Joints groaning and hissing, a slight visual spike of static, and a loud pop from your spine parade through your senses as you take a seat on one of the remaining benches. The Tramm station has surely seen better days. Not the same cheap plastic of the rest of the slums of Araya, the station was built of quality material meant to last. Millenia of neglect has seen the one bright metal turn to a rich brown red. A number of columns line the to walls on either side, one melted through at the base from your battle. The Tramm itself lies on its side on platform across from you.

Outside, dark green skies ligh up with electrical discharge. Thankfully the acid rain had stopped.

You let out a deep sigh of exhaust. It had been a long day.

Your name is Kracken. Ex-lawbot. Monster of the Urayan slums.

Frankly, you were to old and tired for this slag-sucking war.

Now before we begin I just wanted to say a few things. First up, thanks to those enjoying the quest (if indeed there are more than one of you). I know you anons have put up with my scatter brained ways and I thank you for it.

Secondly, we are nearing the end of the Cybertron part of this quest. Soon we will be out in the galaxy, bringing Krackens' brand of rip and tear retribution to other worlds and species and I greatly look forward to giving you guys some breathing room to do cop stuff.

When we get out there we'll start with a short plot dealy where we'll get a chance for UPGRADES! You'll have a chance to purchase upgrades for you abilities, attributes, skills, and mods for extra effects that will be a headache to keep track of, but I'll be damned if I don't deliver 'em.

Some of the stuff will be specials that we won't get access to again for some time.

One of these things that I'm gonna spoil for you so you can get a head start on it is a second altmode. This one will be of your choosing, and anything goes. Mass shifting and multi-part alts will be available for one time only.

You will also get to redesign Krackens' look based on the upgrades.

Sitting on the bench you shrug your shoulders. The servos and pistons whine and pop. Your serrated teeth whir with a grinding screech. You've over exerted yourself but things aren't doing to bad. Those repair nanites did good work. Your glad it looked like the Cons were in disary for the moment, you needed to rest.

Looking around you see Copper slumped against the wall next the the stairway leading down. Next to him is the energon converter which is plugged into the wall and Coppers' hip to refuel the old campainger. Next to the converter is the sprawled out form of the junky you have been lugging around for most of the day.

On the other side of the stairway is a Teletraan1 terminal, a few NAILs are crowded around it as one of them has apparently got it working.

To your far right, near the Tramm line Gyro is in a heated argument with several of the other NAILs. You see them point at you once or twice.

You also noticed the NAILs lookin at you with awe and fear from time to time.

You huff and mutter curses under your breathe. You can smell another storm brewing and this ones indoors.

Standing up you amble on over to Gyro and the NAILs, giving them enough time to notice your approach.

The ringleader of this group of NAILs, a stocky blue/green bot with wheels on his legs and shoulders, seems anxious now that you're giving his group your full attention.

Gyro keeps laying into him anyways.

"What right do you have to try and kick one of us out? He's saved all your gearboxes over and over this whole trip!"

"Did you see him tear into them?He is as bad as those Cons." the NAIL says. "It's no wonder their out looking for him!"

"He's as bad as they are? Have you seen what the Cons do to prisoners!"

"Cons don't take prisoners."

"Exactly!"

"Neither has he!" He says getting up in her grill. "Not only is he offlining them all, but he's eating them."

He looks at you as you reach them. He look stern, disapproving. Scared.

"You are a terror, and they're gonna come full force to take you down."

A thing on alts. While you can transform into something several times your size, you would cap out at something the size of say, Tidalwave or Broadside (two of the largest non-combiners) and wouldn't come close to comber forms. (there might come a time when you get the option of being a combiner down the line, depending on where you go and the bots you meet) and can go as small as a human handgun.

Also a thing on alts that I should add to the rules. When scanning for new altmodes you will be limited to things that have the same stat increase/decreases, abilities and specials. Our sharktopus mode for example, is Krackens' original Cybertronian alt, if he were to get another it would be essentially a re-skin stat wise. Like pic related. Car alts can re-skin as other car alts, plane alts can re-skin as other plane alts, etc,etc. Emplacements, devices and whatnot are allowed. Within reason.

"When I ran into some Cons in the sub levels, they were talking about some Lightning Strike group." you continue "It's possible they're a big threat to them."

Gyro puts her hand on her chin in though. "I think I heard that Autobot say a 'Lightning Strike Coalition' or something was coming as backup."

The NAIL cuts in "Well they never came, but they're still after us," he sneers at you "If you don't think it's you they want, go check out Teletraan, it's had a message for you on repeat."

You frown in confusion.

You glare at the NAIL for a moment. Just long enough to see him fidget, then go to Teletraan1.

The crowd parts swiftly to give you access. The tall brass terminal with its blue screen greets you in an upbeat yet monotone voice.

"Greeting Kracken."

"Teletraan, these bozos say I have a message."

"That is correct. A general announcement has been posted for you on the Urayan news board approximately 10 hours ago. Would you like to read it?"

"Yeah.``

What follows is a short blurb on repeat.

``We see you Kracken, you can hide no longer chaosspawn.``

You blink.

The message has been posted as the days` headline and it rolls across the screen over and over.

You turn around. The NAILs have moved well away from you, the only ones close are Gyro and the ringleader.

"It calls you a spawn of the Chaosbringer, by name." he says while sneering.

Gyro gives you a questioning look.

You scowl and stare the NAIL right in the eye. "If I had any idea what it meant do you think you'd still be standing here in one piece?"

He and the rest of the NAILs take a step back. Gyro rests her hand on her pistol.

"Do any of you think, that I would throw myself in the line of fire for you if I was some kind of demon?" you growl.

The situation is tense. The NAILs are looking at eachother with confusion and discussing amongst themselves, while the ringleader tries to stand his ground. Gyro has turned sideways but still stands between you and the NAILs.

A jovial voice interrupts the standoff.

"Sorry t'break th'mood y'got goin' here, but we got trouble incomin'." Copper says, the converter slung over his back and the junky under his arm.

We need to get martial arts to 5, and I think we should probably put points into stealth. The underground decepticon portion would've worked much better if we had a bigger dicepool for sneakyness.

I'd also say if we have a choice of special abilities, we think about x-ray vision or its equivalent. Teleporting blind is a bad thing.

You walk past the NAIL ringleader growling in frustration. Some one was messing with you and you had no idea who.

"Whats the situation Copper?"

He falls in beside you as you make your way to the end of the Tramm station and peer out of the large exit. Out across the city you see energy blasts firing back and forth.

"Well it looks like th'Autobots' friends finally showed up, there havin' a go at them dropships."

"Lucky us."

"Right, but look here." he says and passes you his rifle. He orients the scope to a large black spot in the sky that looks to be another ship. "That ain't Decepticon or Autobot I reckon."

You have to agree. It's larger than the dropships and wedge shaped, not the predatory looking ships of the Cons or the blocky Autobot ones.

"What's worse..." he says adjusting the sight. What comes into focus is a gunship, nearly four times your size and matte black. An array of guns are mounted on its nose and its heading your way at speed.

"That don't look good, does it?" Copper says.

You snarl and hand the rifle back to him.

"Copper, you and I and any volunteers will form a defensive line." You raise your voice at the last part. "Gyro," you say pointing at her and making her jump " Take any others and scout us a path out of here that isn't crawling with cons. I want an escape rout ready immediately."

"Time t'stand an' deliver eh?" Copper laughs and jogs off to hand the converter and junky off to a large NAIL.

Three of the NAILs, armed with low grade rifles and a pistol nervously move to join you.

For our stats, I think we should probably dump some points into END and STR. We mostly fight in sharktopus form, which means we're running with its 74 strength rather than our normal 72 dex. It doesn't need to be a huge upgrade, but bringing it to like 80 would offer an noticable bump to effectiveness. END needs to go up because we're awfully squishy if hits actually land, as the underground fight demonstrated.

As Gyro waves the NAILs to the stairwell you and the volunteers rush to the fallen Tramm. Hiding in the car nearest to the exit you believe the gunship will get closest to.

You look over the three NAILs who came with you. One is light red and grey, smaller than any of you with a pair of wheels on the backs of his legs. Another id solid green and about your size. She has wheels on her shoulders and thighs and a scoop on her back. The third is a mix of blue, orange, and silver. She has a turbine on her back.

"Names." you prompt.

"Pins." the small red one says.

"Arclight." the green one replies.

"Dasher." the last one says.

You nod to Dasher, "You fly."

"Uh no sir, just hover."

"Can any of you operate a ship?"

Pins raises his hand.

"Alright here's the plan. Arclight and Dasher run distraction. Copper, "you nod to your friend as he heaves himself into the Tramm car, "Pins and I will get on the ship and try to take it down."

Dasher gulps while Arclight nods.

"Oh Primus." Pins groans.

Copper nudges the two wheeler. "No worries lad, we take th'fight to 'em, they shoot at us less."

You can hear the droning of the gunships' turbines now. It's close.

You hold up a hand, then wave it at Arclight and Dasher when you think the time is right. They bolt from the car and run about in the open, firing out the exit as they do.

A blast of cannon fire strikes the ground but Dasher is able to avoid it. Arclight readies her rifle and blasts at it, only for a rapid spray of energy to rain down on her. She runs for cover with a burnt and smoking shoulder.

so as far as i can tell our upgrade desires are for high dex, high str, better end/armor, 1-2 special ability mods, dragon mode 3rd transformation, and a awesome chainsword for robot melee. i miss anything? also as for our size i think we should go no bigger then Optimus for robot mode and Grimlocks Dino mode for our sharktapus and dragon mode (grimlock was pushing the scale in the g1 pretty high) thoughts?

We're definitely not going to have enough points for all of that, so it's a matter of setting priorities.

Getting either DEX or STR up to 85 should be priority 1. I'm really not kidding, the probability graphs with that upgrade are vastly more favorable to us.

Getting martial arts to 5 should be priority 2, since we use it all the fucking time.

After that I think it's personal preference. My list would be like

X-ray vision
Stealth skill

As they do this you, Copper and Pins make for the exit. Running as fast as you can you get to the wall just ahead of Pins and wait a moment for Copper.

You look each in the optics then make a punching motion out the door.

The three of you bolt out the door. the short platform that extends out along the Tramm rail getting you just in range of the gunship.

Grabbing onto your companions shoulders you teleport.

With a -zzap- you appear, not inside the ship as you expected, but on top. This sets an alarm off in your head since that means there is no room in it.

The three of you land on the gunship hard and Copper immediately slides down the side. He barely manages to grab hold of the edge and dangles precariously over the side. Pins has dropped his rifle in panic and clings to the surface while screaming.

Your feet hit the top and you find yourself disoriented.

Your feet slip out from under you and skip and slide down the side, sailing right off the edge.

Airborne for a moment you spin in the sky. Above you the gunship banks hard then turns sharp, Copper is sent sailing across the roof of the station and out of sight. Pins seems to have kept his grip.

More blaster fire comes from inside the station, pelting the side of the gunship but doing no damage.

You need to do something quick.

He speeds off, past Gyro waiting anxiously at the stairway with Dasher and an injured Arclight. Barreling down the steps he swerves past the other NAILs who jump in surprise. Seeing you fly by all the others transform into their alt modes and race after you.

Perched atop Copper you rumble along with them. Not in exertion but pain. Your maw and throat feel as though you swallowed molten slag.

Though you try to focus on coming up with a strategy you find your mind drifting to other painful memories. The darkness that has consumed you since losing yourself in the slums gnaws at the corners of your thoughts.

Being held down as a murderer goes free. A berserk batch-sister screaming senseless prophesies of doom as Sentry squads move in.
Arresting the same gloating faces over and over.

Back alleys covered in spilled energon.

The face of a hero who knows you've broken, and knew it was coming all along.

Your tentacles tighten around Coppers' turret.

Speeding through the underground you see signs of the battle that had hounded your comrades here. Scorch marks of blaster fire, gaping holes in walls exposing the machinery within, great distorted patches where an intense heat was emitted.

You eventually reach a large chasm. Dark red of oxidized metal covers the to cliff faces. Pale yellow lights line the bridge, though almost half have bee destroyed.

"What's going on? Why have we stopped?" he demands.

"We're gonna take out th'big slaggger." Copper says. " Gonna take out the bridge ah wager." he says turning his turret towards you.

Nodding, you say, "He can't fly anymore, so if we drop him he'll stop being a problem."

"How do we do that?" asks Dasher.

"Ah got two more grenades." Copper offers.

"Not good enough." Gyro says. "Maybe if we rigged them to the converter.."

"I could eat through the supports." you offer.

"With all the acid that rained down we could probably find a pipe from the surface and use that as a trap." Gyro adds.

I feel both of these are viable, though I'm not willing to sacrifice the converter. After we set this up have the group take cover and be ready to fire on the enemy while you and Copper tank the boss.

The group transforms, except for you. Gyro and Dasher begin climbing up the doors' frame while Arclight directs them to a promising spot from below.

The NAIL ringleader scowls and motions the other NAILs to the end of the bridge, intent to cut and run if things go bad. You stop them before they go.

"Does anyone have any medkits?" you ask.

There is a chorus of nos and shaking heads. One NAIL steps forward though.

"I can do minor repairs, if we get materials I mean." he looks nervous and you see the ringleader and a couple other NAILs glare at him. "Might take a while."

You look to the one who stayed and thank him.

"Ahlright, c'mon lad. "Copper says. 'We're gonna find some good scrap, Kracken can start on th'bridge."

You nod to Rewire in thanks as the two of them across the bridge to where an explosion has ripped a section of the far wall down.

"Hey!" you hear Gyro call. "We found an oil pipe. Could use it to fill the converter, and I bet Copper could hit it from across the bridge and light that Con up!"

"Very nice." you call up with a grin.

You decide to get yourself repaired first. Opening your maw Rewire takes a look inside and flinches.

"This i-is going to be uncomfortable." he says.

"That means it's gettin' better." Copper says as you goes and hands one of the grenades to Gyro. The nimbler bot climbs over the railing to set the explosive. Her hand reaches up and Arcligh hands her some wire to attach to the grenade. Meanwhile Dasher is unspooling the rest of the wire along the edge of the bridge and making her way to the other side.

Resting on your coiled tentacles, maw wide with Rewire connecting cables and cutting fused parts with tools from a waist compartment, you can't help but feel hopeful.

As he waits for repairs Copper has picked up the junky and the converter and moved them both out the far door and into the red gloom beyond.

As your mouth is repaired the pain spikes then slowly fades, bit by bit. You see Rewire pick up pieces of scrap and cut them into smaller parts. He then brings them into your mouth and the pain spikes again as he patches the wound.

"There isn't too much I can do." he says from inside your maw. "Without the proper material this is temporary at best." He pulls his head out and you feel around inside with your tongue.

"Hey Copper!" you yell. When his attention is your way you motion to Rewire and he jogs over on his stubby legs.

Feeling better you move to the end of the bridge and nod to Arclight. Gyro and Dasher have taken up positions just inside the red door in case someone comes that way.

You climb over the rail and begin tearing through the supports. After being repaired your work goes much faster.

Then you hear the call of "INCOMING." from where Copper and Rewire are at the center of the bridge.

"Slag." you snarl and end up ripping right through one of the supports in your rush.

Hauling yourself up the side of the bridge you see Rewire run by and Copper slowly jogging backwards. He has a band of metal wrapped around his midsection and one of his shoulder pauldrons ha been removed. Oddly he doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry.

Looking down to the door you came in through stop in confusion.

"Cetus?"

The Cybertronian standing at the other end is one all to familiar to you. Head and shoulders taller than you, with a robust and stocky build, your scientist batch-brother looks the same as he did the day you were forged. His hull is covers with scale-like armour in alternating teal and lime green, and he has a large serrated mantle on his shoulders.

"Hello brother." he calls, though his attention doesn't lift from the data pad in his hands.

I understand the difference between parasitic and symbiotic, but I used the word parasitic to emphasize the fact that they cost something (energon) in the interest of balance we'd probably have a limited amount at a time, like (swarm 100/3 uses) and wile I like the geothermal idea, it might be hard to cram alot of functions into such a small bot. Also they don't really need to be shrimp, just fit the aquatic them and are suitably small, pehaps people would prefer shrimp-squid hybrids (is joke)

Finishing whatever it was he was doing on the data pad he crosses his arms behind his back and looks at you. He has the same cold, judgmental look as the day Scylla was destroyed.

"There is a flood coming, brother. You and I won't drown, but the rest," he motions to your comrades with his chin, "Will be swept away."

Behind him you see movement, and bright purple eyes. The large gunship transformer ducks out of the doorway and stands just behind Cetus.

"I need to make sure you are not compromised." he says and steps to the side. With a lurch the your big pursuer begins marching towards you, missile pods reading and the blades of his hand scissoring the air.

Nodding to you Copper braces his rifle and takes aim.

You wait a moment then prime the grenade. The large Cybertronian picks up momentum as he commits to a full out run a third of the way along the bridge.

"Now!" you yell and heave yourself over the edge of the rail.

Spinning over the edge you sweep under the bridge and wedge the primed grenade in a good spot. Continuing the spin you surge around the other side and whip yourself back up onto the bridge.

You leap back and as you do the far end of the bridge lifts slightly as the grenade goes off then falls. Another leap back gets you clear as the second grenade goes off.

While you do this Copper has shot out the oil pipe at the far end, causing flaming oil to spill over the platform. Unfortunately Cetus has already moved.

In altmode, a long fish like creature, Cetus seems to swim through the air. Looping about he undulates and glides across the chasm at a slow speed.

The other one isn't so lucky. The first explosion caused him to stumble. The second making him fall to his knee before the entire bridge falls out from beneath him.

Without a sound he tumbles into the darkness below.

You and Copper run a few steps before he transforms and charges through the red door with you flying through the air, a pair of tentacles around his turret.

You see the others are already in altmodes ahead of you.

Arclight carries the converter. Gyro the junky.

It's hard maneuvering through the dark red gloom, Dasher and Gyros' speed making them swerve wildly around tight corners while Rewire, in a small car alt seems to have much better handling. Copper and Arclight try to keep up in their bulky forms.

In the straighter passages you sometimes see Cetus gliding silently along behind you, though he seem farther away each time.

You access your commlink. "Gyro, you need to find us a way out of here. Somewhere we can pick up some speed."

"On it." she replies.

The dark red walls of the sub-levels fly past you as you wait for the perfect moment. In the distance you catch glimpses of Cetus writhing through the air.

As your driven through twisting red corridors you see a module of some sort hanging out of the ceiling. You take the shot, sending three energy blasts into it. The module comes crashing down, its cables pulling debris down with it. The tunnel is completely blocked by the junk.

You exhale in relief.

Turning on the comm you say "Alright I think we lost him, Gyro, get us far, far away from here."

You cross your arms over the top of Coppers' turret and rest your head. Things had been spiraling out of control for a while now, and it had just got a whole lot weirder.
