The familiar you have sent to investigate this gives you interesting information; the area surrounding the facility is mostly destroyed, with craters filling the previously even wasteland, a good chunk of the unused road missing and the few abandoned buildings in the area reduced to rumble. The utility pole your familiars were on is tilted and sunken to the ground while wines have grown on its side. Your familiar can actually see more of these wines among the rubble and reinforcing the facility’s fence that seems to have taken quite a bit of damage.

On the facility grounds you see several people looking around with wands on their hands. One of them actually spotted your investigating bird and almost blasted it, though it managed to avoid the incoming blast of air and got away.

You manage to find one of your dead crows among the rubble some distance away from their previous location and discover that it’s covered in something that resembles burn wounds from something. From the look of things you deduce that either the power line ruptured or something else electrocuted your familiars.

Always while I'm at work.
We had a plan, stick with it and keep surveillance on our foe, need to get some rats to help sneak around there by the looks of it.

To clarify: Dead familiars are not a liability, are they? You mentioned that some wizards had their familiars suicide if they were caught so I assume we can just leave our dead ones lying there.

I'd say we keep a very loose watch on things. Have a familiar nearby, but not close. Close enough to notice a magic battle, but not close enough to be caught up in it. I'd rather miss things than lose more familiars. Other than that:

Getting two different bird’s eye views of completely different surroundings as the birds fly into different neighborhoods disorients you. By the time you get used to it one of the officers has driven to a yard of a small house with a low chain fence surrounding it, located somewhere in the poorer district. As the older man steps out of the car and heads to the front door of the house you spot some dogs starring out of a window with their snouts pressed against the glass, leaving marks on it. They leave their position as the officer steps into the house and shouts something you don’t catch at this distance.

To expand on it, what we'll do is find a pig-farmer, and use a series of Submissions to have him fake inventory logs showing that some hogs that died and that needed to be disposed of were bought up by some guy, cash only. And get a hog or two from him.
We then, using magic, pulp up the hog's body and mix it with some of our blood from flesh-casting.
We then have our Submissioned/Bound police officers "find another Skinner site", and this time, when they do the tests on the cells, find that it's actually pork.
When the evidence needs to all be re-tested, they can then switch out the real evidence for the pork-evidence. Once the labs are told what to look for, they'll find that yes, the bit of evidence they tested before was human, but the new pieces of evidence show that it's really pork mixed with human blood.

Now, we just have to figure out how to deal with the fact that we were at the hospital with Cecil when Mariana was killed.

You have your familiars take rounds around the area surrounding the houses.

The policeman’s house is in the poorer part of town and the houses are relatively small and the streets have a decent amount of movement. The neighborhood is filled with detached houses and doesn’t seem bad. There are few teens loitering around and considerable amount of cars and passers-by passing through it.

The woman’s house is in a wealthier neighborhood that isn’t the richest one around but the people still have fences and intercoms on their yards. Most houses are two stories high with possible security cameras and the streets are not as populated. A random person or two may drive through it every now and again but the neighborhood is out of the way enough that there is no significant amount of movement.

After some time of no significant movement you tell the familiar take a look around the man’s house to see if there are any entrances you can use. A quick round around it shows no visible openings and a peek through a window reveals that the lights are out, signifying that the officer may be asleep already.

As the crow take a closer look around, you notice a small window near the ground level. The house seems to have a cellar and with a bit of work your familiar manages to dislodge the old lock slightly.

As you are inspecting the house, another car drives into the yard. A man around the same age as the officer exits the vehicle and heads for the front door while the cat that was on the fence jumps down to follow after him.

Your very first familiar had gathered more of birds earlier today and while most of them have already left, you easily bind four crows to form a hive. You find it curious and slightly creepy how they act almost in unison.

Once you are done with that, you move back to the campsite to ease your blood loss with some coffee made to you by Cecil. Moonlight filtered through the barrier colors everything dark red with long shadows of the trees making grotesque shapes in the surroundings.

Thats true as well. I'm curious though about the fleas and diseases. If they are all under our control it actually shouldn't be difficult to make them clean and bath themselves.
They also do breed rather quickly so it wouldn't be massively difficult to increase their numbers. Additionally if we wanted to purposely use them to spread disease it wouldn't be very difficult.

Regarding Cecil. I'm somewhat worried about creating >pic related but that may be a forgone conclusion.

As for the best way to go about it. On the one hand it might be best to have a 'normal' or at least mentally stable person to bounce ideas off of so we aren't working in an echo chamber. She'll also be more likely as a normal but loyal person to not go insane on people we get close to.
She might also betray us if we get too grimdark and start murdering/torturing innocents like she was/is.

Blood girl Cecil would be useful as well and would be fun. But I feel she has all the same risks as normal but loyal Cecil, but will just tell us what we want to hear and likely go insane on others who might get close to us.

As such I think that going for a loyal but stable Cecil with a fetish for blood sex is the best option.

You rush out of the house through the pet-door as the cat follows after you. You take flight as the harbringer lands close to the cat, getting its attention. The bird leads the animal into an alleyway on a different neighborhood and keeps teasing it, giving you the time to set up submission. The most difficult part of this is to keep the mammal in the circle long enough for you to activate it but after some time you do succeed. The order you give it is to go to the outskirts and wait some hours in an abandoned warehouse where you can bind it.

With that done, you end the possession and ride to the city, this time not taking any unnecessary turns. As you arrive to the location, you already see the feline waiting in the middle of the room. With little difficulty you build the circle around the animal and soon you already feel the familiar tug within yourself.

You prepare the second part of the binding to turn the cat into a host while calling your idle familiars to your location in order to dispose of any leftovers. By the time the ritual is finished most of the familiars are already there, ready to consume any evidence left behind. The biggest issue turns out to be the blood as it’s harder to get off of the wooden surfaces but you do manage to wash enough of it off to pass it as graffiti or faded paint. It’s not like anyone visits these places often enough to remember every last detail anyway.

Done with that, the night is coming to an end and you realize not only how tired you’ve gotten, but how long you manage to stay awake before feeling it. You idly wonder if it’s due to magic or the high amounts of caffeine you’ve drunk lately as you tell the cat to return home for now.

You find it tiring to read through the extremely dry and detailed text featuring words you don’t know, written few hundred years ago with a bad handwriting you can barely read. Still, you think you manage to get what you want out of it.

All you’d need for a mass-binding would be something shared between all targets on some level to use as the focus while they are within the circle. Of course, there are complications on how each individual perceives the focus which complicates things further but the point is that as long as you have a group of something that have a strong emotional tie to something and they think of it in the same way, you should be able to bind them at the same time. This method should work on simple targets but you doubt it’d work on people or sufficiently intelligent animals.

As you shut the book and sip the coffee, you notice the sun is high in the sky and Cecil is peacefully sleeping while leaning on you. You yourself feel like you may need to rest soon, but you steel your mind and exorcise the sleepiness.

You push the bike into the building, just in case someone passes by and recognizes the license plate, before seeing what your familiars have caught. You count two mice, a huge rat and a shrew. Experimenting a bit, you set a piece of food in the middle and attempt to bind the animals by it. After this fails to get any results you opt to doing things the hard way and draw some more circles.

Once the rodents are bound it’s already afternoon.

You finish binding the animals and flip open the grimoire, going for the history section. You begin looking for records on how those before you have used any similar affinities.

This reveals you some information; the flesh seems to be especially useful at creating constructs or modifying familiars while being less so in direct combat, but that is nothing you hadn’t thought of on your own. Experimentation and practice are things any mage has to do in order to learn more about their affinity but getting more familiar with its ‘natural manifestation’ could also help. You assume that means getting your hands into a body and are unsure of how to feel about it.

Have one of the host crows make submission circles in the basement, if unoccupied, then open a door and submission them to come to an abandoned place nearby when their master gets home. We will lay a submission in the door to capture the officer. He is to walk his dogs to abandoned place.

We will then prepare 3 binding circles at said meet up point.

[X] Breaking and entering.

You take a comfortable position in the dim warehouse as you order one of the host crows to move to the policeman’s house. The harbringer stationed there informs you that there is no movement in the building and you give the rodents an order to guard you during the possession.

You are now a crow standing by the cellar window of a small detached house. With some work your beak breaks the old, rusty lock that kept it shut, making it easy for you to crawl in though.

The room is small and dank, filled with miscellaneous items and long forgotten boxes. You maneuver your way through the piles of rubbish until you arrive to the heavy hatch leading into the ground floor. After few tries you come to the conclusion that it’s just too heavy for you to open as a bird.

First off we need to lay two submission circles for the dogs. Then try and use bolt to open the hatch.

Get one of the dogs in there then. They can climb up the ladder (though they will have trouble getting down) and should be strong enough to push the trapdoor up.

I'm loathe to risk our one remaining dog, but it's the only one that probably has the strength to push open a trapdoor.
If our remaining dog is of a breed that's strong enough, have it go to the house, enter the basement, and push open the trapdoor and go up.
We'll use Bolt to pin down the two dogs, Submission them, create a Submission Circle to trap the cop when he gets home, and we'll bind them when he 'takes his dogs for a walk'.

You call your remaining dog to the scene which arrives after half an hour or so. It pushes through the too small window, dislodging the whole thing from its hinges and still barely gets through before heading over to you, destroying various items in its wake. The noise seems to have gotten the home owner’s dogs’ attention as you can hear them barking outside. As the familiar pushes the trapdoor open, you take the chance to fly up the opening before using bolt to immobilize the confused animals.

You take this chance to set up the submission circles to have the dogs and the owner come to you as soon he enters the house.

Now it’s a matter of waiting until the officer gets off from work.

Yes, it was mentioned in the update back then that you walked up to the room, looked around, saw a nurse exit and turned back.

You can do relatively simple shapes, with more precise things taking a bit more time. The flesh is never rock hard of course but right now your conjured flesh consists of skin, muscle and meat, and you have some control over how much of it is what.
Using your whip of flesh as an example, anything you could do with that you could do with almost any conjured flesh as it's merely some conjured flesh shaped into a form, rolled up and enchanted with 'endure' to be used as a weapon.
