Not wanting to get caught up and being late, you turn to Charles.

“Run.” you say as you start running. He seems to get the message and quickly runs to your side. To the rear you hear the gaggle of girls not giving chase.

“Are you sure we should be running?” Charles asks as he reaches stride.

“Yeah. Don't want to get caught up in that right now. Guess that would happen.” you reply.

“Is this normal?” he asks as you make your way to the locker room.

“No but with another guy here, they would all get curious. Same thing happened to me.” you answer him.

“Ah I see.” he replys after bit of a pause.

The two of you reach the Men's Locker room without trouble and a bit of time to spare.

“Sorry for causing so much trouble on my first day.” he says.

“Don't worry about it. This is probably just one of those things that will happen when more guys are found that can pilot IS'.” you say as you start to undress.

“Yes, I suppose you are right.” he says in reply.

“It is nice to have another guy around. Sure being surrounded by all the girls here is nice but even there are times where that can be problematic. I hope we get along.” you say now getting into the IS uniform.

“Ah yeah I can see how having another boy around would be nice. I also hope we can get along.” he says after a pause.

Guess he might still be out of breathe you think to yourself. He might also be suffering from jet lag like how you where so that would explain the pauses. You finish changing, you see he is already finished changing before you.

“Already changed? You should have said something. Well let's get going.” you say to him.

Both of you start walking to Field 2 when you notice he is wearing a slightly different uniform.

“That looks different, custom job for the uniform?” you ask.

“Well yes. It's an original made by Dunois Corporation. I had them make this as a custom order.” he replies to your question.

“Oh nice, some sort of relation to the company?” you follow up with.

“Yes, my father is the CEO of the company.” he answers.

“Oh cool. I'm sure you'll be really popular here. Just be careful, the uniforms for the girls don't leave much to your imagination.” you say.

“Careful?” he asks.

“Yeah a boner. It would really awkward to have everyone see that you have one.” you say to him. Charles just seems to light up blushing, you just laugh. Guess he might be a bit sheltered from being a rich kid.

You both reach Field 2, Ms Orimura is already there and most of the class is too. After a few minutes everyone is already here and lined up. And right on time, Ms Orimura starts the class.

“We'll start today's practice. We will start with a demonstration fight first. Alcott, Fan, the two of you with personal IS will participate.” Ms Orimura says to the entire class.
Cecilia and Huang seems to grumble a bit as they reach the front of the formation. As they pass Ms Orimura, you see her say something to Cecilia and Huang which seems to instantly change their disposition.

“Of course it would be natural for myself, Cecilia Alcott, England's Candidate Rep skill.” Cecilia says with confidence in front of everyone.

“This is the perfect opportunity to show off who is better.” Huang says with similar confidence.

The class just seems to sigh at their declaration.

After Ms Orimura says that, you start to hear a scream.

“Please move out of the way.” Ms Yamada yells as she comes closer and closer to the ground.

The best way to avoid injury is prevention. You quickly activate your IS with no problems as your classmates have already started dispersing. You thrust upward as quickly as possible in Ms Yamada's vector. Once you are close enough, you pour all the thrust you needed into matching her speed and vector.

<Adjusting velocity for capture.> Reinforce prompts on the HUD after she fires some of your thrusters.

After a brief second, you catch Ms Yamada in your arms and flip around so your primary thrusters are pointed toward the earth and give it all your thrust. The ground gets closer and closer as you continue to thrust slowing down. After what is a tense moment, you land softly with Ms Yamada in your arms.

“Ah Smith-kun if you keep this up, I'm not sure I can stay as your teacher. But that might be so bad.” Ms Yamada says blushing in you arms.

“Don't worry Yamada-sensei. I'm here to save all of you, yourself included.” you reply with absolute confidence. You look down as see her blushing in your arms. You quickly notice that one of your hands is cupping her massive bust. Even with your IS gauntlets, they were very large. Damnit boner, you just gave Charles this advice and here you go not following it. You put her down before she notices you coping a feel.

The class around you sighs in relief as the crisis was averted.

“That is just like John-kun to save someone.” you hear one of them say with some of the other girls agreeing with that statement.

“Everyone get back into formation.” Ms Orimura commands to the classes off to your side to survey how Ms Yamada is. “Good job on the quick thinking Smith.” she says as you take you spot once again. “Alright lets get started.” Ms Orimura says as everyone is back in formation.

“Are you so sure about that?” Huang asks also in her IS, now repaired back to full after the duel the two of you had.

You see the three of them start to fly upward to take position for the match.

“Yamada-sensei's IS is the Rafele Revive made by Dunios Company. It is a new model that exceeds all Second Generation models and even some Third Generation ones. “ Charles says in front of the class.

You hear him talk as the telltale sound of IS weaponry fired overhead where Ms Yamada is firing at Cecilia while she is forced to evade.

Charles continues on,“The Rafale Revive is the best model for the Second Generation IS' and subsequently has a third of the market shares across the world. It's large amount of buss slots allows it to be customized for short or long range.”

The sound of several thuds, probably from a grenade launcher, followed by the yelps of two girls as they come crashing down to the earth.

“It is even possible for use in defense for personal security details.” Charles finishes with a crash in the background as Cecilia and Huang impact the earth.

You hear the two of them start to go at each other blaming one another for the loss.

“Now that you understand the skill of your teacher make sure to address her with respect.” Ms Orimura injects. “Next we will train in groups. The leaders will be those with personal IS'. Now split up.” Ms Orimura follows.

The girls quickly start to split up and you get swamped by a bunch of them.

“Smith-kun let's train together.” one says as she approaches you.

“Teach me everything I don't know.” another says following her.

“All right, all right.” you say to them. You see the the remaining girls split up roughly evenly between yourself, Charles, Cecilia and Huang. Looks like Charles had no problem getting a bunch of girls, he'll do fine you think to yourself. “Let's start alphabetically with fitting and walking.” you say to the your group of girls with Houki in your group.

“Here here here.” one girls says excitedly to you, “I'm Aikawa Kiyoka. I'm part of the handball club. My hobbies are sports and jogging. I'll be in your care.” she follows moving her hand towards you.

“I'll do my best to help you then Kiyoka-chan.” you say in response taking her hand.

“No fair.” one girl in your group says.

“Me too.” another says, echoed by yet another girl which then line up with their hands out.

“Wait your turn girls.” you say with a smile.

You take her through the fitting the IS to her and have her walk in the IS. Kiyoka seems to have a bit of a problem with the gait so you point out some tips and she stops walking awkwardly. You help her out of the IS where she just seems to he happy as she takes your hand to get out of it. You slowly go through the rest of the girls who seem to have a similar reaction. You guess you made more fans today you think to yourself.

“How am I suppose to get into the IS?” Houki asks as her turn comes around.

“What? Oh crap, forgot to tell her to move the down from the upright position.” you say as you see the IS fully upright.

Ms Yamada comes over and says, “Oh you should have not forgotten that. But that is ok since you are still learning. You'll just have to use your IS to carry her up to the IS.”

“Ok I'll do that.” you say as you activate your IS.

“What?” Houki says shocked, “Lift me up to the IS?”

“Hey Charles, let's have lunch with Houki on the school rooftop.” you say to him while you change next to him in the locker room.

“Are you sure, I thought you two are close?” he asks in return.

“Eh already have a hot date?” you say screwing with him.

“Ah no, it's just you two seem rather comfortable around each other.” he says obviously flustered. Guess that was something easy to screw with him then.

Both of you quickly get changed. Once you start heading towards the school, you run into Cecilia holding what looks to be a picnic basket.

“Ah John, there you are. I was wondering if you would like to join me for lunch? I made something today that I know you will love.” Cecilia asks you.

“Sure. Houki asked me earlier and I think it would be great if you can join us.” you answer her.

Cecilia mumbles something to herself about something. “Well if it is Houki, I don't mind too much. I'm sure my rival had the same idea as myself.” Cecilia responds.

Cecilia joins you and Charles as you make your way to the school rooftop. Taking the stairs to the rooftop, you run into Huang on the way. You all walk towards the roof and reach the door. As you reach for the door, Huang interrupts.

“Are you following me?” Huang says annoyed with you.

“No, just going to have lunch up on the rooftop.” you answer her, ignoring her annoyance.

Houki doesn't look too amused at you. “What is the meaning of this?” she asks as you, Cecilia, Charles and Huang take a seat.

“I thought it would be good to invite Charles since he just arrived. Cecilia asked us to lunch so instead I asked her to join us. And we met Huang on the stairs and on the spur asked her too. I figure it would be more fun this way.” you answer her.

Houki just sighs, “ I suppose you are right about Charles. But what about those two.” You just see the three of them stare at each other.

“Ah Houki it would be expected that my rival would have the same idea as myself.” Cecilia says with much pride.

“Well um just some choice ingredients like...” Cecilia says and starts listing off a bunch of bizarre and odd items that have no right to put into a sandwich.

“Denied. I think we won't be eating those.” you say to her after she listed off those ingredients.

“But I worked so hard to make them.” Cecilia says pouting.

“Well then I guess I'll have to teach you the right and proper way to make a sandwich then.” you say as you grab the picnic basket from her. Can't let anyone else eat that. You don't want to send people to the Nurses' Office.

Huang starts laughing, “So you run into me during the match and can't cook. Oh this is too good.”

Houki just happily responds to the the praise. “I just tried some new seasoning with diakon, garlic and bit a of ginger.” she says happily.

“It's really good, you should have some.” you say.

“Uh no it's fine. I had to eat the failed ones.” she mumbles after she turns away a bit. “But it's fine if you enjoy it.” she says turning to you smiling again.

After Charles's idea, lunch goes smoothly. Houki's bento was really good. But man Rin was right about being proud about her sweet and sour pork. It was absolutely great. Charles split his lunch box he bought the same time you bought your sandwiches. Once lunch is done you all head back to class. Rin seems to have lightened up, probably from everyone commenting on how good her lunch is.

Afternoon classes go by and eventually the school day ends. Since Charles is still new here, you invite him to your study group. Cecilia and Houki understand why so they don't raise too much of a fuss. Honne, Yuzu and Sakuya seems to really be happy that Charles joins the group. Looks like he is also making some fans today. Study group doesn't get too much done but everyone is enjoyed it.

The day reaches the end and you head back to your dorm which you now share with Charles. You help him move his luggage up the flights of stairs and he unpacks. Once that is done you both relax

When you are both relaxing Charles asks you, “So what did you do before you came here?”

“Well let's see, I was on a fast track science and engineering program at my high school before the terrorist attack. Was doing pretty well actually, even the foreign language I was taking.” you respond in between the sips of water.

“Oh what language was that?” he asks.

“Actually I studied German for the year I was there. Impressed the teacher actually. He said I should take the full 4 years and study abroad in Germany.” you answer Charles.

“Hehe, planning ahead if they get uppity again?” he asks after he chuckles a bit.

“Don't be silly, Germany is a close ally now. If anything happens I would have to go through France again. Guess that would mean I would need your help there.” you respond smiling at the joke.

“It would be good for you see Europe before you Americans all bomb it again.” he continues on the with the banter.

“Hey now, America is the best when it comes to air power. Our precision guided munitions are the best in the world. Anyway, America and myself fight against terrorists that threaten the peace of our world.” you continue.

“Yeah I heard about that. Was it really scary? I heard there was quite a lot of damage.” he asks with a bit of concern.

“Well it wasn't so bad. The IS I used then was really good at fighting and surviving. Much better shield than the Maeve I'm using now. Besides if I didn't do anything, more people would have gotten hurt.” you respond. Guess people are still going to ask about that, best not to get too hung up on it.

“So do you mind if I practice with you? I mean you must be good at piloting if you could fight them off.” Charles asks.

“Well let's see.” you say as you pull out your schedule. “Well Wednesday and Saturday are free. I know Cecilia wanted her cooking lessons with my on Saturday but I suppose I can just have them the normal days I practice with Cecilia.” you say.

“Yeah that sounds good. But isn't it weird that we will practice on Saturday?” Charles asks.

“Yeah but I kind of gotten use to it since we still have school on Saturday.” you answer, not a good sign you are getting use to it at all you think to yourself.

“Sounds like a plan.” he responds somewhat bit more happily than you would expect.

“It sure is nice to have a guy around. Nice to have someone watch your back since some of the girls can get a little, aggressive. Besides we can always ditch on Saturday. There is a mall complex nearby that should have something fun to do.” you respond.

“You mean like Cecilia?” Charles asks.

“At first she was a handful but I took care of that problem quickly enough.” you answer.

“Really? It looks like a whole new bunch of problems are there. I can see her being really high maintenance.” Charles responds, “And looks like Houki can be a bit cold at times I bet.”

“I suppose but I have a good idea on how to handle them. They may be a handful but they are honest girls at heart.” you respond a bit absent mindfully.

After the fun bantering and talking, you both head to sleep. You wonder if more guys will come even if it means you might get less attention from all the girls here. The next day announces itself with that alarm. You really hate that alarm. You meet up with Houki at breakfast who is eating from the Japanese breakfast menu. You have some eggs and toast with more bacon and Charles has some omelets. You head to class after breakfast where Ms Yamada has an announcement.

“So we have some more happy news today. We have another friend added to his class.” Ms Yamada announces, “She is a transfer student from Germany, Laura Bodewig.” A slim silver haired girl walks to the front of the classroom.

You hear some of the class being confused about having another transfer student a second day in a row.

“No talking, Bodewig-san hasn't finished introducing herself.” Ms Yamada says to quiet down the class.

“Laura introduce yourself.” Ms Orimura says to her.

“Yes Instructor. I am Laura Bodewig.” she quickly says.

After a bit of pause, Ms Yamada asks, “Is that all” in a slightly confused.

“That is all” Laura quickly responds.

After her response she just seems to stare daggers at you. You hear her mumble in German, “Why you. I will not accept that you are someone that can use it better than me.”

You have no idea what is going on with her but you sense that this will be a problem.

And that's it for tonight. Next time we will have to deal with Germany getting uppity again. This might require some sort of invasion plan.
