“Good thing it was a warning shot,” you commented, “Floor it.”

“Whatever you say,” he shrugged, “At least I get to test the new gearbox.”

He shifted up again and depressed the pedal as you stuck your neck out to get a better view of the machine in pursuit. It maintained a chase position as once more it launched more projectiles at you. They were blurs but it was enough for you to visually distinguish them in the night. It didn’t take much to alter their trajectories either. A small shove they were sent sailing harmlessly past you. Whoever was operating the robot behind you countered by doubling the projectile count. It was impossible for you to hit them all and Toulour compensated by swerving out of the way of the ones that got through. However some of them didn’t even land anywhere close.

You figured they were trying to overwhelm you when all you had to do was prioritise, which was trickier but certainly doable once you identified their trajectories. In response, the machine disappeared in to thin air.

What the hell?

Torikov pulled you back in to the car.

“What now?” you asked.

He pointed up ahead. The same machine that had been chasing you was now out in front.

“Optical camouflage,” Toulour explained, “you might want to hang on, now we’re going to have to leave the highway for real.”

He pressed a button the dashboard before the highway wall exploded. You did as you were told. It felt like your stomach was going to fly out of your mouth as the Chevy flew off the highway and on to a nearby street. The landing shook you out of it though. You almost hit the dash but otherwise were no worse for wear.

“This is your stop,” Toulour scrambled to get you out, “We’re just a few blocks away from the meet up point anyway. I’ll draw it away.”

You nodded and got out, taking cover in a nearby alley as Toulour drove off. The pursuing machine landed shortly after he left and followed.

You walked swiftly, gun in tow. You were the first to arrive, seeing as no one had arrived yet. That was more than enough to set up some alarm bells off in your head. It was secluded rail terminal and the train was about to leave soon. You reached for your pistol and disengaged its safety. It was surprisingly silent out this time of the night.

Picking up the sound of crunching gravel, you turned around, pistol up towards it. It was the figure of a middleschooler. The orange jacket hoodie was familiar.

“Yo, I’m super psyched to meet ya here again,” said Kinuhata Saiai.

You had to wonder where everyone else was.

“Thought that escaping was going to be easy huh?” she asked, “Well I have super bad news for you.”

So they obviously know about our train plan. So even if we get on it, it probably won't move. And if it does, it'll go about 5 feet before blowing up.

Great.
>>

TK her hoodie backwards with all the force we can apply. When she's coughing due to the strain on her throat start tossing small things at high velocities towards her head.

Uh, guys. She can manipulate air currents as well with her ability, she's done it before. And it takes way more force than we can output to knock her away or put pressure on her throat.
>>

Pick her up with TK and throw her as far as we can, then make tracks.

>>
>>33735766
We'll try stalling for time. If someone else gets here it should be good.
>>
>>33735983
I'm pretty sure she is mostly limited to close range for that though. I don't think she has ever hit too far out. But it's been forever since I read scenes with her.
>>
>>33736028
No. Taking 7 shots from an automatic AC shotgun that can literally shred an armored car into bits would be bad.

She can shrug off shots that can pierce clean through tanks without moving at all.
>>
>>33736028
It's virtually impossible for us to hurt her, think Accelerator tier defensive ability.
>>
>>33736087
Not nearly that high, but from our point of view it might as well be.
>>
>>33736028
That was for a big ass gun. Tiny little gun won't do it. We need something like a AT rifle.
>>
We can hurt her feelings
>>
>>33735766
Surender.
>>
>>33736124
So time for smack talk?
>>
>>33736109
Yeah like theoretically we could just grab her and slam her into the ground with TK or the likes because all she really has is her solidify nitrogen. Unlike Accel who can just ignore even the attempts to hold him.
>>
Does she have a sense of shame? would TKing her clothes off distract her long enough?
>>
>>33736165
That doesn't seem like a great idea.

It's not like she can't use her nitrogen control on herself. She can stabilize herself whenever she wants.

Also she carries handheld rocket bombs like Frenda, and she can hit people 500 meters away from her with them while on the move.
>>
>>33736165
But slamming her into the ground won't really hurt her, that's the problem. We can stop her from attacking us, but not much more.....it's a deadlock.
How this plays out is decided by wether Asuka or someone from ITEM arrives first.
>>
>>33736249
Given AC knows exactly where we are and apparently exactly what our plan was, i'm not entirely certain what we're even doing at this point.

We're kind of already done. This plan really only had a chance of success if we got outside the city before they started chasing us and releasing their horrific tech.
>>
>>33736249
What's stopping us from running away while we stop her from attacking us?
>>
>>33735766
Is she light enough for us to just like... idk chuck her really far?
>>
>>33736302
We can only manipulate things up to a distance of 100 meters. She is most likely armed and can take us out from that distance.
>>
Is there any reason we can't just throw her a few blocks away? From the wiki writeup her power seems really poorly designed, but whatever; if she can be knocked around by impacts then her aero-armor transmits force to her, which is dumb, but, well, like real armor.
>>
>>33736327
Not really. She probably weighs about 50 kg. Our max weight limit is a little under 300 I think.

We can probably toss her like 10 meters max. She can cover that distance in one step.
>>
>>33736298
We were kind of already done, when we decided to flee.
>>
>>33736374
If her power protects her from impact we can TK her clothing and spin her to get her up to speed and toss her a good distance.
>>
>>33736445
Her power covers her clothes as well.

And since our TK is a "invisible hand force" kind of deal, it'd have to pierce her nitrogen armor to do that.
>>
>>33736445
rotate her till she gets dizzy and nauseous?
>>
>>33736365

>Nitro Armor
>Armed

Nope,
>>
>>33736479
Who says you can't grab the armor?
>>
>>33736486
She carries a handgun and those little rocket bombs Frenda liked. And she's kind of scary accurate. She can hit a tiny target several hundred meters away while in a moving car with a gun, and accurately hit people with those crazy rocket bombs from a long distance.
>>
>>33736486
>>33736224
She uses weapons and is skilled with them.
>>
>>33736416
I got a brilliant idea. Lets grab her and move her in circles over and over to pick up speed before tossing.
>>
So why didn't she blow up Asuka when they fought?
>>
We could also try to psych her out by shooting ourselves in the head. I bet she won't be expecting that.
>>
>>33736578
Maybe she was having fun dueling the swordsman before we interrupted.
>>
>>33736479
The armor itself can just be picked up.
>>
>>33736578
It would have been pretty stupid using explosives during QCQ in a closed room.
>>
>>33736570
Brilliant, unless she takes any action at all to resist. She's armed with explosives and guns that she can fire with psychotic accuracy man.

Hell she can literally take off her shoe and throw it at us hard enough to take our head off or go through our chest.

And at best that will get her 50-100 meters away. She'll be back in a few seconds.
>>
>>33736762
no, at best we'll be throwing her at over 200mph. That's the optimistic calculation, but 100m is if we didn't throw her at all and just picked her up and dropped her at the edge of our range.

You lowered your gun. Guns didn’t work on her. Telekinesis was thus your solution but for some reason it just wouldn’t take on her directly. It did take on her clothes though so you worked with that, pulling the hoodie over her eyes.

“Oi!” she was surprised.

It was a momentary victory. Whatever Ability she had, she was using it to interfere with yours. Direct TK didn’t work then, you looked around for something to smack her around with. There was only gravel. To make things worse she pulled a pistol. You only managed to spoil her aim at the last moment. So her Ability was either limited to herself or was really short ranged. You weren’t sure which and you didn’t want to stick around to find out as you kept a telekinetic grip on her gun.

“Where are my friends?”

“Oh them? They were super scared of me so they ran off somewhere,” she answered, “You’re not so hot without your girlfriend huh?”

She let go of the gun and charged. You jumped over her, boosting your height and landing on the train. She had to manually climb up which bought you some time to run towards the head. If anything it looked like the train was behind schedule. That meant the lads would have been forced to operate the train themselves if they weren’t already. By the time Kinuhata caught up, the train lurched forward, almost tripping up the both of you. It was starting to move, looks like you were correct after all. You kept running forward. The train might have been for cargo but even those could move fast and then you wouldn’t want to be on the roof when that happened. Kinuhata made better time than you though, catching up faster due to her strange Ability.

[1/2]
>>
>>33737182
The train kept picking up speed and looked to approach a warehouse of some kind. Perhaps they would be something in there for you to grab and use against her. Then again the train itself was full of cargo but then there wasn’t much room down there.

Can her armor protect her from napalm?

>>33737867
does it protect against heat?
>>
>>33737867
It protected her from a bunch of exploding propane tanks, so probably.
>>
>>33737867
Pretty much the best way to win is though fire something like tossing her in front of a train at full speed. Anything less and it might hurt a little.

And fire only would really work due to Convective heat transfer.
>>
>>33737867
It can't protect her from lack of breathable air. Also her armor comes from the nitrogen in the air, so depriving her of that would help.
>>
>>33737936
And before I forget we would need to hold the fire on there for a long long time.
>>
>>33737867

It won't work. She's basically what happens if you turn a climate control power up to eleven.

Fire's a non issue.
>>
>>33737950
Nah, she's thought of that. She has a bunch of little tubes on her full of nitrogen in case anyone destroys the air around her. Doesn't help her breathe, but it lets her keep using her powers.
>>
>>33737950
So what you are saying is we need lots of explosions.
>>
>>33737995
Really? Damn. Forgot about that.

>>33738020
If we had Zappy Dan or a few of her clones (due to time constraints and the need to lock down the wind turbines) we could try creating a ton of ozone, but that's not feasible given the current situation.
>>
I don't get why Asuka would run from her, her ability is the perfect counter.
>>
>>33738166
It wouldn't surprise me if Kinuhata was immune to it.
>>
>>33738166
She didn't need to win, just needed keep her busy and then GTFO.
>>
You didn’t want to get trapped in an enclosed space with her. Her fight with Asuka was testament to the amount of damage she could do. It was because of her Ability and you weren’t Asuka. You remained on the roof. If you had to you’d jump off but ideally she’d be the one leaving the train and not you. She didn’t have a mean of catching up quickly and if she did then you were right fucked. The train was headed out west going through School District 17 but sadly did not go anywhere near Number 3’s junkyard. It did go pass a warehouse though and from atop the train you made out a few crates that looked heavy. They weren’t made of steel though it was enough to blindside her. She managed to grab hold of the edge at the last moment, digging in with her Ability as it tore holes in the train car’s steel roof.

The crate had been carrying several giant metallic cogs twice your width. They looked solid and sturdy so you managed to grab one before they all got carried away. By now the speed was enough to make walking difficult but you were holding on somehow. The time you bought gave you time to think. It gave you an idea. Whilst Kinuhata was busy trying to climb back up, you were going to try and decouple the car. It was a classic trick from many movies. You didn’t see why it wouldn’t work here. In fact, decoupling seemed simple enough. It was a matter of disengaging various mechanical locks. Most of it was easily done by hand, and you kept your improvised weapon at rest against the door of the car. It was the last one that was giving you trouble. No matter how you pushed and pulled it wasn’t budging and you were tempted to use your Ability. You didn’t really have the time to ponder as Kinuhata poked her head in to view. It looked like she was going to pounce.

>Smack her in the gob first
>Decoupling the car came first
>>
>>33738182
Guess it's possible. Esper mental abilities don't magically appear within someone's head, they have to actually travel to the target (through EM waves if Misaki is any indication). A thick barrier of nitrogen could interfere with the signal.

You needed more time. Thus you needed to create more space and what better way than smacking her right in the gob? Back when you first met her, you knew that she could be blown away if struck with a heavy high speed object. You were just going to have to bank on this your improvised projectile was going to be enough as you flung it at her as fast and hard as you could. It caught her mid jump and sent her sailing back out of sight for now. If you were going to make sure she didn’t catch up you had to decouple the cars. Now that you didn’t have to worry about her though, that was easily done as you watched it drift slowly away. You took a minute to slow your breathing.

That was just one of many obstacles. You weren’t sure why she was alone either. Wasn’t she part of ITEM, or was this just her going solo? Somehow you doubted it was the latter. It was with these questions in your mind that you finally made it to the engine car. Stepping inside, you found the rest of the Problem Children, and Last Order inside. Most of them looked like they went through a hell of a fight, especially Asuka. Her clothes were singed and bloodied. She was still breathing though, asleep as she was along with Last Order in the driver’s seat. Beside them was Sagara who was the one actually paying attention to the controls.

“We’re real glad you could make it and everything,” Sagara turned around.

“Tell me we’re still on track,” you said.

He nodded. Of course, if he had been looking ahead, he would have noticed that you were approaching a bridge. There wouldn’t have been cause for concern if electricity didn’t arc about in the middle of it. The figure illuminated by the lightning could only be none other than Sparky.

At least it was a close loss, so it shouldn't fuck us up too badly.

If we're able and have the opportunity to talk:
If it's about Mishka... I know I haven't had the best track record, so if you think she'll be safer here, then go ahead. But you know where she came from. Don't you think they'll want her back eventually?

The momentum of the train should keep us going for a bit if she fries all the electrical parts.

"I caught her sword with my shoulders for some thugs."

"Now go to sleep kiddo! There's no such thing as monsters.. except for Great Grandma, your Grandmother's family, and auntie Mikoto when's mad."

"But what about Grandm-"

"Shh! She might hear you."
>>
>>33740163

"grandad, I asked the girl i liked on a date but i don't know what to do"
"go down to the ally s and find some thugs to beat up."
"I don't know i ca-"
"not your speed? alright go meet this guy i know he'll set you up with some good stuff then you guys can hit up this underground gambling house, it'll be romantic!"

You told Sagara to take cover. If there was someone you were going to face head on it would be Sparky. You had already gone all it, the least you could do was look her straight in the eye if she stood in your way. Sliding the door to the cabin open, you hung yourself out the side, steadily looking forward. She had to know. It wasn’t just you on the train and she was still standing there waiting for a train to hit her? And just like that she struck. The wave of electricity surged forward, roiling with energy and when it struck, it lit up your nerves like never before. It was harsher than simply buzzing, or even Teacher’s weird procedure.

Your body was on fire as the energy coursed through you, and through the train. But you hung on. You hung on until you were no longer able to, despite the sounds of pops and cracks in the air. Your grip eventually slackened as her attack ended, to your silent horror. As you slipped your arm was grabbed by another.

“Hey now, don’t leave us hanging boss,” Tadakuni remarked.

He, along with Kyousuke had caught you. The train slowed. She had knocked out the engine. It wasn’t a big deal. The train should still have enough momentum to make it out of the city regardless. Sparky stood aside as the train sped by her. She obviously wasn’t looking very happy with you. Using her Ability to stand upright along the wall of the cargo cars was just showing off at this point.

Episode 56 End. I’m really falling asleep here.

The End. Kyril’s story isn’t over. But will he get a happy end? When writefag and /tg/ meet, the story begins.

Wait, did Misaka actually get on the train? That could be either very good or very bad for us.
>>
>>33740420
maybe she's come to join us?
>>
>>33740420
If she is on board she might screw us over by messing with the wheels' magnetism.
>>
>>33740488
>>33740490
I dunno if she's even on board, since
>Sparky stood aside
implies she didn't, but
>stand upright along the wall of the cargo cars
might mean that she did. I just don't know!

The line "Using her Ability to stand upright along the wall of the cargo cars was just showing off..." might mean that she is standing horizontally on the wall that the cargo cars are passing by.
