“You already knew?” you ask, disbelieving. You’re back at the Hallows’ house in the study, sitting across the table from Isaac.

“There aren’t that many seventeen year old hellborn landmasters wandering the Earth,” Isaac replies. “Ms. Song confirmed my suspicions when I spoke with her.”

You have trouble concentrating. Your leg hurts and your head hurts. You probably shouldn’t have been walking around even a little bit, given you broke it just like, last night. And you probably shouldn’t have been out of bed at all. You couldn’t even survive the car ride with Wolfgang without clocking out. You want to ask why he didn’t say anything or talk to you about it, but on the flip side you didn’t say anything or talk to him about it, either. “But how’d you figure out the thing with the Crowthers?”
>>
>>33632536
Isaac answers without fanfare. “Deletrius and I had a long conversation over the phone.”

That save you some trouble, at least.

>Well, it’s good the people who actually get what’s going on finally talked to each other for like, the first time ever.
>So, assuming you don’t put the Crowthers on your super racist demon registery, how many rules broken does that bring you up to now?
>In that case, I was kind of holding out for your opinion. The fief thing. I guess you know some people want me to be the baroness and stuff. What do you want me to do?

“Then you know,” you say. “They want me to be the baroness person. I mean, usually when people do what I did they burn them at the stake, not crown them queen of the city.” Though fire probably wouldn’t have effect on you like they’d expect.

“Demon politics are nuanced,” says Isaac, sitting back in his chair. “The Magister shared the particulars. That Infernus we fought is loyal to you, and the turncoat owes you his life, and we’ve killed everyone else. I didn’t anticipate the shift in sentiments – I suppose that was me underestimating the weight your heritage still carries.”

You give Isaac an unenthusiastic look. “It’s good that the people who actually get what’s going on finally like, talked to each other for the first time ever.”

“I still can’t believe you went to that Halloween party as yourself,” says Isaac, shaking his head. “You’re fortunate that Crowther boy was the only one who recognized you weren’t in costume.”

“I’m a lucky girl,” you say apathetically. “So the fief thing. You know the deal, I guess. I was holding out for your opinion. What do you want me to do?” You’re pretty divided on the issue.

“Let the Belphegoran take it,” says Isaac.

That’s… kind of not what you expected to hear. “Really?” you ask. “Because like, everyone else thinks it’s a pretty big deal and stuff. You’d trust Waldric with all that? I don’t even trust Waldric with all that.”
>>
>>33634883

There’s a hard silence, and Isaac seems tentative, if only for a moment. “Frankly, no. I don’t trust Waldric at all, even if he practically lives in the Magister’s shadow.”

You regard Isaac questioningly. “So, there’s no question then, right? I mean, shouldn’t I do it? I don’t know about demon councils and the rules, but I thought you could be like, on the conclave and make all the important decisions with Crowther anyway. It’d be like you were in charge of the fief. You could like, keep things locked down from both ends of the spectrum. Safer city and stuff.” you say. Look at that, you have put some thought into this. You furrow your brow. “Isn’t that a good thing?”

“Yes, it would be,” says Isaac, sounding strained. “It would be a very good thing for a lot of people. What’s good for other people doesn’t mean good for you, though.”

“Yeah, I know. That’s kind of the thing, isn’t it,” you say, looking down to examine your nails. Yep, still there. “Dangerous and stuff, maybe, I guess.”

“You’ve done enough,” Isaac states. “Not everyone can carry everything, all the time. You want to do the right thing, and I’m proud of you for it, but this isn’t the time.”

You chuckle to yourself. You imagined this conversation going the other way, you giving reasons why you shouldn’t and Isaac lecturing you about responsibility and stuff. “I thought you’d be crawling all over this. Like, it’s your job to protect people and stuff, isn’t it?”
>>
>>33634909

Isaac doesn’t say anything for a moment. “It is my job, and I take it very seriously,” he says slowly, in the manner of explanation. “But I have another job. One that’s much more important.” He sighs and shakes his head. “I didn’t do that job last night, and I regret it,” he says. “I’m not going to make that mistake again.”

You don’t exactly get what he’s talking about. “What job’s that?” you ask. “Cause it looked like you did a pretty good job last night to me.”

Isaac’s expression turns to a scowl, and you feel an intense, rich, smoking flavor emanating from him, mingled with a twinge of coppery unhappiness. “The whole point of you staying with my family,” he says firmly, “is so you have somewhere to be. So you can have someone who understands you, and takes care of you. So you can have somebody who looks out for you.” The air begins vibrating with his words. “I used you. I saw what you could do, and knew you could help me fight Meckor. I convinced myself that was more important.”

“Well,” you say, not following, “wasn’t it? He was going to level the city.”
>>
>>33634941
“That’s what I thought too,” says Isaac. “But after all was said and done last night – after I lost track of you, I realized I was wrong. I shouldn’t have hesitated,” he says. “I shouldn’t have waited for you to say anything. I was a coward. I was so afraid of what Meckor might do, if I let him go, that I let that fear control me. I let myself choose him over you,” he says, his voice shaking. You feel the floor reverberate below your feet.

“If Rowan was in your place, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought,” he says. I would have protected her. I would have fought for her. I would have traded the world for her, and I should have done the same for you. It doesn’t matter if I’m your real father or not – I’m what you have, right now, and it’s my responsibility. I should have loved you enough to keep you safe, no matter what the cost,” he says, finishing with a note of bitterness. He rubs the back of his neck, an air of defeat about him.

He take a deep breath before he speaks again. “I’m sorry, Sierra. I can’t take back what I allowed to happen to you. I can’t fix it. But I can do my damndest to make sure nothing like that ever happens to you again,” he says. “That’s why you’re not a marshal anymore, and that’s why I can’t let you take over the fief.”

>Say stuff (?)

That is exactly what we expected Isaac to say. He was regretting dumping too much responsibility on Sierra's shoulders just hours before.

The more I think about it, the more I like the Idea of Waldric taking over this Fief. It seems to me that he has the knowledge, the connections and the inclination to be a halfway effective lord.
Meanwhile Sierra does not know the language. She does not know the culture. She does not know the people. She does not know who the mover's and shaker's are in Demon society. She openly consorts with Demonbane, which labels her a Blood traitor and is not the kind of thing that inspires trust. And while Sierra being the daughter of Corithis might get her some sympathy from some sectors, I think most demons would either think she's full of shit and not take her seriously, or would try to zap her at their earliest convenience for her being a possible threat to the threat to the Status Quo.
I say if Waldric thinks he can run the Fief better we can, I say let him have a go. If it turns out he can, shit, maybe we could take lessons from him or something.

>>
>>33635530
Hipster Belphegoran was Khel and he died during our bloodrage. Crowther mentioned it when got to his house.

Philo is the only surviving badguy who saw what happened.
>>
>>33635530
We killed the hipster while on that rampage. Philo is the only hostile member of Meckor's group that's still alive.

>>33635618
They probably wouldn't care about the deaths as much as they'd see lacking control over the bloodrage as a sign of weakness.
>>
Ranthix is going to train us to have control over our bloodlust, and we seem to be potentially massively powerful with a name that makes people think twice to boot. In the long run, we could do great things in charge, at least as a figurehead and someone to stomp on anyone trying to be funny. But right now, we couldn't pull that off so well, and exposing ourselves would probably just put us in danger. Ideally we want someone else to hold the position until we can take over and make best use of our potential.

And besides, we weren't forced into this. We would have done this anyway.

Of course, Philo already knows who we are, so its possible it's already too late to stay incognito for safety.

I'm sure the police would be very interested in finding out who killed their cops and her home address. Plus there's the threat of PURGE AND SMITE Demonbane getting an anonymous tip about Sierra and her little 'incident.'
>>
We need to talk to rowan about Fieflust, see what she thinks.
>>
>>33635719
Yeah, but Sierra doesn't need to become baroness to have that happen to her anyway.
>>
There is a lot of wisdom in not taking charge until we get our head screwed on better, and get stronger as well.

But I really don't trust anyone else with rulership in the long term: Philo is definitely a no-go, Crowther doesn't want it and is better placed in his current role, Waldric doesn't really want it either though he makes a good manager along with Crowther, and Ranthix, while best BOISTEROUS UNCLE FIGURE, is hardly governor material.

It may be worth enquiring about how we'd go about securing it once we're strong enough to handle it

He seems like the type to prefer being the power behind the power, which is more or less what we'd want him to be anyway. This seems a reasonable question. And it seems pretty clear that we fully intend to take over when we're strong enough to handle it, simply because we don't trust anyone else enough to stay decent, and even if we did, we don't trust them to be durable enough should some other big ugly turn up.

Exactly. Demon's don't trust demonbane, and having a Baroness who is so close to a family of demonbane would piss them off something chronic.
They'd probably rise up against her on general principle.
Better, in this instance, to be Baron Waldric's legbreaker to deflect any ill will for him to us rather than be the Baroness everyone hates and no one trusts.

You’re feeling all kinds of weird things right now. But the important thing is to not show it. You hold off a few seconds before you speak. “I guess I’ll say no, if that’s how you feel about it,” you say quietly. Part of you wants to do better, but you were never here to try to make things better. You were only trying to get even for a friend, and that’s done. “saac, I don’t… I don’t really want you to feel bad for me. Tomorrow I’ll be okay, you know? But there’s people - lots of people - that won’t.”

Isaac nods, his expression sober. “I know how that is,” he says.

“But,” you continue, some resolve coming through, “I’m not going to sit it out. This thing, I can’t just pretend it’s not happening. Waldric offered me a spot on his conclave, and I’m taking it. I’m going to make sure he doesn’t start doing bad stuff, and I guess chip in if he needs help doing good stuff. You and Crowther, and I guess Borislav, you’ll watch him, right?”

“If Waldric doesn’t want me to bury him, he’ll stay on the right side of the road,” Isaac says, a steely glint to his eyes. “Everything he does is going to go by me, first.”

“Yeah, I guess you can just like, use my vote if you can’t get on the conclave yourself,” you say. “Maybe when I figure my business out, I can kick him out and do it myself. He thinks I’m real tough for murdering all his friends.”

Isaac gives you a guarded look. "We'll see how it goes," he says. "I don't want you to take any undue risks.
>>
>>33636702

“Yeah, turns out Ranthix is actually kind of cool. He’s going to teach me how to not freak out anymore,” you say. “I think.”

“That’s great news, Sierra,” Isaac congratulates you.

We'll want to run things by a final time with Ranthix at least rather than drop it on him out of nowhere and damage our relationship with him too much, and also find out how easy it would be to step in or whatever if we want to exploit the reputation of our heritage to warn people off in future/seize control to stop someone worse stepping in somehow.
>>
>>33636897
>That ship has sailed, friend.
Not until we publicly turn it down. Besides, this was write in only and there were a lot of ambiguous answers. I'd like some a simple yes/no vote.
>>
>>33636971
It shouldn't be too hard to sell him on it. Tell him we need him to teach us to control the blood rages before we're ready to rule anything. Say we don't want to dishonor Mom or something.
>>
>>33637039
Seems legit. It's also pretty much the truth.

Speaking of mom, what's the plan after we round up Philo? Are we planning on trying to find out what happened to her, and possibly seeking vengeance? If our name still carries as much weight as is implied, I doubt whoever had her assassinated would be content to just leave us be. And I don't expect our existence to remain a secret with miss reality warper on the loose.
>>
>>33636971
Just straight up tell him that it's the better idea for now. He's not stupid.

Well, if we want to do voting.

I'm not going to do final destination voting. Instead, let's do this. Start off by stating whether you want to take the fief, or if you just want to be in the conclave. The give one sentence of explanation. Quote this post so it's easier to keep track of all the votes.

If the results still look way close, maybe we'll put it to a special vote.
>>
>>33637212
No fief, just conclave.
>>
>>33637212
I think pretty much everyone just wants to go with the conclave for now, they just want the option of taking over and putting our apparently fearsome reputation to good use when we're not constantly having breakdowns

>>
>>33637212
>My vote: I just want to be in the conclave.

Not don't get me wrong, I want the fief, but I do not think that this is the right time. Sierra is barely in control of her own actions and mind, she doesn't speak the demon languages, and she doesn't know anybody in Halth. Taking the fief means that things are exactly the same as just being on the conclave; relying on Waldo and Crowdaddy, except their shit has our name put on it and we have more potential for enemies coming after us before we become strong enough to crush them. When we rule, it's going to be when we're powerful enough that we can actually throw some weight behind the name instead of just waving it around.
>>
>>33637212
Conclave. Although I still wanna talk to Rowan. If there is an argument that's going to change my our mind, it'd be hers.

Well Ranthix seemed pretty shocked about us being part Verwelken. I'm not sure if that's something mom could have kept secret about herself, given her position.

Verwelken abilities would go pretty good with an assassin.

Then there's the mindfuck dad did to us to make us forget mom's assassination. I'm actually kind of wondering if he was human at all.

>>33638029
Seems odd to have kept that secret, since it would have apparently reduced the friction caused by their relationship but most people seem to talk about him as if he were just a human. We should really ask about these things though, we really don't know dick about our background.

>inb4 that plain metal ring we always wear is absolutely central to the plot

>>33638133
yeah, while we aren't totally incapable of handling our stress what with meditation and all, right now we're having sanity slippage problems and we should really get on top of that before trying to take too much power and stress on. There any tutors for that like there are for bloodlust?
>>
>>33638157
I don't think it was a secret. It's the whole "1 drop" mentality where a person having the tiniest bit [group you don't like] in them makes them [group you don't like] in whole.

Dad was hellborn? Demons who don't like humans will call him a human. We've already seen that happening with Meckor and Sierra.
>>
“Remember you said that,” you say, smiling faintly, “cause that means you can’t get mad if I bring him over.” Or more like when you bring him over.

“If he’s really everything the Magister said he was, then I won’t,” Isaac says simply.

“Well if he said he was awesome, then yeah, somewhat,” you reply. “So I guess not today, but when can we start looking around for that landwell again? Philo’s still out and about, and she’s the one that could do the gateway bridge thingy.”

“Soon,” says Isaac. “Not until you’re healed. I know it’s hard, but you’ll just have to wait another day.”

Was that him just giving you sass? “Isaac, you sassing me?” you ask, narrowing your eyes at him.

“I would never dream of it,” he replies without hesitation, straight-faced.

“Well I wasn’t planning on doing anything today anyway,” you say, slouching further than you were before. “Another thing, though. Moriah, you know, Crowther’s daughter, she told me you could have levelled the city with demonbane if you wanted. And I get that you didn’t, but who were you calling then? I mean, if they would have come, somebody would have come if you were calling them.”

Isaac nods. “I know a few people that certainly would,” he says. “That’s part of the reason I didn’t call, though. Word travels fast in certain circles. You never know who’s going to come running when you start shouting there’s a fire.”

“So who did you call?” you ask.
>>
>>33638283

“A friend,” he says. “I was in the army for a long time. Over the years, you get to know people. You make a lot of friends. I tried to call in a favor, but he declined.” He gives a shrug. “It was worth a shot.”

Isaac’s about as hardcore as they get. You have trouble imagining somebody that could somehow bail him out of the Meckor thing. “What kind of military person could do what you can’t do?” you ask.

“Someone who’s used to working with people like me,” Isaac says, smiling slightly.

You snicker. “You mean someone used to working with badass half-angel magic sheriff cops?”

His answer isn’t a very good one. “Along those lines, yes,” he says.

“Whatever,” you say, snorting at him. Everyone’s so cryptic all the time. One day you’ll get to be cryptic too, maybe, if you make it to your next birthday too. And then you’ll rub it in everybody’s faces once you know everything and nobody else does.

“Then it’d be pretty crazy,” you reply. You’re having trouble wrapping your brain around the concept.

Isaac sits there and looks at you funny.

“I’m not changing my name though,” you add. Hallow’s a lame name.

That doesn’t seem to bother Isaac, though. He just gives you a warm smile.

You don’t say anything. You don’t really have anything to say. So you both just sit there for a while. And then for more of a while.

This is something you used to wish to happen every night. And now… it happened? How should you feel right now? You kind of don’t feel anything. It’s really just a token gesture, maybe. It’s not like this is going to change anything. Maybe if you’d met the Hallows like, six years ago, maybe then it’d be a bigger deal. Maybe you’d be happier then. Maybe none of this would’ve ever happened.

But maybe you’re a little happy about it, anyway. In kind of a sad way? You’ve never been keen on understanding how you feel about stuff. In any case, looking at Isaac now makes you feel kind of nice. Content. (+5 Sanity: 76/100)

You don’t know what to do with your hands. It’s whatever. You give a kind of fake half smile. “Thanks,” you say.

Isaac stands up, as do you. “Why don’t we go share the news?” he asks, walking over to the door to hold it open for you.

Then a lot of stuff happens.

Blood Rage lessons with Ranthix, maybe in the woods with Borya and Reeber.

Spending time in the woods running free, hunting down prey, being our actual predator self without killing people.

Sword practice with Ro, as well as other sorts of combat training.

A basic education on supernatural stuff, like the various types of Angel, how Heaven and Halth's hierarchy and politics work. The main non-demon/angel supernatural creatures we're likely to encounter.

Some time with Waldric getting all the different emotion flavors categorized so we know what they mean.

>A basic education on supernatural stuff, like the various types of Angel, how Heaven and Halth's hierarchy and politics work. The main non-demon/angel supernatural creatures we're likely to encounter.
This is something I really want to do. I also want to ask if the 7 demon types correspond to the seven deadly sins, because Belph and Infernus are good fits for Sloth and Wrath respectively and the goat things are probably Lust.

I highly doubt we're going to get rid of it.

Our best chance is to try and manage it and keep ourself sated instead of letting it get too bad. Ranthix would probably not mind letting us snack on him if other sources aren't available, and he's got plenty of blood and can regenerate.

Therapy or something, meditation, keeping up on our Russian homework, Bloodrage training, sitting on Conclave meetings, melee training, and occasional visits to Wolfgang

>Keeping up that meditation (for stress)
>Bringing our sanity back up (and maybe even finding a way to keep it closer to 100)
>Trying to get back to what passed for "normal" in terms of school and friends

Are there landwells in Halth? Heaven? The other Earths like that place the fortunemancer guy is from? If there are and we claim them, does it boost us across dimensions?

I would think that the answer is "yes" because of Philo/Meckor's plan to use a landwell as a portal to hell.

Bloodlust: Craving

It’s cold. The forest rises up about you, and your clawed feet sink into the soft, wet earth with little resistance. You crouch silently in the predawn darkness, taking cover behind a burst of leafy ferns. You can feel the life around you. The trees recognizes you, as they should.

A slight movement in front of you attracts your unwavering gaze. The deer raises its head up from the stream and looks toward you. You hold still as its ears twitch about, trying to pick up a sound. The silence magnifies your senses in every direction - you can feel the dull unease coming from the animal, and then its gradual decline back to a state of rest. After two or three minutes, the animal goes back to the water.

You lick your teeth automatically. This looks a whole lot better than a fucking raccoon. (Black-tailed deer: 13/13 HP)
>>
>>33640222

A black shadow flits through the trees above, silent and dark, for once in its life. You should really get around to naming your imp – you get the impression that every time you summon the thing, it’s actually the exact same one, except slightly less stupid than its prior incarnation.

Anyway, is it your imagination, or can you smell its blood from here, even when if the deer’s not bleeding? The scent has a kind of magnetic, fascinating attraction to it. It'd be pretty easy to kind of just go along with the flow.

>Restrain yourself. (Dice)
>Utilize the shadows. Creep closer.
>Try to spook the deer into running toward you. Fire lizard bat thing can do that.
>You like your venison well done. You’re almost close enough to cook it alive as is.
>Take your jacket off first this time, you almost ruined the other one doing this exact same thing.
>Other (?)

You force yourself to remain focused on what you’re doing. Your newfound addiction to drinking sweet, sweet blood has taken some getting used to, but at least you’ve already learned most of the hard lessons of self control. So long as you don’t let your lust for blood go ignored for too long, it’s never much of a problem. And maybe it’s kind of fun, too?

Though, you feel maybe the you from a few weeks ago wouldn’t be all over the idea of you eating forest animals raw. You didn’t really plan things this way, but you guess it is what it is. Hopefully not… too much other stuff about you changed. But would you even know, if it had? (-1 Sanity: 82/100) You suppress a shiver – the motion could spook your quarry.

You consider the task at hand. Fire would be easy, but Borislav would be pissed. Sneaking is not something you’re that good at, even with shadows, to get into deer-striking range without spooking it. And your imp, while spirited, isn’t quite reliable enough to prick the deer into running exactly into your direction.

You will combine ideas..

You creep forward, silently, carefully placing each step to prevent sound. The land feels good underfoot. You make it to a tree, and use the redwood as cover to take off your jacket. The hard touch of the morning air gives you goosebumps, but it’s better than almost ruining another article of clothing. Seriously, you’ve had to replace like, half your wardrobe since you got it.
>>
>>33641187
Anyway, laying your jacket to the side, you resume the hunt.

You get as near as you dare – which is pretty damn near, given that you can almost meld with the darkness – and then prompt your imp into action. It’s like herding cats, but at least your imp means well. You think?

Anyway, the imp soars down and bursts into flaming light. The starburst lights up the otherwise dark wood, while you tighten the darkness about yourself to remain hidden.

The light has the intended effect. The deer recoils and bounds across the river, and runs straight at you. This is exactly how you imagined stuff going in your head. You smile broadly and pounce out of your hiding spot.

The deer almost trips over itself at the sight of you and tries to double back, but its got too much momentum to change direction that easy. You collide with the side of the animal’s front, grabbing it around the neck with your claws and bringing it down. You sink your teeth into its throat and choke down a frenzied giggle at the outpouring of blood, even as you claw and tear at the doomed animal with your claws.

It kicks you a couple times in the chest and stuff, but you restrain it well enough that the blows are all absorbed by the ambient darkness.

The flow of blood increases, and this time you manage to keep it from getting on your clothes, though not your face. But that’s kind of the point. You keep clawing and wrestling with the panicking animal as its strength flows out onto the forest floor.
>>
>>33641204

Soon its struggles reduce to twitching, and then even those fade.

You stand up and lick your claws. You find yourself savoring the last, saccharine fizzle of fear as the dear dies. Then you regard its torn, mangled body, and hunch over it to sate yourself on its leafy, vegan-flavored blood.

Your imp settles on a branch and goes dark once more, keeping its annoying chittering to a minimum.

You feel another presence, and in a moment Reeber is with you. The hellhound is gross, so he tears out the deer’s stomach and starts chewing on the liver. He’s going to have a fun time chomping down on that. Though Reeber’s more than capable of hunting himself, he’s more than happy to let you do the work. Plus you’d miss out on the odd satisfaction of killing stuff if he did it for you. (Bloodlust: Satiated)

When you’re done, you crawl over to the stream and rinse off, and splash Reeber down while you’re at it. Let’s see. It’s like, Saturday morning. Huh. This is like, the week anniversary of your rampage. Where does the time go?

We need to get on with this whole self-control business, and also spending time with more normal people is probably good for our sanity.

Maybe take salvageable parts of the deer back to cook and eat like a normal person too? There's got to be at least enough to make a few burgers with no matter how mangled it got.

Really, I doubt Waldric can slip anything past Crowther.
Us actually owning the fief wouldn't make much difference, given that we'd just be giving control to the people that actually know what they're doing anyway.

You're paranoid, is what I'm saying.
You honestly think that us *not* having the fief will result in Waldric fucking us over with no ability to prevent it and no evidence to back you up.

And don't say "He betrayed his kind", that's bullshit, the only person he betrayed was a genocidal monster.

I just think that demons, having grown in different set of circumstances than humans, would have different set of morals, which ewryone is ignoring, making demons, vampires, orks and other fantasy creatures carbon copies of humans.
Seriusly, I would expect betrayal from all humans. Demons have reputation for being far worse, since they have lived in place where power, intelligence, and ability to betray (make people trust you), is the key to surviving, and having better life.
Cant you people role play, at least a bit?
You are just going- o yea other persons have higt morale code, that's human like, and they will repay good with good.

Well whatever faggot, not my problem you guys idealize the world, and don't think about how actual person would act in this situation, given his past.

You're completely ignoring what taking the fief vs just being on the conclave actually means.

Sierra doesn't know shit about hell. She has zero contacts. She doesn't speak any of the languages. She doesn't know the history or the politics. Whether she takes the fief or not, it's still going Waldric and Crowther making the plans and decisions with Sierra looking it over. Whether she's the baroness or not, her ability to recognize if Wally is pulling something is exactly the same and the response is the same if he does do something.

By taking the fief, the major change that impacts Sierra is that people know who she is and where she is. This means that enemies are going to come try to end her before she's too strong to face and it means that a few diehard loyalists are going to come to SF. It will also give Wally and Crowther her name as another card to play.

None of the changes caused by taking the fief prevents Wally from betraying. It does very little to help deal with betrayal if it does happen. Sure, there will be a few loyalists, but there's bound to be some anti-Imperiate people pretending to be loyalists on top of the pretty much guaranteed overt enemies, so things are going to balance out on the people-trying-to-kill-us front.

And before you say "well, Wally will bring his friends if he's Baron!", he'd just call them anyway and say "Sierra doesn't know shit and I essentially runs things anyway, so come on over!"

No, we can't completely trust Waldric, but he's going to act in his own best interests. He wants stability and safety. This is where the girl he loves is, he's going to avoid war on his front door. He doesn't want extra Demons or Demonbane shacking up in San Fran so he's going to try and keep things relatively quiet. He's not going to act against Papa Crowther, at least in part because he's banging his daughter, partly because Papa Crowther is observant and always seems to know more than he lets on, and because Papa Crowther isn't the kind of guy you cross lightly. And he's not overtly oppose or betray us, at least for the time being, what with threat of Issac and us looming over his head.

We keep an eye on him and any other Demons who move into town, get ourself versed in Demonic politics, and watch for any longterm plans to consolidate control. But it's far from Sierra's biggest priority at the moment.

Okay how about this.
We let Waldo rule or whatever, and stay out of politics.
Set up him with ultimatum
1)Don't let demons fuck with me/attack me, or I am holding your ass responsible.
2)Don't let demons randomly kill people.
3) Reduce the trafficking of beings from hell to here and vice versa, so there would be less uneducated faggots to fuck tings up
4)Make a mandatory schooling for demons that come here, so they can blend in. If someone refuses, deport or kill him.

Sounds about right? I really don't feel like like doing politics quest. If we do that we will be assfucked for anything we do, or don't do. Politics are bullshit. Kill ewryone that trays to fuck with us.

Sounds good? Any suggestions?

Also I don't think Waldo is strong, or smart enough to rule, and he will be thrown over in 30 seconds or less, so we will have to do all the work , wile he gets the benefits, and bosses us around.

But that is just me.

Am I the only one who thinks giving Waldo the fief is a retarded idea that will cause suffering and voted for it because of that?
