"...Me and Satsuki, we... killed this timeline's Ragyou. I suggested it, because I wanted to spare you guys all that trouble and grief. Turns out I fucked it up even more, because... the other Satsuki ended up involuntarily taking her place."

Satsuki approaches you, and puts a hand on your back. "Ryuuko... I told you already, it's not your fault. We had no idea this would happen."

"What? How did she "take her place"?", the other you asks, utterly confused.

"Every Kiryuuin family head receives an artifact known as the Heirloom from their predecessor.", Satsuki explains. "It grants them immense power, but significantly shortens their lifespan, due to what Ragyou believed to be a design flaw. Her quest to fix that flaw is what turned her into the ruthless monster she is... was. With her dying breath, she transferred the Heirloom to the other Satsuki, who now has to carry this burden."

"Wow. I won't lie, you really did fuck up.", the other you says. "But... it's like Eyebrows here says, it wasn't your fault. The way I see it, that Ragyou chick was just a tenacious bitch, forcing her daughter to carry on her mommy's legacy."

Satsuki raises her... "Eyebrows?"

You let out a weak chuckle. "They do stand out."

You straighten out, and look at the other Ryuuko. "...To think I initially intended to cheer you up. Guess you turned the tables on me."

"Then, you need to change your drive.", Satsuki says.

"Change my drive?"

"Yes. You are driven by anger over your father's death, are you not? You need to reforge that anger into determination, the resolve to bring the killer to justice."

The other Ryuuko tilts her head. "Uhh... I'll give it some thought. I really need to think right now, about a lot of things. Give me some time."

You nod. "Sure. You probably want to talk to Senketsu alone, too. We'll see you later."

"Wait.", she says, as you both turn to leave. "Where can I find you?"

"Right now, Student Council chambers.", Satsuki says. "We were invited as guests. Although, we can't be sure if that won't change soon. We'll to keep you informed."

You leave Mako's house. This took you a while, and went differently than you initially planned. Still, it wasn't so bad.

You sigh. "So, what now? We'll have to talk to them, won't we?"

"Inevitably. It's probably best to get it out of the way as soon as possible. We still need to decide what to do, and how to do it, and it would be unwise to make plans without knowing our footing."

They immediately charge at you, their weapons at the ready. And you stand still.

You break multiple bones, get thrown around, kicked, punched, and blasted with a Life Fiber-disrupting sound wave. It hurts, but you don't really mind. You need to get literally beat up for what you've done, so that you can stop figuratively beating yourself up over it.

After a while, the barrage of attacks stops. You remain on the floor with your eyes closed. You don't feel like seeing your bones rearrange and reassemble themselves, though you can still hear it.

"They're not reacting at all. Did we kill them?", Nonon asks.

"No, they're still alive. With the kind of injuries they've sustained, I suspect they will be incapacitated for weeks, however.", Inumuta says.

"Still, why did they just stand there and take it?", Sanageyama wonders. "They didn't even say anything. I didn't sense an intent to move by even an inch from either of them."

An unpleasant crack sound informs you your bones are all in place again. You're still sore from the sound wave, but that's the only injury remaining. You open your eyes, and get up, dusting yourself off.

"That's because we deserved it.", you say.

"And you deserved to carry it out.", Satsuki adds.

The Devas look at you in shock.

"H-how is this possible? With that amount of damage, a human body should be unable to move!" Inumuta starts frantically looking through the data in his PDA.

A human body, yeah. Not your bodies, though. Should you tell them about it? Judging by their reaction, they already know what happened to Satsuki, so this shouldn't be a huge surprise. The additional implications of it are the problem, though.

With a fair bit of effort involved, the two of you pierce through the Original Life Fiber's outer layer, and make it to what appears to be the center. It's unbearably hot in here, and the air is heavy.

In the middle of the chamber, is a large glowing orb. It's connected to the rest of the structure with thick pillars of thread, resembling arteries. It doesn't pulsate, but this must be the "heart".

"So, this is what we're after?", you ask.

Satsuki nods. "It would appear so."

You approach one of the arteries, and sever it with Jiyuuzan easily. Thing is, it almost immediately regenerates. Figures, those Life Fibers must be powerful, like the ones in your body.

You draw your Scissor Blade, and attempt to cut the pillar again, this time with both blades, making sure they come as close as possible. It takes a second longer, but the fibers regenerate yet again.

"What the hell?! Satsuki, those things just refuse to get cut!"

"So I've noticed. We'll have to try something else."

"If I may, milady.", Junketsu interjects. "I believe those are pipes transmitting energy from the core to the rest of the body. With huge amounts of power passing through them, it's no wonder they regenerate so easily."

"...When did you get smart?", you ask.

Satsuki smirks. "When he evolved into a flying configuration to help me save your life, after you jumped off the highest building in Osaka, for some reason."

"We don't talk about that!" You sigh. "What are we supposed to do, then?"

"If the pipes are out of the question, all that's left is the core.", Senketsu says. "I would assume it's like a Nexus Thread in Life Fiber clothing - it has a tough shell, but is vulnerable inside."

"Sounds good."

You approach the core, and experimentally strike at it. Jiyuuzan and the Scissor Blade bounce off harmlessly. That won't do.

"I think we'll need to force the blades through this shell, as opposed to simply cutting it.", Satsuki suggests. "We'll have to do it at the same time."

"Yeah. Let's do this!"

Your Kamui maximize the output of their rockets, and you feel enormous thrust. Hopefully, this will be enough to cut through this thing.

"Touché." He smokes in silence for a while, before looking ahead. "...You have a plan, right?"

"Huh?" You direct your gaze ahead, to see that... you're about to collide with the island.

"...You want me to change the engine's thrust vector? This isn't a plane, you know."

"Right now, we need it to be one! Do whatever you can, and do it fast!"

The engine suddenly stops, before exploding. Well, almost. Ludicrous amounts of energy are released from the back of the ship, causing her to take to the sky. You and Tsumugu, the only ones remaining on the bridge, almost fall over, desperately clutching to a railing.

"Could use a seatbelt now.", you say. "Or a seat, at least."

For a brief moment, it feels like the ship has stopped. That is, until her bow tilts downwards, and the massive vessel starts plummeting.

Tsumugu is standing completely petrified, his hands locked on the safety railing. You've never seen him this terrified before.

"Look on the bright side, Tsumugu! We're falling straight towards the transmitter!"

You should be frozen in terror yourself, but all you can bring yourself to do is grin like a madman. This is your plan. And it's working. The ship tears straight through the transmitter, before making contact with the ground. Feels a bit odd.
