Hello and welcome to the sixth thread of Digimon Quest. The rules are simple. You reply with the letter of the choice you wish to support. There are ten minutes between the latest post and when voting ends. If a vote that needs a roll wins, the rolling will happen AFTER it wins with a best 2 out of 3. If multiple options tie at the end of the ten minutes of voting they will either be combined or a tiebreaker will be held to decide. That's about it.

Keramon takes the initiative, motioning for you to follow as he makes his way down the beach and toward the voices. You take offense, having started to see yourself as the defacto leader of the group, but then you remember your apparently grave offense back in the egg village and let Keramon have this one. The waves are high and lap at your ankles as your party makes its way down the beach, the laughter growing louder.
As you crest a hill you see a pretty odd sight, what looks like a girl painted blue playing with a weird seal creature. Before you can pull out your Digivice you see Jordan is already on it. "It says here it's a Ranamon and Gomamon." He says, tapping the side of his glasses. "I think I'll handle the identification from now on man."
"Oh wonderful! Another Digimon of lineage!" Keramon says, almost bursting with joy as he approaches the pair. "Hello and good afternoon you two. My name is Keramon and these are my human and his friends. We were just passing by when we heard your laughter and felt we had to come say hello!"
The pair pauses, looking shocked to see anyone else before both get very large smiles. Its at this moment you notice both wearing little gold trident pins. Ranamon puts her arms behind her back, large smile still plastered on her face as she walks up to Keramon. "Well tell me Keramon, have you heard of the guardian goddess AncientMermaimon?"

A. Allow Keramon to field the two strange Digimon, go and explore the beach further.

You pull out your Digivice and go to the scanner, trying to see if there's some sort of search function. As you do you're vaguely aware of Keramon's usual ranting as he speaks. Finally you find it, a little search box into which you type your best approximation of AncientMermaimon. It takes a bit, but you get results. An image of a blue mermaid like Digimon appears with the usual information; it was a mega level and it was a Data attribute. A bit of extra information is there, saying it once ruled the oceans and that it is thought the Ranamon line is descended from it. Certainly explains Keramon going on about lineage.
You hand your Digivice to Jordan so he can take a look as you decide to tune back into what Keramon was saying. "Well naturally taking out that MadLeomon was no problem, but some human walks up and takes the resulting Elekmon away. According to the Jordan human he's responsible for all these humans showing up."
"Well that explains that. You know, we've got a human staying with us at the cabana right now actually. No partner though." The Gomamon says with the closest it can give of a shrug. "We were wondering where it came from."


A. Ask them what they know about the human.
B. Leave the conversation and head back to where the cabana was yourself.
C. Interrupt and ask them if they'd heard anything about the disappearances.
D. Ask why they're wearing those pins.
E. Stay quiet and keep listening.

Now that was some interesting information. You step out in front of Keramon before clearing your throat. "You have a human staying with you? Could you tell me about him?" As you ask Jordan perks up, having been mostly tuning them all out until you moved. "We would just like to know if it's one of our classmates or perhaps one of the ones who brought us here."
Ranamon nods, putting a finger to her chin as she thinks. "Well, I believe they're a male. About your height and with brown hair. He wears a black jacket over a white shirt and those blue pants you're both wearing." You look over to Jordan, who just shrugs. Seems it isn't someone either of you know. Well, unless there are two groups of assholes in the Digital World, they were probably safe.
"By the way, what's with those pins you're both wearing?" As you ask Keramon sighs and puts a hand on your shoulder. "You did not listen to a word they said did you? They're part of some ... group that believes if enough aquatic Digimon band together one of them will be able to Digivolve into a new AncientMermaimon and oh what was it now?" He asks, scratching his head until Gomamon speaks up.
"To bring order back to the Digital Sea. There have been a number of great terrible things awakening in the ocean lately. Just a few miles off the coast there are a large number of MarineDevimon. We're out here to spread the word of AncientMermaimon and warn others to the dangers of the Digital Sea."


A. Ask them if you can go with them to the cabana to meet this human.
B. Leave the conversation and go to the cabana on your own.
C. Ask them how exactly they plan to accomplish this whole AncientMermaimon plan.
D. Go explore the beach further.

"Riiight that's ... nice. Could you take us to your place? We'd really like to meet this guy if you don't mind." The two seem to deflate at your comment, apparently they were looking forward to sharing this idea of theirs. Oh well. "Yeah sure, follow us." Gomamon says as he starts waddling back down the beach. Betamon joins him, asking more questions about the whole AncientMermaimon thing as they go.
As you walk back you feel Keramon tap your arm. "Human, I need to talk to you about something." The two of you slowdown, making some space between you and the others. "It's been bugging me since we were in the Egg Village you see. Now, most Digimon absorb the data of those they defeat to get stronger and sometimes gain abilities from them. My line however eats data as a part of survival. I felt oddly weak after we defeated Petermon so seeing here there in the village is troubling. I'm supposed to have her data so how was she there?" As he speaks, Keramon's tone grows more frantic. Clearly he's worried there's something wrong with him as he begins to shake.

A. Tell him about the release function and apologize, you didn't realize it did that.

C. Don't tell him about the release function and assure him that if there's something wrong it'll get fixed.

You're shocked seeing your usually pompous partner like this. You're hit with sudden guilt as you put a hand on Keramon's shoulder. "Keramon, I need to show you something." You pull out your Digivice and get him to the screen that had previously shown the Petermon icon. "When you beat Petermon, it showed up here and there was a button that said 'release'. I just ... I pushed it without really thinking. I think that's why Petermon's around again." Keramon stares at you in shock, taking a step back. "I'm sorry buddy, I didn't know. I won't do it again."
He just stares at you for a moment before grabbing you by the front of your shirt. "You are my partner and you took my food right out of my mouth. I have no idea why that infernal device gave you such power over me, but I will tell you this. I do not like it." He lets go and walks back to the others without another word. You stand there for a moment before pocketing your Digivice and walking back to them. It looks like Keramon will need some time.
The others either didn't notice the two of you leave or they choose not to comment on it. Soon enough you reach the cabana on the beach's edge. Well, it looks more like a house styled after a cabana. "It's nice." You say out loud before Ranamon turns to you and smiles. "Thanks. It's not much, but it's where the others have us staying for our assignment. Let’s go inside."

You all go in through the door as someone walks down the stairs across from the door. You recognise this guy now. His name was Joe and most people at the school found him kind of strange. The black jacket Ranamon described was a leather jacket and it matched the fingerless gloves he was wearing. For a reason no one had ever asked, Joe sort of modeled himself as some motorcycle riding tough guy. "Well, shit, other humans. Thought I'd never see anyone on two legs again sides Ranamon."

A. Ask him how he got here, you thought everyone had been captured.
B. Let Jordan take the lead on this one.
C. Introduce your little group and tell him how you'd gotten here.

You suppose it could be worse, there were odder students at your school and you'd have hated to run into your Spanish professor out here. Dude was a prick. "You're Joe right? Listen, I was wondering if you could tell me how you got away. As far as Jordan and I know we're the only ones that got away." Gomamon suggests the others leave you to talk; soon it's just you, Jordan, and Joe in the foyer.
Joe sits on the stairs and stretches out. "Well that's easy. Let me ask ya somethin'. Did ya look out one of the windows before ya got caught?" You nod and tell him about the void you saw outside. "Now see, that was a late addition. A lot of the teachers and such got out before the school got pulled into all that. Man, I can't imagine the looks on their faces once we got in there. I was with in the gym with about a dozen or so others, fastest way outta the school if you were in the middle ya know. Course it was right by the computer lab too. I hear that's where they got in from. If I had to guess, only a couple of classes worth of students probably got caught."
Jordan has the decency to look embarrassed when Joe mentions the computer lab. "That still doesn't explain how you got away. I mean, I was in a cage and my buddy over here only got away because his Keramon decided he wanted a partner."
Joe lets out a low whistle. "Wow, a Keramon? Now I don't got a partner, but I've been hearing plenty about these Digimon and let me tell you that having him is damned impressive. Naw, I just got lucky. We were bein' held in the mountains when I made a break for it. I'm just lucky that they either didn't notice or I got a guard that couldn't run. Found my way here after goin' through the desert."


A. Ask him who was keeping him and if he has any idea where they were headed.

C. Tell him about Jacob and the others who're behind this.
D. Suggest he head to the Egg Village since it seems pretty safe.

"You know, there are safer places than a beach with Digimon missionaries and a pod of water devils nearby, right?" You ask, honestly impressed that Joe had survived this long. "I mean, it's cool you've lasted like 2 days here, bit Digimon are dangerous." You're about to say more, but you're interrupted by Jordan.
"2 days? Dude, Petermon had me for like 3 days before you showed up. Have you only been here 2 days?" This time it's Joe's turn to interrupt. Or it would be but he sort of raises his hand and waits for both you and Jordan to notice before speaking with a bit of a scared expression. "I've been here two weeks now. Leavin' there, where would ya want me goin'? I mean, I've been ok this long." The fear in his voice is replaced with bravado when he asks.
"Well, there's the egg village. It's sort of a place where people without somewhere to be go to. Also plenty of locals if you wanted a partner I guess." That seems to get to Joe. After your suggestion he gets to his feet and walks down the steps before jabbing you in the chest with his finger. "Now listen here. I might not have some fancy doom Digimon for a partner, but I can take care a myself. I ain't no coward. I made it down the mountains, through the desert, and to here just fine. I mean sure, I tried to drink the salt water after I finally made it out of the desert, but I'm fine."


A. Tell him it was just a suggestion, you weren't accusing him of being a coward or anything.
B. Tell him to back off and that it's dangerous out there.
C. Suggest you both calm down and maybe talk out this whole time dilation business.

You hold your hands up and take a step back. "Dude, I'm not assuming you of anything. Just a suggestion. Calm down, seriously." Joe looks like he's ready to blow up at you again before deflating. You look beside you to see that Jordan was ready to get involved.
Joe sighs and sits back down. "Right. Sorry about that. I've just been a bit on edge lately. Accordin' to Gomamon those MarineDevimon are gettin' closer so we might have to head out soon and ... yeah I'm a little nervous about goin' out there." You just nod. You doubt he's lying, but the dude is still weird and this just helps solidify that idea.
"If you don't go blowing up like that again you could come with us dude." Jordan offers giving a shrug. "We are going to be trying to find the other students though. We know who is behind it at least. You know Jacob? Kinda weedy, about this tall?" Jordan goes through the usual descriptive motions, making you wish you'd gotten a picture of him at least.
Joe goes quiet for a few moments. "Yeah I think so. Weren't he and his four friends like the only ones in the computer club?" Joe asks, nodding a bit to himself. Getting more and surer with each second. "Yeah, yeah I remember him. I had him in homeroom. Thought it was pretty weird that he wasn't there that day too. Shit, they're behind this?"

"One last thing Joe. You said before how Keramon was 'impressive' and shit like that. What do you mean by that?" Joe looks at you surprised and asks if you really don't know. when you shake your head he opens his mouth like he's going to speak, but stops himself. This cycle repeats a few times.
"Friend I'm not sure how best to say this. Ya know how the Digimon all seem to be based off a stuff? Like bees or fish or people? Well there're ones that're more ... metaphorical. Like I heard there's ones based on angels runnin' around. Buddy, you've got the apocalypse under your care."
"Joe what the hell are you talking about?" You ask, more than a little put off by what he said. "I mean, sure Keramon's a dick and he apparently eats data, but he's a virus type Digimon. That seems pretty normal, right?" You look over to Jordan. "Back me up here dude." You notice that he's only half paying attention, busy going through his Digivice before speaking up.
"Holy shit bro, he's not kidding. The info on Keramon in mine says that he can grow up into something called Armageddemon and that's if he doesn't become something called Diaboromon." Jordan takes off his Digivice, glancing through the doorway that the Digimon had gone out through. "He isn't a virus type either. They're literally a bunch of viruses that came together to become a Digimon."


A. Ask to see Jordan's Digivice yourself, you don't believe this.
B. Say you don't really care. You got helped out by a giant man eating spider Digimon after all.
C. Admit that this news makes you more than a bit nervous.
D. Talk about this later, its getting late so you should probably find out if you can stay the night here.

Both Jordan and Joe are staring at you now since now you're the guy with the possibly world ending Digimon. In the end you just shrug. "Jordan, we got help from the queen of the spider Digimon who could spit acid and probably only had a human form so she could lure in humans more easily. I get that the Digimon have some old feuds and shit, but this is Keramon. You know the pompous ass that still refuses to call me my name and just refers to me as 'his human'." You pause for a moment, remembering the fact that Keramon literally needs to eat data to live and how mad he was at you earlier. "I will admit though, this does make me a bit nervous. He's our friend though Jordan and I'm not about to let my friend end up like that."

Your dumb speech of friendship certainly seems to have won Joe over. He's just nodding, almost looking like he's going to cry. "Now I know you two are good people. Winning over Digimon like that, gettin' help even from someone like the queen of the spider Digimon." He gets to his feet and suddenly pulls you both into a big hug. "Now this is the kind of thing I've been hopin' ta find since I got here! Couple a real people." He lets you both go before walking out of the foyer and into the next room. "Hey Ranamon, these guys can stay the night, right?" She answers in the affirmative.

Just in time too as the windows to the building suddenly darken. You hate how night just sort of happens here. Joe, Betamon, and Keramon all walk back into the foyer with Betamon calling out a cheerful 'goodnight' to Gomamon and Ranamon. "Hey buddy, I see you're getting along with those two huh?" Jordan asks, picking Betamon up as he starts to climb the stairs. "Yeah! I haven't met a lot of other w-water Digimon before. It's neat hearing their stories about AncientMermaimon." The five of you make your way upstairs, Joe pointing you all to individual rooms. Between the two long treks through the desert, it doesn't take you long to fall asleep. Sadly, it doesn't take you long to wake up either as you hear voices outside your door. You're beginning to doubt you'll get many restful nights in the Digital World.

Quietly you slide out of bed, praying the wooden floors don't sell you out. Soon enough your ear is against the door. You can't quite make out whose voices they are, but you can tell that there are at least two talking. "Ah, it's finally the night. I hate playing this missionary schtick."
"Oh be quiet. Now we've got five people rather than just the one human. Oh I was getting tired of his accent."
"Well, lets get to work. I'm sure at least the Keramon will be a wonderful offering to Dragomon."

You take a step back when you realize the voices were getting very close to your door. You really wish you could just get a full night's sleep here.
