The rest of the meal is indeed rather pleasant; the food is delicious, and the Queen is good company when politics are not the subject. Once you both are finished eating, Alara informs you that she will be retiring for the evening, and suggests you do the same to rest up for tomorrow.

Immediately, you see a light, and the next thing you know, you're standing in front of the stone in the middle of the day. There is no sound, and nobody to be seen except for an old, bald man with an arrow tattoo on his head sitting on the stone, his eyes open and focused on you.

One of them depicts a man you now recognize as Avatar Gonyo sitting on the stone behind the palace, a much younger looking Lathic sitting beside him, the two of them lost in deep meditation.

The other one is of a man and a woman, who look vaguely similar to Ren and Alara. In front of them stand two smiling children.

Deciding to heed everyone's advice, you finally climb into your bed and get some sleep. No crazy dreams occur, and none of your past selves drop by for a visit. It is a peaceful, and restful sleep; one that leaves you feeling refreshed when you awake the next morning.

A servant stops by and informs you that the announcement will take place shortly before leaving you in peace.

Not wasting any time, you exit your room, make your way down the stairs, exit the palace, approach the gates, pass through them, and join the Queen outside. With her is Kana, Narlonok, and Lathic.

Alara smiles when she sees you, and Lathic bows in your direction. Kana inclines her head respectfully, while Narlonok barely acknowledges your presence.

A large crowd has gathered before your small group, all of them looking at least slightly curious about what the Queen has to announce. You hear some discussion among them; some of it is disapproving, but none of it sounds violent. Scanning the crowd, you find no signs of Nur, Ren, Galda, or Felna.

Alara steps forward, and the crowd quickly grows silent.

"I am here today to correct a mistake I have made," she begins. "As you all know, I created several laws that favored benders over nonbenders. While I did so with the best intentions, I realize now that it was not the right thing to do. And so, here to day, I officially announce that these laws have been abolished! And I know that I have much to make up for from all of the years those laws were in effect, and I am going to begin doing so by introducing universal tax breaks for all citizens of the Northern Kingdom."

Several people in the crowd cheer, while others discuss what has just been said amongst themselves. They soon fall silent, however, as a familiar masked figure makes his way through them, standing between the crowd and Alara.

"So, here you are, repealing your laws and believing that such a small action will solve all of the problems you have caused," he says to Alara before turning to the crowd. "Brothers and sisters, do not be deceived. This tyrant Queen is only doing this out of fear. Last evening, an attack was launched on her palace. Four of her guards were slain, and those responsible escaped, despite her best efforts. It should be obvious why she is now giving in to the people's will; beca-

Several people break from the crowd and charge towards Queen Alara. Kana and Narlonok step in front of her, pulling water from flasks at their sides, spreading it into droplets, and freezing those droplets into shards of ice before hurling them at the attackers, cutting many of them down.

Nur steps right past you and begins making his way towards Alara, drawing two swords which he uses to deflect the shards sent his way. You see someone else break from the crowd and rush towards you, drawing a pair of daggers.

Nur raises his blades and uses them to stop some of the flames, but is still knocked onto his side.

He quickly rises and watched both you and Alara warily.
