You are Zhu Xing, from the city of Xu Chang. You've defeated Wang Lang's army and have driven him back to Hui Ji. Most of his territory is taken, and it is only time before you can take the city.Character Profile: http://pastebin.com/UTDjnUuXPast threads: http://archive.foolz.us/tg/search/subject/three%20kingdoms%20quest/
It is Fall, and the harvests are gathered as most of Wang Lang's territory is taken. With more troops coming to your side and a good harvest this year, you take a day of rest and celebration for your men. Your men and soldiers throw a feast outside of town and you have the day to yourself before you move out. >Go see how [insert officer] is doing>Enjoy the time with the soldiers and get to know them>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know them
>>33411220>>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themLet's build popular support
>>33411220>>Go see how [insert officer] is doingLingqi
>>33411220>Go see how [insert officer] is doing>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themCould we throw a small feast? If not,>lingqi
yay, my favorite quest; hopefully you can stay for a full session this time.>>33411220>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know them
>>33411220>>Go see how [Lingqi] is doingTime's a ticking. Have to get the waifu and work on heirs
>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themWe are going to be ruling over these people soon, might as well start making a good impression.
>>33411220This was brought up at the end of the last thread but>>Throw a small feast for all of your officersThey all deserve it and it'll be a good way to hang out with everyone and also get everyone to get to know one another.
>>33411220>>Enjoy the time with the soldiers and get to know themThe army is the foundation of the state. Especially Lu Bu's state.
>>33411307Yes, this. Feast for the officers.>>33411220
>>33411220>>Go see how [Lingqi] is doing
I wonder if we'll become Sima Yan-tier with our women once we get really up there in power. Also, yaaaaaay, favorite quest ever is here again.
>>33411220>>Go see how [insert officer] is doingLinqi
>>33411220>>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know them
>>33411220>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themLet's begin to cultivate popular support and benevolence. We can party with the officers and Song Xian after Wang Lang is defeated?
>>33411220>Go see how lingqi is doing
>>33411220Share some food with the peasants and get to know them.
>>33411220>>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themTime to raise our popularity with the people. We don't want to have to mow down any more homegrown militias like before again.
I don't think we can go wrong here. Lingqi would be useful since we do want to get as much of it done while we are against scrub tier enemies and not the Sun Clan.Building support among the people is always important, same for military although they already have a reason to like and respect us. Song Xian? Scrub officer can wait until Wang Lang's head is mounted on the city walls.
ROTK11 bro from last thread:pls upload your scenario Looked awesome
>>33411220>Go see how [Lingqi] is doing
>>33411220 >>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know them
>>33411220Raian we should really get the general who defected and the administrator guy on the pastebin just to keep track of them as resources.
>>33411479Fan Neng and Yan Jun?
>>33411220>Go see how Lingqi is doing
>>33411518Yeah.
>>33411220>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themMan. All three seem good. But we want the people to like us more than they ever did Wang Lang.
Gentlemen, been watching the 2010 Three Kingdoms again.I have an idea to attack the city before we even do so.There must be some traffic still going in and out of the city right now as its not fully under siege. We Post flyers and town criers in the major intersections before the city so that news can travel into it, we might also attempt to infiltrate saboteurs inside. We announce our intention to march upon the city and lay siege to it later in fall.We will march with full force of our might, that Lu Bu has taken the head of the bandit leaders and is marching to reinforce.Victory is no longer in doubt, all that remains is how long it takes and how many people die and suffer. We call upon Wang Lang to capitulate and surrender. We will guarantee his safety and he will be able to retire in peace. In doing so, he saves countless soldiers and townsfolk from suffering and death in the siege. We also call upon any soldiers or leaders of the city, should Wang Lang refuse to surrender to us. We call upon them to capture or kill Wang Lang and present the city to us. Wealth and a high position will be offered to those involved and all soldiers will be pardoned and still allowed to return to their homes. We attack him mentally before we even do so. He'll be cornered by his leaders to accept surrender and he'll have to keep looking over his shoulder in case of betrayal.A few months of this will fuck with him.
>>33411220>Enjoy the time with the soldiers and get to know them>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themHow about a small feast for everyone? Perhaps not all peasants just the more important ones.
>>33411220>>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themNeed more popular support.Whats more, we can always find Lingqi. This is one of the few events to help popular support.
>>33411203Food for the peasants. We can save celebrations with Lingqi and our military AFTER we secured the region. As is, we need to make sure we can keep some supplies going and prevent attacks at our rear.
>>33411591Honestly we should've done what Sun Ce did, and simply ride our 2000 Horses directly to Wang Lang and killed him like that.
>>33411220>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know them
>>33411635No sense crying over spilled milk.Look to what we can do now.
>>33411665But what about next time?
>>33411220>Share some food with the peasants, and get to know themSecure the area before waifuism.
>>33411220>Go see how [Linqi] is doing
>>33411428http://www.mediafire.com/download/m06zzwuj781dxno/Zhu_XingSCEN002_.S11Download to the media/scenario folder, then rename it to 'SCEN002.S11'.Just tested it, and it loads fine. There is a bug where Lu Bu and Liu Biao's armies have Japanese test in their name for some reason. I'll also have to move Zhou Xin into Wang Lang's Army.
>>33411678Then propose the strategy with reasoning at an appropriate time?
>>33411220>>Go see how Lingqi is doing
>>33411678Thats in the future.Right no this is a siege.
>>33411220>Go see how [insert officer] is doingLingqi
>>33411591I can support this.Didn't Cao Cao do this before his invasion of the south?
>>33411746
>>33411746He did. >>33411788 Perfect.
Lingqi has done exceptionally well in the last battle, killing the enemy general Zhou Xin and having led the cavalry together with you to rout the enemy. And as ever, you find yourself infatuated with the girl for better or worse. You decide to take the time to see her.You move around the camp as soldiers are eating merrily and laughing in mirth. The smell of stew and beef is heavy in the air and all around the camp you can see the fumes of food rising in the air. Morale is certainly high around the camp. One of the soldiers sitting around a fire gets up to greet you, and when you ask where Lingqi is, he informs you that she in her tent eating alone. "Err... General, no one is allowed ten feet near of Lady Lingqi's tent. With all due respect, perhaps you should stay away to not anger her."You scoff with a wave of your hand. You're the commanding general here. You find Lingqi's tent, an announce your presence as you walk inside moving the flaps of the tent. "Lingqi h-"A chopsticks comes flying forward and hits you squarely on the head with a thud. You wince slightly in pain with a hand on your forehead. "I specifically ordered no one comes near my place of rest."You look at Lingqi, who is eating a small meal on her table. She is still in her black-clad armor, and her halberd is set aside near her bed. Her frows are burrowed and she looks at you with a frown."What do you want?">I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle.>I was wondering if we could eat and chat together.>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...
>>33411815>>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle.
>>33411699You're godly. Thanks, anon.
>>33411815You waifufags are on your own for this shit. The key to the south was popular support but nooo, waifuism.
>>33411714I'm not that guy, but as is, it's harvest season and fall. If we fight over the winter, it's likely going to end badly for us.I say we secure the lands around the place, cut off supply lines, and try to damage their supplies and warehouses. It may demoralize the enemy and have the peasants inside try to get out so they don't starve to death during the winter.
>>33411815>>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle.>>I was wondering if we could eat and chat together. Not seeing why one can't lead into the other.
>>33411815>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle.
>>33411847How cold are Southern China/Wu territories during winter? Fighting during winter is never a good thing, but we could have more time for campaigning since we aren't in Northern China.
>>33411847It's already been said that their supplies are sufficient to last for a year, even if we siege them. Also if you read last thread, all the land has been secured, save for the city. When we siege, its either to pin them for a year or a quick campaign to conquer the city within 3 months or so.
>>33411815>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle. We really need to start congratulating our other generals at this rate, though.
>>33411815Gods damn it, you stupid waifu lovers. This is going to bite us in the arse. Seriously, couldn't we do both? Because I am getting tired of the quite obvious spammer who wants to see this desolve into another waifu game.Just.. congradulate her and get back to proper buisness.
>>33411815>>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...Though I can kind of guess the tactics she wants to use.
>>33411815I hereby want to make you my wife to continue my line and combine it with that of Lu Bu's. Stop making me waste turns trying to court you you frigid bitch.
>>33411815>I was wondering if you had come out of the thoughts that had plagued you the last time we had fought>We should fight again, I have not had a true victory against you until we are both at 100%
>>33411919>This is only the second time we've actually used a turn to talk to her
>>33411909>>33411884>>33411863>>33411834>>33411828She isn't the type that would appreciate that you know guys. The very fact that we'd be discussing tactics with her would be compliment enough.
>>33411940Wait, what? Are you talking about another Lingqi? Cause the one I remember had a chip the size of china on her shoulder about getting recognized for her actions.
>>33411815>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...>>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle.
>>33411940She has the strategic acumen of her father.
>>33411940True. Tactics make sense. Maybe we can suggest some support to the peasantry to ease the siege in the long term?
>>33411984Nothing has the strategic acumen of her father. Her father has negative strategic acumen.
>>33412007Lingqi's basically a really competent warrior who has expressed no real interest in strategy or tactics. Lu Bu Jr.
>>33411815>>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...
>>33411815>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...Also a bit presumptive ordering around her general.
>>33411815>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle
>>33411815>>I was wondering if we could eat and chat together.
I can't care enough to vote on this shit.Gentlemen, strategies for defeating Wang Lang? Lets at least get this underway.>>33411591 This seems like a decent low cost move now to make. When the siege comes, I'm hesitant on using fire, due to the damage to the populace and the people.Instead, I think we should look to see if we can build siege towers to get onto the walls.
>>33411815>I was wondering if we could eat and chat together.
>>33411815>>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...Will the waifufags leave us alone? There's a time and place for that. Now is not it.
"You did exceptionally well in the last battle. Even killed an enemy general," you say with a smile, coming over to the table. "I just wanted to congratulate you."Lingqi frowns even more, placing an elbow on the table and leaning her chin against her hand with legs crossed."Oh really? You couldn't have done it in another time? You had to come here for that?""Surely. Lord Lu Bu will be pleased once I inform him. And I must keep the praises separate from work, lest the other generals grown jealous."Lingqi sighs slightly, though she is appeased."Well, have a seat since you're here. I was just thinking I had too much food here anyway."You chuckle at her remarks, and take a seat opposite of her as offered. The food on the table is simple; some seasoned vegetables and a pot of rice and cooked meat as the main dishes. Lingqi casually goes back to eating her food, her legs still crossed and not caring much for table manners as is expected of women in these lands. You pour yourself a drink first.>Why do you eat alone?>What do you think of this campaign so far?>Do you have any word on your sister?
>I want to discuss plans for the next battle...>>I wanted to congratulate you for the last battle
>>33412074Is it even a good idea to siege during winter? It's going to be cold and while the enemy is huddled up where it's warm, our troops are going to be freezing. There's a reason why no one fought wars during winter. Since we've failed in getting popular support, we should avoid doing things that'll make us unpopular towards our own troops.
>>33411815>I was wondering if we could eat and chat together
>>33412131>>Do you have any word on your sister?
>>33412131>What do you think of this campaign so far?
>>33412131>What do you think of this campaign so far?"Hopefully I haven't been too disappointing."
>>33412131>Why do you eat alone?I think we're up along with our relationship where we can ask her questions like this.
>>33412131So we know she feels a lot of responsibility, doesn't particularly like fighting for its own sake, and is currently in a bit of a mood. Hmm.>Do you have any word on your sister?Might be the best way to approach this, obliquely.
>>33412131>>Why do you eat alone?
>>33412131>>Why do you eat alone? It might help if we're just more direct about this entire thing.
>>33412140The plan was to start the siege in the fall, so probably sometime soon. We'll have a few months to attack but after that we still need to mantain the siege inorder to starve them.
>>33412131>"Well, have a seat since you're here. I was just thinking I had too much food here anyway."tsun tsun tsun
>>33412241It won't work.Remember how Wang Lang has a huge granary?
>>33412131>>Why do you eat alone?Let's give this a shot.
>>33412257Yes and thats exactly why we need to siege to make sure they can't receive supplies on the sly.Starving them out will take a year so we best get started.
>>33412140We aren't in the northern plains anymore. Winter isn't as severe down in the south. The Battle of Changban was in October and Red Cliffs was in the winter. It obviously didn't end well for Cao Cao but that indicates that Winter campaigns are possible, though not ideal. However, if psychological warfare and ploys don't work, I'd favor an attack on the city so we can consolidate our gains.
>>33412140The rest of China isn't going to wait. Here in Yangzhou the winters should be mild, and since we control the countryside our supply lines will remain secure. Since our morale is high is Wang Lang was never popular in the first place, there is little risk of revolt.
>>33412131>>Why do you eat alone?Philosophical debate?
>>33412131>Why do you eat alone?"Fengxian eats together, and he eats merrily, he adores the praise of his generals and friends.""But you like to eat alone, Lu Lingqi, may I ask why?"
>>33412298The main problem is the damage to the city and her population.I wonder if we should hold back on using fire and siege weaponry indiscriminately.Either that or we allow safe passage for civilians to flee through our lines.
>>33412294>>33412298Remember that Yuan Shu's likely our next enemy. The Sun clan is popular in the south and they are with Yuan Shu. We need these territories quickly so we can start making them ours. Taking out Wang Lang quickly is ideal here, even if it costs us more soldiers than the alternative.
>>33412241We have this in the bag long term though as long as no one else tries to attack us. We control all of the territories surrounding Wang Lang. We should probably focus on fortifying our lands. Minimize losses so we can defend the land we just conquered. We can afford to be patient. Besides if we wait long enough Lu Bu-Senpai might come back after his own conquest and reinforce us and we can take the city easy.
>>33412294Alright that makes sense. I was thinking that it'd be cold enough that the rivers would freeze
>>33412348Honestly if we can get someone inside to set fire to the grain then this battle will be over in less than a week.Speed however is of the essence, considering our position with Yuan Shao and Sun Ce.That being said, I really wish we could recruit Sun Ce.
>>33412360>as no one else tries to attack us.Wouldn't count on it
Roll 1d100. Avg of 4, lowest dropped.
>>33412360A year is a long time, we must finish the campaign quickly in order to have time to consolidate our hold.Besides, Lord Lu Bu charged us with subjugating these lands ourselves, it would be disrespectful for us to rely on him to finish things up.

He'll then turn to look towards the south.Also... There will be no succession problems in the Liu camp. Liu Biao will give it to his eldest son since Liu Cong didn't marry his cousin and get the political machinations moving.

>>33412458>not having an heirDo you even dynasty?
I think Zhou Yun wouldn't be stupid enough to consider taking Lu Bu on in proper battle. If anything they might join us and attempt to back-stab us, so that should be taken into thought.
>>33412458If this doesn't work we move on to trying to NTR Zhuge Liang.
>>33412484I don't have a problem with that. It's just that we had plenty of other things to do that NEED to be done. This can wait.
Three Kingdoms Quest is up again! Most exciting time of the week has co->Waifu faggots insisting we choose waifu for every option whenever its a remote possibility.Well I'm not surprised, but I had some small hope that /tg/ could actually play an MC as anything but retarded. Winning popular support or at least improving our relations with the generals who we aren't familiar with were the obvious options, oh well guess we'll just have to deal with "WAIFU! XD" for the rest of the quest unless we marry a homely woman of station later on or something. On the upside at least RoTK was filled with awesome guys doing dumb shit and suffering the consequences for it. So at least Zhu Xin fits in.
>>33412440He's also likely to have more Yuan soldiers back him since Lu Bu is a much bigger threat now. I think I posted in another thread about Sun Ce's likely generals: Zhou Yu, Lu Fan, Cheng Pu, Huang Gai, Zhou Tai, Han Deng. Fortunately, Lu Bu can solo any of these generals in combat and so can Zhang Liao, Taishi Ci, and even us for the most part. Their generals tend to be much more experienced than our counterparts though. We are very top heavy.
>>33412518I don't have a problem with that. Fuck benevolence.
>>33412519Not at the rate turns pass time. None of the other options were mission critical this moment, either.
>>33412523To be fair, Lu Linqi is a beloved daughter of Lord Lu Bu. Politically it's a real benefit to have her on our side.
>>33412518Fuck Zhuge Liang. Wei Yan did nothing wrong.
>>33412550>Fuck benevolence.But xingcai isn't born yet
>>33412523You're not the only one upset, anon.Well chime in on the possible siege plans, then.
>>33412518Lianshi is a much more excellent choice who is also in our side of the country.
>>33412600Disgusting melons, please go
>>33412569We're pretty much already Lu Bu's most trusted. It doesn't really give us anything we already have.
>>33412600>NTRing QuanI can get behind this plan.
>>33412569Not with those rolls. This was a waste of time.
>>33412546Duels won't matter much when we're pitted against some of Wu's future top commanders and Zhou Yu's intellect. Chen Gong's a decent strategist, but he's not a match for Zhou Yu.I predict Sun Ce/Yuan Shu will be our major enemy for most of this quest, with Cao Cao the endgame. We already need to consider:>No Lu Bu attacking Puyang means Cao Cao has no distractions while attacking Xu Province>Assuming Liu Bei still wins, no Lu Bu to backstab him as he faces off against Yuan Shu, but that also means the province is unguarded against Cao Cao
Lets just go full Sima Yao.And make EVERY SINGLE GIRL IN THE THREE KINGDOMS OUR CONCUBINE!ALL THE WAY UP TO 5000!
>>33412624Liu Bei is going to backstab the shit out of Cao Cao for muh Benevolence. We'll have to see how that turns out for him.
>>33412624There will also be no succession crisis with Liu Biao's camp. Since Liu Cong didn't marry Lady Cai's daughter, she won't bother stirring shit.
"Everyone is enjoying themselves today and feasting together. Why do you eat alone here?" you ask taking a sip from your cup."None of your business," Lingqi says with a scowl."Hah, fair enough," you reply. "But all the others generals and I consider you an equal and a comrade in our force. We worry for you, and hope that you can place your trust in us as we do for you. If there is anything troubling you, feel free to consult me."Lingqi slightly grumbles. From the expression on her face, you can tell she wants to say something but refrains from doing so. It seems your relationship and ability to talk is not on level enough for the girl to open up. You only chat a bit here and there before leaving Lingqi alone.----------------------------------------The next day arrives and your men are in good spirits. In a few more months, Winter will come which will make it harder to take Hui Ji. With the city surrounded, you have the option of starving them out; though the city can last another year before running out of supplies. You are however a general that has been tasked with taking the Southlands as soon as possible, and you may feel like taking the city more quickly by fighting. What do you choose to do?>Attack Hui Ji>Starve the city out>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generals
>>33412624Yup, that's why I talked about the experience and intelligence of their generals. Cheng Pu, Huang Gai, Lu Fan, and Sun Ce are all fairly intelligent generals. Zhang Liao and our MC (basically Cao Ren) are their matches, but who else? Gao Shun is a superb cavalry general, but a bit of a specialist. Taishi Ci is an awesome warrior, but how good was he as a general? (Real question, not rhetorical)Lingqi, Lu Bu, and the 4 Lts are basically trash when it comes to strategy and tactics. We really need to acquire additional strategists. Yu Fan, Lu Su, and other Wu advisers would be nice.
So I've started reading the novel, turns out Diaochan is the same age as Lu Linqi is in this quest...
>>33412720>>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generalswhat a waste of time
>>33412720>>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generals
>>33412569I have no problem with pursuing Lu Linqi in principle. I just wish people would save courting her for after we've actually gotten some significant victories and proven ourselves a capable leader and warrior to the other major players in the faction. We get by on being Lu Bu's trusted friend, but we haven't done much to solidify the loyalty of anyone (troops, peasants, ministers etc) that we work with and instead spend our time chasing after a girl who would probably be more receptive after we've kicked a bit more ass and proven ourselves competent.
>attempt to burn the capitals Granaries>Roll up with a fuck ton of food & established supply lines >Offer to feed the city if Wang lang capitulates>laugh as the city tears itself apart>Profit
>>33412720>>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generalsAlso, fuck using rolls to decide on shit like that, it's fucking pathetic. And inconsistent, considering we haven't done it at all before.
>>33412720>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generalsFor Zhang Liao's opinion, really
>>33412720>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generals
It makes me laugh seeing even the tg dice shun and curse the waifu fags.I'd say for them to learn their lesson, but I'm sure they won't.
>>33412720Call a council.
>>33412748>significant victoriesWhat, like blowing up a 10k man strong army and taking over the entire province?>but we haven't done much to solidify the loyalty of anyone Why did everyone vote to ignore one of our generals when we had a free chance to improve his relationship, again?
>>33412778>What, like blowing up a 10k man strong army and taking over the entire province?Thats not even complete yet.
>>33412748Yeah, the biggest problem here is that we're trying to 'make sure we have an heir', but our position is very shaky and could collapse at any moment. We can worry about marriage when our lands are stable and secure, not when we hold a single city and outlying villages and are surrounded by enemies.
>>33412720>>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generalsAll ideas must be laid out.
>>33412720>Attack Hui Ji>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generalsGoing to attack, but maybe the generals have suggestions that can help increase the effectiveness.
>>33412771Of course it won't. They'll just go "oh, it's teegee dice"But you know, if we didn't actually fucking need dice to do conversation skills, then maybe we'd already be in bed with the damn woman, or rejected entirely.
>>33412784One city with no support is left. This is mop up.
>>33412720>Call for a council and ask the opinions of the other generalsI'm up for >>33412751
>>33412748I was actually re-reading the quest last week and tried to look at our MC's battle record.Zhu Xing has been a fairly good general so far. His last defeat was at Chang'an, which we all remember, but he's won all his victories since then. He also took top credits for the letter ploy, and his successful southern campaign so far. Zhu Xing has been very good when it comes to open field battles, but he's incredibly cautious when the enemy holds favorable defensive terrain. It's worked out well for him in some ways, and poorly in others. Overall, he's done pretty good so far.
>>33412798A 'mop up' that takes year. Troops of at least 4-6k and the final enemy general in a fortified city. That is no mop up, this is a last boss.
>>33412724Yu Fan will be a bit tricky, as he was a direct and abrasive person, he might get along poorly with Lu Bu. Lu Su will also be difficult to find, he was just living on a farm when Zhou Yu came upon him. We'll need a lot of luck and some negotiating to get proper strategists, but that's what we need the most at the moment.
>>33412810>but he's incredibly cautious when the enemy holds favorable defensive terrain.Now. Remember Chang an.
>>33412720Bloody hell do I hate dice for stuff like this. Well, we screwed up because of that, so let's get a game plan together.
>>33412833>Last boss>Laughing Cao cao.gif
>>33412810Yeah, he's pretty good. But nothing outstanding. Of course most outstanding generals are simply lucky.
>>33412837My plan was to have Yu Fan as our personal strategist and part of our retinue. This should work since Lu Bu promised us our own city to govern. He won't survive long if he's Lu Bu's direct subordinate. Reading up on him, I was amazed that he survived so long without some shanking his ass.
>>33412833Who will lose if he goes for an open field battle, knows this, and has let us take over the entire province because of it. This guy isn't a last boss. He's a speedbump.
>>33412751Those are currently held in the city and are sufficient for a year.
>>33412720>>33412751This seriously has some merit to it
>>33412866That sounds good, our top generals are reasonable people that are concerned with getting the job done and won't react violently to someone like Yu Fan. Lu Su would be an excellent diplomat, administrator, and adviser.
>>33412720>>Attack Hui JiWaiting a year is stupid and takes too long, I hope you all realize how stupid and incompetent it sounds for us to take an entire year just to seize one castle that doesn't even belong to anybody noteworthy.Besides, who's to say we won't be attacked by another enemy sometime in that year? Keep in mind we're not the only ones here. I say take it now, before it gets any harder for us.
>>33412778That's a single victory, but we need to prove that we're worthy of being Lu Bu's right hand, and that's a big shadow to step out of. If we had sealed the deal and caught Wang Lang before he got to safety that would have been a much bigger feather in our cap. Don't forget we also have to live down the blunder of leaving the emperor exposed and vulnerable because we wanted to hang with sempai. That's going to take some doing. To be fair to Zhu Xing though, he's still young and is doing well despite a few set backs here and there. So I think he's at least on the right track.
>>33412866>>33412920>One day, when Sun Quan travelling on horseback, he asked Yu Jin to ride beside him. Yu Fan saw that and shouted at Yu Jin, "You're a surrendered prisoner-of-war. How dare you ride side-by-side with my lord!" He wanted to hit Yu Jin with his horsewhip but Sun Quan ordered him to stop>Yu Fan objected and urged him to execute Yu Jin. Sun Quan did not listen to Yu Fan. On the day of Yu Jin's departure, Sun Quan's subjects, including Yu Fan, came to see him off. Yu Fan told Yu Jin, "Don't you ever think that there are no great persons in Wu. It is just that my advice was not heeded." >Mi Fang's men closed the gates so Yu Fan was unable to pass through. Yu Fan was furious and he shouted, "You leave the gates open when they are supposed to be closed, and you close them when they are supposed to be opened. Is this what you should be doing?">Once, when Sun Quan and Zhang Zhao were talking about immortals, Yu Fan pointed at Zhang and shouted, "They are all dead people but yet you call them immortals. How can there be immortals in this world?" At this point, Sun Quan could no longer tolerate Yu Fan so he exiled him to Jiao ProvinceThis guy is fucking hilarious
>>33412720I really hate it when dice decide something like his, it feels really stupid. It promotes relying on the dice rather than learning the character and how they function, what they like and what they hate.It just all lies on the die, and that's not something it should ever rest on
>>33412897what are Saboteurs? If it fails to bring the conflict to an end it serves to bring Wang lang ill will.If it ends the conflict we come across as benevolent & kind.either way we win

>>33412751Sounds good. I wonder if those bandits would be useful for this kind of sabotage.
>>33412922I haven't read many posts in support of sieging this fucking castle for a year.People just want to call a council first, because why the hell not?
>>33412964Time for anther Xu Chang
>>33412938Keep in mind rolls also take into account our stats. I think it was appropriate given that it was an important point in the conversation and all the nuances involved can't be determined by the players.
>>33412948We will need to infiltrate the city first.I'm not against the plan. I just thought that you might have thought that the graneries were outside the city.
>>33412720CALL FOR A COUNCIL
I propose we pull a Cao Cao.We send a 500-1000 of our weakest men to attack the walls, they will fail, obviously. And then we retreat, as if to rally and re-couperate our forces. This will make Wang Lang drunk on victory, and attempt to attack us on the open fields, as he no longer has a competent strategist
>>33412998That just promotes spamming till the dice are good enough. I don't particularly like it.
>>33413015I doubt he'll be that stupid. We wacked off his commanders and killed off more than half of his army.Hes not going to fall for something like this.
>>33412998I wouldn't mind it so much If Raian actually let us build up our CHA stat, but no, we spend all of our sessions devoted to war, and even when we plan or talk or anything in the middle, it does not help.
>>33412974You are incorrect for many, many reasons. The first being that it was Chang'an and not Xuchang. The second being that we massively outnumber Wang Lang at this point. The third being that an unsuccessful assault is unlikely to reverse our gains, merely inflict losses and perhaps force us to starve them out. The fourth being that the enemy is being lead by Wang Lang without any of his capable generals (since we killed them all), and not Jia Xu.>>33413015Wang Lang might be incompetent, but he's not Lu Bu.
>>33413047We haven't had a stat up in 5 threads, anon. Over a month.
>>33413022I don't think so, since we have so few chances.
>>33413039Liu Bei did, and he didn't even have a numbers advantage.
>>33413047That's less Raian and Lu Bu fags wanting Cha & Pol to be our dumpstat
>>33413078Shufag pls.
>>33413015>>33413039Also keep in mind this would make us VERY unpopular in our own army.We want people to like us, right?
>>33413053It was Liu Bei that was tricked like that anon, not Lu Bu.
>>33413047You serious? No stat-ups until campaign ends. And CHA can go up during war sessions, since most of the session is spent on planning and social interactions anyway. >>33413078>Not wanting Pol to be our dump statYou can't be a mediocre jack of all trades when you are a general. That's why we recruit advisers like Yu Fan and Yan Jung into our retinue.
>>33413047Raian said we'll get our stat up at the end of this campaign. Lets work towards it.>>33413078I still support Pol as the dump stat. Cha is way too useful.
>>33413094>ImplyingRemember when Cao Cao had people defecting left right and centre for those devious plans?Yeah, neither do I.
>>33413093>Shufag>Not recognizing Cao Cao was the perfect fucking example of a jack of all trades.
>>33413094What? The plan won't work because a blind child could see it coming not for whatever you are talking about.
>>33412998Yeah, having the roll is the whole reason why Charisma is a thing. I'm sure if our relationship improves enough we probably won't even have to roll to talk about that particular subject and for more important dialogs I'm sure they will be more involved than simply rolling the dice anyway.
>>33413094This. Let's try some subterfuge in preparation, then bombard the city for a month or two and see what develops.
>>33413126At least you're honest about wanting to cripple us.
You decide to hold a council to determine your next move. The generals gather around the main tent and table once again. When everyone is present, you nod and begin."Generals, first, I would like to thank you all for making this campaign a success so far. Wang Lang's defeat has only been accomplished with your help. However, the city of Hui Ji still stands, and as long as Wang Lang lives, he may return to attack our conquered lands. Winter is coming soon, and we have the option of keeping this city at bay until they starve while the other forces return to Jian Ye to rest, or we may attack the city now. What say all of you?""Retreating and waiting out a year shows a poor demonstration of a warrior," Song Xian states flatly. "I do not want to go back without having taken the city.""Agreed," Lingqi responds. "We already retreated in the Summer when we could have pursued and defeated Wang Lang. It would be humiliating for us and for my Father's name if we go stand still once again."Zhang Liao rubs his chin, contemplating the manner before speaking."I think we should take Hui Ji as well. There is still Yuan Shu to the north, and I worry should he attack us if we keep delaying our campaign. Should he attack and Wang Lang move out in response, it may spell trouble for our forces."It seems the majority have stated to take Hui Ji. You can the council now and begin your task, or ask for more opinions on taking Hui Ji.>Begin the attack on Hui Ji>Ask advice on taking Hui Ji

>>33413166>>As Advice on taking Hui JiAnd I want to second >>33413212. That sounds like a good idea
Our War is already 85 unbuffed, that's very high compared to most generals. We need to work on, at the least, Leadership and Charisma.
>something didn't go our way>time to whine and complain>there were literally like 5 times where training a stat was an optionI can't wait until we actually lose a battle when going against someone like Sun Ce or Cao Cao.>wahhh railroad>wahhh not enough hints on silver plattet>wahhh QM just wants to see us fail
>>33413232If we want to get to Cao Cao's level, with the current way we're going, we'll be about 40 before we reach his base stats, not including the possible huge stat leap we'll have after this campaign
>>33413265>most generalsNone of the actual good ones we're worried about, so no. You have to be in the 90's to really count yourself among the heroes.
>>33413207The collective decisions have been pretty good so far. Our only problem has been that we are far too cautious when it comes to assaulting enemy positions when they have favorable terrain. But that's not a fatal weakness and it will likely be balanced out. >>33413232If we had 449 points to dole out, we could be the second coming of Cao Cao.But we don't, we have limited number of points to allocate due to the nature of these games. I can see why CHA would be useful in our position, Pol is the least useful out of bunch for many reasons including the fact that we can have political advisers. WAR and LDR will always be our bread and butter stats since those are stats we have to rely on the most. INT is also incredibly useful, but can be supplemented by intelligent strategists.
>>33413265>that's very high compared to most generals. Among war only generals it's pretty fucking terrible actually. We need to be pushing 90s to be fighting most major generals equally
>>33413281But we're already 89 buffed. Are we really expecting to suddenly be on the level of the greatest generals of the era right off the bat? We don't need to try to be a second Lu Bu.
So this quest got me back into RoTK X again. I had forgotten how relaxing the game is.I'm still just as awful at the debates as I remember being, though.
>>33413311>part 9>runs once a week>right off the batnigger, what?
>>33413265We are the 4th strongest general in our own (admittedly top heavy) faction. I get your point and think LDR is a big priority since WAR kinda buffs itself on its own accord. But we aren't an ultimate badass. We can beat Zhang Liao and Taishi Ci if we get decent rolls but we are still slightly weaker than them.
>>33413311Lu Bu is about 105.Most major enemy generals, such as Dian Wei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, lie on the upper 90s.
>>33413331Lingqi is probably better than us too, we just rolled really really damned well in her duel.
>>33413166>Ask for advice, but give our own thoughts.Honestly? Unless we can end this fast, we may need to resort to low methods to shorten the seige. Targeting their vast food stores could work, but it's going to REALLY screw with the locals and make us hated among them.Might be a good idea to concentrate fire on a section of the wall with our seige and try to bust through the hole as well. Either way, we should likely give the peasants here SOME support so we don't have to worry about revolts behind us. Perhaps as a thank you for putting up with us last night?
>>33413329It's AD 192. We're not even 10% of the way through .
>>33413166We have catapults. How long would it take to punch a hole in their walls?
>>33413331I think we are also younger than them. Zhu Xing is only 20, so after a couple of campaigns I imagine he'll start to hit stride enough to be comparable to the other major players of the era.>>33413166Ask advice on taking Hu Ji. Get feed back from the other generals on the proposed schemes. If we can shatter the enemy's morale then hopefully our gains will be much greater and our losses much fewer.
>>33413385>Targeting their vast food stores could work, but it's going to REALLY screw with the locals and make us hated among them. We're taking about the government's own stores, those aren't normally available to public anyway.
>>33413349Nah, we are stronger than her. >>33413346>>33413306Did you guys confuse major enemy generals with the "Biggest Fucking Badasses" of the entire Three Kingdoms?Or are Cao Ren, Yu Jin, and Yue Jin suddenly weak pieces of shit?
>>33413349Lingqi's War is 89 in RotTK XI, we're about even.
>>33413385The food one should be fine as long as we feed all the civilians the moment the city falls.
>>33413385If we do it as >>33412751 says we roll with a huge amount of food & a stable supply line so that we can troll the city into surrendering by offering them food if they do so.
>>33413448We also probably passed her in WAR after beating the shit out of her if we want to get meta-gamey.
>>33413493Potential upgrades are not actual upgrades.
>>33413346I don't think we're going to be facing the most powerful generals of the era in equal combat in the imminent future.Even Sun Ce's conquest of Wu is several years off.
>>33413385Targeting the food supply was a common method of war, and it doesn't breed animosity so long as we can provide immediate assistance after they surrender. They are likely to put more blame on their incompetent lord for their suffering. We can help spread that message as well. >>33413507This campaign is likely to end pretty soon. So unless Wang Lang took steroids, I think we'll be just fine on the WAR front.
>>33413436>Or are Cao Ren, Yu Jin, and Yue Jin suddenly weak pieces of shit? We're also a match for Huang Gai, Han Dang and Guan Ping.
"Generals, do you have any suggestions on taking Hui Ji? I wish to take it as quickly as possible before the dread of Winter. A straight up siege may take too long.""We bombard them for a few days, then commence an all our attack," Song Xian states. "We should be giving no rest to the enemy and make them surrender as quickly as possible.""Morale is the key force here," Gao Shun says. "The enemy has already lost numerous battles, and they have been holed up in the city for months now. If the General can find a way to deplete their spirit, we should be able to take Hui Ji easily.""I am in agreement," Zhang Liao states with a nod. "I have heard Wang Lang to be a cowardly man, if not pragmatic. If we should show him defeat is imminent, then he should surrender. As for any ploys and the like... I am afraid that is Master Chen Gong's expertise, not mine. Perhaps you can focus on letting the enemy know that our numbers are larger than theirs. Or attempting to rile the populace that live in the city."With the advice given, you nod and decide to move out your forces. Your troops march only a short day toward Hui Ji, and in no time, the city can be seen. Alarms rise through the city when your army approaches, and soldiers move to the walls to defend. All in all the enemy has around 4000 troops, while you have amassed an army of 10,000. You have an adequate amount of siege weapons and your supply lines are good enough that you no longer need to worry for supplies. The city walls are moderately strong, and the gates are heavily monitored that it seems people can no longer enter or leave the city. You order the catapults to be set up and to begin bombarding the enemy for a couple days. Lobs of boulders and fire pots are hurled to the city, and with the men defending the walls lacking in experience in dealing with a siege, the bombardment causes decent damage to the enemy forces and walls, killing a few hundred. After days of bombardment and the enemy tired, cases of letters demanding surrender and safety for those who will give up, as well as stories of Wang Lang's allies having been defeated are sent flying over the city. Despite the bombardment, there are still enemy forces intact so they refuse to surrender yet, though their morale has suffered and you can see the enemy soldiers are in a miserable state.>Continue the bombardment for more days>Attack the enemy with all your forces for a few days>other, write-in ploys

I'm going to have to agree with attacking the walls. We'll loose some men doing so sadly, but their troops are shaken, their defenses are weakened and we have veteran troops with good morale itching for some glory. If we can end it in a big push we should do so.

>>33414432If they do well vs this direct assault their morale may go up. If that's the case it'd be wiser to use the catapults again.
How about we focus most of our forces to attack a certain part of the castle, since we greatly out number them they'll most likely concentrate most, if not all of their forces there. While they do, a smaller group of forces sneak around to silently climb up the castle walls in a part of the castle that won't be guarded, maybe? Then we either attack them from both sides or if we somehow know or have a good guess at where whatshisface will be, we go straight to cutting the head off the snake. It's probably a stupid idea but I am not a man known for amazing strategies. Idunno, just yeah..

>>33414445It depends on the result. If it's a total victory for them (unlikely), then yes catapults. If it's mixed success, then I'd push for a second round of attack. Don't let them rest.
>>33414476We've had partial or decent successes with shittier rolls. Remember Raian adds modifiers and our modifiers are quite good here since it's a straight-up assault.
>>33414479Same, if they hold us off it'll be by the skin of their teeth, we just have to keep up the pressure.
>>33414479We rolled pretty low for our river attack if I remember, I'm sure if we use some sort of plan of attack in our method of charging we'd be able to mitigate losses.Unfortunately there's not much to do with a siege.I suggest we attack from two sides. Don't split up our forces too heavily but keep our enemy a bit split up.
>>33414523Well, we outnumbered them more than 2 to 1 so splitting troops in two seems like a sound approach.
>>33414523Splitting up is a bad idea. It's easier to exploit breaches in their lines since the available frontage is limited. We just keep pouring men through the hole and surround their forces.
>>33414523So one army on one side and the other on the opposite side each penetrating the city from a different angle?
>>33414563>Implying 2 to 1 numbers matter in a siegeJesus christ do you even siege?
You give the order to attack, with Gao Shun leading the rams to the gates while the other generals attack the walls with siege ladders and supporting fire. Despite having suffered days of bombardment, the enemy forces fight back with everything they got to some impressive display. Siege ladders are broken and thrown back, and the first ram at the enemy gate is destroyed by large boulders being thrown down and fire arrows before much damage is done to the gates."When men are cornered, rats become tigers," Zhang Liao comments rubbing his beard. "I will go to the forefront and rally the men."Zhang Liao charges to the front lines, and yells for the soldiers to keep up their attack. He himself manages to go up the walls himself, killing a few enemy troops before being driven back down by troops from the other walls reinforcing. Gao Shun remains calm, as he sends another ram to hit the gates before it falls as well. The next few days see tenacious enemy defends, your forces only doing adequately because of the generals under your command. The gate to the city is battered, some of the walls show cracks. A thousand enemies have been killed, but a thousand on your side have been killed as well. It seems the repelling of your forces have slightly heightened the enemy forces.>Continue with another attack>other, write-in ploys

>>33414626We are probably closer to 3.5 to 1 at this point, I think. Not commenting on the strategy, just numbers. They started with 4000, lost few hundred to bombardments, lost another 1000 to our assault. We started with 10,000, lost 1000 to the assault.

Still attack from all sides but with us at the helm the defenders will try their damdest to kill us and call reinforcements from the other sides. If we purposely only attack with half heated effort at wall or two that may give them room to reroute men and give Zhang Liao an opening.
Hey, since things are different in these Three Kingdoms, does that mean that new people will rise up from footsoldierdom to become officers?Or is this just gonna be stuck to canon?

>>33414815MC needs his rival, so having an OC rival would make sense.

We have to make it seem like they're not trapped. Leave a big enough opening so that when the next assault starts, they have a choice between staying to fight or fleeing the city to safety.
>>33414957Forcing a breach at one point is far easier than trying for breaches at multiple points. They can defend the wall fully even while our attacks become weaker.

"We will give the enemy no quarter for rest. Continue the attacks. I will personally oversee the front myself. Men, charge the enemy once more! The first man to take the enemy flag will be rewarded ten households once we take Hui Ji!" The soldiers shout raising their weapons, and begin the attack again as you lead the men to the walls. Gao Shun once again leads the rams to the gates and keeps up his stoic, mannerly attacks. By hours in, the gate is broken down, and Gao Shun orders a fierce charge within the enemy lines. On your side, parts of the enemy walls slowly begin to break and your men continue your fierce attacks. On the second day, you lead a group of men and begin tunneling under a weakened section of the wall. After long hours, your soldiers manage to destroy a section of the wall and you order for men to pour in.Enemy forces fight with all they can, and they manage to drive your forces back barely. By the third day, only a thousand and few hundred remain on the enemy side. As you prepare for another attack to begin, seeing as how your forces can now charge through the gates and broken section of the wall, a couple riders come out from broken gates with white flags."Lord Wang Lang wishes to surrender!" one of the soldiers from the entourage state. His battered armor and dirtied face is indicative of how tired the other soldiers are in Hui Ji.

I surrender to your godlike might, and that of Governor Lu Bu's," Wang Lang states going to his knee. It could also make Wang Lang an enemy in the future, though he won't be a dangerous one. If we execute him, that may make enemies more reluctant to surrender in the future. Which could have rippling effect in our future conquests. All things considered, I think being considered soft-hearted and naive is better than the alternative. We are only 20 so this "hit" to our reputation can be remedied and it may even be beneficial to us in the future.

Yeah, after seeing what you guys have to say about it, I'm starting to think that execution would be better as well.... switching my vote to execution, but we treat his soldiers and his family well.
>>33415860>Keeping this shit alive>Not having him killed in secretdon't shove shit down my throat anon especially if its retarded.
>>33415868No, he's probably almost done writing a post where everyone tells us what a stupid thing we just did.

(Sorry, had to talk as mediator and work things out with friend and his girlfriend for half an hour from last week's incident)"I accept your seal of Hui Ji, but I refuse your enlistment to our ranks," you state firmly as you grab the seal with one hand. Wang Lang looks displeased for a moment, but quickly changes body language as to not offend you."You will be exiled from Yangzhou, but with all your possessions and family intact. If you so wish, our men will guard you along your travels back to the north and see you safely back to other lands."It takes a few seconds for Wang Lang to reply, but he bows in acceptance and the guards move him out of the palace. All of the officials have fled and the place is deserted. You are surprised however to see one man standing in a bowed position at the main hallway to the side.>Ask him who he is and why he's still here>Drive him out and secure the palace

You guys need to think a bit more.In the previous thread, we swore to our ranked officers that we would take Wang Lang's head. For us to reverse our decision, one that had been made in front of every named general for that matter-- that's a moment of capricious indecision. If we did that, then our generals would start doubting our capacity for leadership. If we took Wang Lang in, we'd have to worry about him plotting to betray us-- unless we go the Cao Cao route and shower him with honor and monies to make him happy.Best option here is to:>EXECUTE HIM

>>33416075Who are you? do you have a death wish?

Was a stronger case not enough to beat the samefagging?
>>33416075You can probably start writing now
>>33416131It always irritates me to no end, especially when I get Slowpoke'd.Again, I highly recommend that everybody read the Art of War and the Thirty-Six Strategems BEFORE posting in this thread. Half of the bad decisions comes from a lack of understanding 1st century Chinese military science and the other half from /tg/ herping-and-derping like a bunch of waifu-fags.
>>33416169Cao Cao wishes every enemy 'surrendered' to us like this assfuck did.
>>33416154No, the people who matter will think we killed him anyway. If we've exiled him just leave it at that.

>>33416183Jesus fucking christ, shut the fuck up about those idiotic books. They're not some sort of revealed wisdom.
>>33416075>Ask him who he is and why he's still hereAlso, Raian, during heated arguments where it's difficult to see what decision currently winning, it would be nice if you asked for a revote before putting pen to paper since some people may change their minds.
>>33416199how would they know? sure they will have suspicions but it could just as easily have been bandits or rogues after all these are dangerous times.
>>33416219>expecting raian to careOh man, you're new here.
>>33416219RAIAN PLS THIS
>>33416219The voting window is like 10 minutes and then QMs write. Most of the argument came after those 10 minutes.
>>33416259When was this stated?
>>33416219As somebody who voted exile, didn't change his mind and thinks all the people saying execute's argument was not sufficient . . .no. Exile had more votes and if it was the other way around and he asked for a revote you'd be mad about that. When your side is losing you don't become a whiny bitch for a recount to the Qm.I didn't want to do waifu shit and instead bro it up with the peasantry. The waifufags won. I grit my teeth and accepted that. Accept that he got exiled.
>>33416219Yeah, Raian.. this would really make the whole experience a lot better. I understand it must be annoying to write something, then have to start over after seeing that everyone has changed their minds, but... you'd do that for us right?Because you love us, right?....right?
>>33416219Also, it's not like this was a major decision. We can't be wasting so much time when it's a weekly quest anyway. >>33416271The first thread I believe
>>33416107We didn't make an honor bound oath on our name and family that we would see his wickedness ended no matter the cost etc etc. We said we'd have his head on a pike in the heat of battle. That we didn't execute him after he surrendered doesn't mean we don't take our word seriously, it simply indicates we aren't unreasonable and dislike executing enemies that surrender to us.That said I voted for execution anyway since the guy was a douche.
>>33416280Fuck that, that'll grind the quest down to a fucking halt.

Rolled 72>>33416341Read the later part of Wang Lang's life after he gets kicked out.
>>33416283I thought the first thread indicated he'd post every 30 minutes? Even with people changing their mind I'm fairly sure exile won votes anyway. Wanting a revote is just sour grapes. All we can do is accept the QMs decision and adjust how we vote as the quest goes on.
>>33416347Ah, that's right, we made sure we don't have to drink with that guy.
>>33416279I don't really care if this asshole lived or died, but it was clear that many people were changing their minds during the discussion.A simple consensus check really wouldn't hurt to have.
>>33416363It'd make the shufags cry, and we can't have that.
>>33416349I would really rather not use metaknowledge
It feels like this is many of your first quests or something. The standard voting window is 5-15 minutes for most quests. QMs need time to write too. They can't check over their shoulders every second and rewrite everything instantly. Honestly, final destination should only be used for Critical Fucking Decisions, and this probably wasn't one of them given the tone of Raian's post. Not to mention that final destination can be samefagged easily as well. This isn't unique to Three Kingdoms Quest either.
>>33416385>samefagged easily as well.How? Alt+0173 doesn't work anymore.
You move to the man and demand to know who he is."The other officials have fled, but you stand here as if defiant. Tell me your name and reason for keeping yourself here."The man keeps his bowed position, though he keeps himself poised firm and upright without hesitation. "I am Yu Fan, styled Zhongxiang. It seems I served an improper lord who would consort to allying himself with bandits. I advised Lord Wang Lang to surrender to avoid this inevitable loss, but alas, I was not listened to. Despite my mistakes, I am honor-bound to keep my duty to the end and keep my service to this city."You rub your chin, and question the man further."I have heard rumors of your talent and have also heard of the incident in regards to Wang Lang. What would you think of serving Lord Lu Bu?""If that is asked of me, I will do it. I am uncertain yet however that Lord Lu Bu will bring peace to the Southlands. He acted as a common bandits long before, and it is hard for a man to change his ways."You remain silent for a few seconds, contemplating the situation. >>33416515That's just the guy screaming about Shufags false flagging.
Reminder to not execute Yu Fan if he drops truth bombs on us when we do stupid things. Sun Quan almost killed Yu Fan in the middle of a banquet because he was so angry at his insults. Sun Quan had to create a policy to avoid any orders given while he was drunk because of Yu Fan.
>>33416418her him in to the force as an official.I don't know who this guy is, but if he's the strategist type and has that type of mouth, its better we get him while Lu Bu gets Chen Gong.

>>33416670The WAR phase of the campaign arc is over. Now comes the FarmVille arc; where we have to make nice, socialize, and consolidate our base of power so we don't get a peasant rebellion, assassination attempts, and the Sun family coming in and saying "Dafuq?" and dropping Cheng Pu on us for a rematch for the shit we dealt with in Thread #1.
>>33416672>>33416692I hope we can keep Gao Shun in our personal retinue. Zhang Liao's too high ranked and he's probably the next in line for a separate command.I think we impressed Gao Shun with our execution of the soldier and upholding of military law. He would be a very good second-in-command and would probably mesh okay with Yu Fan.
>>33416705I think governance and war are separate campaign types. Speaking of we need to spend a few actions just governing the shit out of our new lands.
>>33416705The campaign is over, now it's governing and building. We are going to personally duel Cheng Pu and take his head. I hope he remembers the minor captain who he insulted. Also that minor Sun general that we attacked in the first thread.

"Then we will make use of your talents. See for yourself how far Lord Lu Bu can take us, and the changes he can bring. The other generals and I here have followed him for good reason. See to it that you continue to allow the Southlands to prosper under your care, and I ask that you act as my personal adviser for the future.""As you command."With Yu Fan joining the force, the rest of the days is spent keeping Hui Ji orderly and the populace content. Yu Fan does a good job of advising you on what policies to enact and how to keep the people happy, though his strict nature and straight arrow attitude turns off some of the other officials that have served Lu Bu since his capture of Jian Ye. A couple forces are still sent to keep the peace and take control of the remaining Southlands. You hear news that Lu Bu has defeated Yan Baihu with resounding results. Taishi Ci managed to slay Yan Baihu's brother, Yan Yu in a duel, and during one charge, the Bandit King was personally killed by Lu Bu. With their leaders dead, the disorderly Shanyue were quickly defeated and decimated by Lu Bu's army. Chen Gong is said to have kept Lu Bu from pillaging and kept the people placated, creating strong unified territory on the eastern front. However, with still many different Shanyue tribes present, the campaign will take a few more months. In the north, Cao Cao defeats Li Jue and Guo Si who were feuding and has taken control of the Emperor. He has moved the Emperor and the capital to Xuchang and has solidified his position. Yuan Shao defeats Gongsun Zan and rives him back further north, and it is only a matter of time before Yuan Shao takes Hebei. With the southern campaign over, strong forces begin to rise. Lu Bu in the south has no doubt caught the attention of the other lords.(Lead +7, War +2, Int +2, Pol +3, Cha +2)
>>33416779Oh yeah, that reminds me, Empress Himiko of Wa develops a crush on Cao Cao sometime soon. We should build up Zhu Yang's charisma and ambition to make him able to woo her so we can get Wa's resources and harassment on Wei territory.

>>33416847Celebratory feast (like everyone else has said we promised Song Xian so lets make good on it).>>33416886YEP. Let's not get our new adviser into death's easy reach.>>33416889This but leave behind Song Xian with Gao Shun. Two generals for defense and two back home (well three if you include us).
>>33416847It's time to finally fucking dump Lingqi.>Stay: Gao Shun, Lu Lingqi, Yu Fan>Return: Zhang Liao, Song Xian>throw a celebratory feast for the officers
>>33416943>implying they don't get equipment bonuses. Theres will be higher, if anything.
>>33416955>Stay:Lu Lingqi
>>33416955>Not bringing Linqui see her father. You trying to get us fucked over?
>>33416968He wants to be forever alone, just like irl.
>>33416957Exactly, especially if climb higher we could potentially get god-tier equipment like GREEN DRAGON CRESCENT BLADE CLEAVE AND SMITE
>>33416892No, it isn't. overchi awful.
Gao Shun and Yu Fan confirmed for staying. Do people want Song Xian to stay? Lingqi can stay, but I sincerely doubt the majority want that.
>>33416957So they are on par with us. All these veteran, renowned generals. On par with a 21 year old who's fought in 3-4 campaigns.>>33416968Anti-waifuism gone full retard. I don't care about waifus, but not bringing Lingqi back to her father is a stupid move.
>>33416955How about we dump her with Lu Bu?
>>33416988yeah me neither but this is full retard
>>33416982I'm going to go with No. Remember Song Xian isn't upstanding, he's going to conflict with Gao Shun and Yu Fan.
>>33416982Let's bring Song Xian and Linqi.
>>33416847>Yu Fan and Guo San stay>Song Xian, Lu Lingqi, and Zhang Liao go
And as stated, Lu Bu still needs to pacify the Shanyue some more. Lu Bu will not be at Jian Ye.
>>33416982No to Song Xiang
>>33416982Song Xian Linqi come with us
>>33416982No just those two. Song Xian will clash too much with the others.
>>33416982No, don't let him stay. Bring him with us.
>mfw we get rectum ravaged by a triple combo of Guo Jia, Jia Xu and Zhuge Liang>but at least we have 90+ war and married lingqi
>>33416982I think we need to leave at least one more general behind and since Lu Bu prob- >>33417012Leave Linqi behind.
>>33416982Song Xian and Lingqi come with us.
>>33417012Even so I am comfortable with >>33417010 these choices
>>33416982People are just butt hurt about Linqi.I say take her, she's not as important as the our officers but she is a potential baby maker which means extra lives. Also our character is in his early 20's now and we haven't made progress on courting any other women. Song Xian is a bad match for Gao Shun and Yu fan in my opinion so I vote he comes with us.
>>33416982We bring Song Xian with us and definitely Lingqi, not for waifu reasons mind you, but because Lu Bu will impale us with his spear once he learns we left his daughter behind.
>>33416982Leave song xian.Gao shun will need a sub commander.
>>33417012>Lu Bu will not be at Jian Ye.warning bells anyone?
>>33416847>feast with officers>have that drink with Song Xian like we promised
>>33416990I'd rather we go wtih this.
>>33417028>Implying Zhuge Liang would work with Guo Jia and Jia Xu>Implying we won't accidentally roll terribly in diplomacy roll and Lu Bu won't cleave Zhuge Liang in half>Implying we won't pick up Zhuge's wife as our concubine >Implying we won't steal his kettle
>>33417012Then why not send Linqi as reinforcements for Lord Lu Bu?
>>33417068>Kettle has +50 to Int
>>33417041What warning bells? Explain.
>>33417087Maybe Lu Bu will come to Hui Jitopkek
>>33417074So we bring her with us first.
Guys wait we have ONE MORE GENERAL!Who's the guy who said he'd serve us after we beat Wang Lang? Have him stay behind with Gao Shun.
>>33417068>>Implying we won't accidentally roll terribly in diplomacy roll and Lu Bu won't cleave Zhuge Liang in half>>Implying we won't pick up Zhuge's wife as our concubineVery ok with these two outcomes. Yueying could make us some Juggernauts.
>>33417068I'm getting tired of the relationship with lingqi basically not advancing at all, even now that we've put turns into it. I might give her one more shot, but after that I'll just stop caring.
>>33417104Fa Neng rite?
>>33417104YES GENIUS.how could we have forgotten?!This, definitely this.
>>33417087Lu bu isn't at Jian Ye, yet Chang gong is I smell a plot.
>>33417108>wanting a landwhale as a concubineISHYGDDT
>>33417104Oh fuck, Fan Neng.Yeah, he stays by default. He's a native Southlander anyway. Now I feel fucking guilty.
>>33417104Anon, you are a smart man.Fan neng will work well with yu fan. Together, they'll keep the peace.
>>33416982Bring them. Song's gonna do whatever we tell him to do-- within reason, now that we're on a better relationship level with him.Lingqi needs to go where her father could need her. Filial piety and respect, yo. >Anti-waifuism gone full retard. I don't care about waifus, but not bringing Lingqi back to her father is a stupid move.Say Lu Bu is dying/mortally wounded and wants to see everyone he loves and/or holds dear to his heart. Nobody would want to suffer a curse if his dying wish wasn't carried out.
>>33417104Oh, yeah. He stays.
>>33417110Raian does seem to be firmly in the anti-lingqi camp.
>>33417104>>33417134Yup, he seemed like a honorable type. Gao Shun in charge of military, Yu Fan in charge of domestic policies, and Fan Neng as Gao's deputy.
>>33417104OH FUCK THIS!
>>33417110I'm not one of the guys gunning for her with everything, but we /have/ made progress with her. Y'all are just impatient as shit. Lead and Govern when needed then take some time to woo when things aren't as pressing. We haven't even known her for a year yet and everyone wants to be at the lovey dovey stage.
>>33417110There's no reason not to bring her though, Jian Ye is closer to inevitable battle with Sun Ce/Yuan Shu and we could use good fighting officers.
>>33417110Every conversation except the last one has made progress.
>>33416982Bring Song Xian with us.
I wonder if He Qi is recruitable. The generals that stay behind should keep a look out for men of talent.
>>33417147Don't put words in his mouth. He elevated our relationship status with Lingqi despite us spaghetting all over the place all the time. We have some impatient players in this quest.
>>33417152Seconded.
>>33417158>not even that good a friend-zoned>progressA year without even a hint of romantic attraction is a bad sign.
>>33417104Oh yeah, Fan Neng!
>>33417147Source Citation: Thread #2 where he dropped Cai Wenji in our laps.Truth be told, Wenji would've been a great waifu. But nooooo, everybody wants Lingqi as 1st Wife instead of 2nd Wife because of Prestige stuff. It's like playing Crusader Kings II with a bunch of full-on autists.
>>33417166Are you the other He Qi bro from the last thread? Because I'm with you.
>>33417169>one upgrade to relationship>have been trying to get her attention for 9 threadsI can tell where this is going.
So here's some people in RTKXI with the same stats as us.LDR: Sun Shang Xiang, Bao Sanniang, Cao Rui,WAR: Zhang Bao (Son of Zhang Fei), Deng Ai, Dong ZhuoINT: Pang De, Yuan Shao, Gongsun ZanPOL: Zu MaoCHR: Xu Zhu
>>33417186Xiong di.We're leaving the territory for quite some time so I was hoping we could nab him.
>>33417189>LDR: Sun Shang Xiang, Bao Sanniang,So we need to commit suicide is what you're saying?
>>33417189Wow, we're ONLY on par with one of the most ridiculously competent and successful Wei generals in terms of War?
>>33417182> Cai Wenjishe's in the Wei camp now bro, though I'm not adversed Ravaging just about every waifuable character because concubines by right of conquest are a thing
>>33417207IT gets worse. We have the same combat ability as the fat fuck dongs.
>>33417186Neutral-Acquainted-Friendly Also, I maintain that 9 threads is nothing.>>33417189It's almost like you cherry picked the worst possible matches for us. Except for Deng Ai and Pang De, they are cool.
>>33417174Hey, at least we're faring better then Zhou Xin.
>>33417189>>33417207Well, those two ladies got trained by the best generals in their respective courts. We're doing this thing called "on the job training".
>>33417152Sounds good to me. >>33417166I agree with looking for men of talent to bolster our ranks.
>>33417216Yeah, sudoku is the only answer.
>>33417182You don't marry someone when you just met them that day!
>>33417219top kek
>>33417218Feel free to maintain whatever you like. Over here in reality, 9 threads over the course of 2 RL months and 4? years in-game is a lot.
>>33417213That's not going to happen until 196 AD, when Cao Cao kicks the shit out of Li Jue and Guo Si before bringing the Han Court to Xu Chang. We still got 4 years to reclaim Chang An before Cao Cao does.
You throw a feast before you depart to Jian Ye, deciding to take Lingqi, Zhang Liao, Song Xian, and with you while Yu Fan remains to govern the lands and Gao Shun and Fan Neng to safeguard from rebels and bandits. Warm fires are placed in the hallway of the governmental palace, and a large table is of roasting pig and dumplings are placed. The other officers arrive, and seat themselves. You have the option to give praises and make someone the honored guest for the occasion.>choose someone to be the MVP
>>33417258>Zhang Liao
>>33417216He was kinda badass in Ravages, though it was more of a "Sheeit, he's tyrannical" sort of badass.
>>33417189> CHR: Xu Zhu
>>33417258Gao shun. His charges and assaults have been the keystone in our campaign.
>>33417258Gao Shun. He's a super-god-tier bro for that balls to the wall crazy pincer cavalry maneuver during the river crossing battle.
>>33417258>Gao ShunNot even letting this be a fight.
>>33417258Gao SHun
>>33417254Anon it's already happened >>33416826>In the north, Cao Cao defeats Li Jue and Guo Si who were feuding and has taken control of the Emperor. He has moved the Emperor and the capital to Xuchang and has solidified his position. Yuan Shao defeats Gongsun Zan and rives him back further north, and it is only a matter of time before Yuan Shao takes Hebei.
How can Gao Shun be the honored guest for the occasion if he's not even there.
>>33417258Gao Shun Though Zhang Liao gets a very strong honorable mention
>>33417258Hmm I'm uncertain on who the MVP should be. Linqi does deserve praise but she wasn't MVP. That's probably between Gao Shun and Zhang Liao
>>33417258Gao Shun.
>>33417258>>Gao Shun or Zhang LiaoThese guys have been awesome this entire campaign.
>>33417258>Everyone >Gao shun if I have to be specific
>>33417258Gao Shun
>>33417307How can we even be hosting the feast if we aren't there?
>>33417307>>33417311Wait shit. If we can't pick someone who's not here. Then I default to Zhang Liao, otherwise Gao Shun is the true MVP.
>>33417258Gao shun. But make sure to praise everyone in turn.Everyone has played critical roles in this campaign.Fa neng for his good advice, lingqi for her heroism in the river crossing battle, song xian for holding the line in the face of overwhelming odds, zhang liao for leading the assaults on the walls. All have made great contributions, without them, our losses would have been heavy.
>>33417334>>33417331This is the feast in Huiji, not Jianye.
>>33417258Gao Shun, no contest.DON'T FORGET THE DRINK WITH SONG XIAN.
>>33417334We're throwing the party before we leave so Gao Shun will be there.
>>33417306Things are moving much quicker than in real life and I'm not sure why. Isn't 193? Gongsun Zan's not supposed to die for another six years.
>>33417307>>33417334Ugh, misread things terribly.>You throw a feast before you depart to Jian YeSo Gao Shun still, not Zhang Liao
Rolled 83>>33417337Thiiiiis
>>33417337This. Absolutely give everyone their due praise.
>>33417337Yeah this guy has it. We praise everyone but Gao Shun is MVP
>>33417258Gao Shun. Everybody deserves praise for their efforts though, see >>33417337Make sure we have that drink with Song Xian.
>>33417357Gongsung Zan is still hanging in there.>Yuan Shao defeats Gongsun Zan and rives him back further north, and it is only a matter of time before Yuan Shao takes Hebei.Though not for long, so you are right.
>>33417337THIS THIS THIS!
>>33417357>I'm not sure whyRaian wants us to fight big boys right now instead of giving us time to consolidate our power.
>>33417357We need an update on Xu. Who has it, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, or Tao Qian?
>>33417393Tao Qian before the war with Wang Lang. Cao Cao and Liu Bei split Xu at that time.
>>33417306>>33417357Fuck, we fucked with the timeline and the True History route is no more.IF Route confirmed. Hold on to your butts, boys, 'cause it's going to hurt when Cao Cao decides to sail south and kick our shit.... fuck, Wu's Navy was the only reason why Cao Cao's forces never made it across the Yangtze River.Welp, we've screwed the pooch. I'm thinking we should've stayed in Xuchang back in one of the earlier threads instead of coming down to the Southlands.
>>33417382I'm fairly sure the "big boy" is going to be Yuan Shao.Cao Cao's not going to focus on Wu-Bu because of Yuan Shao and Northern Plains. Besides, there's Zhang Xiu and other distractions to deal with. Yuan Shu might or might not have the imperial seal, but he's a danger and a neighbor. He also has the Sun Clan.Liu Biao and Jing province is our ally so we do have a fairly strong ally and connection to Imperial Courts right now. >>33417393Tao Qian is dead, Cao Cao and Liu Bei had split it when we left for the South.
>>33417393Can anyone update that map we had before, with all the different regions filled in to indicate who was in control of them?
>>33417413I don't think so. We just need to keep the Liu Clan as our allies and make sure they don't surrender to Cao Cao. This should be easier since their allies control Wu and not their blood enemies. If we can absorb Yuan Shu's land, then we should be a match for Cao Cao. Particularly since Cao Cao is still outnumbered by Yuan Shao at this time. Ma Teng might also be a strong, but distant ally.
Hey, when we ask Song Xiang about that drink, we should go, "I know I said we'd do this when we had that filth's head, though I hope you'll forgive me, hahaha." Might show him that we do consider him some.
>>33417457Ma Teng might still die just like in True History if the whole plot to assassinate Cao Cao via poison delivered by the Court Physician fails.Good lord, trying to plan a few moves ahead like in chess is giving me a headache.
So I brought this up in the last thread but what are we going to use for our style name? We can name ourselves, but we can also just leave it to one of our elders. You think Lu Bu will give us a cool style name?
