You are Alex Summers: androgynous woman, forensic psychologist, and potential mage. You're on the hunt for a superhuman serial killer, someone who's rather fond of eating their victims alive, and right now you're pretty sure these two guys are fucking with you.

(Rebellious Salmon comes before Postmodern Falcon. I can count good.)

Knowledge of Killer so far
-Female, long blonde hair.
-Appears to hunt downtown and live on the edge. Of town.
-Has three known victims so far, two male, one female.
-male victims were killed messy; their bones show a mix of human and canine teeth marks.
-female victim was drugged, bound, and vivisected, her organs stored for later consumption in her fridge and freezer.
-There have likely been two other female victims, street prostitutes
-Additionally, a rather wealthy patron of the local escort service has gone missing, presumed dead; foul play suspected.

"Okay, what the hell is going on?" you ask aloud. "I'm not exactly in a joking mood, and unless you get a good wig and some fake tits there's no way you're going to convince me that this guy,"-you point to the smiling brown man seated outside-"Is guilty of killing anything."

Moses smiles with entirely too many teeth, while the man outside retains his gentle smile. "Moses, please, you shouldn't be so mean to the lady." You can see Eva start to tense up, out of the corner of your eye. "Please, come on out, have a seat." He makes a gesture, and you step outside-the trailer was awfully cramped anyways. Eva follows, and doesn't reach for her weapon-but she's still tensed and ready to go at a moment's notice.

"I'm afraid my business associate was just playing a cruel joke on you, though there is some truth to things. You see, I am not the killer who's been making all those headlines recently, but she is a close associate of mine, so."

"Oh, yes, I forgot to introduce myself! I go by Irad, son of Enoch. Would you like a sasuage? Moses just cooked a few on the grill, they're quite nice."

"...Yeah, sure, whatever." There's a stack of some paper plates and plastic forks set out; you get a set and one of the sasuages.

"Well, Irad, what can you tell me about your friend? Anything you offer can help-we'd like to bring her in quietly, and make sure that nothing bad happens to her."

"Ah, but that'd spoil all the fun! Go on, eat, it's good!"
"I'm not doing this for fun, sir." you say, taking a bite out of the sasuage. It's pretty good stuff, actually-reminds you of the barbecues your uncle used to run, before he got shunned out of the entire family. It's warm and greasy and no doubt terrible for your heart.

"Do you know where she's staying? And if you could give us her name, that'd be a major help as well."
"I thought finding out things was supposed to be your job, detective. Do you really need me to lead you buy the hand towards the answer?"

He keeps smiling at you.

So what was the reason we can't just detain him for obstruction of justice again? Our organization apparently being all-powerful and stuff.

"...As much as I love the 'thrill of the chase' or whatever, I'd rather just stop people from murdering each other horribly. Can you at least tell me what kind of supernatural being she is? Or why she's doing this?"

"Ah, you're no fun. Well, yes, I can."
You give him a chance to continue, but a full minute passes without him saying anything else.
"...If you don't help me out here, more bodies are going to start stacking up, and more government attention is going to be focused on the supernatural elements of the city. And wizard or not, I really don't think you want to go up against a SWAT team on the warpath."

He smiles much more widely than before. "Ah, yes, well...Simply put, I wouldn't mind that at all."
"Excuse me?" You raise an eyebrow at him. "I don't follow."
"The extra attention to the supernatural. See, I and she are of the belief that mankind has forgotten what horrors lurk in the shadows of the world. We'd like to remind them."

"Uh...huh..." is all you can offer as he keeps talking.
"I will throw you a bone, though-she's a fully spiritual creature. Somewhat similar to Moses, though her human form is not her natural one. Oh, Moses-" he calls back into the trailer- "Have you invited your friends?"
"Yeeeeep." comes back from inside the trailer.

"Oh, good." Irad says, then turns back to you. "Do you have any other questions? I really must be leaving soon."

You pinch the bridge of your nose. "Please try to be...any more specific on what kind of being she is." No sense leaving him the 'yes, I can' out again.

"Ah, you're catching on. Well, she's very beautiful. Her hair is a beautiful shade of gold, and her tails are very soft to the touch when she's not supressing her presence."
"That doesn't really-"
"Oh, read a goddamn book. I'm sure you've got more than enough to figure it out now."
"...Could you tell me her name?"

He seems to think it over for a second, then calls back into the trailer. "Moses, how long until..."
"15, thirty minutes tops."
"Hmm. Yes. Well..." He looks at the ground, thinking. "It's a little bit indulgent, but...Oh, sure, what's the point of all this if you can't have fun like Blofeld. Her name is Moon Ye-Jin." Irad stands up. "I really must be going, now."
"Now hold on a second," you say, getting up after him. "From what you've told me, I need to ask you to come with me. I am a federal officer and you are sounding an awful lot like an accomplice, so please come along quietly, and we can talk this over somewhere else."

"An accomplice." He speaks the word as though it is a foreign concept to him. "Hmm, I suppose you could say that. Congratulations, miss detective, you have won the grand prize."

He draws a short symbol in the air with his hand, and there is a twinging of that mage's sense-a bolt of red shoots out, and strikes your car right through the engine block.

Irad smiles. "Now, I'm afraid we're going to have to kill you. I hope you don't mind."

>tell Eva to take Irad down

Not sure if that's wise, given the low player numbers.

>The perils of not packing for trouble.
You spent the entire last session telling us that nobody fucks with our organisation. Why would we assume that a fact-finding mission would end with someone deliberately fucking with our organisation?
>>
>>34372732
Hmmm, gambling that Eva can take this guy on her own though. Presumably Moses will need a few seconds at least to join a fight, might be better to just try and overwhelm Irad.
>>
>>34372820
Eva has actual training for WIZARD BATTLE, we don't.
>>
These are some pretty mutually incompatible options, so feel free to work out some sort of compromise, like whether to focus on Irad or Moses.

If it's any help, Eva and you are both armed with semi-automatic pistols (which are too small caliber to probably be good against werewolves), and those handy magic silver knives that are good for killing just about any sort of supernatural creature-including werewolves.
>>
>>34373354
Well shit, guess suppressing fire probably isn't going to do much then. I'll support sicking Eva at Irad, and see if she attacks from range or not - if range, support by shooting at him. Either way, get our knife ready for his buddy.
>>
>>34373354
Definitely let Eva attack Irad, as for ourself and Moses I don't really have a great idea. I guess just pulling our knife and try to make sure we get between him and the other two.

"Eva, get him."
You and she both draw your guns in smooth, practiced motions, and each send a double tap towards Irad's chest. The bullets strike something in front of him, and a blue wall briefly shimmers into existence, before fading back out.

"And there goes one. You know, you did catch me somewhat by surprise, I'm afraid I'm not fully prepared for extended combat...But, this should be more than enough."

He opens fire on Eva with more of those red bolts, but his aim is poor and she's already moving to take cover in the woods. Meanwhile, you draw your knife and move towards the trailer, preparing for Moses's assault-and right on cue, a nine foot over-muscled thing covered in black fur slips out the back door and runs into the yard. You're behind him, for the moment, but he's noticed Irad has Eva pinned and is already starting to turn around.

Moses in his new form is built like a freight train. His hands end in claws, his mouth is full of glistening white fangs-but he's a little bit too slow to catch you.

While he turns around to face you, you dive in and stab at his leg with your knife; it strikes home, and sinks deep into his thigh. He goes to strike at you, but you pull it out and jump away from him as he does so.

Moses is left holding his leg and snarling in pain from the attack. He's not used to that sort of treatment...

Irad is running towards one of the cars that hasn't been shot through-it's probably his. Eva keeps shooting at him, and he's deflecting it with that darn forcefield of his while keeping her pinned with his magic bolt things.

As you watch, he switches up tactics slightly, and fires another bolt-this time, it blows through the tree, and you hear a yelp of pain from Eva.

>Go check on Eva
>fire on Irad
>Keep attacking Moses
>Write-in

And a 3d6 for those last two options. Lower is better.
>>

He's in a lot of hurt, but not completely downed. You could get away while he's griping about his leg, but he's still got fight in him.

Does anyone else feel like this combat just kind of came out of nowhere? I'm not really enjoying it.

>>34374634
Eh, I don't really see the problem with it coming out of nowhere? It is somewhat...I guess unengaging, though, simply because we have no real concept of what anyone involved in this fight is capable off except kinda Alex, so it's basically pure guesswork.

Irad starts to get into his car, and you shoot at him; his attention is in Eva's direction, and though he's got the car door in the way, there's a sound of pain as he revs up the engine. He peels out of there, while you rush over towards Eva.

She's...not looking real good. There's a hole in her side, with bits of wood in it. She's putting pressure on it and breathing deeply, but there's still entirely too much blood seeping out from under her fingers and rolling down her skin.

Eva looks straight into your eyes as you examine the wound. "Get the other one. They have reinforcements, coming..." Her speech is pained. "I cannot perform in melee combat now."

Looking past the tree, you can see the giant black wolf-man that is Moses testing his leg, carefully putting some weight on it-then deciding against that, and slowly limping over towards you. His leg's wrecked, but if he gets close enough to put his hands on you, that's bad news...

>Shoot moses in the leg some
>Go dispatch him with your knife
>Grab eva and try to hotwire a car
>Search the trailer for keys
>go call for backup

First four options require rolling.

We should go for a car while firing at his injured leg. It might be more susceptible to regular ol' bullets. Just gotta hope we can wire something.
>>
>>34375184

You fire some shots at Moses's leg. They're wide, but they put some pressure on him, halting his advance while he puts his arms up to try to shield his body. While he's blocked like that, you gesture for Eva to get to Moses's truck. Seeing as it doesn't have a hole through the front, it looks like it's your ticket out of here.

Eva breaks the window with the butt of her gun and lets herself in behind you, while you keep shooting at Moses. A few shots land on his torso, but the wounds from those start smoking and close up almost as soon as they're inflicted. You get into the car and crack open the steering column to try to hotwire it; it can't be that hard, can it?

As you start fiddling about with the wires, Eva leans over and guides your hands to two in particular. Some cutting and touching later, the engine comes to life!

You execute a textbook three-point turn to get out of there, with the first of the points being fifteen feet past Moses's chest. He doesn't seem to enjoy your driving very much. There is a sickening crunch as you hit him, and he is still squirming on his back as you peel on outta there at top speed.

You toss Eva your cellphone, and she makes the call to John.
"Sir, we ran into some slight trouble with Moses."
"SLIGHT?!" You find yourself yelling. "He and his laser-buddy tried to kill us!"
"...Alex is not happy with him." Eva is quiet while John talks back. "...Yes, sir. I was injured, and will require medical attention...If you can divert attention, the hospital will be fine."

The woods darken as you go, the afternoon sun dimmed further by the thick tree cover. Night comes fast out here, and there's no streetlights to help out along the way. Howling echoes through the forest as you fly down the dirt roads. Thoughts of the speed limit don't even enter your mind.

Still, you're alive. And Eva will make it, too...You relax your grip on the steering wheel of your stolen ride slightly, and take a deep breath.

Things are getting complicated...

I think I'm gonna end it here for the night. I might need to rework my running schedule some, so that I can cover the remaining territory before I have to quit...

...You should have more than enough information to identify what kind of supernatural creature is doing the killings, now. So have fun with that!
