In a World of Darkness and Light, Monsters and Men, Dragons and Griffins, Witches and Mages, Heroes and Legends, Kingdoms and Empire's, there is much strife and war. Peace in all four corners of the world is a very rare thing of beauty. Kings and Emperors are fighting for power and land on both battlefields and at court. However, you're not part of this struggle for power, not yet. For reasons unknown you don't remember your life as a human nor the torture you went through to become what you are today; A twisted being of dark magic, your body has been mutilated and corrupted beyond its limits. However, like many dark beings before you, you've been chained by the power that rules behind the scenes of politics and war in this world; The Holy Church.

Created by darkness and leashed by the light, you're a monster under the Church's will. You are an Inquisitor, the last of its kind. Once a man, twisted by magic, you now serve the Church as a hunter or a judge against monsters, witches, renegade mages and all the evil that oppose the holy order.

Upon leaving the tavern, you repeat the directions given to you by the scout in your mind. Make your way to the Northern Watch tower and then four houses to your left is where the scouts home is. It will have a sign over the entrance saying 'Fourteen'. Looking about, you try to find all the watch towers from where you stand, but before you can find anyone but the one at the gate you came through, there's a hand on your back.

“I understand you're excited to get out from the church, but you could have waited for us.”, the familiar voice comes from behind and you recognize it as soon as you heard it; Benjamin. He has his characteristic smile painted across his features and fire burning in his eyes. He is more excited than you, that's for sure. Further behind the both of you, Commander Autumn comes walking with her Templar party in tow. The wounded man has been healed, with Light magic no doubt. Templars are not known for their magic, but they're still taught a fair bit of it when they're in training.

“What were you doing in the Tavern?”, the commander asks you, but Benjamin quickly butts in, either out of excitement or to save your ass, “We're heading to the Town Hall to speak with the mayor and the captain of the guard! Our orders are to acquire the information to pinpoint the Ork bands camps and wipe them out!”. The commander merely shakes her head and continues down the street with her men.

“Are you coming?”, Benjamin calls out to you when he starts walking after the commander.

>A. Shake your head and leave to find the tower and the scouts home. You need to resume the hunt immediately.
>B. Nod in silence and follow him and the commander to the Town Hall. Could ask the mayor and the captain about Austec and what he was doing here in Oaksberry.
>C. “I can't come.”, you explain and you also finally inform Benjamin of your real mission here before leaving.

"I have different orders from the high priest. Can't speak of them, but I need to be somewhere else.", you explain before you start to leave. All you hear is a "What?", coming from Benjamin before he starts calling out to you.

You're not about to let Austec get too much of a heads start. You leave Benjamin behind and start making your way into the city to find the tower. He continues to call out to you, but you ignore him until you no longer hear him shout for you.

With steady steps, you continue to walk and soon enough you find yourself at the small wall that's supposed to be protecting the town. It's not very high and anyone remotely good at climbing could climb it easily. You decide to follow it to find the watch tower you're after.

After ten minutes of walking you catch the sight of the northern watch tower along the wall ahead. It's next to the second gate. Placing yourself before the watch tower, you look to your left and count up to four houses. The number 'fourteen' draws your attention. You've found the scouts home!
>>
>>33468867

After making your way inside, you're greeted by a very ordinary home, albeit a bit too spartan for a towndweller. Lot's of space, but not a lot of chairs, tables etc. The Hearth across the room has not been lit for a very long time. Fortunately there's no need to search for the spot where Austec used rune magic; You can feel a faint trail of it from upstairs.

The trip up the stairs are a short one and the room where you can feel the magic trail coming from is close by. The room itself turns out to be the scouts bedroom. A small man-sized bed along with a drawer in the corner and a small table by the bed.

The runes are obviously gone, but you can still feel small pieces of magic rising from the spot where Austec used it to teleport.

Kneeling down, you trace your fingers along the patterns of magic that formed in the runes that has been washed away. Instead of using the same rune magic to try and pinpoint where the spell brought its user, you decide to use blood magic instead.

That sort of magic is highly forbidden in the Holy Order, but it has been proven to be just as strong, if not stronger sometimes, as Light magic. Besides, you're just a dog of the Order, not sworn to any oaths or vows regarding anything else but to never attack a holy member.

You pull off your trusted stiletto from your waist belt and without hesistation, you cut yourself in your left hand. Black blood runs out, dripping slowly onto the floor. With your right hand, you dip your fingers in your wound and start to paint the same runes Austec used on the floor. However, by the end of it you add a single rune to see where the spell took him.

You rise up and back off a few steps from your work. It's not the best runes you've ever seen, but they'll do. The words come to you naturally as you mutter them under your breath. The blood starts to glow.

From the runes, a red bubble seeps out and floats up into the air. In it you can see a small cave filled with glowing giant mushrooms and an opening at the end of it. A dark figure wrapped in a black cloak walks past your vision and leaves the cave. The figure is greeted by two green, hulking creatures that you quickly recognize; Orks! They lead him away.

Hey OP, last thread the lying scout was spared even a single broken bone after lying to our face. What's the official stance of the Church in these cases? Leave the sinner unmolested or off him on the spot?
>>
>>33469496
If he had just teleported yes, but you only saw a past vision of where he teleported to and a small piece of what he did after that.

Had you used only rune magic, you would have only seen the cave, nothing else.

After this little piece of information, you decide to search the house for anything belonging to Austec that he might have left behind in his desperation to quickly depart or any clues to why a former Holy man was now dealing with Orks.

With little regard to the scouts house, you start to tear down inside his home, searching everywhere for anything that could help you make sense of Austec's motives. You find nothing upstairs and continue your crusade for clues downstairs.

The small kitchen reveals nothing and searching the empty dinning room proved to be in vain. The last room was the living room, where the Hearth was located. The bookshelf felt like the obvious place to hide something, but after tearing it down and a thorough search of all the books, you come up short.

You're just about to decide your next course of action when something draws you in; The Hearth. While it hasn't been lit for a very long time, you notice something light brown amidst the black wooden logs. Reaching in, you pull out the half-black parchment.

"After discovering the origin of Dark beings and fled the Imperial City in turn, I've taken refuge in my cousins home in Oaksberry. However, it's just a matter of time before they'll find me; The Holy Order have eyes everywhere! I'm starting to wish I had brought my knowledge to--", and the rest of the parchment is too destroyed to read.

Whether or not your time has been wasted here, you've finally decided to drop the investigation and continue the hunt. Moving up the stairs, you start to make the same runes Austec made with your cray, leaving out your own last rune this time.

You mutter the necessary phrase and the runes start to glow. This time there's no bubble, just glowing runes. You take two steps forward and after a flash, you find yourself enveloped by darkness. However, your surroundings are quickly illuminated by the ever glowing large mushrooms growing on the cave floor and walls around you. You've arrived to the same spot Austec teleported to a couple of hours to maybe a day or so ago!

Walking out from the cave, you're met with a flock of birds taking off from the nearby mountain side. Down below you there's a lush and thick forest and to your left is a narrow mountain pass leading down close to the wall. From here you can also spot Oaksberry nearby and further away you also see the familiar church up by the hill. You're in the same forest the Ork bands that ambushed you came from!

The sound of the portal closing behind you is the sign for you to start moving. Had anyone followed you or tried to pull you back somehow, you needed to be ready.

The passage is narrow, but as long as you don't put down your foot where it doesn't belong, you could easily make your way down safely. Austec and the two Orks must have taken the same path as you, walking in a single file. The journey down is uneventful and you soon find yourself in the middle of the forest, the mountain side at your back.
>>
>>33470693
You're a hunter, but you don't often hunt anything but monsters or humans with a magical aura like mages or witches. Austec doesn't carry a magical aura and he's a human. Had he travelled alone through the forest, the hunt would have been quite difficult for you, but luck would have it that he had two Orks escorting him somewhere. Orks were heavy, even without their boiled leathers and weapons at hand; They always left a trail whenever they walked on soft ground.

With increased speed, you easily follow the trail of large footsteps from the two Orks. After a short while, the hunt brings you close to an open valley filled with tents made out of animal skins and even human skins. There are sticks in the ground with skulls attached to them and the camp is alive with a large number of hulking Orks, both the equipped and unequipped kind. You even spot females and children amidst the tents. At the center of the camp, you spot a small throne made out of bones, stones and wood and supported by three boulders all around it. On it there's a black Ork. Orks were generally always green or brown, but after using dark magic long enough, their skin turns black. A Warlock no doubt.

You don't spot Austec anywhere.

>A. Remain hidden for a while more and move around the camp in its outskirts, trying to find Austec.
>B. Reveal yourself, but don't draw your weapon. Call out for the possible Warlock.
>C. Charge forward, weapon drawn and start the bloodbath.

>>A. Remain hidden for a while more and move around the camp in its outskirts, trying to find Austec.
It's probably best to wait until nightfall to move in the camp. The orks should move to attack the village then, leaving the camp more or less undefended and giving us a chance to grab the target.
>>
>>33470717
>A
Sealth option is a go!
>>
>>33470717
See if you can bait some out to kill silently. Make noises, animal noises? Maybe Orcs have a preferred wild game they hunt? Not something that would cause all of them to nut up and run out

Stealth would serve you best at this point. If you charge in and start killing or even just reveal yourself to buy you time, Austec would be aware of you and flee on the spot. That is, if he's even here anymore. You're still not certain how much time has passed between the point where he made his portal and you followed him.

Using the trees and thick bushes to your advantage, you move in silence and out of sight around the outskirts of the camp. You start to notice that there are different kinds of Ork bands gathered in this camp; There are Bloodlust Orks dressed in boiled leather covered in dried blood; There are Steel Orks, the ones who always carry castle forged steel and shields along with mail equipment; and there's the Savage Orks, the most dangerous of all Orks if you don't count the ones that wield magic. The Savage Orks are the berserkers of their race. They rarely speak in anything but grunts and they charge into battle barechested with no shields or protection, only two weapons or large two-handed weapons in hand. They are quick and agile and they would kill their own brothers to get to their enemy without a second thought.

The Warlock Ork must have gathered these Ork Bands here for a reason. The question is not how since dominance and strength is what the 'Ork culture' is all about, but why? Invading Oaksberry? What were they doing by the Riverside? Scouting out the Town? The answers to these questions wouldn't help you with your hunt on Austec, but it would satisfy your curiousity.
>>
>>33471071

Your prey is nowhere to be seen and just as you decide that it would be better to wait till nightfall to sneak in and interrogate the Warlock, you hear a scream from nearby.

"For the Light!", the female voice echoes as five figures comes rushing out from the thick forest. It's Commander Autumn, her Templars and Benjamin.

Wait for a short time to see if the target was hiding all along if he does not show himself then use the battle as a distraction to incapacitate the warlock and once we are sure he cannot escape us meaning broken arms or unconscious or both we shall ensure the paladins victory if they question why we need the warlock alive we will tell them that it relates to our mission from the high priest and that the warlock has knowledge necessary to the order.

Also this does not feel right Austec knew the order was coming for him so he should have known that the templars would find this place and if the orcs are on his side then why let them be attacked like this? Something is amiss.

With no time to spare, you explode through the forest with inhumane speed. The Orks nearby that are focused on the Templars don't see you in time; You rush past them, even into one of them sending him flying to the side.

The Ork Warlock is standing on his throne and are currently chanting while gathering dark magic in his fists to throw at the Templars invading his camp. By the time he notice the dark being sprinting towards him, you've already leapt forward, grabbing his throat.

The both of you crash through his throne, destroying half of it and sending you to the dirty ground next to it. The Templars have been ordered to slay all Orks, so diplomacy would not serve you now nor would spending time interrogating the Warlock.

You rise up and pull the Warlock with you, holding him by the throat above the ground. In a swift motion, you rip your mask off and your eyes lock. Your face has been mutilated beyond recognision with countless deep scars. Some of them have healed on their own, while others been sealed by fire or dark magic, leaving traces from the twisted magic. Where there was once a nose there's only two holes and the outer edges of your mouth has been sealed shut by stitches. Your bald and even the top of your scalp is filled with deep scarrings. Your predator eyes are yellow with thick black veins running inside them.
>>
>>33471485

"Inquisitor!", the Warlock tries to scream, but your grip around his throat turns it into a wheeze followed by a cough for air. You mutter the word you've only used four times before in your 8 years as an Inquisitor. Your eyes turn from yellow to completely black. The Warlock stops struggling as he stares into your black eyes; he's under your will.

"Kill him!", you hear the Commanders voice a few meters next to you, "I command you to slay this creature of the abyss!"

"The Warlock dies when I'm done with him!", your voice echoes throughout the valley, never breaking eye contact with the Ork. Whenever you're in this state, your dark metallic voice is replaced with a demonic one that sounds like several dark and gritty voices at once.

"Where is Austec?!", The Ork trembles at your voice and continues to gasp for air while you throttle him. "Up North, past the Hinterlands.", he starts and darkness starts to slowly seep into his eyes, "In the Iron Kingdom!", is the last thing he screams before his eyes are filled with darkness and it overflows from his eyes down his cheeks. He's but a shell now. You drop him to the ground and back away, trying to regaining your composure after draining so much of your dark powers.

Commander Autumn takes a few steady steps forward and buries her sword in the Orks chest. The other Templars are holding their swords at the ready, staring at you.

"The Iron Kingdom...", Benjamin whispers to himself before looking over at you, "The Dwarf kingdom."

The Commander pulls out and rises, facing you with her sword and shield still in hand. There's a mixture of rage and disgust in her eyes. "I gave you an order, Inquisitor!", she barks. The valley is silent as you stand face to face with each other, "Defying my order is an act of treason...", she goes on, taking a step closer towards you. Her Templars follow her in tow, but Benjamin doesn't move from where he stands.

"Commander, maybe he was just trying--", he tries to reason with her, but she only cuts him off, "Silence, Squire!".

>A. Reason with her.
>B. Pull out your weapon.

Both plot and not. These "chains" will be used in the plot, but if you guys want I can post some information about it before then with spoiler filter.

I'm thinking from how it'd be if I were the head priest and had a living weapon like that at my disposal. One that doesn't talk about Church secrets and has the strength of a beast. A tool like that beats any zealot, who are a dime a dozen. Peasants want to hate it? Cool, whatever. Don't like him much myself. But the moment they get in its way out of some personal vendetta and start obstructing the greater business of the Church, heads would fly.

And not one belonging to the valuable inquisitor.
>>
>>33472118
>E. The orders of the high priest dwarf your own. Go reason with him not me.

You know OP, I gotta say..your templars are a tad retarded.

>routine ork extermination mission
>Church sends one of its elite killers, last of his kind after summoning him directly to the office of the head priest
>apparently that doesn't ring a bell
>bitch gets uppity all the time while having only 3 guys with her
>one inquisitor is as strong as 10 of them

She's either suicidal or brain damaged. And the head priest apparently had no qualms sending this team with us on some super secret assignment while knowing about her pathological hatred and the implications it has on the success of the mission. Is he also a retard?
>>
>>33472118
Na no spoilers. I was merely curious. I can wait for plot
>>
>>33472242
I get the impression that its not as if she doesn't know we are physically capable of wrecking her shit, she just believes herself to be our superior and is trying VERY hard to assert herself. We just don't give a shit.
>>
>>33472274
And the rest of them? Do they also believe themselves invincible? Even in the dining hall it took a single appearance for everyone to start caressing their swords.

I don't know man, my suspension of disbelief is getting strained here. It's one thing to be a holy man and hate the bound darklings, it's another to disregard absolutely everything known and implied for no reason whatsoever and try to get yourself into an early grave.
>>
>>33472242
I can agree that some of the Templars are zealous to the point of appearing very retarded, yes. Much like the servants of the real church during the crusade.

They are arrogant, that's all there is to it.
While there was Inquisitors around, they rarely attacked a holy man/woman. The only times they used their bloodcrazed ability was when they were given a vial with sacred blood in it for them to use on battlefields or on missions. Commander Autumn is so sure of herself and her position and how submissive you are, that she would see herself as your superior any time of the day.
The Head priest of that church couldn't have known that our target would get us mixed in with his detatchment of Templars under Commander Autumn. He assumed they would split up once they reached Oaksberry.

>>33472371
Okay man, but think about..toning the zeal a bit down here. I feel like there's an interesting character dynamic here. The young (?) and righteous commander, seeing herself as superior gets paired with one of the beasts she hates so much. One ent by the head of her order. Loyalty to the church wars against her own disgust and distrust. That's all good, but right now all I see is her frothing in the mouth at the mere glimpse in the MCs direction.

I'd like to think there's a brain in her skull somewhere, but this makes it seem like she chooses to ignore it. I can't feel for a character like that. But maybe I'm alone in that, I don't know.

test

"My orders come from the Head priest, Commander.", you inform her, backing away slowly from the approaching group of Templars. They move closer towards you, but others stop abruptely when they notice that their Commander has stopped dead in her tracks.

"Ordos sent you...", she mutters and her fellow Templars hear her, letting their eyes shift between their commander and the Inquisitor. Silence has yet again fallen upon the valley as the commander is torn between her loyalty and her duty. She swallows hard, keeping her sword in hand still.

"State your quest.", she finally commands you, to which you simple say, "To hunt down Austec Oakheart, heretic to the Holy Order.", and you can already see doubt in her eyes. Not from what you told her, but about what she needs to do. In the end she resheaths her sword in defeat.

"Captain Shepard.", she calls out to one of her Templars and he turns his back to you immediately, answering with a silent nod, "Take the men back to the church with the head of the Warlock."

"What about you, Commander?", Benjamin asks in doubt. Autumn remains quiet for some time, just staring at you. "I will accompany the Inquisitor and make sure he returns to face judgement once his mission to Ordos is done.", she explains. She is obviously trying to keep her pride, even in defeat. Benjamin steps forward and unsheaths his hammer and shield as well.

"No, you're still nothing but a squire, Benjamin; return to the church with the others."

"But...", he starts, looking over at you with pleading eyes. This is the chance he's been waiting for his entire life.

Something to consider. The guy is a defector from the church, probably high ranking one since he could nab something important. He's probably also skilled with holy magic. Well, actually the woman he loves is the one who explicitly ordered him to not come. We just followed her orders

PS. how much leeway do we have to disobey orders?
The burned letter we found seems to either incriminate the church (not useful)
or suggest that the scrolls relate to the creation of inquisitors, which goes along well with the fact we didn't get told what is in them. Because removing their leash would be awesome!

>PS. how much leeway do we have to disobey orders?
I'm baffled at this. Sent on a solo (?) mission, then in the middle of it take the commander and a paladin scrub with us. Won't the church sort of care that one of their perspective recruits has sorta fucked off to do his own shit?
>>
>>33473044

As you stare into Benjamin's pleading eyes, you feel something tingle inside of you. Picking up your mask and putting it on once more doesn't help. The feeling remains in your chest. What is this? What's stirring in your chest?

"Bring him", the voice calls out to you, the man you once were, "train him.", it continues to echo. In the end you rest your head in your hand, shaking it lightly to clear your mind.

"Benjamin is coming.", you finally voice your decision, to which Autumn stares at you in defience. She's clearly not agreeing with you, "No, he's not. He's only a squire and when it really matters, he doesn't have the spirit to fight creatures of the abyss. He--"

"He's coming.", you proclaim, leaning closer towards her before turning your back on her and start to walk away from all of them. From behind you hear Autumn whisper profanities under her breath before she starts walking after you, another pair of feet following her in tow.

"The Iron Kingdom!", Benjamin shouts out in joy, "And the Hinterlands...", his voice is filled with excitement even when he tries to sound calm. He sighs longily. Autumn ignores him the best she can as she quickens her pace to walk to match yours.

"I hope you don't plan to have us walk all the way to the Iron Kingdom.", she comments with her dripping sarcasm still present.

"No.", is the only thing you say as you lead a party of a Templar Commander and a Paladin Squire into the thick forest, heading North.

So far you are not disobeying orders at all. Commander Autumn took her liberty to tag along and put Benjamin under her wing when it was decided that he was tagging along as well.

Captain Shepard will tell High Priest Ordos that Benjamin is under Commander Autumns care.
>>
>>33473995
Awesome. Also, what say you about the alternate voting system proposed?
>>
>>33473995
So are we going to let him have her or are we gonna make her ours
Because I want her, we should help Ben find a nice girl who doesn't bitch at him
>>
>>33473995
You should have held another vote.

Congratulations Benfags, you can buttfuck your husbando now.

Yes I'm mad
>>
>>33474050
Doesn't he have to be made into a full Paladin or finish his training or something?
>>
>>33474071
She is still gonna be ours, ben will obviously get a dwarfu, or meet an old childhood friend
>>
>>33474071
Why? The way I see it, thinking she would want to get intimate with us is like thinking a warhammer fantasy witch hunter would want to get intimate with a mutant.
>>
>>33474070
He obviously can't handle her.
>>
>>33474071
>being this big of a faggot
its ok anon
you can ruin some other vote later
>>
>>33474076
As long as he doesn't try to leave the Holy Order and is under supervisition from a higher ranked member of the Order, he's free to do his training anywhere.

>>33474071
Aja, much can be said in hindsight.

I hate samefaggotry with a passion when it comes to these things though.

>>33474060
That five minutes and only A, B, C? I can run with that if others also want me to. Could minimize the damage a samefaggot could do, but then people also need to be quick, because I start counting the five minutes after the first vote.
>>
>>33474095
Pretty much I can see her not hating us , however I cannot see her loving us, and instead of trying to woo her we should train Ben and make sure he survives the damn mission and comes out of it on top.

We could also have people still do writing by selecting the option posting it then writing up their writein.
>>
>>33474123
That works, usually has a decent track record to prevent it.
>>
>>33474135
>I cannot see her loving us
neither can I.
>>
>>33474123
The only problem I see with that is if people want to do a write in and or they don't get to vote because
1. They got distracted by something
2. They're trying to think
>>
>>33474213
I can

man, we're an abomination of the dark arts. If we could have a female companion at all, we had at least eight years to do so. Also, I'm tired of forcing romance into a quest where it clearly was not planned.
>>
>>33474227
Then you are blind anon, and I pity you. You have been led from the true path and now walk in the darkness of waifufaggotry.

Also, if anyone wants it, this is basically my source of influence for Autumn, but red hair colour and in her early 20's.
>>
>>33474317
Is there a chance of us getting with her?

I just skipped the poll when I saw it, went back and voted when I saw you post though.

>>
>>33474309
I know I don't.
>>

>I'm baffled at this. Sent on a solo (?) mission, then in the middle of it take the commander
the commander ORDERED us to take her with us
We had to obey because we are bound to obey all orders by church officials, such as her
She want us to then stand trial and be destroyed for disobeying her order, even though the dumb fucking bitch gave us an order contradicting the order of a higher ranked official. so we had to disobey the lower ranked order.
>>
>>33474356
As do I

>>33474376
The story is somewhat okay, but gameplay sucks major dick, but ja it's Cassandra from DA 2. Felt appropriate.
>>
>>33474317
Good choice of design. i'm definitely looking forward to the rest of your quest and I hope a new voting system will work.
>>
>>33474366
The most important part was not about the commander, she can allegedly do whatever she wants. It was about the paladin whelp. I know if I was the teacher of that school and I'd get a report that one of my allegedly valuable pupils sorts of fucked off to another country, I'd be annoyed.

Apparently it doesn't work like that here and nobody cares where they train.
>>
>>33474405
My heart says fuck yes, but I have a feeling ben would hate us
>>
>>33474386
Who said we could fuck dogs. Are you comparing a woman with a dog? In that case, I don't even wanna try supporting your dreams anon, because that's just sick.
>>
>>33474427
Of course they care, especially his instuctor, but he can't do much when a higher ranked member takes his student under her wing and goes on a mission.
>>
>>33474459
wut?
I'm comparing us to a dog, we might as well be in the eyes of the people
>>
>>33474405
Eh it's all around meh in comparison to Origins. But it's still somewhat enjoyable. Also Dragon Age Inquisition. What's your thoughts?
>>
>>33474405
What story?
Seriously, it felt like a bunch of short story with a vague connection.
>>
>>33474429
He probably would but then, Ben has much higher chances with her than we do. Can't the protagonist just be a bro and help someone else get the girl in this quest?
>>
>>33474489
I personally imagine Ben would be a bro about it considering how shit our life is
>>
Wouldn't the church have the power to make more inquisitors? It they are going to keep existing they will probably need more once you die.
>>
>>33474481
Still suffering from "Hate everything by Bioware after ME3", but I've actually looked it up instead of being an ignorant twat and I really like the potential it has.

>>33474487
Guess I was just swept away slightly by the last hour or two in the game and the manliness that was the Arishok.
>>
>>33474489
I don't want to deal with any romance, including Ben's.
>>33474507
He hated us after we left him in the original end, I doubt it.
>>
>>33474477
I had the feeling that Templars were below Paladins in the hierarchy and that fledgling Paladins were under their own order.

Whatever, clear it up then. What's the hierarchy of the church? Who do we have to respect? Whose orders are higher than head priest's?
>>
>>33474481
IMO it seems good, you can apparently play as a Qunari mage in it if you wanted to. I just hope that the PC's personality reflects the Qunari's treatment of their mages if you do that.
>>
>>33474517
The Church want a guy killed for finding out they made them, I doubt they want any chance of it being found out,
>>33474539
The Quanari are the only reason I like DA at all, I might get Inquisition just to play as a Quanari mage.
>>
>>33474546
Squires fall under anyone's orders that are of higher rank than them in the church. Same goes for priest acolytes.

The ranking is as follows
squire/acolyte
Crusader
Trainer/instructors
Templars
Paladins
High priest
Arch Priests
Justicars
The Valkyrie
The Father
>>
>wake up in cold dark

The PC Quanari isn't an actual Quanari, they are one of the rogues.
>>
>>33474427
I didn't notice at the time that we got a retcon to take him with us.
I was basing my response on the "told him he can't come with"

What we SHOULD have done is obeyed her order to the letter and killing the warlock immediately. This would have been HILARIOUS because then we could go back to the church and say "sorry, I can't finish my mission, because the commander here ordered me to kill my only lead without interrogating him"

>>
>>33474658
>mfw the highest ranked member of the church is called "The Father"

Ah, that makes sense. Still would have preferred actual Qunari, the explanation for one of them starting an inquisition would alone justify buying the game.
>>
>>33474658
>people compare me to teenagers
>my life is shit
>>
>>33474478
Oh. Well, I don't think Autumn is the type for that sort of thing. What I want is for autumn to become an equal. a friend. someone to respect and trust. I can say the same for Benjamin, and I'd reject any attempt to waifu Autumn for the same reason I'd bring Ben with us to find Austec
>>

I would have loved writing the scene where the head priest loses it and flips the table in fury.
>>
>>33468343

How are we leashed? that is

Or do they just threaten us with hunting us down if we go rogue?

>>
>>33474755
The Holy Order exists in all four corners of the world, though the level of influence differs from country to country.

You're in the neighboring country to the Imperial Country where the seat of the Human Empire lies and where the Holy Order controls everything, even the young Emperor himself from time to time.

They have little influence in the Iron kingdom for example, but they still have a church or two in the villages south of the Northern mountains where the Dwarves have carved their kingdom into it.

Depends on the place and it's inhabitants.
>>
>>33474837
>stealing her
If she ain't his to begin with then we cant steal her
besides its her choice who she gives her affection to
>>
>>33474838
>Dwarves still don't give a fuck about human religon

Them Dorfs better Worship the Stone OP
>>
>>33474838
So. An abomination of the church goes to a country where the church has little influence in. is this normal or part of the reason why there's only 1 inquisitor now?
>>
>>33474883
>Not worshipping the Ancestors
>Being this much of a heretic
>>
>>33474890
Dwarves respect strength and dominance, just like Orks, but they're smarter about it. You'll see yourself what I mean once you reach their kingdom.

They care little for the Imperial laws and the Holy order, but the two past Inquisitor that has been around for decades before you were highly respected there for their strength. No one knows, or does who knows refuses to spill it, why the previous two Inquisitors disappeared and how you emerged 8 years ago after a couple of years of no Inquisitors at all.
>>
>>33474972
The inquisitors are all the same person but have their memory wiped

we are an unstopable engine of death and destruction

Also, if you are worried about standard of living
our current "employer" (slave owner) houses us at a dungeon cell AT BEST and at vague "much worse places" often. And feeds us stale bread and water usually. (with the access to wine we just got being a rare treat and probably an accidental oversight)

We could go off to a cabin in the wood and hunt deer and have a way higher standard of living.
Or we can be an adventurer and loot shit for tons of gold and live the good life
Or maybe take over some organized crime, live in a big mansion, and dabble in politics
Or raise an army and become a warlord
Or just wander around in a better disguise than we currently do so people don't recognize us and just stay at regular taverns
