The Story So Far: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=hellborn
Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/rNg3Yw8m (picture included)

You have just returned from hell, and have claimed the arcane might of the San Bruno landwell for your own. Its power still courses through your veins, and the numberless snake things that coil and hiss around you are beginning to recover from the wave of energy that repulsed them.

Meanwhile, your shadow twitches about you, feeling somehow more animate than it did before. It’s almost like it’s become an extension of your very being. You can feel the way it lies across the scrubby grass beneath the claws of your feet, and it moves with your very breath.

HP: 20/27
PP: 27/27
Stress: 69/100
Sanity: 77/100
Bloodlust: Rising

The enthusiasm radiating from Philostrathus has turned into a smoky aura of hatred, specifically, probably, for you. “Why don’t you just lie down and die?” she yells to you, cold bitterness in her voice.

>Yeah, I’d ask you the same thing.
>Laugh madly.
>Okay, here’s the part where I tear your head off.
>Summon the thing that you think you can summon that’s not an imp!

>Shadow Self: Sierra's shadow is an extension of her own body. She is aware of how it feels, and can manipulate it without special concentration or effort. It can also take on the form of four shadowy tendrils, which she can make use of just like her other limbs. Touch attacks may be made through her shadow self, both attacking and when being attacked. Exceptional brightness causes Sierra discomfort, as it interferes with her shadow self's presence. Passive ability. [VE]

WE CAN SOUL DRINKER THROUGH SHADOWS NOW.

PHILO IS FUCKED.

Also, let's do the vote on the thing we should do votes on.

Choose one of the following.

-Infernus-
Red Quickening
>While in battle, tasting fresh blood sends you into a frenzy, making you faster, stronger, and more violent than before. (Gain bonus to damage and physical checks for one round after imbibing blood)
Bloodletting
>You reflexively know where to hit to cause the most bleeding possible. (Melee attacks cause damage over time at a rate of 1d3 per round on top of any other wounds or status effects inflicted, if left untreated.)
Blood Curse
>You cause the blood of your target to become unstable, greatly weakening it. (Target takes increased damage and suffers great penalties to healing. Causes random bleeding, which allows for easy tracking. Persists for at least one day, if not removed.)
Blood Rage
>Whenever you kill an opponent in close quarters, gain a small amount of HP and PP proportional to the strength of the creature, and lose stress.
>>
>>33816797

-Verwelken-
Voice of One Thousand Teeth
>You can push shadows farther than they like, and cause them to bristle. Turn a space of shadow into a cloud of cutting darkness. (4 PP, area effect, effective against unarmored targets)
Whisper of Lightlessness
>Sometimes, you can hear the shadows speaking to you. They tell you what they’ve seen, if only you listen. (May cause san loss when rolled poorly.)
Translucency
>You can bend light around you for a short period of time, making you difficult to spot. (1 PP/ sec when moving, 0.5 PP/second when still)
Stepping of the Corner.
>You now understand how to pass through corners and other angles, unhindered. (Low power charge on use.)

-Belphegoran-
Inflict Pain
>Ignite an opponent’s senses with a crippling overload of pain. (High cost, powerful debuff)
Spell Eater
>Parry incoming magic and absorb it, negating its effects and gaining a part of its energies. (Arcane defense, Cost: ~ varies on spell being countered)
Unnatural Charm
>Influence others’ perceptions of you, and gain some insight as to how to manipulate them into doing what you want. (Activated power, uses PP)
Corrupting Hex
>Destroy spells, buffs, or debuffs on target. (Moderate cost, utility spell)

Also, upgrade one of the following.

Hellfire -> Hellblaze
>Becomes 3d5 damage up from 2d5 damage. Includes hellbolt and the fire whip.
Claws -> Rending Claws
>Becomes 3d3+1 damage up from 3d2+1.

Claws doesn't even guarantee more damage with an attack. Hellblaze guarantees 1 more minimum, 2 more if you stack whip and hellfire at the same time. Fire also give a higher max potential damage increase.

Downside is that Hellblaze wont work against certain kinds of demons and costs PP. Upsides are double-stacking and range.

>>
>>33817311
And Philo because bs magic, and Inferni because armor skin (seriously, it just bounces right off Ranthix), and Verwelkens if they're actually just living shadows, and Hellions if they can whip up some kind of magi-shield like Philo.

The point is, all of those are highly resistant to claws AND fire, Except Verwelken which would probably get fucked hard by fire and not claws. Trevon was also pretty weird about things; he didn't seem to have fire resistance, just tons of HP and regen, so the higher damage from fire was more effective on him. Mortals in armor would also be more vulnerable to fire than claws.

My point is that fire is actually better for dealing with most things. Claws are better for working with shadows since it doesn't make light and is in general stealthier, but that's really their only selling point. Well, actually I take that back. They also have the PP drain and that's good.

Still, Fire is better for pure damage, claws are for stealth sneakery.
>>
>>33817378

I think this quest needs a lot more choices, i just read the meckor fight and was like "wtf, 1 choice causes so much action and use of PP that wasn't instructed by players?!"

also, how could a roll of 24 (basically 76) cause you to get caught and lose a good amount of hp?
>>
>>33817780
>but take a knife to it and it doesn't do shit
Actually, they have plates of metal in them, so they are quite useful against knives too.
>>
>>33817780
Kevlar gets messed up bad by stabbing, not so much slashing at least I'm pretty sure. I thought that most vests had plate inserts anyway?
>>
>>33817848
>I think this quest needs a lot more choices, i just read the meckor fight and was like "wtf, 1 choice causes so much action and use of PP that wasn't instructed by players?!"
I disagree and think that being forced to overmicromanage scenes is a horrible detriment to many quests. I trust the QM to write the story, I can trust him to use PP in a fight scene without completely fucking everything up.

>also, how could a roll of 24 (basically 76) cause you to get caught and lose a good amount of hp?
Ridiculous DCs. Seriously, a lot of the DCs in this quest are like 10 or less if you don't come up with a brilliant plan.
>>
>>33817855
>>33817865
yeah, if you get more expensive ones

its still a fact that modern armor mostly focuses on dealing with bullets

as long as sierra doesn't take on a swat team she shouldnt have a problem with clawing through "armor"

Armor without plates are pretty shit against bullets. They are outdated. Even if they stop the bullet from going into the flesh, it will give the wearer a bump the size of my fist and possibly some fractures.

Every quest has a different ratio if game:story.

This one is more story. That means you don't get to micromanage things as much. I like that. I'm sure other people like that too.

If you want some really fine micromanagement, go check out A.I. Quest and Hive Queen Quest. BFQ was really micromanagy too, sometimes it took multiple threads to go through a few minutes of action. You'd also probably like PGQ, that one really lets you dictate every little thing.
>>
>>33818208
>multiple threads to go through a few minutes of action

That sounds incredibly dull and annoying.
>>
>>33818234
It was.
>>
>>33817848
I like this quest because it's well written. That alone is enough to justify a little forced combat. And I do mean a little. The pacing is much, much better this way.

There are too many chucklefucks who also like this quest to give a ton of choices to.

Languid is fucking excellent about accepting write-ins when appropriate. You just have to trust him.
>>
>>33818208

Yeah, I definitely prefer whole it's handled in this this quest. Sometimes the micromanaging can be fun but it tends to kill the pacing, which kind of ruins the whole experience.
>>
>>33817959
It is still more likely we will fight some greed demon wearing the skulls of the poor.

You start laughing uncontrollably. Philo’s not a threat to you anymore.

You feel ferocious life burning in your heart, begging to be unleashed. Except it’s something distinct from your imp. Something… bigger.

Whatever it is, it’s getting out, right now. You step forward and release the pent up energy with a snap.

When you manifest the imp, it appears in a burst of fire and smoke, so you were kind of expecting something like that. That doesn’t happen. Instead, in the spot of your summon, shadows knot up in a super dense thicket, and then resolve into the shape of a boney creature.

You don’t really know what it looks like. It’s got a weird, angular head made mostly of bone, with a dozen eyes scattered around the front and a couple clunky protrusions that resemble horns. It stands kind of on its forearms, and it has smaller hind legs. It also has a pair of emaciated little arms curled up on its stomach. All it’s limbs all sport a few joints too many. Its several hands have long, thin fingers. It’s skin looks like rock shale, and it has four serpentine tails that snake out behind it. It’s smallish body is offset by the long, spiny protrusions that come out of its back like a porcupine.

It glances back at you with its many eyes, its bony head looking out of place on its thick, long neck. All in all, it’s about the size of a gorilla. Whatever the hell this thing is, it’s badass.
>>
>>33818444

“Let’s go, tiger,” you say, walking toward Philostrathus. The tiger lets out a metallic grunt and shoves along with its arms, wrestling condapedes out of your way, biting through flesh with its razor sharp teeth, and generally being awesome. (Tiger: 20/20 HP)

The snake density levels are off the chain, but you’re quick, and you find the shadows immediately around you more responsive and personal than they’ve been before. As one condapede whips out to flank you and another three try their luck at a frontal assault, you strangle the first aside with a pair of shadowy tendrils, and meet the other three with claws, kicking and gouging our way through. Another comes at you from behind, and you turn it back with a spin and a few lashes from your tail.

You’re pretty much made of knives. And even though you’re surrounded, you feel a sense of calm and control that lets you sense the intent of your many opponents and intercept them, one, two, or five at a time. The darkness proves a useful tool in protecting yourself from the onslaught. (-5 PP: 27/32 PP)

You and your tiger make way across the grassy divide and come to Philostrathus, who hasn’t made any moves to go anywhere, though snakes pour out from behind her like they’re going out of style. She shouts at you, her voice shrill. “What point are you trying to prove?!” she asks. (Philostrathus: 22 PP)

You don’t answer, and surge forward into snakes and more snakes.
>>
>>33818467
The tiger senses your intent, and goes before you, arching its back and ducking its head. A group of long, boney spines launch out of its back with a high pitched hissing sound, and impale the condapedes between you and Philostrathus. (Tiger: 1/5 Spines)

You rush forward over the stunned and gasoline-scented bleeding forms of the snakes and lay your claws on Philo’s delicate shoulders – you’re taller than Philostrathus by a wide margin, although her spiny hat does make her look taller. As the condapedes rush in to strike from all angles, your shadow goes out around you, wrangling them aside with maximum prejudice. (-3 PP: 24/35 PP)

Careful not to trigger her disappearance by hurting her, you grab her and hold her in place, and then open up a gaping void that begins to suck in all traces of energy from anything touching you. The power waving from her bends and draws into you, unable to escape the insatiable pull of your person. (-3 PP: 21/35 PP)

Her power wanes, even as yours grows stronger, and she screams profanities in your face in some mellifluous language you don’t understand. You can’t even figure out where words end and others begin. She struggles against you, beating with child-like weakness against your chest, and swiping ineffectually at your face with her sharp, bony fingers. Your shadows ward her off from actually hurting you, though even without them you’d be fine. (Philostrahus: 10 PP) (+12 PP: 33/35 PP)
>>
>>33818509

You clamp down on her arms with your shadows, while she continues to write. During her thrashing, her hat falls off and flops lifelessly onto the corpses of condapedes that your tiger’s killed. You keep focus on draining her magical reserves.

And then she has nothing left. (Philostrathus: 0 PP; 5/6 HP)

You shove her away from you, and she trips on her dress and falls backward over condapedes and tumbles to the ground. She shrieks and throws out a thin arm to catch herself, which she does. But you hear a thin snap as her wrist breaks, and the taste of something bitter and a metallic, coffee-like fills the air, above the scent of condapede blood. (Phiostrathus: 4/6 HP)

It’s an exquisite kind of flavor. Tataran blood.
>>
>>33818522

Philostrathus crawls backward from you, breathing hard and scowling, a line of blood leaking down the edge of her wide, sharp mouth. The emotions coming from her are too complex to describe – it’s rage, sadness, hatred, and fear all mixed together, so strong it’s like you’re tasting them for real instead of just sensing them.

“Why couldn’t you just die?” she cries, cradling her broken arm to her chest. She moves without coordination, as if unsure of how to move without standing. “Just go away! Go away and leave me alone!” she shrieks. “You’re going to die anyway! It’s not fair!”

Remember the bloodlust bar.

>-Bloodlust- (As Sierra goes without consuming the blood of her foes or engaging in violent activity, she begins experiencing violent urges that become progressively more difficult to control, until she indulges or loses control.)
>Satiated - Good to go.
>Subdued - Minor interest in the taste of blood.
>Rising - Blood and violence have definite appeal .
>Craving - Violence and blood have a magnetic draw to them; without vigilance, Sierra may be swept up by desire.
>Hungering - Instinct calls for satisfaction. Persistent and nagging urges to sate herself beleaguer Sierra at regular intervals.
>Starved - Sierra's body begins entering withdrawal. She exhibits physical side effects, and resistance to violent urges becomes difficult to maintain.
>Raging - Instinct all but takes over. Refraining from physical violence requires unbroken concentration and unfaltering will.

>Enjoys sarcasm and making fun of others, and causing people to lose their cool....Also derives sadistic pleasure from inflicting physical and psychological injuries, though doing so to those 'undeserving' conflicts with her sense of morality.

Philo is definitely not an innocent.

Remember that we can drain her soul while we drink her blood.
>>
You walk up to her, kneel down, and grab her wrist when she tries to strike at you. Then you bite her, and back off a little, savoring the rich, full flavor of her mocha latte blood. The rush of the new sensation is wonderful. (+3 HP: 23/37)

You turn to look back down at her as the venom starts doing what venom does. “Payback’s a bitch,” you say, looking down at her.

She looks like she’s about to retort, but then her muscles begin to spasm, and all that comes from her mouth is an inarticulate gurgle. She falls to the ground and begins shaking and seizing up. Her face is contorted painfully. You don’t think she’s going to last much longer, so you figure now’s good a time as any.

You light her on fire. With her body convulsing uncontrollably, she can do nothing but scream horribly. The sounds of her agony is musical to you. Sadly, they don’t last long. (Bloodlust: Satiated)

The remaining condapedes cease writhing at the death of their master. They all lay down, as if in sleep. You doubt they’ll ever get up again.
>>
>>33819182
>It's not just the bloodlust, it's full blown character personality at this point.

Ripping her head off and sending out pictures of it on facebook is not in the character notes. Which is the out of character part

Just because she enjoys it doesn't mean she brags about it and takes pics of it retard.
>>
>>33819223

You turn back and survey the scene. Mangled, bloodied condapedes everywhere. Big, smoldering splotches where you exploded on the field. And now the scent of charred coffee and flesh to add to it all. And the landwell, now glowing scarlet, glows proudly in the center of it all.

“Well, that wasn’t really what you had in mind,” you say.

You snort. “Hey, at least I got the bad guy. And the landwell thing, too.”

“Nice job, by the way,” you say, smling.

San Fransisco is demon free. Free of the demons that aren’t your friends or kind of friends, anyway. (-25 Stress: 44/100; +2 Sanity: 79/100)

Agreed, we she should get a morality roll for this shit. Philo served as being the dickbag trigger that caused us to lose it and trying to serve fucking 'I'm going to invade North America with Armies from Hell' Meckor.

Hey man, to Sierra's defense, it's not that easy to stop talking to pretend-some-else-yourself once you start, probably much harser in her case because it's genuine. Since we're calling for pickup, should we scorch the area a bit more so that it looks like a legit pyromacer fight happened here?

A lot of the condapedes aren't even burned, they just got ripped apart by shadows.
>>
>>33819435

>>
>>33819428
I just hope it doesn't get worse. Sub 70 San Sierra's probably a pretty scary thing.
>>
>>33819460
That is completely irrelevant to the issue here.

Killing a bunch of normal, innocent people in a blind rage causes mental fuck ups.
Killing an enemy who trapped and tried to kill you does not cause sanity loss.

It is pretty simple.
>>
>>33819423
Selling drugs and fighting other gangs is not even remotely equivalent to slaughtering a pile of uninvolved people.

no, it's not

the differences you are talking about are rational ones

the emotional mind doesn't care about that, it would just see blood and death and go OH GOD OH NO
>>
>>33819500
we really need a better way to recover sanity between fights. Like super yoga or something.
>>
>>33819460
What you're saying makes no sense. You're both complaining about Sierra being irrational and saying that everyone is irrational. And then you go on to say that it's strange that shes irrational in >>33819493.

>>
>>33819493
The conversation with ourselves was because we lost sanity during the fight, remember? Last time we talked to ourselves was also when our sanity was hovering in the 70s.
>>
>>33819510
We gained sanity for killing her. What the actual fuck are you arguing for?
>>
>>33819493
No, conversation with herself is a cause of her already low sanity (80- san). Fighting and killing an enemy demon is in no way a cause of sanity loss. On the contrary, it is a step towards stability and peace of mind.
>>
>>33819542

>>
>>33819548
everyone IS irrational when it comes to emotional trauma

> And then you go on to say that it's strange that shes irrational
no, i was trying to say that its strange that she gained sanity after ANOTHER example of her being irrational

sanity gain should not be followed by indulging in insanity
>>

>>

>>
>>33819591
Drinking the enemy's blood is not insanity. It is a pretty sane behavior for Sierra, who is a demon that drinks the blood of her enemies.
>>
>>33819686
We are back to this again? Normal innocent people killed in rage and an enemy demon killed in a fight are completely different.
>>
>>33819655
the differenc is between blood she doesn't want there/innocent blood and blood that she intentionally put there like the blood of hated enemies.

one of those things makes her remember a traumatic event the other one makes her feel accomplished and satisfied. Now can we please get back to the quest?
>>
>>33819500
>>33819625

I think from this post right here, Sierra doesn't consider Philo a person. At best, she considers Philo a cartoon villian, a caricature.

She probably doesn't consider killing Philo a subject of morality because of this rationalization, and from her line about San Francisco being demon-free considers this action to be morally good
>>
>>33819655
Jesus Christ just fuck off already. It doesn't work like that. Nobody wants to play Sierra Cries in her Room all Day After Seeing Red [Quest]

>>
>>33819655
This is not human blood though. Remember, Sierra has exceptional senses when it comes to blood, and this tastes and smells diferent. She only really had an episode when she heard the siren, because it's the first thing she heard when waking up on the highway or whatever. Besides, memories are extremely easily stimulated by smells. and this blood is an enitrely new experience for Sierra, she doesn't even associate this blood with human blood.
>>
>>33819655
Killing innocent people and killing a demon who you hate are two different thing.
>>
>>33819784
And even if he argues that it is different, it isn't to Sierra. Sierra doesn't think they are the same thing, hence why no san loss
>>
>>33819751
well the facts just dont fit together

the not being bothered by indulging in bloody murder would make sense if sierra was a psychopath, except she has shown in the quest that she isnt one - she has shown that she hates murder

i dont see how the difference between it being innocents makes a difference here - we are not talking about a court of law interpreting it, we are talking about a person's emotional stability
>>
>>33819655
Really shouldn't because...
>It's demon blood so who cares if they die.
>It's demon snake blood so fuck yeah.
>Sierra's hellborn and DRINKS blood. She ENJOYS the taste of blood, for fuck's sake.

She's still partially human but I'd wager a guess her demon side makes her a lot more resistant to gore as long as she perceives it not that of innocents.

Also you should stop arguing about this since pretty much everyone's against you. You won't sway anyone, least of all Languid.

She doesn't consider Philo worth caring about because horrible trauma which got lots of people killed.

San Fran being demon-free is like getting 5% off at the local grocery store. Nice, but not really something you'd go out of your way to achieve for it's own sake. Examples: Meckor wanted to invade earth, THAT is a reason to stop him. Ranthix wants us to LIFT. Wolfgang wants to study law. Moriah wants to draw. These reasons don't hurt anyone or disagree with basic points of Sierra's worldview.

You're completely ignoring the fact that she's half demon. She doesn't have a normal human psychology. Things are going to be similar, yes, but not identical.

She can take this sadistic pleasure in destroying people she hates while still feeling emotions and remorse about accidentally hurting people she doesn't want to hurt. She doesn't need to be a complete sociopath to really like brutally killing Philo. She can like that and still feel bad about hurting innocents during a bloodrage.

There's also the heightened sensory ability mentioned in >>33819783. Philo blood is not the same thing as human blood. Just because you think it's similar doesn't mean it's similar to her.

And even if we did kill a dickass human and saw their blood, I don't think that's going to result in her freaking out. The infernus traits are too hardwired to fucking love blood.

Well. You certainly don’t feel like walking home after this crap. Although the idea of calling Isaac with Sattler about doesn’t seem like the greatest idea, so long as nobody sees you actually being or doing demon stuff, you should be okay. You’ll probably have to scorch the clearing a little more to make it look like you burned the place to hell and back.

You get out your phone, and are surprised that it isn’t somehow broken or cracked or anything. Man, this double 0 tech is great. You dial up Isaac. It rings a while, which yeah, it’s the middle of the night. He answers though.

“I take it you’re not in the house,” Isaac says, sounding surprisingly alert for somebody who’s just been woke up in the middle of the night.”

“Well,” you say. “It’s a long story.”

Isaac laughs humorlessly. “Make it a short story.”

“Couldn’t sleep, so I climbed a mountain. And then I found the landwell, and was like, hey, a landwell, I’m a landmaster, this should be right up my alley. And I guess I kind of walked into a trap Philostrathus set up, so I killed her,” you say, kind of grinning to yourself. “And now I’m on the top of a mountain, it’s the middle of the night, and I don’t have shoes, and my feet hurt.”

There’s a pause. “Do you need clothes?”
>>

You check yourself. Thankfully, your cool jacket is okay, if a little singed around the edges for having endured so many explosions. And even though your jeans now have a lot more character than they did previously, they’re still good for wearing. “Nah, I’m good,” you say.

There’s another pause. “How much fire did you use?”

“I’ll make it look like I used a lot,” you answer.

“I‘m sure my cousin will look forward to hearing how you managed to get around her defensive spells,” Isaac says, warningly. “I’ll be on my way. I’ll call you when I get closer. You’re talking about San Bruno, correct?”

“Yep,” you say.

“See you soon. I’ll talk to you then,” he says.

“Yep,” you repeat.

He says goodbye and hangs up.

Well, you have a ride coming, so that’s cool. But now you have additional stuff to worry about.

>How the heck did you kill Philostrathus using just fire powers and landmaster powers?

The thing looked pissed at her, like it was going to smack her around a bit. Actually did at first; started pumping out energy like crazy and knocked me over and knocked Philo over too. Anyway, after that happened I lit her up a couple times, she did the sparking thing, but she must have been outta juice because after a few burnings one of em actually stuck."

Well, pyro stuff is pretty easy. We have a lot of fire in us already. Just go explode somewhere. Then take out the whip and whip the shit out of the place with fire. Then but a few patches and such. Scatter the fires so it looks like you fought all around the place.

As for how we beat philo, maybe say we sucked her energy into the landwell we just claimed. Without power she could not teleport so we just light her ass up.

>How the heck did you kill Philostrathus using just fire powers and landmaster powers?
Make up some zen sounding bullshit about how the landwell gave you the ability to sense and drain the inner fire of others and you soaked up Philostrathus's power like a sponge. Then say that made Philostratus spontaneously combust while she was in a weakened state.

Guys

What if

The power to absorb demon power is only present in demons!

We should DEFINITELY say it was the landwell that sucked the power out of her.
>>
>>33820453
But hey guy

What if

What if the power to absorb demon power ISN'T only present in demons!
>>

That is the plan already.

>>33820478

>>
>>33820264
She was tapped into the landwell's power when we claimed it, and we think that let us access her power and drain her.

Btw we had shoes when we came up here. Some asshole Hellion is probably rocking a new pair of jordans right now.

>How the heck did you kill Philostrathus using just fire powers and landmaster powers?

Philo went through a lot of her magic power summoning swarms of Condapedes and doing other Tataran bullshit, and putting in something about the Landwell backfiring on her and draining her magic is good too. Then claim we started burning her from the inside after grabbing her. She teleported out but still seemed to take some damage from it, and then wasted more of her magic trying to run away from us, summon things to keep us off her, and keep us from grabbing her again. But it wasn't enough, we just kept on coming for her and when she ran dry we finished her off.

Oh, and Landmasters can use summons so we can explain away any claw, bite, or spine damage by saying it was our new awesome tiger. And it'll make the story a lot more believable to Satt since if we were a normal pyromancer we'd have some trouble with Condapedes and wouldn't really have a explanation for why some of them were ripped into pieces.

>Do stuff to make it look like you fought like a pyromancer.

Burn some stuff, make sure there's plenty of blackened corpses, scorched ground, stuff like that, and that most everything else can be attributed to our tiger. Make sure our appearance is properly human as well.

Oh, and since we happen to be on a mountain we may as well find a good place to watch the sunrise nearby, we can watch it for a bit with Issac when he gets here.
>>
>>33820264
>Do stuff to make it look like you fought like a pyromancer.
Focus on burning the snakes in a path from the well to the body, try and make sure the cut up ones get torched badly enough that it isn't obvious how they died.
>>
>>33820776
Pyromancers would summon fire elementals and things. No need to talk about bites or punctures.

We do need to make sure there aren't any spines in the area, though.
>>
>>33820264
>Do stuff to make it look like you fought like a pyromancer.
make sure the spines from Tiger are gone
>>
>>33820776
I'd like to leave the summons out of it. She might ask to actually see them and they're probably recognizably demonic.
>>
Ok. Sierra is fucking spooky.

>Can walk through walls
>Shadow tentacles
>Depression-balls
>General umbrakinesis
>Fear gaze
>Venomous fangs
>Drinks blood
>Black, razor-like claws
>Black eyes
>Can curse objects with pure hate

And that's not even counting the fire stuff.
>>
>>33821022
>probably recognizably demonic
No, they're pretty blatantly demonic. Tiger is like someone took a hellhound and made it even more fucked up and the Imp is like a tiny infernus.

They're more demony than half the demons we've killed.
>>
It is surprising that Reeber's glamor could fool the angel in the house.
>>
>>33820974
We're the second Landmaster Satt has met apparently, and the first one just told her to get off his lawn. She doesn't really know much about them.

If our summon is too demonic looking to be anything else we can shrug, point out the Landwell was recently connected to hell anyway, and we don't know why we get the summons we do. Or theorize that we've got a smidgen of Infernus blood in us which is why we're a natural at pyromancy and have a bad temper, so our connection to Landwells tends to lean towards the demonic side of things.

I'm thinking that even with some extra burninating there are going to be wounds on the condapedes that are best explained by clawing, biting, ripping, tearing, or something like that. If we can attribute those to a summon it means she won't suspect that we did the rip and tear. Issac will back up our explanation, so it should be alright.
>>
>>33821299
>If our summon is too demonic looking...
Yeah, I don't think Sierra has the requisite levels in Bluff for that.
>>
>>33821299
Or we could just not mention our demonic summons and wouldn't have a problem at all.
>>
>>33821299
Or we could just not show the summons. That would also work.

And next go around with the powers, hopefully we'll be getting Translucency. Well, if we get multiple picks anyway. With that, we can go full-predator on people.

Other than translucency, I think I wanna get Blood Curse, Inflict Pain, Unnatural Charm would be cool... actually I think I'm about to end up listing all of the powers on the list. They're all cool.

Go around making the place look more like a fire massacre, being ready to pass claws off on your summon.

Philo burned all her magic juice by going to town with her summons plus that hellgate trick, and when we claimed the landwell the backwash seemed to knock her for six. Our shoes are probably still in hell, in the mouth of the giant condapede. They may also be somewhat burnt.

It's a shame we didn't take advantage of our capture of Philo to force some answers regarding her prophecy before we killed her, we needed to find out what exactly she saw. As it stands we also need to do some research on the reliability of such predictions, and possibly look into getting another fortune teller in the medium term if they're meant to be pretty accurate.
