Transformers Quest 6: Heaps of Ruination

With a disorienting -zzap- you find yourself in the well lit cargo hold of the Decepticon freighter. A low rumble issues from your sharp
toothed maw as you settle for a moment, finally out of immediate danger. The whining sound of the ships engines tell you that your refuge wont be in one place for long.

Deep below the surface, in an makeshift dock in a coolent drainage pipe, you asses your situation. Havin followed the crooked Medic Knockout to locate the damaged junky you had left with him you had found the Decepticon supply post and almost a dozen Cons. After killing most of the grunts you were seriously injured in a fight with thier comander Dead End. Making a break for it you discovered that a pair of fire breathing monsters were blocking your exit so you did the only thing that would put you in a positive position and teleported aboard the Decepticon ship.

A loud bang on the freighters' outer hull sends shuddering vibrations throughout the hold. Seems like whatever was out there wanted in.

Looking around you find yourself surrounded by crates, lockers, chests and cases. On one side of the hold is an elevator.

You rumble again as your tentacles ease you into a low crouch, one gently prodding the melted surface of your snout and face.

You should probably get in touch with your friends, who knows what they have gotten into. On the other hand Knockout should be above you somewhere and you can't let your prey escape. You could also examine the cargo for anyting of use like weapons or repair kits. Or you could just eat it to replenish energon.

You fiddle with the handles and locks on a few cases and find all are securely sealed. Among them you find a nanite field repair kit, but it to is locked.

Carrying the kit you move between stacks of crates and find a large locker and try to pull it open. No luck.

With a snarl you shake the locker then kick it hard in the center. It rattles and a case falls off of the top.

Banging onto the ground its lid pops open and a grenade rolls out. A red light flashes on it.

You grit your teeth and throw yourself backwards, slamming into some crates and rebounding off to side. As you do an explosion rips through the cargo hold.

The shock wave sends cargo flying outwards and you get swept up in the debris. Your joints strain and your hull dents as you are battered about.

>HP- 24/72

Struggling to orient yourself you push upwards, and are promptly thrown sideways. Momentarily panicking you think maybe more explosives went off, only to discover the entire ship is tilting madly.

A gaping hole can be seen in the hull where the locker had been. The lights of the cargo hold have gone out on that side and the ominous red light of the drain pipe filters through.

You and the cargo are currently sliding towards the side with the hole, and you here the sound of splashing.

Another banging shudder runs through the ship.

>You should dive through the hole and transform

With a grunt you shoulder a large case that had just slid into you. This ship was going down fast. You need an exit and only one presented itself.

Lifting yourself up onto a crate, the sound of your grinding gears screeching through your head, you roll sideways and allow gravity to do your work for you.

You tumble head over heels, rolling along an uneven path made of the Decepticons cargo and find yourself airborne for a moment.

With a snarl of pain you transform and dive into the dark liquid of the waste chemicals. Swimming around some cargo and shards of ship hull you get some distance, then turn against the rapid current.

You see a lot of debris in the faint red light, a massive shadowy blotch that must be the ship drifting to the side, where beams of light and streams of fire can be seen through the murk. They slam into the side of the wounded freighter an your sure it will hit the coolant soon.

Your mind races as you think of your next move.

>Travel down stream, you may be able to get on the ship down the line.

Your growl, the sound echoing about in the liquid and mixing with the sounds coming from above.

You aren't strong enough to deal with this. Not after so many millennia of inactivity. You've been to long from the game.

You flick your tentacles forward and propel yourself back. Turning, you swim with the current down the pipeline and away from the battle.

As you swim, looking for an exit, you gulp down the waste chemicals in the hopes of extracting whatever energon you can.

>Energon Reserve-103/171

You turn down a side pipe that has a very slow current. Traveling through the fluid you pass through several cisterns and tanks until finally you reach an area that has rusted metal grating above you.

Tearing through you pull yourself into a tunnel. The same red lighting gives the area a dark and gloomy ambiance, the sounds of pumps can be heard of to your right, in the direction you came from.

You transform and sigh, activating your commlink.

"Copper, Gyro, you come in."

You wait a klik.

Then a burst of static comes from the comm and fades to nothing. Seems you're to far away for the signal to reach.

>Travel back the way you came, see if you can find a pump station and use its equipment.

Moving through the tunnels proves an exhausting experience for your damaged boy. The only light is the dark red of the tunnels and the brief flashes of sparks shooting out of you.

Several times you have to transform to pry open rusted, broken doors. You cross several pools of waste, being careful to avoid the ones full of acid from the surface.

Eventually you come to a service elevator.

Unfortunately it doesn't work.

Gritting your teeth you transform and begin to climb. The elevator shaft seems to go up forever, you spend about an hour crawling upwards. You pass by several side tunnels but ignore them to continue your ascent.

When you finally reach the top you find it blocked by heavy blast doors.

You snarl once again.

With a -zzap- you appear on the other side, now standing on the former obstacle. Around you is... scaffolding. Lots of it. A vast network of bars and metal planks in a ramshackle arrangement going on and outward for kilometers. It's dark here as well, the only lights belonging to large lamp lights so spread out that there was maybe a couple every square kilometer.

It is deathly silent here.

You practically glide away. Moving off into the distance for 20 or so minutes then continuing your ascent.

It takes another hour of careful climbing before you see any noticeable changes in the environment.

As you got higher the amount of lights decreased significantly. You eventually leave the lights behind entirely, everything at your eye level and above being in complete darkness.

Reaching up your tentacle encounters a platform. Climbing on top you take a moment to rest.

It seems your internal systems have stemmed any energy bleed, you stopped sparking awhile ago, but you are still severely damaged.

Your ascent is swift, consuming the distance with a gluttony you usually reserve for enemies.

Eventually you reach what at first you think is a platform, but after trying to get around it for some time you realize it is the ceiling.

You've reached the top, now the only question is what to do. You could try teleporting again, but if the roof is too thick you could get shunted right back down. You could try to tear your way through though that would be loud, or try to find an exit, though that would be difficult in the dark.

Screw it. I have a fondness for those three words in conjunction.

Not wanting to cause a ruckus or waste energy you decide to see if you can locate a hatch or something. There had to be a way to the roof, most building on Cybertron had dozens of entrances and exits.

You fan your tentacles out and feel along the ceiling. You grope along for almost half an hour, trying to find some kind of variation in the smooth surface. After awhile you realize that it's gently sloping in one direction.

Traveling upwards along the slant, your tentacles encounter a seam in the ceiling.
Deciding one way was as good as another you move off to your right. It takes another half hour when you encounter a ridge to one side of the seam. Feeling out its shape you discover a square access hatch.

You pull the lever at its center and it opens with a pressurized hiss. Through the opening is a lightly lit tunnel with a ladder. You slither your way up and into it and climb a few dozen meters until you reach another hatch.

Going through you find yourself greeted with open sky. Thankfully the rain has stopped, though the roof top is slick with acid. The chemical stench assaults your olfactory sensors.

Gazing out you see that you are on a giant domed building that is flanked by a pair of skeletal towers that dwarf the massive building.

You growl lightly.

You seem to be near the iron oxide pigment factory, a big blocky structure where material from the sea of rust is turned into Urayas' signature red and yellow paints. All around you the city burns.

While you finally know where you are your frown deepens.

You've gone in the completely wrong direction.
