Sorry for the sudden change in days. With classes starting soon, Monday no longer became a good day to run.
__________________________________________________________________

Here you are, John Smith, IS pilot and now not the only male that can pilot one. Sitting in class listening to the new transfer student's finish her introduction.

“I will not accept you.” Laura mumbles in german below her breathe. You simply have no idea what this petite, silver haired girl's problem is or what she is going on about.

“Take your seat there, Bodewig-san.” Ms Orimura tells her.

“Understood Instructor.” Laura replies and quickly takes her seat at the rear of the classroom.

Ms Yamada starts with the typical lesson but throughout the morning you can't help but feel that someone is staring daggers at you. You cannot turn around to see who since you are at the front of the class, so you just deal with it. Ms Yamada stops her lesson once lunch time rolls around and you feel that the staring has stopped, letting you finally relax.

“So what is her problem?” Houki asks you when she is walks next to you.

“I have no idea.” you reply to her.

“Are you sure you did nothing? Surely she cannot be sore over something you did in the past? If you did anything.” Cecilia asks once she gets over to where you and Houki are.

Well, we have a friendship with Britaboo that consists of good-natured ribbing, Houki is an order of magnitude less bitchy than canon, and Char is a bro (we still haven't found out that he's a she yet). Rin's still a cunt for now, though.
Oh, and those three girls that are obsessed with snacks? They're in our study group.

[]Well she did mumble something about not accepting you

“Well I am not sure what her problem is. But she did mumble something about not accepting me or something.” you reply to their query as you get up from your seat.

“Ah could it be karma.” Charles states as the four of you make it to the cafeteria.

“Karma? Could it be that you did something to her at your old school?” Houki asks.

“What? No. I was too focused on my studies to pay attention to girls. Sure my school was co-ed but I was really working towards the aerospace program. Besides I never met her before in my life.” you reply quickly as not to cause a misunderstanding.

“You went to a co-ed school?” Cecilia asks with a strange focus.

“Yeah. Pretty normal in the US.” you answer.

“Oh.” Cecilia responds still with that focus.

Cecilia is being strangely curious about the co-ed part. Maybe she is wondering if you have a long distance relationship. “Hmm, could it be you are curious if I have a girl back in the states?” you say in a teasing tone.

“Well um, I am curious.” Cecilia responds a bit flustered.

“Oh you don't have to worry. I don't have anyone like that.” you continue to tease her with a smile. Cecilia ends up a bit a bit more flustered.

“Yup it's karma.” Charles follows up.

“Karma.” Houki says in agreement.

You just shake your head and smile at their responses. The cafeteria isn't any more crowded that usual, so there isn't much of a wait. Half way through, Charles brings up that free practice with the IS' is the next class.

“Since free practice time is next. I think it would be a good opportunity to have a practice duel between the two of us.” Charles asks you.

“You sure? I don't want to stress myself out too much. After all we did have plans to practice together after class today.” you respond.

“But John you said you would teach me cooking. And according to your schedule Wednesdays and Saturdays are free.” Cecilia says with a bit of a pout.

“Actually I was thinking of using our normal practice time for your cooking lessons.” you answer Cecilia who only seems to pout even more.

[]Have the duel with Charles and teach Cecilia after school if both are fine with it

“I know. Charles since you arrived less than a week ago, you still must be suffering jet lag. So how about we have the duel during practice. Then you can get some sleep after school. I remember how much of a drag it was when I first arrived here, having to catch up and not getting enough sleep. This way you can get the sleep you need and both you and Cecilia are happy.” you say.

“Well you are right that I'm not getting enough sleep. Thanks John for worrying about me.” Charles responds a bit more happy than what you would have thought. Guess he was more tired than you thought.

“Well I am happy with such an arrangement.” Cecilia responds proudly.

“Only until Charles has caught up with his sleep. I did give my word about the schedule we set up.” you say to Cecilia.

Once the four of you finish lunch you head to the stadium locker rooms. None of you want to be late since Ms Orimura has special lessons for those students that are late for her class. You and Charles enter the locker room and get changed. Charles gets changed quicker than you. You should ask how he does it so quickly. You finish changing and head out seeing that your classmates and the girls from class 1-B are also here. Guess it's another joint practice.

The start of the free practice is announced when Ms Orimura announces over the stadium intercom, “Feel free to practice in a manner you see fit. Don't do anything stupid either, unless you want auxiliary lessons.”

“So John, what should we start off with?” Charles asks after Ms Orimura's announcement.

[]Get familiarized with Charles' equipment for his IS

“How about we talk about our IS' first. This way we won't have problems when the duel starts.” you answer Charles.

“Yeah that seems like a good way to start.” Charles responds.

Both of you active your IS', Charles with the Rafale Revive Custom II and you with the Maeve. You see Houki, Cecilia and Rin join you while half of the class does sword swinging practice in the in the Uchiganes provided.

“How about you start John.” Charles says to you.

“Alright. Maeve is currently equipped with a Gram railgun, Caladbolg heavy claymore, 2 Razors CIWS, a Mossberg autoshotgun and a Pilum rocket launcher.” You bring out and show each of you weapons to him.

“Americans and guns. It is quite fitting for you John.” Charles responds with bit of a smile.

“Well there is also Fragarch but that's in service currently.” you respond. When you say Fragarch, both Rin and Cecilia shutter.

“I for one am glad I am John's close ally.” Cecilia says a bit unnerved.

“If you ever shoot that at me, I'll haunt you from beyond the grave.” Rin says as she points at you.

Guess both of them being on the receiving end must have unsettled them. And you did kind of destroy a ¼ of the stadium during the last fight. “Currently have the Maeve's other bus slots with some additional equipment. Those just help to further increase it's speed and maneuverability.” you continue.

“What about Maeve's one off ability?” Charles asks you.

“Oh that? Reinforce why don't you say hello.” you say.

<Hello> Reinforce prompts up from a holo display on your forearm.

“Guess she is a bit shy.” you respond, “Reinforce is my AI support and partner. All the Maeve models have an AI as their special ability. So far Reinforce has been a great help.”

“Hey isn't that cheating? Having someone to help you?” Rin asks.

“No, unless you counting having lots of drones or having a gun that can fire in any direction, cheating.” you respond curtly.

“John maybe we could pool our resources together. I think with your skill and with Reinforce's help we could improve our synergy with the use of my laser drones.” Cecilia states.

“Hmm maybe, that would be something we could try out during practice.” you respond, “Now your turn Charles.”

“Well as you know Rafale Revive is still only a second generation IS, that means I don't have a one off ability. But I have customized mine with additional bus slots. I have 2 25mm Vert assault rifles, 2 20mm short Garm submachine guns, 2 9 gauge Rain on Saturday shotgun with Bread slicer knife. And a combo of Garden Curtain shield with Gray Scale CQC pile driver to round out my armament.” Charles lists off.

“Not bad. Sounds like we would work out well together with the massive amount of lead we can dish out. Funny though we both have a Gram weapon. Guess everyone loves naming weapons after mythology.” you say.

“Hehehe you are right. So how about we start the duel then?” Charles asks.

“Sure” you answer. You both then take your places on the side of the stadium away from where the other girls are practicing. You see Rin, Cecilia and Houki take a safe position up on the launching ramp nearest to you.

“Let's begin.” Charles says starting the mock duel

[]Immediately return fire

In the tense moment you both stare down each other. An instant later you deploy Garm with Charles deploying his assault rifle and fire. You both hit each other, Charles begins to burn towards you and you pour your thrust downward to get up in the air as quickly as possible. While in ascent you return fire with Gram. You get a good hit before he reacts and uses his slower speed and the ground to jump in different directions quickly enough to dodge your fire.

“Not bad.” you tell Charles over comms.

“Not bad yourself.” he replies.

He return fire but to not much effect. The Maeve can easily dodge fire from this distance. You continue to fire at Charles with Gram with mixed effect. He seems to have the advantage at down there and you want to change that.

You have the height and speed advantage so you might as well use it. You give yourself covering fire and being to thrust downward. Charles sensing something is up as you change directions, deploys both of his rifles and empties the mags of both his rifles at you. In turn you return fire but purposely miss some of your shots to kick up some dust to cover your attack. When you are less than 50 meters from the ground, you switch to your autoshotgun loaded with slug shells and fire. Thanks to your improved sensors, most of your slugs hit him with good accuracy til you hear them start pinging off his shield.

“Smart to purposely kick up a dust cloud to cover your attack. Too bad for you I know how to deal with this.” Charles says over the comms.

You see him with both of his shotguns out in his hands. The withering fire you receive knock a good bit out of your shields. It would have done more damage if you didn't boost away from him and continue to fire. As you fire with your shotgun, the shells are just being deflected away. His fire on the other hand catches you with the buck shots even when you dodge to your left, perpendicular to his firing lanes. Once your autoshotgun's magazine is empty, you switch to your Gram and aim at the parts not protected by the shield.

<Adjusting aim for better accuracy.> Reinforce prompts on the HUD.

This time your shots connect and he is unable to deflect them with his shield. Charles instead opts to burn towards you switching to his SMGs. You are able to dodge some of the fire but down here you are at a disadvantage to him. Not enough room to turn and burn and use your maneuverability to its fullest. While you can use your better acceleration to keep your distance, it is rather hard to keep up your volume of fire up. As you boost to your right, you see Charles quickly spin around using the ground and go straight for you kicking up some of the ground from the jump boost in the process.

<Warning incoming high speed projectile> Reinforce prompts, with an indicator showing it is coming from behind.

“Shit. Charles break off.” you yell at him. You quickly boost to your forward right and he instead stops and does a quick reverse boost. “What the hell.” you mutter to yourself as you turn to see who fired at you. You see that silver haired german girl deployed in a black IS. Your HUD indicates it was her, Laura Bodewig, was the one that fired at you mid duel.

[]Return fire, sounds like she wants a 2v1 fight

“Charles lets show her what happens when Germany gets uppity.” you say to him over the comms, “Allied Powers go!”

You quickly level your rifle at her and fire squarely center of mass. Charles quickly changes from his SMGs to his assault rifles and fire both of them at the same time.

“How impudent of you.” Laura yells at you over the comms. The shoulder mounted gun quickly takes aim at you and after a brief charge up time fires. You easily dodge but the impact from the large gun leaves a small crater into the ground.

“What are you three idiots doing? Knock it off right now and save it for the tournament coming up.” you hear Ms Orimura voice blare over the stadium's sound system. All three of you stop firing once you hear her, you do not want to go against Ms Orimura's orders.

“I'll stand down for now.” Laura says coolly over the comms and deactivates her IS and begins to walk away.

“Guess that's it for now.” you say to Charles.

“I suppose you are right. It was quite rude of her to interrupt us. I would have won if she didn't.” Charles says as he meets up with you near Houki, Cecilia and Rin.

“I wouldn't be so sure of that. Sure you might have gotten me good a couple of times but I help back, didn't want to use HE around all the girls here.” you respond.

“What an American not taking the opportunity to blow up everything? What is this world coming to.” Charles responds as he shakes his head.

You start laughing from the joke. Charles does the same in a bit more reserved manner.

“You two are really getting along.” Houki says.

“Nothing wrong with that. It's nice to have friends.” you respond to Houki as you deactivate your IS. “Anyway Charles, your IS is really good down near the ground. It was a pain with that shield blocking a good bit of your body.” you follow up.

“My body? Ahh right, the shield. But yes, I decided that close and mid ranges would be the best here since in Japan close combat IS' are very common.” Charles responds.

“Yeah that seems to be bit of my weak point. I am pretty good up in the air at long and medium range but near the ground it's rather hard to stay as maneuverable, 2d vs 3d movement.” you respond.

“Yes, I could tell. But still you did quite a number. Guess even being focused on close ranges, still can't make up for being high speed with lots of firepower.” Charles concedes.

“Not like that matters. When John and I are partnered no one could even thing of getting close.” Cecilia says to the group proudly.

“Wrong he needs someone to cover his weakness at close range. He needs someone that can prevent other from getting close so he can bring out all of his skills.” Houki brings up.

“But Houki that would require someone to have an IS with close or melee capability. Not like you have one available.” Cecilia responds starting down Houki. Houki in turn stares back while frowning.

“You two knock it.” you say after you sigh, “Both strategies have merit. In aeriel combat Cecilia's strategy would preform better. And Houki's strategy would be better suit in a fight like I just had with Charles, where being at range is harder.”

Both of them stopped staring and turn away from each other.

“Sounds like you have your hands full John.” Charles says in a cupped hand towards your ear.

The four of you continue to talk about strategy and IS equipment for the rest of the practice.

As you split up to head to the locker rooms, Cecilia pulls you aside.

“John I already have a room booked with all the ingredients I would think we would need but it needs a little time to set up. So don't be too late.” Cecilia says to you.

“I wouldn't think of it.” you respond confidently. Cecilia smiles at your response and happily walks off to the Women's locker rooms.

“Don't bet on it, baka baka.” Rin responds with a smile and taunt.

You finally reach your locker room and you see Charles already changed.

“Thanks again for today John. I really enjoyed myself.” Charles says to you, strange that he has his back to you while he said that.

“No problem, it was fun to have a guy around and bullshit around with.” you say to him in the middle of undressing. “Anyway head back and get some sleep.” you follow up with.

“Thanks John. It really is nice of you to look out for me.” Charles says with obvious gratitude in his voice. He then leaves to the dorms to get some sleep.

You take a quick shower to rinse off all the sweat from the duel and head to the room Cecilia booked. On the way you hear some voices off to the side, you think you hear Ms Orimura and a student. Kind of hard to tell unless you get closer.

“But Instructor, why waste your time here teaching students who think that an IS is just a fashion accessory. Or think it let's him play soldier.” Laura says to Ms Orimura in a rather emotional tone.

“I'm not going to repeat myself. I have duties here.” Ms Orimura responds in an even tone.

“What duty do you have here to this island? You should be back in Germany with us, instructing us. The students here are not worthy of your time and yet you devote your time to them.” Laura continues in that emotional tone.

“Leave it at that. Do you think you are so special yourself in the time since I taught you girls? Or that you are the chosen one?” Ms Orimura continues in that even tone.

“But I..” Laura stammers out.

“Go back to your dorms. I'm busy.” Ms Orimura finishes.

Laura runs off once Ms Orimura finishes speaking, Ms Orimura doesn't even move an inch. Once Laura is out of sight, you try to creep away but stopped by Ms Orimura.

“Do all American's make it a habit to listen in on other people's conversations?” Ms Orimura obviously says to you even if you were hiding.

“Well I...”

[]Well I am trying to figure out why Laura seems to hate me

“Well I am trying to figure out why Laura seems to hate me so much.” you answer Ms Orimura.

“Hate would be the wrong word, boy. Let's just leave it at not everyone can just pick up an IS against all odds and be able to use it under extreme conditions.” Ms Orimura says to you.

“So she doesn't hate me because I'm a guy then. At least there is that. “ you respond with a sigh of relief.

“You should get going.” Ms Orimura says as she walks away,” Just remember not everyone is as fortunate as you.”

You take her advice, after all you have plans with Cecilia. You quickly make it to where Cecilia is. You enter the room to see Cecilia and a cornucopia of ingredients all over the table.

“I hope I am not late Cecilia. Just had something that popped up that involved Laura Bodewig” you say to her.

“Ah I hope she wasn't rude to you again.” Cecilia says a bit shocked.

“Nah, just got some information that I hope can at least calm her down.” you respond, “I don't like it how she is causing problems. Now putting that aside where should we begin.”

>[]Sandwiches, we must quickly rectify that problem
There is an art to the business of making sandwiches which it is given to few ever to find the time to explore in depth. It is a simple task, but the opportunities for satisfaction are many and profound: choosing the right bread for instance. The Sandwich Maker had spent many months in daily consultation and experiment with Grarp the baker and eventually they had between them created a loaf of exactly the consistency that was dense enough to slice thinly and neatly, while still being light, moist and having that fine nutty flavour which best enhanced the savour of roast Perfectly Normal Beast flesh.

There was also the geometry of the slice to be refined: the precise relationships between the width and height of the slice and also its thickness which would give the proper sense of bulk and weight to the finished sandwich: here again, lightness was a virtue, but so too were firmness, generosity and that promise of succulence and savour that is the hallmark of a truly intense sandwich experience.

The proper tools, of course, were crucial, and many were the days that the Sandwich Maker, when not engaged with the Baker at his oven, would spend with Strinder the Tool Maker, weighing and balancing knives, taking them to the forge and back again. Suppleness, strength, keenness of edge, length and balance were all enthusiastically debated, theories put forward, tested, refined, and many was the evening when the Sandwich Maker and the Tool Maker could be seen silhouetted against the light of the setting sun and the Tool Maker's forge making slow sweeping movements through the air trying one knife after another, comparing the weight of this one with the balance of another, the suppleness of a third and the handle binding of a fourth.

Three knives altogether were required. First there was the knife for the slicing of the bread: a firm, authoritative blade which imposed a clear and defining will on a loaf. Then there was the butter-spreading knife, which was a whippy little number but still with a firm backbone to it. Early versions had been a little too whippy, but now the combination of flexibility with a core of strength was exactly right to achieve the maximum smoothness and grace of spread.

The chief amongst the knives, of course, was the carving knife. This was the knife that would not merely impose its will on the medium through which it moved, as did the bread knife; it must work with it, be guided by the grain of the meat, to achieve slices of the most exquisite consistency and translucency, that would slide away in filmy folds from the main hunk of meat. The Sandwich Maker would then flip each sheet with a smooth flick of the wrist on to the beautifully proportioned lower bread slice, trim it with four deft strokes and then at last perform the magic that the children of the village so longed to gather round and watch with rapt attention and wonder. With just four more dexterous flips of the knife he would assemble the trimmings into a perfectly fitting jigsaw of pieces on top of the primary slice. For every sandwich the size and shape of the trimmings were different, but the Sandwich Maker would always effortlessly and without hesitation assemble them into a pattern which fitted perfectly. A second layer of meat and a second layer of trimmings, and the main act of creation would be accomplished.
>>
>>34356112
The Sandwich Maker would pass what he had made to his assistant who would then add a few slices of newcumber and fladish and a touch of splagberry sauce, and then apply the topmost layer of bread and cut the sandwich with a fourth and altogether plainer knife. It was not that these were not also skilful operations, but they were lesser skills to be performed by a dedicated apprentice who would one day, when the Sandwich Maker finally laid down his tools, take over from him. It was an exalted position and that apprentice, Drimple, was the envy of his fellows. There were those in the village who were happy chopping wood, those who were content carrying water, but to be the Sandwich Maker was very heaven.

And so the Sandwich Maker sang as he worked.

He was using the last of the year's salted meat. It was a little past its best now, but still the rich savour of Perfectly Normal Beast meat was something unsurpassed in any of the Sandwich Maker's previous experience. Next week it was anticipated that the Perfectly Normal Beasts would appear again for their regular migration, whereupon the whole village would once again be plunged into frenetic action: hunting the Beasts, killing perhaps six, maybe even seven dozen of the thousands that thundered past. Then the Beasts must be rapidly butchered and cleaned, with most of the meat salted to keep it through the winter months until the return migration in the spring, which would replenish their supplies.

The very best of the meat would be roasted straight away for the feast that marked the Autumn Passage. The celebrations would last for three days of sheer exuberance, dancing and stories that Old Thrashbarg would tell of how the hunt had gone, stories that he would have been busy sitting making up in his hut while the rest of the village was out doing the actual hunting.

And then the very, very best of the meat would be saved from the feast and delivered cold to the Sandwich Maker. And the Sandwich Maker would exercise on it the skills that he had brought to them from the gods, and make the exquisite Sandwiches of the Third Season, of which the whole village would partake before beginning, the next day, to prepare themselves for the rigours of the coming winter.

Today he was just making ordinary sandwiches, if such delicacies, so lovingly crafted, could ever be called ordinary. Today his assistant was away so the Sandwich Maker was applying his own garnish, which he was happy to do. He was happy with just about everything in fact.

He sliced, he sang. He flipped each slice of meat neatly on to a slice of bread, trimmed it and assembled all the trimmings into their jigsaw. A little salad, a little sauce, another slice of bread, another sandwich, another verse of Yellow Submarine.

[]Sandwiches, we must quickly rectify that problem

“I know where will start, sandwiches. The last time I ate one of your sandwiches I don't know what I ate.” you tell Cecilia.

“That is quite rude, John.” Cecilia says with a pout.

“Number One: Constructive criticism is not a bad thing. Number Two: That just means I get to teach you, just the two of us here.” you respond.

“Well I suppose you are right, it is just the two of us. Cecilia says without the pouting.

“Now let's start with a classic, a BLT.” you tell her.

You first get all the ingredients together and prepare them. So far so good, Cecilia has a good handle on cutting and toasting the bread.

“Ah what are you doing to the bacon.” you tell Cecilia as you quickly grab her hand trying to add something to the skillet.

“I was just adding this so that it would like the picture in the recipe book.” Cecilia answers to you slightly confused.

“Denied.” you say promptly.

“But it will not turn out right.” Cecilia shoots back.

“Wrong, bacon does not need anything. Bacon is perfect just by itself and is often the bases for so many good dishes. It does not need anything.” you say to shut her down.

Hmm that could be a problem if she continues, but that is what the lessons are for. She easily assembles the toast, slightly buttered, the lettuce, the sliced tomatoes, and bacon in the correct order. Looking good so far. You slice the sandwich in half and hold up a half.

“Now say ahh.” you tell Cecilia.

Cecilia takes a bite from the half you are holding. “Ahh this is good. You are right I should take more lessons from you after school.” she says smiling.

You take a bite from the same sandwich, yup tastes right. You feed Cecilia the rest of that half and have the other half. You move onto the next sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich.

Cecilia once again does well in the preparation with the bread, and buttering it up. But you have to stop her again when she tries to add something strange to the cheese.

“Denied again Cecilia.” you quickly say to her as you stop her from adding another strange ingredient.

“But it won't look like in the picture.” Cecilia says with a slight pout.

“That's fine, the picture is there to make it look appeasing so you will make and eat it. Those pictures tend to be specifically set up so it looks as good. Besides the cooking instructions are right here.” you tell her.

She listens to your lesson and doesn't do anything more strange to the cheese and ham sandwich. She has a little problem with the pan but nothing to cause concern. Once again you cut the sandwich in half and feed it to her. Cecilia is enjoying the lessons at least.

“Ah you missed a spot.” you say to her as you grab and bit of melted cheese next to her lips and eat it. Cecilia starts blushing madly, you just give her a teasing smile in return.

You both quickly finish off the sandwich. The next sandwich next is an egg sandwich. Should be hard. This time she has no problems preparing or bring the sandwich together. Nothing strange added. Preparing the eggs on the other hand.

“Be careful, eggs burn easily and are a bit awkward to handle.” you tell her as she is cooking the scrambled eggs.

“Ahh the eggs are falling apart.” Cecilia says as she is trying to flip the eggs over.

You quickly get behind her and put your right hand over hers while your left arm around her waist. You hold her close and lightly give a flick of the wrist to the skillet to bring the egg over and comfortably back into it. Once that was said and done, you slowly try and let go of Cecilia but she doesn't let you. Instead she uses her free hand takes put it over you left hand and leans back onto you. Man she smells really good, crap don't get a boner. And her waist was easy to get your arm around her, and so very soft, dammit don't get a boner.

“Just stay like this John.” Cecilia says to you, you think there was a bit of a tremble in her voice.

You say nothing and just cook the eggs together. The sandwich is slowly assembled, you can't but feel embarrassed over how you held onto her. You feed her half and you have the other half. More time passed than you thought and you have to finish the lesson there. You and Cecilia clean up and put away the ingredients properly. You escort her back to her dorm while she hold onto your arm.

“John I really enjoyed the lesson.” Cecilia says blushing and what appears to be a bit tired.

“I uh enjoyed it too.” you reply still embarrassed, “Good night Cecilia.”

“Good night John.” Cecilia to you as she slowly enter her dorm and lightly closes her door.

You start walking back to your room after Cecilia closes the door. Well that was quite the lesson you think, it wasn't exactly all about sandwiches. But you don't mind the slight change in the curriculum. After 4 flights of stairs, why did they assign you to the top floor, you see Houki by your door.

“Something the matter Houki?” you ask her, “Could it be you are feeling lonely? Are you getting along with your new roommate?”

“Huh? Well she an I are getting along. She has these fashion magazines that I have found quite informative.” Houki answers.

“I'm glad to hear that, was a bit worried about how you would handle a new roommate.” you say, relieved in the back of you mind.

“You were worried?” Houki asks.

“Of course I am, you are someone I care for after all.” you tell her honestly.

“Umu.” Houki responds with a bright smile. “Ah that isn't why I am here.” she says after something she must have just remembered. “If I win the Tournament, you will go on a date with me.” Houki says to you with resolution in her voice.

[]Tell her she has it backwards, if YOU win, you get to go out on a date with her.

“Wrong. You have it backwards Houki .You mean if I win, I will take you out on a date.” you tell in response to her challenge. After all even with the whole IS reveal making women take an even more prominent role in the world, you won't accept it if a girl does this. Besides you want to win the tournament coming up at the end of the month.

“What? Well um.” Houki mutters, she didn't see this coming. “Fine, but if you lose you'll have to under a new Kendo training regiment I have. Every morning for a month while I watch over you making sure you do it properly.” Houki says regaining her resolution.

“Agreed. If I lose, I'll do as you say.” you tell her with confidence.

“Then it is agreed.” Houki respond with that resolution.

After the agreement, Houki walks off smiling to herself, quite proud of herself. Guess she was wavering a bit about the whole challenge. You head into your dorm. Lights off and no one in the shower. Looks like you didn't wake up Charles with the whole challenge talk. You feeling the day catch up to you, you decide to take a quick shower and head to bed. You have to stay well rested, you have a tournament to win after all.
