Your chest is sore from the Forces blast of earlier, which had shattered several ribs (now healed. Mostly). Rising from the bed is an ordeal, but... It's not that painful, really. You've had worse, mostly from larger people. You step into the second room of the infirmary, Shirtless but still wrapped well in bandages that restrict your movement. Gi'al is sitting up in his bed, hiding without hiding. You've seen the same body language from people that just want to not be noticed. Antemus rises sharply.

"Magnus! You should really not be about. You're still healing."

"I'm fine, Antemus." you smile back at him, waving off his concern. "How are you, Gi'al?"

He launches into a tirade of apologies, eyes closing as he grips the sheets and hunkers down, squeezing into himself.

>It's fine! Really, it's fine. I should be apologizing.
>I should have known better. I'm sorry.
>You should be more careful.
>(Say nothing)

"I'm sorry." you start with, "I should be the one apologizing. I should have known better, and I couldn't help myself. You're... You're very cute when you're asleep." you manage, finding the words harder to say than expected. "So I'll ask again - are you okay?"

"...I'll be fine. Father is speaking with the headmaster." he says quietly. "I am not to be punished."

"It makes sense." Antemus cuts in. "A true breakage of the rules really should only occur when one knowingly breaks them. I witnessed the event, and it was clearly reflexive." Antemus states.

"S-so..." Gi'al says quietly, "Why did you come for me?"

Antemus excuses himself, citing a need to be in classes. Once he's gone...

"Gi'al, can we talk about the other night? What happened? Do you remember anything?"

He shakes his head.
"The last thing I remember was you ranting about circles." he says with a sigh. "After that, we found some wild apples, and..." he shrugs. "I have no idea. Sorry..."

"It's fine." you say, waving it off with exasperation. Alvins aren't known for their tolerance of poisons, so to speak. Small and slim as they are, even their own race is known for very light wines.

Tal enters, tail snapping at the air, holding trays of food.
"Everyone is well! Alive, at the least!" he says, sparkling scales shining. "Am happy. Let us feast, friends!" he says, laying down the trays. Gi'al smiles a little, picking at his food before eating gingerly. You wolf it down, starving.

"Gi'al, you lie. Little lie, but lie." he says, smiling - his voice good-natured.

Gi'al flushes deeply.
"I t-tried to explain how, how dating works, and, I read some books, and I thought it was okay advice." he said.

"Boy said not ready yet. Too sudden." Tal smiles, flicking at Gi'al's forehead, who winces a little.

You feel yourself flush. Was... What?

"W-well, not everyone is alike. He might need more time."

Tal looks away, a little disconsolate-looking.

His tail whips the air.
"...Is okay." he says, leaning back. "Have ideas, anyway." his eyes glitter, and he slips out of his chair, humming to himself as he heads off.

Gi'al sighs once he's gone, picking at his blanket.
"I... Magnus, do you..." he frowns, uncertain, big eyes nervously wide. He pauses, "Did you ever get anywhere with those circles?" he asks.

"I remember even less than you. I had a lot of stuff on my mind all day, it's just..." you sigh. "I was a bit distracted by other things." you look at him with a chuckle, and take a small victory in his flushed face. "So, any thoughts on this?" you ask, handing him the paper.

"Well..." he rubs his chin. "I'm not... sure." he says. "It looks like a magical rune theory. But it doesn't mention an item of any sort..."

The medic was nice and cute, though.

"If my son thinks it's worthwhile..." he says. "Will Details, Secrets, and Scrying work with your intentions?"
"They should. Come with me?"

You lead him back to the dorm room, where Gi'al has pushed around the furniture with Forces to set up the room for more space.

"Then... How do we get started?" Ja'al asks, grinning. There's something about his smile, of remembrance and nostalgia.

"I can see where the cute looks come from." you admit, pacing around the room. Gi'al flushes, and his father's wings flinch. "At any rate, we should get started. Ja'al... What sort of things do you think we should use?"

Shrugs all around, but suggestions rise.

From Ja'al, placing an object into the circle and applying Decay. Attempting this with a circle one foot wide, two feet wide, and so on.

Gi'al agrees on sizes, but thinks that Secrets should be used instead.

Your instincts want to try Details.

You lean down, drawing a circle about a foot wide. Then you have Ja'al draw his rune, and step back.

The shelving, the doors, lids, and one of the washcloths on the counter all vanish when you look through the air directly above the circle. You blink, pushing your hand through, and it, too, vanishes. But looking through that space and seeing what you're seeing...

Now that is interesting.

But more importantly -
"It works!" Gi'al lets out a high squeal of delight, leaping across the space to hug you. For a moment, a fleeting, fleeting moment, you see pale skin, a smooth chest and taut belly, but before you see any more his arms are around your shoulders and his face in your chest.

Ja'al raises his eyebrows and eyes you.

It's the look of a father. One who has seen you before and knows who you were before. Fear, sudden and sharp, overcomes you as you realize that you've met him before, mucking out waste.

You look at him back briefly, then hug him back with care. A simper of pain, but a giggle also rises. You chuckle as you do so, both of you feeling pain and also joy at this relevation. It's amazing. The possibilities yawn out before you like so many different trees, and you grin madly. You feel something surging within you.

You grunt.

Gi'al backs away from you as you feel power rising from within, whimpering. It's painful. It reminds you of something.

But those were old. Now the new, pushing in, elbowing hard, into the forefront.

-new
-new things
-new friends
-from the old
-from the earned
-fed and watered
-by determination
-by the penny and farthing
-scraped and piled
-by the knowledge
-accumulated with time

You smile at Gi'al's father.

"Right." you say. "We've done a lot today." you say, "So... I was wondering. About... things."

You looks up at you. God, those eyes, bright and green. "Basically, I was wondering if you'd like to go out somewhere." you say, looking out the windows. "...But I don't know of anywhere." you grumble. "Nowhere interesting, anyway."

Gi'al looks off, distantly, past you.
"You should pr-probably understand something." he says, "And that's that... I... Well..." he groans. "Oh for the sake of Coyo, daddy." he grumbles, pointing past you.

The good news is, by disallowing write-in, the QM can at least ensure that if the trolls want a trainwreck, it'll be a FUN trainwreck for him too.

The problem is, it's boring to have only options that lead to naught but victory. And these sorts of actions are in-character: Magnus is supposed to be greedy, it's how he grew up and stayed alive.

I don't mind options that lead to failure, but don't include ones that are extremely obvious about it. The results are either that players ignore them (because they actually care about the game at all and don't want to actively fuck themselves over) or that trolls all jump on them (because they want to ruin things).

This once, sure, whatever, but pls.
>>
>>33193850
This is no way to make an antagonist. If anything, Gi'al would know we're lying, and not press it because he can tell it's a sore subject.

And while I do understand your argument, nothing but the bad option is even less entertaining, especially because of the motives behind the votes.

This is worse than stupidity, this is malice.

Like I'd say at this point we like him on a level beyond wanting him, it's more that we're not sure whether we want "fuckbuddy" or "boyfriend".

And in either case, your audience is gonna vote to be a cheating bastard the earliest opportunity they can get.

Haha, little do the trolls realize, they've chosen the path of straightforward honesty Gigi can respect!

Then they get bird shota lewds. It can't lose

It could just be that he's looking for something more serious right now.

In which case, they'll probably choose the most asshole response possible to that, completely disregarding that he can break every bone in both our bodies.
>>
"...I'll be honest. I'm not entirely certain." you manage. "I just... I can't be sure."

Gi'al considers that for a moment.
"Then neither am I." he admits, shrugging, approaching you. He leans against you, resting his head on your shoulder. "But we can find out together." he smirks. "Besides, we've so much experimenting to do. So many things to try. So much to discover. And rune research and bootlegging to do, as well." he chuckles, "And... There's a certain lure about you anyway." he nuzzles against you happily, closing his eyes.

No one opens the door.

No one stands, silhouetted in the light upstairs.

No one interrupts or breaks the moment.

For a glorious minute and a half, you simply hold him, feeling his soft, fluffy hair in one hand, his soft breathing against your chest, the weight of him leaning against you.

And then you part, and Gi'al nods.
"Get something to eat. I have to go study." he says with a smile, those bright eyes shining at you as he goes.

>Go to the mess.

Is there even a way to get birdshota to separate lust and romance?

Do you think his dick is as shiny as the rest of him?

Birdshota probably has a fluffy dick. The fluffiest, even.
