Seeing as how you're already in the pool, everybody follows suit. Charlotte, Lucina, and Holly gathered around the diving board, while Amy and Jake appeared to be getting into some sort of race. Mac was just chilling out in the jacuzzi and Karen seemed comfortable just sunbathing in one of the recliner seats.

Well, YOU TOTALLY WEREN'T scared. Without any words, you climb out of the pool, walk past the girls, and just start climbing the ladder up, reminding yourself not to look down. After quite a bit of climbing, you're at the top, with the diving board extending into the sky. Down below was the deep blue of the pool.

You were also acutely aware everybody's eyes were on you.

You take a deep breath. You weren't scared. In fact, you visualized the diving board as a mobile suit launch ramp. Yeah, you were the Gundam, being prepared to launch into battle. You can totally do this!

Karen puts up a good fight, but unfortunately, she just can't quite seem to dislodge Amy, even with all of the extra momentum you're giving her. Amy and Jake stand their ground, with Jake widening his stance to take the brunt of the impact. Amy, meanwhile, easily shoves Karen off your shoulders and she gives a brief yelp before falling into the water.

"Yay!" Amy grins. "Gotta work out a little more, Karen. Those noodly arms of yours are not going to do you any good!"

Everybody laughs. You spend quite some time just messing about in the pool. Karen tries a few more rematches. She does... fairly well. If you call a 1-6 record against Amy good. Of course, things changed when Lucina got involved, and she pretty much demolished EVERYONE.

It's then that you notice one of the servents standing at the poolside. Charlotte takes a brief break from the action and swims over to him.

"Lady Rafale, the programming that you requested me to inform you of will be starting shortly." He says simply.

"Oh... OH!" Charlotte's eyes light up. "Guys, GUYS! Some of the international Gunpla qualifier finals are starting up! Anybody want to come watch?"

You look around. It was pretty late afternoon by now, and the sun was visibly starting to go down. However, you judge that you at least have another hour or two of decent sunlight left.

"Yeah, there's a TV in the pool house, so we can watch on that." Charlotte says, climbing out of hte pool as well and drying herself off with a towel. "Let's go!"

You and the rest of the team, plus Holly, enter the pool house's massive living room, where you side a very, VERY large flatscreen set up on the wall. You had to stay calm, and keep your jealousy from rising.

"Hot damn this is a real sweet pool house!" Mac grins. "Whoa! There's even a freaking bar!"

"No." Lucina grabs Mac by the shoulder.

"Aw, party pooper." Mac pouts.

"Amazing..." Amy whistles as she looks around. "

"Yeah yeah, get it all out of your systems." Charlotte sighs and picks up a remote control, activating the TV. The first program that comes up is what looks to be a reply of SD Gundam.

"I HAVE NO IDEA WHY IT WAS ON THAT CHANNEL." Charlotte says quickly and loudly as she flips to another random channel. Sure, Charlotte, deny it all you want.

"Really, man? The poor guy just can't catch a break." Mac shakes his head.

"I get a bit of perverse pleasure watching him lose horribly. I don't know why." You shrug.

"Yeah, he's way funnier when he loses." Holly nods.

"Am I missing something here?" Amy frowns.

"Yeah, what's up?" Jake asks.

"Well," You grin. "IT all started back in the 7th World Tourney. "Cziommer looked like he was on a hot streak. Breezed through the qualifiers and looked dead set to at least place high in the finals."

"And I presume he didn't." Amy guessed.

"What? You never saw it?!" You look at her perplexed. "Anyways, Cziommer gets into the World Tourney, and gets his ass whomped repeatedly. Apart from the first game, he didn't win a SINGLE match. Almost pretty tragic. I think he got cursed after that, too, since for the 8th and 9th, he always got defeated in the final round of qualifiers."

"Harsh." Jake frowns.

"Anyways, I wonder who he's up against now."

"Hello, Gunpla fans!" A hyper, pink haired girl says happily. You recognize her as Kirara, the Gundam Idol. "If you've just tuned in, the final round for the German Gunpla Qualifiers is about to start! First up, we have our Tourney veteran Rain Cziommer with his Big Bigro!"

You see the lanky, red haired battler step up to the battle table, a rather large mobile armor Gunpla in his hands. He gives a cocky grin and waves to the crowd.

"Even though he's had some lousy luck in the last couple of years, maybe he'll be able to turn it around this year! Or not."

Cziommer then shoots a nasty look at the camera as if he had heard that remark.

"Continuing on," Kirara says, completely ignoring Cziommer's glare, "is a relative newcomer to the tournament, Laura Schwarz!"

You then see a young, white haired girl with an eyepatch march up to the table with almost military precision. She snaps a sharp salute to the judge, who gives her a confused look before awkwardly returning the salute.

"Schwarz here pilots the Loto Leopard!"

You see the German girl set down a Loto, that looks to be painted grey. Instead of the standard two shoulder mounted cannons, it sports one, massive cannon over one shoulder, while the other seems to have a counterweight and optic system. The arms you see are modified into really wicked looking claws.

Both fighters nod to each other and place their Gunpla on the table.

"So who do you think is going to win?" Charlotte asks.

Well, you do want to go right ahead and say the new girl would, but some part of you kinda feels for Cziommer. Besides, you'd get more amusement from him if he managed to reach the finals...

"Really?" You blink

"Yeah, on one of my parents' business trips. Stopped by in Berlin for a couple weeks and I think I saw her there. Maybe. My memory on that time is a bit fuzzy."

"Is she a formidable fighter?" Lucina asks, clearly interested.

"I dunno, maybe? It was at a time where I could really Gunpla battle as much, and I don't think she really knew about the hobby then, either. However, if she did pick it up, I'm pretty sure she'd practice to perfection. You know, all that German military precision."

The battle soon begins. Cziommer flies straight out the gate with his Bigro. The giant mobile armor stalks the desert dunes, looking for its quarry. Suddenly, a cannon shot rings out, and a flying shell zooms in and bounces off the Bigro's sloped armor. The mobile are is sent spinning, but is otherwise unharmed. You frown. With a projectile cannon like that, firing at maximum range meant it would lose a lot of momentum. Why would she shoot prematurely like that instead of waiting for the Bigro to get closer?

Sniffing blood in the water, the Bigro makes a sharp turn and barrels forward at full speed launching a shower of missiles that sends explosions rippling across the desert ridge the cannon shot originated from.

And there's the Loto, completely out in the open. The cannon fires again with aloud BOOM, but this time Cziommer manages to dodge it and the Bigro fires its beam cannon and incinerates the Loto.

"A decoy?" Charlotte frowned.

"She attached her cannon to the decoy to convince him it was the real thing." Lucina nodded. "That means she must be..."

Suddenly, the REAL Loto Leopard burst from the sand underneath the Bigro. Cziommer had no possible way of knowing where it was before the Loto started digging its claws directly into the Mobile Armor's underbelly. The Bigro tried to gain altitude to get away, but the Loto takes one last swipe at the Bigro's innards, taking out something important as the Bigro spins out of control and slams into the soft sand. The Loto then aims an arm mounted rocket launcher at the crippled Bigro and fires off two missiles, blowing the thing to pieces.

WINNER: LOTO LEOPARD

"Well, I couldn't say I wasn't expecting that one." You shrug. "Say, doesn't that mean the American finals are coming up soon?"

"Yeah, in two days." Charlotte nods.

"You think you're ready to go up against Greco Roman?"

"Oh, I know I am." She grins.

You watch the rest of the report. You see the post-match interviews where Cziommer, tears in his eyes, declares he'll be back next year to hopefully take revenge on Ricardo Fellini for what you assume is some sort of imagined slight against him. Kirara just gives him a poisonous look as he leaves. Laura isn't much better. She gives a few curt words thanking Rommel and his book before marching off, leaving behind a very confused Kirara.

"She's... pretty strict." Mac says.

"Yeah.... she's German. That should explain everything." Charlotte shrugs.

"I'd like to fight her." Lucina says.

"Um, in Gunpla or for real?" You ask.

"Why not both?" Lucina blinks.

You just sigh and shake your head.

The show switches to two generic ESPN announcers, who announce the results of both the Italian and French qualifier finals. Of course, Fellini sweeps the Italian qualifiers without breaking a sweat, while in France some guy named Charles Nungesser gets it.

"Ah, we can just watch those online later or something." Charlotte says, leaving the couch and heading for the bar. She reaches into one of the cabinets and pulls out a bottle of wine.

"Whoa, what the heck are you doing?" You ask, shocked.

"Getting a drink?" Charlotte looks at you confused.

"Aren't you underage?"

"What the hell are you talk- OH RIGHT, there's a drinking age, here!" Charlotte laughs. "But most European nations don't!"

Charlotte proceeds to pour herself a glass and gives you a sly grin.

"Wanna try some? I promise I won't tell!"
