“Do you have a problem?” You ask, striking a pose as you stare at the little bitch and his partner. Black. Part of you is reminded of what you named DP, but that is a side note as DP is infinitely superior. But as of this moment, he seems to be looking at you with confusion.

“What? A problem?” Yuuya scoffs, before laughing at you outright. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that? Or rather… it seems your partner has a problem.” He shrugs his arms loosely, and shakes his head with a cocky grin. “He looks weak.”

This guy just pisses you off. However, before you can say anything more, the others catch on to what’s happening, and attempt to defuse the situation by cutting in.

“A-Anyway, we’re so relieved we found you.” Akiho laughs nervously. “Sorry if all of us coming out of nowhere seems kind of overwhelming… it's really kind of urgent, though. We actually wanted to ask you for your help for something because we need an extra hand...”

“So when Sasha told us you were around, we went looking for you.” Nicolai nods.

“If it’s not too much trouble…” Finally, the kid with goggles speaks up. “If possible, could you come with us to Jijimon’s house? Just to hear out what we have to say.”

“I’m sure you must have a lot of questions.” Mirei says flatly. “We can answer them there.”

As you step into Jijimon’s house with Dorumon, you’re rather tense. Mirei, Rina, Akiho, Taiga, Nico, and the little cunt are here, but what’s more alarming is to see the mop standing in the middle of the room. Without any warning, he yells the moment he sees you.

He’s baffled, but he seems to take your request. After wandering away and gathering clothes from a chest, he holds out two different piles. You can distinctly make out cargo pants in one pile, while you can see a belt pouch and fanny pack in the other pile.

Deciding that it would be a waste to choose one pile over the other, you take both and go into Jijimon’s basement to change to get the best of both. After, you walk back upstairs and glance at all of them.

“I’m the eighth what now?”

“Participant.” Mirei chimes in. “Recently, something happened in the Digital World… Jijimon received an Anonymous mail from someone. While this normally wouldn’t be acknowledged, it seems we shouldn’t take this situation lightly.”

“But what exactly IS the situation?” You press. “Why am I here? What the hell do you guys want with me and DP?”

“Look, we know you’re overwhelmed, but…” Akiho says, with a slightly panicked expression. “The Digital World is at stake here!”

“Frankly. We want you to participate in a tournament with seven other people.” Mirei answers.

“All of six of us got an email from someone. It was generic; like someone was sending a thank you letter.” Taiga speaks. “Nico, Akiho, Rina and I were the only ones to open the email, but we didn’t realize there was a bug in it. That basically reset all of our Digimon back to their rookie forms.”

“Rookie?” You ask.

“All Digimon have different forms. From Baby, to In-Training, to Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and lastly, Mega. Your Dorumon, for instance, is currently a Rookie.” Jijimon supplies. “Everyone here, save for Mirei, who has two partners of the Ultimate level, had Digimon who were at the last level of their evolution. However, once Taiga, Akiho, Nico, and Rina alerted Mirei and Yuuya not to open the email, their Digimon were spared. However…” Jijimon sighed. “As all of that occurred, I received an email of my own.”

“And what did that say?”

“It was from Analog Man.”

Instantly, Dorumon falls silent. Ignoring him, the bitch kid looks at you, and smirks.

Pretty much. In this quest, his stats are just approximations of his actual abilities. Note, that you guys didn't stay long enough to wait and be told about how to take care of your partner. By doing that, you missed a lot of things. As you yell, it’s taken aback and falters, giving you a window of opportunity to strike. Rushing forward, you take your singed hand and curl it into a fist, using your momentum to ram it against the Guardromon’s visor repeatedly without stopping. Unlike the time before, you succeed in denting its armor several times, and use enough force to topple it onto its back.
