You are a young doctor, You are a young human doctor, abducted by the K'tulu, and recently released by demand of the Galactic Senate. You're currently on your way to the market district, partially to kill time and partially to prepare for the meeting this evening and the expedition into the ruins that may follow it.

Alright, so I'm still alive, kind of. Sorry about just dropping off the face of the earth for so long without any explanation, but if anybody is interested whatsoever in following this quest anymore, I'm still interested in running it. As for why I disappeared for so long, I don't really want to get too deep into it, but I had to go and help out my Dad who was sick, and I didn't have a lot of time to myself. That's over now and I've got some time, but I'm also getting ready to head back into school for the first time in a couple years, so once that starts I'm probably only going to have one or two updates a week, hell it may even be that way before then too. We'll just have to see how things turn out. Like I said before, sorry about disappearing, but it happened.

Anyways, as a brief re-cap, if you need one, we are on Velik Leis after we defeated the leader of the pirate raid, we met with Angelicia and Reece about a meeting with somebody who is planning an expedition into one of the closer ruins to this city. At the moment we're on our way to the shopping district, both to pass time until the meeting and also to prepare for the meeting and/or expedition. Also while I know you guys voted to give Adria a call, I lost my notes on it and have no clue where I was going with that so...uh sorry. I promise you'll get a chance to talk to her again later, and she is far from the last alien you will meet in your travels. My plans for the future of the quest have altered slightly, though not too much. I will say that while I have nothing against setting up a med-station or something, I don't really plan on having you guys settle down entirely for a while. Perhaps a small clinic that would be relatively easy to pick up and move...still that's stuff for the future. For now, let's get to the actual quest.
>>
A small sigh of disappointment escapes you as your communicator prompts you to leave a message once again, apparently Adria is too busy to talk at the moment. You briefly consider calling her again, before deciding against it, as you'd rather not send the wrong message by calling her insistently, besides you already left her a message on the last call. With that thought in mind you tap the area behind your ear and kill the call.

Turning your attention back to the view outside your taxi, you can't help but be slightly impressed by the quickly approaching market district, even having already visited it once since you've arrived on Velik Leis. As you approach one of the many landing pads in the area you're able to make out several different shops and stands in the immediate area. You're also able to make out quite a few different species of people here as well, most of them ones that you don't recognize as of yet, though you do manage to make out several K'tulu and a few humans interspersed throughout the crowd.

Finally, you're pulled from your thoughts as the taxi touches down on the pad and the door to your right opens on it's own accord. As you step out of the air car and turn to look at the shopping district again, you wonder where you should head first. You know that there's a weapons shop somewhere around here, or at least Reece had mentioned one anyways, you're not really sure you really need any more weapons, but the options there, you suppose.

Aside from that you figure that it probably wouldn't hurt to try and find someone who could either repair your armor for you or sell you a maintenance kit that would allow you to do it yourself, and when you make your way over to the map kiosk, it doesn't take you too long to find one. As you look over it you see quite a few other shops that you might want to visit at some point, though the only other one that catches your immediately interest is a book store near here, though after thinking it over a bit, your realize that you might want to see if you can find more appropriate clothing for a meeting...after all while you're not sure what kind of restaurant you're going to tonight, you're still going to be discussing business, aren't you?

So, where do you want to go first?
>Might as well check out the weapon shop. You're going on an expedition into the ruins, after all, not sure if you might need something more than what you've got now.
>Head to the armorer. Fixing the seal on your helmet is one of your top priorities right now.
>Go to the book store first. You've been wanting to get some material on at least basic first-aid for anybody that isn't human, granted it's unlikely that any of them would be in English, but at least you would have them for later.
>You're here for business right now, head to the clothing store and ask about appropriate attire for meetings on this planet.

Thanks, I'll admit that I wasn't sure if I wanted to try again with it. I figured that with it being gone so long people probably wouldn't be interested in it anymore, but figured that I'd at least try. Hopefully I can write out a half-way decent session, this is the first time I've actually done anything writing-related since the last session. Anyways, I'll stop wasting time now.

I don't know why QM's ever think this.
This is almost never the case. A low player turnout is more likely due to players not knowing that it's running than a lack of interest.

yea its really hard to constantly scan /tg/ to find out when a quest reemerge from the void. a twitter really helps like on here https://twitter.com/Eisenstern/lists/quest-runner-directory

Mulling it over for a few moments, you decide that it would probably be best to head to the armorer first. You've got no clue how long it might take a repair a the seal, so it seems like the natural choice. With that in mind you turn from the kiosk and make your way towards the south side of the district.

Going by the map, it shouldn't take you too long to get to the shop, though you are forced to dodge more than one stand owner desperate to drag you over to browse products that you have little interest in. Finally, after pulling yourself away from a vaguely disturbing looking alien trying to sell you 'brain piercings' you find yourself at the entrance to 'Pa'tque's Armor Emporium'.

Sitting in the window are several expensive-looking sets of armor, many of them seeming designed for humanoid species, though you can see one or two sets that are twisted in strange angles, almost as if they were meant for a species without a skeleton or something.

It takes you a few moments to tear your eyes from the strange-looking armor, your curiosity piqued, but as soon as you do you push your way through the door into the shop. A loud tone sounds out as you step inside, though it doesn't hold your attention for more than a second as you look around the store. You're a little surprised to see how small the place is, though before you can dwell on it too much, you're torn from your thoughts by a warbling voice from behind the counter. "Welcome to Pa'tque's Armor Emporium. We're licensed to fabricate armors for over twenty-seven different species, how can I help you today?"

You raise an eyebrow at the greeting as you turn to look at the owner of the voice, blinking in a small amount of surprise as you see a large orangeish-tan alien with four arms staring back at you from behind the counter. "Hi..." You reply, still somewhat dumbfounded, before shaking your head and continuing, "I was wondering if you might be able to repair a seal on my armor?" You ask, making your way towards the shop-keeper as you do so.

The four-armed alien eyes you somewhat curiously, looking you up and down before offering what you think is a shrug. "I'm not sure...I've never seen your kind before, but I doubt it would be too difficult to do so. Of course, if I can't then we also sell maintenance kits...do you happen to have the broken seal with you?"

"Ah, no, I left it in my room, but it's not too far away. I was mostly wondering how much time it would take for you to fix it. I doubt I'll need it right away, but I'd like to get it taken care of sooner rather than later." You reply with a shrug, before continuing, "How much would it cost for the kit and the repair?"

>>Go to the book store first. You've been wanting to get some material on at least basic first-aid for anybody that isn't human, granted it's unlikely that any of them would be in English, but at least you would have them for later.
>>
The shop keeper shrugs again, it's curious gaze not seeming to diminish at all, "Well, I really couldn't say how much it would cost to repair without seeing the armor, but it probably wouldn't be too long, a day or two at most with my current work-load. As for the kit, we sell those for seventy-five credits each. I'd recommend against trying to repair any technologically sensitive areas, such as the power-source or the helmet by yourself unless you have the manual or are qualified to do so yourself, however. It's easy to damage the computers if you're inexperienced."

You raise an eyebrow at the answer, not sure whether the alien is just trying to get you to bring it in for a higher payment or if they're being serious, though you suppose that it does make sense. Still, you have the manual, and it's not like the the seal breaches are inside the helmet, so you should be alright. You're about to just ask for the kit when the shop-keeper speaks up again.

"I'm curious, and I apologize if I offend you, but I have never seen your kind before, though I'll admit it's probably just because I haven't been doing much aside from working since I got here. Do you mind if I ask what species you are?"

The question throws you off, slightly. Up until now you've been used to everybody you've come into contact knowing what you are, though now that you think about it, you suppose that it shouldn't be that surprising. You suppose it wouldn't hurt, and it's not as if you're not curious as to what this person is as well, still you're not entirely sure why they want to know what species you are, unless it's somehow important to their business.

So what are you going to do?
>Might as well introduce yourself. It's not like it would hurt anything, would it?
>Sure, you'll tell them, but only if they tell you what they are first.
>Nah, just get the kit and go, you don't have time for this right now.

[I apologize again for my posting speed. I'll get back in the flow here soon, I hope.]

Deciding that it's not as if it's going to hurt anything to introduce yourself, you shrug, "My name is Jack Yarick. As for why you don't recognize 'my kind', I'd expect it's because I'm one of the humans from the transport that just arrived earlier this week." You explain easily, before casting a curious gaze of your own at the alien as their face scrunches into an odd expression. A vaguely awkward moment passes as the alien looks up up and down a couple more times before their eyes seem to finally light up in recognition.

"Ah, of course! A human, I heard about your kind on the news. So you were one of the ones that got snatched up by the K'tulu then? Shame that happened, but that also means that you were on that transport when it was attacked by pirates right? I heard your people put up a hell of a fight up there! Even managed to handle things before the fleet arrived, yeah?"

You can't help but raise an eyebrow at the sudden change in the alien's demeanor, though you do nod in response, "Well...yeah. I uh...I can't really talk about the whole thing with the K'tulu, but yeah our transport was attacked a little ways out from the planet." You reply slowly, not really sure where else you're going in the conversation.

Apparently, however, that is more than enough as the four-armed shop-keeper grins enthusiastically at the answer, "That's what I thought...well, then you've probably been standing there wondering what the hell I am too, haven't you?"

You offer the shop keeper a shrug at the question before answering, "A little bit, though to tell the truth I was really more interested in getting my armor fixed."

A loud warbling noise erupts from the alien as he looks down at you, causing you to take a couple steps back before you realize that he's apparently amused at your response rather than offended by it, or at least you assume so, given the smile on his face. "Ah, you're honest! I like that, Jack Yarick. Well then, my name is Pa'tque, the owner of this shop, and I am an Avnari. I'm sure the K'tulu have filled your head with plenty of propaganda against my race, but I assure you that only most of it is true." He replies loudly before continuing.

"Now, with that out of the way, about your suit. Like I said before the repair kits are only seventy-five credits, and it's probably a good idea to have one or two handy just in case you find yourself somewhere without an armorer around, but I recommend that you let me take a look at it first. Normally I charge at least a hundred credits for my time plus whatever work I have to do on the suit. But, since you're the first human I've met, and there are probably going to be quite a few in here in the future, it wouldn't help to have some kind of experience with your people's suits. So if you bring it here and have me work on it, I'd be willing to just have you pay the hundred credits and then I'll do whatever work you need for free. How's that sound?"

Well, that was...unexpected. It seems like you're going to get special treatment today, though you doubt that it'll extend beyond this particular instance, still that's quite a discount and it does save you time trying to repair the armor yourself. Do you want to have him work on it or are you going to do it yourself. Either way you could still buy the repair kit if you wanted, like he said it seems like it's a useful thing to have around.

>Might as well. It's only twenty-five credits more than the kit, and it saves you time too. You'll have to bring it down here later though.
>Nah, you'd rather take care of it yourself, just in case you have to do it again later.

Also, do you want to get the repair kit, or an extra one if you decide to fix it yourself?

its shouldn't be that much of a leap in logic, between species, plus this is a quest, so there should be leeway(we did learn how to use a suit by reading a manual) in gaining knowledge.
>>
"I, uh...sure. That works for me, if you're serious." You reply, still somewhat surprised at the offer.

Pa'tque quickly nods with a smile, "Of course, Jack Yarick, I've got to practice on something, and it's only fair that I compensate you for the risk, however slight it may be, you're taking by allowing me to do so."

You can't help but let out a small chuckle at the reply, suddenly realizing why he was so willing to give you a cheap price for his work, though as you remember the suits in the window of the shop you're not overly worried about how it'll turn out. "Alright then, I'll probably bring it here around one tomorrow, if that's alright with you." Upon receiving an enthused nod from the shopkeeper you continue, "Alright, I think that, while I'm here, I'll also go ahead and get one of those repair kits, too. You know, just in case."

"Of course! It only makes sense to do so, after all you never know what might happen here on Velik Leis!" Pa'tque replies, his smile widening further as he turns and grabs one of the kits from the wall behind him. "Will that be all for you...sir?" He asks, slowing towards the end and eyeing you carefully, almost as if he's asking you just as much as he is guessing.

You nod in response as you pull your wallet from your back pocket and hand over your credit chip, "Yep, that'll be it for now."

"Very well then." He replies, quickly scanning your chip and handing it back to you along with your new repair kit in a shopping bag. "Have a nice day, Jack Yarick, and I will look forward to seeing you tomorrow!"

"You too, Pa'tque." You reply, your tongue stumbling slightly over the pronunciation, much to his amusement, as you offer him a small wave before turning to leave the small armor shop.

You do realize that being a doctor on Earth requires an extra decade of school for a reason, as well as recommendations from like all of the people.

We'd have to go to school to practice on, at LEAST, the most common species in the Galaxy, all of which probably have utterly alien anatomy and entirely different physiologists from humans, all of which take a good long time to learn, as we would be starting from scratch. Almost none of our previous experience would be helpful aside from the stuff random guy off the street could probably guess.

Become a Space Doctor is something that happens as an epilogue to the quest Anon, we probably wont get there for a while.

Thankfully, while it did take longer than you originally expected to get in and out of the shop, you still have plenty of time left before you need to get ready for your meeting, though you do figure that you need to plan on getting back your room an hour or so before plan on leaving for it.

So, how do you plan on spending the rest of your time here?

After putting a little bit of thought into it, you decide to head to the book store, figuring that even if they haven't managed to translate all of the books there yet, surely there are at least few of them that have been...hopefully. With that goal in mind you start making your way there, your previous experience with overly-friendly stand owners leading you to stick with the rest of the foot traffic rather than trying to dodge around them like you did on the way to the Pa'tque's.

Thankfully the store you remember seeing on the map at the kiosk wasn't too far away from here and it only takes you a few minutes to find your way there, passing a small handful of what look like restaurants and a bakery on the way. On the outside it doesn't look particularly different than any of the other shops around here, but the moment you step inside you're struck by how completely alien the place looks, at least compared to the book stores you'd see back on Earth.

You can't exactly call the store featureless, though as you look around the boxy durasteel interior that is the first thing that comes to mind, realizing that rather than any bookshelves, or even computers to download the books from, there are only several booths at which various aliens are sitting, apparently helping their customers with their purchases...or at least that's what you assume they're doing, seeing as how there's nothing else here that they could possibly be selling.

Just as you finish taking in your surroundings, you notice a short dark-haired alien with what looks like horns and pointed ears making her way towards you from one of the closer booths. "Hey there! My name is Juula, how can I help you today?" She asks politely, clearly doing her best to avoid staring at you curiously as you can see a couple of the customers doing.

Got called out to help an old boss put up a wall in his house because the people that are going to be doing the ventilation and wiring are going to be there tomorrow. Got over there, got things rolling, and then the air compressor crapped out before we were able to accomplish anything of worth. So not only was time wasted here, it was there, though I suppose I made a little bit of money.

So...yeah. Sorry about the interruption guys, I've got to be there fairly early tomorrow, but I'm going to ride this episode out into a suitable conclusion before I head to bed. Which means I'll probably end up with one or two hours of sleep, but I'm okay with it because I miss doing this, even if I haven't had such a great run so far this episode. Alright, back in the game.

Glancing around the store one more time, you can't help but look skeptically at her, "Well...I'd planned on seeing if I could buy some books, but...suddenly I'm not so sure I'm in the right store."

The small alien in front of you lets out a small giggle, one that she immediately tries to cover up before offering you an apologetic smile, revealing two rows of pointed teeth, "No, you're in the right store, sir. You must be one of the new ones..." She replies perkily, drawing a raised eyebrow from you before she continues, "I can help you at my desk if you'd like to shop for some books. We've got over five-hundred thousand books with approximately two-hundred different translations for most of them. I'm afraid that the amount of books we have with translations that humans can read are significantly lower though. Still, I'd be happy to help you if you'd like!"

Doing your best not to stare at her teeth, or her horns, or the rest of her for that matter, you nod slowly, "Uh...sure, might as well take a look, I guess." You reply, somewhat hesitantly, the girl's bubbly personality reminding you very faintly of Angelicia and Lizzie, only without the punk or childish exterior, though it would appear that your 'attendant' is significantly more composed than either of them could claim to be.

Flashing another tooth-filled smile, the girl turns and motions you over to an empty desk with two chairs facing a monitor, "Vutbla! I'm happy to hear that. If you'll accompany me to my desk we can get started looking over our inventory of books with translations you can read, and narrow it down from there!" She exudes, pausing for a moment as the two of you take your seats and she types something into the monitor's holo-interface, "What languages can you read?" She asks politely over her shoulder.

Shifting somewhat awkwardly at all the stares that you still feel on you, your gaze turns back to Juula at the question, "English and Spanish." You reply quickly, slowly slipping back into your comfort zone despite the odd circumstances.

The strange-looking alien nods happily at your answer before turning back to the monitor and typing in your answer. A few moments later the screen flashes and there are a significantly smaller amount of titles displayed across the monitor. With that done Juula turns back towards you and sits down, gently pulling the hovering display screen across the desk with her. "Alrighty. So, what kind of books are you interested in purchasing from us today, mister..."

Realizing at her prompt that you still haven't introduced yourself to her you blink and extend your hand politely, "Ah, I'm Jack." You reply simply, though you feel as if your introduction falls somewhat flat as you realize that the girl is just staring at your hand curiously, leading you to slowly drop it after she fails to take it a few seconds later.

Juula's gaze travels from your hand back up to your face and she blinks in confusion for a moment before her eyes widen and a blue tint spreads across her orange face, "Oh, I'm so sorry, that was a greeting, wasn't it? I didn't even realize it! There must be something wrong with my translator,or maybe they haven't completely added in all of the data from your...oh maybe that's what the update this morning was supposed to be?"

>>33927858
You can't help but stare at her as she slowly descends into a tangent, unsure whether you should say anything, before finally deciding to step in as she starts trying to explain the differences between her culture and others. "Hey, uh...it's alright, not like it's your fault, and it's not that I don't want to learn about your culture, but unfortunately I'm on a bit of a time limit." You interrupt, trailing off towards the end slightly as your attendant blushes a brighter blue before nodding and offering you another smile.

"Oh, of course, sorry about that. Well then, what kind of books are you interested in today?"

Alright, back on track, good. So what kind of books are you interested in checking out? It probably wouldn't hurt to see if there are any basic first aid and emergency medicine books for other species that you might be able to read. Of course it might also be worth it to see if there are any books on customs and cultures of the most common species in this area...you'd probably be able to find that info on the extranet, but it might be easier to find here. You might also consider seeing if you can find some basic combat manuals...you're sure that Freida and Angelicia would be willing to help train you, and you're not necessarily planning on running into firefights on a daily basis, but it might be better to be safe than sorry in this situation.

So what do you want to buy?

Alrighty. I'm gonna go ahead and start writing. Like I said before, there'll be plenty of chances to come back here if you want to, or at least there should be, at any rate.

"Do you have any biology or basic first aid and emergency care books for ali-ah, I mean species other than humans?" You ask quickly, feeling that it was almost a forgone conclusion that you'd look into that when you walked in here earlier. After all, you're still a doctor, even if you are unlicensed and unqualified to perform any legitimate medical care on anybody other than a human...somehow you doubt that anybody in the situation where they need your help is going to care too much about that little factoid.

Juula raises one of the fringes above her eyes, looking at you somewhat suspiciously for a moment before slowly turning back to the monitor and typing that in, "Well...yes, we do have a couple...our most popular biology book is one that includes diagrams and explanations of common sapient species in the galaxy, and we do have several basic first aid and trauma care texts available for purchase." She says simply before turning her attention away from the screen and back to you, "I'm sorry, but do you mind if I ask why you would want books of this nature? I don't mean to intrude, but it seems like a somewhat strange request."

"Well, I was a ER doctor back on Earth, and I'd kind of like to be again some day." You reply simply, with a shrug, "And it seems like it might be helpful to start with some kind of basic understanding of how other species are put together and how to help them if they're hurt."

The attendant blinks in surprise, almost as if she'd hadn't really expected a real answer from you before nodding with another bright smile, "Oh! Of course, well in that case, I'd be happy to add these to your list. Seeing as how they're all medical texts, and are self-updating they're a little more expensive than most of our other books, Galactic Biology 721 will be a eighty-nine credits, while Basic First Aid for Common Species and Emergency Trauma Care for Galactic Civilizations will be one-hundred-fifteen credits each. Does that sound alright to you?"

You let out a small sigh before nodding your head in confirmation, "Yeah, I suppose that'll be good."

The bubbly girl offers you another sharp-toothed grin as she turns back to the screen and drags the medical texts onto your shopping list, "Vutbla! Is there anything else that you'd be interested in, or will that be it for you today?"

You let the question go unanswered for a few moments as you consider the price of the books you're already getting before deciding that, for the moment at least, you've got plenty of money, and the other book you were thinking of getting would probably be just as helpful as the medical texts. "Well, do you happen to have any books on the customs of some of the other races in this area? I'd rather not have another misunderstanding like earlier if I can avoid it."

Juuna nods enthusiastically at your question, "Of course! I can completely understand that, I've actually got one of the books that we have on here myself, though I haven't gotten around to reading it quite yet. The other books in my collection keep distracting me, and it's kind of hard to find how many ways you can greet an Anytu interesting when you could be reading about how Julta is planning on bending Rara ove-"

You can't help but sit in silent amazement as you realize exactly where Juuna is planning on taking your conversation, though before either you or her can say anything else a loud cough echoes from one of the other attendants across the room, pulling the friendly girl from her explanation before she can get too deep into it.

Juuna blinks in confusion as she turns her gaze away from her screen and looks to her co-worker, before letting out a vaguely annoyed sigh as she realizes what the problem is. "Ah, sorry, Jack, but some of my co-workers are a little more sensitive to those topics than we are, apparently." She mutters, drawing an exasperated sigh from the 'offending' attendant.

You're honestly not sure how to respond to that, though thankfully you don't have to as the bubbly alien in front of you turns her attention back to the task at hand, "Alright, so our most popular book related to cultures is, appropriately enough, Customs and Cultures of Various Galactic Civilizations. It's not self-updating like the others, but it should have everything you need for this sector at least. As for the price...it says it's sixty-five credits. That'll bring your total up to three-hundred-eighty-four credits. Does that sound alright to you?" She asks politely.

Nodding slowly, working through the math in your head, you offer her a small smile of your own, "Yeah, I think that'll be it."

"Alrighty, I'll need your codex tablet and your credit chip, please, and then we can get you on the road!"

You quickly grab your tablet from the small bag you brought with you before digging out your credit chip and handing both of them over to her. "There you go." You mutter quietly, watching her tap the screen of your tablet and start the transfer of the books from the monitor, before scanning your credit chip. Before she can even turn to hand your money back to you, the monitor pings that it has completed the transfer.

Juula smiles at you as she grabs the tablet off her desk and hands it and your chip back to you at the same time, "Okay then, looks like you're good to go, Jack! Is there anything else I can help you with?" She asks in a friendly tone.

You shake your head as you stand up, offering her a smile of your own as she stands with you, "No, I think that I'm pretty good for now. I'm sure I'll be back though, thanks for the help, Juula." You reply easily, grateful for the relatively easy pronunciation of her name compared to the other two aliens you've spoken with at length.

"Vutbla! Then I hope I can see you again some time!" She replies happily, before walking with you to the door as you get ready to exit, "Until then, I hope you have a great day!"

"You too, have a good day." You reply, offering her one more smile before turning and making your way out of the store. It looks like you've still got few hours before your meeting...you figure you probably have time to hit one more shop before heading back to your room and getting ready. The question is whether you want to go ahead and get a decent set of clothes for a business meeting or forgo that in favor of checking out the weapons shop.

So where are you going to go?
>Might as well take care of the clothing situation.
>Go to the weapons shop, after all it's not like you're going into a board meeting or something, right?

Either way this goes, I'm going to try and keep this one short, because I probably do need to get to bed sometime soon. If it wasn't for the interruption I'd planned on getting us to the meeting tonight. Maybe tomorrow though, if I run then.
>>
>>33930340

It doesn't take long for you to decide that while it may be tempting to check out what kind of gear they might have for sale in the weapons shop, you're probably better off making sure that you're actually presentable for whoever this man you're supposed to be meeting is. With that in mind you plunge forward into the chaotic mess of bodies again and make your way further into the district until you finally come to the store you were searching for.

You take a moment or two to observe the various seemingly high-quality business-wear displayed in the window before letting out a sigh and continuing inside, not surprised in the least to find that the interior is decorated lavishly as it displays several different kinds of suits, almost all of them for humanoids. Thankfully, it doesn't take long before you're approached by a very well-dressed thin alien with a vaguely wary smile on it's face, "Hello, Sir, how may I help you today?" He asks quietly, his eyes wandering momentarily towards your pistol before quickly locking back on to your own.

Doing your best to ignore the somewhat strange behavior, you offer him what you hope is a disarming smile before shrugging, "Well, I've got a business meeting later tonight, and I was hoping I might be able to find something more appropriate for it than...well, this." You reply shortly, motioning to your t-shirt as you do so.

A relieved look flashes briefly across the attendant's face before he nods quickly and smiles, "Oh, of course, sir! I would be happy to help you with your needs then." He replies before pausing a moment as he looks over you, before asking cautiously, "You're a Human, yes?"

A tired smile spreads across your face at the question, "Yep, last time I checked I was, anyways." You shoot back, receiving a quick nod from the alien in response.
(Continued in next post)
>>
"Wonderful...well in that case, we have been fortunate enough to find that one of our client's tastes in formal-wear coincides quite well with your own species'. They weren't a perfect match at first, of course, but we've made a few modifications and we believe that they should be in-line with your preferences." The attendant explains as he turns and starts making his way further into the store, motioning you to follow him as he does so.

You're unable to resist raising an eyebrow at that, "That's awfully...convenient." You mutter quietly, though apparently not enough as you hear the alien in front of you let out a small laugh.

"Quite so, sir." He replies shortly, before coming to a stop in front of a small section of the store displaying several different styles of suits, slacks, and vests, as well as their various accessories. "Well then, we only have a few pre-arranged options in stock at the moment, though if you would like we could tailor a suit for you in the future. Of course it wouldn't be ready for your meeting tonight if you wish to do so, but it would still be a worthy investment, in my opinion."

A smirk tugs at your lips at the fairly transparent sales pitch, but you decide to let it go in favor of taking care of business right now. "Well, maybe I'll do that some other time, but right now I think I'll just go ahead and get what you've got in stock." You reply simply.

The attendant nods in response, "Of course sir. So, what do you have in mind? We've got several full suits that would surely fit your needs, of course we also have a few other ensembles prepared. While I can hardly claim to be an expert in human fashion, I've heard that quite a few of the customers that have come in here have chosen to wear a vest in place of a suit jacket, or was that with it, I can't really remember. Of course if neither of those options pique your interest then you could tell me what you want, and I'm sure we can figure something out."

The fast influx of information leaves you silent for a few moments as you, at first struggle to understand everything the alien has said, and then to decide on the options he's offering. They seem pretty straight-forward, honestly. You can choose between a full three-pieced suit, wear a vest in place of a jacket, or you could just say screw and grab a cheap shirt and tie combo.

So what are you going to get.
>Three-pieced suit. Might as well spring for the full suit, though to be honest you can't really say why would need something this formal.
>Go for the vest. You're sure that you'd make a pretty good impression in this, and it would be easier to move around in than the full suit.

You take a few minutes to browse the various sets the store has put together, before finally deciding on a dark-colored set with a vest and a red tie. Before you're even completely sure about your choice, the attendant is once again at your side, "Have you found something that interests you, Sir?" He asks quickly, clearly sensing a sale in progress.

You nod, "Yeah, I think that I'd like to see if I could find a set like this in my size." You reply simply, letting yourself be dragged along through the motions by the attendant. It takes you close to half an hour before the two of you manage to find a size that isn't too big or small for you, but finally you manage it. During the process you manage to find a decent-sized leather backpack, presumably meant for high-class students in casual-wear, and you take the chance to grab it and add it to your suit just before the alien attendant tallies up the price.

"Alright, your suit, with the addition of the bag, will come to exactly five-hundred credits, sir." The attendant tells you politely, sending a small jolt through your body at the cost, though you'd be lying if you said you'd expected anything else.

With a small sigh you dig out your credit chip for the third time today and hand it over, "Alright, here you go."

He smiles brightly at you as he takes the chip and scans it, "Would you like to have your items delivered to you or would you prefer to transport them yourself, sir?" He asks, eyeing you hopefully, though the look falls somewhat as you shake your head.

"No thanks, I think I'll be able to handle it." You answer, grabbing your chip back from him before he can ask about any further charges, drawing a nod and a goodbye from the alien as he leads you from the store.

A sigh of relief escapes you the moment that you leave the store, you can't help but think that you probably just wasted some of your valuable time in there, but at least you got some clothes that you can wear to dinner tonight. With that thought in mind, you turn your attention to making your way back towards the taxi station that you came from. You've only got a few hours until your meeting with this mysterious expedition leader that Angelicia and Reece seem so excited about. You can only hope that it goes better than your last 'adventure' with the two of them.

End of Episode Nine.
>>
Well, not a whole lot got accomplished here today, I apologize for that. I'll be the first to admit that while I somehow didn't see it turning out that way in my mind, the clothing was a complete waste of time that would have been better served off screen, but it's done now. In the next session we'll finally get to meet the expedition leader, and decide if we want to have anything to do with him.

Hopefully this episode can mostly be chalked up to me getting back into the flow of things, and surely things will pick back up soon. Either way as long as I've got people that want to play then I'll run the quest.

As of now I can't promise when the next episode will be. I was planning on running again tomorrow or on Thursday, but with getting called in to help that guy out I can't promise anything right now. I'll probably stick around for a few minutes if there are any questions you guys want to ask, but aside from that I'm gonna head to bed.
