“Before you go on, how to I use these things you gave me?” You ask, looking puzzled at the floppy disks in your hands. “And what are they? Also, where do I buy them, and how do I buy them?”

“Ahh, they’re HP disks. You can buy them at the item shop in Southern part of the city… it’s right beside Jijimon’s house. And—um, you use bits as currency. You can use your phone for the transaction, kind of like a debit card. Speaking of Jijimon, right across from his house is the item bank, if you need to deposit stuff. Aaaand… if I may?”

Obligingly, you hand her back one of the disks. Gently, she kneels down in front of DP and pets his head. “Say ‘ahh’?”

And just like that, she feeds him the floppy disk. While this is incredibly weird and strange, you choose not to comment and instead bring out your phone to check DP’s stats.

You sigh with relief, knowing that your partner isn’t in critical damage anymore. Following her lead, you take one of the disks and offer it to DP. As he eats it, you’re happy for the fact he isn’t in critical condition anymore.

“All better now?” Akiho smiles and pats his head.

“Thank you.” DP says politely. By comparison to how roughed up he looked before, he looks obviously better.

“Good, good.” She giggles briefly, before glancing back at you. “But you know, like I said. A lot of us aren’t exactly ready for this tournament either. Nico might be a little mad, but I think Taiga, Rina, and I don't really blame you. Not really.”

“I was hoping you’d give me some tips on how to train Deep Purple.” You really don’t know what you’re doing, after all.

At this, Akiho lights up. “Well, you both came to the right person!”

Even if he sees most of our tricks he won't see All of them (mostly because we can just make shit up as we fight) and we can still win with some luck, planning and a whole lot of effort.

Consider this, Digimon is pretty much an Tokusatsu mixed with a Giant Mecha anime, but instead of armors and robot we have Mons.
And in those shows, you can do anything as long as you have enough Courage, Guts and Fighting Spirit.

And believe me, that’s as big of a deal as it sounds.” She nods. “That’s what I was planning to do with Digitorin… even though I’m not in that Tournament to win, I still have my pride too.”

“By the way, Akiho.”

“You can have my number. Just so I can give you tabs on DP, and contact you. Maybe if I need advice.”

The Coliseum is a huge tower, to start with. However, the entrance is plain as day. Once you go in and walk past all the people without giving a single fuck, you lay eyes on the Gym and glance at your DP, and then back at your cellphone.

“It’s time. We’re gonna make a man out of you, Deep Purple.”

“A man!” He nods, clearly sharing your enthusiasm now. But before you start, you look at the training manual Akiho gave you for tips, and alternate between that and your phone screen to look at his stats. HP, MP, Attack, Defense, Speed, and Brains. All of them are exactly what you’d expect them to be, but Brains seems to be Battle competency. Noting that, you decide to…

I agree the "game" was pretty enjoyable, just saying. There was more cut-scene than game, in my opinion.
