Welcome to the Fifth Fuyuki Grail War, the challenge for the omnipotent cup bathed in the blood of "God." You have been marked as a Master, a magus who will summon the power of a hero of old and wager the chip you call your "life," all in pursuit of a wish.

Before we begin such a tale though, we must decide who you are. What sort of magecraft do you utilize?

[Master Creation, pick one of the existing slots or create your own. Specific styles and how you use your magecraft will be decided later, so this is just the branch of spells you use.]

>Elemental Magus, specializing in a given elemental affinity. Dual elements and Average Ones are possible. If you choose this, state which element.

>Alchemist, user of Transmutation. Essentially a less-powerful version of Irisveil von Einzbern.

>Jewel magus. Capable of incredibly quick and destructive spells by using stored prana in jewels, but if you run out...you're out of luck.

>Rune magus, one who specializes in using runes to achieve given mysteries. High variability and able to prep for scenarios well, but ultimately limited by their set of runes.

>Necromancer. Self-explanatory, you raise dead people and tell them to do things. Will also cover Spiritual Evocation, ergo the summoning and commanding of spirits such as wraiths.

>Witchcraft, cursing techniques, flying on brooms, and things of that nature.
>>
>>34516147

>Witchcraft, cursing techniques, flying on brooms, and things of that nature.

Gotta go with the classics every once in a while.

A witch. Different from the simple fantasy ideals of storybooks and the Ploys wielded by a Reality Marble-turned-Servant and a doll-like girl who lives on a hill, you are one who curses and plagues your enemy with endless hell, who creates potions for a variety of effects and who can even reach into the realms of spirit exorcism.

But that raises a new question: What is your specialty? You of course have basic capacity in all these fields, but which do you call yourself a master of?

Predictable, as if anyone would think otherwise. Cursing is the forefront of a witch's capabilities, so of course it would be your skill set of choice.

You begin at the Fuyuki Park, a charred reminder of the black mud that swallowed the city some odd decades ago. The four fallen leylines of Fuyuki are the church run by a fake priest, the temple atop a mountain, the house of the Tohsaka, and the Fuyuki Park. Out of the four, the latter was the best location at which to summon a Servant, as people were possibly watching the other three.

It goes without saying that it is night.

The summoning circle is drawn, and the chant is made.

"Silver and iron to the origin. Gem and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone.

The alighted wind becomes a wall. The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate.

Fill. Fill. Fill. Fill. Fill.

Repeat every five times.

Simply, shatter once filled.

――――I announce.

Your self is under me, my fate is in your sword.

In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.

Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good of the world of the dead, I am the one who lays out all the evil of the world of the dead.

You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence, O keeper of the balance ―――!"

A flash of light appears as a Servant is summoned...but what class has been brought about as your partner?

[The Servant will be randomly picked from all canon Servants in the chosen class.]

[] Saber
[] Archer
[] Rider
[] Lancer
[] Caster
[] Assassin
[] Berserker

As soon as the words leave your mouth the blue spearman's eyes light up slightly.
"So I've been summoned by a cute girl who doesn't have an issue with getting drunk. Maybe this'll be entertaining after all."
He seems relatively pleased by your answer. He glances around as if to check for any eavesdroppers before speaking back up.
"Sure Master, a drink sounds good. My name's Cu Chulainn, but it's probably for the best if you just call me Caster. My Noble Phantasm's this-" He cuts of for a moment to brandish his spear, "-My Gae Bolg. Simply put, if I'm given a chance to use the spear, whatever I'm against won't be alive afterwards.
>You know have the status sheet for both usages of Gae Bolg
"My other one...well, it's a territory creation kinda thing, but it's not that great. I'll explain that later."
You two then promptly hit up a bar, and as you begin to pound drink after drink back you start making conversation, which goes dismissed by those nearby as the idiot ramblings of two drunkards.

"Why are you wearing so much goddamn blue? It hurts my eyes. Fuck."

You mutter the words as you down another drink in an impressive time.

Caster just gives a laugh, shrugging slightly. "It's kind of in my title and everything. It's like a theme, I like it."

With that issue settled the two of you continue making small talk and generally having a good time. It's worth noting though that, even though you were constantly casting a curse of purification on yourself, your drinking ability next to your Servant's was nothing short of pathetic.

Or rather, perhaps it's just that his is exceptional.

"Well Master, where to now?" He asks some time later, as the two of you leave the bar.

Only Caster can really profit off of the leylines there unless there's a really exceptional Master amongst the others. Considering we're both Caster's Master and specialize in the right kind of magic to make use of it, it'd be the best vantage point. In lieu of not having an Assassin-but-actually-a-Saber to post at the entrance, we could probably fill it up with Rune traps.

Fair enough, alright.

------------------

"Dematerialize, and let's go to the Temple on top of the mountain. We can make your territory there."

You give the assessment with only a small drunken hiccup between words, as Cu nods slightly.

"Fair enough, seeing as I've been put in this container I should at least play like it. Also, this way you get to see my other Noble Phantasm."

With that, the Caster dematerializes as you begin the walk up to Ryuudou Temple. Needless to say, given your current state it takes you a while, but eventually you make it, stumbling up through the gates as stealthily as you can to prevent from awakening any who might be there.

"Alright Master, I'll start territory creation now, you just sit tight."

Grinning to yourself, you open your Magic Circuits and start your work.

After all, it'd be problematic if someone saw or heard you two, right? Searching through your crest for an appropriate spell, you eventually find the right one, a simple Five Count, and cast it on the environment around you to dampen your sound.

Imagine your surprise when a few of the trees at the fringe of your location start to wither and die.

Whoops, wrong spell.

[] Punch your crest in frustration.

[] Shrug, decide that's good enough, and wait for Cu to finish up.

Without any doubt, you reach for the spell that has never let you down before, a curse of purification. Comparable to a healing spell, but it worked on removing "impurities", poisons, mental pollution, and things of that nature. Of course, an impurity like vampiric blood was well beyond you, but alcohol was easy enough.

You sober up immediately, and blink twice to make sure you're not hallucinating.

"You were looking kinda out of it, Master."

"How long have we been here for?"

"A few hours by now, I think. If you didn't guess I'm all done. You want to deal with the monks now?"

You look around, awestruck, trying to comprehend what had occurred.

Because here, in a matter of hours, your Servant had deployed his Noble Phantasm. His territory. His castle.

The landscape of Ryuudou temple has been surrounded by stone walls, reaching up towards the sky. It has become a castle on top of a hill, the property of Cu Chulainn.

A Noble Phantasm which is also his territory. A fortress. An impregnable defense. To say the least, this is not what you expected.

Still a little out of it, you give your reply. Caster nods before jumping into the residence part of the temple, leaving you to your own devices.

As expected of the "fastest Servant" though, he returns in little time with a grin. "Rune of mental alteration does the job well. Glad that even like this my runes are almost as good as they were in life."

>Runes: A. Capacity to use the 18 original runes, as well as to create new ones with the same level of power.

"There was also this one guy in there who looked...interesting. He didn't wake up, same with all the others, but there was a feeling about him...something strong. We might wanna consider using him, with my runes strengthening him he could be useful to us." Cu says.

You nod slightly before giving another reply.

You express your primary concern. As cool as the castle is, it seems to be way too noticeable. What if non-magi notice it, or if other Masters use it to know where you are and get a clue to your identity?
Cu merely scoffs. "Oh, right, forgot to tell you that, didn't I? This is Dún Delga. To be fair, this wasn't actually mine, it's one of those cases of incorrect attribution, but I get it so no reason to complain. Anyway, it's naturally got a sort of "rejection" deal attached to it, perception-wise. Normal humans won't notice it as if it's not there, and even magi and Servants probably won't be able to 'see' its details. They'll see a castle, but that's about it. Plus, this place is my territory, and it's a solid C Plus Noble Phantasm, modifier's when we're under siege or basically getting attacked from the outside, so it's pretty hardy."
"That's secondary stuff though. So long as we're in here, the part of it that's actually Noble Phantasm-worthy is that my fame is boosted immensely. In other words, I'm practically unbeatable if we're fighting in here, it's like fighting in Ireland."

Cu chuckles slightly at your enthusiasm, moving to the gate of the temple-castle as you head inside the temple to rest.

You've got a bro Servant with a kickass set of powers, a monk harem, and an auto-sober spell. This has been a good day.

---

You wake up the next day, yawning slightly as you sit up in one of the beds you had stolen from a brainwashed monk, who had been forced to sleep outside.

"What to do today..."

Before you look for Caster, you need to sketch out a plan for the daily activities.

[] Send Caster out to go gather some intel
[] Decide to spend the day doing prep-time things in your castle
[] Go out looking for a fight. You want to kill shit.

>>
>>34519026
>[] Decide to spend the day doing prep-time things in your castle
Intel can be gathered later.
>>
>>34519203
Kotomine gave him the order to look for the other servants and gather intel. He was not meant to fight them.
>>
You've got a castle Noble Phantasm, a Caster Servant, and you can probably use some of his runes or something to scry the town anyway.

Going outside would be dumb.

And so, you find Caster and explain the day's activities: prep-timing like crazy, of course making sure that he's okay with it.

"Yeah, fine by me. Like I said, if I'm a Caster I should play like one, it's a change of pace at least."

Each of Cu's runes given his rank, carved at the speed of a single action, is equal to an A rank spell. With the prana of the leylines accessible to him, he's a magus on par with a certain Greek Witch.

So you guys trap fucking everywhere. Runes and curses and runes and curses and runes and curses. Every single one is able to be activated with the snap of a finger. With all the prana of Fuyuki at his fingertips, Cu could theoretically activate forty or fifty runes at once and have it be at the same power scale as a half-power Enuma Elish.

It goes without saying that that's pretty fucking good.

After a few hours, the runes and curses are carved everywhere, and since this is Cu's territory he can activate any and all of the runes placed here from any other point in the castle, just by willing it.

Well, with that done, you have more options left. What now?

[] Use a scrying rune and spy on other people. Time for info.
[] Ask Cu to go get that one weird monk he mentioned yesterday, check him out and maybe buff him with runes.
>>
>>34519203

Man, Bazett's probably going to be super-mad at us.
>>

Kotomine basically had two orders for Cu, but he said it in a way that allowed for a very certain follow path

Fight other servants, never go all out, find out their power, and then retreat. He's not allowed to ever fight to kill, just play pansy and then run away, which he hates.

It's an irony because with Lancer and Bazett, both of their wishes were answered with the exact opposite of what they desired all around.
>>
>>34519301
>>34519232
No he was given the order to scout out the masters and gauge how dangerous their servants were. He specifically used a command seal to make sure he played defensively.
>>
>>34519371
He wasn't a monk though, he was a teacher.
>>
>>34519385
Well see, that order can be interpreted in two ways.

Kotomine probably meant, just LOOK at them. Cu decided on a more proactive response.
>>
>>34519385
in order to do that he had to either engage them in combat or watch them fight another servant.
Unless it's arturia/diarmuid dueling while he sits on the side and watches he's likely going to end up in combat as he doesn't have presence concealment
>>
>>34519403
We was a monk first, teacher second.
>>
Your mind going back to the monk Cu mentioned yesterday, you ask him to go get him so you can take a look. Cu obliges and darts off, returning moments later with the man in hand, the stiff figure looking like a puppet with its strings cut.

You look at him as Cu releases his grip, curious. He's certainly no magus, in fact he doesn't even look like a monk, but even with the brainwashing in effect on him, you feel a certain...pressure.

"I don't know about him being a monk, Caster, but you're right about him being strong."

[] "This guy's cool. Let's buff him up and put him at the entrance to kill people who wanna mess with us. Hell, give him some stealth powers too so it's a surprise when he appears."
[] "I don't want to risk us making him stronger and then him breaking free of your spell. We should kill him."
>>
>>34519403
He lived at the temple, IIRC. I'm pretty sure he's who Lancer was talking about. :Lancer probably assumed everyone in the temple was a monk.

>>34520036
If Shirou is the master, I suggest we ally with him since he isn't after the grail, nor is he against us since we're not evildoers.

That being said, if we clear out Gilgamesh's burnt children display, we can cut off his prana supply, making him have to come out into the open
>>
>>34520095
Shirou is Red Saber's master a.k.a Nero not Arturia.
>>
You proceed to launch into an explanation of who you and Cu are, leaving out a few details here and there. You explain the basis of magecraft and your own background, as well as some rudimentary information on the Grail. Of course, you mention that only a Servant can touch the Grail, and only a magus can contract with a Servant, so that he doesn't get any ideas. You go on for a few minutes, and once you finish you open your mouth to give your next order-

"Worry no longer! The flower of the Olympiac has arrived at long last!"

A voice cuts through the air, as you, Caster, and Kuzuki all turn to face a promiscuously dressed woman who is carrying a teenage boy.

"S-Saber...you were running...way too fast..." He murmurs in shock.

"Silence Praetor. Well, I thank the three of you for building this castle for me. You are all dismissed now, I will take up my residence here posthaste!"

Killing a potential ally/pawn without warning is a foolish move at this point in the war. Alliance and betrayal is the name of the game, after all. With that in mind, you address the newcomer.

"Considering your language, I believe that this isn't the sort of castle you're used to inhabiting anyway, besides, shouldn't you be letting your master make the decisions? It isn't a symbolic name."

The red Saber looks at you quizzically for a few seconds before she states her reply.

"Foolish girl, my Praetor is not the one in charge, that is my duty as ruler!"

This personality is exceedingly eccentric.

"I...see..." You reply, "Well regardless, I'm sorry to say that this castle is likely different than what you are used to, and sadly it belongs to my partner. However, if you would like to establish a base of operations here, we could possibly consider an alliance between our two parties."

The Saber class Servant looks at you, as if perplexed that you're not just giving her your castle, before replying.

"Then I ask you, what do I gain from this?"

[] "Access to our base and resources. We can benefit from one another to wean off the competition."

We should also start thinking of how to deal with the other Servants in a fight.

Nero we can beat as long as we kill her before she can use her NP. We might lose our fame bonus inside there, so there's a decent chance we could lose, but we have plenty of ways to kill her before that happens.

Also, if the Archer is Robin, we don't really have much to worry about outside us dying, seeing as Cu's Protection from Arrows is a hard counter.

Lancelot's trickier but, especially if the fight's in our castle, between runes and our own speed we should probably be able to take it. He probably can't conceptualize castle walls as a weapon so we get an edge there.

Assassin's pretty easy if we use that deathmatch rune Cu has, so he can't be all sneaky and run off, we just need to be careful of him actually being an Assassin.

If the Rider's Medusa, it's already confirmed that Cu probably beats her, so we have a good chance I think just because of his monster-hunter affinity.

Karna's the hardest one, because Gae Bolg won't be an instakill seeing as his armor's a conceptual space instead of a shield. We could just blast through it with a lot of runes being used at once, but he has his own set of powers too. If we're in the castle though I think we have better stats, so he can't use Brahmastra at least.

Nah the Harem should be Us, Taiga, Medusa/Rider, and that one student from Shirou's school.

Ilya will be our incredibly adorable and slightly evil Little Sisterfu.

We'll hook up Cu with Rin. I think those two had some good chemistry for how little time they had together back in FSN
>>
>>34521420
It becomes one-tenth, like everything else. It still hits him, but instead of doing 100% of his health, it does 10%. And in the time we say "Gae Bolg", he can attack us too.
>>
>>34521385
Agreed with Nero but her Imperial privilege is a wild card. Don't underestimate it.

Assassin is very problematic mostly because we don't know WHICH assassin it is.

Nasu didn't really confirm Cu beating Rider, just that he has counters for her abilities. He deliberately trailed off so you know...

Yeh Karna is an annoyance. Probably in the top ten strongest heroes in existence.

Well let's not forget Karna's huge on prana drain. It takes someone Rin-level just to support him, he's like Arondight the Servant; if we can just draw the fight out we have a shot.

is it bad i kind of want to have this place carved to hell and back covered completely with runes and curses, then piss off every single servant in the war to the point where everyone goes after us simultaniously, then nuke the shit out of the castle killing literally every servant off at once?
the only one that might tank it is Karna and even then i'm not sure he would escape that unscathed and able to fight just fine against an ultra powered caster Cu who probably has the stats with all the energy by that point of having full EX rank stats in everything along with Gay Bulge Bullshit?
>>
>>34522134
Yes
>>
>>34522134
We can't overexert Cu. It's like Rin vs Sakura at the end of Heavens's Feel, Cu has a shitton of prana right now but he can't channel more than B rank MAN at any one time. If we tried to activate too many runes at once, or even one after the other, we could end up killing him.

Also, Karna can probably tank all of our runes without a scratch, because they're distinct runes instead of one big spell. Each rune is reduced to one-tenth, so 5. He has C rank magic Resistance, which works after the 1/10th effect of the armor, so the rune is completely negated.
>>
>>34522668
Now now, while I agree with most of your points, lets not get ahead of ourselves with regards to the stats of the other servants. There might be variations to their canonical stats due to their master or what have you.
>>
>>34522711
I'm just saying we can't rely on runes against Karna, as his armor basically boosts his MR from "no spell under 30 can hurt him" to "no spell under 300 can hurt him", unless his MR is lower, but even if it's E rank that means our runes won't work.

Of course, maybe he's a different class and we're being faked out. It's hard to say at this point, but Karna-Rin is a dangerous combo, and outside if Gil shows up they're probably the strongest team.
>>
>>34522787
i don't know, lancelot/Illya is stupid powerful and even with a shit tier magus Lancelot fucked Gil up in Fate/Zero
i wouldn't discount those two just yet.
>>
>>34522892
>The next count of glowing Noble Phantasms reached thirty-two. This time, even Rider kept silent. Berserker had endured a continuous attack of sixteen Noble Phantasms, but there was no way to resist twice that number. That was the same for all the other Servants. Nobody could estimate the limits of the latent power of the golden Archer anymore.

Lancelot didn't fuck up Gil. He's good, but he's nowhere near Gil's level. He exceeds at battles of the sword, and with Ilya the prana drain isn't an issue, but with our runes we've actually got a decent chance to beat them in or out of our castle. If we had Herc to contend with, or an Ilya/Karna pairing, that'd be really worrying. Of course, that doesn't mean they're not a threat, but we probably hold an advantage for now.
>>
>>34522892
Kariya was actually one of the best possible masters for Lancy. He's one of those people who's a "10" as a magus but a "100" as a Master, and actually had really good compatibility with Lancy specifically.

He doesn't have the speed to. That quote says he can handle sixteen weapons, but he's not quick enough to handle something like 32.

Kariya wasn't as bad as everyone seems to think. He'd work better for Lancelot specifically than even someone like Rin, though of course Ilya's better.

Lancelot needs to be able to conceptualize something as having a primary purpose as a weapon, so he can't even use half the stuff in Gil's vault even if he grabs it because Gil doesn't just have weapons. Besides, Gil's power isn't even swordspam, it's that he wins the compatibility game. To win we just need to exploit his personality so we don't have to get into that, but if Gil enters the stage where he just pulls out the perfect counter to everything you are, we're fucked. Lancelot's a much better counter to UBW than to GoB, he has good compatibility with GoB but he ultimately can't beat it.

Of course, how strong he is in that sense depends on if the QM is taking CCC into account or not, namely the Collector info.
