As you drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, Ranthix turns to you. “SO SPAWNLING, WHERE AM I TAKING YOU ANYAWY?”

You idly watch the Pacific Ocean stretch out below you, seeming to meet up with the sky a million miles from where you are. A huge cargo ship passes by under the bridge as you drive over it, giving you an interesting view of the containers stacked up on its deck. You look forward and see San Fransisco loom before you. Where are you going?

Three things I'd like right now: learn of angels, get more fit, and learn to swim. And learn not to rage. Okay, four things.

“Home,” you answer. Your cellphone starts ringing with a call from Isaac, which is kind of funny, because you were about to call him. You flip it open. “What’s up, Isaac?” you ask.

“Hello Sierra. I know how you don’t like being caught by surprise, so I thought I would give you a call.”

“So, what is it?”

“My cousin in law… once removed – is that right? Good. My cousin decided to surprise us with a visit,” says Isaac in a cheery tone. “Make sure to look your best when you come home. She’s excited to meet you. She knows you’re a landmaster, already, so you don’t have to worry about keeping that a secret.”

What he doesn’t say means more than what he has. What she doesn’t know is that you’re hellborn, and you probably do have to worry about keeping that secret. Anyway, the way he’s talking sounds kind of not normal. His cousin person is probably in the room with him. “Got it,” you say flatly. “So she’s demonbane, then?”

“She’s an angel,” says Isaac. “Don’t interrupt your plans if you had them, though. She’ll be here all week.”

You puzzle over this predicament. Why’d Isaac’s cousin whatever decide now of all times to drop by? You’ve never even heard Isaac mention his extended family before. (+3 Stress: 9/100)

We can't exactly skip the entire week, that'll just make her suspicious. Well, more suspicious because I doubt she doesn't already think something strange is afoot.
>>
>>33720581
An angel? Oh fantastic! FANTASTIC! And all week too. Oh man, this is going to be awesome. Maybe we should bunk with Ranthix or the Crowthers.

>I’ll make sure to uh… look good before I show up.
>Why’s she here?
>Other: Mention it to Ranthix.

It's like playing with fire!
>>
The Hallows, of course. Let's go home and get ready for school the next day.

But we should call Moriah when we get there and gossip like a teenage girl who wants to share her power-ups with her bestie.

Who can help us get stronger, and fight beasts like Ranthix? I mean, he's good for training, but we're going to fight completely different from how he goes about it. I think we should ask Waldric, and also Deletrious Crowther.

Or at least ask Mr. Crowther if he knows anyone who could teach us. Seriously dissappointed in our attempt to manipulate Ranthix's emotions during training, so we should learn how to be both more effective at that, and how to resist it since it's kind of fucked us before.

I want to say, pre-emptively, that we should not get too close to her. Angels apparently have a pretty serious case of "the only good demon is a dead one" and it's been stated numerous times that the Hollow family is an exception.

Maybe ask her for tips on how to protect ourselves against demons, or stuff like that, or about the angelic realm, but always play dumb and maybe a little scared.
>>
>>33720678
I agree but staying the fuck away all week would probably maybe likely make her suspicious. Show ourselves once and then get the fuck out of dodge. That's how I'd like to do it anyway.
>>
Ok. People who want to go meet her now, what if she asks us about landmaster stuff? The only thing we know is the familiar summon and our familiar is obviously demonic as fuck.
>>
I don't know how good our chances would be, but I would say that we should not avoid her. Keep our nature secret yes, but if we show that we are a good person at heart then she might not be come down on us so hard when the word eventually gets out.
>>
>>33720706
Guess we could talk how great it feels to be in the woods, to feel everything around in your domain. Unless that's not how regular human landmasters work. I don't know, make shit up.

>It's cool, I guess
>>
>>33720706
I think we're looking at "aura" issues here. Does it have a demonic aura, or does it just LOOK demonic. There are some pretty terrible things in nature. Maybe the smartest thing is to get a list of our concerns about it, and then talk to Borislav about it. Kind of a shame we just left him behind, and if he can't be reached by phone then my second suggestion is the Magister. Hell, Crowther might even know more about the demonic aspect of our landmastery.
>>
>>33720766
I assume the glamour masks our Fuck Me She's Gon Explode aura. I think Moriah said something that more or less confirmed it.
>>
>>33720581
>I’ll make sure to uh… look good before I show up.
>>
>>33720766
I don't really care whether or not it has a legit demonic aura, the imp looks demony as fuck and I do no want to show it off to the angel cousin.
>>
>>33720792
I'd not show the imp to anyone. It's a sad little thing.
>>
>>33720816
Hey! It was just stated in the last thread that the more we summoned it, the smarter it got.

If it does somehow come up, though, we can go the so obvious it's crazy route and pretend that we're scared of it and how it looks, and what it represents and that's why we didn't mention it.

But seriously, the issue is that we honestly don't KNOW enough about landmaster powers to know what not to talk about. Ask lots of questions and play dumb is our best bet, don't say anything she hasn't said already. It's like talking to a cop.

Hopefully, she'll say she doesn't know anything about Landmasters either. If she recommends someone, say that we're learning from one already but we just started.

Oh, and I think we should be careful as fuck to not actually lie. For some reason, lying to an angel just seems like it'll get us caught. Evade, half-truths, etc.
>>
Isaac is still on the phone, we can just ask him if we should sit this one out. If he says she's cool, than anything that happens because of it is on his head. Plus I just really want to meet an angel
>>
“Why’s she here?” you ask. This doesn’t seem like something that would happen out of the blue.

“She found out about our fight with Meckor He didn’t exactly die quietly. Anyway, she decided to help me find Philostrathus and finish cleaning up the mess,” he says.

You mull this over. “So, it’s a good thing?”

Isaac’s answer is vague. “It’s definitely a new development,” he answers.

"This isn't one of those angels that smites you for jaywalking, is it?"

"No, she's more of the jaywalking type, to be honest. You'll probably like her."

You consider this. Well, maybe it won't be all that bad. “Okay, thanks for the heads up,” you say. “I’ll be sure to… you know, look good and powder my nose or whatever before I show up.”

“All right. Have a safe trip, Sierra. See you soon.”

“See you,” you answer. You hang up. “There’s an angel in my house.”

“AND THERE ARE FOUR DEMONBANE. IF YOU ADDED UP THEIR ANGELIC BLOOD, IT WOULD TOTAL TO LIVING WITH ONE ANGEL ALREADY ANYWAY,” says Ranthix. “DON’T THEY LIKE YOU FOR SOME REASON?”

“Well, I don’t know about the angel lady,” you say.
>>
>>33721008

“SO LONG AS SHE ISN’T ONE OF THOSE ONES WITHOUT EYES, YOU SHOULD BE JUST FINE,” Ranthix tells you, perhaps trying to reassure you. “IF YOU CAN WHEEDLE INTO THE HEART OF ONE BUTCHER, YOU CAN BUTCHER YOUR WAY INTO ALL THEIR WHEEDLING HEARTS AND MAKE THEM BLEED TEARS OF INFINITE COMPASSION.”

You give him a kind of weird sideways look. “Yeah. Right,” you say. “I’ll try doing that.”

--

Ranthix pulls up in front of the Hallows house, and puts the hummer in park. He’s blocking off the entire road, but he doesn’t seem to care. He looks over at you. “I CAN LIE IN WAIT NEARBY IF YOU FEEL THERE WILL BE CONFLICT,” he offers. “I’LL RIG A WALL WITH BREACHING CHARGES AND COME IN THE MOMENT YOU GIVE THE SIGNAL.”

>Yeah, I’m not so sure that would work. I’m pretty sure the Hallows have some kind of crazy magic shield or something on their house.
>Thanks for the offer, but you’d do better by just getting out of sight.

I think Languid just messed up there and said four instead of three.

The blood adding up to one full angel works, though
Isaac - 50% angel
Ro - 25%
Harvey - 25%
Total - 100%
>>
>>33721088

But then he also says their blood adds up to 1 angel.

Isaac is half, the two Hallow kids are one fourth each.

Maybe Ranthix just sucks at math?

“Yeah, don’t do that,” you say. “They’ve got some shield or something that would probably fry you if you tried. Thanks for the offer, but you should probably just get out of sight.”

“SO BE IT,” says Ranthix.

You check yourself one last time in the mirror, just to make sure you’ve covered all your bases. Bases covered, you exit the hummer, bid farewell to Ranthix, and walk up to the front door, and head inside.

There’s a pair of boots in the entryway that you’ve never seen before. They’re caked with dried mud. You hear conversation from the living room, so you head that way.

One of the voices you don’t recognize. It sounds like it belongs to a woman, and it has a coarse, rough quality to it. “-invest in a Kriss gun. You can put more rounds on target in half the time with twice the accuracy,” she says.

“You’re exaggerating,” Harvey replies.

“You bet I am. But it’s worth exaggerating about, kid.”

When you go into the room, you find, Cass curled up I the corner of the two seater, and Harvey sitting on one end of the sofa. The other end is occupied by a woman you’ve never seen before.

She has a look of carelessness about her. Her gray hair is cut short, shorter than Isaac’s even. It’s not the same shade of silvery white that the other Hallows sport – more of a darkish, iron gray color. It looks kind of cool, but at that length all you’d have to do is sit up out of bed to look good.
>>
>>33721717

Her eyes share a similar metallic shade of gray, with dark lines of fatigue worn in around them. Her features are all pretty distinctive – no way she’d ever blend into a crowd. Besides her hooked nose, she has solid, square shoulders, and sports a number of scars that look like something a boxer might pick up.

She wears a short leather jacket and a white tank top with an undershirt tank top thing? Seems kind of redundant to you. She also wears a pair of torn up jeans and a belt with an airplane seatbelt buckle as the clasp, and is laid way back in a deep slouch on her end of the couch, one arm up on the armrest, and the other hooked behind the back.

Her eyes fix on you when you come in, and her sour expression lightens, but only for an instant.

Cassandra looks over at you, and smiles. “Hey, Sierra. This is Bronwyn Sattler. She’s… Isaac’s....”

“Step cousin,” Sattler provides, smirking at herself as if laughing at an inside joke. “Once removed.”

>Sit somewhere.
>So, Brownwyn, right? You know I’m a landmaster, and I know you’re an angel and stuff, so let’s see it.
>And I’m Sierra. I bet you’ve heard all about me.
>So that means she’s my step second cousin, through adoption. Got it. That makes us practically sisters.

The wording of it is kinda iffy.
>Damage normally dealt by the weapon is temporarily changed to Corrupting for the next attack.

Does that mean for the next shot only? For a short time limit? If it's the latter, does it start counting down before you shoot? Is it actually some other thing?

There's lots of ways that this could go weird. The fine points of how exactly Stain of Sin works could change it so that shotguns are better, or so that smgs would be better, or that using guns is stupid and claws are best.

Get her one of these.
>>
You step into the room and throw yourself into an empty chair. “And I’m Sierra. I’m big news around here,” you say.

The angel’s face remains stoic. You think she’s hiding a smile though, because you feel a kind of stifled bemusement radiating from her. “Big news indeed,” she says, almost apathetically.

“We were just talking about guns,” says Harvey. “Future guns, made of boxes.”

“Okay sure, they have a weird silhouette, but once you shoot one, you’ll buy one,” Sattler replies.

Cassandra seems interested. “I’ll have to see about getting my hands on one next time there’s a gun show in town,” she says. “I don’t like buying weapons I haven’t tried out beforehand.”

“Hell, you want to try one out, I have one in my bag,” says the angel, jerking her head in the direction of the doorway. “Take it out back and shoot out your neighbor’s windows if you’d like.”

Harvey goes to stand.

Cassandra gives him a pointed look to sit back down, which he does.
>>
>>33722206
Well now you just made me think of Hellborn Quest: The Movie, starring Ellen Page, and now I'm very sad.
>>
>>33722241

Harvey grins smugly to himself and winks at you, which makes you somewhat apprehensive. He’s kind of unpredictable sometimes. You really can’t tell if he’s actually planning on taking Isaac’s cousin up on the offer or not, not that it would really bother you if he did. You’d just want to be there to watch, or maybe shoot one out yourself.

“So Bronwyn, how much does one of those guys run, price wise?” you ask, interest piqued.

“A couple hundred shy of two kay. But I’ve burned cash on worse,” she replies. “And call me Satt. Bronwyn’s my slave name.”

Harvey coughs to stop himself from responding from the comment.

Sattler gives no indication she’s joking, but you can still feel the muted humor seeping off of her.

>Chuckle heartily.
>So what kind of angel are you, Satt?
>Have you ever met Isaac before?
>You ever meet a landmaster before?
>Lay it on me. What have these knuckleheads been telling you about me behind my back?

But more dakka.

Just get auto shotgun with a under barrel rocket and/or launcher(s) (multibarrel).

Fuck the pistol sidearm, if something get's past more dakka shotgun, sidearm wont help.

Unless we're disarmed because in this quest melee and magic are an actual thing.

Or if we need to conceal something while surrendering or leaving behind our primary.

Sidearms might not see too much use in modern military engagements, but they actually are a valuable thing to have.

That's what the sword is for.

We should get some anti disarming wards on the gun. The angels use guns, so they should have something like that. Besides if we are disarmed we be ether shot upon, or engaged in melee. If someone can magically disarm us, he can probably do it again anyway (or can magically fuck us up otherwise).

Well I am not saying that backup gun is a bad idea, but more dakka is better idea. Besides, we can probably have both.

So What are our options for more dakka?

Also ech some shit into bullets, and magic up the gun.

Ask about magicking up the gun for you.

Maybe show off our magical sword? She is the sword angel, right? She could teach us stuff about sword care, and sword magic.

Or we drop the gun while injured and have to draw a sidearm after we withdraw.

Or our primary gun gets damaged during one of the endless sources of explosions we have.

Or someone has the PP to magically disarm our primary weapon, but not enough to knock away our sidearm.

Or we need to smuggle our sidearm into somewhere.

There are TONS of situations that warrant a sidearm.

My real point, though, is that aside from a primary weapon, our sword, and a sidearm, it starts getting silly and counter-productive to cart around additional weapons.
>>
>>33722531
We're talking about things to have instead of a rifle or SMG, which are a lot more effective at killing someone dead at medium ranges quickly and effectively than our Infernus powers, which furthermore cost PP to use.

So I presume that the main risk of Cousin /k/ is that as part of her cleanup operation she stumbles across Wally, Ranthix or the Crowthers, also possibly us but less likely as we didn't take the fief. Preserving Waldo in this case is probably the easiest, since Halth would just wind up sending a replacement if he bites it and it's in our interest to leave the fief under the squishy coward who betrayed Meckor because he just wants a nice peaceful town to raise a family in.

Also the risk that Philo rats on us
>>
>>33722547
We should cart around grenades (smoke, flash, exc).

Because cheaper than fireballs, and smoke is good for shadows.

Also we need something to kill lights. EMP Grenades (microwave coil + battery)? Any other suggestions?

I definitely agree on a variety of grenades (while on tacticool missions, not most of the time). When we can use mundane weapons perfectly effectively without pissing away PP, we probably should.

EMP grenades aren't a thing, though, and the thing you suggested wouldn't work. Maybe Zelathis can blast electronics?

It was a cool weapon, but most of the Americans who actually saw battle were using French and British weapons. It was cheaper and easier to arm soldiers with weapons supplied by the French and seized from British garrisons, not to mention the way the rifling would get fouled by repeated black powder firing.

Which isn't to say that longrifles didn't see use. They were just never the primary weapon used by Americans during their war for independence.

We're simply not dealing with human sized/durability targets, and shouldn't arm ourselves with the assumption that we are.

“How’s about this,” you propose. “Instead of arguing over whose windows we shoot, why don’t we just go down to the range and shoot all their stuff? Their stuff’s for shooting.”

“We could do that after Isaac and Rowan get back home, if Satt doesn’t have anything planned,” says Cassandra.

“Sounds fine to me, but you’re paying for the ammunition,” says Satt. “It burns through bullets like fire through matches.”

Huh. Kind of a vivid image, maybe. You wonder what the firing rate on the thing is. “Before we do the whole talking about stuff thing,” you say, slowing yourself down a little, “I got to know. What have these knuckleheads been telling you about me behind my back?” You’d rather get straight stock of the facts that you’re supposed to be working around.

“Nothing that’s supposed to be a secret,” says Cassandra, looking a little alarmed.

“Classic sob story stuff,” Satt says with a shrug. “How are those glasses working out for you?”

Pick up a couple more wells and you’ll be able to outgun everybody in this household with the power of your brain.”

Harvey sees a flaw in her logic. “That’s assuming we don’t get bigger guns.”

“Christmas isn’t until December, Harv,” Cassandra jokes.

“What kind of angel are you, anyway?” you ask. “I mean, all I know about you is that you like guns, I guess, and I only really know about Seraphs because, well, these guys are Seraphim.”

“I’m half Echularum, half Cherbis,” says Satt, her expression neutral.

Any fully-automatic shotgun, like a Saiga or an AR-12, can fire a 12 gauge slug - a piece of metal that is, to put it lightly, big - with the stopping power to take down things significantly tougher than an elephant in extremely short order.

The problem with .700 nitro is that it's rare as fuck. The company that rolled it out has had a backlog of orders since 1988 that they still haven't cleared. .500 nitro, on the other hand, is a cartridge we can actually put our hands on - expensive, but available.

Well, that’s not something you hear every day. Your breath catches in your throat. There’s only one thing to say to somebody when they reveal something like that. “Show me,” you say, your voice trembling with excitement.

“Finally!” Harvey says, as if he’s been waiting for somebody to ask that very thing for the last three hours.

“Kids, you should know better than to ask things like that,” Cassandra chides you.

Satt raises a hand. “Nah, don’t sweat it. Everybody wants to see me at least once.” She shrugs off her leather jacket and rolls her shoulders and cracks her neck. And then her image flickers. She’s still in the same clothes, but she looks only vaguely like her human form.

In the place of skin, there are silvery mechanical parts so minute they almost seem to blend together. Cords of metallic fiber stretch over in place of muscles, partially covered by asymmetric, almost organic looking metal plates. And, as promised, a second set of arms sprout out from just below her top set. These she folds across her chest, even as she keeps her other pair hooked around the back of the couch.

Her face features many segmented pieces that join together to form a sinuous whole, vaguely organic, but distinctly mechanical. Her eyes are a silver white, with the irises retaining the same hard, iron gray look. The crown of her skull is angled slightly to a ridge along the top.
>>
>>33723944
Because that's the normal gauge of combat shotguns. And ideally, we'd either get a Saiga like Borya has, or an AR-12 because AMERICA (and it's built like a tank).
>>
>>33723968

Big, orange glowing glyphs burn lightly across her flesh metal, power smoking dangerously from them before your eyes. “I take after Mom, mostly,” she says, her face plates shifting fluidly as she speaks. Her voice is rougher and has a kind of grainy quality to it when she’s in her natural form. All in all, she reminds you of a fancy, very tough grandfather clock. (Satt: 24/24 HP; Lots/Lots PP)

You take a moment to bask in how awesome Sattler is. (-5 Stress: 5/100) “So, which part is the robot and which part is the four arms?” you ask.

“Cherbis is the four arms and the glowing glyph things,” she says, tapping one of the glyphs on her collarbone plate. “Echularum is the clockwork robot kind of thing.”

You consider this. “I take it there’s like, seven types of angels in total.”

“Yep,” says Satt. “Cherbis, Echularim, Seraphim like Isaac and his family. Then you’ve got the weirdos. Raan, Exhonerates, Archurists, and the Raan.”

“You said Raan twice,” Harvey tells her.
>>
>>33723999

“Who did I miss?” Satt asks.

Everybody begins tallying things up on their fingers.

>Lichtkorpers
Light bodies? Guessing they're the polar opposite to Verwelken. Kind of funny that both are considered weirdos in the homelands
>>
Ok, they told Satt that we're a pyromancer.

I guess hellfire and hellbolt work and explosive flare would be a good one. I dunno if I wanna risk using fire whip around her if we end up having to use powers.
>>
>>33725774
I'd try to avoid using any powers of any kind around her. Only if our or someone else's life is about to be lost.
>>
“Excuse me if I have trouble imagining what a four armed angel robot thinks is freaky,” you say.

“Relatively freaky,” Satt says. “Despite my parents being immigrants, I’m as American as you. Personally I don’t see any good reason to leave the country, let alone the plane.”

That’s a pretty good point, actually. Even though you’re whatever you are, everybody you’ve run into over the past while has been pretty weird to your sensibilities. “So, what is the deal with other angels, anyway?”

“Lichtkorpers are the worst, probably, because they’re made of light – good luck trying to get to know a sunbeam. The Raan are basically a bunch of birds, the Exhonerates are all a bunch of condescending asses with pretty faces, and then you have Archurists who all wear these big ol’ hoods and see with their hearts because they have no eyes, or some other bull crap like that,” Sattler tells you. “Trust me, don’t even deal with it.”

You think the angel might be biased in her description of the angelic realms. “Duly noted,” you say. “What about you, though? I mean, I guess I haven’t met many angels, really. What do you do for work and stuff? Where do you live, do you have any hobbies, that kind of stuff I guess.”

Satt puts her jacket back on, then settles back into her comfortable slouch. “I don’t really live anyplace specifically,” she says. “I just run around, killing monsters, collecting bounties, that kind of thing.”

“Well, what do you do for fun?” you ask.
>>
>>33725864

Sattler thinks about it for a minute. “Same story, really,” she says. “Kill monsters. Collect bounties. That kind of thing.”

“That sounds awesome,” you say, grinning to yourself.

“Yeah, it’s one way to live,” Sattler replies. “When I get bored of it I’ll think of something else to do. You don’t have to rush around for much of anything when you’re immortal.”

Harvey turns to Cassandra and speaks up. “Hey Mom, you know when Dad’s going to be back?”

“Not until after five,” says Cass.

“Speaking of people not present,” you say, “where’s Rowan?”

Cass gives a kind of sly smile. “She went to the a chalk and music festival down by the piers,” she says.

You frown. That sounds like something you should have been invited to.

Harvey notes your chagrin. “Red Hood invited her,” he drones in a bored tone. And then he sits up slightly and gives you a kind of mock serious, exasperated look. “But it’s not a date.” He does a good job at channeling Rowan. Probably from years of experience.

You copy Rowan’s eye roll. “Right,” you say slowly. You’re pretty sure she was hitting it off with that Halloween party guy the minute they laid eyes on each other’s costumes. You would maybe be concerned about her going out with a possibly random creepy guy, but Ro’s a good judge of character. And plus she knows karate and is moderately invincible.
>>
>>33725894

“Speaking of young romance,” says Satt, “that’s one thing you don’t get to do forever when you’re immortal. Anyway, when Isaac told me about you, Sierra, I was pretty interested. I’ve only met one landmaster before, and that was only so he could boot my ass off his land,” she tells you, giving you a curious look. “How’s your life plan changed since you found out you’re going to live forever? And that you have pretty much limitless power gaining potential. I’ve known since I was a little kid, but you didn’t know until a month or two ago, right?”

Huh. That’s actually a kind of interesting question.

>I don’t know. I figured I’d graduate high school first and maybe do college, I guess. Just the normal stuff so long as it looks like the thing to do.

“Well,” you say, “I’ve been setting stuff on fire for a lot longer than that, but the immortal stuff is kind of a new deal I guess. Honestly, I really haven’t had time to think about it. I mean, between Meckor and me being sucky in school and trying not to burn everything down all the time, I’ve just been trying to keep my head above water.” You catch what you said, and frown. Drowning metaphor. Probably should avoid those in the future.

“Yeah, it can get pretty hard when you’re trying to live the life,” says Satt. “Things’ll calm down sooner or later, though, whether it’s a couple months from now or a couple decades from now. But now that you are thinking about it, what’s the first things you think of ?”

“School, honestly,” you say. “I’m not so hot at academics. But everybody does the college thing, so that’s probably what I should do, too.”

“Come on. You don’t live in school. What else are you going to do?” she asks.

“Beyond just raking in cash or trying to control my inner blazes?”

“Yeah. Though those are good plans too,” Satt replies.

You use your imagination. “I’ll probably go on adventures looking for landwells,” you say. “Isaac’s probably already told you about the one in SF we’ve been looking for.”

“Fun plan Meckor had,” Satt says, snorting. “Good thing you busted his demon ass back down to demon hell.” She has a kind of vindictive gleam in her eye when she says this that makes you more than a little nervous. (+3 Stress: 8/100)
>>
>>33727754
“So,” you say, not wanting to touch that topic with a thousand foot pole, “anyway. I guess it all starts once me and the deputy marshal find it.”

“Well, good to know you’ll shut down this Philostrathus creature if we can’t find her soon,” Satt says. “Tatarans are slippery bastards.”

“Now, I see why you can say that,” you say, kind of smirking to yourself. “Her death conditions don’t seem to be the same as most of the stuff I’ve come across.”

“From the sound of things, this one has some kind of spell work that dislocates her out of whatever situation she’s in if she’s going to get hurt,” she says. “You just have to take her down without hurting her, then you can finish her off. So, unfortunately for you, throwing fire’s going to do jack shit. Anyway, good to meet you,” she says, standing up and stretching, briefly. “I’m going to go do the old demon hunter hunt demons thing and see what I can find out about your demon. I’ll be back in a couple hours, around when Isaac’s supposed to get here.”

“All right,” says Cassandra. “If you need any information or help, just give me a call and I’ll be right over.”

“Yeah, that probably won’t happen,” says Sattler, and then without forewarning, she abruptly walks out.

Why don't we all talk about guns again? I really like the idea of getting some auto 7.62x51mm firepower.http://youtu.be/atntd0XlQxg?t=2m29s While the SCAR-H is certainly awesome and all, it's also really expensive and servicemen have complained about the stock breaking when butt-stroking (I.E. slamming the stock into another dude's face).

With this in mind, I'd like to propose the Western AK, the "Right Arm of the Free World," the FN FAL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RIAgSGBJoE Made of hard wood and metal, instead of aluminum and polymer, this gun is cheaper, heftier, and able to to fight a brick wall and come out on top. Welcome to /tg/.
>>
>>33727991
Best to narrow our options down to several simple options. A sidearm, a gun for big targets, and a gun for a lot of medium ones. Shotgun is the second, and the third could be the FAL. But currently based on our level of strength, we're peak-human. We'll probably only carry around one gun + sidearm + sword.
>>
>>33727991
>(I.E. slamming the stock into another dude's face).
We have claws, fire whips and a whole bunch of other shit for that. I don't know I've just liked the SCAR ever since I heard a Ranger talking about how they were the shit.
>>
>>33728082
I say something like the Degal (apparently /k/ doesn't like it but something similar) the sword and a assault rifle with an under barrel shotgun.

Also some grenades, cause you can bounce them off walls, force people out of cover, and I don't think we have any non-pp consuming aoe.
>>

Everyone has their own preferences, and a lot of modern guns are awesome. We do need reliability in our firearms, so that's probably the biggest factor in what we choose.

And yeah, we don't need to use the stock like that, we have all kinds of things we can do (claw, elbow, demon-feet).

I thought it was more of a general demon-hate thing, to be honest.

This should fall under "Always assume there is a second shooter until you have cleared the area" type of thing.

AR with grenade launcher might be better. Shotgun would be something for taking out a big bad, AR/SMG would be for lots of medium targets.

Grenades + shadow powers = short fuse + shadow-kinesis them where we want.

Yeah, I was just using butt-stroking as an example of the drawbacks poylmer+aluminum builds have. And to be honest, we're probably never gonna use rifles in urban environments. At the most, we'll be using SMG's. But in long range, drawn out conflicts or when fighting Big Fucking Guys, I think we'll like the FN FAL.

Rifles can be good for room clearing.

We're not really long-ranged at this point. It's a good weapon, I agree (then again, as my ex-police sergeant firing instructor pointed out about my aversion to pistols due to my accuracy with them, any gun is reasonably accurate). As long as it's a reliable weapon that'll hold up to extreme conditions (fire being thrown at us/the near the weapon, mud, you name it), it's worth it.

Well, on the bright side we could probably take out Philo in a fight now, especially since she shouldn't have any heavy hitters backing her up.

Terrorizing Gaze on her to hinder her and make our life easier, Soul Drinker and Dark Heart until she's out of PP, then we can murderize her the old fashioned way. Stain of Sin might also do something to her, and Empathetic might make her easier to keep track of since we can feel arcane energies. If she ever builds up a large swarm of Condapedes we can Explosive Flare them to get some breathing room.

Soul Drinker would be the main way to take her down. Terrorizing Gaze might activate her teleport.

Shadow armor can deal with the kinetic energy from being thrown out of a building, I figure it can handle kickback.

Yeah... We should really get the AA-12 for that. That thing can handle an ungodly amount of beating, and kicks and ungodly amount of ass. But, I mean, what do you expect from a fully-automatic 12 gauge assault shotgun with a solid metal body?
>>
I love the idea of shotguns, but something I'm concerned about is that our weapon proficiency is all in SMGs and handguns. Will it transfer to shotguns in this quest? Maybe, maybe not.
>>

It's not like we're experts at those either, we can just do a couple training sessions with shotguns and we'll be good to go.
>>

If it doesn't, then we should just pick up a big, basically-an-assault-rifle SMG for normal tacticool stuff and a ridiculously-high-caliber revolver for boss-cracking.

If it does (or at least, if we can pick up shotguns quickly since we already have skills in other guns) then we should go for shotguns, because they really are the best thing for someone with our powerset, our enemies, and our environment.

Sounds like a plan. Really, we just want things that'll take a beating, be as reliable as heck (nothing like a gun jamming when you need it most to piss people off), and not suck due to shitty materials/manufacturing.
