@QMKingofHearts.

The date is October 22nd, UC 0083. It is now late in the evening in East Africa: the temperature is finally dropping for the day, but things are still heating up.

Where do you even begin talking about the last few days?

You suppose things started going south on the 17th, when Nick Orville, an Anaheim technician and Zeon mole, sabotaged the Core Fighter you were taking out on a routine patrol in an attempt to kill you. You still managed to destroy a Zeon submarine and recover the fighter with only light damage, and later had your team raid his quarters for evidence of his treachery. Which they found, of course. You then proceeded to put his traitorous ass in the sick bay after a savage and one-sided beating.

From Orville's personal records you learned two things: that the GP-02 was headed for the Kinbareid Mine, a well-defended stronghold of Principality remnants, and that he may or may not have leaked the planned “Slattern” upgrades for your machines to the enemy. The latter you have to admit would be a disaster, seeing as the upgrades were designed to turn your own trio of suits into machines which excel in all areas of combat to the point that two Newtypes would be required to control each. Looking over the specs, you weren't entirely sure how you'd fight something like that, aside from blindly nuking its general vicinity or fielding an identical unit against it.
(1/?)
>>
>>33988568
Pursuing the GP-02 had to take priority, though, and you eventually found your teams assaulting the southern defensive lines of Kinbareid Mine. Your team and the Burning Team agreed to try and push through a gap in the mountains protecting the southern approach, willing to risk springing a trap in the hope of punching through with your overwhelming speed and firepower. The trap, however, turned out to be eight buried nuclear satchel charges with a yield of one kiloton each. The first of these claimed the life of Lt.JG Alpha A. Bate, the Burning Team's point man at the time. The rest you countered while under aerial harassment through a combination of your own twin hyper rifles and Haman's psycho-mines, allowing you to progress under the cover provided by the irradiated dust of the blasts.

You then found yourself facing down a tide of Doms, which outnumbered your own forces more than two to one. But with the firepower of your Lilium-series Gundams and fire support from the remainder of the Burning Team, along with a stellar performance from your freshly-blooded cyber Newtype teammate Rossweisse, you cut all of the attackers down with only moderate damage to South and Ensign Uraki's suits in return. Unfortunately the Zeon defenses managed to stall your team, and more importantly the Albion's big guns, long enough for the Heavy Lift Vehicle assume to be carrying the GP-02 to launch.

The Albion fired its guns, and Haman pushed her remaining psycho-mines well past the redline... but the Albion's fire controller missed his chance before the titanic rocket boosters carried the HLV out of range, and despite her best efforts the motors on Haman's mines just couldn't catch her target.

Currently South and Audrey are managing the surrendering Zeon forces as well as restraining Monsha, who seems ready to kill a few of them for the loss of Bate.
(2/?)
>>
>>33988588
Uraki seems to be dealing with Ensign Keith, who spent a good deal of the battle in a daze, and the Marseille sisters seem worried about Rossweisse's present condition. You can sense a fair deal of pain, panic, and confusion mounting in the young cyber Newtype's mind. The rest of your team aboard the Albion is arguing with some prick over the comm, trying to follow your request to get the La Vie en Rose involved in tracking and downing the escaping HLV.

“What I'm SAYING,” you hear Karen shouting over an open frequency, “is that I'm ordering you to ignore the comm restrictions!”

“I'm sorry Captain,” the paper-pusher on the other end replies in a tone that comes dangerously close to patronizing, “I can't authorize that. My hands are tied.”

“You CAN'T, or you WON'T?”

“Captain,” you hear Reiko interrupt. After several seconds of discussion that you strain to hear, Karen's voice returns.

“In accordance with EFF Directive thirty-one-fifty section three 'b', subheading ten stroke two-oh-six,” she recites, clearly from a piece of paper, “and pursuant to standing orders by Admiral Kowen, I am assuming all tactical command authority over response to the ongoing pinnacle nucflash and bent spear events reported in the vicinity of Kinbareid Mine, northern Tanzania. I am devolving information control duties to Staff Sergeant Reiko Hollinger, currently stationed aboard the Albion.”
(3/?)
>>
>>33988613
“And I'M ordering you, CORPORAL,” Reiko snarls, “to disregard standard information blackout procedures and patch through all current satellite telemetry on the location and course of the unidentified HLV that just broke atmosphere here to the civilian ship La Vie en Rose. Acknowledge.”

It wasn't a question. There are a few seconds where you can hear the Corporal stationed at the EFF's satellite control and reporting station in Cairo flipping through his own manuals, before he finally relents. “Orders acknowledged, ma'am. Sending the data via laser comm... cannot guarantee transmission security.”

“That's fine, Corporal,” Karen replies. “Just do it quickly.”

What do you wish to deal with while we shift perspective?

This is her first actual battle, I believe, so I would expect her to be a bit worked up. Especially seeing how someone got nuked. Speaking of which, we caught that on our flight recorders, right? Because it would be nice if we could throw it in Delaz's face that he violated the Antarctic Treaty first. A broadcast of our own, or something like that.

Make a mental note to have the paper pushers' balls in a vice when we return to orbit. Get SOMEONE with the clout to handle the surrendering base personal from the Federation out here. We're a single ship and we've got a HLV to catch and catch soon. Can't dally about on this mudball any longer. Burning can handle Monsha.
>>
>>33988660
I said this last thread, but that's my justification for why Dom feels the need to troll Char. Because before he was the Devil Jester his callsign was Red Wolf, and he feels that Char is besmirching the color. Char's suits aren't even red, that's clearly salmon pink he's painted them with. What the hell, Aznable?

I think we should lay off him. His best friend just got nuked. Let's give the guy a break. At least until Von Braun, then we can resume crushing his spirit.
>>
>>33988767
A little bit of backstory, not at all related to the plot: your machines weren't red either.

The Red Wolf nickname comes from two things: Dom's hair, which is quite red and was rather mane-ish during his time in the OYW, and a run-in with an actual red machine. A collision with debris from his twenty-sixth kill left a contact transfer of red around his tan machine's 'face', which some of the recruits said reminded them of a wolf that had just eaten.

>Dominic has chosen to prioritize Rossweisse's first cyber-Newtype breakdown

Today is October 22nd, UC 0083, and you're listening to some Iron Maiden. Also, you're still Defrah Kar, why would that even be a question? Anyway it's a Tuesday, which means tacos in the galley later tonight. They're hardly proper tacos, but... hey, is your phone beeping at you?

Oh fuck a duck, it's Lucette, and she's apparently called you three times. That probably means it's important. Checking your messages, you can see a text asking you to come down to the hangar deck.

Maybe you should do something about that. Or, you could just sit here in the lounge and drink your coffee, and keep listening to a long-dead singer about his fear of the dark.

>>

Those would be bits.

You could also add psycho-mine launchers to the bit suits if you were feeling really filthy.
>>
>>33989317
True, but they don't make a very good replacement for artillery.
>>
>>33989277

That's fine, it's the funnel "missile" aspect that bugs me.

>Okay so we have this insanely expensive Newtype technology, it costs us a tiny fortune to install just the control frame into a Mobile Suit and that's not taking into account the funnels themselves. What do we do for our new weapon?
>GUYS HEAR ME OUT. WE PUT THE EXPENSIVE NEWTYPE TECHNOLOGY-- WAIT GUYS WAIT
>WE PUT IT ON THE MISSILES THAT BLOW UP AFTER YOU USE THEM, MAKING THEM THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND IMPRACTICAL WEAPON YET

I don't know why I draw the line there, but that's the sole weapon that completely draws me back out of enjoying it and makes me go "but that's not how it works, especially not if you claim there's no Newtype specialty weapons around anymore in late UC because it's too expensive."
>>
>>33989304
Well, yeah. The main disadvantages funnels have is they're huge and are nullified by an i-field. Bits are smaller, but have limited operational time, and are once again nullified by i-fields. A Howitzer is a scaled up Orion Drive which fries your opponent with x-rays. Not a whole hell of a lot that'll survive that. I-field be damned.
>>
>>33989368
The only way I could see them sorta work and have them be cost-effective would be as psychically guided nukes for precision strikes.
>>
>>33989368
Dunno, I can think of worse money wasting ideas.
>pic related

But yeah Psycho-tech is actually a terrible idea to mass produce in general. Even funnels and bits are technically a bad idea, because out of your 2 million soldiers, only 3 people would be able to use it.
>>
>>33989368
The receivers aren't that expensive, that's why the Sazabi's funnels are disposable. It's just the transmitter that's expensive. And it's not the Newtype weapons that were too expensive, it was Newtypes themselves. Cyber-Newtypes had become political suicide to experiment with, and naturally-occurring ones were too rare. It was considered impractical to design combat doctrines around the few psychic soldiers they had available.
>>
>>33989418
Aren't laser-guidance systems still effective within 5 kilometers?
What about a psycommu-laser designator with like 30 laser-guided missiles?
You chuck 6 of these, target up to 18 targets, and then recover the designator-launcher units after the battle?
The missiles themselves are cheaper laser-guidance ones.
>>
>>33989418

The problem is that the guidance systems are insanely expensive in-universe, and that by the time that they debut in UC, they've already stopped producing Newtype weaponry for most part because they were running out of money.

So then they start installing the insanely expensive Psycommu parts on disposable one-off weapons by nature, as opposed to funnels, which are meant to last longer than a single encounter or even shot.

I had the same problem with Gundam 00. Even in the decent season (the first), they put a lot of emphasis on how their technology was this big deal, that even recovering the cast-away missile-carrying attachment the Kyrios used on some mission was a big deal due to the materials used in constructing it. And then, not even five episodes later, we see the Exia with beam throwing daggers, literally throwing their secrets at the opposition.

It's just something that, even in a show like Gundam, just tears me right out of my immersion and brings my enjoyment of what's going on to a screeching halt.
>>
>>33989057
Yeah, you figure it would be good to at least reply to Lucette and figure out what she wants. She's one of the nicer techies here, and she's been fairly tolerant of your 'eccentricities'.

Basically she's nice and lets you get away with shit, but still, she's good people.

"Sup?" you greet Lucette over the phone.

The response is barely loud enough to hear over the GLORIOUS METAL, but rather than turn it down you keep up the act.

"I can't hear you!" you shout. "Metal!"

After a few minutes you can tell Lucette is actually pretty pissed, so you turn the music down.

"Dominic's team is having some data sent to us on a lift vehicle he wants blasted," Lucette shouts at you, still under the impression you wouldn't be able to hear her otherwise.

You shrug. "Sure, I'll be down in a minute."

As you near the hangar deck, you can feel the La Vie en Rose accelerating hard all around you... that's weird. It never does that. Since when can it even DO that?

"Why are we accelerating, Lucette?" you ask your friend.

"Combine the velocities of the Dendrobium and the station, and we'll get you there faster," she explains.

That doesn't seem right... it's a lot of effort to get a lot of heat on one target like that.
>Alright, launch me.
>Why use the MA against one little lift vehicle? That seems like a gross mis-allocation of resources.
>Ask another question?
>>
>>33989500
I like this idea. Call them "spotter bits" or something like that. And short-ranged guided missiles are going to be available soon (that Full Armor ZZ), so it could have some nice synergy.
>>
>>33989457

At least the second season did away with any pretext of giving a shit at that point. Just not in a good way, the second season was shit. Only enjoyable part, to me, was Ribbons being Ribbons and the return of the Drei.

I'm still mad at it jobbing right after returning in the way it did, goddamnit 00 you had such potential and you throw it all away to become spaceBleach

>>33989559
The nice thing is that if it's designed as something that sneaks out, paints a target, Itano Circuses it to death, and runs away, then it can also be used as actual spotter and recon bits, to expand your sensor range beyond normal Minovsky Particle limitations.

I feel the same way, the first season was probably the best AU we've gotten, and with just a few changes would have been a perfect story on it's own. Then we had that thing, which was only interesting because Reborns Gundam was sexy. Then it got even worse with the film, although that did have the Sol Braves, and the 40 seconds spoof movie was great.
>>
>>33989611
And we could even combine it with the helicopter bits that things like the Shamblo or the Psyco Mark II use so we could have them work in atmosphere. Those can't seem to life very heavy loads, but it would be enough for the sensor package and at least a couple of missiles.

Would be cool if it was possible to switch weapons aboard the thing.
Need artillery? Mount some rocket launchers on it. Need suppressing fire? Throw some giant machine guns on it.
>>
>>33989368
Here's the justification, from the EFF and AE perspective.

BVR engagement capability is still extremely rare: in effect, Newtypes are the only ones that can do it with any reliability. The 'psycho mines" aren't actually expensive at all, let alone compared to the fact that they basically give any ship that has them a massive tactical advantage. So field-testing them is perfectly reasonable.

Well, 00 was basically Wing with a better animation budget anyway. And you forgot about the Exia Repair. Terminexia, not that Exia with green crystal shit plastered all over it.

I'd also say that the movie tried to bring Graham back to what people liked so much about him in season 1, except they completely fucked it up and still made him act like Mr. Bushido save that he wasn't weeaboo this time, just a shitty shounen-series rival instead of GUNDAM IS OLEV.

Also;
>00 being best AU
>Not Build Fighters
>Not G

Come on, senpai, step it up
>>
>>33989689
So wait, the psy-mines are actual mines with a psycommu-system that gets blown up with them?
I always thought they were regular mines that are just dropped on a target by a psycommu-guided machine or something.
>>
>>33989680

That's just the thing. They didn't. They just sat there in the cockpit with the beam blade still activated like a dumbass, so you can't even say it shorted itself out after the enemy keeled over or anything.

They were literally throwing the secrets of beam technology, and in that universe by extent, the secrets of weaponizing GN particles. 00 pretends it's all politics and secret operations and all that, but the moment you actually start looking at the setting, it falls apart like a house of cards made out of gingerbread in fat camp.
>>
>>33989762
Yeah, they're psycommu guided missiles. They're called mines (I presume) because no Newtype-use weapon can ever have a straightforward name.
>>
>>33989762
They're essentially shortened missiles with verniers, a funnel control receiver, and an e-cap for a warhead.
>>
>>33989798
Weird. I thought that, considering the price of the entire psycommu thing, it'd be far cheaper to have a guided deployment system that just drops a huge bomb where you need it. The machine that dropped the bomb returns back to the ship, picks up another bomb, repeats the process.

Of course, you can still use them as guided weapons, but this way you don't destroy expensive equipment in the process.

Now now, let's not get into AU wars, Gendum is pretty much Pick Your Poison anyway, boils down to what you want in a series.
>>
>>33989722
Well yeah but Build Fighters didn't exist back then. I've also had a difficult relationship with G, I love parts of it, but I tried re-watching it and I couldn't get back into it.

Although the similarity to Wing probably made me like it more than I should have. Wing was my first entry into Gundam, and 00 was wing with less tedium.

>>33989773
Honestly, I think you're being a bit harsh about it. In 0079 Amuro left beam rifles all over the place, but no one's bitching at him giving away the plans to Gelgoog. And on that front the techs in 00 all knew about GN particles, because Aeolia published everything 200 years ago. Not to mention even Graham was aware of beam technology when he first saw Exia's beam saber.
>>
>>33989864
We just had this conversation. The receivers aren't expensive, it's the transmitter that is. Though I agree that just hooking up the receivers to a drone plane would be an effective use of them.

The point is that they spend their time in 00 building up how incredibly fucking hardcore their secrets are, and then not even a few episodes later literally start throwing them away. That's what bothered me the most. All that emphasis on it and then completely throwing that aspect away for the sake of being cool. It makes for an incredibly schizophrenic tone in the series and it bothers me. I still like the first season, I just feel it was also very hypocritical.

"So this is Dom's mission, then?" you ask as you swing your legs into the Dendrobium's cockpit. "I'd have thought he could handle a target like this."

"Apparently it launched at range, while the Albion was under fire," Lucette explains. "It's not a surprise that it got clear of the launch site."

"Yeah, I guess," you reply. "And here I was hoping he'd take me somewhere fancy our first time out. This is more like him ordering a pizza to my flat, then telling me he's off to a fancy high-society ball without you."

"That's an oddly specific scenario," Lucette tells you. "You put much thought into this?"

"… and he's going with the class valedictorian AND the captain of the Varsity basketball team," you finish. "Defrah Kar, launching, I guess."

After you clear the La Vie en Rose, your questions continue. "So we're really committing this much heat to such a small time target?"

"Seems that way," Lucette explains to you. "Orders came down from Kowen as well: we're to hit the vehicle and destroy it, then confirm the kill."

"Understood, Lucette. ETA to the target at maximum burn is six hours. Has it deviated?"

"No," Lucette replies. "It's still tracking steady and true."

I would think that the psycommu reciver on a missile would be even cheaper than one on a funnel/bit. Funnels and bits need their psycommu to move and shoot, but since missiles don't really shoot anything, all you need the psycommu for is movement, and thus you save on cost/size by cutting out the non-essential bits.

I doubt that the Gundam designed for Nuclear Combat would get wrecked when the HLV goes boom... but it would definatly do some damage to it's more delicate parts, and I doubt that they have the equipment or parts to repair it properly, so we might end up facing a kind of Franken-GP-02....
>>
>>33990338
I'd bank on the shield being slagged first before the bazooka. Launch system will be fine, simply haft to take the shot at a greater distance to prevent vaporization.

>Stardust Memory: your machines are faster and tougher, but far from invincible. Watch out for other aces, experimental machines, groups of grunts with bazookas or beam rifles, and die rolls. Don't expect any advantages you start with to last.
>die rolls.
Hey, if dice rolls can fuck us over badly, I don't see why they can't for Gato.

Also, I really hate the 'hurr invincible plot armour' that shows up a lot in Gundam quests, it really vexed me Zeonquest with Amuro's flat-out invincibility, and that shitty antagonist Bandit always escaping due to PLOT.

Seriously, best Feddie antagonist in that quest was Revil, because he managed to adapt to our shit instead of relying on some bullshit 'invincibility field.'
>>
>>33990447
Not necessarily. The shield stores the barrel of the bazooka. So if it gets slagged before Gato can assemble the parts, the nuke can't be launched.
>>
>>33990515
He'll have a nuclear capable mortar without the barrel. Can still launch it at reduced accuracy.
>>
>>33990473
Yeah I remember that, the bullshit apologized pulled so the canon chars always were better than us. Char was the one to kill Gihren, despite the fact that he and Amuro fell to earth 2 days prior. We should have killed bandit in I think it was our second encounter when we fucked up Jaburo. And then the fact that no-matter what damage we had done to the Feddies, it didn't have any effect on them, and they were still a massive terror. Again with Jaburo, we went in there, and blew the shit out of the place. Our total damage was "lol, they decided to mass produce Pegasus carriers instead of Salamis."

Revil was quite good, but half of it was bullshit, "Lol you came up with these ideas which Zeon ignore, but make the Feddies better".
>>
>>33990556
I thought Nina said it couldn't be used that way? Well, even if it can, we should be fine. Combine lowered accuracy with increased minimum range and it's going to be a lot harder for him to nuke the Navel Review. It could buy us time to intercept him and keep him from firing.
>>
>>33990079
Six hours, you're at this.

Six. HOURS.

God DAMN you're bored. You even resorted to playing tic-tac-toe on your flight checklists against Lucette over the comm link you were so bored. The laser feed cut out a few times as she was forced to run the feed through various satellites in order to extend the effective range, which seems a lot of effort for a silly game.

Finally, you spot your quarry. Your sensors pick up its thermal signature as well. Running almost at a diagonal to your course, actually, and running fast.

"Alright, say good night, Gracie."

>92

You hit the firing stud for the Dendrobium's warship grade particle cannon, and watch as the HLV you've been sent to chase evaporates immediately from the first shot.

"Fuck yeah," you comment aloud. "You like that, Lucette? Cuz that was pretty fucking hot if I say so my... hang on..."

There are Musais over there.

"There are Musais over there," you explain to Lucette. "Over along the course the lift vehicle was following."

"A retrieval team?" Lucette wonders. "Can you confirm the target was destroyed?"

"Oh-hoooo yeah. It's gone," you confirm happily before a single particle cannon blast lances out past your machine.

"They missed, you observe. "Funny. They know I'm here, but they fired only once... a warning shot." That's the only real conclusion you can reach, as the three Musais begin to reverse course... along with a Zanzibar you didn't notice at first. Equally strange, you get the distinct impression that they could have easily intercepted the HLV before you arrived if they'd tried.

You can tell Lucette is thinking about bringing you "I think it's time for you to come back in."

Fuck. Every time.
>Reverse course. The target is gone, and this machine is too valuable to waste on a frontal assault you could as easily avoid
>Follow them as far as your fuel allows, then retreat.

>>

I'm starting to get the impression Gato got hosed by someone or something. We know in canon Gato and Uraki had WORDS. There's been no mention of said WORDS thus far. Plus we've never actually asked for security tapes from the hangar the Metal Gear was jacked from nor have we asked the crew or the pilots if they got a look at the person.
>>
>>33990902
Especially when it's a ship doing the shooting. That's been the case since day one. If you want to hit a moving target, don't use a ship.
>>
No I'm assuming the fact they don't care with the assumed knowledge that the GP02 probably already got out of the HLV before we shot it, and that's why they're leaving. I'm also assuming our shot just now hit an empty HLV.
>>
>>33990632

>Reverse course. The target is gone, and this machine is too valuable to waste on a frontal assault you could as easily avoid

Let's not let them lead our experimental Mobile Armor into a trap where they may or may not capture it. We can go after whatever they have when we've got back-up, and we accomplished the mission.
>>
>>33990632
Something nags at you for a moment. Performing a quick scan of what little remains of the target confirms there's nothing unusual about it: nothing that would suggest it was carrying unusual cargo, and no real Minovsky interference aside from what little issues the beam shots themselves have caused.

It was just an HLV, with its engines running at minimal burn.

"I'm following them," you announce.

"Defrah!? What the hell are you thinking!?" Lucette shouts.

You ignore her and push forwards, but slowly. The Musais maintain their course and speed, but the Zanzibar maneuvers to get a clear line of sight.

Suddenly, you receive a transmission from the Zanzibar. That's outright bizarre, what Zeon commander would want to contact you?

Pressing a button, you bring up the Zanzibar's message on your small screen.

"Why are you still following us?" the black-haired woman on screen asks you, clearly irritated. Oddly enough, though her uniform seems Zeonic, there are several personal touches to it. You also note that her chair seems more like a throne, with exotic hides and furs thrown over it. "You already destroyed our objective, and yet you hound our retreat as I try to avoid a meaningless battle? Do you value death that much, both your own and that of your perceived enemy?"

Wordy, isn't she? Still, following her has paid off: she seems to be headed roughly towards the Shoal Zone.

IIRC the Pegasus carriers were a fraction of the amount of Salamis and Magellan's they would've otherwise produced, it felt like there were a lot more, because Revil could use them on Earth, instead of being space only. I mean if they build 100 Salamis, chances are, we're not going to encounter anything other than a small fraction of them. On the other hand, Revil's going to send a good chunk of his 20 Pegasus carriers to Odessa, because it's the biggest assult operation the Fed's are conducting on earth.

If by "Lol you came up with these ideas which Zeon ignore, but make the Feddies better". you mean Lister's book, Zeon actually did adopt it, it's just Revil saw it's value too, and we wound up seeing WAY more feddie armor in combat on earth, than we did Zeon's.

I thought that a lot of the problems that we had against Revil were that of perspective.

"You're in a giant flying death machine," she observes, narrowing her eyes. "Why would I want to talk to you?"

"I don't know, why are you still talking with me?"

"Perhaps I'm just being self-indulgent."

You lean back into your seat, letting the Dendrobium carry you forwards. "So why didn't you try to save your guy? You have the speed to have recovered the ship and whatever was on it."

"If that man was indeed aboard it," she replies with disgust, "I would have been happy to hear it. But now I guess I'll never know."

You shake your head at her in mock confusion. "So you mean you Zekes aren't all best buddies?"

"I don't know what Gato has planned, but trust me," the black-haired woman tells you, "I'll secretly be cheering for you when it comes time for the final act."

"What's your name?" you ask the mysterious Zeon commander as you begin to throttle back for your return to the La Vie en Rose.

"Cima Garahau," she replies. "And yourself, pilot?"

"Defrah Kar."

"A pleasure," she replies casually before the feed cuts abruptly.

You are Commander Dominic O'Hara, and it's currently the wee hours of the morning on October 23rd, UC 0083. The prisoners taken at Kinbareid are being processed by EFF military police from Madagascar in the wake of the defeat you handed the Zeon defenders here. But that will sort itself out, as these things usually do. If your presence is especially needed you'll be called. Right now, you're most concerned about seeing to Rossweisse.

She's sleeping fitfully in her bed after you had too carry her aboard in your arms. The young cyber Newtype was in a state so severe she couldn't even recover her own mobile suit, and you had to ask Haman to do it for you.

This is much worse for her than it was for you. Something makes you even suspect it might not be all to do with the stress of combat on an inexperienced Newtype's mind, but partly a side effect of the procedures that made her into what... no, into who she is now.

There's a knock on the closed door: it's Uraki.

"Sir?" he asks. "It's Ensign Uraki. Your Captain and Lieutenant Marseille said I could find you here."

Idea/Question;

Could we use data from the EXAM System Project to modify CCs MS so that one can operate a Psycommune system while the other Pilots? "You can come in, Ensign," you announce tiredly, but quietly enough to avoid waking Rossweisse. "And you don't need to say your name, I know who you are."

Uraki steps into the room. His eyes go first to Rossweisse, lingering briefly on her bare shoulders, before falling on you as you sit quietly at her bedside.

"Keep your voice down," you tell him. "She needs her rest right now."

The Ensign nods and pulls up a chair. "You undressed her?" he asks quietly.

"Had to," you reply. "Sleeping in a bulky suit isn't too terribly comfortable, you know. So why are you here?"

"Is she going to be okay? What's wrong with her?" he persists.

"She's fine," you reassure her as she squirms in discomfort. "So far as I can tell this happens to all of us at some point or another." Reaching down you rest your had gently against Rossweisse's head and brush her hair reassuringly, and she relaxes in response.

"I see," he replies lamely before falling silent.

"You know she didn't mean to offend you," you tell him. "By not responding to you, I mean. She's just not very talkative, even around us. She talks to Lieutenant Marseille, Karen, and I more often, but even that's pretty rare."

Ensign Uraki sighs and nods. "That's a relief. So does she..."

"No," you tell calmly him even before he gets the chance to say it. "I didn't need her to tell me she's not interested in you for it to be obvious, but she did."

"As for me," Uraki replies, "nobody needs to tell me that Rossweisse is interested in you. You know that, right?"

"Of course. She's made her feelings crystal clear."

Ring up someone to watch over Ross.

"I doubt the pilot is still here. He's either atomized, Defrah missed her shot and he rendezvous with Delaz, or he played us all and went to ground when this place fell."

"On the brightside, we can ask nicely where he went."

>>
>>33993890
I don't think Kou's behavior deserves a Brightslap. We know that everything's perfectly innocent. From an outsider's perspective it's less clear. It's not like he's being petulant, he just thinks we're kind of skeezy. Which is an understandable view. I mean, we did usurp his role in the plot and establish alpha dominance over everyone on his team. We're kind of an asshole from his perspective.
>>
>>33993494
"I doubt he's still here," you tell Uraki as you scratch your head, "but if he is, I don't want to mess up and let him give us the slip again. I'll come with you."

As you turn to stand, you find that Rossweisse's hand has found your own, and her grasp is holding it there as she sleeps. You can sense that she knows you're leaving, and that she would be asking you to stay were she conscious. You could break her grip easily, but then again it's not her hand that would make that difficult.

"I'm sorry, Rosse," you tell her quietly. "There's something I need to do now, but I'll be back. I'll have Carya and Noin come in to watch over you while I'm gone, okay?"

Slowly, the young woman's grip loosens enough for you to pull your hand away. Before you leave, you stroke her hair affectionately once more. "Don't worry, Rosse. Just rest for now."

You then turn to face Uraki. "Come on, let's go."

As the two of you pass by Carya and Haman on the way out, you greet them warmly.

"I told you she'd be fine, you fool" Haman insists. "Though it makes me happy to see such dedication.

"Don't worry," Catrina adds. "We'll take care of Rossweisse for now... but from when you get back onward we expect you to take care of her. Got it?"

You nod, and head your separate ways.

Before heading out the hangar doors in a jeep you borrowed from the MPs, you pull up next to Nina.

"Hey, Miss Purpleton," Uraki greets her.

"Oh, hi Kou. Commander," she replies wearily. "Where you going?"

"To see if we can't find the asshole who stole your Gundam," you explain.

As if by magic, Nina's exhasution evaporates as she hops into the back of your vehicle.

"I'm all about it," she tells you. "I'm gonna give that bastard a piece of my mind. Teach him to ruin a perfectly good Gundam in a stunt like that."

"Ruined?" Uraki asks.

"Defrah and Lucette sent me a report, apparently the HLV was completely annihilated," she explains. "The Cima fleet was meant to recover it, but Defrah managed to restrain herself from assaulting them as they left."

"They left?" you ask incredulously. "I'd have thought they'd jump at a chance to shoot down the Dedrobium. They went far enough out of their way the first time."

"It's weird," Nina agrees.

At this point, I want you to do two things for me. First, link this post. Second, roll for ONE and exactly ONE of the following at a time:

He's here... you can sense it as you drive towards the makeshift tents that house the wounded and captured Zeon soldiers. The man you've been chasing is here.

"They look so beaten," Uraki comments idly.

You slow down as you roll up to the largest tent. "Keep your eyes open," you tell him. "So what are we looking for?"

"Tall, broad shoulders, pale hair," Uraki recounts. "He had a square chin, a ponytail, and long sideburns or something."

Stepping out of the jeep and into the tent, you can feel a bit of surprise and unease from Nina at the description.

"Don't go getting all starry-eyed on me, Nina," you tease her. "It almost feels like you've fallen for the guy."

Nina waves you off dismissively and walks some distance away, looking over the dozens of dejected prisoners' faces while you and Uraki talk to the head MP: a Lieutenant by the name of Strayer.

"Okay, I get you," Lieutenant Strayer tells you. "You're looking for one Zeke in particular, and I've got plenty for you to look at. More than I can handle, really, so taking him off me's the best favor you could offer."

"Excellent," you tell him as salutes are exchanged. "I'll stay out of your way otherwise."

Surprisingly, it only takes a few minutes before you spot him: standing against one wall is a man who stands apart in your mind. Uraki sees him too, and immediately points him out.

"You!" he announces. "You're the Zeon pilot who we've been after, aren't you!?"

"Real smooth," you mutter.

The Zeon soldier sizes Uraki up. "Who are you?" he asks. "I doubt I'd remember a guy like you even if we HAD met, but I still think you've got me confused for someone else."

"No," you reply. "I think you're our guy. What's your name, stranger?"

The soldier eyes you wearily, with much greater interest than he did Uraki. "You. I fell you might be worth remembering, pilot."

"You picked me out as a pilot already? What gave me away?"

"Shit," you mutter while mussing up your hair a little. "I hate helmet hair. But you didn't answer me: who are you?"

"Anavel!" you hear a fourth voice. It's Nina?

"What are you doing here, Anavel?" Nina asks the Zeon pilot as she runs over to where the three of you are standing.

"Nina?" he asks. "What are you doing here?"

Before she answers, Nina delivers an open-palmed smack across the man's face. "I designed the Gundam that was brought here, but more importantly, did you really leave me for THIS?"

"It was my duty to place my ideals over my happiness," he replies, only to earn himself a back-handed slap in response... this time from you.

"Sorry," you apologize: and you almost mean it. You did, after all, lose control there for a moment. "But any time I hear a Zeon soldier talking about 'ideals' I get a bit slap-happy. But please, DO talk about how gassing colonists and dropping their homes on Australia was all for the benefit of mankind, you sanctimonious fuck."

"I'm taking him with me," you tell Strayer.

"Go right ahead," the Lieutenant replies. "I'll also send you a few officers as well, see if you can make any use of them."

You nod to the man, who waves a trio of his own men over to serve as your escort and Gato's guards... or executioners, if the need arises.

Aboard the Albion, you can't help but rib him a few times as you wait in the hangar for the ship's own MP detail to arrive and take the prisoner into custody. They've been busy offloading all the unimportant prisoners from the Zeon submarine you destroyed yesterday... in total, you'll be left with ten prisoners to interrogate over Zeon's plans for the immediate future.

"Soooo, you and Nina?" you begin.

"Don't," he replies.

"Oh, come on. Was it the legs?"

"Stop."

You grin. "It was, wasn't it? Can't blame you, really."

"I don't want to get into this right now."

Nina merely sits back and takes some small amount of satisfaction out of Gato's discomfort.

"If Uraki wasn't dense as a lead weight he could get some of that action," you comment, hinting heavily at the young officer. He seems completely taken aback, but before he has a chance to say anything the Sisters approach from where they've been standing off to one side.

“Lemme get this straight,” Catrina interrupts. “You know him, he knows you. He tried to nuke us...”

Nina nods in affirmation.

“... why aren't you angrier?” Carya finishes.

"I've already hit him once," Nina replies. "Depending on the interrogations, I might do it again."

"Anyway," Carya continues, pulling you aside to talk in private, "Rossweisse woke up briefly while you were gone."

"How is she?"

"She was sad you weren't here, but she understood you were doing something important. You want to see her before Karen calls a meeting?"

"I have something I need to take care of now," you admit to the sisters. "Something I've been putting off."

The Marseilles nod quietly. "We understand. You reckon it's finally going to happen?"

"Probably. Haman is still deciding, but it seems Rosse's made up her mind," you reply. "Of all the people, it was Uraki who finally tipped the balance."

"Makes sense," Carya replies. "If he can see it, anyone can."

You pull the sisters into a warm embrace, which they return. "I hope this works out," you mutter.

"Don't be an idiot," Catrina scolds you gently. "We've told you already, it'll be fine."

The three of you walk together towards Rossweisse and Haman's quarters, and eventually Carya and Catrina wish you luck before continuing on to your own room. With a deep breath, you let yourself in.

Rossweisse seems happy to see you, as always. The splitting headache has dulled substantially: enough to allow her to smile cheerfully at you instead of cringing in pain.

"I see you're feeling more like yourself," you observe.

Rossweisse nods. "Yes..." she adds quietly.

"We've been making sure you weren't disturbed," you continue. "I figured when this happened to me the first time, all I really needed was some rest."

"To you?" Rossweisse asks.

You nod. "I got it bad, but thankfully Carya and Catrina were there. I might've gone insane otherwise... and I'm not sure I didn't go slightly insane anyways."

Rossweisse laughs to herself softly, before a twinge of pain in her head forces her to stop. "Remind me to thank her."

"You know, Rosse..." you begin, and the young cyber-Newtype's piercing blue eyes suddenly focus on you. It's almost like she knows.

"... I've been doing some thinking. About you, and me, and this whole ridiculous setup."

Rossweisse sits quietly, waiting to hear you out.

"I know that you're in love with me, Rosse. It's obvious, and I love you too. But until today I wasn't sure if I loved you the same way you love me."

"We're connected, Rossweisse. You and I. And if you want to explore how intimate that connection can be, I'd be happy to explore it with you."

There's a long pause where neither of you say anything. Emotions are running high...

... until Rossweisse pulls you down by your collar, and kisses you. Unlike the sisters, who are all passion and wild excitement, what you feel from Rossweisse in that moment is simply warm happiness. It's a sweet feeling, but not saccharine: there's a sensation of mutual affirmation that you've rarely felt in the absence of the sisters.

"About damn time," Catrina mutters to her sister.

Haman simply closes her eyes, deep in deliberation. "Not like Char at all," she concludes with a sigh of relief. "But I like it. So that's what sincerity feels like."

Okay, so we know Amuro's basically an instructor for the EFF, right?
Instead of trying to get him to join our forces, which will almost certanly be denied under some fear of a newtype coup, we should get him assigned to work on designing MS's for the EFF. This guy IS the son of the guy who designed the Gundam, had the most experience with it, and knows and understands firsthand the limitations that MS's offer to Newtype pilots. Considering this is the guy who's already developed the Haro, why not have him develop Newtype MS's?

Fuck no.

Let's all bemoan the lack of any original Rossweise art.
>>

Oh come now. It's not THAT big of a death flag. We'll be in space.

Why don't you just gas a colony while you're at it?

This is the only official art I've got from AoZ. Sadly I don't even have the scans of the series she's in.

Rossweisse is on the right in a Titans uniform... sort of.
>>
So lewd things to do with Rossweisse
>>
>>33997632
I'm still not liking the fact we just upped and boinked. She's a fucking pariah and latched onto the first person who showed her any.. humanity. I would not be surprised if she turned into a closet yandere.

And that makes me moist.
>>
>>33997336
It'll make the inevitable posting to Londenion somewhat uncomfortable.
>>
>>33997692
To be honest, there was no boinking mentioned. We've just given her permission to boink, after several months of knowing her.

I bet you followed SWQ when fap angel basically had to come out and say "AND THEN THEY FUCKED. THE END".

Open your eyes, Shirou. That's a fade-to-black if I ever seen one.
>>
>>33997625
I was more meaning fanart/etc like on Pixiv/Danbooru/Gelbooru blah blah blah. There's nothing but screencaps from the show on the wikia, for example.
>>
>>33997834
They have not fucked. I would have mentioned it specifically.

About that, though. I assume people are fine with me not going into detail about the actual sex? Because I'd be totally comfortable writing it, I just kind of assumed that more people would prefer it being left as an FTB.
>>
So anyway, if you were a desperate band of space Nazis, where would you store the stolen nuclear armed mecha if your main hideout was raided by the Space Police?

That wasn't a fade-to-black? Had me fooled.

If you're going to write smut, pastebin. Fade-to-black in the thread. We always enjoy good fapfiction.
>>
>>33998003
Maybe they hid it at the bottom of the ocean when it was en route on the sub? Don't see how our presence made a change of plans from canon.
>>
>>33998096

>>
>>33998096
Some players I've seen have been pretty uptight about ANY smut written by a QM existing, at least in other quests. Personally I don't get it. Pastebin is perfectly innocuous.

>>33998123
Freebie on how things differed from canon this time? Orville was on your ship. The one with not one but FOUR Gundams and a bunch of Newtypes? Yeah, turns out that's a scary thing for any commander to face.
>>
>>33998123
Metal Gear can't handle extreme pressure. Shield can. I still say they dropped it in the river where we sunk the Angler and the 02 traversed farther upriver.
>>
>>33998249
Would South have ever found the piece of paper? The only reason he actually found the trash implicating Orville was do to being injured if I remember right.
>>
>>33998249
but yeah, to reiterate, KoH, I'd be totally fine with you writing smut and posting it on pastebin and linking here.

Dom would have to throttle some Federation officials on principle, if it did end up somewhere close to Jaburo or Dakar and no one even noticed.

So when are we gonna knock some sense into Gato and recruit him?

He's actually a pretty cool dude, excluding the fanaticism for Zeon
>>
I'm just wondering, is this universe's Jesta named after us?
>>
>>33999138
Ween him away from Delaz and Axis' nutty bunch, have him follow Char?

The tension and hatesex would be glorious.
>>
Rolled 15

>>33999714

Nah I think they'd get along fairly well after being together for awhile. Minus the hatesex, nohomo.

But what's puzzling to me right now is, what the hell is gonna happen with Neo Zeon if Haman's not there? She IS Neo Zeon
>>
>>33999810
Delaz and Mars Zeon is still around, aren't they?
>>
>>33999810
We form Neo Zeon with the help of Gato and Johnny Ridden when the refugee fleet arrives. What could possibly go wrong?

Did you forget about the Sisters? They...kinda don't like Zeon. Much. At all.

Hell they hate it.

>>33999842

Eh just don't think it'd be the same. Like I said, Haman was Neo Zeon. She was the leader, she was the charismatic one, she had a LOT of loyal followers excluding that faggot Glemy.

How? The only thing I can think of possibly changing their mind would be all the Purus! So damn adorable enough that it'd get them over their hate of Zeon and their hate of Newtype experimenting.

Seriously, who can hate on the Purus and actually mean it?
>>

Loli Mineva as well. That's going to turn out to be one right big clusterfuck too.
