Laughing out loud you announce your next statement to the small crowd that has gathered around you in the inn “And they still think we don’t know what’s going on between them!”

Laughing with you one of the men says “I never took Weston as a leg man before”

You nod in agreement and taking a long sip from your cup you continue “I know, it was kinda a shock at first but I guess it fits him”

Another man in the crowd smirks at you and says “Well the next time I see him I’ll let him know what a lucky guy he is”

Grabbing your cup you down the rest of the drink, slamming it down on the table you grin at the crowd “Okay, who wants to hear another?”

As the men start climbing over each other to be the first to ask you about more of your adventures you hear the inn door slam open, looking at the entrance you see soldier standing there scanning the room.

Clearing his throat he asks “Ummm is there a Mildred here?”

Raising your hand he looks relieved, running over to you he hands you a note “I was told to give you this message miss”

Thanking him you open the note and begin to read it.

To the Witch Mildred,

Mildred, you are to report imminently to an official meeting between the heads of the revolutionary forces. Please make your way there as soon as you can.

Sighing you push yourself away from the table “Sorry guys but I have to go”

As the crowd whines you raise your arms “Ok, ok, I’ll be here later tonight. You can hear the rest then”

They still seem upset but you can’t do much else about that. Walking over to the soldier that brought you the message you say “This meeting sounded pretty important, we should probably get there quickly. Can you lead me to it?”

Smiling at the fact that you decided to not make him wait he stands up “Right away miss!”. Following him through the door you exit onto the street and start to make your way deeper into the city.

Staring at the back of his head an anxious feeling starts to gnaw at your stomach, you’ve been to meetings like this before but those were mostly unimportant and with the Commander. No doubt he’s going to be there but this one just feels… different.

Walking through the silent street you decide you should probably know what you’re getting into before you make it to the meeting, piping up you say “So… did I do something wrong or…”

Laughing a little the soldier says “No, nothing like that. The top brass just wanting you to attend the meeting they’re holding”

You let out a sigh of relief “Well that’s good” pausing for a second you ask “What are they like? The leaders of this whole thing I mean”

The turns his head and gives you an uneasy look “They’re… interesting to say the least”

Giving him a look of horror you gasp “They’re a bunch of weirdoes aren’t they?”

With a defeated sigh the soldier just nods “Yeah… pretty much”
Great, and you have to spend a whole meeting with them too. You can just imagine how well this is going to turn out. Rounding the corner you see a tall, important looking building standing in the middle of a large square. Looking around you can that guard patrols are circling the whole area and revolutionary flags are plant all over the place. You must be in the right spot.

Turning to you the soldier says “Looks like we made it in one piece. Just follow the stairs up and the meeting should be through the biggest pair of doors” grinning at you he adds “Have fun” With that he turns and walks back the direction you came form.

Looking at the building you take a deep breath and stride forwards, entering the building you can see that the outside is nothing like the inside. All around you people run back and forth carrying large stacks of paper while shouting things that make no sense to you, it looks like a hurricane has past through here.

Stopping a woman passing by you ask “What’s going on? What’s happening?”

Giving you wild eyes she shouts “PAPER WORK”, looking side to side she sprints off. Quickly you run up the first stair case you see to escape the chaos, reaching the top you rush into a hallway. Slowing down you look behind you, it seems like you managed to get away without any problems.

As you stand there and catch your breath you hear a voice behind you ask “Ummm miss? Can I help you?”

Jumping back in surprise you two guards standing in front of a pair of large doors, straitening yourself you say “Ah yes, I’m looking for the meeting for the leaders”

Giving you a strange look one of the guards says “It right through here but I’m not sure you’re allowed to go in”

Raising an eyebrow you cross your arms “And why’s that?”

Chuckling the man says “No offence but this is an important meeting for important people and I don’t think-“

Before he can finish the second guard gives him a nudge “Move you idiot, she’s the witch they were talking about”

Giving the second guard a look of horror he turns back “I’m so sorry miss, I didn’t realize please go in”

Sticking your chin up you move past him “Thank you”. Entering the room you’re about to announce your presence when you see a cup fly at your head, ducking the cup smashes into the door behind you. Looking back to table you can see Commander RadCliff standing beside a woman and yelling at a man who even dwarfs him.

It looks like the Commander has been yelling a lot so far because his face looks bright red and you’re pretty sure a blood vessel is going to pop in his neck any second “HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NOT TO THROW THINGS FIONN, CAN’T YOU ACT LIKE AN ADULT FOR ON-“. Cutting himself off he sees you standing in a crouched position, imminently the strain in his face disappears “Aw Milly, it’s about time you made it here”

Suddenly the yelling in the room stops and everyone at the table looks at you.

Springing up you look at the Commander with wide eyes “What was that!?”

The Commander just sighs and rubs temple “Sorry about that but as you can see the meeting isn’t going that well”

The huge man that threw the cup slams the table in front of him “IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DIDN’T GIVE ME THIS PIECE OF SHIT ALE, ALSO WHO’S THE LITTLE GIRL?”

A bald man dressed in robes in between the groups looks blankly at, in a monotone voice he says “She must be the witch you were talking about RadCliff, Mildred was it?”

Nodding you say “Yeah that’s me but you can call me Milly”

Nodding back the man says “Welcome Mildred”

Before you can correct him again someone from behind the huge man shouts “That’s her boss!”, stepping out in the open you recognize the man as the one you launched into the room during your bar fight.

Limping he points at you “She’s the Witch that attacked us!”

Commander RadCliff shoots you a worried look, mouthing “Don’t worry about it” to him he just shakes his head.

For the first time the giant man is quite, turning around the Red Claw says “Boss? Why are you not killing her yet? She’s the one-“ before he can say anything else a huge fist smashes into him. Faster then your eyes can move the Red Claw impacts the wall and spits up a little blood.

Standing over him the giant man yells “YOU IDIOT! YOU GOT BEAT UP BY A LITTLE GIRL!? WHAT ARE PEOPLE GOING TO THINK ABOUT US NOW!?”

As the Red Claw gurgles the leader of the Red Claws turns to you, with a look of fury he says “And you! I don’t like when people beat up on my men, do it again and your dead!”

You’re about to say something about how they wouldn't get beat up if they weren't little pansies when the woman standing beside the Commander shouts “SHUT UP!”

Standing in complete silence the woman lets out a sigh, muttering under her breath she says “Giving me a bloody headache…”. Looking up at the Commander she says “Cigar”

Pulling one out of his pocket he hands it to her, putting it into her mount she waits for a few seconds. Finally she says “It ain’t going to light itself”

“Of course general” pulling a lighter out, the Commander lights her cigar

Taking a puff from it she looks at you “You get one question, ask now”

Looking around the now silent room you say “So ummm what’s going on?”

Turning to look at the Commander the woman says “RadCliff, explain the situation to her”

Nodding his head the Commander says “Of course general” turning to you he says “As you may have guessed we were holding a meeting between the leaders of the revolution to discuss our current situation…” pausing for a second he adds “Well we were attempting to anyways, unfortunately Fionn isn’t one for meetings”

The giant man grunts “This is a waste of time anyways”

The man in the robe says “I don’t believe that Fionn, meetings are the founding blocks of empires”

Picking up where he left off the Commander says “Aw yes, you haven’t been introduced to Georgios Norbert. He’s the representative for the mages collective”

The mages collective you remember that name, you think that you bought some supplies from them in the past. Nodding you say “Yes I think I’ve met some of your organization in the past”

Staring at you with his blank expression he says “That is mostly likely the case”

You turn back to the Commander and he continues “The reason we called this meeting is that we’ve been having some problems”

Eyeing him suspiciously you ask “What type of problems?”

Letting out sigh he says “Church kind of problems”

Butting in the woman next to the Commander says “Basically we’ve been having some local troubles and I was told you could take care of it”

Giving her a nervous smile you ask “Do I get a choice in this?”

She just gives you a hard expression which probably means no

“Thought so… What do I need to do?”

The woman grunts and says “RadCliff, brief her”

Walking towards you the Commander hands you two scrolls “These have all the mission information inside of them but I’ll give you the gist of what you need to do. The first mission is to secure the library, the information inside could prove useful to us but the monks and soldiers inside of it are putting up a fight and we would like them gone sooner rather then latter. The second mission is to remove the local lord, he was strong supporter of the church and he has proven to be an issue for us. He’s currently barricaded himself in his manor near the edge of the city. Once both of these are done report back”

Taking in all that you shake your head “That it?”

Nodding the Commander says “Yep”

You try to ask some questions but you’re slowly pushed out of the room by over an over enthusiastic Commander, before he closes the door he gives you a smile “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine”. With that he closes the door and can hear the yelling start back up again on the other side.

Sighing you look down at the scrolls in your hands wonder what to do first.

Looking between the scrolls you’re not sure what to do, you bet Randolf might have an idea or two. Suddenly it hits you, smacking your head you can’t believe you almost forgot about your friends. Pocketing the scrolls you quickly make your way out of the building and dodging the chaos downstairs this time. Rushing in direction you came from you eventually make it back to the main road. Looking from side to side you eventually see two faces you recognize and they don’t look happy.

Storming up to you Weston and Deniece have the exact same expression, matching bright red faces and all. Waving his arms around Weston yells “What have you been telling people!? I can’t go anywhere anymore with out some calling me the leg man”

Deniece nods furiously in response

Pausing for second you say “Look I have all day to tease you later but right now I need you to meet me at the tavern and tell as many of the party as you can to do the same”

Before they can say anything else you sprint off and leave them standing there fuming

After a few minutes of running around and searching you’ve gathered everyone around a table at the inn.

Tapping his fingers on the table Randolf says “Most of us were busy but you said it was an emergency so what is it Sweetie?”

Pouting Jodie says “Yeah, I was working on this cute soldier. You better pay me back for this”

Announcing loudly Lilith yells “I’m hungry! Milly buy me something to eat!”

Sigh, this might have not been the best idea. Rubbing the side of your head you say “Ok, ok, I’ll make this quick. Basically I’ve been sent on a mission by the top brass and I need some help”

This manages to shut them up, eyeing you cautiously Randolf says “What type of mission?”

After retelling what you heard at the meeting the table is quite for moments, surprisingly the first one to speak up is Tam. Finding her voice she gives you a look of determination “I’ll help you Milly!”

Giving her a surprised look you say “Kinda odd for you to speak up first Tam, what’s going on?”

Pulling her sword out she waves it around causing her half of the table to duck, with fire in her eyes she says “If it’s for books I’ll defeat hundred enemies!”

Shaking your head you didn’t know what you expected, after Tam calms down Radolf peaks out from his hiding place under the table. Clearing his throat he says “Maybe we should start with the manor first, the people in the library might surrender if they hear that we took care of the lord”

As Tam gives Randolf a death glare you weigh your options.

Weighing your options you think it might be best to start with the easiest option first, flashing a smile at Tam you say “Guess what Tam”

Breaking her away from glaring at Randolf she says “Wh-what is it?”

“We’re going to take the library”

Your smile only grows as her expression changes into a kid’s at Christmas and you also notice that Sasha has silently moved Tams sword out of her reach.

Pumping her arms Tam bolts up “What are we waiting for! Let’s get going!” turning around she sprints out the door leaving you all sitting there, after a few moments she pokes her head back into the inn sheepishly “so-sorry, I’ll just wait here until you’re ready”

Sighing you stand up but Randolf stops you “What is it?”

With serious look he says “If things are happening as I think they are should probably send some help over to the manor”

You raise an eyebrow at him “What should we do then?”

Pulling you a little closer he says “I think we need to split up, I’ll take half the party and head over to the manor and wait for you there, you take the other half and head to the library. I don’t think there’s going to be anyway to convince Tam to come with us so you take three others and I’ll take the remainder.”

Thinking it over you decide on the three that you want to accompany you, telling Randolf he doesn’t look surprised that your first choice is Tam but he looks slightly disappointed when you choose Sasha next.

Giving him a funny look you ask “Something the matter?”

Shaking his head he returns to his normal self “No, nothing. We should head out now, don’t want to leave them waiting. See you latter and don’t do anything stupid while I’m not there”

Scuffing you say “I’m more worried about you guys”

Laughing he says “Yeah well see about that” turning around he herds everyone else out of the inn and down the street.

Blowing out some air you turn around as well to inspect your troops. Tam looks pumped up and ready for a fight which is a first for her, Sasha looks like she always does before a fight, and now that he’s separated for Deniece Weston looks a little less fidgety but also looks pretty upset at you.

Giving you a hungry smile Sasha says “I never knew you were a poet kid because that sounds beautiful to me”

Dropping his glare for a moment Weston shoots you a worried look and mouths “She’s crazy”

You mouth back “Don’t worry, she’s on our side” but this doesn’t seem to help his worrying at all.

Walking out the door with the others following close behind you suddenly stop, turning to them again you ask “Ummm hey guys, do any of you know where the library is?”

Before the others can speak Tam shouts “I do!”. Realizing her sudden out burst covers her face a little “I mean, I remember the way”

Poking her with his staff Weston says “Go get it girl, lead the way”. This just gets him a smack from Sasha. Rubbing his head he says “Kidding, kidding, why can’t I ever tell a joke?”

Shaking her head Sasha says “I would be okay with it if you were actually funny”

As the two bicker you turn to Tam “So you remember the way?”

Nodding she says “Yep, it’s down the road, to the left, past the scary looking building and so on”

“Well you should take the lead then”

Perking up she shouts “Okay!” and hurries off down the street. Turning around to tell the others to follow you see they’re still locked in their argument, sighing to yourself you walk behind them and start to push them after Tam but they don’t even react to you and instead continue their shouting match.
