You silently walk through the upper floor, looking for anything of interest. Your investigation continues, but remains fruitless.

"Any luck down there, Ryuuko?", you ask telepathically.

"None so far, unless you count convincing Mako that we're not organ traffickers. I'll keep looking.", she answers.

It doesn't seem like this search is going to be particularly informative.

The other Ryuuko fidgets nervously. "...Hey, Eyeb- Satsuki, can I ask you a question, too?"

"What is it?"

"What do you think about... the other me?"

"What do I think about Ryuuko?", you repeat the question. "She's the most important person in my life. I will never forget how we first met, or when she first addressed me as a sister, alongside many other memories I share with her. She has changed who I am, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

You hear sobbing, and notice that the alternate Ryuuko is tearing up. "...And I envy you. Her, specifically. Talking to you makes me wish I had an older sister, too. Well, I do have one, but... you know what I mean."

"You wish to get along with this world's Satsuki?', you ask.

"...Yes. I don't believe it's possible, but seeing the two of you, I really wish we were like that, too." She looks down. "But I guess I can keep dreaming. Nothing like that will ever happen."

"It may be a lot more possible than you think. If the other Satsuki is anything like me, nothing would make her more happy than finding out her little sister is alive."

"...I don't think it's a good idea to just walk up to her and tell her."

You smile. "Don't lose hope, Ryuuko. It might take some time, but your dream has a high chance of coming true."

"...Thanks. Can I..." She mumbles something inaudible, blushing and looking away.

"I didn't quite catch that.", you say. "Could you repeat?"

"C-can I... h-hug you?" She turns red as a tomato. "I know, it's stupid..."

The other Ryuuko swallows audibly, and takes a step towards you. She slowly raises her arms, and gingerly wraps her arms around you. Every muscle in her body is tense. This isn't a relaxed hug. She's alert, insecure.

"...Am I doing it r-right?", she asks meekly.

"Not quite."

You return the embrace, drawing her in close. She flinches at first, but gradually relaxes, and rests her body against yours.

"Now you're doing it right.", you say.

Tears are rolling down her face again. "The only other person to ever hug me was Mako. Her hugs are more like wrestling moves, though." She chuckles quietly. "Thank you, Satsuki. You've shown me that avenging my father is not all that matters. I have things worth fighting and living for. ...Can we stay like this for a while?"

"Of course."

You furrow your brows. "No, Hououmaru. There will be no funeral, public, or otherwise. There is no body to bury, anyway."

"It's about public image, Lady Satsuki. Nobody will ever know how Lady Ragyou really died, of course, but the mere fact she's dead will cause investors to panic. Holding a public ceremony with you present would help alleviate those fears.", Hououmaru insists.

You'd like to believe your mother vanished into thin air, and forget she ever existed. It seems that's not possible, however. If you intend to inherit REVOCS, you will have to deal with the fallout from Ragyou's death. This woman doesn't deserve a funeral however. Are stocks and public image more important than your beliefs?

You walk up the stairs to the secret entrance, and head to the mansion's main hall. Just as you're about to start looking for them, Satsuki and the other you descend from the stairs to the upper floor. The other Ryuuko looks somewhat... content?

"You find something?", you ask.

Satsuki shakes her head. "Unfortunately, no. It appears that everything has been cleared out, or there was nothing in the first place."

"I see you and Mako are getting along.", the other you chuckles. What's with that change in mood?

"I know her back home, too. I don't usually have to lug her around, though. I think it's time for her to wake up, she's drooling on my shoulder."

"And mine.", Senketsu adds.

Before you can set Mako down, she wakes up.

"Oh! Ryuuko-chan, other Ryuuko-chan, and Lady Satsuki! I had a dream, where-"

You cover her mouth with your hand.

"Start a dream diary, or something. And write in invisible ink."

Having finished your investigation, the four of you head back to your vehicles. By the time you get back to Honnouji, it will be getting dark.

The other you freezes in her tracks. "No way.", she says under her breath.

She walks up to your bike, and gives it a good long look, circling it several times. "THIS is your ride?"

Satsuki sighs. "Unfortunately."

"It's sweet!"

You nudge Satsuki's arm. "See, not only I think so."

"Two of you think so. That doesn't make it any more valid."

"So..." You glance towards the scooter. It's not impressive, but it looks decent. "What happened that got her so gleeful?"

Satsuki smiles. "We talked about the other me, and about you. She envies you, Ryuuko."

"Huh?"

"By talking to me, she saw a side to Kiryuuin Satsuki she was previously unaware of. She said she wants to have a big sister, as well. That is why she hopes she can get along with the other me."

You raise your eyebrows, suspicious. "Just by talking? The way she walked, she was practically bouncing."

"Well... she asked for a hug, and I complied. She seemed to enjoy it."

You groan. "Oh, come on! You're my sister, not hers!"

Satsuki looks amused. "Are you jealous, Ryuuko?"

"You bet I am! It's like somebody's stealing you from me!"

"You're being awfully possessive." She's having way too much fun with this.

You pull her in for a tight clasp. "Better get used to it, nee-san. Nobody's stealing my sister from me. Especially not another me."

The two of you laugh. "That aside, I'm glad she's done moping around."

"Then, should we get going before it gets dark?", Satsuki asks.

With around a fifth of the distance to Honnouji left, you suddenly feel the scooter slow down on its own. What's going on?

You try to start the bike up again, to no avail. "It just won't work. Huh, wait..." You glance at the gas gauge. "Oh. The gas gauge's busted. It's the same as it was when we left."

"What now, then?", Satsuki asks. "Should we fly the rest of the distance?"

"We can't just abandon the scooter, and it would be pretty awkward to fly with it." You sigh. "Guess we're walking. It's not awfully far now."

Not even a minute after you start walking, a distinct-looking car passes you by. A familiar distinct-looking car.

"HEY!", you call out. The car stops, and approaches you on reverse.

As you thought, it's Gamagoori, in his flashy muscle car.

"What are you doing all the way out here? Did you break down?"

"In short, yeah.", you say. "And to the first question, right back at you. Satsuki left a note about what we're doing, right?"

"We saw it, yes. As for myself..." He looks to the side. "I needed some time to think about what happened." He turns back to you. "I was just heading back. Get in."

The car's ability to fit the scooter in its trunk is impressive. Overall, it's not really to your taste, though. It's too bulky. The slick designs of modern sport cars entice you more.

"I can understand why.", Satsuki cuts in. "But I'll let him explain."

"It's not that I don't respect this Lady Satsuki. She is not the one I swore my loyalty to, however. From what I gather, there is another Gamagoori Ira who has done that.", he answers.

"...Makes sense, I guess. Did anything happen while we were away?"

"I wouldn't know, as I've left before you."

"Oh."

The remainder of the ride passes by in relative silence. By your request, Gamagoori drops you off near Mako's house, along with the scooter. You notice your bike in a shack next to the house, acting as a garage.

"Crap, the lights are out. They're probably asleep. We'll have to go back for the key tomorrow.", you say, looking at the house's windows.

"Do we really need that bike anymore?", Satsuki asks. "We could just let her keep it. She seems to like it as much as you do."

"...Yeah, we probably won't be doing bike trips anytime soon. I'll just leave this here." You place the scooter next to the bike, and throw the key in the mailbox. "It was fun, though, wasn't it?"

"It was refreshing, even if we didn't find anything in father's house, in the end." Satsuki turns towards the academy, towering above the rest of the island. "We should probably find out if there's been any new developments."

That'll be it. For now.

Since I don't have to get up at an ungodly hour tomorrow (ungodly hour = before 10 AM) who knows, maybe I'll actually run the main quest, in case anybody remembers about that.

As far as you know, you only have Ragyou and Hououmaru left to beat. The COVERS don't seem to be attacking anymore. Maybe it's to do with the Original Life Fiber's destruction? There is also the issue of your father, but you're not sure if this is something you should concern yourself with right now. Beating Ragyou is top priority.

Two DTRs emerge from below the deck, riding up on a platform. They do look different than the old ones, and different from each other. Both appear more sleek in their design, although one seems to have heavier armor than the other, as well as bigger guns.

"Your father and Iori aren't the only scientists around here.", Aikurou says. "I've dealt with the trade, as well. While they were working on your uniforms, I took some time to refine the designs for our own weapons."

"And it never occurred to you to change how the pilot is positioned?", Nonon asks. "It's ridiculous."

"The word you're looking for is "innovative"."

"I'll have to agree with Jakuzure on this one.", Inumuta chimes in. "I don't see anything advantageous in this position, but I do see a lot of vulnerabilities."

"See, if even Dog agrees with me, it means it's really bad."

The three continue to argue about the DTRs. Kinagase joins the argument at some point. As you watch the scene with moderate interest, you suddenly hear a voice behind you.

"Ryuuko-chan! Satsuki-chan!" Nui runs up to you. "Are you going to fight... her now? I want to help!"

"They're going berserk! Keep your distance, everyone!", you shout.

"What?!" Tsumugu realizes exactly what this means. "Now?! Damn it!"

Harime observes the scene in terror, silently.

The others are confused, and anxious. "Berserk?"

The steam dissipates, revealing... not exactly what you were expecting. They should be deformed and monstrous, but they aren't. Their forms are ominous, but sleek, and humanoid.

"This is... different.", Tsumugu remarks.

Ragyou looks intrigued. "Oh? This is unexpected."

The two let out inhuman, guttural screams, and start slowly advancing towards Ragyou. Their steps crack the floor below them.

"I don't understand...", Inumuta says. "My scans show they're completely fine."

"Your scans are obviously wrong!", Jakuzure answers. "Something is wrong with them! What should we do?!"

"They're angry, very angry...", Harime mutters, biting her nails. "And very powerful. But, this is not good for them..."

Perhaps they don't expect you to be in command, but you should take initiative.
