It was late in 343.M41 before we reached Farness Beta. By then, war was bifurcating the Cadia subsector, and armies of sheer horror were spewing out of the Eye of Terror. Like a whirlpool of fire, the Eye dominated the skies of most gate-worlds, distended and angry, flaring more savagely than at any time in living memory. Every flash and pulse of its maelstrom was another warp hole opening, another flotilla of death unleashed. That spring was known as the Staunch Holding of the Cadian Gate, and entered the history books, as every scholar knows. During the first months of 343, the Cadians saw off the greatest incursion of Chaos suffered in three hundred years. It was almost as if the Archenemy knew something. This isn't going to be easy. My new allies, Ghosts of Retribution, proved to be both resourceful and reliable. I hope that elite Astartes attachment they agreed to send with me will be enough to deal with whatever horrors Quixos holds up his sleeve. I am especially glad that their Chapter Master decided to come with us. He is a very peculiar, completely not like the others of his kind that I have dealt with. He seems to be quite sentimental and thoughtful, but nonetheless he appears to be extremely capable and thinks on a larger scale than just killing his target. Sorry, wrong wording. Enemy loses 800, leaving around 2200 heretics defending the base. As you now outnumber them 4:1, your fast moving units grab extra d10% of the base.

You are pretty sure that these cooling towers are used to power various factories and workshops. You sent a few servoskulls down the pipes, they found a narrow passage behind the enemy lines, very close to the core of the whole base. However only a very small group could get through - if you will start pouring soldiers into it en masse, enemy will soon notice it and slaughter all of you.

Flood enemy controlled regions with as much oxygen as possible, if we can reach 80-90% enrichment they wouldn't even notice until they start getting dizzy after a couple of hours. Eventually one of them will light an iho or something, at which point all the oxygen ignites causing nasty burns.
Then all outside pressure disappears and their lungs collapse.

Lodiar the Screamer was one of the three unholy mystics, who have appeared in the Inquisitorial records around year 310.M41 in the Gothic Sector. He wasn't old, but he already had blood of countless thousands on his hands. He specialized in screaming so loud, that his enemies simply burst into bloody chunks of meat, hence the name. While he wasn't greatest of the psykers gathered on Farness Beta, he clearly was above others on the sanity scale. This and his loyalty to the cause, urged Quixos to send him to delay the Ghosts of Retribution in order to buy time. Lodiar accepted with pleasure, it wasn't often that Master Quixos allowed him to roam freely. It was supposed to be easy. Find the mortal hero, then sing him a song. After that, clean out the corridors of the wretched Imperial Guard. Simple and easy. But the trap was perfect. Lodiar didn't sense, nor hear how the Distaff surrounded him from all sides and unleashed their negative psi fields. This was something absolutely new and shocking to him. For the first time since he discovered his powers back when he was a teenager, Lodiar felt helpless. His voice no longer carried power, his mind no longer wandered the warp. Only a mere whisper of former power was left in presence of these... These abominations! Lodiar screamed, but he screamed in human voice, out of disgust and horror.

Then, a mortal hero, a real giant, appeared from behind the rows of Distaff.
