MEANWHILE IN WESTEROS...
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/33158397/
WIZARDS!

On a more serious note: you (tony stark, billionaire playboy, philanthropist, inventor, and now WIZARD) and Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic) have used one of your inventions to land in the dimension/universe/world of Westeros. In Particular a location called summerhall. Here you met a Prince (apparently of seven kingdoms) naed Rhaegar. He seems like a nice enough kid and is pretty good at playing the harp.

Currently, he has taught you about the northern land, which is ruled by a family with the last name of Stark. Does this make you the king of Canada? Possibly.

You were just learning about the storm lands which you reside.

"The kingdoms to the South and West are Dorne and the Reach respectively." He says "Dorne is filled with passionate people, they are completely different kingdom apart from the rest of the seven." He says. "Even their politics and rights of ascendance are different. Though their weather is consistently warmer even during the longer winters, like the one my grandfather was fond of talking about that lasted for ten years"

"The Kingdom to the West is the Reach." He says "It has the largest population and it is second largest to the north in size, only instead of a 300 mile long 700 foot high wall it has fertile soil with a large wine market. Which dorne also has too, not the wall mind you just the good wine."

"Rhaegar what can you tell me about science?" Reed asks
> Hold on a second their doctor gumby a 300 mile long 700 foot tall wall? How the hell did that happen?
> Wait- A winter that lasted ten years? What the hell is wrong with your weather?!
> Reed, one step at a time.
> Other.

And here is the quest primer. It shows you what you have available. More will be expanded upon this later.

Excellent point. Hopefully Reed gets it.

"One step at a time Reed. I think you just missed something." You say causing Rhaegar to look over to you.

"First things first, a 300 mile long, 700 foot tall wall? What the hell is it made out of? Why would anyone need a wall that big? What's on the other side?" You say then pausing to breathe.

"Secondly, this just barely piqued my curiosity, but you said a winter that lasted several years are you telling me that seasons pass here in years instead of months? Because if so that implies certain things scientifically that Reed and I need to have a little talk about." You say causing Rhaegar to nod.

"Indeed. The Wall is made ofiIce and stone. It was made by supposedly by Bran the Builder over 8,000 years ago to keep out wildlings and" He looks around as he is about to measure carefully his words "The Others." A wolf howls in the distance after that statement. "Supposedly spells and sorcery protect in addition to the men of the nights watch." Rhaegar says, then picking up his harp again.

"As for the seasons. They do last years in this realm. It is currently near the end of spring" Rhaegar says as he plays his harp.

The pig looks like it's near finished.

"I'm not sure we're at all prepared for whatever this clusterfuck of a dimension is. Maybe we should start that return trip ASAP."

OP, remember your punctuation. It's slipping here and there, and it irritates me into not wanting to read.

Fair enough. I will switch from tablet to laptop if it is that big of a deal.

"Eight thousand years?" You ask Rhaegar who nods his head.

"Our recorded history is fairly far reaching. Many families can trace back their ancestry to mythological figures and others, though if the records are accurate is beyond me." Rhaegar says. "My family came from a different region entirely and conquered Westeros nearly 300 years ago through use of dragons. We came from a different part of the world called Valyria, though now Valyria is in ruins." Rhaegar says in a slightly less enthusiastic voice.

You take note the use of the word 'dragons' and then ask "Hmmm alright, now you said this wall keeps out 'The Others.' What are they?" You ask Rhaegar who once again puts down his harp.

"They are unliving monstrosities borne of Ice and Hate. They wield crystal swords that can shatter any weapon, they have a hatred for all things living, and control over all things dead." Rhaegar says. "There is more to them than that however, I am not sure if I know much more about that subject. That is other than they haven't been seen since the construction of the wall." Rhaegar says a little quietly as if he is trying to change the subject.

>Rhaegar knows something.

> "Reed, buddy, quick wizard huddle."
> Ask Rhaegar more about the politics of the region.
> Ask Rhaegar about what is outside of Westeros.

"Reed buddy, quick wizard huddle." You say causing Mr. Fantastic to walk over to next to you and Rhaegar to look a bit confused.

"Reed. I think we may be a bit out of our depth here. I think we need to get to work on a way back asap." You say causing Reed to raise an eyebrow.

"I thought you left a note and contacted Pepper?" He asks.

"And I thought you contacted someone else as well! The thing is we need to figure out a way back to our dimension if we need to." You say causing Reed to shrug.

"If you have the blueprints for what you made I can help you." Reed says. "However, I contacted Dr. Banner since you work with him frequently. Hopefully he should be in contact with Ms. Potts before too long and he can help get us back. You left a copy of the blue prints and design back at your garage right?" Reed asks causing you to nod.

"Well then really, the best thing we can do is figure out of this place has what we need to build a device to get us back. Because if they don't unless that box of scraps of yours has what it takes, the only thing we can do at this point is wait." Reed says in an unusually calm tone. You sigh.

"Sorry about that Prince, we had to have a brief discussion. Look I am sure that you probably have a lot that you want to know about where we are from too. Reed and I can probably handle most questions you have to ask." You say causing Rhaegar to quirk his shoulder.

"But first-"

> I need to check my inventory and see what I can make with what I have.
> I need to know how much you know about metallurgy and blacksmithing
> Dr. Richards needs to know a bit about this country a little more in certain aspects.
> We need to cut that pig down and get some food in our systems so we can think straight.

Pick two.

Let's go with this.

"First we need some of that pig in our system so we can think straight!" You say as Reed's stomach audibly grumbles. Rhaegar nods and Reed comes over and starts dividing up the hog for food. And he hands you the ribs.

After about a good thirty minutes of eating and harp playing and various jokes you look to Rhaegar. " I need to know what you know about Metallurgy and Blacksmithing, and what the general populace knows about it." You say looking over to Reed who nods and goes through your box of scraps. Sort of while eating.

"Well, I am not the best blacksmith in the Realm ser. I do know that steel can be forged, though the best steel in the world has been lost to the ages. That is Valyrian Steel." He says then pulling out a small dagger which he shows to you. "This is Valyrian Steel." He says then taking a drink of wine.

"Ahh. I think I know what we are dealing with here." You say. "We have this back where I am from too. I think I know a way I can duplicate the effects here in some ways." You say causing Rhaegar to spit out his wine. He then looks at you. "Let me guess, blade is of great quality, and is far superior to other steels and has been known to shatter other blades in combat." You say in a calm tone

""Yes Ser!" He says in a shocked tone.

"Yup. Back where I am from we called Damascus Steel, though essentially it's a specially type of steel with carbon nanotubes in it. It was made from a type of steel called Wootz Steel. Anyways, I think if I have the right tools I can replicate it." You say causing Rhaegar's eyes to widen

"I need to know a few more things though, are you aware of what black powder is?" you ask Rhaegar who shakes his head. "I didn't think so. Reed it looks like we are just at Medieval period before gunpowder. At least that is how technology looks." Reed, who is looking through your tools, nods.

I was not expecting another quest thread of this, tbh.
The sheer amount of hatred the first post got would have dissuaded most QMs
Congrats about sticking to it I guess?
I didn't read the first one, probably wont read any of em, but whatever.

This quest seems pretty fun and I've just been lurking, have a read.

Too bad OP never mentioned the time he would return. I probably won't be there, but oh well.
