Under the leadership of elders Miekix and Nomia, the tribe moves from the outskirts of the Great Forest even deeper, deeper than any of the plains tribe has ever dared. The land remains pretty much unchanged the further west the group travels, though you -do- come across a river

Hey, sexy lady.

Just posting here to say however many people there were before, now there is one more. Whoever is GMing: don't you normally state a magic-level and such? These tend to go smoother with a more dictatorial DM that states a few options as well as an 'other' option.

Seconding
>>
Your people decide to stop for a moment by the river, see what is to be seen. Under the careful supervision of their parents, some of the children splash into the water, while the rest of the tribesmen look around. Running above the tribe, in the dense canopy, are dozens, if not hundreds of squirrels. A few flashes of movement from larger creatures can be seen as well nearer the ground

>>
>>33946251

Let's get this shit moving. Use the wood to build huts around a totem pole to the god of ork-murdering.
>>
>>33946475
>totem pole

Same guy again; if I name up and become the tribe's head zealot, can I describe what the god is like and name it?
>>
>>33946475
Using your crude stone and flint axes, your people begin chopping wood from the forest around you, and stretching the hides you brought, make some rudimentary huts in a semicircle. Your people also erect a crude wooden totem (basically a log) in the middle of the huts in the hopes that it will please whatever supernatural force may be out there

>stone age

Let's do that, but with a view to wrestling anything we find into submission so we can start a farm.
>>
Now that we've settled by the river, the first priority is getting food. You send your strongest and quickest 15 men out to hunt for food. It must be nearby! Meanwhile, some of your children have spotted berries growing by the riverbank, and some of your women are sent to collect them. Finally, the rest of your men are sent to chop more wood.
>Your hunting/gathering parties will return next turn. What should your remaining ten women do?

Make the place look pretty
>>
>>33946700
We already have that, somewhat. We have a leader.
>>
>>33946780

Carve faces into the totem, then. Most of them should probably be really angry about the existence of non-humans. We can make it more elaborate once we have better tools. Maybe eventually clad it in metal and spikes, and make it breathe fire or something.
>>
Rolled 64

We should scout, see if anything interesting is around. Send 3 men in each direction

Instead of just north, scouts are sent in all directions, save for east- after all, you came from there. The remaining people at the camp attempt to enlarge the pens, taking their axes further to the woods around them. The pens grow, and any gaps are covered up.

I guess this mostly depends on GM whims, but an arbitrary and small number of deer seems pretty pointless and also deep woods isn't the best habitat. Surely we should do some deforestation, or set up mushroom/berry farms in the meantime? Or just dedicate a couple of hunters to the job and get to the more important task of eradicating all the orks inthe name of Vez'gul. That and making awesome ewok-style treehouses with bridges between them.

After a few days, your scouting pairs return with news! And deer, though they seem to be out of it.The pair that ran southward hit the coast, but were stopped by a massive, unscalable wall. The northern scouts didn't make it very far... they encountered a forest fire and were retreating, when one of the men was hit on the shoulder by an arrowhead. He's badly injured. The pair that headed west, however, hit it rich. They followed the river, and came to a waterfall, leading down to a large valley, teeming with wildlife- also inhabited, by what look to be men made of the very earth.

With these discoveries, the tribe, named 'Doth' for 'Forest', celebrate by carving more faces into the totem, but nothing happens

I'll be in both. It's fine if you slow down a tad, but let's make sure this doesn't die. Will you continue it tomorrow?

This, sadly

>Yes I will! 4pm PST, or I could do earlier

You make eye contact with the twins and smile at them, telling them you don't mean any harm, though they look at your tribe with deadened eyes. You silently make your way into the scorched clearing, but one of your men steps on a twig and the resulting crack gives the goblins pause. It is enough though, for you to charge, and soon their forces have been cut down by half. But this doesn't stop the rest, who immediately take up their bows and start firing with deadly accuracy, immediately killing 6 of your men, and grazing 3 others. You finish off the rest of the goblins, when one steps out at the other side of the clearing, taking aim and grazing a forth with his arrow. He's about to re-nock, when the little girl looks at him, and with a nonchalant wave of her hand, the lead goblin is speared through the chest with a tree root.

Thank the girl. Instruct your men to tend to the wounded and loot the dead, while the Leaders adress the Children. "Spirits I presume?"

Your leader smiles warmly at the children, before nodding to his men to tend to the wounded. He cordially steps up to the children with a bow, and asks them if they are the spirits in charge of the forest. They say yes, and he thanks them for the shelter.

Ask them what they embody, and request their blessing. Invite them to our home. Have some men loot the camp.

The children say that they are the embodiment of the deep forest, and that the tribe is welcomed. Time is taken to loot the bodies of the goblins (no camp, just bored, wanton destruction) and some bows are taken, perhaps to be reverse engineered later

Go home and introduce the Children to Vez

Most of the bows were broken during the skirmish, but your tribesmen are able to gather nine of them, and they head back to the village, the Twins in tow. There is a huge celebration in the village of now 42 people, compiled with the fact that two of the children, a boy and a girl, are now adults! The Twins are brought to Vez'gal, who simply shrugs, saying that his only job is the protection of your tribe.

A new day dawns in the village, accompanied by a few groans from the village elders, who'd made the mistake of gorging themselves in fermented berries.
>Alcohol discovered!
