Characters and Gunpla: http://pastebin.com/e16JZdXs

You are JACK FOULKE, an amateur Gunpla Fighter with dreams to make your own mark on the Gunpla battle scene!

Currently, you were having yet another practice in preparation for your battle against Team Noscope later today. You were trying to get a better feel for the enhanced performance of your new Jesta Juggler. Already, you can feel that it's much faster and more responsive than your old GM, yet literally controls the same, which makes sense, since the Jesta was derived from the GM.

"Focus, Jack!" You hear Karen's voice as her Overflag charges at you. Sure, the blades were blunted to prevent any damage, but you didn't want to get hit by those, regardless.

You decide not to break your Trans Am just yet, and you know that Karen had a huge advantage in a melee, so you start boosting backwards to give yourself some extra time to aim your beam rifle. It was a much simpler, smoother process, especially with all the SOPMOD upgrades the Jesta's beam rifle came with.

You score a hit, but your beam hits and deflects off of the Overflag's left blade. You see the blade is still intact, but glowing a bright orange as it's superheated, temporarily making it more vulnerable to damage. You can see Karen subtly shift her stance so that her right blade is up front instead. You know that the next few seconds were crucial, as her offensive ability was halved with her left blade temporarily out of commission.

Unfortunately, at this point, she's too close to risk another beam shot. You prepare to discard your rifle and draw your beam saber...

Karen tries to meet your beam saber with her right blade, but you already know where her weak point is. You launch a flashbang from your hip mounted grenade launchers. Sensing a flashbang launch, your optical sensors automatically shut off for a brief second to protect you from the flash, but Karen is not so lucky. The Overflag hesitates as both its optic sensors and Karen's eyes are blinded. A quick tap on your thrusts puts you on Karen's left and you swipe your beam saber down. Karen only has time to bring up her left blade in an attempt to block, but your beam saber shears through the still weakened blade and slams right into the Overflag's shoulder joint right under the neck. Rather than complete the swing and cleave the Overflag in two, you immediately switch off your beam saber and pull back. Karen knows that the fight is already over, and powers down her gunpla.

"You're getting better at this." Karen says, a hint of pride in her voice.

"Yeah, but in the coming battle, I'm going to be dodging bullets, not swords." You sigh.

"In the end, is there really any difference between the two?" Karen laughs. "If you can dodge a sword, you can dodge a bullet, too."

"I guess you have a point there." You grin.

"Anyways, aren't you going to test your Trans Am?" Karen asks.

While it was tempting to acclimate yourself to the new system, you were afraid of something going wrong, especially with the fight against Noscope later today.

"All right, here goes!" You say, hitting your Trans Am activation key.

Immediately, your Jesta emit green particles everywhere as the GN Drive begins expelling its stored energy. As a side effect, your Gunpla's armor glows a bright red. You check your status readings and see your power levels going off the scale.

While you're at it, you also activate the Trans Am systems on your Balls as well, and they similarly begin to glow bright red.

Time to see what your Jesta could do.

You feel the NEED. The NEED FOR SPEED. You crank your throttle up as far as it can possibly go and your Jesta boosts forward, generating a mini sonic boom as it goes. Your Balls follow as well, easily keeping pace with your Jesta. You realize almost too late that your gunpla is about to fly off the table limits and make a hard turn, and your Jesta literally does a full 180 back.

Okay, take note, even with the increased speed, your maneuverability was not affected. Or, in fact, you swear that your maneuverability actually improved in Trans Am! Even at these blinding speeds, your Jesta could literally turn on a dime, puling off multiple changes in direction in a matter of seconds. Your Balls also easily follow your movements, as well.

Finally, you hear a warning siren as your GN Particles are finally expended. The red glow fades away. All your energy readings warn you that your reserves were critically low, which was impacting your Jesta's performance significantly.

Yeah, it was definitely something you shouldn't use lightly. You had to be sure you would achieve your objective with Trans Am, or you were essentially a sitting duck afterwards.

>Jesta gains +1 Agility and Jack gains +1 Initiative!

"Impressive." Karen says. "With that kind of speed, I doubt even the Zabanya's attacks could touch you."

"Assuming the Zabanya doesn't have its own Trans Am." You sigh.

"True." Karen concedes. "Come on, lunch period is almost over."

With that, Karen powers down the table, and you collect your Jesta and it's Balls. You see Charlotte sitting to the side, both her Geara Zulu and Kampfer in her hands as she looks from one to another.

"Something wrong, Charlotte?" You ask.

"Just deciding which one to use." Charlotte sighs. "I mean, I'm pretty sure my Kampfer would stomp that Zabanya. On the other hand, I kinda feel like giving him a sporting chance..."

"Well, it 's your choice, I guess." You shrug. "Go with whatever you feel like."

"Hm, I guess you're right." Charlotte nods and puts the Kampfer back in tits carrying case. "Zulu it is, then!"

"All right, everybody!" Karen claps her hands to get your attention. "This is our final strategy meeting, so everybody get together!"

You all gather around the central table and Karen continues.

"As you all know, we're set to battle Team Noscope today. Now, I've been doing some research, and I found out that their Team Leader, who pilots the Zabanya, is not exactly a conventional sniper."

"What do you mean by that?" Jake raises an eyebrow.

"I mean that he doesn't hide or ambush." Karen shakes her head. "He tends to just charge at the enemy and try overwhelm them with his rifle bits. I think that can work in our favor."

"How so?" You ask.

"That means it will be easy to bait him into a trap." Karen says. "If you, Charlotte, and Lucina can all hit him at once, I think you can take him out early in the game."

"But what about his teammates?" Lucina asks.

"They're both freshmen, so I don't expect them to bee TOO threatening. However, that also means that they're unknown factors." Karen sighed. "But it's up to you to decide what to do, since it's going to be your Gunpla out there.

You, Charlotte, and Lucina all look at each other.

Both girls nod as well.

"Good, then that concludes this meeting for now." Karen says and stands up. "I'll see you all after classes, then."

As if on cue, the bell rings, signifying the end of lunch break. You all disperse to head for your respective classes. However, as you make your way down the hall, you see Kennth himself leaning against the wall in front of you.

Heh, you could almost swear it was if Kenneth was scared that you would actually win. After all, he wouldn't be going through the trouble of trying to buy you out if he didn't.

"I'm not about to compromise my morals for whatever it is you want. You want me out? Better beat me fair and square like everybody else."

With that, you continue on to your class, not even looking back, though you're sure Kenneth is absolutely fuming that you've blown him off. However, you don't want to give him the satisfaction of you looking back and you continue on.

The rest of the day is rather uneventful. Classes go by rather quickly, mostly because you're zoning out from boredom. However, the golden hour finally arrives, and the final bell rings. You're already packed and out the door, heading to the gym like everybody else is.

"Hello, Jack." Lucina greets you as you arrive. She's already got her Exia out and assembled. "Are you ready to battle?"

"Of course!" You nod and take out your Jesta.

"Yo." Charlotte arrives with her Crimson Zulu in hand.

At this point, students were starting to filter in and sitting down in the bleachers, talking excitedly. At the other end of the gym, you saw a group of students all wearing matching green and black jackets. No doubt Team Noscope.

Shout over to them that we like their jackets. They're very stylish. Where did they get them?

Because our team's theme is that we're into this for the fun, not the victory, so being oddly friendly with our opponents would make sense. And would confuse them, so that's always fun.

Defender Ball is slower than normal, but GN Drive boosts speed. So it should be around normal. And being able to block that opening salvo of beamspam could help a lot. Swap out the one that we put the bazooka shield on, if only because we need the double beam Ball for harassment.

This is why we need to get that Ball rack upgrade. Four Balls at a time, then, with six at the next level. It would be really useful. Especially if we give them all GN Drives so they can keep up with us. We could mount, say, two Scout Balls with advanced sensors and maybe some melee weapons like beam rotors, two Defender Balls to stay near us and keep us safe, and two Artillery Balls for heavy punishment. I'd also like to get stealth systems on them, so we could make them vanish and reappear as needed. It would make the Scout Balls much more effective while making the other types really stylish to use.

You decide to swap out your Ball with the bazooka shield with the Defender Ball. You swap out the GN Drives, and decide at some later date to put some kind of armament on the Defender. It's not a moment too soon when the Judge finally arrives in that theatrical way he loves so much.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" He bellows. "ARE YOU READY FOR A GUNPLA FIGHT?!"

The crowd roars in approval.

"Then you're in for a treat!" The Judge motions to Noscope. "On this side is our school's number 4 team, the masters of ranged combat, TEAM NOSCOPE!"

Amid the cheers, you finally get a good look of who you're facing. The obvious team leader, who is up front and center and basking in all the applause, looked like the typical pro gamer douchebag. His two freshmen teammates looked more normal, with one boy and one bespectacled girl. You also managed to get a look at their Gunpla. Of course, there was the Zabanya. In addition, you could see a Dynames and a GM Sniper. The Dynames looked fairly standard, but the GM Sniper was sporting a nonstandard rifle, but you couldn't tell what it was.

"And on this side, we have the newcomer underdogs, the SORCERERS!"

You get some decent amount of applause, Much louder than last time, but noticeably a little less than what Noscope got.

Well, you'll show them all soon enough.

"Now everybody place your Gunpla on the battle table!" The Judge continues. You all comply and the table hums to life.

With eight or more they can protect the suit from all directions. Since the individual projectors can move it automatically opens up holes for our outgoing fire. They can also be used to augment melee attacks by using their magnetic fields to add extra force to the suit's movements. They're a very powerful system.

I'm pretty sure that in Gundam Build Fighters, Bit's and funnels are unaffected by whether or not the stage is in space or not, since the Qubeley Papillon uses bits and it was able to use them just fine when it fought in places that weren't in Space.
>>

That doesn't seem to be the case in Gunpla Battle, based on what we see of funnel-using units. They appear to be just as fast and maneuverable as in space. I know, it's just not fair. Then again, it means our Balls can function under gravity, so we're abusing that rule, too.

However, the contacts you do seem to be picking up are flying high in the air. You look up, and see the silhouettes of the Zabanya and the Dynames in the air. The Dynames is noticeably much lower to the ground, no doubt to act as both bait and a shield for the Zabanya.

We see them, they might not see us. But that sniper guy has me worried. Char and us should engage these two while Luci goes after sniper kid. We should have the D-ball waiting to intercept his shot because I am imagining he is very, very good if he is using a mook suit at this level. When he fires we need him to be adressed quickly, so have Ball 2 waiting to ping him when he moves following his first shot.

"Careful guys, I think they're trying to bait us." You say.

"So what do you suggest?" Lucina asks, her sword arm twitchin in anticipation of battle.

"We'll turn their tactic against them." You say. "Two of us will engage the Zabanya and Dynames while the third hunts for the GM Sniper. It can't be that good in a straight up fight, so it shouldn't be too difficult to take out.

"Sounds good." Charlotte says. "So who's going to hunt that GM Sniper?"

You pause briefly. You had no doubt Charlotte could do the job, and Lucina's close combat prowess could rip that GM to shreds. On the other hand, you had better detection and ECM equipment than the Exia...

This. I best the GM Sniper has a optical camo cloak at least. Send the defender but keep the other ball under the treeline. It should be safe-ish, but will be able to assit in finding SinperMcgee.

>>
>>33838558
Shit, I had forgotten about the Jesta's stat bonuses. Nice. And our Balls are as fast as Karen's Overflag. Well, the Defender Ball is slower, but its statblock is without the GN Drive. That gives +1 to Agility, so it should be as fast as the other. Damn. GN Juggler Jesta is strong.

I'm personally in favor of that Jesta Joestar build that was talked about in a previous thread, I'm one of the people that's sick of the ball theme but I'd put aside my hatred in a heartbeat if it meant we could do that.
>>
>>33838635
It is a very nice upgrade, I will give you that. I think it is quite suited for a "Leader role". Our teamates might be able to outclass us in one area or another, but ideally we should be working to make them more effective in there wheelhouses while still being able to pull our own weight in a slug fest.
>>
>>33838688
Hence the use of "until." Conditional.

It's going to be a hell of a thing, whatever it is.
>>
>>33838553
"I'll worry about that GM Sniper. You two go handle those two clowns up there." You say.

"Got it." Charlotte grins and powers up her heavy beam cannon. The Exia and Zulu both boost upwards toward the two enemy suits. Lucina immediately engages the Dynames as both 00 suits twist and weave in the air. The Zabanya begins deploying its bits, but a blast from Charlotte's heavy cannon vaporizes a couple.

Meanwhile, you've boosted up above the treeline, Thanks to your camo-cloak, you were tough to see unless you started moving fast. Your Defender Ball hangs close while your Dakka Ball stays below the trees.

This is a tough call; if we deploy, we're vulnerable and I imagine decloaked. This gives the sniper a free shot on us and likely on our allies.

On the other hand if we stay cloaked, it will eventually fire and most likely damage a teammate quite badly if it hasn't already picked up we're hunting it.

The location isn't good for catching the location of the shot as it has no reason to use tracer rounds and the acoustics of a forrest along with the sound most snipers give off makes them difficult to pinpoint. We could also watch for scope glint, however the team is probably called NOSCOPE for a reason.

The most reckless thing to do would be to deploy and use ourselves as bait, hoping the near instantaneous shot we'd receive would not be fatal and would allow us to zero in on its position provided it's not on the move. Also keep in mind that a skilled combat sniper is ALWAYS on the move though.
>>
>>33838725
>Deploy countermeasures to protect Charlotte and Lucina.

I would rather not let the sniper take the first shot.
>>
>>33838725
>Deploy countermeasures to protect Charlotte and Lucina.

Wait for a slight lull in the fight, then have the D-Ball begin deploying anti beam chaff in the area of the figth. Don't react to the opponent, force him to act.
>>
>>33838738

I've even got an idea or two of how we could do it.

First off, obviously get that rack upgrade and have six balls, if we're going to do this, we'll do it properly and have six balls. Next find a way to simulate Hamon. (Plavsky Particle Hax perhaps?)

We should also convert our Jesta's Beam Rifle into a Beam Tommy gun or just make a Tommy Gun for it, Yuuki's Zaku Amazing's Revolvers proved that Physical Ammo still works in Gunpla Battles.

And we should also find a way to properly pull off Joseph's Grenade trick.

That's all I've got for now, sadly.
>>
>>33838725
>>Deploy countermeasures to protect Charlotte and Lucina.
>>
>>33838821
Strings of Plavsky Particles to create the links between the balls and making them our equivalent of the clackers. It could also be used to potentially simulate Old Josephs Hermit Purple
>>
Rolled 13, 15, 7 = 35

>>33838725
Between your shield, anti-beam coating, and Defender Ball, you're pretty sure that you'd be able to stop whatever the GM Sniper was pacing. You fly up high in the air, tearing your camo cloak to give your Gunpla time to start deploying its countermeasures. Smoke and anti-beam chaff cover the area, though you know in a gravity map with atmosphere, that chaff cloud was only going to stay up for so long.

Meanwhile, the main battle had already begun in earnest. You could see Charlotte doing her best to close the distance between herself and the Zabanya, but she is repeatedly repelled by rapid attacks from its rifle bits. Lucina was in a bit of a draw with the Dynames, as it was fast enough to keep distance between itself and her, but wasn't fast enough to outright lose pursuit.

Suddenly you saw a flash of light.

"Whoa!" You grunt as you raise up your shield in an effort to defend yourself. There's a loud CLANG as your Jesta takes the weapon impact with its shield. That was odd, actually, since beams weren't supposed to have mass, and they definitely weren't supposed to have gotten through the anti-beam chaff!

You take a quick look at your Chobham shield and see a massive dent in the front. You grimace, if this had been any other shield, it probably would have shattered. You're pretty sure that whatever slug thrower the GM Sniper was packing, your Chobham shield wouldn't last too long against it.

You also now have a rough idea of where the GM Sniper was hiding, assuming it wasn't repositioning.

Or from Seed. That has some pretty good projectile launchers. Kind of makes sense, when you consider the whole phase shift armor thing. The only ballistic weapons worth keeping around are the ridiculously powerful ones.
>>
>>33839154
Move in and radar ping
If the sniper is worth its salt it's repositioning itself. Bombarding is a waste of resources and gives them a clear shot. Racing in the direction is also a death sentence.
If we land, locate, then close the gap, we stand out best chance.

Night, Merc! See you tomorrow.

>>
>>33839476
Performance sure. But you can't tell what that is until you know... see it. We only saw it briefly at the start of the match before the load up.

Really, we wouldn't be able to tell until we started fighting it and even then we need to, again, see it. Which we haven't so far this fight.

So chill. Asking multiple times doesn't help.

>>
>>33839623
Compared to that guy who always brings up that weird laser zaku thing?

The first time was due to the variants I found because I wanted to see the videos like we did with the other mobile suits.

What didn't occurred to me that there was more then one GM Sniper type.

I only asked twice and it was at the end of the thread. i like to think I'm reasonable with that.
>>
>>33839619
>GM Sniper was sporting a nonstandard rifle, but you couldn't tell what it was
My mistake. I swore it said a rifle we hadn't seen before or something to that effect which made me think it must be custom since Jack is intimately familiar with almost all things Gunpla.
>>
>>33839663
Knowing isn't going to change anything. Knowing won't enable you to affect any change.

Knowing will do nothing and you want to know and so ask, repeatedly, anyways. To what end? You just look like impatient child that can't wait or delay gratification or you don't understand the mood/social cues of the thread and comparing yourself to someone else never makes your argument more favorable. (example: I might kill Palestinians like farm animals but compared to Hitler it's not bad)

If it's of importance it will get mentioned. If it's not it won't. So just relax.
>>
>>33839715
......That seems like a bit of an exaggeration anon.

Alright, I get your point but that type of argument should be brought up after numerous amount of times to the point of annoyance.

Again, I only brought it once during the thread, and didn't bring it up again after the thread. You calling names does not make your stance any better or by saying 'looks' or 'sounds' like.
>>
>>33839619
Could have been this too

>>33839366
>>
>>33839800
'Looks,' and 'sounds,' are used because this is my subjective opinion.

You're free to have (and voice) your own, just like I am. Sometimes there will be conflicting opinions.

The big takeaway here is that uncertainty is not the enemy.

Not much more to say about it now.
>>
>>33839867
Not that anon but You sound like a bad self help book.

I mean, your arguing with him over a question that barely fit into your criteria yet felt the need to bother him about it and out of all the other topics that were mention.

Relax dude, take a chill pill and depending on your timezone, go to bed, it's been a long day
