Peasant Quest Part 13: New York, New York.

Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/5PdCKbwc

QM Twitter: https://twitter.com/HeliosQM

The story so far (Ignore 2A) : http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=peasant+quest

Thanks to Anon for the new OP image. Love it.

It is the winter of 1938, you remain mostly ignorant of the turmoil about to engulf the globe.
You and your progeny have made it to New York and taken up residence in an abandoned hospital, the guests of the Byzantine vampire scholar, Domitius.

Whilst you have a home of sorts, your position is precarious. The city and its inhabitants remain mostly unknown to you and your arrival was less than discreet. It remains to be seen what kind of reception you can expect. Furthermore, your sarcophagus remains in the hands of the police, it has considerable sentimental and material value and certain parties may draw unwelcome conclusions from studying the engravings you had carved upon it.
Your grasp of Chronomancy is increasing and you can attempt to unlock a new ability (details on character sheet).

You have just awoken for the night in the bowels of the old hospital. Your hunger is sated and you will not need to feed for a few nights. Your progeny are at your side and Domitius seems eager to help you any way he can.
What do you do for the evening?
>>
>>33866674
Well, let's set about obtaining our own home base of sorts, then we can work on obtaining our sarcophagus
>>
>>33866674
Or, while it's slow, we can give learning Banish a shot? That way no real decisions are made
>>
>>33866760
>>33866674

Just how large is this hospital? Domitius only seems to be using a very small part of it, we might as well investigate setting up here.
>>
>>33866674
Go to some wild parties. Leave the kids behind.
>>
>>33866872

Just an FYI. The anomalies from very low rolls on trying to learn banish are quite severe. A roll of less than 10 will effectively change the setting into something more.... surreal and post-apocalyptic.
>>
>>33866897
>Just how large is this hospital?

10 floors above ground, 2 basement levels. More than 150 rooms.
>>
>>33866947
>A roll of less than 10 will effectively change the setting into something more.... surreal and post-apocalyptic.
Awesome, i wonder what crit fail would do
>>
Decision in 8 mins. Best argument (that the PC would reasonably make) wins.
>>
>>33866674
I think would should get our coffin then gain power through the city by blackmailing and threatening the rich and powerful
>>
>>33866977
Lets discuss with Domitius about ways to move our sarcophagus, and where we might put it.

We should get our coffin quickly. If we leave it, it's only a matter of.. time.. before someone is tipped off, especially since those sun warrior guise are still around, they'll probably have people in deep throughout the world in major port cities. Also, if we plan on feeding and somebody finds our corpses, that coffin might let them narrow it down to a "vampire" cult meaning an abandoned hospital might be searched first over a crackhouse or wahtever.
>>
>>33867049
We should scout out where our sarcophagus is by using time stop. After that we should get to know some of the more important figures and try to befriend them.
>>
>>33867108
We should continue to expose our progeny to time stop as well, so eventually we wont have to carry them around.
>>
>>33867049

We send the kids out to recover our sarcophagus. They're a resourceful pair and it's a good opportunity for them to prove themselves. (It worked for Lacroix in Bloodlines, sorta.)

Whilst they are away we pick Domitius brain for useful bits of lore and see about moving into the hospital permanently. With enough time, money and connections it might be possible to get it up and running again. Owning a hospital would be a tremendous boon to us.
>>
>>33867141
Why couldnt we just go to a running hospital and take control of that? Shouldnt be too hard
>>
>>33867141
I don't really trust them not to fuck it up. Maybe Al, but he's still inexperienced with his powers.

You command Albrecht and Yasmin to search for your sarcophagus and retrieve it if feasible to do so. You make it clear to them that they need to be discreet and ideally leave no overt signs of supernatural activity. You give them a considerable amount of cash to assist them.

After they have left you turn to Domitius and express an interest in his studies. From the conversation that follows you quickly establish that he knows a great deal about the second generation of vampires and the mythology surrounding Kassa, who he knows as Mother. He also seems to have a solid understanding of vampire society both locally and historically.

What would you like to ask him?
>>
>>33867492
Ask him about the locals first.
>>
>>33867492
Local vampire society

Names, ages, interests
>>
>>33867492
Is there anyone in control of this territory. Also if he know where Kassa resting place is
>>
>>33867549
If I recall correctly, shes buried in a tomb under some mountains in Carpathia or something
>>
>>33867619
Yeah we know that but thats over 1000km long
>>
>>33867549

Each of the 5 boroughs of New York has it's own 'ruler'.

Manhattan is ruled by a vampire named Janek, he is around 300 years old. Ambition led him to the new world as in the old he was just another fledgling under an elder's thumb. He has a great many local progeny all of whom are very young and effectively controls the local organized crime from behind the scenes. His 'court' also has cordial relations with a local cabal of mystics, who have representation there and are consulted on matters of import.

>>33867549
>Also if he know where Kassa's resting place is.

In the Carpathian Mountains. Uldin placed some kind of ward there that prevents vampires from finding it or even recalling it's exact location. Though its effect is much reduced on mortals. He employs more conventional methods to keep it hidden from them.
>>
>>33867992

Is there anything further you wish to ask of him?

If not, what do you want to do?
>>
>>33868138
Maybe some introductions are in order, if he can arrange them?
>>
>>33868138
I thought you were going to inform us of the other leaders of the boroughs. Ask him about the police and how tight things are around here.
>>33868168
Also, this
>>
>>33868138
What about the other leaders?
>>
Brooklyn is somewhat controversial; no vampire seems to be able to hold it for long. Those who try often disappear or are killed. The borough is believed to have a large number of mortals who are ready, willing and able to combat vampires. It is currently claimed by a young English vampire named Mark Cowley, though Domitius believes he is likely already destroyed as he has not been heard from in some time.

Queens is held by Eveline, a granddaughter of Siduri. She is between 200 and 300 years old and acts more as a 'president for life' than a monarch. She puts on a very convincing show of acting in the people's best interests, whether she actually does or is simply adept at manipulation Domitius is unsure. She is very popular in Queens and has many mortal allies.

The Bronx has no real leader, packs of squabbling fledglings fight for control and no one vampire has proven strong or cunning enough to unify or subjugate them. However they will band together to fight off outsiders who seek to 'invade' their home.

Staten Island is held by an unnamed elder vampire. Domitius suspects that they are roughly the same age and that from accounts he has heard he is one of 'The Five'. The first sons of Ankou, all from the same party of questing knights who sought to destroy him in the second crusade but were turned instead. He holds the entire borough as his personal domain, no other vampires reside there.
>>
>>33868168
>Maybe some introductions are in order, if he can arrange them?

With a hint of snobbery, Domitius informs you that he is not on good terms with any of the so called ‘rulers’ or in truth any of the native vampires. He believes them to be arrogant children.

Likewise the locals do not like elders on principle, most of the vampires here came to the new world to escape the influence of elders and their machinations.
>>
>>33868932
Let's go pay a visit to Eveline. We're a friend of her mother so she may be more accommodating.
>>
>>33868985
Yes, I agree. She has many allies, so maybe she can introduce us to some potential clients
>>
>>33868985
Honestly, I'd rather avoid these "ruler" types.

I think the far more interesting choice is to pay Staten Island a visit.
>>
>>33869019

I agree, revealing ourself to 'society' might not be the best idea.

Although I have the sneaking suspicion that 'The Five' may now be a four given how the guy we killed in Casablanca was dressed.
>>
Best argument wins.

Decision at 22:32
>>
>>33869203
So the decision now is, do we want to directly associate with the current ruling vampires here?

The way I see it, we are personally to busy with the Kassa situation and in growing our own power to directly govern an area. However our progeny are too unlearned to rule for us.

Maybe the best situation here would be to head over to the Bronx and claim it to get our feet wet. With time our kids will become competent enough we can mostly leave it to them.

Very well, I'll relent and switch to this:
>>33869019
He does have a point, we may need to stay somewhat incognito. Hopefully this guy isn't a dick like the rest of ankous people and we may be able to get some favors from him
>>
>>33869251

The Bronx is probably the most dangerous to us and ours. It's unlikely any vampire here can challenge us, but organized groups of human vampire hunters could really cause trouble.
>>
>>33869264
But do we attempt to claim an area with a existing ruler, or do we just go there to pay a visit to the lone vampire there?

The Bronx seems like the obvious starting point, but being on good terms with the loner might be advantageous too
>>
>>33869329
My bad, got The Bronx confused with Brooklyn.

>>33869343
I think we should just stay where we are now. We don't really NEED a territory, just a base to chill when we're done doing vampire shit. I thinkwe should meet with this ankou knight and make some sort of accordance. We're not on the best of terms and getting this guy to help us while we maybe help him will improve things, I'm sure. Also, if he's not in the loop with everyone else, then we don't really have a reason to fear a raid if things go smoothly. That's how I see it, anyways
>>
>>33869434
I agree that we don't ourselves need a territory, however our undeath has a greater purpose than just living forever. It seems most vampires are fond of living either pampered lives, or violent lives.

Maybe we should speak to our firstborns and see if territory is even something they might want. They need hobbies too, afterall.
>>
There seems to be a vague consensus of going to Staten Island and saying hello. Going with that.
>>
>>33869515
I'm ok with this
>>
>>33869495
Well, the quest is called Peasant Quest. We didn't exactly start off rich and our guy is kind of modest and humble.
>>
>>33869573
I think so as well.

I don't see the MC ever becoming some kind of lord of new york, maybe one of our progeny would do that. I see the MC as more of a wanderer.
>>
You decide to head over to Staten Island and make contact with the vampire that resides there. By all accounts he is the most powerful and least connected, revealing yourself should have few repercussions.
After making yourself presentable and some instruction from Domitius, you hail a cab to take you to Staten Island. It doesn’t take too long for you to begin to feel the presence of the borough’s sole occupant, their relative strength makes it stand out clearly. You direct the driver to it.
You pull up to a large, dilapidated townhouse with the windows boarded up and leave the cab behind. The presence is within.

An old man is seemingly waiting for you at the open door, beckoning you to come inside. As you draw closer to him, you realise with little surprise that the man is in fact a disguised animate corpse. The cadaver leads you upstairs, where the interior walls and ceiling have been knocked through, making the 1st and 2nd floors a single large chamber.
A familiar scene confronts you, the room is dominated by a makeshift throne upon which sits a skeleton, although this time Ankou’s presence does not radiate from it. Attending the throne like a macabre steward is a vampire. A well-built man dressed in modest outdoor clothing, in one hand he carries a longsword sheathed in its scabbard. He gives you a curt, yet respectful nod when you enter.

What do you do?
>>
>>33870213
"I have just arrived in this land, and wished to introduce myself. I have met your sire, and hope to maintain a good standing relationship with all our kin. I may seek to claim territory in this country, would you have objections to that?"
>>
>>33870321
>all our kin
That sounds kind of lame looking at it, we couldnt possibly hope to be friends with EVERYONE

maybe change that to "as much of our kin as possible"
>>
>>33870365
Yes, I agree.
Also, ask him his ambitions and if we could help him at all
>>
>>33870321
>>33870365
>I have just arrived in this land, and wished to introduce myself. I have met your sire, and hope to maintain a good standing relationship with as much of our kin as possible. I may seek to claim territory in this country, would you have objections to that?

The man responds in an unusual Germanic accent.

"The country is of little concern to me. I maintain my privacy but have no interest in the local politics."

“Come, let us speak somewhere more comfortable.”

He lays down his sword at the foot of the throne, with the hilt facing the skeleton then leads you up a ladder to the attic.

A large portion of the roof has collapsed and is open to the sky. Beneath the opening a few chairs have been positioned to take advantage of the view of the city. Your host takes a seat in one of them and gestures for you to join him.

“My father told me you would likely make your way here, I take it the so called ‘ghost ship’ that arrived in the harbour was your doing?”

He seems amused.

“It has the locals in an uproar.”
>>
>>33870882
It was not intended to happen that way, but it works all the same. I'll be cleaning up that mess shortly. Tell me, what brought you here?
>>
>>33870882

What do you do?
>>
>>33870940
Yes, this
also, a perfect follow up would be to ask if he needs any help or such
>>
Forgot they weren't here, disregard.
>>
>>33870940
>It was not intended to happen that way, but it works all the same. I'll be cleaning up that mess shortly. Tell me, what brought you here?

"Do not be in too much of a hurry, it breaks the monotony."

He pauses, catching himself.

“Where are my manners, I am Hugh de Croÿ. Welcome.”
“As to my purpose, my father is nurturing a great war, the largest yet I suspect. My presence here is a part his design. Though in truth I have little to do, it is a patient and subtle undertaking.”

He sighs wearily

“Mostly, I amuse myself watching the young ones play at being kings and queens and keep this island free of interlopers.”

>ask if he needs any help or such

"I appreciate the gesture, but it is difficult enough to keep myself busy, let alone another. Perhaps I should ask the same of you."
>>
>>33871405
I honestly can't think of anything else I want to talk to this guy about.

I suppose we bid him farewell and wish him luck in his and his sire's endeavor. Perhaps ask if he has any questions for us before we do that?
>>
>>33871520
Although he doesn't much seem like the kind of person who would care enough to want to ask us questions. Forget that I think.
>>
>>33871405
"I believe if seeing breaks in the monotony, I will be amusing you quite a bit in the coming years. I thank you for your hospitality."

Other than that, I don't know.
>>
>>33871609
Jesus I butchered that shit. "If you like seeing breaks in the monotony"

We need more players, I am not good enough at this lol.
>>
>>33871405
Go to Queens and see Siduri's daughter.
>>
>>33871702
No.
>>
>>33871727
Why not?
>>
>>33871757
We already established coming here to remain incognito... What would be the point of going to her then. She's most probably one of the most important people in five points
>>
>>33871609
>If you like seeing breaks in the monotony, I will be amusing you quite a bit in the coming years. I thank you for your hospitality.

"Hah. I am glad to hear it. If you ever want to put the fear into the local upstarts. Call upon me."

He turns to the view of the city and points to Manhattan. A large fire looks to have started and smoke is billowing into the sky.

"You keep your promises it seems."

What do you do?
>>
>>33871806
Head there quickly, of course.
>>
>>33871799
Siduri's the one that sent us here in the first place. She probably has contacts that will be useful for us, and might be willing to share her resources due to us being her mother's friend.
>>
>>33871702

She's her granddaughter.
>>
>>33871806
"That would be my personal effects arriving, I apologize, but we must part for now. I may call upon you for some destruction in the near future, if it would amuse you."
>>
>>33871806
Aw shit, is that our children fucking up? Better head over there.
>>
>>33871869
they may or may not be fucking up. fires are excellent distractions to steal stuff in.
>>
>>33871900
>>33871869
>>33871851

"That would be my personal effects arriving, I apologize, but we must part for now. I may call upon you for some destruction in the near future, if it would amuse you."

You quickly depart, satisfied that your meeting was relatively friendly.

On your way back to the hospital, you notice police and fire department vehicles racing in the same direction and a general air of panic on the streets.
When you reach the hospital, you discover that a van has been concealed inside the old stables on the hospital grounds.

Back in the basement, your sarcophagus sits safely in the morgue. Albrecht stands stiffly as if at attention and Yasmin lounges on one of Domitius seats looking pleased with herself. Both appear slightly singed. Domitius is examining the carvings with great interest, so fascinated that he doesn’t appear to have noticed your return.

Albrecht speaks,

“We have recovered your property father. The holding cells in the police building were overcrowded, we were able to create a riot amongst the prisoners, then a fire. In the chaos it was trivial to complete our mission.”

How do you respond?
>>
>>33872358
Not very inconspicuous, but at least they completed the task. Good job, but try better next time.
>>
>>33872358
You have done well without having full control of your ability. The diversions were fantastic.
>>
>Scholar paying close attention to the carvings on our coffin.

We should probably do something about his.
>>
>>33872587
Yeah, probably. Is there something we can throw over it? Some sheets or something.
>>
>>33872429
>>33872531

You congratulate your progeny on a job well done, it's a relief to have the casket back in your possession. You've grown unusually attached to it.

You can hear Domitius muttering to himself as he examines the carvings.

"Remarkable, they are almost identical to the reliefs in the temple..."

You are about to say something to him when Albrect says

"There is one other thing...."

He looks at Yasmin, she speaks,

"I.... may have killed another vampire."

"May have!" replies Albrecht, "You twisted off his head and threw it into a burning building."

"He was rude to us and disrespectful to father, not to mention that he was trying to stop us taking the coffin."

They both look to you.

What do you do?
>>
>>33872967
Just mutter, "shit" and then move to cover up the coffin while asking domitius where a good place to hunt is
>>
>>33872967
What did he say about me, and do you know who it was or who he was acting on behalf of?

I do not condone killing our own kind unless you absolutely have to. I have done so in the past and it can be more complicated than it seems.
>>
We should consider taking the Bronx, becoming some sort of immortal slum lord.
>>
>>33872967
Ask if they know who they killed.
>>
>>33872967
We should probably mention something about how vampires tend to (or at least seem to) work on an economy of favors rather than more traditional forms of wealth in most circumstances and that killing our kind recklessly will likely make them some enemies, namely those who that vampire owed favors.
Of course, they shouldn't have to worry about it too much, there are few who would pick a fight with one of our generation without serious backing.
>>
>>33873099
I would like to discuss with Albrecht and Yasmin about it before we move to take any land.

If control of a territory is something THEY desire, then it may be worth it as something to keep them busy. As was said earlier though, the general vampire populace will not care for us at first. They moved here to escape the elders.

I imagine they just see us as another old vampire trying to control everyone. That's not really what we are about. So getting control of an area without violence is preferred, but may be difficult. We would need to do something to earn their respect to truly rule it, otherwise we end up like Hugh and only lord over humans, since we would of had to kill all the vampires there.
>>
>>33873029
>What did he say about me, and do you know who it was or who he was acting on behalf of?

"He said that your coffin now belonged to 'The Mighty Janek' and that you would have to be punished for trespassing on his domain and killing his flock and so on and so forth. He was creating a scene, so I shut him up."

Albrecht chimes in,

"We can only assume he works for 'Janek'. Presumably someone with some authority here."

"And that he was pathetic." adds Yasmin.

"We were not followed here, but I cannot be certain that the killing went... unobserved." Says Albrecht hesitantly.

What do you do?
>>
>>33873387
Stop ignoring us and cover the god damned coffin
>>
>>33873387
COVER THE COFFIN ALREADY
For real, lol.

Anyway, looks like we get to go pay this Janek a visit and straighten things out. I assume it's nearly daybreak. Let's take our kids to another area and try to teach them some chronomancy, they may need to make use of it soon. Then tomorrow night, we move out.
>>
>>33873418

There does not seem to be anything you could use to cover it up with in the vicinity. It is rather large.

Furthermore, Domitius seems to have already gotten a good look at it before you arrived back here.
>>
>>33873478
This is a good plan, I agree
>>
>>33873483
Can we sink it in to the ground or something?

That's something we can do, no?
>>
>>33873292
The Bronx is a bunch of quarreling gangs. We swoop in and quash a few of the local leaders, some real shock-and-awe stuff, emerging from the shadows and ripping out spines, that kind of stuff. At the same time we get the underlings to go out into the area, spread rumors about what we are, tall tales about what we can do. Pretty soon everyone will be fucking terrified of the being that stalks those who stalk in the dark. We'll have our own district in no time.
>>
>>33873553
I think this idea is retarded, mostly because our character wouldn't even want to do this. He just wants to find his gril.
>>
>>33873585
Shit man, no matter how timid and meek someone is, you'd think that becoming what is literally the second most powerful being on the entire planet would give them a spark of ambition.
>>
>>33873527
We're on the basement level of the hospital, and the floor is concrete, IIRC.
Pretty sure the sarcophagus is bigger than the tubs full of dirt that Domitius keeps.

>>33873553
That would just make us a boogeyman, not the lord of the bronx.
Also there are other vampires that have likely already claimed that area.
Your plan has no actual benefit for anything other than terrifying mortals, which gets us nothing.
>>
>>33873553

We could do the same to Manhattan. Seems we are already going to have to deal with Janek, who appears to be an asshole. We could step into the vacuum his disintegrating carcass will shortly create.

Yeah, but, he doesn't need a whole fucking borough to become that. Brooklyn is big, trust me, I was born there.

Yeah, good point. Would be much simpler to just freeze time, crawl into his stomach feet first, then unfreeze time, and watch as they recoil in horror as their leader explodes.
>>
>>33873629
>>33873636
>>33873664
>>33873696

How about this. We dust Janek and any overly resistant minions in a big display of 'shock and awe' in his own centre of power.
We usurp whatever infrastructure he's created and take his place.
We give Hugh a call and ask if he wants to be sherrif of Manhattan, cause hell it's clear he has nothing better to do.
We make Domitius our court scholar, get some open minded lawyers to start acquiring businesses, land etc on our behalf so we have the means to make some money and suddenly we are the bonafide king of Manhattan.
>>
>>33873799
I seriously hope this Janek isnt the diplomatic type. We haven't had a good fight in, ever.
>>
>>33873799
This will be a good time to test out these cuhrayzee new powers we have. Better get SSS rank when we kick his ass.
>>
>>33873799
I feel like if we do that, then there will be a shit ton more work and we wont get any power training done. Also, QM will probably make us manage all our shit and it'll just be a hassle if we take over. I think just killing another "vampire lord" out of the blue is out of character, they didn't know who our children were when they came to take it, they probably thought they were some fags trying to steal it as well.
>>
>>33873387
Ask Domitius about the mystics Janek has.
>>
>>33873881
Yeah, I definitely don't want this to turn in to Vampire Governor Quest. We will go see him with good intentions.

>>
>>33873799
That's assuming we can dust Janek and any of the members of his court who decide to attack us.
Keep in mind, while our power is relatively high and increasing somewhat quickly, we're still a bit weaker than a second gen.
I mean, he probably isn't very old or powerful and it's definitely in the realm of possibility, but committing to a plan when we have no real knowledge of our enemy or their capability isn't a good idea.

I don't really like the plan, besides.

But...the whole point of coming to this city was to establish ourselves as it's lord?
>>

>Ask Domitius about the mystics Janek has.

Domitius informs you to the best of his knowledge, he doesn't 'have' any mystics perse. A small group of them reside in Manhattan and one of them is usually present in Janek's 'court' acting as an ambassador. They are entirely independant.

As to what they are capable of, Domitius does not know. Though Janek appears to fear them.
>>
>>33873967

Janek's 300 years old tops according to QM

Thats pretty much a toddler vs Mike Tyson. If the toddler had arthritis and Tyson was riding a trained polar bear.
>>
>>33873990
We should seek them out. Maybe they're the power behind the throne.
>>
>>33874054
Well, Peasant Quest can literally flip trains. He's more like an aphid compares to us. I'm more concerned he has other powers that we might not be able to resist.
>>
>>33874096

Reading between the lines abit, I'd be willing to bet Janek is only ruler of Manhattan because 300 years old is a big deal here.

Domitius looks like he probably sticks to his books and Hugh just sits on Staten Island watching vampire big brother so theyre out of the game.

I reckon the mages are our only real concern in Manhattan and they might be quite happy to deal with us rather than Janek.
>>
>>33874271
I understand that. If we move to talk with him and take him out, they will most likely know about it and set a trap. What do we do against an enemy we know nothing about? We should tread lightly before making our move. Test the waters.
>>
Decision time gents, best argument in 5 mins.

From my previous post,
Anyway, looks like we get to go pay this Janek a visit and straighten things out. I assume it's nearly daybreak. Let's take our kids to another area and try to teach them some chronomancy, they may need to make use of it soon. Then tomorrow night, we move out.

So, have some bonding time with the little ones, then head out to show them how civil beings handle matters, and worse case, show them what a fucking badass we are by annihilating some dickheads.

I say we simply lay low and train with our kin, teaching them to control themselves and find their limit, gaining knowledge with domnitus, sparring with him in wits. After getting situated, we should make our move. We should have somewhere to formally call home before anything happens
>>
>>33874335
Despite being a demigod, we'd probably be more likely to rule from the shadows. If we can confront Janek and make him realize that its in his best interest to work for us, then things will be just peachy. If not, then we can always punch his head off. Either way, we'll be a little closer to finding our vampiric waifu.
>>
>>33874335

I say wildcard, we try and learn banish. Have the kids sit in to learn what they can. Chronomancy is something unique to us, we should make the most of it.
>>
>>33874335
Try to meet up with these mystic guys. We know pretty much nothing about them. Knowledge is power and all that.
>>
>>33874335
Shock and awe, it works historically.

Strut in find the optimal location, make it ours and fuck anyone who says otherwise.

Time to pay Janek a visit...
>>
>>33874653

You consult Domitius as to where Janek holds court, he directs you to a private members club on the lower east side. It is within walking distance.

You bid Albrecht and Yasmin accompany you, both for their benefit and a little backup.
When you reach the club it is clear that there are many people in attendance from the number of cars outside. There are two doormen, both young vampires attempting to look imposing in dark suits and sunglasses. They both appear to have pistols beneath their jackets.

When you approach the entrance, they bar your way.

“Invitation only”

Neither appears to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

What do you do?
>>
>>33874836
Pause time and simply walk in
>>
>>33874883

You lack the ability to open the door whilst time is stopped. At this point you can only move/manipulate other Chronomancy capable individuals whilst time is stopped.
>>
>>33874836
Tell Janek that the Sarcophagus has arrived.
>>
>>33874931
I thought it was like an open club door thing they normally do, okay.
>>33874944
Yeah, do this, sure
>>
>>33874931
Can we can just store an action to just jump through door right?
>>
>>33874836
"im expected, children. now, please move out of my way."
>>
>>33874971
Our children can't because we decided to go straight here instead of teaching them
>>
>>33874931
Open the door and while they're reacting freeze time.
>>
>>33874994
Well the posts he linked while saying he was writing both mentioned teaching them. I only assume Helios thinks it unnecessary right now
>>
>>33874944
>Tell Janek that the Sarcophagus has arrived.

"Ain't no Janek here."

>Im expected, children. now, please move out of my way.

"Get a load of this guy. No invitation, no getting in. Now scram."

You are astonished that these two cannot at least sense how much older and stronger you are and show you some degree of deference.

>Open the door and while they're reacting freeze time.

You pull your children through the door whilst time is stopped and head into the main hall.

It is a poor court to be sure, the hall is crowded with a mix of the living and the undead. The man you presume to be Janek sits sprawled on a raised throne of sorts, flanked by more young vampires in dark suits with guns.

Alone on a small table with a glass of water sits an elderly living woman, her aura has a strong, prickly quality to it, this must be the mage.

The rest of the room is crowded with tables bustling with humans and vampires, all seem to be facing Janek, none among them seem remarkable.

Time is still frozen, what do you do?
>>
>>33875181
Place our children out of the way, in a corner somewhere. Stand off to the side of Janek, far enough away where he wont feel like he's about to be killed when we unfreeze time, hopefully out of sight of the others. Behind a wall or something? Call out to him for a moment of his time
>>
>>33875181
Set the children out of sight, go about 5 feet from Janek, unfreeze time and introduce our self.
>>
>>33875181
Politely greet the elderly lady.
>>
>>33875253
Woops. replace his with her.
>>
>>33875253
>>33875282

You put your progeny down in the corner at the opposite end of the hall from janek. The room is one large open chamber so there isnt really anywhere to hide.

You stand a few feet before Janek's throne and unfreeze time.

"Good evening, my name is Anon. I'm here to introduce myself."

It takes a moment for everyone to react, then shrieks of suprise and expressions of shock and suprise take shape. The men in suits begin to draw their guns.

Janek shouts,

"What the fuck!?"

"Who are you, how did you do that?"

What do you do?
>>
>>33875517
Just repeat ourselves. "Good evening, my name is Anon. I'm here to introduce myself."
then add
"Your bouncers were unwelcoming, and said I was not expected, however I knew that to not be true. So I let myself in, I apologize for startling you."
>>
>>33875517
>"Who are you, how did you do that?"

I am anon and easily.

P.S. We really should get a name.
>>
>>33875517
Tell him you can teleport. It's one of your powers. Ask to be introduced to the mystic.
>>
>>33875625
In my headcanon he is called Kainan

>>33875667
Pfft, tell her nothing
>>
>>33875744
Janek is a dude.
>>
>>33875744
Better then anon.
>>
>>33875783
I have no idea why I got that confused. Doing too many things at once, forgive me.
>>
>>33875592
>Just repeat ourselves. "Good evening, my name is Anon. I'm here to introduce myself."
then add
>"Your bouncers were unwelcoming, and said I was not expected, however I knew that to not be true. So I let myself in, I apologize for startling you."

He does not seem impressed.

"Just who the fuck do you think you are!? You come into my town without my say so, now just pop up in my face like a jack in the box..."

A shout interrupts him,

"Thats them! They're the ones who took the coffin and she's the one that did in Lenny!"

One of the goons in suits is pointing at Yasmin and Albrecht, who are quite visible even at the rear of the hall.

"Ahh so thats why you're here." Sneers Janek

"To hand over those two to face justice and return my box to me. Well where is it?"

What do you do?
>>
>>33875874
"Well, those two are my progeny. They are here because I brought them here, and for no other reason. That 'box' however, you seem to be confused about. It is a very personal item of mine, I had it shipped here. I sent them to retrieve it, and they were a tad reckless."

"Which brings me here, I wish to apologize for the death of your subordinate, and to make my presence in this country known to you."
>>
>>33875874
Ask to be introduced to mystic lady.
>>
>>33876030
Eventually I would like to, we should probably calm him down first. We did just break in to his club after all
>>
>>33875958
>Well, those two are my progeny. They are here because I brought them here, and for no other reason. That 'box' however, you seem to be confused about. It is a very personal item of mine, I had it shipped here. I sent them to retrieve it, and they were a tad reckless.

>Which brings me here, I wish to apologize for the death of your subordinate, and to make my presence in this country known to you.

He throws up his hands.

"You want to apologise! Your bitch kills one of my boys, you crash my club, make me look like a fool in front of everyone and you want to apologise!"

"Too late for apologies buddy, but I tell you what. You give me the bitch, eye for an eye, and the box as payment for my troubles and I let you get the fuck out of my town."

What do you do?
>>
>>33876231
We use our pause time thing to take their guns going in and out of time, then ask him again.
>>
>>33876231
"I came here to show my children how leaders solve there problems. In a civil manner. You are not a leader, are you?"

Pause time, walk to the door, unpause, open it, and pause again.

We will walk the mystic out of the room and then begin asskickings. Leave him for last, in case he wants to surrender.
>>
>>33876231

Why are we wasting our time talking to this guy. The hell with introductions, say hello to the old lady and ask if she's on his side in any way.

Ignoring Janek's tantrum, you walk up to the old lady and politely introduce yourself.

She responds in kind, thanking you for your courtesy.

When you ask if she is at all 'on Janek's side' she informs you that she is entirely neutral and in her capacity as a representative of her group, she will not become involved in any of 'your kind's' internal disputes.

Janek continues to rant and many of his men are pointing their guns at you.
