Previously: Cerulean arrived upon a mysterious island after a mission to rescue shipwrecked personnel had gone awry due to mysterious humanoid monsters.

Meeting the natives, Cerulean found aid in the form of a humanoid monster by the name of Kurojo, a tusked Kahkori of Kakarkiko island.

With his and his uncle's help, she had been reunited with Marine, her friend from training and childhood.

After killing a fierce foe reviled by Kahkori, Cerulean fell ill, and was given a cure by Kurojo. In the village, she learned of a strange ability and found herself able to utilize "Aura."

Journeying with Kurojo, Cerulean and Marine make it to the joint city of races amongst the island chain. It is there in Raguna city that she fights to the death with a rambunctious Smolderan.
Slipping out of her right mind, she executes her foe with absolute certainty, earning her some recognition with a Smolderan leader and the right to engage in a hunting exam at his request.

Cerulran takes a test with another species known as the Araraki, an infallibly polite and timid representative of her people.
Upon completing the hunt, they are put through a naming ceremony and engage in some festivities, taking a somewhat heavier turn as Akabaron, Vi-Smohkan of the Smolderan, goes over his deal with Cerulean.

Charter the construction of a boat with Kurojo's aid...

You didn't know. You always thought that it'd been on the tip of your mind, but you didn't know. It's a silly thing though, right? Of course you should know what your mother looks like. You just didn't know how to explain it properly.

And that's why... You couldn't answer. Recollecting her appearance besides her red hair and what you've seen in the haze of dreams is the best you can manage, and that's not enough to have satisfied their question, let alone yourself.

You walk behind Hao, he leads you down into the depths of his estaste, Lady Azura, Marine, Lord Hrozai, and Jojo not far behind. Jojo was unwilling to leave you alone, and the tuskless have taken a sudden turn for the somber at hearing your mother's name.

“She's really my mom.” You say to Hao's back. His absurd shining aura is sheathed by luxurious fabrics that fall over his shoulders like a cloak.

He does not turn back to face you,”The issue here, Dearest White, is that we do not think that you're lying.”

You bow your head, your words restrained as your head swims with what could be the possibilities. “What if they just share the same name?”

“And status?” Lady Azura purrs from behind with a condescending chortle, “Child, we realize that you are confused, but grasping at theories will do you little good.”
Azura clings to Marine, a hand tipped with long claw-like fingernails painted in blues the color of fish scales, her hair-like plumage a cascade of silvers, blues, and sapphires combed to one side in long luscious curls. Her lips touched by platinum gloss, and her eyes radiating a mystifying white.
>>
>>33544209

“Where are you going anyway Lady Azura?” Marine mumbles in a happy daze. Her scent is mixed with the perfumes of the woman, it makes your nose wrinkle a bit.

“We are going to show you the records that our people have kept over the many years we've had upon this island.” Lord Hrozai answers with a practiced ease, still stroking a tuft of downy hairs upon his chin. Unlike Hao and Azura he's noticeably older, the wrinkles of maturity creasing his forehead and profile. His eyes shine with an unnatural glow, yet they don't seem to look upon anything in particular.

“Records?” Jojo is the first to speak.

“Indeed.” Hao's voice surpasses the others in this hall. “We bear records from a time before the cataclysm that shook this world.”
“The Araraki have their own and see it as a reminder for why we should avoid repeating the mistakes of the past.” Hao looks back now, his eyes bearing not a shine, not a glow, but a light.
“We weren't always like this. The stories passed down amongst your people; Steel wings of thunder and lightning, a voice that can reach across the planet, Metal ships the size of a village, and the ability to command all the creatures in the world... It was all possible... Once.”

You feel your eyes straining, going wide and amazed. “All that?”

“Your people as well. All people in fact if it is indeed true.”

“What happened?” You ask, descending further down the spiral stairway.

“There are many accounts. Though they all sum up one thing...”

“Yowr anscheshters overreached.” The White Ferrine speaks, standing before a door at the end of this long staircase., its whiskers glimmering in the darkness. A feline eye opens, glimmering and making eye contact with Hao, “Yowr showsh theym waht happeen?”
>>
>>33544233
Hao halts, staring down at the cat for a moment before pushing open the door. “I lied at dinner.” His voice devoid of that playboy emotion now.

When you look back to the cat, it's gone. The fur of your neck stands on end.

Pushing open a door to a room of ripe darkness, and palpably dry atmosphere. Within, you don't know what you'd expected. Tablets, or scrolls maybe? Books if you're really reaching...

No, within, you find old technology that looks like a much less stylish version of Sylph's. Like it was made with mind for the last turn of the century.

Monitors in a state of quiet sleep, server-towers and tablets packed away with wires leading to a dormant power source.

“These are the archives I had spoken of before.” Lord Hao approaches one of the monitors.

A white blur streaks from the corner of your visions, and the power turns on. Hao treats it as commonplace.
He touches the screen, operating it with a single digit. Eventually a large primary monitor fixed up in the center of the place comes on, showing everything that Hao is doing upon the screen in real time.

He opens a file labeled “Archives” and scrolls down further and further past a great many that are self titled. He stops, “Ah, I seem to have lost my train of thought... I believe I have pictures of Lorelei on here. Would you like to see that first?”

>inb4 the pictures of Lorelei are nudes
>>
Walking forward, you stand in the middle of the room, looking up at the screen,“I'd like to get it cleared up... The Lorelei of a thousand years ago, and my mother...”
Taking a still breath, your eyes search the screen for answers as Hao opens up a section of the archives and types in “Elite Four” into a search engine, instantly producing the results from text documents, image tags, and e-news directories.

He selects one that has a picture with a number of... humans standing together. A woman of Scarlet hair, much like your own stands next to three others, each with a monster of wildly different types by their side, perfectly docile.
“Who are they?” You walk closer to the screen, reaching up to touch the window's border, the dim light of the image reflecting off of your eyes.

“The Elite Four. From left to right. Agatha, Bruno. Lorelei, and Lance.”

You see someone with a red cap standing further behind them, a Charizard, one of the most ferocious and terrifying monsters imaginable at his side. “And who's that?”

“The champion that beat them all. Red.”

You take a step back, your heart thumping hard in your chest. Red.

(Beware of the Silver Range, you will find only Red there.)

A dream you had, it mentioned that name. “Is Red... Still alive?”

“We do not know. Our Ancestors lost contact with the mainland over a millennium ago. It is why we find the name of your mother so strange. Would you like to see other pictures?”

“Please.”

Hao goes through the pictures. You see Lorelei commanding monsters, sparring fields like a game, covered in ice. Monsters apparently taking perfect command from unmodified humans.

You see many people in the old images, and eventually Marine calls out, “Hey, who's that! She has a starmie!” She points at the picture of an orange-redheaded girl, clad in a swimsuit not unlike that of Cerulean quarter.
>>
“That is Misty of Cerulean. She commanded water type monsters.”

“Misty?” You say under breath.

“Yes, it is my understanding that she was something of a tomboy from the articles that there are of her exploits. As much as she loved her sisters, she never quite got along with them, she loved to travel...”

You hold your head, in your confusion. She has orange-red hair... and...“That was our original leader...”

You look back to Marine, as she watches the screen from under Azura's arm. Her hair is the same color.

“Marine...”

“What is it Ceru?” She gives you a perplexed look. All of this is simply glazing over her head.

“Your hair.. It's the same color as Misty's...” You point at her. You're trying to make some kind of connection. But what is it? What's going on?

“Are you trying to say that Misty is my mom?” Marine rolls her eyes, “Get real Ceru, you remember my dad, right?”

You slowly nod, “Y-yeah... But I don't know mine, and-”

“And what?” Marine abandon's the comfort of Azura, stepping forward. Obviously belligerent about this whole thing, “Yeah? So what? I don't know my mom! What if Misty -was- my mom? What should I do about it?”

“Misty was a Gym Leader that lived a thousand years ago as well.” Hao says as he presents another picture of the same woman, in front of her gym. A large building with a wall of glass for its front, a monster emblazoned overhead. It looks like it's related to the Seel that's implanted in you.

Hao turns to look at the two of you. “This is increasingly odd...”

“Quite.” Hrozai steps forward to place a hand upon Marine's shoulder. “Be calm child, fighting your friend will not give you the answers that you seek.
Marine draws a deep breath and turns away, “I don't get why we care so much anyway. So what if they lived a thousand years ago? It's not like it matters to us now.” She crosses her arms.

“It matters to us at least. Because we know of these people that lived a thousand years ago. And you know of your own. They allegedly bear the same name, title, and in this case you two bear the same hair colors. It begs us to wonder...”

“Waht are yew reery?” The white cat yowls, standing atop the primary monitor, seemingly weightless in his balance.
>>
Marine opens an eye, and you look to the monitor only to find the cat gone again, now before Marine.
“WAHT ARE YEW REERY, PHEEESH?” The cat yowls in her face, giving her enough of a scare to punch in reflex, sending the cat flying back, disappearing mid-flight.

“What... The distortion... Is that thing?” Marine speaks between shaken breaths.

“A nuisance, though it is right. However if the two of you knew, you wouldn't be reacting this way... Shall I show you the record?”

>>
“Please.” You submit yourself to learning of what happened... The history that you were never aware of...

You and Marine sit down, and Kurojo beside you and the other tuskless.

What transpired a thousand years ago... There's a video.

A woman, with a microphone appears onscreen, behind a metal barricade, explosions ringing out in the city behind her. There's barely restrained panic painted across her face, it's all she can do to not break out in tears. “Since the breakdown of pokeballs, pokemon the globe over have begun to attack cities, towns, and settlements. Behind me you see Celadon city amidst an attack by waterborne Gyarados, that've snaked up the bridge.
Gym Leaders Erika, and Sabrina are doing battle with it now, keeping the pokemon at bay while people retreat to the protection of Saffron. Other trainers with latent abilities and still loyal pokemon are rushing to their aid!
The Civil Defense of Celadon warns against anyone from attempting passage to the city-” She cuts off, placing a hand upon her ear to listen to a headpiece.

“This just in, more monsters are attacking from the forests, refugees are advised to await escort, or risk being attacked by an organized movement of Raticate, Ratatta, and other forest and field monsters. I repeat-”
Something in the distance snakes its way up into view of the camera, a colossal leviathan with blue scales and a crown-like crest upon its head. It turns in the direction of the lens, and obliterates it in a blinding light, ending the video abruptly into static.

“That was the first time that the other denizens of this world were referred to as monsters.” Lord Hao explains.

“Pokemon? Why would they call them that?”
>>
“Here's another to explain that...”

A video comes on, a man in a white labcoat with graying disheveled hair comes on. He's not unlike the professors back at the research bureau.
He holds a red and white sphere in his hand, presses a button, and pikachu pops out, completely docile, and rubbing up against his leg harmlessly.
"Hello, there! Glad to meet you! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Oak! People affectionately refer to me as a Pokémon Professor. This world… …is inhabited far and wide by creatures called Pokémon! For some people, Pokémon are pets. Others use them for battling. As for myself… I study Pokémon as a profession. But first, tell me a little about yourself.”

“Battling?” That part stands out to you... People battled monsters against each other?

“Hey, what's that thing he's holding?” Marine points up at the screen.

Hao readjusts the place of the video.

“This is a Pokeball.” The professor shows the sphere to the camera as it auto adjusts to show it in detail. As it pans back, he hits a button and the Pikachu dissapears, as light that seems to be sucked into the ball.
“With this, even a young trainer such as yourself can capture wild pokemon and tame them. So long as you've received an appropriate badge, even pokemon of extremely high potential will obey you.”

With that little ball... You could bring any monster under your command? Humans of a thousand years ago could do this? “But, if they had something like that...”

“This will be the last video that I show you, of the same man.”
>>
>>33546993

>>
>>33546984

>>
>>33546984

>>
>>33546926

>>
>>33547014

The video changes, and the same man's lost an arm, wears bags under his eyes, fresh wounds upon his face staining white bandages. “It appears that my attempt to restore the system has failed... The way things are going now, the world is destined for its end as we know it. Saffron and Pallet are the last to have any line of defense as Sylph Co. tests their experimental “Repel” technology that actively analyzes the brainwaves of monsters and erases whatever's within from their mind.
Pokeballs have failed, the ones that have been bred and trained for our bloodsport have turned against us. The Elite Four were the last ones to fall victim to their own poke-” He pauses for a moment. “Monsters. We'll be safe under Sylph's protection, and I've heard of many other regions having their own domes set to preserve the last of humanity...” Th man in the image sighs, standing up and adjusting the camera, pointing it to people that appear partially transformed, put under with Ivs in their arms.

“These two are the Patient zeros of the new strain of pokerus... It afflicts us now. The symptoms are benign until exposed to dangerous environments. It appears that in even this strain there is already genetic diversity as it overwrites the human genome. Subject 01, 'Red' appears to have taken on some of the traits borne by his Charizard, developing scales, bone-like growths, and a tail.”
The camera scans over the boy of black hair. His breathing still, intermittently snorting out flames.
“He's also developed an affinity for flame, it seems. Perhaps with enough stimuli the metamorphosis will be complete?”

Your breath catches in your throat, and before you can ask... The video pauses.

Uh, the latter? There's no reason why he wouldn't be able to have sex. Otherwise, that would completely invalidate all the fanfiction.

>>33547181

“Arceus gave us this blessing when those devices failed.” Lord Hao moves from his console, to stand before the screen, it outlines his body amidst this dark room.
“The Araraki say that the hubris of humanity doomed us, and this is the way that we repent... The Smolder have lost their history... And this is what we keep...” Lord Hao turns to face the screen, studying the picture.
“The people of our city realized that the change was likely inevitable, however we learned to control it. There were those that were banished before we fully understood what a blessing it was. We would have never thought that they would survive the hazards of the world after exile. Yet they did.”

“And then we discovered the Ferrynes. The Araraki that dissolved their safety willfully to give themselves to the land, and the Smolodhans that would be the epitome of humanity's aggression, and ingenuity...”

First figure out that Pokerus likely is an abbreviation of "Pokemon-Virus" and realize it's the same thing as M-Virus which of course is the same thing as Monster Virus.

Then give these guys a censored explanation for how Marine and us look so different. Like say that the average member of the Dome looks just like the humans pictured in the video, but, when... exposed to certain stimuli, we... "adapt" much like Red was able to.

People volunteer to have this done to themselves to protect the Dome from the now hostile wildlife. The process is done on children primarily and is irreversible when evolution occurs.

You swallow, abandoning the question. You'd really rather not know.
“I think it's time that we left... I've got a lot to think about.” You fold your arms and look down to the ground.
Marine's sobered up quite a bit since the movies began. You can feel her turmoil as well, it's clearly different from yours though. “Yeah... Could we come back tomorrow?”

Lord Hao nods, “Of course, you are a welcome guest here-”

The fat cat peers out from behind a desk “Pheeeeeesh.” It drawls out, staring at you and Marine.

“And the Ferryne is starting to freak me out.” She mumbles.

Azura pats Marine on the head, tussling her red-orange hair.“Would you not like to join me in my bed? I promise, I'll make you feel as wonderful as before...”

“Azura, that is hardly appropriate. Neither then and especially not now.” Hrozai interjects.

Azura's about to retort when Jojo stands up, “The ones banished. They were tusked, weren't they?”

Hao looks to Kurojo as a Silph Co would look to a ranger, yet then he brightens, as though he nearly sees him as an equal, “Your people changed greatly and much too fast as our records say.”

“So... it isn't a curse...”
>>
>>33548064
Possible.

Still, as long as we don't outright lie, I don't think the Kahkori will find any holes in the idea.
>>
“But you will still say that it is so. For the fragile peace of our empire is built upon this lie. If Tuskless do not stand on top, we would war. During this war the Araraki would liberate themselves, and then the Smolder would be the next to follow. A four way war with no end in sight but the annihilation of one kind of human. All it would take then is an explosion of monsters suited to obliterating the broken winners.

Such as Nar-Kage.”

Jojo's bound to say something, yet holds his tongue. The scenario holding fast in his mind. “I... understand...”

“We maintain this order for the good of all. Smolder do not burn all the land. Araraki do not confine us to their practices, and we lead this union... You are all excused. Azura, Hrozai, please escort them from here. I will stay for a few moments longer...” The White Cat peers out of its hiding place again...

The tusked would be the first to die in the war, followed by the tuskless. The Araraki are the only ones who have a chance at gaining anything, but they wouldn't want such massive conflict anyway.
>>
>>33548339
The tuskless' charm aura is pretty powerful, though. If the rumors of Hao charming Nala have any truth in them... Also, Yasake is completely subservient. Whether that's because he was taught to be or because of constant exposure to the tuskless' charm aura, I can't say.

The Araraki fought against the Kahkori, but lost when the Smolder came to aid in the war against them. If a fissure appeared between the tusked and tuskless, they might act upon it.
>>
>>33548489
If the tusked rebelled, some would remain under their control while others would fight. But the tusked can do almost nothing against the tuskless, so they look to the smolders.

If the Smolders and tusked work together, the tusked would hold off other tusked while the Smolders take on the tuskless. With the type matchup, the Smolders would win, but the losses would be heavy. The tusked would be nearly wiped out from fighting on both sides.

If the Araraki intervene, nobody would trust them. They can either further the division between rebel tusked and servant tusked, or just not interfere at all, walling themselves up. It took the smolders AND tusked to beat them, who are currently busy fighting the tuskless.
>>

Oh right, Fairies aren't very effective against Fire.
>>
Just before shutting the door, you turn to Hrozai, “Why... Why did you tell us all this? If you go to Kanto-City all that... order you just talked about would be destroyed.”

Lord Hao turns back, lookingh to you with only his enlightened peripheral,” I said it was a fragile thing, didn't I? As soon as the Smolodhans figure out that you can make ships of metal, it's broken. If we could at least leave this island prison, we'd have no need to worry about the precarious balance we must uphold. You are hope.
Even the Araraki must see that.”

“I... see...”

“Good night Cerulean. Have a pleasant slumber.” Lord Hao turns back. The cat steps out, and the door closes...

You receive a change of close, a wash, and are told by the dressers that Lord Hao had decided to gift the clothes to you already.

You leave the estate behind, in much more comfortable almost civilian clothes. Lord Hrozai and Lady Azura bid you a farewell at the door. Marine swoons to the woman, and she blows her a kiss.

“Will you be returning to the guild?” Hrozai asks out of courtesy.

“I'm... Going to talk to the Araraki. I want to hear what they have to say.”

Hrozai nods dutifully, “I advise you to be careful then. Out of everyone in the city, they would be most troubled by your origin.”

“I will, and thank you.” With a nod of your head, you depart into the overbearing heat of a tropical afternoon with the festivities within the city still ongoing.

It takes the three of you sometime to find the District of Bone, yet it's fairly obvious when you do find it.
Araraki guards standing present, give you one look over with iridescent eyes, and immediately one of them says, “We will lead you.”
>>
The other one assumes the rear, and you're escorted to a great structure. The outside stretched leather held by the ribcage of some monster. Out of curiousity, Marine taps it. Instead of bouncing, her shell knocks against it. It's hard.

Within, you smell a great deal of chemicals, salves, flowers and perfumes enough to sting your nostrils.
It's not long however until you're sitting before a shallow pool of water, awaiting the elders...

The guards leave, and soon others come in, the two from the feast, and a few more. A timid one settling in beside you.

“You!” Marine and yourself say in unison. It's the Araraki you'd hunted with.

“We tell Elders. They want us here...” She curls her tail around. She's still separated from the three of you, near only in mild association.

The ornate ,asks gather round, dipping their tails into the pool of water. Your eyes flick between the one that you know, and the elders.

“Your” Araraki's eyes have a clearly flower-like pattern within her iris. Her eyes have a color, her scales are visible, her robes in tatters llike some kind of pauper,

The elders all have robes that appear to be crafted with a certain order to the leathers and the cuts, nearly seamless as it drapes over their bodies with patters of discoloration as decoration. Reds, blacks, whites, among browns. It's artful. The masks cast a shadow upon their faces and their eyes are perfect circles devoid of emotion, with a spooky, haunted glow. Whether this is their age or the result of metamorphosis, you can't know.

“Greetings White. We are glad that you have joined us so soon. We feared that our invitation might have gone ignored based on our child.” The elders all speak at once, in unison, numbering five.

Well, as long as we're imagining how a war would play out.

The tusked remember the war with the Araraki and wouldn't easily ally with them, plus the Araraki might harbor an even greater distrust for the Smolder. The Smolder still carry the stigma of having destroyed their own lands, so the tusked may not trust them to share power with equally.

No one would want to leave themselves open to the Araraki, and the tuskless may even be the ones to strike first against them.

Smolders would not be the first to rebel. They don't have the ability to travel across the sea, unlike the Kahkori and Araraki (who build their boats out of bones, which we saw back at the shipyard when we first arrived). Same with the tusked. From Kurojo's earlier history lesson, the tusked's islands don't have boats on them because the waves don't allow for boats to sail away. Which means that the ships are all commanded by the tuskless. There may be pirates like the captain we sailed with, but depending on how captains are decided, the tuskless may still possess the naval advantage.

You bow your head politely, giving Marine a certain eye to tell her to keep quiet for this at least. She smiles, and obliges you, sitting quietly, her eyes drawn to the decreasing water level of the little pool.

“Her words hurt a bit... But I understand that she means well.” You give them a smile, neither their auras nor their eyes change. It's a little unnerving. “You wanted to talk to us about something?”

“Yes.” They seem to consider as one. “Lord Hao spoke of the others living in the city of glass at dinner... We wonder what you think of this. Would you allow others to live within your home?”

“Uhm...” The question kind of takes you by surprise. Among everything else, you hadn't really though of that too much, but... “I can't decide that. But I don't think the people in charge would allow it...” Or rather at all of Sabrina has any say in it.

“This is good.”

“Good?” You're not sure why you're surprised. You already know what they think of the dome.

“Yes. Good.” They state simply, flatly, and thus.

You shift uncomfortably under their stares, this is possibly stranger than you had thought. The Araraki, erm... This Araraki.” You point at the one you've associated with, “Told me that the dome, and the people there are bad. Can you, uh, explain that to me? I didn't really understand.”

One of the Elders moves alone, placing a hand upon the shoulder of the young one, “This child must do better to learn the language of Raguna. Her Master did not teach her this.” That Elder speaks alone, before returning the unity of the others.
>>

Well this thread has been enlightening so far. I have to wonder if the Dome's policy of isolation isnt due to some misguided fear of a return of the apocalypse.

“Yes. The Glass City has a history that we have passed down from generation to generation. Their technologies being the source of the evil that banished Serebyi from the world and upset the great god Arceus. Your people commanded nature itself to war, and ignored the land that they tore asunder. Ancient creatures lie broken, Lands carved by battle, and countless meeting their demise.” They all point as one, “You have escaped from their clutches, and you have the choice to rise above the evil that curses this world and banishes Serebyi.”

“What do you know of history?” You ask, recollecting the actual footage you'd so recently seen. It's not all that farfetch'd.

“We know that Araraki, Smolder, and Kahkori were not always like this. We know that what has happened is because of our wrongdoing. We suffer, survive, and give thanks to those one might call legend that we are so blessed to be here. Yet our lives without Serebyi, without a state of peace is without meaning.”

“What do you mean? It's peaceful here, isn't it?”

The Elders stare as one, their expressionless gaze somehow staring harder.
“No.” They hiss, in a cacophony.

“The Smolder destroy their own lands, The Kahkori keep us from our home, and the peace between us is false. It is no peace for Serebyi. We will never find Serebyi so long as they are so close to us.”

“Uhm.” Marine opens her big fat mouth... “What if Araraki look Serebyi other place?” She says in a broken sentence, yet the Elders pick up on it and chatter in an entirely foreign tongue amongst themselves.

“Uh, you can just ignore her... Don't pay any attention to her...”

Suddenly they hiss and hush each other, calming down, “She is correct. We would seek Serebyi in another place if we could, but we cannot. We cannot leave this island because of this ocean.”

One says, apart from the others, “We would not need to leave if the Smolder and Kahkori were gone...”
The others hush her.

Should we raise it up with them? I mean. This seems like the obvious spot to put it in.

>We can say that we suspect both the Smolder and the Kahkori seem to think that we represent a chance for them to leave these islands. But we're not sure of our Dome's capabilities to aid in that endeavor, or if they'd be willing to interact at all.

The Smolder could, of course, be capable of making engines that would help the ships move without the use of waves, but the Kahkori are afraid of the balance tipping too much and that the Smolder would wage war with them again. So they'd never give them the boats they'd need to leave the islands en masse.

>>33549869
No, Eevee are ESPECIALLY sensitive.

>>33549890
Well, the Kahkori cut down trees and the Smolder burned them down. I'm guessing the Araraki don't want any kind of industry that affects the land.
>>
>>33549771

What makes them think the Dome will help them move to a more isolated area?

>>
>>33549923
No what i mean is, if ppl were afraid of rapid evolution they would stay FAR away from things that cart around massive amounts of M-genes/pokerus. Eevees are utterly unstable, y'know what with being able to evolve into like a bazillion different forms. So logic follows that if people were afraid of rapid evolutions we wouldn't have eevees as pets everywhere. BUT WE DO. So that isn't the reason.

Eevee is a pokemon. As far as the setting is concerned all pokemon have pokerus to some extent, its what allows them to evolve like they do and shit. The eevee's inside the Domes evolve. So they cart around the mutagen inside them. And yet unmutated people keep them as pets. So it stands to reason that mutation isn't a problem anymore.
>>
>>33547370
>reading this just now

So wait, does the magnetism fuck with repel tech or does the Magnemite implant attempt to carry out its autonomous directive and consume the metal and electricity required for repel tech?
>>
>>33550173
Maybe now there's a good time to tell them Lorelei's message?

Because even if she's a clone and we can't remember her face, she still existed, presumably raised us, and said those things. So it still counts.
>>
>>33550225
Yes, yes, Eevee is a pokemon, but it's unstable and liable to evolve into anything. So I was implying that its instability is what stops it from 'imprinting' on people.
>>
>>33550260
It's not really something to bring up now. And they're not going to care about what someone's intentions are; they abhor all technology. So leave them to it. Let them live as they like.
>>
>>33550261
I would argue otherwise. The instability would, at least IMHO cause an accelerated production of mutagen, in order the keep the body alive through its unstable evolutionary sequence. After all if you have like 3 different evolutionary tracts going on inside of you, then you would need help not to suddenyl burst into three different creatures at once and die due to misaligned, or wrong organs fucking you up (among MANY other things).

>>33550254
Magnemite probs consumes the metal as an instinct. The rangers with this implant probably wouldn't be able to stop themselves from doing so.
>>
>>33550340
>The instability would, at least IMHO cause an accelerated production of mutagen
That doesn't really relate to
>After all if you have like 3 different evolutionary tracts going on inside of you, then you would need help not to suddenyl burst into three different creatures at once and die due to misaligned
In fact, that's completely counter-productive.

The higher their M-count becomes, the harder it would be for them to stop from mutating. We've been told before that a high M-count is best for adapting foreign grafts to the body. You'd want to have a low M-count to prevent mutations.
>>
>>33550409
Well eevee already has a high M-count, naturally, because it mutates in so many different ways. I honestly have to wonder, do eevee's breed like mad to overcome their own internal instability?
>>
“I haven't really heard of Serebyi before getting here. I've heard of Arceus, but not Serebyi... But from what I understand, Serebyi wants peace, right?”

“Yes. We have not had peace for a very long time. Not since we first knew of the Smolder's presence.”

“Their presence?” You ask, shifting within the tent, sealing your nose, having had quite enough of all the strange odors here. Not much better to breath them though. Much of it smells like flowers and other herbs. They must be growing near here.

“Yes. Our ancestors tell of a time where they once spoke with Serebyi. We were once guided, and taught how to live like this. Serebyi showed us the past and told us that we must never repeat the mistakes of our ancestors or Arceus's punishment would be far worse.”

“Arceus liberated nature from the clutches of evil.” One says.

“Arceus cursed us, so that we could understand the world and protect it.” Another states.

“Serebyi left us when the Kahkori and Smolder came.”

“The Kahkori promise that peace would return. Yet Serebyi does not.”

“Then two from the Glass cities, those hidden from the eyes of god arrives to us now with kindness in their hearts.”

“So now we ask.” They speak as one again, “Do you want peace, or do you want evil?”
>>
“I have to choose? Just between those two?” You ask, with full understanding of what they mean... Peace means that you deny the dome. Evil means that you go back. You kept saying before that you'd go back home, that you didn't care after a point. You've doubted before though and your thoughts are clouded now.

Something happened in the past... They don't want a mistake to be repeated... Their auras, though strange still tell you that they are earnest, they don't have a truly mean bone in their body, even the one that suggested extermination.

“I need to go and face the evil then...” You say whilst fidgeting your fingers, cupping your hands together only after the declaration and looking up at them. “If I don't help them prevent their mistakes and get rid of the evil, then how are they supposed to know peace?”

The Elders are silent at that, watching you quietly... They wait for more.

“There are people there that I care about, that I want to protect. But if they're being bad and they don't know it, then I have to tell them. How else will they ever change?”

One pf the Elders speak, “We have tried this long ago with those we tolerate. Smolder ridicule us for or careful natures.
“Kahkori undermine us for their own luxury and the Smolder's insistence.”

“What about the Ferryne?”

“They are always watching.” One of the other Elders grumbles, low and ominous, the others hush him in unison.

“Is there anything left that you would ask us? Your answer is... worth thinking about.”

See, the part about us returning is so that we can actually, you know. Be the ones to enact those changes. If you can't think of how to or disinclined to actually even try to think for yourself, then just clam up and let other people do the thinking instead.

Maybe ask if we can talk to that one Araraki we hunted with?

Like ask her if she figured out what to do with those Nargacuga eggs?

I'm not sure if she told her leaders about that.

Also, should we point out that, in the wrong hands, our gear is very VERY dangerous? Like if you try and tinker with or break it, there's a good chance it'll go boom.
>>
>>33551045
Why? Why are you intent on that? If your worry is because Prof is a crappy writer who goes for SHOCK AND EDGE, then forget about that now. If it happens, then it's because he's a crappy writer. But don't dismiss any other possibility just because of that.

I think I have an idea what she's planning.

Go ahead and bring up us possibly being able to help, but don't mention the ships. The Smolder haven't yet discovered how to make metal ships, right? And the Araraki seem likewise ignorant of it, so it may not be in their records.

Just keep quiet about the boats. We don't want to accidentally cause the Araraki to do anything rash.

Dran DID say at the start of the quest that we would see the fall of the Dome. Or at the least had nightmares about it. So im NOT putting it out of the question. Yeah, see, that can easily be interpreted otherwise. That's the thing about prophetic crap. Especially with the recent implication of us being clones.

“I wanted to say... We're looking for a way to return. If we find one, we might be willing to help you with your problem of finding Serebyi. I'm not sure of my city would agree, or how long it would take, but would you be willing to accept that?”

“You speak of a way from this land, yes?” One Elder asks, his voice low and a bit wary.

You nod, “Yes. Maybe if I find the ones that are willing to listen?”

The Elders whisper amongst themselves, it is relaxed this time. One of them even draws “your” araraki into the conversation. She offers a word here and there, eventually nodding.

“They like that... We sorry for making mad.”

You give her a pleasant, toothy smile, “It's okay, no worries. I'd just really like it if we could all be friends and help each other out. You're not bad, I can tell. And you can all tell that I'm not bad either right?”

“You are a kind soul. May you be delivered from evil, and never repeat the mistakes of your past... Nor your kin,” the Elders say together. “We must take our leave now. Return to our places. Goodbye.”

They lower their heads, bowing before you. All but one disappearing like before. The elders are... Kind of eerie.

You and Marine finally leave, Kurojo in tow and highly troubled by all the information today. He doesn't say much, still toiling with his thoughts, and you're thankful for that. Your own have a lot to work out.

You return to the Guild hall for dinner, and you see Nala eyeball you from a table, swiftly prowling over,”I must speak with you three in private.” She turns her heads, the other Vi-Smohkans eying you from another table. “It will be without them, they are aware. Though they will be speaking with you next.”
>>
You sense Nala's sudden urgency, and it begs you to wonder what exactly happened after they left. She stares into your eyes, searching for something that one of supernatural senses might've seen.
“Nala, what's wrong?”

“I will tell you once we are in Akabaron's chamber. I do not need the other Smolder hearing of this.”

You and Marine look to each other, Kurojo starts to head off.

“Where are you going?” The Smolder woman snarls.

“You don't need me, right?”

Nala snorts an affirmation, “No, just these two.”

“Okay then.”

You look the Smolder in her ember eyes, “Nala, what's wrong?”

“I. Will. Tell. You. In. Private.” She chews on every word, before hurriedly making way for Akabaron'd private quarters.

What do you think the Fall of the Domes will be a happy and truly sunshine and flowers and puppies event?
Are you nuts? The problem with that is, well the Dome we live in has millions of people inside of it. If this area is indicative of more "natural" ways of life to obtain this "natural state" requires a LOT of those people to die. After all the islands have what, maybe 100,000 people in them?
Even if we open up the Dome without it falling into a civil war, the monsters outside will have a fucking feast day on all of the delicious people inside of it. I would like to assume that this is a bad thing.

You arrive in Akabaron's cabin and Nala takes a deep, irritated breath, seeing some relief that you're all in some manner of privacy.

“Nala, what is this abo-” You begin as soon as the door closes.

With a bite, she cuts you off, “Akabaron.”

“What about him?” Marine comes off as a bit cross, obviously getting irate from hunger and the lack of games today.

Nala lowers her head a little, paces in a circle, flexes her claws. “I did not think that Hao would move so quickly, I fear that he may...”

“May what?” You sigh, really wanting to get to the point.

“It was his idea. Akabaron spiked your drinks with special treat we give to cubs and went to Smelda with your devices. I wanted to come out with it, so you knew what was going on before Hao let you know. I heard that he asked around, but I didn't have enough time to say anything before the meet and I had to talk to the other Vi-Smohkans so that they'd know not to give away his activity.
They made it clear that he'd approached Infernius about it.”

You back away for a moment, your eyes locking on Nala, almost in disbelief. “Akabaron... stole my...”

>>
>>33551708
Well, I can understand why he wouldn't talk about it since we can't lie in front of the tuskless, but still. Not that I wouldn't expect them to be ruthlessly efficient when conducting espionage.

Get angry. Because we embarrassed ourselves for nothing in the Guild Hall. As for whether we can trust them; we can trust them to help us get home, at the very least. Beyond that, let's keep our hands off of things.

>>

I'm guessing he took it to try and convince a engineer to come back with him. Kinda a dick move considering we "might" have let him borrow it.

I would say something that is a mix of upset, and sad at the same time ,but hide that behind a mask.

Ask if he has been captured.

Also, no I don't want to report this to Hao at all.
>>
>>33551745
I don't know. I vote we ask them that very question.

As for >>33551708, I think she'd be a little more suspicious after both what we saw with their archaeotech, and what we saw for the way they treated UM with that slime stuff. They might claim there's a motive of mutual peace by not disturbing the current structure, but with this blatant disregard for your own guests? I don't know about you, but I don't spike my dinner parties with sodium pentathol.

Remember: Everything lord Hao tells us is a lie. Especially the truth.
>>

The Tuskless Kahkori just use their pheromones or whatever on us without our consent.

And the Araraki keep judging us and our family.
>>
>>33551708
I would say some anger, but with a bit of understanding.

Can't have the lie detector catching anything and I still trust them to help us. The fact that Nala told us is enough for me.

Ask more about Akabaron: has he been captured?
>>
>>33551708

>>
>>33551708
>How do you react? Do you hide your feelings on the matter from Nala?
Annoyed. Put out. No need to hold it in, but don't go ballistic over it. Be upset that they did not trust US enough in keeping quiet over their plans, at least. Although it's acceptable if they knew beforehand just how much pressure the tuskless can put on a person.

>Do you trust Akabaron and the Smolders?
I'm not sure if we can trust them not to go to war over it. We hope that they're level headed enough to not go to war with what they may have learned from our index.

>Do you resolve to report this to Hao tomorrow?
This is the crux of the entire thing. How much can we trust Hao now? How much of his personality that he just showed us is real? If we tell him, the 'status quo' would endure, but with the Smolder possibly being punished. If we don't, the Smolder might possibly go to war.

They seem like pragmatists, after all. If they don't think they can receive any help from the Dome, they might take things into their own hands.

I think we should ask Nala to speak with Akabaron ourselves when he returns. See if we could learn more about his intentions from the guy himself.

Seconding us asking to speak with Akabaron privately when he returns. We don't want a war to spark, after all.

It's annoying that they didn't trust our resolve to not break under questioning from the tuskless (and they question pretty hard), but we can use that to ask Akabaron to be a bit more candid about his plans for us and on what he's learned.

Effort Values. You fight a pokemon, you get a certain amount of training in the base stats (For example: Goldeen gives Atk EV's). Pokemon are limited to a total of 510 EV points, and a max of 255 EV's for any given stat. If you fight enough of the right pokemon from the very beginning, you can get stats optimized for your pokemon and ignore those worthless to it (Like Sp. Atk beeing worthless for Fighting pokemon since they're physical attackers).

They're pragmatic. We can still be upset, though, but don't become ignorant of the reasons they had. We JUST experienced how strong Hao's Charm Aura was, after all.

The best we can do with these feelings is direct them into something useful, like getting a talk with Akabaron to get him as frank as he can be with us.

Marine rolls her eyes,”Yeah, and you're making big deal out of it. Not like we really need it anyway.”

You almost want to scream, but you take a breath. A deep, deep breath and try to think about it rationally. “Why didn't you guys just ask? And both of them?”

Nala watches you, eying you carefully for a moment. “One is more suspicious than two. Akabaron's plan is to reverse engineer the technology you showed us. If it could make a ship invisible...”
>>
“It could bypass monsters...” You say, a bit beside yourself. It'd be just like the ships back home. So long as the repel grid doesn't fail, it'd be able to move unhindered.
“Yeah, it'd work, but what gave him that-”

“Akabaron is Vi-Smohkan of Smelda. We are the most ingenious of the three isles, even if I am a poor representative.” Nala bows her head, scratching carefully behind an ear. “He thought of it as soon as he saw you do that. Don't tell them they can make ships out of metal. We need to talk to Akabaron first. When we spoke with him, he seemed the pensive type. So if it was up to him, going to war might not be the first thing on his list. The problem lies with the other two leaders.

We need to speak to Akabaron. There are things we need to become certain of. If he thinks war is an inevitability, we should try to find a way to put it off.

Ask them to stage our deaths while out on hunts, we need to get out of the public eye. Once that's done, we set up camp with one of the repel tech and three of the Volt Orbs, and we can hide from searching parties in an obscure location relatively near the town.

Yeah. We need to ascertain some things with him.

He's got the cooperation of the other Smolder leaders too, and they might be more interested in war than in finding a new home. And it would be good to know if Akabaron is the same way.

>>33552139
This man has the right of it, BUT its not dependent on type, it is dependent of the specific pokemons BST (or Base Stat Totals, for the uninitiated). For instance Lucario is a Fighting/Steel type and its BST spread is as such that you can make it an ATT based mon, a SpAtt based mon or have its stats mixed to do both. It does all of these really well. Also SpAtt, Choice Specs Machamp wrecks all kinds of ass.
>>
>>33552372
It pretty much is. And Akabaron's pretty much Wrex. I honestly didn't mean for him to end up like that.

I cured the genophage and made sure wrex lived. He's a cool guy.
>>
>>33552399
He's right, I didn't specify that it depends on base stats. I used fighting as a generalization, figuring that they'd have low base Sp. Atk stats and little to no Sp. Atk moves anyways.
>>
>>33552423
So next post is going to be your last, huh?

Because god damn you're killing my schedule this week/next week (depending on what day you start your week from). It's good to know the approximate time you end so I can plan around all that.
>>
“While I'd like my things back, I'd like to talk to Akabaron when he returns. When should I expect him back?”

“We weren't lying when we said that it's likely that it'd be a month from now...” Nala obliges, perking her ears op a bit, a slight growl released from her throat, “You deserve to speak with him about this, yes... I am glad that you are so understanding White, Marine.”

“No prob.” Marine waves Nala off, acting all cool and chilled out.

You give Nala a bit of a stink eye, but let it pass. “I just don't want you guys declaring war on the Kahkori or anything. I don't think any of you should be fighting like this.”

“Honestly? Neither does Akabaron. But the Kahkori keep us under their dew claws. If we had a way of leaving our lands for good and on our own, we might actually not need to fight them... Well.” She relaxes, “I am glad you are so understanding. You're a good kid, your mother would be proud.”

That twists you up a little on the inside. Mom... Is she really out there? Somewhere?

You leave the room with Marine in tow. The other Vi-Smohkans are speaking with Nala in the guild hall. Shushed, all of them. You're not called over to talk, so you take the chance to return to your quarters, and throw yourself back in your chosen hammock.

Marine swings beneath you as you both process everything you've heard today.

“Hey Ceru?”

“Yeah Marine?”

“I don't want to go back.”

Well at least you managed to answer my questions from the past couple of thread effectively. Basically we are still the same civilization that was in the pre apoc times. And when the Pokeballs failed the crux of that civ died with them. And it has been about 1000 years since then.
Now we only have the current series of questions to answer for.

>>33552582
I will be honest here, we serve little to no purpose at the Dome. We really dont. All our Dome experience was, was "Defend the Dome!" and shenanigans would ensue. If that is how our adventure is going to continue to play out i'd rather it be on our own terms. Like instead of DEFEND THE DOME! i would rather our nebulous goal be "ADVENTURE!" and shenanigans ensue.
>>
>>33552625
I could see Bruise going for it. and maybe Goldie there aren't any Sabrina's on the island are there?
>>
>>33552535
"No shit."
>>
>>33552580
Bruise. Maybe Devon. Lilac.

Sanna loves civie comforts too much, she'd bitch and moan up a storm.

Goldie would probably cry about his mom, for a long while.

Devon's a tossup, his evil mind would make him a it of a pariah as well as his dedication to the rockets. But he might've just been contrary .

Lilac would 100% want to stay and explore.

Bruise would likely respect these people more and be interested in what they all have to say. Likely he'd be trying to convince you guys to busybody it up.

>>33552652
Goldie's relationship with his mother is... complicated.
>>
>>33552651
>Well at least you managed to answer my questions from the past couple of thread effectively. Basically we are still the same civilization that was in the pre apoc times. And when the Pokeballs failed the crux of that civ died with them. And it has been about 1000 years since then.
Uh. That's what people were telling you.
>>
>>33552535
"Marine we cant stay here either. all we would do is destabilize this land even more than it already is."
>>
>>33552651
But Rockets are the exploratory force for the Dome.
>>
>>33552681
She just wants to hunt monsters and maybe fuck the tuskless.
>>
>>33552691
How much "exploring" have we done since we graduated from Rocket Training? None. The Rockets are not explorers, they are the Elite Guards. The exploring stuff is left up to the Gym rangers, not the elite soldiers.
>>
>>33552651
What series of questions?

Did the Elders seem a bit more reasonable than your resident "poor engrish" Araraki?

Did Lord Hao's somberness and reason make him a bot more respectable?
I realize he was acting like a colossal manwhore last thread. It was to make everyone else leave initially.
>>
>>33552681
Right now, she just wants to adventure without any worry. We have to tell her that, that's not the case. Trouble is brewing on these islands and things are going to get more complicated over time. If she wants to help them, then she needs to come home with us.

And we don't want to lose her.
>>
>>33552718
>Did the Elders seem a bit more reasonable than your resident "poor engrish" Araraki?
They didn't really act differently? They still think it's bad. The only thing they reacted positively about was the prospect of leaving the islands/having the Smolder and Kahkori leave.
>>
>>33552718
That whole argument that was going on about the history bits and how it didnt make sense for them to know about us. But you managed to explain it away well enough Dran.

>>33552712
>>33552723
I AM NOT SAYING WE ARE GOING BACK. Im just saying we cant stay here either.
>>
>>33552715
I don't think we really graduated yet? And we found that once village.
>>
>>33552771
while looking for a thief/murderer that sneaks into the dome.
>>
>>33552535
First off, we're going to have to start off with an emotional appeal. Get into her bunk and HUG her. Tell her we don't want her to leave us. She's been with us for so long.

If she asks us why we can't stay here with her too, then these things
>>33552625
>>33552723
should be brought up. We don't want to see the people here ruined, but who knows how it'll play out.

Just start things off emotionally. Cry a bit too. Should be easy, considering the pressure on Ceru (ranger responsibility, the prospect of a war looming beyond the horizon) and, to top it all off, our best friend is thinking of staying behind. She's just heaping it up there on top of everything else.
>>
>>33552535
Yeah. We know Marine.

We need to have girlfriend talk anyways. Like, 'Do you actually like the tuskless?' So we can stop worrying about her getting dateraped. I actually assume she does, even when she's not getting blasted by lust-rays, even though I hate it.
Would just leave Ceru stuffy, cold, and lonley. Icequeeeeeen
>>
>>33552564
Just a comment. While I understand why we probably either won't go back or truly rejoin the domes, I really did like the Team Rocket adventures. The Boss was a fantastic bit of manipulation around us constantly, and I was kinda waiting to see what happened to make us fall out of his good graces (and subsequently figure out what made the dome a hellhole instead of a paradise). The way it is now, I'm not certain that it is a truly bad thing, it's humanity trying to re-establish dominance over the world.

That said, I cannot WAIT for what happens when they learn on how rangers are created, and when their minds break from the implications.
>>
>>33552715
Uh, Rockets are not the "elite guard". They're the "elite rangers". The Rockets are all out on missions outside of the Dome too. Kitty is the only one left behind (and Giovanni) because she's in charge of training cadets.

>>33552788
We were secretly hired for that job.
>>
>>33552827
What implications? It's literally nothing but a more direct process of what happened to Red. Hell, what happened to all of them.

Except for Goldenrod, but he's an exception.
>>
>>33552827
We are NEVER telling them. They WILL kill us if they find out.
>>
>>33552715
We were the new fucking recruits.

They asked us to go on a expedition that might have taken months but we chose to help out our friend Lilly and the whole storm thing happened.
>>
>>33552718
Still don't get what makes the Gym Leaders or Elite Four really worth anything.
>>
>>33552827
I am not even that worried about it . Just need to couch it in terms comparing it to their use of monster parts in equipment. They capture and butcher monsters too. Our pikachu leathers just recharge on their own.
>>
>>33552827
The Araraki would be the only ones to completely freak out. Smolder may react better; hell, they might try it out themselves. The Kahkori could be split.
>>
>>33552879
Well, the Tuskless who know the truth probably wouldn't be surprised.

To be honest, I think Hao might suspect already.
>>
>>33552847
Yeah, we hadn't even graduated yet to become a full rocket.
>>
>>33552868
I wonder if Devon is on that expedition right now.

I wonder if we won't accidentally bump with the Rangers who went on that expedition while making our way back home. That seems like a logical way of us being able to enter the Dome again.
>>
>>33552894
Oh yes, we're definitely not full Rockets.

Cadets normally aren't even able to go on missions until they become full Rangers, I think. Only Rockets are exempt from that.
>>
>>33552868
Oh right. We did just pass up on a chance for ADVENTURE.

But wound up bailing on Lilac even worse than we originally would have in the first place.
>>
>>33552861
That's what's delicious about it. An accidental sentence here, silence when we're usually extremely loud, just a number of little things adding up to more horror. And we think that it's not only perfectly normal, but that it's virtuous to perform these surgeries upon small children.
>>33552879
I think the Araraki would be mostly unhappy about the plant ones.
>>
>>33552897
>Devon
>Relaxing around the expedition camp
>Suddenly he hears a rustle from the bushes
>Gets ready to fight
>As he's about to lunge, he sees Ceru burst out in a chain mail bikini

>>33552672
PROF.
PROOOOOOOOOOOOF.
PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFF.
>>
>>33552897
>Bump into the expedition

I would be perfectly fine with this and if Devon is there all the better.
>>
>>33552945
>Goldie and Bruise are there too
Come on Prof!
>>
>>33552945
He is going to get hugged to death.
>>
>>33552827
I pointed out with >>33548011
That for the Tuskless at least, we're square.

Now the Araraki might just make them want us to leave more. Which I'm fine with.
>>
>>33552962
>"That can't be Ceru! This girl has boobs!"
>>
>>33552964
>First thing Ceru does after seeing a familiar face is hug them
>Devon gets a face full of Ceru's softness
>>
>>33552984
>motorboating intensifies
>>
>>33552992
>Steam erupts between his face and Ceru's chest
>The two get completely wet
>>
>>33553016
I still like jojoXceru better
>>
>>33552718
>Did the Elders seem a bit more reasonable than your resident "poor engrish" Araraki?
Was the difference supposed to be from calling everyone in the Dome evil to their technology being evil?
>>
>>33553028
After that one fic I'm in no way surprised.
>>
>>33552943
I'm pretty sure we know it's messed up. Which is why we're making sure no one says anything.

Maybe we can use that as a reason for why we have to leave?

Like explain to Marine that if they know what we really are, then they'd all probably hate us.
>>
>>33553028
Jojo is too much like Bruise to me right now, except less infallible seeming.

>>33553038
It's not finished yet, though?
>>
>>33553050
Just checked, no update to Birdbath.
>>
>>33552945
Would he even recognize us?

Also bets on when our Seel graft will finally decide to evolve?
>>
>>33553070
I don't ship it, but I still want it bad. Sultry, aggressive Ceru is just too much.
>>
>>33553070
I hope Wanderer just edits the pastebin instead of making a new one, if he can't finish it before the timeskip.
>>
>>33553080
It already did. It's the Remoraid and the... Crynid? Blast, can't remember the second one. Anyways, one needs us to eat a Dragon, the other might have happened already.
>>
>>33553120
No, our Seel graft didn't evolve. The horn DID change, however, when our Crytten evolved.
>>
So has Marine just not been paying attention to all the "this whole region is inches away from a complete societal collapse, with us being both the match that lit the powder keg, as well as the only possible solution"?

Because sticking around here just isn't a viable option in the current political clime.
>>
>>33554141
Well, she does barely speak the language. So far she's got to fight monsters and get diddled by a sexbird. Not a bad deal.
>>
>>33554141
I want to know why she assumes that going back to the Dome is the only other option. After all can we not just go elsewhere and have wild ADVENTURE! there?
I get that she doesn't want to go back. After all she was nothing but miserable there, what with a pedophile for a dad and apparently an absent mom. But we need her to come with us to avoid setting off a war in this very unstable region.
>>
>>33554168
True, but, I'm pretty sure that, as long as we take steps to ensure that our memories aren't erased and we aren't assassinated, Marine would be a shoe-in for becoming an ambassador for this region.

...Or at least someone who works with the real ambassador, because like fuck are we trusting Ultramarine with diplomacy.
>>
>>33554201
...The problem with wandering off the map is that here there be dragons.

We would die almost immediately. I really don't think you get that this is now a death world.
>>
>>33554201
Again, ADVENTURE is what Team Rocket is all about.

We literally passed up on the chance to Adventure right before we did the boat mission.
>>
>>33554260
Ok two things.

One: We are not helpless underpowered humans, we can hold own own against the horrors of this world.

Two: If the world actively seeks out and kills civilizations, why do these islands have one? Why is their biggest threat each other, as opposed to say the Nar-Kage, a very lethal and dangerous monster?
>>
>>33554327
Because they live in an isolated area?

And you want to what, just wander around and hope we find people? That won't kill us on sight?

Also, you don't really understand the horrors that exist in both Pokemon and Monster Hunter.
>>
>>33552672
But what about Janine? Is her family more important to her than freedom from obligations?
