Hello and welcome to the eventh thread of Digimon Quest. The rules are simple. You reply with the letter of the choice you wish to support. There are ten minutes between the latest post and when voting ends. If a vote that needs a roll wins, the rolling will happen AFTER it wins with it passing so long as one of the first 3 rolls wins. If multiple options tie at the end of the ten minutes of voting they will either be combined or a tiebreaker will be held to decide. That's about it.

Quietly you slide out of bed, praying the wooden floors don't sell you out. Soon enough your ear is against the door. You can't quite make out whose voices they are, but you can tell that there are at least two talking. "Ah, it's finally the night. I hate playing this missionary schtick."
"Oh be quiet. Now we've got five people rather than just the one human. Oh I was getting tired of his accent."
"Well, lets get to work. I'm sure at least the Keramon will be a wonderful offering to Dragomon."

You take a step back when you realize the voices were getting very close to your door. You really wish you could just get a full night's sleep here. Before you call dwell more on your poor luck the door opens and in walks Ranamon in a black cloak, surprised to see you up and standing. "Well, this is awkward."

You leap at the Ranamon and try to shove your Digivice into her side. The cloak she was wearing being black and the dark has screwed up your perception however and your swing just hits the back of her cloak. Both Ranamon and you however tumble to the ground thanks to your tackle.

Gomamon, who had been waiting out in the hall, runs into the room. "Ranamon are you ok?" As he asks you'd gotten yourself up off of her a bit. "... Naw, the joke is too easy." With that decided the flippered Digimon tackles you, knocking you off of Ranamon and against the wall.

"Human! What is all the noise?!" Keramon asks, walking into the room while rubbing one of his eyes only to freeze mid-step at the sight of you against the wall, Ranamon getting off of the floor, and both the Digimon clad in cloaks. "What in the world is going on here?"

At the moment, you're a little too in pain and angry to answer Keramon. You tackle Gomamon, driving your Digivice right into his side and shocking the little fucker. He writhes under you before the Digivice stops and he's still, out cold for now.

"Oh, we're fighting. Very well then." Keramon says with a yawn and a stretch before his arm shoots out, grabbing the Ranamon by the neck and lifting her up. "Now then, I doubt my human would just attack you out of nowhere. After all, you are in his room in those outfits. Mind explaining?" He asks before opening his mouth and visibly preparing a Bug Blaster. Ranamon doesn't answer a dark acidic cloud pouring from under her cloak, causing Keramon to yelp in pain and drop her before she runs out of the room and down the hall.

Panting from the adrenaline that had you going so far you get off of Gomamon and tap him with your foot. You notice something different though, he has more hair and he seems smaller than this morning.

You pull up the scanner option on your Digivice and point its camera at Gomamon. Strangely, rather than the instant mention, there's a loading bar. It going a bit slow so you decide you might as well get the news off of your chest. "Keramon, Joe told me about ... well you."

Keramon, who had been looking down the hall until now, jumps a bit before slowly turning to look at you. "I see. Well then, I suppose you told him something about how you could keep me in line or some such? After all, you control when I eat after all." As Keramon talks you can tell he's getting himself worked up, getting angrier with each word. He must have been stewing over the Petermon situation all day. "About how you'd keep this monster in line is that it? I know you haven't trusted me since we met. I'm just a kidnapper you have the upper hand over."

You're about to answer him when your Digivice beeps. You check the screen, it not saying it is a Gomamon, but now a Gomamon X. Underneath is a pair of yes and no buttons under a message that says 'Extract X-antibody?’

"Keramon that is not at all what I told them. What I said to Joe and Jordan was that just because your kind has a reputation doesn't really mean anything to me. I mean we got help from the queen of the spider Digimon earlier and I'm convinced the only reasons he has that human form is as a lure. So no, I don't think you're some evil monster that's going to try and kill me." The look of anger on Keramon's face is replaced with surprise, his balled up fists opening and hanging at his side. "But you know what? You wanna be evil? Then let’s get a little evil on the guys that trapped me here."

Keramon's shocked expression slowly turns into a smile as Jordan, Betamon, and Joe walk down the hall, asking what all the commotion is. "Oh it's nothing. Just my human showing me I made the right choice in that school. Don't you worry, we'll get back at that Jacob and his friends, but for now, there are more pressing matters."

He turns to face the others as you press the ok button on your phone, Gomamon X shining as though he was about to Digivolve before turning back into Gomamon. "Well guys, the deal is we're in a trap. Gomamon here and Ranamon said they were going to sacrifice us to someone called Dragomon and I'm not sure I want to let that slide. Let’s go find her."

Joe looks shocked before that anger you saw when he thought you had insulted him shows on his face once again. Jordan mutters something about 'beaches' and Betamon looks almost sad, walking up to the knocked out Gomamon and poking him with a talon. "Wh-what're we going to do with him?"

"Keramon finish him off, I owe you after Petermon after all and I'm not feeling real sympathetic for someone who was going to kill me in my sleep." You step away from the downed Gomamon with a saddened Betamon following you. Keramon says his thanks before overcharging a Bug Blaster and taking out his fellow rookie class with a few shots before absorbing the data.

"So, it seems Gomamon had upgraded himself before coming after us. The Digivice said he was a Gomamon X. Keramon, Betamon, do either of you want it?" Keramon shakes his head, saying he's pretty full as Betamon says a small "Yes please." You look over to Jordan who just sort of shrugs. You return the gesture before pressing the X-Antibody icon on your Digivice and pointing it at Betamon.

He glows as per usual before slowly changing. Two additional fins sprout on his back and spikes come from his knees. It's Jordan who speaks up. "Well, I like the fins, but the spikes seem a bit much." You can't help but agree, but Joe seems to think it's a pretty marked improvement.

"Now then Keramon, I think it's time we see what you get." You thrust your Digivice outward as Keramon gets a big giddy smile on his face. "It's time to Digivolve!" Your thumb hits the Digivolution icon as your Digivice and partner shine ... for a second before the light fizzles out and the program closes itself on your Digivice. No one really says anything, just a bit of coughing and awkward shuffling.

A. Search the house for Ranamon.
B. Head out the front door and explore the beach for Ranamon.
C. Head out and explore the near by palm tree grove for Ranamon.

After a very brief discussion the others decide she'd most likely have gone to the beach. Aquatic Digimon and all that. The five of you make your way down stairs and out the front door onto the beach. It's then that you REALLY wish you'd pulled off that Digivolution as you see two Digimon that Betamon X says are MarineDevimon slowly making their way out of the sea. Oddly, you see no sign of Ranamon.

"Betamon! It's time to test out that upgrade." Jordan says, stepping out ahead of the group with Betamon X at his side. His Digivice starts to glow as does Betamon X before changing into Seadramon X. You note that it's fins are bigger like this and its head more like a barracuda or something than the dragon like head it had before. "Ice Spear!" Seadramon X fires directly into the surf, freezing the salt water and temporarily trapping the MarineDevimon, although they are already pounding at the thick ice.

"Keramon! Let’s try this again!" Keramon nods, while the others give you a bit of an amused look, expecting another failure. You active the Digivolution program, but something is very different this time. The light is so much more intense as Keramon changes. "Keramon digivolve to ... Infermon!" The light doesn't fade, but seems to burst off of Infermon as he stands on his six spidery legs. "Oh human, you are just full of surprises." Infermon growls as its feet dig into the sand and red bolts fire out of its mouth at the pair of MarineDevimon.

"Shoot. Do all Digimon just balloon up like these two when they Digivolve? Can't imagine what those suckers on the beach would look like next." Joe says, throwing an arm over your shoulder as Jordan walks over to join you two. "He didn't just Digivolve. From what my scanner's saying you jumped a step man. He's past Seadramon now.” Jordan says, tapping his glasses to shut off the scanner.

The MarineDevimon finally free themselves, although damaged from the pot shots Infermon was taking. The pair roars as they rush the beach, large waves of sand coming at you from their giant foot falls. "Hold on human." Infermon braces himself against the sand before launching himself forward, almost blinding the three of you from the kicked up sand as his body retracts into a cocoon and ramming right into one of the MarineDevimon, knocking it onto its back.

The second MarineDevimon doesn't pay much mind to its fallen comrade, continuing its march onto the beach as Seadramon X bursts out from beneath the sand around its feet, wrapping around its legs and knocking it down onto the ground.


> In combat like this you will gain control of Infermon since there is sadly not much our MC can do against an Ultimate Digimon.

A. Help out Seadramon X and help keep its MarineDevimon down.
B. Seadramon X can take care of itself, focus on your own MarineDevimon.
C. Get some distance between you and MarineDevimon and take it out at range.

You decide that SeadramonX can protect itself for now. After all, back before his upgrade he held up fairly well against MadLeomon. Yes, this was a time for you to enjoy yourself. Sadly, Infermon lack the ability to smile, but if you could, you would. "So sorry MarineDevimon, but something tells me you're with that nice Ranamon and we have business." You've never been so glad to have 6 legs, allowing you to pin each of MarineDevimon's limbs down as you fire at its head pointblank.

The devilfish's body begins to break up and static as it's damaged. You'd dare say this was almost too easy until a black inky sludge shoots forth from the MarineDevimon's mouth, catching you in the face and burning you. With a scream you launch yourself off and toward the water, dunking your head into the sea. Why do all the Digimon you fight have poison attacks like that? You're suddenly grabbed about the middle from behind before being lifted and slammed down onto the sand over and over by the MarineDevimon's back tentacles.

One rises up, aiming for the connective tissue between your body and head before the other claw smacks it away. "Ah, the downsides of autonomous body parts. Network Grenade!" You leap to your feet and toward the MarineDevimon, cocooning up and ramming through the middle of it. Its data finally breaking apart and feeding into you as Seadramon X smashes its frozen foe. You're almost disappointed when you see it didn't absorb it and instead reverts back to Betamon X, but you still feel oddly full of energy as you walk back to your human and his friends.

You were being honest before when you told Joe and Jordan that Keramon's true nature made you a bit nervous, but seeing what you'd been able to do together, to completely bypass a stage of evolution made you so proud. Seeing how Infermon fought though, even ramming through his enemy did bring back some of those fears. More than anything, you're surprised when he's still Infermon coming back to you. You glance at your Digivice for a clue, only to find a new icon and a timer suggesting that he'll be Infermon for a while.


A. Suggest you all go back to the cabana and rest.
B. Search the beach for Ranamon.
C. Search the Palmtree grove for Ranamon.

Uh the US one is 3 smooshed together. The first was the big promo for Digimon and is canon so maybe find that subbed. Our War Games is what Keramon is from so I'd suggest that on principal. Don't like the last 3rd of the American movie. my bias shows but watch revenge of diaboromon. It's good and has more Diaboromon. I know nothing of any of the other movies.

You sigh as you look up at Infermon who you think is trying to smile. "Well guys, I've got no idea what to do next. Do we look for Ranamon? Head to the cabana? I don't know." You shrug and just flop down onto the sand before feeling something pick you up by the collar of your shirt. It's Infermon, lifting you up and setting you onto his back.

"Dude, at this point I say we head back to the cabana and maybe do sleep shifts in case she comes back. I'm beat and we spent most of yesterday walking." Jordan says with a sigh as he picked Betamon X up, careful to avoid the new spikes. Betamon X ends up suggesting heading back to the village you fought MadLeomon at, saying that it seems like a good place to set up as a home base. "I say we go after her. All this time I thought she was some nice fish woman here she is tryin' ta get me killed." Joe says, kicking some sand in frustration. "Either way I'm stickin' with you guys."

You look down to Infermon who seems lost in thought before asking the others for some privacy. You need to talk to him about something. "So, this is you now huh?" You ask, patting the spike in front of you. "I have to say, I didn't really see this happening. I mean, we'd failed just a second ago, but then this." You sigh and lean back on the spike behind you. "It's ... impressive."

You feel Infermon shaking under you and realize that he's laughing. "While I wish I could say that I am a pioneer for my kind, I am not. It isn't too terribly rare for a Keramon to skip the Champion level completely and go straight to his Ultimate, Infermon. Although it is said we end up stronger if we don't skip Champion." His body rises a bit then falls, a shrug. "Don't worry human, I'm not going to suddenly go on a rampage and I'm certainly not about to hurt you. The power that made me like this is from the bond between us and I think that should help settle any fears." Infermon begins walking over the sand back to the others; it's quite the smooth ride actually. "For now, we should figure out what we're to do next. After all, I think we're now enemies with Dragomon."

That is it for today. We got some plot developement and some real progress with Keramon. Next thread should be Wednesday at 2pm, but as always any updates will come through the quest's twitter account. I hope everyone had fun and I'll stick around a bit to answer any questions you might have.

I will say, if it all those rolls for the first choice had all been in the teens then you could have gotten captured and this would have been more like a traditional "captured by a cult" plot line.
