason for infested is because you said they are brood). The hero types you gave are Minder, Cannibal, Strain, BrainZ and Voodoo.

What do hives get and can it be mad mobile? Can I use a zombie hero (I assume BrainZ can) to do a mad zombie doctor?

Also you said "Just to tell you zombies do indeed rot unless they are hit with a stronger body or conditioned. As they rot though they just go skary skellington as time wears on."

So I assume that means mummy zombies and is it easy to make the skeletons?
>>
>>34661782
What are the core worlds like? After the fall of the Terran empire, what became of the planet earth as the balance of power shifted away from them?
>>
>>34661997
Mostly brood actually.

Hives only get mobile if they infested a mobile base or fortress.

special zombies are VERY rare especially one with actual brains.

Depends on the type of zombie some can indeed rot away while others...are more 'alive' so to speak.

Just to warn you though...bah too many hints and I don't want to spoil it.

>>34662042
Core worlds...are paradise if you got the rights.

Otherwise not so much.

Basically if you must know...its kinda like this.

"Here once the fantastic was real, the future was now, and death along with greatness was optional."

Gives you an idea of just how far out a Core World was.

They were the mighty worlds that dragged themselves out of being a backwater into being one of the big wigs.
>>
>>34661466
It seems people are stuck...

Imagine if you will the Genie doing something else besides writefaggotry or even a civ.

>>
>>34662186
Dam well that can be an goal for the civ, Mobile Z fort. I guessed as much, I was hoping with the mix of brood and a background it would help get things started.

Zed slowly awakes his past knowledge and slowly works to get smarter. Quickly becoming the hive-mind to the horde weak at first. It will need time to grow but piece by piece and brain by brain the connection grows.

I also hoped with the living ECOsystem aspect of them would greatly aid in their growth to allow part removable and attachment. So they could add to them selves and end up with spider zombies or some other mix of monster. Also most like they will become living labs for Dr.Zed.

>>34662241

Well...there are three ways.

One...is kinda like this one.

Another is basically PIRATES(i has best music)

The third...is a virtual reality simulator setting.

I DO have a fantasy civ that COULD work...but its a bit more grim not post apoc though obviously.

The fifth....I suppose that would be up for player suggestion.

>>
>>34662782

It would indeed be person quest(because none of those settings are set up for civs).

The pirates by the way?

One Piece.

Yes i am a terrible person but fuck if the adventure aspect doesn't call to me...

The fantasy is heavily homebrewed.

The Virtual Reality simulator allows for some REAL heavy shenanigans. As its a smart system that will actively adapt hence allowing you to come up with interesting combos that normally wouldn't work and more.

The one like this one...is modified. Basically further back in time on a core world. You start out as a grunt with a potential 'gift' or quite possibly a mook(heheh).

>>34662813
Something like that yeah?

Personally...I am fond of all the options...

Fuck. I like Pirate because well...ADVENTURE.

I like MMO because ADAPTABLE SHENANIGANS.

Fantasy because its my baby that I have been working on for YEARS.

Modified because of supers, magic, psi, and more all crammed in one.

Sadly the last two are a bit more gritty while the MMO is the least so.

Awesomeness is possible with all though.

I'll let you fight over which or choose something different.

Pirate
Marine
Bounty Hunter
Trader
Other?

You start off as a kid.

your basic 'class' will be

Shooter
Brawler
Thief
Face
Apprentice(such as doc, scientist, blade master ect)

Depending on what you choose in the beginning when your 'neutral' will decide your basic stats...later on you get to choose the first ones. You COULD always apprentice yourself early to an 'aligned' faction like being the previously mentioned cabin boy under pirate/marines or serving a marine doctor or pirate scientist ect

You don't start with a name. It's a bitch to get people to remember your name unless you "do something" anyways, so you just go without, you got to earn that shit.

Instead you would pick a job

>science guy
You work under a mad scientist, great. Your smarter than your average joe, but unless you can apply it to the real world your kinda fucked. Just pray you don't get on your bosses bad side or you might ask you to help him with an "experiment"

>military guy
Your in the military! Woo hoo! The pay is shit and your probably going to die extra horrible. At least they give you a gun and some armor, if you can call it that. Let's hope you can prove yourself and maybe you might get to use the good stuff.. Probably not.

>Scouting guy
Your a scouting guy! Your the most likely one to die! You go and poke your head around where it doesn't belong, often twice! But you get to see all the exotic sights for better or worse. protip: scouts get a lot of experience fairly fast, if you survive.

>Bandit guy
Your a bandit, you hang with other bandits doing bandit shit. Also your gay. This is non negotiable.

And so on..

>>34664048
It is way too late for me to think with any degree of intelligence, godzilla is drunk, Delim would be our best hope.

Hmm, we could go back to asking questions about your setting.
>>
>>34664101
And again, I'm thankful for a year of EDE and civ games. The hours of fun, and sadness, joy and tears, all of it making something I can say is truly worthwhile
>>
>>34664101
I got what I needed. Which was stuff about people, actions and hero teaching.

>>34664048
Na If I wanted to bribe it would be cash and it would be for you system info. So I can get this zombie doctor working.

I guess I could try drawing something again. Still not sure what to draw at the moment. I have ideas for the space station if we get it.
>>
>>34664101
Not to be pedantic, I'm not really all that drunk, smoked a bit too much hash :3
>>
>>34664048
I guess unrelated would be what steam games you got? I so want to see what we, as a group, would do in online games. Mainly payday or mount & blade ... I'm sure there are others ...
>>
>>34664048
>>34664188
I got money on getting delim "some" of your system notes.

I'm surprised you haven't asked anything to make sure your robot bandits are set.
>>
>>34664310
I understand what's needed to make bots. The starting location matters a lot more than I expected. It's more about cutting back on fun and working out the internal economy. Thinking about taking AI Jal for these guys... I miss that guy.
>>
>>34664383
And I may have figured it out... they start in an old Sorry Suns coal mine!
>>34664048
Would that work?
>>
>>34664095
>>34664101
so much consensus...

Has no clue how to start it though...

Anyway got like another two hours.

lets see

1 fantasy
2 pirate
1 grunt
1 post apoc grunt
1 SIMMO

Holy crap it was much more balanced then I had thought.

Well in that case...guess i will give stuff for the other options.

For Grunt

backstory confirmed poor kid who got himself in deep...only to afterwards find himself with a bag full of cash and a card.

>Magic
>Psi
>Smart
>Strong
>MYSTERY

The fantasy meanwhile...*starts to sweat* will uhm.

guess it would be more choices...

Post apoc grunt with offerings is pretty self explanatory.

Now for the SIMMO...well you got.

>Student
>No lifer
>White Collar
>Blue Collar
>Criminal

Character creation.

Followed by class selection from guilds, apprenticeships, discovery whatever. once you get strong enough anyway. Its special in that you can potentially find hidden skills, talents, and unlock abilities much more easily then the other options. Shit there is even hidden classes and adventure out the ass.

>>34662950
possibly.

>>34664251
Hm?

>>34664383
That is indeed especially true for bots.
>>
>>34664446
Change my vote to grunt!

I would send you 20$, if delim would match that, and somebody else throws 10... I feel like 50$ is enough to get us a sneak preview maybe?

But Genie, I want to try out Pirate quest AND Memor grunt quest, and fantasy guy quest...

>>34664512
This, grab yer swords and shiver yer timbers we're gonna become king!
>>
>>34664547
If genie made his setting and system into an actual published book, I would pay 100$ for it.
>>
>>34664547
Screw it, changing my vote to grun. let's go with Grunt because Genie has a backstory for it and I have no idea what setting it is but it sounds fun.

>>34664446
Ok change back to pirate. Let's do it yo!
>>
>>34664422
Oh fuck balls.

It would indeed...possibly.

>>34664446
Anyway you may get a special benefit...including *tries not to cry* a fate point. *Shudders*.

>>34664446
Whoops got that grunt wrong was supposed to be 2.

For grunt those options merely state what you have a 'knack' for.

for the SIMMO...they offer each a different expertise.

Student for instance can range anyway from college or before. Bonus to connection and time. Penalty cash.

No lifer...you don't really have much a life you failure. Bonus to time and talent. Penalty charm.

White Collar its all about the biz and office. Bonus to cash and profit. Penalty Time.

Blue collar is getting your hands dirty and laboring. Bonus to grinding and hard skills skills. Penalty time.

Criminal your familiar with shadier affairs. Bonus fight and ability penalty cash.

>>34664600
I has backstory for everything...but fantasy apparently. Not to mention grunt is more hard and less awesome right away. And lethal...so very lethal.

>>34664644
i I wuh wut.

Preview of what exactly?

>>34664688

Genie Quest when?
>>
>>34664644
I would be grateful. But we are a team, I'm not going ask for something that only 2 of us can see.
>>
>>34664688

1 fantasy
3 pirate
3 grunt
1 SIMMO
2 Genie(say what?)

I suppose fantasy backstory I'll be nice and leave up to you.

>>34664570
That would mean I would have to get published...and as i said before the system is a long long ways from that.

Setting...I don't even know how the hell that is suppose to work.

>>34664750
>>34664750
Oh for the love of god you better not being basing it off me.

I lived an interesting if a bad life.

>>34664791
Oh for fucks sake...I don't even. FUU.
>>
>>34664816
IF today is a special day, I can't think of anything more unique than playing a life of Genie grunt game.
>>
>>34664816
Oh damn... I have the question to end all questions about the system!!!!!!

Which hero is the "self insert" hero of yours?
You have been running this game for a year now, don't tell me you haven't made a hero based off of yourself. is it voss? It's voss.
>>
>>34664904
I thought it'd be the AI's like EDE. Or maybe Volk.
>>
Rolled 4 (1d100)

>>34664871
I...I...I just don-

OH HELL NO.

FUCK NOT IN THAT SETTING. I can handle it but...not the grunt.

...fuck third vote for genie...I wanna cry.

>>34664904
I...is that like a normal thing to do?

Because I uh... never did so. At most I would take a piece of myself as inspiration and run with it from there. Thanks to my interesting life the results have been amazing. So...i suppose i never really felt the desire or need.

>>34664927
Nope. >>34664904 and no.

Makes me feel fuzzy inside with you thinking them so life like...
>>
>>34664927
Ede may be one, but only by virtue of being the most "human like"

I don't think volk, but I suppose it's possible.

I'm thinking it has to be one of the ravager family..
>>
anyway, times ticking and I don't like being pressured. If yuo wanna do something within your deadline Genie you better because you know voting tends to chew up your time.

As for the votes for Genie it'd be neat for grunt and to learn more about you, but if we wanted action we'd go for pirate of course.
>>
>>34665011
...wow do you really think I am that evil or greedy?

Admittedly on an alignment test i did score neutral evil but still.

Sheesh...basically though tis highly unlikely you ever be able to figure out the self insert character.

anyway

Ah...remember today is a special day...so options which would normally be denied could in fact be forced through.

So uhm...have mercy.

oh gawd. I know their thinking about it...

one day, we'll do a genie quest.

>>
Rolled 61 (1d100)

>>34665208
So like a number of this stuff...could happen whenever with a bonus without even anything extra.

While other stuff is special only.

So I could in fact reveal stuff like uh what the mysteries actually are or concede to a request I would otherwise deny...

>>34665234
heh you wish.
>>
>>34665249
The problem with that genie is its past my bedtime and I won't think of anything good until later when it is too late.

Also what is a nexus point and how is the true heart of the jungle that in cultist quest?
>>
>>34665234
Such a request for 'genie' quest would otherwise be denied any other time.

But due to it being anniversary...and to commenerate such an occasion.

I...am unable to do so.

FUCK.

So for Genie...

it would be an special optionnnnnnn.

of I...well 1 vote was for Grunt edition.

otherwise it would be Twisted Genie Game Engine.

Where you would have access to....number of realms oh uh 'servers' for control. Along with some selected talents, stats, traits, and abilities harvested from yours truly.

That is the default option.
>>
Rolled 47 (1d100)

>>34665358
But I'm in the mood for pirate. so is Delim. Anon is right you like making hard choices that often makes time float by fast.
>>
>>34665358
The impression was with Genie Grunt we'd play a day in the life of you know you.
>>
>>34665358
So uhm...yeah.

Depending on your secondary choice for realms aka my settings the other options will either have greater or lesser effect.

So beware and try to maximize it. There are a few hints but that is about it.

If only it wasn't the damned anniversary...still looks like pirates are winning so lucky me.

>>34665284
Its the heart of the jungle and its where it all sorta collected/got pumped through.

>>34665425
My life is very boring at the moment but an option. Its not always interesting I just said in general i have lived an interesting life...but a shitty one. But hey that is better then a number can say. Many of those who lived a poor/bad/shitty life can say its at least been interesting.

Will allow for a selection for realms to peruse. Pirates though not included...or shouldn't be as its not an original setting of the system in question. Drawing a blank on how to include.

Option in Question will allow to steal several of my own stats and to pick out from a number of settings.

I have three sci fi settings.

Mad Realm
Vile Space
Before Fall

Fantasy Super
1 Fantastic sci Fi Post Apoc
1 Modern Fantasy

>>34666637

WIsh we could do a talker who knows how to shoot, because there's noting like gunboat diplomacy.
>>
>>34666637
I like you style.

Anyway.

From going over the previous votes.

4 north.
2 east

3 brawler.
3 face
2 apprentice blademaster(1 for pirate blademaster other neutral)
3 shooter

>>34666674
Heh its just the base consider what would be hardest to level though.

Anyway there is threeway tie for basic(AGAIN) the ocean that is winning is North.

So north is locked....now i have to see what there is on the North Blue.
>>
>>34666674
well if silvertongue anon is here maybe we could still be a talker even with shooter
>>
>>34666762
Fat chance, I haven't been so sucessful in diplomacy in a while. Feels like I'm barely passing in the scifi civ
>>
>>34666703
If you want to be a good leader though like commanding a bunch of crew otherwise you may end up like luffy with his shitty leadership and hence quite small crew (and even potentially command minions stronger then yourself if your good enough like Buggy).

Basically leadership influences the numbers, morale, order taking/receiving, and even the maximum strength you can have under you.

Its most heavily influenced by charisma.

Talker/Face focuses most heavily on this charisma making it easier for you to charm, command, and even buy stuff.

Brawler is melee focused.

Shooter is ranged focused.

Apprentice...varies.

Thief is all being about a sneaky bastard.

>>34666762
You'll still be eating penalties due to being less charismatic.
>>
>>34666703
Talker

We'll get a shooter guy first thing to teach us how to shoot

>>
>>34666703

>>
>>34666878
It is a vote! I always vote for whats most popular... Or take a hard line against sometimes.
>>
>>34666901
Talker is locked.

Home North Blue.

Bonus cold resistance.

Due to not being of East Blue you get a stat bonus due to not being of the weakest sea and has the most unknown. In fact you get three points to allot to wherever you so please.

You gain a 1 mystery bonus and a penalty to exploration from the ancient days of old.

stats are
Might 3
Tough 4
Agility 3
Charisma 7
Smarts 5

Penalty to Explore
Bonus against Cold

You have 3 points to spend.

Name is undecided.

Luck is up to the dice so the stat doesn't exist.
>>
>>34666983
Might 3
Tough 4 +1
Agility 3
Charisma 7 + 1
Smarts 5 + 1

Improve our high stats while getting our soak up. We will be a admiral in no time.
>>
>>34667052
I can dig it.
>>
>>34666983
However the bonus for East blue is the fate/luck but penalty to stats.

Your home island is Isca of the Kingdom of Komera. You live in the port city Harsa five years since the execution. Contrary to popular belief the pirate age is still going strong much the Navy's pain.

And after a recent unfortunate 'adventure' of you and your childhood friend. She ate a devil fruit...its effects are of yet unknown. Not to mention she sorta stole it from the infamous pirates the Bewitched Band who serve the notorious Sea Witch...surprisingly though they didn't do anything to you but instead left in a hurry when they found out vice admiral was on the scene.

...that was the first time you bore witness to a fight between major powers. You had seen sword fights, duels, and brawls, but that was the first time you saw a devil fruit match of such power. Amazingly the pirates got away thanks to the sacrifice of some of their fellows. Considering how the Marines are up everyone's asshole you have safely assumed that those who were left behind are hiding out somewhere. You meanwhile were dragged homewards due to missing your curfew.

And were promptly grounded by your older siblings.
Anyway you were forced to get up...and realized you may be running late to school, but notice a certain letter on the table with your name on it...and with a seal.

>Attend school
>Skip
>Read the letter
>sleep in its fine if your running late anyway
>other?

>>34667052
