I highly recommend everyone who is just joining us to read through the previous thread to get a better feel for whats going on.

When we last left off, we had returned from Basarat with our goods and slaves, freeing them and having them go to work in our mines and forges. Things are going well for our small city.

Several weeks go by and business is booming, with several merchant caravans from Basarat visiting us for trade purposes. We make a healthy income from our surplus food and crafted items as our people continue to grow our industries and restore our city.

Unfortunately this morning our patrols spotted a large group of riders in the distance. They haven't approached yet but look like centaurs.

What do?
>>
>>33471356
any narrow street or alleyways (with tall windowed buildings) leading up to our settlements that we can use as killzones?
>>
>>33471402
Our city is walled off with strong tall walls and strong gates, inside are many narrow streets and alleys, which would make house to house fighting a nightmare. However are farms and our mine are outside the walls.
>>
>>33471356
Sound the trumpets, gather all the civilians, give them all spears, even if they're untrained. Humans are the meat and the bait. Meet them in an urban setting as that's where we'll get an advantage against any hit and run ranged tactics.

Our archers should get the high ground inside buildings, and we should plan a kill zone using the humans as bait and then cage them from the rear.

OP I would love if next time you could make a world map of revealed areas. Our city, mine, farms, Basarat coastal city, our desert homeland, and the centaur camps.
>>
>>33471787
will do
>>
>>33471599
You pull back everyone into the interior of the city, arming all the adults with whatever is on hand, mostly leftover spears but some of the adults are forced to fight with tools. We open the gates and a single rider approaches. A proud looking centaur with crude iron armor and a fur coat comes forward stating that he is Jagutai, son of the Great Khan, come to demand tribute to the Black Horde. He demands 1/5 of our people as slaves, several bushels of grain and and 200 gold pieces as tribute in exchange for the hordes "protection" of the city
>>

What do?
>>
>>33471872

>>
>>33471872

>>
>>33471884
I'd like to out right attack them.. but
I don't know our numbers our thiers..
Can you give us an update on our invenory and able bodied population?
>>
>>33471872
Try to use the scepter to divulge numbers out of him and sense if he's lying or not. He's good for some intel.

After that, a single arrow to the center of the neck would do fine. Put the khan son's head on the wall.

No wait, hit him in the chest in several places to pacify him, then give him a good Drow slashing in a thousand places and skin him in some parts. Disfigure him as much as possible.

Then send him back to his people for a moral blow..

Give our human caste a nice speech on their centaur enemies and slavers to get them fired up as well.

You invite Jagutai and his honor guard into the city for a great feast at the old governors mansion. When everyone sits down for dinner you scan Jagutai and his guards with the sceptre, determining that the Khan wants to expand his influence in this region and that Jagutai was sent out here with his warband of 50 warriors.

You sense a great level of overconfidence in Jagutai and his warriors as they believe they have already won.

We have Jericho and 10 men standing outside the mansion ready to rush in? Should we kill them at dinner or let them leave?
>>
>>33471946
nty.
I'd rather question him over a longer period of time.
or use him as a bargaining piece for some thing

>>33472071
Kill them, mount the heads, ready for war on these cock sucking bastards
>>
>>33472071
Kill the honor guard, slash and disfigure Jagutai as much as possible and send him back to his warband. Hopefully he'll survive the walk back before collapsing.
>>
>>33472097
do this, do we have any slow acting poison?
>>
>>33472107
This but instead of just disfiguring him, brand something on his collar bone, something that looks like chains or someshit
>>
>>33472097
I don't think there's a point in bartering with centaur bandits with delusions of grandeur. They're marauders and slavers. If we have the khan's son and make demands, he'll just charge in all the same. He probably has a few sons anyway. I think we gain more from making him a vassal of demoralization.
>>
>>33472071
Kill his guards. Take him prisoner and interrogate him.
>>33472148
When we have an empires prince. They might be up for bargaining.
BUT even if they are not. It gives us some kind of leverage.
In we can interogate him for the empires military force/ tactics/ when they are likely to try and scout us if he doesn't show up. plenty of things we can't ask when he is dead.

You take Jagutai down to the basement and let a few of our people go to work on him for the night, with the humans and drow both getting a turn making sure he stays alive.

Using a combination of the scepter and torture we find several important pieces of knowledge

The horde numbers around 2000, with around 500 warriors, they are currently moving to the southern steppe, over a 100 miles away from us to camp for winter.

Jagutai is one of 7 sons of the great khan, Vukar Khan, also known as the ravager of the east.

The Khan is planning a campaign come spring moving west and sacking Basarat along with any other western settlements, us included.

By morning our interrogators feel satisfied with the information they have gotten and release Jagutai, who is now missing half his flesh and several fingers back to his warband. While he walks out the gate, we have Jericho climb to the top of the battlements with the 4 guards heads, a hammer and 4 spikes as he attaches the heads to the wall above the gate.
>>
>>33472739
The warband is seen riding to their leader, with several of their men turning around and firing on the city as the warband flees southeast, presumably to meet up with the rest of the horde.

Whats our next move?

>>33472739
bring this info to Basarat immediately, we can;t fight off the centaurs as we are

>>33472784
also necromancers
>>
>>33472772
Go to Basarat, speak to their leaders with the knowledge we have. Try to work out an alliance and coordinate a plan.

Alternatively, listen to rumors and talk to merchants there to find any knowledge of undead and/or a necromancer tower. Rape his minions, loot his precious library of books, and take him alive if possible.

Then maybe we can spread a plague or two in Basarat and use every man and woman as a soldier.

This goes beyond the centaurs and I proposed this hunt in the last thread.

There's about 60 drow, and quite a bit of working class lesser races around us. We don't really breed often and even if we were to fastforward a thousand years we'd end up with either a few hundreds of inbred fucks, get overwhelmed by demographics of humans, or... breed with them to create semi abominations.

Hunting for a necromancer (and his art does fit our people and their morals) is not just for the sake of the centaurs, but the humans as well. Basarat is a port trade city and if there's any Necromancer/undead in the area someone there would know.

You lead a party to Basarat with several objectives
Talk to the cities leadership about the centaur threat
Find Jerichos wife
Find a necromancer

A) Visit the governor
B) Go the slave pens
C) Go to the tavern
D) Talk to the guilds

newmarks sunday
>>
>>33472912
calm down, whats with this obsession with rape, pillaging and plagues? we need strong allies for now and antognizing a powerful necromancer could quickly go south for us.
>>
>>33473010
visit the governor with our info, then the tavern looking rumors of a necromancer and Jericho's wife
>>
>>33473040
It's a beautiful and unappreciated art which we could also need. Yes, antagonizing a necromancer is a big threat, and we should indeed use allies as means to an end. But we also have to face reality. Our numbers are very low, to the point where we welcomed humans as a working caste to live with us. They could be a demographic threat in the future.

Necromancy helps us remove the numbers disadvantage. It's just a calm discussion over mead, as we plan our future and strategy, brother.
>>
>>33473078
This.
>>
>>33473167
>>33473078
We first go to the governors office and explain to him what we know and request military assistance against the centaurs, he laughs us out of his office, saying that Basarat is on good terms with Khan and that he would never betray the city after giving him such a large tribute this year.

We then travel to the tavern, buying patrons drinks and trying to find any rumors of necromancers in the area. We find out about a mage in town who practices the dark arts and is willing to perform magic for a fee, we also find out about a witch in one of the outlying countryside villages around Basarat. We also inquire about where we could find a specific slave and are directed to go to the slave pens in the merchant district.

We have the 4 centaur heads with us, should we visit the textile guild and cash in our heads for the bounty?

Also whats our next move?
>>
>>33473269
Cash in on the heads then visit the mage.
>>
>>33473269
cash in the centaur heads, acquaint ourselves with any mercenaries present at the guild as well.

then visit the slave pens to inquire about Jericho's wife

so what do you guys think do we go for the dark mage or the witch?
>>
>>33473010
When you get the chance. Can you give us an update on our inventory?
Available warriors
Current population/tech/money we hold.

When we visit the slave pens look for more warriors and the such.
Repeat what we did before only buy once we know they'd be loyal.
I am figuring we could buy a whole lot more. And at a bargain if we buy plenty.
* also look into our weapons and armor.

Guys we are elves. we have no bowmen..wat
>>
>>33473336
Well, if we take their professions at face value I think the mage would offer some necromancy and rune traps while the witch would teach some elemental spells and curses.

We go to the market district first, visiting the textile guild house and cashing in on the bounty, receiving 20 gold adding to the purse of 75 gold we brought with us.

We explain to the guild master what happened and they believe us about the centaur attack. They say that attacks on caravans have dramatically increased in the region. They offer the guilds support to the war effort and say they will be contacting other guilds and raising money. They say that come spring they will hire some mercenary companies and join us in the battle against the centaurs. You recommend they hire Jarvan's Firewalkers mercenary company, as you met him in the taverns last time you were here.

You then go to the slave pens and inquire to them about Sara, an orc female slave and to put out feelers for the slave, offering 20 gold for her. You then go to the main selling area. To you surprise you see a group of drow being shoved onto the selling platform and being sold for only 5 gold on account of their defiance against slavers and potential buyers. You also see a group of humans for sale also on the cheap, the slavers say they are heretics and criminals from the western empire, rumors in the crowd say that one of them is a mage and well known political dissident.

Finally you see a group of high elves, who even in chains wearing merely rags have a regal and proud look to them. The slavers are selling them for 20, double the normal price because of the rarity of high elf slaves.

What do you guys want to do? We have 95 gold with us

>>33473730

>mage and well known political dissident.
Focus on this group to make sure we don't get any trouble.
Any addition to our troops is great. But not if they will cause trouble. Inform them they will be set free but expected to work for the better of the community.
fucking high elves.. seems like we've got our mage corps lol.
>>
>>33473730
Buy the orc's wife and the drow.

We should save some gold for the mage, and use the remaining gold to buy the spare slaves.
>>
>>33473861
>>33473803
Just to be clear Jerichos wife isnt here, we just asked slavers to look for her and offered a high payment for her purchase if they do
>>
>>33473861
20 for high elves + 5 for drows = 25
cheap humans can't be more than 10 even if theres a shit ton of them.
= 35
we've plenty left over friend.
But this is ofcours on the condition that we vet them and take them all.
no problem paying the full fee and leave a few behind that aren't likely to blend in with our community.
From here move to buy wood?
>>
>>33473918
Sounds good.
>>
>>33473918
lets focus on finding the necromancer to teach us some dark arts, magic could help level the battlefield more than bows, especiallly considering our small numbers
>>
>>33474027
I think we'll have enough gold, but I agree we should pay a visit to the necromancer before looking for wood.

>>33473803
We take each group aside to check them out. We first take the human group aside and find that most are petty criminals with a few political dissidents and heretics. Through reading their minds and talking to them, we find that mages are both feared and outlawed in the western empire. Within the group we count 3 mages, one very powerful one and 2 weak mages, they seem pliable enough and you believe that they will make a strong addition so long as they are respected and given freedom.

You move to the drow, who are surprised to see their own kind in a mostly human city. They claim that they were captured in a skirmish against the centaur horde several months ago and sold into slavery here. They are a dozen in number and are extremely glad to have freedom and to live against their own people again.

Finally we get to the high elves, who immediately regard us with distrust, with several racial slurs and insults appearing in their minds. You find out that they were shipwrecked off the coast of the empire and sold into slavery. You explain to them the realities of what will happen to them if they are sold to an average buyer, with the men likely being forced into hard labor and the women taken to work in brothels. You offer them an alternative to join our society and like amongst us along with several other races. Despite some trepidation, your argument seems to convince most of them that joining forces with us is better than the alternative.

You end spending 35 gold on the slaves and sending them home with several guards while you Jericho and a another guard go to the market district and buy several bows made in east that seem to be of high quality giving us 10 more strong bows, we now have 15 total. This costs us another 10 gold pieces, putting us at 50. We then move to the store front of the mages building and enter...
>>
>>33474143
good, good
>>
>>33474143
You see the mage summoning a creature in a pillar of smoke and flame in front of a small group of spectators. He yells an incantation as the smoke clears revealing a grotesque looking creature that the mage says is from the beyond. You use the scepter and sense that this is not a creature from the beyond but a local man with a medical condition causing massive contusions and deformities all over his body. You also sense the minds of 2 men working a smoke machine and pyrotechnic machine under the floor. You see along the walls that there are several dark "elixirs" as well as supposedly ancient tomes. You sense in this "mage's" mind that he believes he has this crowd and he offers them to examine his wares after his demonstration.

The con artist explains that this book was his inspiration even though he could never figure out how to cast any of the spells inside. You open it to reveal many forbidden magic spells, including necromancy and illusion, among other things. The people that wrote it apparently made it look like a boring tome marked, Imperial taxation Volume IX. You Jericho and the guard all spend a few days training and learning the arts of restoration from the witch. You also do your best to write down what youre learning on several sheets of velium to try to preserve the knowledge and teach it to others when you get back. While there you also buy several vials of poison and some herbs that can help deal with any plagues, disease or infections that people have.

After finishing 4 days of training you pack the horses with the vials, herbs, the tome and the bows you bought and head home, feeling confident of your new ability.

When you arrive home you find the slaves have been freed and working in various areas. You ask to speak directly to Coren, the name of the human mage and anyone else that might have magic potential in our town. At the end you gather 4 humans, 6 drow(including yourself) and 2 high elves to train as mages under Coren, learning the basics of magic.

As the snow starts to melt and spring arrives you get a message from the Trade guilds of Basarat that they have hired several mercenary companies and will have 300 men meet us at our city for the campaign come weeks end.

We're drow. We can train a group of 10 drow as special ops. To get in and out with out enemy's knowing.
A diversified group of bowmen/mages/ melee specialist. Of course if these is someone that isn't a drow but is exceptional we don't leave him out. But the top 10 of our fighting forces.
And drill them to work together and specialized tactics
I'm sure our troops are pretty boss having Jericho and versa as their trainers. But our special ops should make Rangers look like kids with rocks

sorry guys I am going to busy for at least an hour, something came up but I should be able to run the thread until 1 or 2 am eastern time so thats the good news. Please think of a strategy for the campaign and maybe some general ideas for the development of the civ while im gone

cool, godspeed man

You know there is another week until the reinforcements arrive so you take 10 of our best troops and give them special training, especially in stealth tactics and night attacks. These warriors will serve as our main reconaissance group as well as our main ambush and night attack group
>>
>>33478411
The week passes and you are pleased with the specialists training. You go to meet the leaders of the army sent to aid us. The force has three leaders leading three groups. The first group is 100 men led by Captain Jarvan, the Firewalker mercenary company who are known for their lancers and battlemages. The second is the Iron Legion, lead by Captian Lucius made up of retired veteran legionaires from the western empire. Finally the third group are volunteer militia from the city itself led by Lord Caladan
the volunteers are well equipped but lack experience and training. They mostly have crossbowmen and pikemen.
>>
>>33478491
We bought poison from that witch didn't we? I wonder if we can scout their fresh water supplies. If it's a river then we can't really do much I guess, but if they're using wells or maybe even a lake.

It's still like 2,000 centaurs against 300
>>
>>33478566
wrong it's 500 vs 330.
>>
>>33478601
Right
>>
>>33478566
You gather the forces and start marching south to catch the centaurs while they are still in their winter camp. After travelling a few days Veras and the 10 rangers separate and move ahead of the main group on horseback to scout the enemy camp.

2 days later the strike team finds the enemy camp. It is massive with tents forming what looks like a large town in the distance. At night the team moves forward looking for an enemy water source. They find a small river running through the enemy camp, which they use for bathrooms, cooking, cleaning and drinking water. You have the troops sneak few miles upriver from the camp and dump several of the poison vials in.

They then ride back to join the main force to report what theyve seen.
>>
>>33478846
They join up with the main force and move quick to strike the centaur camp, in order to capitalize on the confusion and moral hit of being poisoned. As you get within sight of their camp again, you see smoke and can smell the stench of burning bodies. As you get closer you can see piles of dead being burned and an enemy force gathering ahead of us.

What do?
>>
>>33478914
Scout ahead to see whats going on exactly.
they were there for a reason possibly other forces are attacking them. and we can just help the other side by not letting the enemy retreat.
>>
>>33478979
you split off a group to go scouting while the rest of our army digs in, they see mountains of corpses that the centaurs seem to be burning, also their seems to be a large group of civilians fleeing west while their warriors seem to have moved east to face our troops. We estimate their force to around 250-300
>>
>>33479145
Could be wrong, but we now have the numbers advantage.
Our drow empires should be the least harmed.
Send all of our forces to attack them. position our own empires men in strategic places as support.
They are weakens with poison, a loss of moral, and a new enemy.
Kill all the enemies and take as many prisoners.
>>
>>33479288
The army moves forward and assaults the centaurs who seem more sluggish than normal. The firewalkers have their company pyromancers form a wall of flame preventing the centaur army from escaping as the army closes in on them. In the ensuing melee, the legionaires and lancers make mincemeat out of the centaurs slaughtering them with relatively light casualties.

After finishing the last of the hordes warriors the army chases after the column of civilians trying to flee from the battle

What do?
>>
>>33479721
Chase, demand their submission. Loot their valuables and get our share of slaves that we can incorporate.
>>
>>33479854
You have the army surround the column of fleeing civilians and demand their surrender, they refuse but after killing half of them they finally submit. The mercenaries demand loot and slaves as part of their payment and take the majority of it leaving us with about 30 centaur slaves and 100 gold pieces worth of loot which we check for valuables, after finding nothing but jewelry and baubles we sell it to some of the merchants take our money and slaves and go home.

What now?
>>
>>33480164
see if there is anybody of talent among the centaur slaves we captured, set the rest to work farming
>>
>>33480164
All centaurs are to work the mines and farms.
We need to make way to expand our colony.
Make the farms bigger/ having the centuars as horses. plowing the fields and such.
more ore's
Considering all that we've done for the city we should be on great terms. especially with the merchants. we need to do something about making more money.
Go to town. we should be buying up more slaves and setting them free. We need to start growing and expanding. :)
>>
>>33480164
They're going to be spiteful and probably fight with the humans who were tormented by then. I think we should sell them and use the money to free other slaves.

What spells did we learn exactly from the tome by the way?
>>
>>33480410
We got kind of the general book of magics with some basic necromancy undead resurrection spells, some basic illusionary spells, some counter magic spells, a variety of basic elemental magics as well.
>>
>>33480410
>>33480356
>>33480301
Would you guys rather keep the centaurs or sell them and try to get other slaves instead?
>>
>>33480537
Sell the enemy and buy more friends
>>
>>33480537
If I'm not mistaken so far we didn't employ slaves per say, so I'm not interested in starting now. But there will also be tensions between the humans and the centaur due to their history. I'm in favor of selling.

I'm also proposing drow with affinity to magic to research and experiment with the necromatic spells.
>>
>>33480537
ok sell em, but use the rod to scan them first to make sure we're not throwing away anybody important,

also do we have any confirmation on what happened to Valkur Khan and his sons? Captured, killed, or escaped?
>>
>>33480632
The great khan was found dead after the battle surrounded by his blood riders and 2 of his sons there are still 2 sons of the Khan unaccounted for
>>
>>33480592
This.
I'd rather not have slaves.
slaves is what might cause an uprising.
>>
>>33480668
>>33480632
>>33480626
>>33480592
The slaves are mostly elderly, women and children, you scan them with the rod and find nothing but a few old warriors too old to fight, some mothers and their children. You can feel a sense of rage and desire for vengeance in all of them, as they are a proud people brought low. You decide to take them to the slave markets for sale in a few weeks when we go back to Basarat.
>>
>>33480665
that being said, guys we never attacked thier city. we destroyed their warriors. and have basically freed the region from their grasp. but we can always send in our elite to go into their city scout/kill leaders. and take some treasures.
If we can, do this a few times. then hire the mercs to do what they do best and collest the spoils of war. and sell the lot of centuars to the city.
>>
>>33480735
Are you sure? I thought that was it with the "horde", since centaur are generally nomads as well.
>>
>>33480735
pretty much this, wouldnt go as far as salting the earth, but lets nip a revenge hoard in the bud......unless some centaur slave manages to pull a Counte de Monte Cristo on us

dispatch our dark rangers to find the surviving sons?
>>
>>33480785
might be wrong. considering they were burning "mountains of bodies"
and the poison.
But i doubt we took on the whole 2500.
we just assaulted the warriors winter camp.
and destroyed the military force. along with what seems to be more than half the royal family.
>>
>>33480861
Our troops counted the centaurs in the camp after the battle and believe there may be another 500-1000 still out there, the count on the corpses and prisoners was only around 1500 plus 2 of the khans sons are still missing, it is also not believed that they have a city as they are nomads
>>
>>33480517
Also I forgot blood magic too

I don't suppose we could lure the mercenaries back into doing our dirty work again with more promises of loot and slaves. I'm not even concerned about the profit from the slaves I just want this particular loose end tied up
>>
>>33481267
Well we might be able to get the mercs back on board but the problem is that we dont where the other centaurs are. The steppe is vast and the horde moves quickly. It could potentially be difficult to find/catch them
>>
>>33480517
>>33481237
counter spells and dispelling to protect us from magic attacks and to clean up any magic fuckups on our part?
>>
- Sell the centaurs, buy and free more cooperative slaves.
- Check for rumors while in the city.
- Research schools of magic in the tome, preferably necromancy.
- I think we should leave the remnants of the horde.
>>
>>33481389
Counter spells and dispelling are good for protecting for those things and dealing with magically summoned creatures especially
>>
>>33481447
this, but see if anybody in the city regularly did business with the centaurs, We'll leave them alone for now, but I'd still like to be able to keep tabs on them
>>
>>33481611
>>33481447
>>33480712
A few weeks pass and there are great celebrations in town of the victory, with many children concieved. We take the centaur slaves and move to Basarat. After a week we arrive selling the slaves for 10 gold first thing. Available for sale are a group of orcish barbarians from the west, a group of human slaves from the western empire, and a group of dwarven slaves captured in skirmishes in the northlands.

They are each going for 10 gold, we have 110 gold pieces with us right now.

What do?
>>
>>33481718
Rod read them, chum it it up with the slavers see if they heard any interesting rumors of late
>>
>>33481782
This
>>
>>33481782
Sounds good. While we're here look into Jerichos Wife again.
Use scepter this time when asking questions.
>>
>>33481782
Thirded
>>
>>33481782
>>33481803
>>33481869

You scan the slaves and they seem like they would be pliable to joining our cause, you proceed to purchase them and ask the slavers about possibly increasing their shipments to the city, telling them you have coin and are prepared to buy, especially in bulk. You then inquire about Jerichos wife, rod in hand. The slavers play hard to get but you scan them and find that they have his wife and a half human/orc bastard child but now they want to know why we want this women so bad. You can read in their heads that they want to increase the price up to a ridicilous level.

What do?
>>
>>33471055
Put quest in the fucking subject. How hard is it for you people to do this?
>>
>>33481955
>half human/orc child
oh god jericho, she done fucked another dude
Tell them that your reasons are yours and yours alone
>>
>>33481955
fuck that, we have to have some influence with war effort and all.
Most of all just use the scepter to manipulate the lowest price. barting with him should be a joke
>>
>>33481955
let Jericho make his point, I'm sure he can be persuasive if he wants to be
>>
>>33482064
>>33482050
>>33481991
You tell the slavers that the price is 20, and if they want to negotiate they can talk to Jericho, who cracks his knuckles and takes a step closer to the slavers. The slavers decide that its not worth dying for a few gold pieces and bring out Sara and the child. Jericho embraces his her but looks confused at the child, she tells him that they will speak later of this.

With Jericho reunited with his wife and new slaves purchased what do you guys want to do in the city?

A) Visit the tavern
B) Visit the guilds for possible trade deals and jobs
C) Leave
D) Other
>>
>>33482214
A. Check any interesting rumors.
>>
>>33482214
>B) Visit the guilds for possible trade deals and jobs

how are our iron/steel works going btw?
>>
>>33482214
>they will speak of it later
bitch
>>
>>33482291
eh, to be fair its not the sort of thing you'd want to talk about in front of an audience.
>>
>>33482336
I have a feeling later means never, because he is gonna kill her for being a whore
>>
>>33482386
that's there issue to resolve. we have a town to rule
>>
>>33482214
>B) Visit the guilds for possible trade deals and jobs
>>33482291
>>33482386
theres only so much you can do as a slave. Being raped against her will and so on.
the child could also have been born out of love for another man, which lets be realistic. You're sold off as a slave, years ago. find love we're talking atleast 3 years after the last time you saw your husband.. fuck
theses hes got to understand.
But if her kills her w.e his business, but he may lose some of himself in it. which will effect our troops combat readiness.
>>
>>33482256
>>33482250
You first head down to the tavern and grab a few drinks meeting up with Jarvan, captain of the firewalker mercenary company. He is clearly very drunk and accompanied by several whores. As he sees you he gets up and hugs you calling you buddy and asks you to drink with him. You shoot the shit for a few hours and find out that hes been drinking and whoring since he returned from campaign and that the company got a lucrative contract protecting a gnomish city state in the far east. He compliments our troops performance in the field and says that we could make a formidable mercenary company ourselves if we wanted to.

You meet with several other people there, mostly mercenaries and merchants from out of town and make some valuable contacts for the future. Finishing your beer and walking out of the tavern you go to visit the guild houses. You talk to the guilds and they offer us gold to escort their caravans on the roads going near our territories to the eastern city states, paying 50 gold for every caravan. Each job will require 6 troops adding more depending on the circumstances. They also have interests in our steel items which our of high quality matching that made by the dwarves in the city, the guilds suggest that we could sell to the guilds, still make a profit and undercut the local steelforges prices big time, putting the local dwarves out of week and opening them up to working for us.

What do you guys think of these ideas?
>>
>>33482511
Sound good.
Look into buying possible tech
>>
>>33482511
Selling steel tools & weapons and killing the competition sounds good. Maybe even protect a few caravans for the payment benefit of visiting other cities. I'm not in favor of merc work with Jarvan though.
>>
>>33482511
>they offer us gold to escort their caravans on the roads going near our territories to the eastern city states, paying 50 gold for every caravan. Each job will require 6 troops adding more depending on the circumstances

this could be a good opportunity to season our standing army.

lets hold off on the offer and see if the dwarves can come up with a better offer or technology/forging technique to bribe us away from this particular market
>>
>>33482511
up for taking all offers.
great way for our people to make a name for them selves.
Practicing our skills. making money.
visiting other towns. possible to make another trade route, making more weapons.
And once we get to the gnome city we will be buying shit tons of tech.
>>
>>33482671
>>33482668
>>33482611
So do you want to take the caravan guard job
A) Yes
B) No

Do you want to get into this steel deal?
A) Yes
B) No
>>
>>33482785
A and a
>>
>>33482785
yes. to both
>>
>>33482785
A and A it is then
>>
>>33482850
>>33482822
>>33482820
You set up the deals and agree to send 6 of our warriors up every month to guard a caravan, we will also be sending our shipment of steel products with them, profits from these arrangements should net us 150 gold a month, a hefty sum.

Alright guys I know I said I would go till 1 or 2 but I dont think I have anymore left in me.

Its been fun, thanks for playing
>>
>>33482878
You guys want me to continue this tomorrow?
>>
>>33482896
that'd be great if your still up for it
>>
>>33482896
I'm up for it if you are.
>>
>>33482896
yes
>>
>>33482878
I am up for it.

If you're being generous- And me being greedy really. Could we get stats every so often?
possible surplus of goods, and how much we make per turn.
I know it's been really loose on the time frame per turn. But that just me being greedy and hoping for the best.
