He then leads you and Karel into his room, which you notice is filled with unpacked luggage. Suitcases, bags, a large chest... Emilio must have brought enough stuff with him to last half a year, by your estimate.

You make it ripple like the rover back -there-, while Emilio looks on in amazement. Deciding to maybe try and see if the... infestation (you think that's what Niklaus called it) has progressed enough for you to do more, you try and think of something to make it do.

One by one, little jagged tooth-like protrusions start to form on the edge of your sword, continuing along until the entire blade's covered with them.

"Whoa!" Emilio gasps. "It's like a saw!"

"No, that's okay," he says, shaking his head. "I'd probably end up screwing up and stabbing myself on it or something."

"You might want to know beforehand," you say, turning to Karel, "your bracelet's going to change shape based on how you're feeling."
"...huh?" she stares at you.
"Like if you get mad, it'll start growing spikes. That kind of thing. My original one was Niklaus's first test subject so there wasn't anyone to warn me about it... I thought I should spare you the same unpleasant surprise."
"Uh..." Karel looks at her own bracelet, "...thanks for the warning."

And so, you hurry to your destination as fast as you can without running outright. Luckily, you make it to your uauaL spot by the entrance to the dining hall before the Princess does so you're not in any risk of being fussed out...

...and then you realize that you JUST made it there before her, as you can hear the sound of giggling maidens from not too far off.

As Marianne and her usual entourage of maids approaches, you notice that Marianne's wearing her usual "casual" clothes, a simple dress with a shawl. And her hair's tied up in a bun similar to the way that Lisette wears hers... you're tempted to say something about that, but you opt not to just in case she gets offended.

You also notice that Melanie isn't around today, though that's probably because she has her own preparations for the day to get to.

"Good morning," Marianne says, stopping in front of you. "I see that you're all dressed for a trip on the town... "

Proofreaders are definitely going to be needed, but it'll be a while before I actively start work on the game.
