Characters and Gunpla: http://pastebin.com/d8tmxwqk

You are JACK FOULKE, an amateur Gunpla Fighter with dreams to make your own mark on the Gunpla battle scene!

With the recent defeat of the Mole Rats Gunpla team, your own team has now shot up to ninth place in the school rankings, which put you that much closer to your confrontation with the Gunpla Club.

However, now was not the time to worry about that.

Because it was the goddamn weekend and the last thing you wanted to worry about was crap related to school! The problem was, what were you going to do?

Well, you could always figure a way to get some more cash or Bandai Points. You really need to keep your GM ahead of the game. You try to think of possible methods.

You could always try to bum some cash off Dad, either by begging him or through errands or something like that.

You also heard about "underground" Gunpla battle rings where battlers could bet money or points on matches. Well, you could consider doing something like that.

And, well, there was the really tough option. Selling off one of your show models for more resources...

>Ask Dad

Either one or both. If they're just show pieces then they really don't mean much for battling. Plus you can always rebuild at a later date.

Well, you suppose there's always the tried and true method of begging your parents. You knew that there was no way in hell Mom would indulge you in your hobby, so your best bet was appealing to Dad. You find him in his study, where he usually spent his weekends these days as he casually reads the paper.

"Something I can do for you, son?" He asks as he sees you approach.

"Um, Dad, I was wondering if I could, uh, borrow some money or something.

"Girlfriend?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Gunpla." You sigh.

"Ah." He nods "Start to battle seriously?"

"How did you know?" You blink.

"Holly talks a lot." Dad shrugs. "I'd be more than glad to give you some extra spending money to keep your Gunpla up to date. However, I actually need you to do one thing for me."

Wonderful.

"What do you want me to do?" You ask warily.

"Well..." Dad gets up and leans in conspiratorially. "I heard Greco Logan himself is in town for the American World Tournament qualifiers. Now, your mother would have my head if she found out I went out to get an autograph, but if you and Holly went..."

"So you basically want me to get Greco Logan's autograph for you." You roll your eyes.

"Your Mother won't ask questions if you're going. Plus, Holly needs to spend more time out of the house anyways." Dad puts his hands on your shoulders. "Can you do this for me, son?"

"How much are we talking about, here?" You ask.

"I can give you enough for about 5000 Bandai Points." He says.

So what are your opinions of a Beam Smart Gun?
Pros:
>Just point it in the general direction of the enemy, fire and let the computer do the work aiming
> Allows Dakka for a brief moment at full power

Cons:
>Requires a stupid amount of energy (Could be mitigated by Balls and GM using their GN Drive, but forces the Balls to stay with the suit)
>Quite unwieldy (Also could be aided with Balls to help move the gun around)
>>
>>33350327
too unwieldly for our general build.
>>
>>33350327
I like it
>>
>>33350327
You also need to mention that the power output is proportional to how many GN Drives are attached to it at a time.

I guess we could add some beam reflector dishes...
>>
>>33350327
It only drains huge amounts of energy on full power. It can do lower-powered shots, too. It's still probably too bulky for our build, though. Maybe instead do a scatter beam cannon? Same effect, more compact, just has shorter range.
>>
>>33350160
"It's a deal." You nod. "I suppose you have a way of actually getting us to him?"

"I'll throw in some extra money for tickets." He says. "Enough for you and Holly. You can probably bring some of your friends too, if you want."

"All right." You say, taking a handful of bills from him. "So, I get the autograph, and the money's mine?"

"As agreed."

"And you wonder why Mom doesn't trust you with money." You laugh.

"Come on, son, you of all people should know that Gunpla is a hobby that transcends worldly concerns like finances!" Dad says proudly.

"Uh huh. Try saying that to Mom." You chuckle before making your exit. Well, Holly was definitely going to be coming along. Maybe you want to bring some more company?

Meh, The Jesta is about a meter and a half bigger then our current juggler, and the Zeta+ isnt much bigger then that. It would come down to positioning probably. Might even be able to scratch up a scaled down version from something too.

You take out your phone and quickly dial Mac's number. If you were going to go see Greco Logan, you might as well bring Mac along. God knows, if you didn't, and he found out about it, he'd never stop giving you shit about it.

"Hey, Jack, what's up?" Mac says as he picks up the phone.

"Yo, Mac. Me and Holly were going to go check out the World Tourney qualifiers, and we heard Greco Logan was going to be there, too. Wanna come along?"

"HELL YES I DO!" Mac says a bit too loudly. "Hold on, I'll be right at your house!"

There's another click as he hangs up, and you can't help but chuckle. Mac was a huge fan of Logan, who was generally considered the face of American Gunpla. Hoo boy, you remember how pissed he was when Nils Nielsen blew him out in the final qualifying round a few years ago.

You head up to Holly's room and knock on the door.

"Yeah?" Holly says when she opens her door.

"Get dressed, Holly. We're going out." You say. "We're going to go watch the WT qualifiers."

"Aw, can't we like, just watch it online?" Holly says.

"Holly." You shake your head. "You're going out of the house one way or another."

"NEVER!" Holly shuts the door. "I wanna work on my Balls!"

"Holly, you better open that door before I KICK it down!" You holler.

"You won't do it! Mom and Dad will get mad!" You hear Holly retort from behind her door.

"Mom and Dad will let me get away with anything if it involves getting you outside!" You respond, winding up your foot. "So are you going to come out willingly like the good little sister you are or am I gonna have to kick this damn door down?"

"Fiiiiiine!" Holly opens the door. "I was gonna work on my new Ball today, too!"

"Aw, come on, you'll love seeing the qualifiers in person!" You try to assure her. "And hey, we can even go and see Greco Logan!"

"Meh." Holly shrugs. "Does he use Balls?"

"Holly, only you use Balls."

"Then he's nothing special!"

"Honestly." You shake your head.

"Yo! Jack! Holly!" You see Mac wave at you as he strides down the street.

"Oh, hi, Mac." Holly waves back a bit half hardheartedly. "Did Jack rope you into this, too?"

"Hey, I am totally stoked for this!" Mac grins. "I mean, THE Greco Logan in the flesh!"

"But in his whole career, he's never actually made it past the qualifiers." Holly points out. "What does everybody love him so much?"

"Hey! World Tournament performance isn't everything!"

The three of you hop a bus that will take you the the local stadium, where the qualifiers are being held. It shouldn't take long to get there, especially with the lighter weekend traffic.

"Jeez, what's with that attitude she's got?" Mac sighs as he leans back in his seat. Holly was safely out of earshot, distracted as she was playing with some sort of game on her phone. "She's never like this on the way to school."

"Well, she actually doesn't like leaving the house when she doesn't have to." You shrug. "She pretty much spends all her weekends cooped up at home and doesn't like it when other people try to force her out."

"Like we're doing right now." Mac sighs.

"Pretty much."

"Anyways, it looks like Logan's going to be the last match of the day." Mac frowns as he looks up the schedule on his phone. "Oh, OH. Looks like your girlfriend is gonna be there, too."

"Hold on. Let's see if Charlotte can get us in." You say, dialing your phone. Unfortunately, it goes straight to voicemail. Guess you shouldn't be surprised that she'd turn her phone off for an event like this. "Well, that's a bust."

"So then what do we do?" Mac asks.

"Hmmmm." You glance over at the entrance to the fighters' lounge and see only a single guard there. Technically, it wasn't even an actual guard, just one of the stadium staff. He doesn't really scrutinize anybody passing through, either.

"I think we can bluff this guy." You say.

"What about getting Holly through?" Mac asks.

"There's almost no age restriction for the World Tournament." You remind him. "It's not uncommon for middle and even grade school kids to make the cut."

"That sounds crazy enough to work." Mac frowns.

"You guys are so dumb." Holly rolls her eyes. "But I guess I can go along with it. Maybe I'll be able to see some cool Gunpla out of hit."

"That's the spirit, Holly!" You smile as you ruffle her hair. "Remember, the trick is all in your body language and how you carry yourself. You BELONG here. As long as you believe that, anybody you looks at you will believe it, too."

"All right." Mac takes a deep breath. "I think I'm ready."

"Let's get this over with." Holly says.

The three of you try to causally pass by the guard. However, as you pass by him, you can already seem him turning to track you. Yeah, you were totally made.

"Hey, wait a minute!" The guard shouts. "Where are your badges?"

"Aw shoot, you know what? I totally forgot to bring my badge in today!" You say in an attempt to bluff the guard. Maybe you can fool him into thinking you're supposed to be here. "Come on, can't you just let a guy through? I don't want to have to run all the way back to the hotel to get it. I got a match to get to, you know!"

"Ummmm..." The guard pauses, wondering what to do.

"Is something the matter here?" You hear a deep, gruff voice speak up.

"Oh, um, nothing's wrong here, sir!" The guard stammers and quickly waves the three of you through. "Just making sure everything's fine here, that's all!"

"Mhm." The source of the voice, a rather large, middle aged man nods. "Well, if there are no problems..."

"None at all!" The guard says. "Please, go on through!"

You manage to get a bit deeper into the hall when Holly finally speaks up.

"Hey, Mr, why did you help us out back there?" She asks.

"Oh, well, I can't just stand by and not assist fellow Gunpla fans!" The man chuckles.

Huh, he looks kinda familiar, like you've seen him somewhere before...

"Sorry, I didn't catch your name." You say.

"Ah, how rude of me!" He chortles. "You can just call me Ral. Mr. Ral."

"Wait... Ral..." You mumble before your eyes light up in recognition. "HOLY SHIT YOU'RE THE BLUE GIANT!"

"Wait, is he?" Mac takes one more look at Ral and you swear to god he squeals. "HOLY SHIT HE IS!"

"Ah, so I see my reputation reaches to America as well." Mr. Ral laughs.

"Ah, who is he?" Holly tugs at your sleeve.

"Only one of the most legendary Gunpla fighters to ever exist!" You explain to her. "Mr. Ral, aka, the Blue Giant, known for piloting a Gouf and recognized as one of the most powerful fighters of all time!"

"Oh, please, that was years ago. I'm merely a simple Gunpla fan now." Mr. Ral smiles warmly. "Though it is nice to see that America has fans like you who are enthusiastic about Gunpla."

Jesus christ this was literally turning out to be the best day EVER.
