My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. Though I'd like to think that my upbringing was pretty normal, my parents got a really good job offer last year that would force them to move to the opposite end of the country... and that was the end of my "normal childhood." And after reading that weird book that my best friend Mina had sent to my house, I myself can't even be called "normal" anymore.

After all that stuff that happened with Andy, I was too freaked out to go home by myself so Charlotte let me stay at her place again.

And OF COURSE I overslept... maybe it's because I used up so much energy trying to resist perving on Charlotte or possibly because the previous night's Horrible Nightmare caused me to not get enough sleep.

But whatever the reason, I woke up too late for there to be any point in going to school, so I ended up spending the rest of the morning hanging out (and also training a little bit) with Charlotte.

"Well, I'd say that you've pretty much got that trick down," Charlotte says as she collapses on a chair. "Just give me a few minutes to catch my breath..."
"Ehehe, you were trying pretty hard to hit me with those pillows," I say, laughing at her.
"Yes, I kind of got carried away after a while there," she sighs. "Sorry about that."
"No," I shake my head, "it was fun. Kind of like when we play dodgeball in gym class, but without all the stinging welts."

I actually really hate it when we do dodgeball in gym, so I dunno why I enjoyed this little training exercise so much.

"I guess I ought to get going," I say as I walk over to the couch and pick up my bag. "I told Mina that I'd stop by the hospital, and I need to head home to water my plants and change my clothes before I do."
"Oh," Charlotte nods. "Alright. Would you like me to walk you home, or are you going to be okay by yourself?"

"Umm, if you want to," I shrug. "I don't want to eat up all of your time since I know you have a job to do an all..."
"You don't have to worry bout that," Charlotte laughs. "My Branch is such that multitasking is pretty easy for me, all I have to do is have Rhaccy or Loki act as lookouts while I'm with you. And besides, I wouldn't have offered if I needed to be doing something else."
"Okay," I nod.

I don't want her to think that I'm being clingy or anything.

While I go about making sure that I'm not forgetting anything here, Charlotte heads to the balcony... Rhaccy sleeps out there, so I guess she's seeing how he's doing before we leave. So while she takes care of that, I stop by the table and grab a biscuit to munch on while I wait.

Kind of stale, but still pretty good.

"Sorry for the wait," Charlotte says as she hurries over to where I'm standing. "But I'm ready to go whenever you are, so..."
"Alright, let's go," I nod.

With that, the two of us say goodbye to Charlotte's lavish hotel room and begin the long trek to my house.

Can we focus on learning stuff here, Charlotte is the only one who knows stuff that you guys are willing to talk to, so we should try to learn as much as possible.

No. There's spaghetti to be had.
>>
>>33737971

Well, it's not like we've exactly had a ton of opportunities to talk to Irene, is it? We haven't actually seen her since the incident.
>>
>>33737803
We got a headache when we stopped training. So, that. Different powers probably have different overuse symptoms, if I had to guess.

Asking her about Tree of Life would be more useful if we wanted to go into seious mode.
>>
>>33738042
>Implying we can't spaghetti while learning.

This is archelon who is writing this, there is no spaghetti shortage.

>>33738082
We have had several opportunities to talk to her, but we have ignored them.

Seriously we should ask her some stuff (especially about pinwheel guy, hell we could tell her the mafia is in town) she seems to be chill as fuck, she just seems to have run in with the wrong crowd.

Also if he gain her trust she could warn us about shit that is going on, dream or no dream Doritos man is a threat and we could use a warning if he seems to be ready to rampage.
>>
>>33738152
I don't think you can call Irene's crowd the wrong crowd with a sample size of two. Archie is a little overzealous, that's all.
>>
>>33738197
Most people here seem to dislike her organization.

In all serious though, I am somewhat suspicious about Gunther and would like to get info from both people for him and against him.

As a side note we should try to figure out how common the books are. Is this a cartel type situation where there are a ton but 99% are locked up, or are they rarer then a unicorn.
>>
>>33738236
I agree that we should talk to Irene more, but we're going to have to get used to not having multiple sources of information eventually or it's going to bite us in the ass. It's a luxury, absolutely not a requirement.

It's a smooth ride all the way down to the main floor of the hotel, no stops or anything like that. From there, we make our way out into the hotel's lobby... and I cringe as I remember that one really pushy attendant who works here.

Charlotte doesn't seem to be worried at all, but I can just IMAGINE how he'd react to seeing me all dolled up in one of Charlotte's dresses... ugh. But fortunately, he seems to be caught up in bugging another guest here so we're able to get outside without any harassment.

And from here, it's smooth sailing. Hopefully.

>>
>>33738292
My guess is that some happening is coming that is going to kick things off, and we should try to acquire as much info as we can before that.

"Hey, Charlotte?" I turn to her as we walk.
"Hm?" Charlotte replies.
"You said that you don't like Mr. Gauthier... so is there someone that you -do- like?"
"Eh!?" Charlotte stares at me. "N... no, I thought I already told you that I'm single."
"I meant something like a crush or whatever," I reply.

...

......

.........why the hell did I ask that. why why why why whyyyyyyyyyyyy

"Umm," Charlotte starts laughing nervously, "I guess this -is- the kind of thing that girls our age talk about, but I'm not all that used to-"
"Yyyyyou don't have to name names or anything," I stammer. "I was just curious, that's all! And it's not like we know any of the same people, so that wouldn't even matter much unless you like, had a crush on -me-!"

Oh my god I am so stupid I just need to stop talking forever.

>[2/?]
>>
>>33738633
I'm not sure how we could gain lifesaving info from playing both Irene and Charlotte. They're both trustworthy enough to count as routes. We'd be better off training our power than trying to play super spy.

We already decided to take the dishonest route when we lied about the books twice. But we can still talk to Irene, she is bro as fuck and would probably give us some pointers, cover us from the mafia or tell Doritos man to knock it off.
>>
>>33738777
Give us pointers on what? We've already asked her about groups, including Gauthier, and we don't want to tell he about our Branch. If we did tell her, I doubt she'd have any useful advice we couldn't get elsewhere. She's already telling Doritosman to knock it off.

I do want to tell her about the Andy incident.
>>
>>33738870
We don't have to tell her about the Andy incident, that is up to us. And her group has better intel then Gunther's we could probably get some decent training advice.

Also it benefits us to have her like us see:

>Also if he gain her trust she could warn us about shit that is going on, dream or no dream Doritos man is a threat and we could use a warning if he seems to be ready to rampage.

Charlotte just kind of laughs that last comment off, but it doesn't really help me at all with this CRUSHING EMBARRASSMENT that I'm feeling right now. In an attempt from making myself look like any more of a spaz than I already have, I resolve to keep my big mouth shut for the rest of the walk home.

you are a fool

After a while, I breathe a sigh of relief... my house is finally in sight and that means that my days of looking like a moron are at an end for now! I hope!

"Alright," Charlotte says, stopping on the sidewalk just before our driveway. "You've made it back home safely, so I guess I'll be seing you around?"
"Hm?" I turn to her. "You're not gonna come inside?"
"Well all I was doing was walking you home," she shrugs. "And your sister doesn't know me, so having a random stranger in the house at a time like this probably isn't the most desirable of circumstances..."

"Well, umm..." I mumble, "...let me give you a bottle of water for your troubles at least!"
"Eh?" Charlotte seems confused. "You don't have to, I mean-"
"It's the absolute least that I can do for you," I say, shaking my head. "You've fed me a bunch of times and you let me sleep in your bed and I'm even wearing your clothes right now," I say, pointing at the (very pretty) dress that I'm wearing. "Just think of it as my way of not really making it up to you, alright?"
"If you insist," she says, laughing nervously. "I'd feel bad if I left now, anyways."

With a triumphant smile, me and Charlotte head for my front door. But while I'm fumbling around in my backpack for my keys, the door SWINGS open... and I'm met with the sight of my very unhappy sister.

"Cecile, where the hell have you been!?" Allison shouts. "I don't care if you stay over a friend's for the night or skip a day of school or whatever, but the VERY LEAST you could've done is tell me beforehand!"

Oh no.

"My baby sister slipped off to her pretty girlfriend's place for the night so she could play doctor without being disturbed!" Allison laughs.
"W- we did not!" I stammer. "She just let me stay at her place last night and NOTHING HAPPENED so could you please get your mind out of the gutter!"

"Umm, it's okay," Charlotte says, laughing VERY nervously. "It's normal for a big sister to be concerned about such things..."

Charlotte turns to me and smiles... but I have no idea if that's a "your sister's freaking me out" smile or a "your sisterly love is adorable" smile or even an "hahaha I should've known you were a creepy dyke" smile. Dammit, why the hell did Allison have to go and act so freaking WEIRD!?

...I can't deal with this right now.

"Hey, Allison," I say, forcibly pulling her aside as Charlotte watches on. "I'm going upstairs to change out of this dress and I'm leaving Charlotte down here with you. Don't say anything creepy or weird to her while I'm gone, understand?"

I am as serious as I can possibly be right now.

"Yeah, yeah..." Allison sighs. "Don't worry, I won't start telling embarrassing baby stories or anything."
"Good," I reply, turning towards the door... but Alison grabs my arm before I can get away.
"One thing before you go."
"What?" I roll my yes.
"That dress you're wearing belongs to her, right?"
"Yeah, what of it?"

And then she leans in.

"Did you borrow matching panties too?"

It's like my brain hits a snag, I can't even form proper words to respond to what she just said. So instead, my arm does it for me.

BLAM

In a flash, my clenched fist whips out and plants itself right in my sister's stomach. I am not sorry.

The embarrassment I feel right now hurts far more than any punch could.

Ignoring my sister's deserved pain that I inflicted upon my own flesh and blood, I storm up to my room and slam the door behind me. Then I walk over to my bed, collapse onto it, grab a pillow, and scream into it for as long as I can.

I don't care that she's completely right about me wearing Charlotte's panties right now, what kind of thing is that to say to someone!? ...and Charlotte's hearing is really good, what if he heard what Allison said!?

Oh no, she's gonna think that I'm some kind of pervert!

After writhing in my own mental anguish for a good ten minutes or so, I get off of my bed and start the long process of taking this dress off. While I did enjoy wearing it, it's also brought me a great deal of trouble.

Once it's off, I reach into my closet for a spare hanger and hang the dress up, then let out a nice long sigh. I swear, it's like that girl's mastered the art of pressing -just- the right buttons to make me lose it.

And I'm still wearing the lacy underwear that Charlotte lent me. I -could- take it off and throw on a set of my own right now, but... whatever, I'm just gonna keep these on.

It's not like I can return them without washing them first anyways, that's just gross.

After digging out a normal shirt and pants for me to wear, I walk over to my windowsill. And then I realize that I'm standing here in Charlotte's underwear and my blinds are open so any old pervert can see me.........

Nope, no Loki in sight. THANK GOD.

Ducking down, I check on my cute little baby plants and make sure that they've been watered enough, then I scramble over to my bed and get dressed in my own clothes before rising back to my feet.

Alright, time to head back downstairs and pray that Allison hasn't let it spill that I have a crush on Charlotte or anything.

Don't worry CC she is just telling her about the book, besides you basically told her.

I return to the kitchen just as Charlotte gets up from her seat... and she has a cute embarrassed smile on her face-

"Allison, you didn't say anything weird, did you...?" I ask, holding up my fist so she'll understand what she's in for.
"I did nothing of the sort," Allison replies. "I was just asking Charlotte about herself and how you two met, that kind of thing. Did you know that the two of us are the same age?"
"Huh?" I turn to Charlotte. "You're nineteen?"
"I am," Charlotte nods.
"See, I didn't do anything that would give you a reason to SO VIOLENTLY punch your innocent sister in the stomach a second time... "
"You better not have," I say, glaring at her.

Because I'll totally punch her again.

"Christ," Allison sighs. "That really hurt, you know... what if I was pregnant?"
"Yeah right, we both know you're on birth control," I scoff.

Now I -could- tell her all the gory details, but that would probably just freak her out. I mean, she has the right to know and all, but...

"Andy got hurt over at Mina's house yesterday," I say. "He's in the hospital right now so I was going to see how he's doing."

Yeah, that should do it. not lying, just refraining from telling EVERYTHING.

"Oh, he did?" Allison says with a worried look on her face. "I guess I should go out an buy a card or flowers or something... give him my regards when you get there, okay?"
"Alright," I nod.

Time to head out... oh yeah, I shouldn't forget that.

"Before we go," I say, turning to Charlotte, "do you want me to give you back your dress now?" I ask. "I have it hanging up in my room."
"Umm..." Charlotte scratches her head, "no, that's fine. I need to take care of something before I head back to the hotel, and lugging that dress around would get in the way."
"Oh, you're not going to the hospital together?"

Crap, that's right! I totally forgot about how she said that her boss would pay for Andy's medical bills!

"No," Charlotte shakes her head, "I actually have some errands to take care of... will you be okay with going there by yourself?"
"Yeah, it's fine," I nod.
"Okay. Just send me the address and room and all that and I'll meet you there later."
"Will do."

Andy had dreads? Seems I have missed some description somewhere.

>"Before we go," I say, turning to Charlotte, "do you want me to give you back your dress now?" I ask. "I have it hanging up in my room."
Did she forget she's wearing the underwear? Courting disaster.

>>33742428
>"Okay. Just send me the address and room and all that and I'll meet you there later."
Charlotte and Theresa meetup imminent.
>>
>>33742455
There was a character tree going around during the early threads, but I guess the person who made it gave up or quit reading or something.
>>
>>33742368
If you're not on a trial yet, it's mostly going to be sitting around bored, then getting called in, then more waiting, then probably being sent back to sit around some more after you get sent back to pools, so have fun with that.

That said, I just finished sitting on a jury earlier this month, and one of the other jurors ended up getting dismissed mid-trial because he kept falling asleep.

Don't be that guy.

Ostensibly his newborn kid was keeping him up all night, so I don't exactly blame him, but it's still pretty shitty.
>>
>>33742428

"One more thing before we leave," I say as I head to the fridge. "Your water."
"Oh yeah," Charlotte laughs. "I'd completely forgotten after all the drama with you and your sister..."

Ignoring whatever implications that she may mean by that, I grab a bottle of water out of the fridge and toss it to her.

"And now we can go," I say. "Sorry you had to be witness to Allison being Allison..."
"Hey, I'll have you know that I was on my best behavior!" Allison says, pouting. "Have a little faith in your big sister!"
"All of that died a long time ago," I say, sticking my tongue out at her.
"Now, now," Charlotte laughs, "your sister was very nice."
"I certainly hope so," I sigh.

Before something can happen to change that, I take Charlotte's hand and pull her along with me as I head to the front door.

I'd have to stay up for several more days if I was going to fall asleep.
>>
>>33742545
something terrible needs to happen to allison that almost kills her, but luckily she would survive it and be fine

cc would never be a bitch to her again
>>
>>33742579
It's all good-natured teasing until CC gets asked a question she can't answer without embarassment in front of her crush.
>>
>>33742545

"Well I guess it's goodbye for now," I say as we head down my driveway.
"I suppose so," Charlotte replies. "I'll try to get to the hospital soon, though."
"Alright," I nod. "See you later."
"Goodbye."
"Take care, you two!" Allison shouts, waving to us.

I don't want to wave back, but I'd feel like a total jerk if I didn't.

About a block in, me and Charlotte end up parting ways and so I'm forced to walk the rest of the way to the hospital by myself. After more than 24 hours spent around other people, it feels kind of lonely to be by myself... but it's also kind of nice not to have to worry about saying something dumb or making sure that Charlotte doesn't think I'm a pervert or any of that.

Nope, I'm free to walk down the street wearing a set of frilly underwear that a girl I like lent me and not feel like a weirdo at all, nosirree!

...aaaand I just learned that my state of embarrassment has nothing to do with the number of people around me!

Before long, I reach the hospital and dodge a few cars to make it inside the main building. Doing my best to ignore the unpleasant hospital smell, I make my way past the front desk and towards the nearest elevator.

Andrew Wright, room 512. Okay.

After a bit of fumbling on my part, I eventually find a map thingy on one of the walls that tells where everything's supposed to be. Just what I needed!

Down this hall...

Turn this corner...

Aaaaaaand Mina's standing here out in the hallway. She looks pretty distraught, and right next to her is-

"Theresa?" I gasp.

>greet the mina and the theresa!

"How is Andy doing?"
>>
>>33742809
Hi. How is Andy doing?
>>
>>33742809
Give them a update on events, tell them about the mafia, ect.
>>
>>33742809
Hi you two. How's Andy?
>>
>>33742484

I'm still here, but Pinwheel guy and Andy getting into autocannibalism are pretty much the only novelties I can put on it so I procrastinated until some radical change came along.

Did you make rinmaru portraits for the entire cast? That would help a lot.
>>
>>33742809
>How's Andy holding up?
>>
>>33742809
Seriously tell them it seems to be the mafia, this is %110 percent relevant.
>>
>>33742902
It'll get mentioned later in the conversation, relax. Greeting now.
>>
>>33742902
Your really want our first words to them to be "Hey guys, turns out it was the mafia!"? At least wait until we're done visiting him and we're by ourselves, who know who could be listenening in out in the hallway.
>>
>>33742930
I was implying that we would ask what the doctor said and such to start but they do need to know.

P.S. What time is it, did Theresa skip school?
>>
I think this is a decent time to end the thread for the night.
This one was fun with spaghetti and sister punching, and hopefully I'll be able to get to HAPPENINGS next time.

The next thread will be on Tuesday night, with another False Dendrite.

And now I take questions while doing laundry.

All ingredients can be found at Trader Joe's, though they can probably also be acquired at other grocery stores depending on your location.

Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.

Start with naan. Grate cheese over it (I prefer Manchego) and place your choice of meat on top of that. Apply a second layer of cheese, and another layer of meat on top of that. Sliced meats and/or bacon work best due to the layering, but if you're willing to experiment I won't stop you.

Bake for ten minutes. Wait five to ten seconds to cool before eating, more if you're a pansy.
>>
>>33742951
What did Allison and Charlotte talk about?

At what point did Charlotte realize CC liked her? She has to have by now.

Why do you keep doing greeting votes? Is there anyone who likes them?
>>
>>33742902
That should probably wait until we're not just chilling in the hallway outside Andy's hospital room. Or inside Andy's room either. The Branch user who mucked with Andy's brain might be aware that his mental trap was triggered, meaning he or his mafia pals could be watching Andy.
>>
>>33742951
Have you ever been in #yuri-ism under the name Maou_Zenigame? I swear I've seen you in the channel before, but neither the regulars nor the bots remember you. My memory's probably faulty, but I'd just like to confirm.

Aye. CC is many things, but subtle isn't really one of them.

>>
>>33742951

>>
>>33743028
It's kinda like pizza, except without any sauce. From bottom to top, you have naan, cheese, meat, cheese, and meat. Pretty simple, really.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that you should probably put this on a cookie sheet or something. Putting it in the oven bare would make it a bit more toasty than desired.
>>
>>33743198
What do you have against sauces, to slight them so?
>>
>>33743217
Nothing, I'm just lazy.
>>
>>33742868
>I'm still here, but Pinwheel guy and Andy getting into autocannibalism are pretty much the only novelties I can put on it so I procrastinated until some radical change came along.
>Did you make rinmaru portraits for the entire cast? That would help a lot.
Umm, I think I've made them for everyone aside from the sidestory characters.
And the mafia guy.

>>33742983
>What did Allison and Charlotte talk about?
Seemingly benign things that Allison somehow made embarrassing.

>>33742983
>At what point did Charlotte realize CC liked her? She has to have by now.
I'll leave this up to the imagination for now.

>>33742983
>Why do you keep doing greeting votes? Is there anyone who likes them?
It is my way.

>>33743003
>Have you ever been in #yuri-ism under the name Maou_Zenigame? I swear I've seen you in the channel before, but neither the regulars nor the bots remember you. My memory's probably faulty, but I'd just like to confirm.
Maybe? Thats the name I use everywhere but here, and I did used to run a (mostly) yuri scanlation group back in the day.

>>33743050
>How sad are you when you have to resort to final destination voting?
Sometimes it's amusing, but having to do it twice in a day is just a pain in the ass.
Especially when it results in a second tied vote.

>>33743057
>Is there a "branch" with access to the whole tree?
Nope. That would be WAY too overpowered, don't you think?

>>33743063
>Are false dendrites worse than true dendrites? Why or why not?
They are worse because Reasons.

>>33743147
>If the main character was Charlotte, would the story be named True Dendrite? What about Irene?
No and no.

>>33743179
>Did you use a stop watch for timing?
No, just the computer clock.
Posting lag would render a stopwatch pointless, anyways.

And now it is time for me to sleep.
Thanks for playing!

Oh I knew what you were describing, I was just confused at the random recipe for flatbread meat melt.

I'll probably try it though.
>>
>>33743240
>Nope. That would be WAY too overpowered, don't you think?
Depends, it could be something along the lines of copying the powers of the last branchholder you were in physical contact with.
>>
>>33743240
>Nope. That would be WAY too overpowered, don't you think?
It's not like this is a PvP video game or something. Something overpowered can be used without worry in a narrative.
>>
>>33743343
This is very much a PvP setting. An overpowered Branch would basically be a kingmaker for an organization, and that's just no fun.

Plus it's lazy. It's way cooler to think of a lot of overpowered Branches than go "This Branch has the power of ALL THE BRANCHES!"
>>
>>33743362
No, it's not. The only player is this board, and we are playing CC. Everyone else is an NPC under the control of the quest master and used for the purposes of creating a compelling plot. Not to stomp the player.
