Did Sierra ever learn what the hell Verwelkens actually look like?

Dragons. I don't really have a question, I'd just like an infodump.

Supernatural things in general that Sierra should have learned about.

I remember that Isaac said his crossbow was forged in Elesya or something. Is that the name of heaven as a whole or is it just a part of it or what?

Did we ever ask anyone how magic works at all? Like, rough basic theory stuff.

Not seeing how that's going to happen if you don't have some sort of quest summary written up.

What do the various types of demons look like? We know Hellion, Infernus, Tartaran, and Nymphia(I just know I'm spelling their name wrong), but I don't think we got the others.

Are there any mixes that just don't work normally besides the [IN]+[VE]? What's the largest number of types that can mix and all have traits/powers present?
>>
Languid, if you wrote up a synopsis that would be swell

You should probably get a plan if you want this to be a recap and not an infodump- those of us who are already here don't care about the recap, and those who would care about a recap won't care until it's actually written.

Infernus

Inferni are the hulking monstrosities that people generally associate with death metal or caricatures of western demons. They have red skin, tails, claws, horns, and other classically demonic attributes. In comparison to humans, they are often larger, stronger, and tougher physically. As a rule they are fireproof, and enjoy power over blood and violence. They have a heightened sense of smell, especially where blood is concerned.

Inferni of higher birth generally have other traits, such as the ability to manifest fire, fly into powerful blood rages where they gain additional strength and become nearly invincible killing machines. Other Inferni traits include magically recovering from injuries by feasting on the blood of their enemies. Flight capable wings and armored flesh represent a mark of nobility or distinguishment among their kind.

Verwelken

Verwelkens are responsible for legends and traditions of shadow people, boogeymen, and other mythical beings with power over the darkness. They enjoy dominion over the night, and can control shadows, bending them to their will, even to the point of joining with surrounding darkness. They can become immaterial, invisible, or vanish at will. Verwelkens enjoy greater freedom of movement when not being observed.

Highborn Verwelkens can slip between the cracks of reality itself, and flit from location to location with impunity. Their magic and abilities make them nearly insurmountable in single combat.

Verwelkens have one prevalent weakness. Light will ward them away, and sunlight will destroy them altogether. Excepting this, they can be everywhere and nowhere at the same time, and know of all the ways of moving unseen and undetected.
>>
I'll write up a summary. Good place to start.
>>

Elysia is a region of 'heaven'. Heaven's 'real' name as a whole is Pardisca, like Hell is called Halth.

Magic works through an application of willpower and energy. The general structure of the universe can be manipulated in ways that adhere to a higher set of fundamental physical laws, which can sometimes override regular physical systems. Symbols and glyphs and other things have power because they have meaning to those that created them, which meaning persists even when the creators are long gone.

I'll answer the other questions when I get to them.

You've seen one of everything except Verwelkens. I'll get to them, though.

You have seen Belphegorans. They most resemble humans, though they have off-eye colors, monochromatic hair coloration, and monochromatic skin. They sometimes have pointed ears, akin to elves. I'll have a post for them later.

The way bloodlines work in demons (or other races, for that matter) is that one line predominates. In demons, there are stronger bloodlines in the different archetypes. These are usually used to determine nobility and right to rule in hell, as those with higher bloodlines are usually stronger as a result.

Mixes tend to be weaker, as the dominating bloodline, however strong, diminishes as it is diluted. A 50% infernus will usually be stronger than a 30% infernus, whose line has predominated. While most kinds of demons can interbreed, those with excessively muddied heritages (4+ types) often have little to none of the powers of their ancestry, and are considered scum good only for slave labor or blood sport. They are generally incapable of procreation.
>>
>>33963686
Might also explain why she hasn't bubbled up and exploded, if all her genetics draw from highborn lines. Perhaps it's only muddied or weaker types that end up with the crazy meltdowns

Meckor was an ex-Chthonian general, and Chthonia has a population comprised chiefly of Belphegorans and Inferni. His entourage was selected from those who would respect him.

There is no especially rare type of demon. Verwelkens are the most elusive demons, but their numbers are not much less than other kinds, though they chiefly keep to their own lands and dominions in Verwelkia, the land of gloaming. It is rare to see them outside of their own realms.

>>33963638

There is disagreement on the issue. Some sources say they have a body, others say they're sentient darkness.

>>33963686

Sierra has limitless powergain potential, but the gain in her bloodlines is limited by the quality of her blood. The fact she seems to have highborn Infernus and Belphegoran blood means she is destined to gain all of their traits, sooner or later. You don't really know if you have highborn Verwelken blood or not, yet.

>>33963699

Demons and hellborn manifest different powers, even among the same archetypes. Trevon's powers coule be explained by him being half Infernus, of an Infernus that happened to have ridiculous regenerative capabilities and not much else. That would imply he was scumborn Infernus.

You might be able to get to that level of regeneration, though your strength lies in the diversity of your blood, and specialization to that degree will require you to become much more powerful first..
>>
>>33964378
>The fact she seems to have highborn Infernus and Belphegoran blood means she is destined to gain all of their traits, sooner or later.
Flight capable wings and pointed ears confirmed
>>
>>33964378
Was Corithis herself part Verwelken or was she just Infernus+Belphagoran?
>>
>>33963768

No. Child of Night depends on ambient light. Shadow Self increases defenses, though, because you can parry attacks and defend yourself with your shadow. It doesn't increase your armor and damage resistance.

>>33963822

Nyphicans are creatures of magic and passion. They can cannibalize the powers from other creatures and add them to their own. The goatmen you ran into were scumborn Nyphican mercenaries, who, while terrible, were better than human mercenaries that Ranthix could get his claws on.

>>33963864

Seven is a magic number. If you look for specific demons to fit each of the seven deadly sins, you may come up short, though. That's mostly a teaching device the Catholics came up with, which fits neatly with there being seven varieties of demon archetypes.
>>
>>33964515
> If you look for specific demons to fit each of the seven deadly sins, you may come up short, though.
Damn. You have to admit, though, it does fit rather nicely for most of them.

[VE] - Pride
[IN] - Wrath
[BE] - Sloth
[HE] -
[NY] - Lust
[ST] - Greed
[TA] -

Envy and gluttony don't really fit Hellion or Tartaran, so I guess it does come up short, but five out of seven ain't too shabby.
>>
>>33964515
>Nyphicans are creatures of magic and passion. They can cannibalize the powers from other creatures and add them to their own.
Ok. They kinda sound like a middleground between Hellion, Infernus, and Belphegoran.

They got some of the physical strength and the bigness from [IN], they got the magic focus of [HE], and they got the power sapping thing that [BE] has.

How do you mean cannabalize? Do you mean that Nyphicans. while they don't have a specific power set, can steal power from others? If, for example, a Nyphican takes out an Infernis, they could theoretically take their power and become a fire goat demon?

Nyphicans could be considered gluttony as easily as lust, due to the cannibalizing powers thing.
That could also be read as greed, if it isn't *literally* cannibalizing their powers.

Stygians might make more sense as envy than greed, due to the fact that their whole gimmick is illusions and deception.

I don't really understand why Verwelkens are pride.

The Hallows refrained from pursuing legal action, mostly because what happened was accidental, to a degree. Beatrice and a couple of her friends were suspended for a few days. They haven't bothered you or Rowan or anybody you know since that day. You get the impression that she's finally moved on.

What's the opion of demons regarding Corithis's Reign. We know that Ranthix thinks she was the best thing ever, but are there dissenting views? Do some demons regard her as nothing more than a ruthless tyrant?

Isaac is no expert on Eastern arcana, though there are a multitude of powerful spirits that reside there. Lots of lore and legends are based on real things though, so it's likey there's something that inspired the story, even if it's not something named Raijin specifically.

They can steal powers from things. The process can be complicated or streamlined, carnal or formal, but generally, if they have a power, whatever they took it from doesn't have the power anymore.

They're usually limited in how much they can pick up, since acquiring powers can get you weaknesses as well, if you do it wrong. The most powerful Nyphicans often have their own share of weaknesses. Highborn Nyphicans are better at harvesting power in its purity and avoiding the drawbacks of that power.

The demons that loved her loved her, and the demons that wanted to be her hated her.

Deletrius Crowther says that not long after you were born, she went on a mission to annihilate slavery. Most of the noble families wanted her dead because this threatened their political position and way of life.

Even so, being the Imperiate and the queen of an empire she made up, and also ridiculously powerful, nobody could resist Corthis's bloody liberation of Halth. And then she mysteriously died, Chthonian fell apart, and those that took credit for her death died as quickly as they claimed that they were the new Imperiate.

>>33965202

Demons have traditionally been of a more free and expansionist mindset. Angelic government, being more orderly and respective of the idea that planes should be separate, have traditionally opposed demon meddling with other worlds.

Usually, hell is at its worst when it has a strong tyrant who has achieved unquestioned power. Without any infighting, the natural cultural tendency is to turn to conquest outside the plane.

In the 30's, Corithis was this tyrant. She looked outside the planes of hell for lands ripe for conquest, and assaulted everywhere there was to invade. Her efforts in Terra were covert and violent, and persistent enough to cause many countries (namely those with Templar and Free Mason background or influence) to enact zero tolerance policies in relation to demons.

Governments which resist organizations, such as those in Asia or Africa, have varying policies.

Some countries (mostly places you don't want to go) even actively seek and encourage immigration from extra-planar creatures such as demons. They offer a host of service programs that put the abilities of such beings to use in whatever capacity the nation desires.

Dragons are an ancient race of magical, long lived creatures. They come in all shapes and sizes, from ones the size of a hill, to others small enough to sit on your shoulder. Many are landmasters.

Most, if not all, dragons have a hoard of treasured possessions, which they keep for their own enjoyment.

Dragons are found across all planes, on all continents. They are masters of their domain, and have no trouble moving through local populaces unseen. Hundreds of years of experience often allow them to cast glamors powerful enough to hide their size, and appear as species completely not their own.

Until then, I'll go with teen girl likes teen girl schlick-bait.

Eat it, anti-romance fags

>>33966186
How's the recap coming along?
>>
>>33966045

I didn't expect the Hallows to take such a spotlight.

I didn't expect Meckor to get killed. I wanted to have a big showdown with everybody and their dog at the landwell against a bunch of demons.

I also thought people would like Baron better, but I didn't really know his character that well when I introduced him, and that's colored a lot of reactions since then.

Waldric might have been a romantic interest, but everyone hated him so much, it seemed like a more useful approach to have him be a gray character.

I was hoping you failed the escape sequence from the Goblin warren, and had your mirror broken. You would have wound up in Cerra with Borislav, and have to go through a small adventure to return to Earth.

But the biggest thing is I thought you'd let Nabuth go. That would have changed pretty much everything after thread ten or whatever it was. Nabuth had a lot of power behind him, and he would have been happy enough to use you to achieve his goals.

Daniel Radcliffe ain't nothing special. Matthew Lewis, the actor who played Neville Longbottom, however, is quite dreamy indeed.
>>
>>33966186
Out of your entire cast of character, who has been the most enjoyable to write so far?
>>
>>33966294
>Once thought
Those are some pretty key words.
Also, it doesn't prove anything, even if she is or was attracted to Daniel Radcliffe, it doesn't mean she'd go after a trap.

>>33966311
Neither of us can prove anything, and so the point is invalid and you have no argument.
Burden of Proof is in your court anyway, since you're the one trying to make a point and basing your argument entirely around it.

>>33966186
>That's one of the things I enjoy writing
I'm okay with this, just don't let people magical realm and make sure to replace any would-be smut with a fade-to-black.

Schlick bait is schlick bait. It's not our fault Sierra has terrible tastes in actors
>>

Is Sierra attracted to Danielle Radcliffe? I need to know for reasons

>>
>>33966401

When Philostrahus chucked Sierra through a hell portal, what would have happened if we didn't make it back through the portal? Besides possibly being eaten by the Mother Of All Condapedes
>>
>>33966546
Yeah, Harvey and Baron seem pretty lackluster, and they're the "normal" ones. Ranthix and Borya are... Well, what they are. I'm not saying they're not enjoyable, but you know, they feel like characters rather than persons, I guess? Though Borya actually seemed to come together last time we saw him, though it might have been because he had been out-hammed by Ranthix.
>>
>>33966592
Yeah, there's a reason tons of people wanted to waifu Rowan or Moriah and not any of the prospective guys that you put out there.

Getting cuntblocked from Wolfgang probably doesn't help either.
>>
Earlier, when asked what would have happened if Sierra gave herself up to the police after her Rampage, you said she would have committed suicide. How serious were you when you said that?
>>
>>33966631

Dragons are so old nobody remembers where they're from. It's possible they came from a common origin on some plane before they figured out how to plane hop, but since plane hopping is a part of their move list, it's possible that everywhere is native to them.

>>33966298

You'd have to ask - oh wait, she's dead. Maybe you could - no, he's dead too. +3 stress and try not to cry too much.

Mrs. Song plays all coy when you ask her about how she knew stuff. You don't think she ever actually met your mom, but they may have had dealings with one another.

>>33966399

I'm answering questions. I'll start a recap later.

>>33966431

Sierra, thankfully. I like her because she's an unreliable narrator. She says things she doesn't mean, and her lens colors the way you see the world, but it's still obvious what's actually going on.

Ranthix is fun, though I secretly hate it when you have extended conversation with him due to his commitment to ALL CAPS. Never go to Ranthix for lore dumps ever again, please.

>>33966442

I like writing romance. I don't write smut. That being said, if Hellborn Quest was a movie, it would be rated R.

>>33966485

She really, really likes Harry Potter. She finds the actor attractive, but she was a little kid when she was introduced to the series and the movies.

>>33966515

He was looking out for his own interests. He couldn't care less about Meckor. I can't really say more because spoilers, though I will point out that he knew your human name.
>>
>>33966705
>He knew our human name
So he onviously knew we where the heir to the Empire. How the fuck did he think he could take us on, in that case? I recall we were at most level 2 or 3 at the time too.
>>
>>33966705
What in the world was Meckor doing that was blocking all the damage? Was his armor enchanted? Did he just have high natural armor?
>>
I would just like to thank Languid for running such an entertaining quest.
>>
>>33966534

I've never even suggested that before. Also, the whole Raan are a flock of birds thing is dumb. I don't know how people jumped to that conclusion so fast, nor why they stuck with it so hard.

>>33966546

I agree. I think my problem is that I know what I'd find attractive about a girl, so I can write that. At least initially (and getting better) I was trying too hard to write a guy that would be attractive to a girl.

I got a lot better when I realized I was being stupid, and decided I would just make all the guys cool, since coolness and attractiveness are essentially the same thing.

>>33966570

I was hedging my bets that you made it back through the portal. Thankfully I don't have to consider what I would have done if you didn't.

Actually, a surprising number of times I've found myself putting you up to a hard DC and not having any plans for if you fail it. The whole drowning pool scene, I was hoping you didn't lose control, even though you were pretty much guaranteed to lose control.

>>33966592

Borya is limited in his language. He'll be better when he can talk. He is kind of the designated druid, though, so it is what it is. Hopefully when you get to see him being himself and not the druid, all of the things that seem random and zany will make sense in context.

That was my experience with getting to know Russian people from an American perspective, anyawy. At first they seem outlandishly stereotypical, and then you realize they're actually pretty cool.
>>
>>33966868
Are you happy with the system you use? Do you generally wing the stress and sanity thing?
>>
>>33966695
I'd love a proper portrait of her unglamored. A skeletal-headed demoness looking awkward and shy sounds adorable to me.
>>
>>33966868
>Stygians
I remembered hearing sounds associated with rats and being grabbed by some prehensile tentacle/tail, but I suppose I assumed incorrectly. Mind describing them, in that case?
>>
>>33966868
Is Operation:NTR WOLF'SWAIFU something you'd be willing to write if players voted for?
>>
>>33966592

Harvey doesn't really show much emotion, which can be hard to read, and is probably the reason people hate him so much.

The other unfortunate thing is that he doesn't really go out of his way to say things. He observes. And though he doesn't crack too many jokes, the important thing to know is that he thinks Sierra is hilarious.

>>33966654

I was frustrated that the game had got out of control. I didn't know what to do, since I was planning everything around the big fight scene at the landwell. I was pretty much ready to commit narrative suicide at that point, and the summer seemed to be coming to an end, so that would have been a good time to end it.

Then a couple days later I thought things through, and figured it wasn't actually that hard to adjust my game plan.

>>33966761

Go reread that scene. He wasn't betting on killing you. He was trying to intimidate you into letting him not get smitten by the Hallows.

>>33966805

Magic breastplate, which he'd forged himself.

>>33966858

You're welcome. Also, thanks for participating.
I get tickled pink when I see people engaging with the material. If people weren't enjoying themselves I'd bail.

>>33967025

I go with what feels right. I wish I could change whatever value you're at easier, even without indicating exactly how it happened, between shorter time skips.

Since how I figure the numbers is a behind the scenes thing though, I don't want to make anyone feel like stress management decisions have no impact.
>>
>>33967097
>and is probably the reason people hate him so much.
Oh, hey, he's not hated. He's just somewhat... Haah, well, we don't interact with him or his cast either a lot. Of course, now that we know he has an elf around...
>>
>>33966705
>I like writing romance. I don't write smut. That being said, if Hellborn Quest was a movie, it would be rated R.

I think part of the problem with the introduction of romance is the fact that you've presented Sierra as being so adverse to even being touched. I can't imagine this being conducive to romance.

>Be cool guy
>Meet Sierra
>She's super fit
>Has a wicked sense of humor
>She's really into you
>You and her go back to your place
>She's flexible
>Her stamina is insane
>Best night of your life
>Morning after
>Go in for a kiss
>She flinches
>Feels bad man

To get that close to someone, only for them to pull back would be, for me at least, a knife in the soul.
>>
>>33967242
Wouldn't the whole don't like being touched thing would come up before the whole sex thing anyways?
>>
>>33967242
Man, if she actually managed to sleep with someone, I don't think a kiss in the morning would be a problem
>>
>>33964971
>>33965003

...So we're a fiery-tempered reckless red-themed schoolgirl with a magic blade, an adopted family, a friend at school who is the odd one out, and a few bully problems., and we don't know much about are mom and we have an estranged relationship with our dad, whom sent us off to foster care and we haven't seen in forever.

When is it revealed that Nevada is Satsuki?
>>
>>33967288
She's fine with touching as long as she's the one doing it, so she'd pin you down and ride you for all you're worth then get all fidgety with the morning after stuff.
>>
>>33967242
She made out with people before. Well, at least one guy and one girl. She's not a Japanese case.
>>
>>33967242
I can't even imagine her sleeping next to someone, let alone having sex.
I can see her lying back straight, trying to look off into the distance and not think about someone touching her, probably shivering the entire time.
Split second touching initiated by her is literally the only thing that doesn't make her skin crawl and itch, and it still has to be kept short or she starts to panic.
>>
>>33967089

Yes. Like some people pointed out, Wolfgang wasn't exactly against the idea of you kissing him.

>>33967050

I'll have a Stygian post. The thing is that Stygians can be pretty physically frail, or huge. You can't be sure how much of that display was him and how much of that was him trying to seem scary with illusions. It could be he never really had a shot at fighting you at all.

>>33967242

Working through those problems is part of the adventure. Sierra will never overcome her weird phobias and aversions if she never tries to overcome them.

I've done what I can to let the players know that you're not against romance. The execution might be difficult and have its setbacks, but the payoff should outweigh the difficulties.

>>33967317

Spoiler that crap, man.
>>
>>33967317
Our dad dropped us off with grandparents or something didn't he, before trying to go into hiding and seemingly failing at it.

>>
>>33967434

The demons that loved her loved her, and the demons that wanted to be her hated her.

Deletrius Crowther says that not long after you were born, she went on a mission to annihilate slavery. Most of the noble families wanted her dead because this threatened their political position and way of life.

Even so, being the Imperiate and the queen of an empire she made up, and also ridiculously powerful, nobody could resist Corthis's bloody liberation of Halth. And then she mysteriously died, Chthonian fell apart, and those that took credit for her death died as quickly as they claimed that they were the new Imperiate.

That is downright orky.
>>
>>33965931
I seriously would go down the Ranthix route.
>>
>>33967619

Not every relationship lasts for years. Some die out after a few months. Others don't even last a couple weeks.

>>33967644

You basically become Imperiate by shouting the loudest, so it's not far off the mark.
>>
>>33965990
A female liking traps is straight.
>>
Question about Bloodlust.
Does Sierra have to kill to satiate her bloodlust? Or just doing violence and drinking blood enough to quell the urges.

Question About Landwell Empowerment:
When supercharging Rowan, did Sierra impart some of her Hellborn onto her? Or did the supercharging just bring out Rowan's latent
potential with no spiritual contamination.
>>
>>33967696
>You basically become Imperiate by shouting the loudest
Ranthix for Imperiate.
>>
>>33967619

It's generally considered a really shitty thing to do to go after someone in a relationship. Saying "well you know feelings change, maybe theirs will too" isn't going to make people not treat you like scum if you proactively go after someone else's boyfriend or girlfriend. That's not a "shitty hentai thing" so much as something that will quickly get people distancing themselves from you or get you punched in the mouth in the real world.
>>
>>33967716
Yeah, but I'm talking about Sierra. Would she go for some feminine boy? I never saw one hint of that in her. Remember her discussion with Rowan.
>>
>>33967724
I wouldn't feel bad or consider it a scummy thing to do, so long as Wolfgang actually breaks up with her before anything serious happens and doesn't lead her on.
Wolfgang being trapped in a relationship when he feels that he would rather be with another is a pretty terrible idea for a lot of reasons.

I agree that NTR isn't okay, but that isn't really what being in a relationship with Wolfgang would entail.
Do we even know anything about how serious his relationship with his girlfriend even is?
>>
>>33967724
Acting all shy and self-conscious around Wolfgang because Sierra's feelings (even as fleeting as they may be) didn't disappear overnight isn't gunning for it though.

Stygian

Stygians are monstrous creatures, with no two stygians looking alike. They can be amorphous and sluglike, muscled and stumpy, or anything else. They’re champion liars and deceivers, and nothing about them, from their appearance to their attitude, should be taken at face value. They are skilled with illusion, and are often paid handsomely to craft glamors of beauty or disguise for their demonic bretheren. Their bodies are capable of sudden and violent mutation, resulting in strange and disgusting abilities that vary from Stygian to Stygian, and grow more rampant and horrible the longer they stay alive.

Another interesting note about their physiology, about twenty males are born to every Stygian female, and Stygian females are, on average, twenty times larger than Stygian males, and are known to eat their mates.
>>
>>33967905
I know, I still want to know about drinking donor blood.

So does the military ever hire demons to work for them? I could see a lot of benefits to that.

I think Sierra will be graduating High School soon, getting involved with the court, possibly going to College or taking a year off....Or just taking a year to work with the Hollows to pad her college application (meh grades and passing vs. taking a year off, traveling, getting involved with community works, it's a great idea for some people).

Getting to know Baron a bit more can also help. We've mostly been dealing with Sierra's past right now, and we didn't try to meet more people initially.
>>

One thing I'd say about Baron is he'd probably be accepting of who Sierra is, which is extremely high on the romantic checklist. Although drinking blood might be one of those things you don't do in polite company.

If Baron hooks up with Moriah, it's cool too honestly.

Violence and shedding blood will curb Sierra's bloodlust, and lower it. Killing things and drinking their blood will sate it. Drinking blood fresh from a source or hard fighting can slow down bloodlust from rising as quickly, but without the real violence part, it won't lower it.

>>33968531

Sparring might help reduce the amount of bloodlust feeding you have to do.

>>33968558

That's bad end, anon.

Back to demon bios, and then eventually, we will have recap things.

When Sierra eventually unlocks the rest of the physical demony attributes, do you think Rowan would want to touch wings?

That reminds me, we need to show off our flash new stuff to Moriah. Also get Rowan to join in, since more people she can unglamor with would probably be nice for her plus she's kind of part of our flash new tricks.

Um this is sorta off topic (I think) but I was wondering if there is a rpg that's similar with this quest's setting. In terms of the PCs being biologically hellish in nature

Belphegoran

Belphegorans bear the closest resemblance to humans of all demonkind. They can control and manipulate emotions, as well as feed on them. They can induce psychological effects on those around them, and exercise supernatural influence to bend others to their will.

While they have no outstanding physical characteristics beyond abnormal skin, eye, and hair coloration that differentiates them from humankind, this allows them easily to slip in among their number and control several or even dozens of mortals from behind the scenes.

They are also magical leeches, absorbing and corrupting magical forces into negative energy. They are resilient to magic, and are capable of cursing their foes to horrible, nigh inescapable suffering. The most powerful Belphegorans can drive chaos into the very hearts of those that stand against them, turning even the most loyal against their kindred.

I don't see why you'd have to, considering what you said earlier. >>33964149

Or were they less knife-ears and more of a slight point?

It's kind of like what Ranthix has going on in this picture. Jagged ears?

Hellion

Hellions’ most striking capability their gift of the third eye. Essentially, they can sense magic in a manner akin to how others can see light. Their sixth sense allows them to excel at magical arts, since it is much easier for a Hellion mage to learn from his mistakes than it would be for one not similarly gifted. They are distinguished by their skinless forms, and more notably their split-jaws and skull-like visages.

All Hellions sport some degree of arcane ability due to their inborn skill with magic, and it is usual for each Hellion to have some type of individual innate of magical aptitude. Some can manipulate the forces that govern life, others the elements, and others many more things besides. In Halth, Hellion mages are in high demand, and any court worth report will have at least one as a retainer.

Tataran

Tatarans are born with great intellectual capacity, and frail physical forms. Their minds, and therefore bodies, do not interact with time space in the same way as other creatures. The effect is that they manifest abilities related to precognition, telepathy, telekinesis, and other forms of cerebral prowess. Highborn Tatarans are capable of bending even some of the most fundamental laws of physics to their will.

Perhaps because of their individual intellegences, Tatarans tend to perceive the world very differently from one another, and other types of demons. They tend to seclude themselves as they climb to ever greater heights of understanding and powers of the mind, even as their hold on reality deteriorates. The most powerful Tatarans are almost guaranteed to have no perception of the world as others would comprehend it, instead melding past, present, future, and the material elements and energies that bind it all together as one cohesive, panoramic picture.

yes.

Landwells exist in Halth, as it was part of Meckor's plans to use the one on earth to connect with them and create a big ass portal for an army to march through.

We need to get a powerful tataran. We can lock it in a phone box, like one of those old police phone boxes. Then it can help us travel though time and space....I'm sure there would be a great name for such a box that would be easy to remember. Maybe something that sounds a bit like Tataran.

Nyphican

Nyphicans are associated with legends of Satyrs, minotaurs, and goatmen, mischievously leading men and women astray into the woodlands with promises of reward or carnal delights, and then butchering them for their own selfish gain. They can cannibalize powers and traits from other beings, be them man, demon, or animal.

There is no regimented way for these demons to go about it. The process can be complicated or streamlined, carnal or formal, but generally, if they have a power, whatever they took it from doesn't have it anymore.

Highborn Nyphicans can steal health, magical talent, and more, and can hold more than lowborn among its kin. However, when transferring something from one being to itself, certain rules must be followed, or the demon risks bringing with its newly acquired strength, weakness. Failure to adhere to certain tenants can also result in a degradation of the ability stolen, or only a partial theft of whatever power it meant to take.

To ensure the best possible transfer, the one losing something knows what is being lost, and agrees to it in exchange for something of comparable value. Failure on a Nyphican’s part to give something in exchange or to engage in carnal action such as torture, flesh-eating, or other unsavory activities with the loser, may result in a poor transfer, or even a transfer of a weakness instead of a strength.

When a Nyphican dies, the power it holds reverts to whatever it took it from, if able to receive it.
