You are Percius Aurex, Captain of a raider-class pirate vessel. Formerly the 14th son of a noble family, you fled that life in search of adventure. Returning home over 15 years later during an infiltration you found your family upon the brink of ruin and your father assassinated long ago. Having left home behind once more, you rejoined Lord Wilson's wolfpack in the frontier of Sector Corgus, faced the betrayal of your fellow Captain Morix, captured your first prize ship, and received a sizable portion of the world your wolfpack now calls home. Having assigned your sister Alica to Captain the captured prize ship and oversee your operations upon the Wolfpack's adopted 'home world', you embarked upon your first raid as a Captain of a proper wolfpack.

After four months and a bloody fight to take a Brinican transport, the wolfpack split up to investigate other star systems. Bringing your vessel to the Labado system, you docked above the world of Aquari with the understanding that peaceful business is welcomed. The representative of Don DeMarco, Mr Mickler, was pleasant enough to deal with, especially as he was more than willing to deal with the more discreet business surrounding some of your collected guests. Collecting a healthy sum for even the more abrasive guests and ridding yourself of a few lingering items from the Iron Monks, your business was marred by the discovery that two lesser guests had been murdered aboard your vessel, before Mr Mickler could take possession of them. Thankfully, their absence did not cost your arrangements, but any murders upon your vessel are cause for concern. Quickly gathering a team to investigate the event, you've found nothing but frustration.
>>
The prime, and only, suspects in the murder were Hugh Edwards and the four armsmen that formed the search team that discovered the bodies. After hours of questioning each man in turn and meeting with your investigative team, your results left much to be desired.

"There isn't a single hole in their collective story, beyond what they had for breakfast."

"They could all be responsible" says Enes.

"Or we're looking at the wrong people. We're not... you know," Elise looks behind herself and at each doorway, a hand on her sidearm. "Them."

"Mr Edwards would at least be guilty of wasting out time, if we were." Enes fiddles with a simple aquila pendant, running a thumb over the double-headed eagle.

"So let me get this straight" says Keller, leaning over the table and gesturing with his knife. "The Captain's bedwarmer thinks Hugh smells like some sort of evil spirit, so he must be responsible for the killings, since his team found the bodies while the blood was still wet and the bodies warm, and we can't find anyone that was less than five sections away when we think they were killed. Nor do we have anything from their own statements that we can find a hole in, and they say they did a standard five man sweep of the section, finding the bodies as they were about to move on to the next. None of them have a clue how the heads got where they did, nor did they see anything. And the only real clues we have are that someone used a blade to behead the folks alive before they put the heads into a void-sealed bag that we could probably find in any given crewman's quarters or personal storage. Oh, and we think the killer was wearing a voidsuit, or the gloves from one."
>>
"Sounds about right" you admit, "but don't forget that another armsman had the bright idea to decontaminate Hugh and his team because there were some blood drops on them and they stepped all over the murder scene. And all but one had started to clean their kit by the time we questioned them."

"Well fuck, couldn't miss witch here just tear the information from them if they were guilty?"

"I am not a witch!" says Miss Alekto, pounding the table. "I have been trained, bound unto the Emperor's light and sanctioned as an astropath in his service!"

"We have more important matters than those of philosophy over sanctioned psykers and psykic powers, may we please remained focused?" pleads Father Enes.

"Miss Alekto, could your powers assist us in this task?"

"My gifts," she lays quite a bit of emphasis upon the word, turning away from Keller "are not suitable to such things. I can read coarse emotions, send my voice into unguarded minds, and when a person puts effort into it, read surface thoughts or visualizations. With the exception of astrotelepathy, I have no further abilities. What is not forcefully offered is beyond my ability to obtain."

"You saw that chameleonic creature upon Wilson's Refuge."

"As I said then, Captain. The Emperor may have taken my eyes, but he did not take my ability to see."

Despite your upbringing, you find yourself with little will to act against Mr Edwards or his men without any proof. Emperor help you.

The Emperor doesn't help filthy pirates.

Anywho I wonder if Medicae can turn up any DNA evidence on the bodies or design of knife used etc.?
>>

Time to pirate.

But first we deal with murders. I feel like we shouldn't off Edwards or his men without proof. Going to be bad for morale. Unless we try to bluff our way into making him think we know for sure he did it, we're going to have to let him off the hook until we have something more solid.

Fuck yeah, Privateer quest is back!

>Orders?

Apologize to Hugh, explain that there was some circumstantial evidence to implicate him. then place a covert watch on him and his team.

You said these dudes were beheaded whilst they were still alive, rather than killed THEN decaffeinated.

Is there any bruising around the bodies that would indicate a struggle or that they were restrained? Any bindings? Any indication the bodies were dragged here from another location?

If none of those are present, then someone, or something, managed to behead both those men before either of them had any time to react. AKA something really bad.

Miss Magnus is expected to take several more hours at least.

The severed heads are currently with the bodies (you're fairly certain they're matched correctly, you think.) and being examined in the Medicae.

Elise and Keller. Dismiss the team for now but we should keep Tiereea around. She noticed this incident in the first place and she might give us a heads up if they do anything more so we can act right away.
>>
"Release them for now. Elise, Keller. I want an eye kept on them, quietly." Both of your officers nod, but Keller's frustration at the situation is still plain upon his face. "For now, you're all dismissed. When Medicae has their report on the bodies, we'll gather to discuss the situation further."

A small chorus of 'Yes, Captain's and seats moving about the deck fills the room as everyone save for Miss Tiereea moves to depart, though you notice Miss Alekto has seemingly snapped back into her surroundings.

"Miss Eberhardt, Captain Aurex" says the astropath, gripping her hands together upon the table. "News from Barivia and Battlefleet Paxia."

"Out with it" says Elise, though you note she's more rigid than even her usual self.

"You may wish to sit, Miss Eberhardt."

"I will stand." Elise stares at Miss Alekto, the Astropath seemingly turning toward you to convince your XO to sit.

"Report, Miss Alekto." Some part of you may feel guilt over not granting Elise at least the sight of her home world during your infiltration of Paxia, or perhaps you just know she can handle whatever the Emperor deems suitable to throw her way.

"My brothers and sisters are speaking openly amongst themselves of this news, though I can not be entirely certain of the accuracy." Miss Alekto's thumb taps her hand repeatedly as she pauses, almost as if she were no longer sitting before you. "Admiral Drake is dead. Cruisers 'Faithkeeper' and 'Addo Animus' have been lost. Cruisers 'Longbow' and 'Capitulus Imperium' have been crippled."

"Doesn't Paxia only have seven true cruisers?" You try to recall the names of the dwindling list of Battlefleet Paxia's true cruisers, but draw a blank.

"Five, last I heard" says Elise.

"Light Cruisers 'Lord Hood', 'Sanguine Faith' and 'Bulwark' lost. 'Lancer', 'Jäger', 'Oscar', 'Juno', 'Market' and 'Ferum' squadrons lost. Astartes strike cruiser and other forces answering the call from neighboring sectors unable to contest orbital space against the ork fleet. New Vienna and New Zuric under siege by the greenskins."

"The mountains will hold them as they always do. Herzland's defenses are strong."

"No real reports of ground casualties, but the words are not favorable to the Emperor's forces" says Miss Alekto, her shoulders shifting as if she were stuck by a sudden chill. "I am sorry, there is no further information."

Sheeeit. Paxia's fleet just got rekt.

"The Imperial Fleet must have bloodied the orks and more ships being called in. I'm sure those famous soldiers of yours will be able to hold out for a relief force to liberate the planet."

Maybe we should give Elise some time to herself.

>>
>>34306299
Might be worth our time in other ways. Might be refugees at some point or those trying to escape Barivia into Corgus we might be able to raid as they come through the corridor. Or maybe buy things off of if they need transport.
>>
>>34306516
If there are refugees "some" mind need a place to stay and/or work. It would only be fitting to help them in their time of need.

Just have to watch out for our "friend" the lord commissar.
>>
Suppressing your initial reaction to the reported losses, you consider both the possible boons to you and yours and the terrible news your XO just received.

"The Imperial Fleet must have bloodied the orks and more ships are surely being called in. Those famous soldiers of yours will be able to hold out for a relief force to liberate the planet, Elise." Your words feel empty to your mind, but you've spoken much more blatant lies without flinching before.

"Yeah."

"Elise, if you'd give Tes a chance to prove her budding skills it would be appreciated. And I'm sure you could use some time to not worry about running the ship for me."

"Yes, Captain." Your XO gives a disinterested nod before excusing herself from the chamber.

Wat do?
>>
You are Heinrich Eberhardt. Once a simple farmer in the foothills around New Venice, you tilled the lands and raised your family as any Emperor-fearing man would. Your hands tremble as the world around you quakes, dirt knocked loose from above pouring across the face of your pocket chrono and the pict of your wife and daughter sitting among wild flowers in a more peaceful time. A distant voice calls into the shelter and you return the silvered object to your pocket, pulling the rifle from between your knees and turning toward the light as those around you do the same. One of the men beside you struggles to wipe away tears, a sympathetic hand from the group giving a firm grasp and slight shake to his shoulder.

"For the Emperor and Barivia!"

The cry of your fellows is deafening as you charge forward under the creeping barrage of artillery, the mass of men and women parting only around the larger items of debris blasted free of buildings or the rare knocked out tank. The Farmer's Crossroad is filled with bodies, both greenskin and human, and from beyond the fading artillery the damned war cry greets your own.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhh!"

"Take positions! Cut them down as they try to take the crossroads!"

>Orders?
>>
>>34307452
Charge forward to a position we have some cover or can kneel/go prone from. Then get ready to pour fire into the ork tide since there's no way in hell this guy is going to win in melee.
>>
>>34307452
>Heinrich Eberhardt
Well shit.

We need to either find a large piece of debri or part of a building or something to take cover behind.

If we can get to a position that has a higher elevation that would be good to. We need to get ready to lay down as much fire as possible.

I'm guessing the Farmer's crossroad is basically a bottleneck so hopefully it will make a nice kill zone because that last thing anyone wants are the orks reaching melee range.
>>
>>34307724
>Farmer's Crossroad

A site you're familiar with. An orthogonal space nearly half a kilometer wide, each face has at least one four-lane road that joins into the round-about at the Crossroad's center. So called for the numerous farmers that passed through during the harvests.

>cover

There is a partially ruined meter-tall wall along the edge of the Crossroads, or numerous chunks of buildings and statues partially blocking the in-roads on this edge of the area.

>high ground

Heavy weapons teams are quick to occupy what is left of elevated positions.

>15 minutes for any changes to plans
>>
>>34308020
I say we use the buildings/statues as cover. Probably more variability and cover we can move to.
>>
>>34308020
I think in this situation the Building and or statues would be the best for now. Maybe if there are a few people we recognize/ know in the crowd drag them over to our position.
>>
>>34308020

spread the men out along the wall and stand as though a stone and let the green-skins break upon us.
>>
A trio of chimera-hulled assault guns rumble into position along the road, drawing your sight to a section of rubble that looks to be from a nearby building's roof. The thick stone architechture should provide some of the best cover, and what is left of a statue allows you to rest your weapon at an almost comfortable kneel. Dozens of men and women take to what cover they can find around you, some of them still wearing the clothes they arrived at New Vienna with. Weapons teams occupy whatever high ground is available, a missile launcher team going so far as to use your shoulder as footing to ascend the debris you've claimed as cover.

The greenskins' noisy weapons pierce the smoke and dust clouds dominating the area, a storm of fire whizzing about haphazardly and met a moment later by a mixture of lasguns, heavy weapons, hunting rifles and even a handful of shotguns or pistols. Sound vanishes from your mind after one of the assault guns fires an earth-shaker round past you by what feels like mere centimeters.

You hold your fire until you can actually see a greenskin through the haze, spotting one with what appears to be a crude heavy stubber it sweeps side to side like a hose. Six shots from your weapon bring the brute down and you hunt for another target, barely registering one of the missile launcher team falling from the debris with a hole clean through his chest. Another greenskin falls to your weapon, but you're scrambling for a fresh magazine as more and more greenskins begin to fill the square.

By the time you've dropped a third xenos the forward positions of the defensive line are being hacked into by foul xenos weapons, the assault guns supporting your fellow Barivians firing as fast as their crews can manage until a group of multi-limbed walkers make themselves known. Their weapons strafe the street with rounds, forcing you to duck behind the debris and pull your legs in close. The crew of the nearest tank maneuvers their vehicle to bring their mighty gun upon the crude foes, firing a moment before the vehicle is struck and set alight in return. One of the burning crew manages to escape the inferno before the Emperor takes him.

Another blast strikes a nearby ruin, showering you in a mixture of rockcrete and what used to be a the crew of a heavy stubber.

You notice five familiar faces nearby. To your left, Sven and Christoph take cover behind a crumbling wall, the black hair of the brothers filled with rockcrete dust.

Johan lies dead nearby, a hole thru his chest.

Hanne has dragged herself behind some rubble, a twisted chunk of plasteel deep in her abdomen.

To your right Renata crews a heavy stubber, the bodies of the original crew at her feet as she recklessly fires the weapon and yells something you can't quite make out.

"Sven, Christoph! The missiles! We need the missiles firing again! Shoot the walkers! The walkers!"

The brothers spring into action as you turn your attention to an ork charging for Renata, adding another xeno to your count. The remaining assault guns fire, each dropping one of the crude, cylindrical walkers and any greenskins nearby. More of the machines proceed to stomp toward the Imperial line as orks press on thru the forward portions of the line and the fight begins turn against your fellows. One of the few officers in sight is nearly bisected by one of the larger greenskins, while a gaggle of the smaller creatures fall upon a weapons crew with crude knives and pistols.

Sven's first shot with the missile launcher detonates upon the nearest walker's body, spraying the area with fragmentation and seeming to anger the construct. Rounds impact wildly around your position as Christoph reloads and his brother fires a second missile that tears into the walker and sends it toppling to the ground. Another explosion throws you to the ground, stone fragments pounding your body as your chosen cover is blasted into further ruin. Scrambling toward Hanne's position, you barely register what should be a very painful slide across a half meter of roadway.

The assault guns begin to retreat back down the road as you quickly check the surrounding area. Sven is helping Christoph out of the road, the latter bleeding badly. Across the road, Renata has abandoned the heavy stubber and is scattering a group of the smaller greenskins with shotgun fire. The cowardly creatures quickly flee before the woman's onslaught, even as one of the assault guns is disabled by fire destroying a track.

Hanne forces a smile as you turn your attention to her, her face taking on a grayish hue. The twisted plasteel in her abdomen doesn't seem to be that deep, but her clothes betray the large amount of blood she has lost already from the wound.

Isn't it better to leave the plasteel in until we actually have a kit? I imagine removing it would just let blood from the wound leave quicker. Unless we can tear apart parts of our uniform to make a really shit bandage, the best thing to do would probably be to help deal with Renata's greenskins and have her retreat back with us. "Renata!" Your voice feels distant and distorted in your head, but you're certain you're yelling with everything you've got. "Renata!"

You have to extend your arm from cover to draw her attention, but Renata's attention turns toward you as she ducks behind what is left of a building's corner, calmly reloading her weapon with shells. Ahead, the line begins to collapse in ernest as greenskins overwhelm what few pockets that resisted the inititial charge, the damned walkers bringing an unholy mixture of spinning and fixed blades down upon your fellows even as their guns continue to send fire down the street that separates you from Renata. Less than four lanes of road begins to feel like kilometers, even as Sven carries Christoph upon his back along the near side.

A pair of greenskins approach Renata's position, your rifle dropping one that grasps at its neck. Your cover seems horribly lacking from this angle as the other swings a large weapon your way with a roar, spraying just about everything in five meters with rounds until Renata leans out and puts a pair of rounds into the xeno's head at less than a meter.

The disabled assault gun fires a final round from ten meters down the road before a massive, deafening flash of lightning strikes the vehicle and tears it apart in a massive explosion.

The sun warms your skin as you lounge among the grass that covers the hills, Elise pointing up at a long, thin cloud from the direction of New Vienna. Your daughter asks all kinds of questions, her bright green eyes looking at you for answers to her questions about worlds and sights you've never seen nor even wondered about yourself. "Is it true the Emperor's warships are kilometers long and have his golden Aquila thirty meters high upon their prows? Can I go see them? What about the stars? They're so tiny from here! Your hand moves to your your aching head, coming back bloodied. Your weapon is nowhere to be seen, though your helmet is just over a meter away with a massive dent where something struck it. Sven and Christoph are nowhere to be seen, though Hanne is beside you and looks to be on the edge of passing out. Renata's right arm is held protectively, the sleeve stained with blood as she leans out and fires a laspistol with her left hand.

"Sven and Christoph?"

Renata shakes her head. "We need to go before they take the side street. The gunfire is quieting from there. Can you run?"

It might be easier and faster for the both of us to carry her between us, y'know, one of her arms round one persons shoulders and the other arm round the other's. Then the three of us take of as fast as we can.

"Get her up. We can move her between the two of us."

Hanne groans weakly as you pull her arm over your shoulder and lift with Renata. "Go!"

Greenskins seem to sprout from the very ground behind you, throwing fire down the avenue and only spurring you and Renata to run all the quicker despite Hanne's dragging feet. Without a weapon and with Renate's free arm being wounded, you're helpless as rounds zip above, beside and past you. Four of your fellow soldiers run out of an alley meters away, one of them shouting at you to hurry past as he throws something down the pathway a moment before it fills with an explosion. One of the men is cut down by fire from behind you, scattering the rest a moment after you pass. Twenty meters ahead, the last assault gun halts and her crew fire down the avenue as fast as they can clear the breach and shove another shell into the gun.

The chimera hull explodes in another blinding storm of lightning when you're only ten meters away, forcing your group into a shattered store front to avoid the rain of plasteel and ceramite that follows. A pair of sloped tanks rumble into position behind the flaming wreck, their turrets turning almost in synch before unleashing a volley of fire past your position. Blue-green flame erupts in the distance, a massive crook with a claw-like object at the end of countless cables illuminated for a brief instant before destroying itself in a storm of lightning. The battle resumes as orks mass down the avenue, firing toward the tanks a mere ten meters from your position and failing to score a single hit.

Blood wets your uniform from Hanne's arm, struck by something during your flight. She's still alive, you think. Ten meters from the bend and friendly forces.

You're certain that there is an exit to a small square that sits between the buildings, and there should be several paths from there to safety.

Worst case, the building seems intact enough that you might be able to head to the roof or move over any blockages using a window.

You're in some luck. While there isn't a true first aid kit, you find enough folded cloth, pins, needles and even a bottle of good whiskey. It isn't a first aid kit, but it will have to do.

Hanne nearly chokes on the whiskey, but does manage to mumble something that sounded appreciative afterwards. A swig for you and then Renata, and you pull the plasteel as the other woman holds poor Hanne down. Drenching some clean cloth in some of the whiskey, you press the soaked material into the wound and try to ignore the exhausted cries of agony before you tightly bandage the wound. The building trembles as something strikes it, debris falling onto the sidewalk outside and filling the store front with dust.

"At least it is a defendable position now" says Renata, covering the open whiskey bottle with her good arm's thumb before the dust can enter. "We'll be trapped if that happens too many more times." She takes another drink from the bottle as the dust clears.

You check the stairwell to the upper floors, finding the third floor and those higher to be blocked where something exploded near the stairs. With help, you might be able to climb clear of the rubble. The second floor has several windows in the front and back, though you're driven from the ones overlooking the avenue out front when rounds pour into and around the windows. You didn't even get near the damned things. Random fire?

The back windows seem to draw less attention, though you spot several greenskins in the small square at the building's back. A pair of bodies are sprawled in a pool of their own blood, the greenskins more interested in the gun they were crewing than the corpses. One hefts the weapon and fires wildly into the air until the ammunition runs dry, prompting another to smack it on the head and a scuffle to break out.

The third floor of the buildings around the square seem to be connected by a walkway with a stone parapet.

The rubble isn't too difficult to quietly part enough for your passage, once you've been boosted to the top of the larger blockage. You'll even be able to pull Hanne up and over with a little effort.

The third floor is the end of the line for this building, the floors above inaccessable without climbing equipment, and it appears to have once been two apartments. Someone seems to have remodeled a good number of the walls from the outside, however, joining the two by a sizeable hole. Carefully poking your head out the ruins of the wall overlooking the avenue, you spot the allied forces a mere ten meters beyond your position. One of the tanks you spotted earlier burns with a hole thru the front, the sister tank now using her for cover. Two larger, almost square tanks have either side of the intersection covered, their hulls angled as they pull forward and then retreat behind the corners after firing their main guns. Each bears the distinctive twin swords of the elite Das Kaiser battallion.

Crawling up to the edge of the walkway over the square in the back, you carefully look down to find one of the greenskin walkers stomping into the area and exchanging fire down one of the smaller passages that is too narrow for it to pass, at least two dozen other greenskins exchanging fire and even using a crude flamer down the other passages. As you watch, one of the walker's weapons is severed by a missile impact.

>Reference information.

>You are currently on the North side of Square, South of the main Avenue.
>The Das Kaiser tanks are ten meters West, at an intersection.
>The building to your immediate West is beginning to crumble

You squeeze the trigger of the rifle, noticing the shell eject without you cycling the bolt, and squeeze again and again. Some part of you despairs, knowing you've missed, and you have time to see the greenskin bring a crude, handled... grenade? The impact to your chest takes you off of your feet and staggering you through the mostly glass door you just entered. Something cracks as you impact the stone parapet of the walkway, but the pain barely registers. You don't quite remember when you let go of the rifle, but you find your hands empty.

The greenskin shoulders the remains of the door off the hinges, looking between you and the bent grenade. It laughs.

A cornered beast is the most dangerous. You taught your daughter that lesson countless times, but this greenskin doesn't seem to know it. You throw whatever glass you can grasp at the ork's face, forcing it to block the fragments despite the pain in your hand. The rifle, you need the rifle. The greenskin's distraction allows you to dive between its legs, scrambling for the rifle even as you feel the xeno turn to give chase. A meter. Half a meter. You don't have time to fire, the damned xenos is upon you, arm extended to bring that grenade down upon your skull. The barrel is in your hand, you throw everything you have into one defiant, final swing.

The rifle butt gives a mighty, shattering crack as the metal plate at the end impacts the ork's head. The wooden stock splinters, but you realize too late you can't avoid the ork's own swing. The grenade hits your hip, your final motions throwing off the brute's aim. Blinding pain wracks your body, your leg going limp as you feel bones shatter from the impact. There is nothing you can do but scream in pain.

Your mind barely registers that you've survived this encounter, the ork's eyes dead and lifeless.

Well we could try screaming that we're injured up here and hope somebody down there hears us
>>
>>34329619
Could just attract more orks.
>>
>>34329466
Pfft. Well then. Since we're probably dead, write a last message for our daughter. She'll never see it but at least when he dies, he left the chance for her to hear his last words because we're pretty fucked.

Only other option is to make enough noise and hope someone comes that isn't an ork.
>>
To clarify.

You could probably crawl, but it will hurt and you know that bad things could happen.

waiting/praying is also a valid option, however.

You laugh, you cry, you pray. For yourself, Hanne, Renata, your daughter Elise. You listen to the battle rage around you for hours, watching the shadows slowly grow longer and longer. At some point, you cut the impressive teeth from your final kill. May as well have a trophy to offer the Emperor when you're forgotten here. Fatigue hounds your vision, hunger building within your gut. Thirst comes later, after you've emptied the small flask of water from your kit. You almost wish you'd filled it with some of that whiskey, instead.

You wonder if Renata and Hanne made it.

Something is moving up stairs with a heavy tread.

The rifle's stock is beyond saving, but you manage to awkwardly point the weapon toward the heavy footsteps even though your body protests. They stop beyond your view, but you catch a hint of xenos skin in the hallway. You fire, punching holes into walls until the rifle is empty. Eight holes decorate the hallway, and you hear something fall to the ground.

"Blodes fotze!" yells someone from the hallway you just fired at. "Heinrich?"

Gah. Yes there is. Confirm it is Heinrich.
>>
>>34330421
Ja, its Heinrich! I hope I didn't shoot anyone down there but i need aids, schnell.
>>
"Ja, its Heinrich!"

Renata's head slowly looks around the corner of the doorway, near the floor. "You almost shot me" she deadpans.

"My hip is busted."

Dusting herself off, Renata carefully checks the walkway you entered from before walking toward the front of the building and calling for a medic. Looking you over, she shakes her head. "Don't ask. Not again." She sits beside you, placing your rifle on the other side of her and offering a lho stick. Exhausted as you are, you don't even give a thought to the fact that you can't recall if you actually smoke these things. She lights it for you before her own, taking a long draw before you both sit there in silence, staring at nothing in particular.

Eventually, she shifts her shotgun to rest against her shoulder, barrel facing up. "Hanne's dead. You're crippled. I'm lost, hard boiled bitch. Do you suppose it's always like that? I mean war." She takes a long drag on her lho stick.

You don't respond, lost in thought and simply happy your Elise is anywhere else.

>calling it here for the week. Thanks for playing!

What happened to Hanne?
>>
>>34331342
Eventually bled out due to wounds.
>>
>>34331312

Is this the end of the Heinrich arc or are we going to see more of him next week?
>>
>>34331397
Was that what the luck roll was for?
Is this the first few days of the attack on Barivia by the orks?
>>
>>34331511
Luck for Renata and Hanne was to see if anything wandered into them.

Renata managed to kill the ork that found them.

>>34331492
Heinrich's part in PQ is over, as I decided to break up the slow pace on choices to be made with a little side story. I didn't expect him to survive, honestly.

He may end up being encountered as part of Chapter Quest's side story involving a company of marines deploying to assist Barivia vs the green horde.
>>
>>34331609
... Renata is pretty bad ass. Maybe Barivia will be alright after all.
>>
>>34331312
I have to say it was interesting taking a look at what is happening over there.

"If" we had left to go help with the ork would we have made it in time for that big battle? For some reason I get the feeling it wouldn't have mattered if we were there or not.

All this talk of orks invading just makes me remember that there is a ork invested planet just a "short" ways away from our home base.
>>
>>34331683
The recall of Battlefleet Paxia to deal with the orks was simply you guys detecting a larger event in the setting.

You could have made it roughly in time for the battle, but you'd likely have bigger things to worry about than greenskins if you'd chosen to do so.
>>
>>34331761
Fucking Heinrich man

Where is the Verdant Ethos wreck?
>>
>>34331761
... so battlefleet would have shot our pirate asses, thats fair I guess.
Still the Heinrich mini adventure was very fun

>Implying MS will tell us that.
We're going to have to search long and hard, anon. You can bet your ass other Rogue Traders, pirates and independent captains have been looking for it.

We should really get on that though. Yes after the whole murderous psychopath whose hopefully not a heretic situation is dealt with. Someone's probably like halfway to finding it now

Don't we have to head back to the wolf pack and report/resupply and all that jazz? Plus, we still need to find out about Ana's condition. And possible treasure in our land.
>>
>>34332220
Ana's on our ship recovering from getting the bionics she needed

and we've got an astropath, I'm sure we can send a message back saying we're chasing down a lead for some treasure

>>34332090
yeah, as soon as our business is concluded here in port, we're chasing that Warrant
>>
>>34332253
Might still be worthwhile going back to talk to the other captains. They might have information on the system or other systems for us to use while we're searching.
>>
>>34332457
true, something we should look into
