Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/rNg3Yw8m (picture included)

You kind of sit frozen for a second, not knowing what to say. That doesn’t stop you from trying to say stuff, though. “Oh. S-sorry,” you say. “I uh…. I… uh….” You what? You suddenly get to your feet, and the blanket falls off you. You’re really, really glad it’s dark. You turn and make a retreat, saying, “I’m… going to go somewhere else.” Except, as you leave, your legs get kind of stuck on the quilt and you trip, and almost wind up face planting.

Thankfully, you catch yourself at the last second.

You’re not the only one that’s embarrassed, though. Wolfgang stumbles to his feet, and calls after you. “No it’s – I would have told you if I thought – !“

“Nothing happened,” you say, walking away quicker now. You concentrate on your rapid retreat, and hastily leave Wolfgang behind.

Once the coast is clear and you’re nearing the bonfire again, you let out a sigh of relief. That was maybe the most embarrassing thing that you’ve ever done. (+4 Stress: 40/100) Before you continue on, you realize you left your blanket with Wolfgang, and that it’s really cold. You decide to make a sidetrack, and go collect your coat from your stuff before returning to the party.

You find Moriah and Baron, and sit down next to your dog Reeber.

Moriah seems to have recovered enough to be sitting up and looking around, though she still looks pretty sour. Baron sees you coming over, and nods at you. “How’s that Wolfgang guy doing?” he asks.

Moriah looks over at your coming, as does Reeber.

>Shut up.
>I’m gonna get another drink. This one ran out kind of fast.

Pet the Reeber. Always pet the Reeber.

Also, look around for some kind of table, piece of driftwood, or whatever, that we can play five-finger-fillet on. It's always fun to show off, and maybe it'll change the subject from Wolfgang and what just happened to how awesome we are.

“Oh yeah, he’s great,” you say, trying not to sound like you just made out with him a little. “You know, he was just telling me about his girlfriend and stuff.” You sit down heavily on the sand by your dog, and lay yourself on him. “You know he had a girlfriend?”

Baron becomes a nonentity.

Moriah sits her chin on her knees and squints at you from under her you provided blanket. “I had suspicions,” she croaks.

Oh no. Moriah probably wants to know all about it. That’s something you can dodge easily. “Moriah!” you say, almost shouting. You smile maybe a little too much. “How’s the thing? I thought you were out for the count.”

She grimaces. “I wish I was.”

“She’s coming around,” says Baron. “It’s pretty weird. I’ve never heard of anybody getting hit so hard so quick by a drink before. Maybe you should sue?”

“Yeah,” you parrot. “Maybe you should sue.”
>>
>>34046605

“That won’t be necessary,” Moriah replies, lightly closing her eyes. “I’d like to just enjoy whatever’s left of this get together.”

“You want a sandwich?” Baron asks.

She makes a negative sound. “I’m still not felling very well. Let’s just… talk.” She takes a breath and looks back at you, smiling slightly. “Wolfgang never talks much about his personal life,” she tells you. “Is something bothering him? He’s seemed a little more quiet than usual, lately. It’s strange that he’d open up to you about a relationship before me or Maviel.”

You cringe inside yourself. Maybe you should have gone for another drink. (+2 Stress: 42/100)

>Yep. Pretty strange.
>What about you guys? Any hot dates in your people’s future?
>Probably the booze talking. You see how many he’s had?
>Well, I’m not surprised, I guess. I was kind of surprised, actually, but not in hindsight.
>Yeah I uh. Guess I… uh. Seemed kind of curious, because uh. You know. He definitely opened up.
>You think it’s a serious kind of thing? You said you had suspicions.

“Yep,” you say in a bored tone. “Pretty strange. Let’s not talk about Wolfgang anymore.” You look through the crowd, and see Rowan and Will chatting with Harvey. That perks up a little. “What about you people? Got any up and coming BF’s or GF’s?” You point out Rowan. “Ro’s going around showing hers off to everybody.”

“I’m not attracted to drama,” Moriah says flatly. “High school relationships are a bad idea, four out of five times.”

You smirk at her unfunness. Is that a word? Well, it is now. “C’mon,” you tease her. “Gotta have a crush or somebody from the people you know.”

Baron sees the topic’s about to dry up, and throws some fuel on the fire. “I used to have a crush on Alecia,” he says, smiling as he braces for comeuppance.

You laugh at him. “She’s a total airhead,” you say. “But I guess she’s pretty cute. Could do worse, I suppose.”

“It’s not so much the looks as it is her laughing at all my jokes,” Baron replies. “Although, after awhile her laughing at everything gets annoying. Sometimes it’s better not to laugh.” He looks over at Moriah. “What about you, Sierra’s friend? I’d say let me guess and then throw out a bunch of names you’d probably stereotypically like, you know….”

Her reply is terse. “Because I’m Goth?” she asks.

“I wanted to avoid labels,” says Baron in a judicious tone. “So, you have any secret shrines erected to anybody?”
>>
>>34048145
“No,” Moriah replies, with surprising firmness.

Her sureness seems a little too sure. “Oh come on,” you say, ragging a little on her. “We’re among friends. Reveal the secret.”

She’s not budging on the matter.

“Reveal it!” you demand.

Baron gives up. “She’s not going to play the game,” he says sadly.

But then Moriah, surprisingly, does play the game. “Shawn Odell,” she says, instantly regretting sharing the name with you.

While she’s looking at you, Baron gives you a pained smile behind her back, obviously trying not to burst out laughing aloud.

You’ve heard that name somewhere from school. Wait. “That’s that kid that…” you find it really hard not to snicker or grin or anything. (-2 Stress: 40/100) Shawn Odell pretty much dresses head to toe in black, and wears dark makeup. “I get it,” you say, being mature for Moriah’s sake. “He’s not afraid to uh… be himself. That’s cool.” He’s also not afraid to look gay as hell.

“What about you?” Baron asks, turning the whole thing onto your head.

You feel like you’re being stabbed. Stupid Wolfgang and his stupid girlfriend. (+2 Stress: 42/100) “Yeah, I don’t really see many options on the table,” you say neutrally. “I’m picky.”
>>
>>34048174
Baron chuckles. “Well, you’ve only been here a couple months. I bet you just haven’t met the person yet. But be warned: I have a couple friends that keep asking me about you. Just because you’re not crushing on anyone currently doesn’t mean nobody’s crushing on you.”

You snort at the assessment. If anybody’s got their eye on you, it’s probably just because you’re the new flavor of the week or whatever. “Wouldn’t surprise me,” you say. You decide to talk about something that’s not relationships for like, one second. “So Moriah, uh. Sorry about you getting poisoned or whatever. I hope I didn’t ruin your party-goer desire forever.”

She looks up for a moment at the people milling about in the firelight, and offers a little smile. “No, I’m glad you invited me,” she says. “I made a mistake. Other than that… it’s been a lot of fun. Your friends are cool.” She glances over at Vikrama, who’s sitting in a circle with a few other people and telling ghost stories while eating s’mores.

You smile at the sight.

>My friends are all actually pretty lame. Not that that’s a bad thing. I think lame friends can make kind of better friends, maybe.

We should make s'mores before we go, but without the graham crackers. It's not like a marshmellow can burn us, and we can sandwich it in chocolate.

Hey, "are ghosts real" seems like a legitimate question Sierra would have asked the Hallows after learning that the supernatural is in fact a thing that is real; can we get an answer (inasmuch as the Hallows know for sure)?

Centaurs and Santa are also probably fair game questions, sphinxes proably less of an immediate question. And yes, narwhals are real, I'm not sure how that's relevant to supernatural stuff.

“Well, they can be your friends too, you know,” you tell her.

Baron agrees unnecessarily. “Yeah,” he says.

You ignore him. “That’s the thing. Friend’s aren’t exactly a nonrenewable resource. And before you think you might not fit in or whatever, screw it. You’re cool too, you know. You don’t have to get drunk at parties or, you know, do anything special to be special,” you say. “Although I’m not saying it doesn’t help.”

Moriah smiles a little at you when you finish your little friendship speech. “You can be really sensitive at the most random times,” she says.

You frown at her. “I’m just saying how it is,” you say.

“I’m just saying,” she replies. “It’s a compliment.”

You’re about to argue, but Baron interrupts. “Don’t say stuff like that to her, Moriah,” he warns. “She’ll get all cagey about it.”

“What are you talking about?” you ask, a little confused and kind of mad for some reason.

“Oh. Right,” Moriah replies, nodding.

“Cagey about what?” you ask.

The rest of the party goes well. You empty half a bag of marshmallows and consume at least a half-pound of chocolate. You refrain from drinking anything more than what you have already and stick to soda. Eventually Harvey comes over and reminds you that you have time constraints. You and him gather up your party. Sydney winds up sticking around with her brothers, who make sure to keep careful watch on her as she’s probably had a few too many drinks to drink tonight.

I don't think we've ever actually used the thing and had it work outside of training. Well, there was the goblin cave but we were so hopped up on flag magic that we could have just hellbolted instead. Its zappy attack is too damn loud and I don't know the damage dice on normal stabbing with it, but I'm willing to bet that our claws are more than good enough.

Officers have continued to wear swords long after the advent of firearms. A sword is a symbol with a history of rich and complex symbolic meaning, making it a valuable prop when addressing our subordinates. I think Sierra likes it because exploding sword fuck yeah. It'd be pretty handy in a number of situations. We just have a tendency to get into fights when we're having an otherwise normal day.

Its use doesn't cost PP which is nice, it lets us toss around larger enemies, using Stain of Sin on it is probably our best chance against someone like Satt, and it gives us another damage type.

It's not necessary, our claws are pretty good in melee, but it's nice to have.
>>
>>34050004
Hey Lang, are you ever gonna reveal the damage dice for guns and stuff? Doesn't have to be all of them, but maybe if Sierra gets a favorite shotgun/smg/pistol or something, it would makes sense that she has a feel for how hard it hits since she has hard numbers on her demon powers.

Or is us not being able to know gun damage something done on purpose because intuitive knowing about our own powers or something?

Putting a glamor on an inanimate objects is hardcore enchanting.

Glamors of the scale that conceal somebody like Ranthix are also hardcore, but Nabuth was the one that did all of the glamoring for Meckor and his people. Your glamors are relatively simple to deal with, since you only really hide your horns and tail.

Why exactly does Sierra need to 'work' towards getting a drivers licence? This is 'Murrica. If you can reach the pedals and know what a stop sign is, you can get one.

Don't know how it is in California, but I know here if you're under 18, which I think Sierra is, there are all sorts of tedious hoops you have to jump through, and waiting periods between them. At 18 it's about as easy as you say, though.

Since we're already getting a driver's license we should look into getting a motorcycle certification as well. We can get a good bike with the money from the gobbo job, our reflexes should make us a good driver, and it's not really all that dangerous considering how durable we are.

It'll give us a lot more freedom of movement, and seems to fit Sierra better than a car.

November pretty much evaporates, as does most of December.

It takes some time to put the events related to Meckor and his death out of the forefront of your mind, but time seems to be the best remedy. As days go by, new memories get heaped on the old ones, burying them away so you don’t always have to be dealing with them. Sometimes you wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat or like, start getting shaky for no reason, but generally, it gets better.

School continues to be an afterthought, though you get along famously with your friends. Game nights with Moriah and her family are a blast, even if Waldric sometimes brings his baron politics stuff to the table and Mr. Crowther gets distracted by talking about stuff you don’t understand. You manage to put the whole Wolfgang thing behind you. He’s cool enough not to bring up what happened again, and it doesn’t hurt your becoming friends with him.

Maviel’s also way nice all the time, which is cool. She confides to you and Moriah that Waldric and her are moving toward the whole ‘let’s get married’ thing, which you guess is cool and whatnot. As for Waldric, well, he has all these kinds of conclave things he does, but you don’t really have time for it. Since the conclave is pretty much you, Ranthix, and Mr. Crowther, with Isaac sitting in on an advisory capacity, you’re not too worried about it.

You always seem like you’re doing something. Like, you have enough money for a car, but you don’t have a license?
>>
>>34052774

What the heck’s with that? But as it turns out there’s all kinds of driver’s course things you have to do, and stupid material you have to read and whatever, even though you already know how driving works in its entirety. And while you might not be paying attention in school, you fill up your sketchbook and have to start in on a new one. Though you were never a shoddy artist, your more recent stuff really makes your old stuff look like crap, which you guess is a good thing.

That stuff aside, you spend a lot of time in the woods, and some in the gym with lots of Ranthix yelling at you to do all kinds of things. As far as you remember, you always did okay when you had PE, even if you didn’t really try that hard, but the stuff you can do now after fighting for your life and claiming landwells pretty solidly eclipses everything. But when Ranthix shouts at you to do pullups or tosses you around like a ragdoll during sparring, like, it’s hard, but at the same time, you don’t really get tired.

Like, your muscles burn, but you don’t burn out. This isn’t really a good thing, because Ranthix pushes you until you burn out. Whether he has you running up and down mountains or if he’s playing his WHY DON’T YOU STAND UP thing, everything is punishment. But it’s good punishment. You go from being able to do a solid twenty five pushups in a row to fifty. Some time aside, and you’re set to do another set.
>>
>>34052796

After several weeks, you find you’ve put on a couple pounds of what you would like to think is muscle, though with how much you have to eat to keep up the level of activity, you have your fears.

You don’t see much difference in the mirror, but hey, you’re improving you guess.

Other than that, Ranthix teaches you about bloodrage stuff. He seems unfamiliar with what it is you actually go through, but apparently it’s close enough to Infernus rage mode that there’s a few parallels with what you can do. For example, while you picture your whole mental load as a dam that could break if you let too much pressure build up, Ranthix kind of shows you how you can get hydro power coming in from that dam. The closer to the edge you get, the more wired you become. It’s a good thing for when people are trying to kill you, probably.

>Bloodrage: You become faster, stronger, and generally more angry the more stressed out you get. Not just in a metaphorical way, either. Ripping things apart at close range helps you come down from the high.

Ranthix isn’t the only one teaching you new tricks, though. You find your swording techniques are getting bunches better through continued practice with Rowan. As are, admittedly, your guitar techniques. You guess you gave one too many enviable glances at Rowan doing her thing, and she finally snapped and made you sit down and relearn some of the basics.
>>
>>34052808

Although while you don’t own a guitar, you do own a magic sword, so that kind of takes priority. You find out a neat trick with the sword where you can like, shoot lightning with it, so that’s something new. Also you owe Ro a couple apologies for how you found that out.

Other than that, the two of you are pretty good at working together. Rowan is a lot stronger since you gave her your landmaster’s blessing or bonus or powers or whatever they are. Oh yeah. And she can fucking fly. That was a cool development. The family made a weekend of it at Muir Woods once Isaac finally got all those angel books together. She’s not strong enough to carry people with her, but that’s not really the thing right now.

Isaac’s been keeping close tabs on you, and you let him. You pick up a lot of stuff just by being around him or talking to him and things. He tells you a bunch about the stuff he used to get up to with his dad, and about some of the things he’s had to go up against in his time. He was pretty much everywhere in World War 2, though a lot of that everywhere was on the Eastern Front helping the Soviets deal with Nazi occult crap. And it might not really be something you’d post on Facebook, but apparently your mom may or may not have been selling demon soldiers to the Axis Powers in exchange for unholy power.
>>
>>34052824

Anyway, from his numerous war stories, you’ve picked up several probably helpful tidbits that you’ll be sure to remember next time something’s trying to gnaw your face off. And you’re able to put all the flipping martial arts he keeps showing you to good use on Ranthix. All the stuff he shows you about controlling momentum is great when you’re fighting someone a hundred times your size.

Other than that, Moriah hangs around more with you and your friends. She’s still pretty awkward, but she gets along okay with Baron and you, and two out of four is fifty percent. Ro and Vikrama think well of her, at least. After school, you get Moriah to try to teach you some of the basic magic things. Apparently, not everybody can do magic. It requires some stuff. Since you’re a landmaster though, you should be capable of it.

Unfortunately as you find, Moriah isn’t the best teacher since she can literally see magic. She has a hard time trying to tell you what to do or what you’re doing wrong, because you can’t comprehend it like she does. Still, you do get kind of a framework of understanding going on. After watching her do some simple things enough times, you can play it by ESP and mimic the vibes you’re getting from her. For example, you can like. Make a ball of light and stuff. That’s a step in the right direction?

As for what Moriah does with her stuff, you eventually manage to wheedle out of her that she’s gifted with the power of death. As in, death magic.
>>
>>34052808
>>>Bloodrage: You become faster, stronger, and generally more angry the more stressed out you get. Not just in a metaphorical way, either. Ripping things apart at close range helps you come down from the high.
Huh. That's different from the one that was offered last time around for power picks. The old one reduced stress and gave us PP and HP every time we killed something with more reward for harder kills.
>>
>>34052835

Anyway, all that stuff aside, you’re lazing around the house in your PJ’s enjoying Christmas vacation.

Stress: 6/100
Sanity: 100/100

Currently, you’re sitting in the living room and watching Youtube videos on your laptop about how to play simplified Coldplay songs on your brand new guitar. It’s black with fancy red curvy lines on it, and also it is acoustic. Also it’s really hard to play the guitar?

You don’t even know what day of the week it is, but that doesn’t really matter.

Harvey’s got a headset on and sits on the couch nearby, playing some game or whatever. He’s mashing keys like a pro.

Ro’s nearby, laid out on the armchair. She looks up from the book she’s reading – some urban fantasy thing with the back of a shirtless woman displayed on the front cover. “How’s it coming along?” she asks you.

You position your hand as demonstrated by the video person, and strum the strings experimentally. It makes the desired pitch. Well. Almost. “It’s coming along, I guess,” you say, kind of getting fed up with all this business. “Though I’m starting to get the feeling that getting a guitar for Christmas is kind of a hardcore gift.” You don’t know if you’re really cut out for music. Everyone else seems so much better than you. Though, everybody you know has been playing guitar for a lot longer than you.
>>
>>34052863

“It’s worth it in the end,” Rowan promises, going back to her book.

You go back to guitaring, but when you looked over at Ro, it kind of messed up how you had your hair. It’s back in your eyes, again. Geeze, your hair’s starting to piss you off. You blow upwards until it makes way for your line of sight. You start the video over, and try to ingrain everything the guy’s telling you to do. Then you set yourself.

Hand in position. “Come up to meet you,” you mutter. Okay. Hand in a new position. “Tell you I’m…” these chords, man. “Flip all these flipping chords!” you shout, setting your guitar down and throwing up your hands. (+1 Stress: 7/100)

You feel a glow of seriousness come from the study, and look over to the closed door. Suddenly Isaac comes out, and looks like he’s revving up to go someplace and do stuff.

>Yo Isaac, what’s going down? Isn’t it like, Christmas Eve or something?
>Keep up with the guitar.
>Abandon guitar, sketchbooks.
>Count down the days until your birthday.

Just a note, Zelathis doesn't have the charge capacity listed. I'm pretty sure it was 5, but that should really be mentioned.

I'd like to suggest that you keep it as it is up in the Items of Importance section, but also add in an items-that-do-stuff section and format Zelathis down there like you do the abilities. Something like this with the various abilities bulleted under it:

Zelathis, Lightning Sword:<description of the sword. blah blah thrums with power blah>. Damage: ?d??, Max Charge: ???, Type: Piercing/slashing, Range: Touch (or length of blade?)
-<name of explodey thing>: Create an explosion at the tip of Zelathis' blade. Damage: ?d??, Cost: 1C, Type: Explosive/Lightning(?), Range: Touch (or length of blade?)

Begrudgingly, you pick up your guitar again. You’re going to show this fucking thing who’s boss. As you try to work out the third chord, you look over to Isaac. “What’s up, Isaac?” you shout over to him. “Isn’t it like, Christmas Eve or something?”

“Christmas Eve is the day before Christmas,” Rowan informs you. “Remember, we did Christmas Eve caroling?”

“Huh. I always thought it was like, all the days around Christmas,” you reply. Although this makes a lot of Christmas music make more sense, now that you’re thinking about it.

Rowan cracks a smile, and looks over to her dad, who has paused momentarily in his journeying.

“Waldric is holding a conclave meeting,” says Isaac, as he zips up his coat. He’s been working more than you thought he’d be with Waldric and Deletrius. Maybe it’s more with Deletrius. You haven’t really been following all the political stuff. “We have a few things we’re working through right now, from his side of things. Other than that, he’s finally managed to get a lead on the two missing hellborn.”
>>
>>34053320

Oh yeah. Apparently, there’s a whole bunch of resource Meckor had at his command through his lieutenants that went missing after he died. Waldric’s been trying to pick up the pieces ever since – not everybody’s been happy to answer to a new boss. Anyway, a couple of the more valuable people that disappeared were a couple Stygian hellborn guys. Isaac thought they’d skipped town, but by the sound of things Waldric found out that might not be the case.

>Oh. Good luck with that business, man.

Grab Reeber as well. He'd probably like to go for a walk, and it's always nice to have a bit of extra muscle.

We sorta spent the time doing landmastery(and not accomplishing much with it) and learning how to magic up a ball of light instead of doing conclave stuff.

I just realized how stupid it is for the person who can see in the dark better than in light to learn fucking light ball as their first spell.

Yes, that's why it would be a good idea to let a hellion look at the thing.
>I apologize if you expecting it to be sentient.
I said nothing of the sort or anything that would indicate that to be my expectation.
>>
>>34053430

I didn't mean to post that just now.

>>34053394

It's a magical lightning sword. I apologize if you expecting it to be sentient.

It's not so much that you can make a ball of light, it's that you can now learn spells.

That's right, captcha. That's absolutely right.

No srsly, other hellborn. Also this guitar is lame right now.

Have we at some point in the last couple months figured out that we can walk through walls?
>>
>>34053430
>>34053459

In that case, we're at home on christmas surrounded by people who love us. I'd consider it out of character to want to go out in the snow looking for tweedle dee and tweedle dum on behalf of an organization we don't care much about when we could be hanging out and eating flaming puddings. On the other hand I think we as players are antsy for some action so we're going to jump for the plot hook when we see it.

Remember when Sierra heard the sirens and her first thought was that it might have been another hellborn having a freakout and she wanted to help them?

Something similar here, I think.
>>
>>34053340
>Oh. Good luck with that business, man.
>By the way, have you seen Sattler recently?
I don't want to go out there. The option to ask about Satt just screams "SHE'S GOING TO BE OUT THERE AND SHE'S GONNA CATCH YOU BEING DEMONY". Being stuck using Zelathis and fire against two stygians would suck.

Why are you assuming that a) they're going to be hostile b) we're going to fight them unless we absolutely have to. It's unlikely every hellborn we meet is going to be some cream-faced loon.
>>
>>34053586
That's fair, but these are suspected Meckor supporters.

>That sweet, sweet magical creature blood. Will later power ups result in Sierra having to eat flesh too? We're already a vampire with a named sword who can covertly enter a maiden's boudoir and make off with her clutched in our shadow tentacles. Dunno if suggesting making it more grisly is edgelord territory though.

>Can't remember who that is.
The infernus hellborn dude from the first thread who attacked our house and triggered the first bloodrage of the quest. We eventually managed to kill him despite his bullshit regen (+3hp per round) and unlocked blood taste by drinking some of his blood.
>>
>>34054070
Ohh, right. Right, yeah, Isaac arrowed him and we ran to the cops.

Man, feels like a lifetime ago.
>>
>>34054119

Technically the cops ran into us. With their car. We just didn't run away.
>>

Now, while you don’t really care too much about the idea of spending a lot of time out on the go during Christmas break, this is hellborn he’s talking about. People like you.

The only hellborn person you’ve met tried to kill you, and you wound up killing them because of it. You don’t feel bad about what happened to Trevon – he was a monster. But maybe some of what he was all about was because he didn’t have people looking out for him. Like. What if his demon dad or mom or whoever just skipped town on whoever it was that was with them? Or what if it was just a one night thing, and they were never there at all?

Or what if he really was just a colossal jerk, because he was part demon? And does that mean you have a tendency towards being a complete jerk as well? You really can’t answer any of these questions without ever finding out about fellow hellborn. Even if you don’t plan on doing anything about these guys, you are curious.

You set your guitar to the side. “Wait wait wait,” you say, hastily getting to your feet. “I’m uh. Let me throw some stuff on, I’m coming with you.”

Isaac looks at you, your wild hair, and your pajama pants. “Will you be ready to go in five minutes?” he asks.

You know he’d wait for you anyway, but that’s not the point. “No promises,” you say flatly, walking past him, out the room, and heading upstairs. Five minutes (or so) later, you rush back down, clothed up, hair kind of managed, and Zelathis the lightning rapier at your hip.
>>
>>34054213

You’ve had too many close brushes with crap to ever go anywhere remotely serious without taking your sword with you.

You catch up to Isaac as he heads out the door, and you both go out to the jeep and drive off. One thing that’s cool about living in San Fransisco is that it never really gets below forty five degrees, ever. The streets are mostly empty because of vacation, and yet you can still drive around with the top down on the jeep, so long as you’re appropriately dressed. It’s like you and Isaac own the town.

“So these guys,” you say, dredging up what you remember from the recesses of thought, “they’re brothers or something, right?”

Isaac nods, his aviators firmly in place. Man, he’s a lot cooler now that you know he’s basically Captain America but with a crossbow instead of a shield. “They helped Meckor hide his assets from detection,” he says. “The kinds of illusions they put up might not stand up under close scrutiny, or last very long, but the city’s a big place.”

“Stygian illusions. Are those like, glamors?” you ask.

Isaac glances over at you. “No. A glamor is something that reflects truth in a different way. It’s an all encompassing magical change – it’s how you can wear a baseball cap even though you have horns. You choose to reflect the human side of yourself, and that’s what interacts with your surroundings. And the glamor’s always there. It just takes a little effort on your end to bring it back up.”
>>
>>34054237

“So if a glamor is like a half truth, and illusion is like… not that? They’re just whatever then?”

“Right,” Isaac says. “An illusion could make you look like a police officer or a park bench. Or nothing at all, even. But it wouldn’t be real. If someone tried to sit on the park bench, even if it looked and felt like it was there, they’d fall right through it, and the illusion would break for them. Or even break altogether,” he explains.

“Kind of why you called them deceit demons,” you say, now getting a better picture of it.

“In short,” Isaac agrees.

You consider that, for a little bit as you drive over to… Jack in the Box?

Isaac pulls in the parking lot and turns off the engine, then climbs out.

>You hungry or something?
>So… we’re not meeting at the Magister’s house.
>Okay, whose idea was this?

Huh. The new Bloodrage ability actually combos really well with all our [BE] powers since all of them cause stress gain as a side effect.

>>
>>34054865
It's nice that close combat lets us bleed off stress now as well, which gives us an actually viable way of managing things mid-fight. [BE] buffs/debuffs build our stress, which we then burn off in close combat while also replenishing our PP. This means we finally have a good loop to operate with rather than a fuse we have to monitor, while we can also divert PP into additional powerful magic attacks.

I'm hoping we get an update on what's been discussed with Rowan re: letting Vik and Baron in on things a little.
>>

Yeah, drawing those horns is a goddamn bitch. The description and the idea is cool but it's a massive pain to draw them. Luckily, it's super ez to redraw.
>>
>>34057309
The eyes are the biggest factor if you ask me. Large, black eyes like that can only be bug. Combine that with chitinous horns and arms, and she is surprisingly buggy. It's not even drawfag's fault. Her definition is kinda buggy.

Buggirls are great so I ain't complainin'
>>
>>34057039
The way I see it, if Vikrama isn't at least a little bit suspicious about what is going on, then she really should be.

I mean, come on, she runs the school paper. That pretty much means that her hobby is being a nosy busy body. If she's not at least a little bit curious about why her car was destroyed after Sierra and Rowan borrowed it shortly before a 'Terrorist Attack,' and was promptly given a car worth twice the value her old one, then Journalism is probably not her true calling.
