You are Christopher Phillips, previously just another teenage nerd living in a small English town, and a lot of things have changed in your life since you died.

This is, unfortunately, not something you can easily explain to your parents. ‘I died about a month back’ is a pretty big line to try and sell to anyone when you’re walking about and able to speak and say things like ‘I died about a month back’, but it’s even harder when you’re trying to explain it to people who’ve seen you every day for the aforementioned month. Oh, and the magic. The magic is going to be kind of tricky to explain too.

You could just make something up. Your parents want an explanation for all the bizarre things that have been happening lately, you could spin them an elaborate tale of, like, organised crime and special effects and so on. You’re not the greatest liar in the world - half-truths and careful manipulation are more your forte, and you’re definitely going to have to out and out lie quite a lot to make this even vaguely hold water - but when the other explanation is ‘magic’, it might be easier for them to swallow.

One thing you’re fairly sure you can’t do is just dodge the question again, unfortunately. Too much has happened to just brush under the metaphorical rug. Your family demands answers. What will you give them?

[]The truth. As much of it as possible. They deserve to know.
[]A very carefully edited version of the truth. Magic is real, magical stuff is happening, you’re safe now. No need to frighten them too much.
[]Make up something convincing-sounding about gangs and criminals and stuff. Scary, sure, but less scary than ‘magic is real’, right?

Leave out the bit where we're a rapist, though.

You decide to give them the truth, the whole truth (well, nearly), and nothing but the truth (more or less). Not that you're lying to them or anything, just that there's one or two bits you don't really need to bring up. Not to your parents.

It's a lot for them to take in, and you're not entirely sure how much they believe - your power reserves are pretty much tapped out, to the point where all you can show off is some impressive martial arts, which are certainly hard to explain but not quite as dramatically unnatural as you'd like - but enough bizarre things have happened lately that they don't just dismiss you out of hand as having gone mad. Your death is the hardest part for them to take - you edit out some of the details of your death and resurrection, putting it down to a simple accident and making a point of your immediate return to life, but your mother still looks about ready to faint.

There's an almost tangible tension in the air as you finish. It hangs in the air for a moment before your father ostentatiously clears his throat.

"Well, this is... quite a lot to take in. Quite a bit to think over. Yes. I think we'd better think on this for a while and come back to it at a later time." He takes your mother's hand and they walk to the stairs. As your father starts to head upstairs, your mother stops and turns back to you.

"Please, just be safe, my darling. Whatever happens with all of this... stuff, look after yourself, please?"

Your breath catches in your throat for a moment. "I'll try, Mum. I'll try."

She smiles sadly, and turns to follow your father upstairs without another word.

It's getting quite late. Is there anything else you want to do tonight, or shall we skip to the morning?

And then, Chris was taken to a mental hospital and was enver seen again. The End.

Wait, how did our sister take the news?

Also, if anyone still thinks going after Avril right is even remotely a good idea:
>your power reserves are pretty much tapped out, to the point where all you can show off is some impressive martial arts
We've got no juice, and her tank's completely topped off. Trying to fight her right now is just plain stupid, regardless of any other arguments concerning our relationship. So let's get done some things that we can do, like making sure that Masami wants to stay on the surface.

Yep, I agree, though I'd much rather take the less aggressive path to repairing/creating a new relationship with Avril.

>Wait, how did our sister take the news?
((Oh, sorry. She's still a fairly young kid, so magic being real is just natural to her - it's one of those "Yes! I knew it!" moments. She got sent upstairs as soon as the story started getting darker and more disturbing, and missed the stuff about you dying and coming back, and the horrible demon thing you fought.))

Oh, do'nt worry, we are waiting for the magic fuel to refill.

You pull yourself out of bed on Monday morning, feeling oddly drained. There's no school, but your body is nevertheless insisting on waking you up at the usual time and won't let you get back to sleep, so you flick around the local news and your social networks, trying to see what people make of the odd evacuation. 'Bureaucratic incompetence' seems to be at the top of the list, although there's a vocal segment suspecting that it's a publicity stunt for some new film. No explanation of how exactly a film marketing company would persuade the local government to evacuate an entire town just for PR purposes, but no-one likes to let facts get in the way of a good story. And there's the usual conspiracy nuts chalking everything up to aliens or Satanists or heretics or whatever.

You pause for a moment to consider whether you actually count as an alien, a heretic or a Satanist, and decide that none of them quite fit. You're probably technically an apostate, since Jesus' "dying and rising again" bit no longer seems all that impressive, but you've yet to see a post blaming apostates for the chaos, so you're probably home free.

You spend the next few hours milling about on the computer, trying to avoid facing your parents, until lunchtime forces you into proximity again.

Over lunch, however, your father informs you that he's contacted the travel agency and checked on the tickets, and they turn out to be both valid and flexible. There's some tearful goodbyes and repeated hugs, and your father's gruff reminder that 'when we get back, we're having a talk about this magic business'. All in all, though, you breathe a small sigh of relief when your parents and your sister turn the corner and drive away towards the nearest airport. A week of freedom. A week of no oversight. A week with the house all to yourself.

What now?

>What now?
Check in on Masami, try to fix her shit.

Rape Isabella.

Don't actually do that.

>Check in on Masami, try to fix her shit.
also keep and eye out for Jill, we still gotta talk to her after all this shit
>>
>>33280773
Start planning that party.
With our tank empty we really can't do much.
>>
>>33280773
Call up Masami, ask her how things are going, subtly ask if she's seen Jill or Avril around.

We should put together that victory party for the Hunters, even if it was mostly us that won the victory.

Don't forget that Cassandra is still around and she needs to either not kill people voluntarily, be bound to not kill people, or we're going to stake her.

And there's the ghost of Jill's case worker (I can't remember her name). Maybe we can use her somehow, bind her to us.
Because I think she's still using Avril's glamour.
>>
>>33280773

Throw a party. Coordinate with Isabella for maximun effects. Invite everyone, except Avril and Jill. The hunter group is welcome, Masami and Esther too, etc.

>Invite everyone
Nah, let's keep it low key and limited to just the Hunters.
We don't want this to be a big social event.
Remember that our charm on Isabella's father still needs time to amass the money needed to clear his debts and build up his fortune again.

You've got a nice empty house and a party to coordinate. Excellent. Best, however, to start a bit smaller. You drop a quick text to Masami, asking if she'd like to bring some DVDs round and watch them on your rather larger plasma TV, and get an enthusiastic yes.

Meanwhile, you start working out what you'll need in order to hold a party in the evening. Snacks and drinks will be easy enough to sort out. Music - you check and note that the speaker system can be hooked up to a laptop. That'll do. What else does a party need? People... well, you'll make a decision on precisely who to invite later on. Still, you know enough people now that you could probably assemble a smallish party just from the people you know well. It's something to keep in mind.

You scan the local news again as you wait for Masami to arrive, with a slightly different focus this time. It doesn't look as though any more mysterious disappearances have been reported over the last few days, although the evacuation might be hiding a few missing people. Still, initial signs are that Cassandra is either holding off for the moment, or has gotten better at covering her tracks. Either way is at least partially a win for you - inquisitive vampire hunters coming to town could have unearthed a lot of other things as well - but she'll still need to be brought to hell sooner or later.

You lean back in your chair, smiling. For once, it looks like things are going your way. You have a week free from parental control. a party to throw, and everything seems to be under control.

Suddenly, there's a knock at the front door.
