You are Anthony Grant, Ambrosis the level 40 cleric, and leader of the 1st Panzer Division, although you have yet to actually form a guild, so your position as leader is more symbolic than factual. Tabula takes in a deep breath and announces, “I'm going to need forty-two stacks of iron bars, two stacks of dragon metal, a stack of powdered lead, a stack of lead bars, and...!” He lets out a very long and exaggerated sigh. “Two stacks of bottled vitriol!”

You turn to Lilac. “Bottled vitriol?” You ask, “Did your car run on rage or something?”

A not-so-familiar voice calls out behind you, “I'm glad you asked!”

You turn around to see a Race of Ritual in a while lab-coat with Frankenstien above his head. Next to him stands his curvy assistant Emm.

“You see,” Explains the RoR, “In the game Vitriol is a powerful acid potion which deals two thousand damage of acid damage per bottle, but!” He points to the stone ceiling. “But! Vitriol is also the old English word for sulfuric acid!” His heroic pose deflates into a more thoughtful one, placing his finger on his chin. “Now, it could have been a naming coincidence, but after a couple of experiments it appeared to be sulfuric, or possibly a chemical that reacts exactly like sulfuric acid. One thing we know for sure is that it does act as the electrolyte in our lead-acid batteries.”

Emm hugs the lab-coat clad alchemist. “My buh-babe is so smart!”

“Yeah?” The RoR responds.

“Yeah!”

“Yeah?”

“YEAH!”

Lilac shakes her head, “They're doing it again.”

The two <49erS> begin to kiss one another while making very cutesie kissing noises. It is disgusting.

“I think...” Lilac begins, “I think they're secretly trying to drive me insane.”
>>
>>33131557
“Ignore them.” Tabula advises, “It's better for your health.”

You had no time for this nonsense, you had a land-galleon to build! “Let's get to work!” You shout, “What should we start on first!?”

Both Lilac and Tabula speak at the same time, but say different things.

“The frame.” Says Lilac.

“The treads.” Tabula says.

Lilac stares at the manly elf for a while before asking, “Why would we build the treads first?”

“Because you need to build it from the bottom up.” He responds. “Why would we build the frame first? We'd need to find a way to keep it suspended in the air! It'd take more time that way.”

“We need the frame first because if any calculations are off we won't know about it until we try to attach it to the frame!”

Tabula furrowed his bow. He did not seem to believe her. “Emmy!” He asks the lip-locked mage behind him, “What do you think?”

“I think!” She responds, “My buh-babe needs more kissies!” The scientist and assistant continue to go about their antics.

“I don't know why I even asked.” Tabula comments.

"Could we design the compartments more efficiently?

First of all, our living conditions pretty much suck, but we could ease things by dividing the bunks little cubicles that give crewmembers some privacy. It shouldn't add much weight.

Secondly, the weapon systems should be organized for efficient commanding and reloading. Ammo should be readily available by pulleys or something, and different weapon decks should have the capacity to be commanded individually so as to prevent confusing orders of "FIRE!" in the heat of battle. At the same time, each weapons system should have minimum staff and possibly be automated in firing and reloaded."

My suggested weapons:

Ballista in turrets.
Cannons arranged along the broadsides like an old galleon.
A rocket barrage system.

Also, a contingent of marines to counter boarding parties, probably lead by Judi.

> I personally could care less about our brother
Ambrosis does. That's the entire reason that the group is in the middle of the damn desert. It's a shame that TinyShep tried to throw in some character development for Lilac that got hijacked by the lever idiots.
>>
Can we have guns that shoot guns that shoot swords?
>>
>>33132131

Hey, we got landships out of it, so I'm not complaining.

Unless you're talking about a different incident with Lilac.
>>
>>33132175
Can the swords have sword lasers too?
>>
>>33132065
What I don't like about Vertigo is how he not only isn't proactive (a damsel in distress, basically), but he also lacks common sense. Character development could change both of those things, so maybe the next time we see him he'll actually be competent. Just have him actually solve a problem or two. Like maybe he helps some noobie Adventurers out who are trapped in a lander village surrounded by high level monsters. That might give him some likability.

>>33132112
If King doesn't buy/steal two bottles of the appearance change potion by the end of this quest, I will be severely disappointed.

>>33132131
To be fair to the Morning Stars, you could see the memory loss as a personality rewrite. After they die enough times, they'll forget about it being a game and treat PCs and NPCs with respect.

However, I think most PKers are currently ready to repent.
>>
>>33132065
Players hating Vertigo is more about disliking anything that interferes with their dream of making some sort of steam-powered empire. It doesn't have much to do with your writing.
The big hullabaloo about the King in Iron and all that jazz was entirely your fuck-up, but it didn't really impact the current situation of the players not caring about the actual characters or story.
>>33132188
This whole land-ship thing was originally about Lilac proving to us and herself that she was an engineer. Then the players acted like assholes then got upset when their acting like assholes pissed off Lilac. Initially the idea seemed to be we'd then be able to take our new faster mode of transportation to reach the brother faster.
>>
I can't wait until we make a steampunk magitech empire.
Even if we'll probably get killed by a fucking clown.

“The frame does seem important.” You say, “I'm going with Lilac on this one. She is a real engineer, after all.”

“Thank you.” Lilac responds.

Crates of metal are soon carted in front of you each one is forced open by the might of your Adventurer muscles. A sea of ingots and plates and powders. It is a treasure trove of materials, all in the name of your soon to be land-ship.

You clap your hands twice. “Let's get started!” You shout, “Get these bars made into bigger bars! Longer bars! Then make them arch a little. You know, for the part where it...” Your overseeing of the project doesn't seem to be going over well. You've already forgotten how the frame is supposed to be built. “Someone hand me the blueprints!”

Your orders are completely unheeded. The 49erS seem to be waiting on Tabula to give the orders. The hell is going on?

“Scribes!” Tabula commands, “Get me twenty copies of this!” He holds out the blueprints. “Blacksmiths on me, engineers on...!” He turns to look at Emm and Frankenstien. After a couple of seconds he points to you. “Engineers on Ambrosis.”

Some young man named FeltTip comes running up to Tabula, taking the blueprint you and Lilac worked so hard on, before vanishing behind a wall of crates.

Before you can even raise alarm, a swarm of characters crowd around you.

[ ] “Lilac! Stop that FeltTip!” Get Lilac to chase down the scribe.
[ ] “All engineers on Lilac!” Chase after the scribe yourself. Have Lilac build the ship.
[ ] “Hey Lilac, come help me engineer this thing!” Ignore the scribe, allow ship building to start.
[ ] “Get that fuckin' blueprint!” Both of you and Lilac try to catch the scribe.

If they're going to take our blueprints like that we're going to have to alter the design a tad and have a few areas where we can build our own customized changes ourselves. I think ambrose might be too stupid for that though and it would be hard to conspire towards that while it's being built but we can have a convo with Lilac about it later.
The main thing to do is make sure we can alter parts of the general layout so that people used to the tanks coming afterwards wont automatically know where our stuff is.

Oh and add a few of the more important pcs to our friend list AFTER we make sure our group is on it. It'll be a good source of random advice and they might want info about what we see.

If we add a bunch of other people to it before Judi she might think we don't like her very much. Explaining to judi that we're adding her and everyone else first because it feels weird to add random people before her could go a long way,

A horde of scribes go running after the young man, all carrying inkwells and feather pens. It is quite a site to see such a large guild having such well managed chaos. “Lilac!” You call out, “Help me engineer this thing!”

You take a moment to look at all the people around you. HiggltyPigglty, a pirate who seems to be refusing to wear pants. SousBous, a tiny dwarven guardian that looks like he set his height as low as it would go. Smorgasbord, a foxtail sorcerer that is dressed in all the colors of the rainbow. LittleDiggler, another dwarf guardian, who has a Hitler mustache. It was at that point you stopped trying to read names. As far as you were concerned, everyone was named Bob at this point.

Lilac suddenly emerges from the forest of names and bodies, entering into the center of the group with you. “You called?” She asks.

“Yeah.” You respond, “What should we get to work on first?”

“Well, until the blacksmiths are done making the parts of the frame, we should start getting to work on making all the gears. We'll need.” She stops in thought for a while, “Does anyone have a pen and paper?”

SousBous shouts at the top of his lungs, “SCRIBE!”

Then a shadow is cast over the group. All the <49erS> around you take a step back, but you have no idea why. Then a dark figure in all black falls in front of you and Lilac. A black cloak covers and obscures his body. His face is covered by a black helmet, except for his mouth. “I am...!” He speaks, “BATSCRIBE!”

You look up to see BatScribe and <49erS> floating above his head. This guild was quite silly.
>>
>>33133741
You look over to see Lilac's reaction to this, only to see that she too is looking to see your reaction. The two of you look back to the caped clerk. Lilac is the first to speak, “That's... quite an entrance.”

“DICTATE TO ME!” He shouts, making a painfully warped reference.

“Uhhh...” Lilac looks to you, then back to BatScribe, “We'll need twelve 30-tooth gears, four 24-tooth gears, six 12-tooth gears, eight belt gears, and four belts.”

The sorceress looks to you. You nod in agreement because you can't even remember and it sounded legit. Lilac turns back to the not-Bat Man and asks, “Did you get all that?”

He holds out a sheet of paper with everything she said written on it. “I'm not the scribe you deserve...” He says, “But I'm the scribe you need!”

“You're going to keep doing that, aren't you?” Lilac asks.

He silently stares at her.

“Okay. Fine.” Lilac says after a while. She then points out a bunch of the Bobs, “You, you, and you. Start working on the 30-tooth gears. That's four for each of you. You. Get me the four 24-tooths. You and you, get me three 12-tooths. You two get me four belt gears each. You, get me the four belts.” The crowd quickly disperses, everyone going off to do their own task. “Huh. That was simpler than I thought it would be.” She looks down to the paper, then up to you. “Well, since there are no jobs for us left, want to go grab an early lunch?”

[ ] “What's the point of being a boss if you can't take an early lunch?” Go to lunch with Lilac.
[ ] “Nah. I think I'll stay here and oversee some things.” Stay and oversee parts construction.
[ ] “Do you seriously only talk in Bat Man quotes?” Inquire about BatScribe.

I prefer Lilac to Judi, but I can't bring myself to care too much about the two.

Well to each their own.
Personally I love Judi and her references.
And, come on, she was literally killing herself to help us before.
Give the lady some credit.
>>

Which harem anime are you watching that are giving you the idea that social skills are prerequisite?

Ambrosis has actually shown himself to be fairly good with people whenever he's not being autistic as hell. His interactions with Judi and Lilac have had good and bad parts.
>>

>I find Judi a bit boring, and she doesn't jive well at all with the whole "steam tank" plan.

She dual wields matchlock pistols. Are you REALLY sure we can't overskill that or use her in some way?
>>
>>33134862
>she was literally killing herself
No, she was using her life points as a resource. Which, from her and Ambrosis's point of view, isn't actually life-threatening.
>>
>>33134891
>>33134837
Did you miss the part where she was off-put by the idea of putting weapons on the steam tank?
>>
>>33134891
>She dual wields matchlock pistols
She wields throwing daggers.

Trove is the one with the matchlock, and even then it's not apart of his equipment so much as it's part of his attack animation for the pirate equivalent of an Ace move, hence why he has to stand there and reload the gun whenever he shoots.

Still writing.

I have hopes that this quest will be better than a generic harem anime.

To me, your statements prove that a Lilac or Judy route is possible, not both at the same time.

If you think a harem route is plausible, then feel free to think that. Everyone's entitled to their opinions.

“What's the point of being a boss if you can't take an early lunch?” You reply.

“Exactly!” Lilac says.

“WHERE WILL WE LUNCH!?” BatScribe shouts.

You and Lilac simply turn to him and just shake your heads.

“No.” You say.

“No.” Lilac agrees.

“O-Okay.” He responds, a bit downtrodden. He scurries up some of the crates and vanishes from site.

The two of you travel up the stairs, all the while making light conversation.

“Did they really let a guy who is named after Hitler join their guild?” Lilac asks.

“Yeah, I don't know. I stopped asking questions after I saw him.” You say, “He's probably some thirteen year old who thought he was being edgy and cool and now he's stuck with as dwarf-Hitler until we get out of here.”

“I think everyone in that guild is insane.”

“Nah. Not everyone. Tabula's cool. He's a blacksmith. Like, a real life blacksmith. Oh, he also got his ass kicked by a nun in a bar fight.”

“What?”

“Yeah! Someone wanted to start some shit and then someone punched the nun, then everyone started punching each other, and then the nun... I don't quite remember, but she kicked Tabula's ass cause she knew kung-fu. She was a kung-fu nun.”

“Ah, of course, not your everyday, run of the mill nun!”

“Nah, normal nuns can't kick anyone's ass, but kung-fu nuns? They kick twice as much ass as normal kung-fu practitioners. It's the law.”

“The kung-fu law. Subsection C, all members of the clergy who practice kung-fu must have superior ability to non-clergy practitioners.”

You have a short giggle. “I didn't know you knew kung-fu law.”

“Oh, yeah. When I first went to college I studied kung-fu prelaw. I only switched to engineering because I heard people weren't looking for kung-fu lawyers anymore.”

The two of you look at each other and can't help cracking up. What the hell were you two even talking about?
>>
>>33135737
The two of you soon exit the boulder and enter the rays of the afternoon sun. Heading to the inn, you both take a seat. “Bread and a boozestrosity!” You shout.

“No!” Lilac shouts as well, “He'll have tea and I'll have the same!”

“The hell are you doing?” You ask.

“You're on the job. You don't get drunk when you're on the job.”

“I won't get drunk per se.”

“Any level of intoxication is bad on site.”

“You obviously don't know anything about programmers.”

She furrows her brow. You fold your arms, refusing to back down. The two of you are locked into a battle of angry looks and silence, neither backing down, each putting on a face more and more angry until the faces become so exaggerated all rage is replaced with hilarity.

“What the hells was that!?” You shout between laughs, “You're all, Errrrrg!” You squirt one eye, keep the other wide open, and show part of your teeth.

“Yeah! And you were GRRRR!” She scrunches her face, her nostrils flared, her hands on the sides of her mouth to pulling the sides down. “MAXIMUM FROWNAGE!”

The two of you just start laughing again. A waitress walks over and places two loves of bread, two cups, and a pot of tea in front of you.

Lilac pours you and herself some tea before she begins to nibble on her bread. “I miss the cactus fruit.” She says.

“Yeah. We should go farm some more monsters on our way to Big Apple.” You respond before taking a big bite out of the bread. It tastes as bland and mushy as always, but you're gotten used to it; not really, but you feel that if you tell yourself that enough times maybe it will be true.
>>
>>33135760
“So I think I forgot to ask, but...” Lilac says, “What do you think about Judi?”

You really didn't want this conversation right now. You had no idea how to feel about anyone at this point. First you liked Lilac, then you hated her, then you were okay with her again, now she's asking how you feel about Judi? No. You're changing the subject right now.

“So, you worked as a weapons engineer, right?”

“Uhh...” Lilac responds.

“Well, how would you make a missile? You saw that cat guy with the flying garbage can, right? Well, can't we strap a bunch of damage potions to that?”

“Oh! Me and Frankenstien were talking about that before. He helped supply Fluffles with the fire pots he used to power the rocket. Well, from their tests the potions CAN act as a propellant, but there is a big problem with the weight to power ratio is... well, you would need one flame potions to move two flame potions twenty yards.”

“So what you're telling me is...” You think aloud, “If we have 300 fire potions, we can use 100 as fuel to launch a 200 potion missile 20 yards!”

“Technically no because you also need to take into account the weight of the thing housing the potions, but what I was trying to get at is that missiles aren't very effective here. At least, not fire potions as a propellant. Not to mention without us being able to make a guidance system they'd go everywhere.”

“Ah. So if we use 200 as fuel, then...”

“How about we get away from missiles and talk about something more aimable.”

[ ] “What about a catapult that can launch a big bag of flame potions!” Catapults.
[ ] “What about we take a big tube, a bunch of flame potions, and make a giant flame thrower!” Flamethrower.

What we should do:

>Have railgun ballistas on turrets fore and aft.
>Four to six cannons on each broadside
>two harpoon turrets on the bow that double as anchors and means of getting out of mud
>unit of marines made up of guardians and swashbucklers, maybe about five in number

I do want a flamethrower, but I'd rather have that be put in its own dedicated landship for safety reasons.

I also want a main battle tank too, so you flamenwerferfags won't be the only ones waiting.
>>
>>33136418
We need to have the parts made and put em together ourselves to disguise things. The railguns can be a surprise weapon for anyone that looks at our blueprints and thinks we have defenses they can get past.
we also need maintenance kits but idk if we'd know to get one in character.
>>
>>33136502
>the turrets are designed to pop out of the lower deck

This is actually a great idea for four reasons:
1. It hides them, obviously.
2. It allows the gunners to escape to safety if the railguns themselves are targeted or in danger of being overrun
3. It allows the railguns to gain more ammunition without sending a powder monkey down below the decks. Let's us have everyone fighting and nobody acting as go-betweens for ammo.
4. When the railguns are not in use, there is more space on the upper deck.

So basically the turret has a hand crank system that elevates it and it's normally on the second deck.
>>
>>33136639
Oh, and the hand crank also moves a pair of doors to shut above the turret once it's below the deck.
>>
So, erm, how are we going to handle recruitment?
Ask if there are people who'd want to join in on getting to the next city safely?
Get some landers to handle the work?
>>
>>33136887
We ask them of course!

And if they say no we run them over!
>>
>>33136887
I'd go around and ask for guardians, summoners, swashbucklers, and people with sailor or engineer subclasses.

Say we're started a new guild based around landships.

I bet you'll have plenty of people interested. Especially if we ask the PKers.

“What if we use your lightning magic to power a rail gun!” You shout.

“What?” She responds.

“Yeah! We use all your crazy magnets and such to … you know... rail gun... stuff.”

“We won't have the power for that.”

“But what about your lightning!”

“Lightning isn't a steady stream of power that a rail gun would require.”

“But what about the batteries!?”

“They're just car batteries! Even if the thing drained all of them at once we probably wouldn't have the power requirements!” She calms down a bit, “Well, no, that's not true. It would work, technically, but I doubt the armature would even reach a very useful speed. I mean, modern battleships have to divert power from their engines to power these things! You can't just throw on a bunch of lead-acid batteries and call it good!”

“So... you can't make it?”

“I know the basics, but I didn't join Velocitas Eradico, so my knowledge is purely theoretical.” She pauses for a moment, “That's not even the problem! We don't have the power to actually power it! Not to mention it would probably destroy itself. The amount of friction those things make are just...” She waggles her hands. You assume she means something along the lines of having a lot of friction.

“So... No rail gun?”

She shakes her head. “No. Not unless you have a nuclear reactor in your back pocket.”

“It takes that much to power one!?”

“No, but you get what I mean, right? The amount of power required to fire one is beyond us, even with lightning magic.”

“But if you were level 90...!”

“Stop. No. Give me another idea.”
>>
>>33137056
“Okay, well, what if we go with cannons! Cannons powered by fire potions instead of gunpowder!”

She taps her finger on her lips. “A liquid fueled cannon.” She pauses for a while. “Liquid propellants have a tendency to be unpredictable, but theoretically it could work.”

“So that's a yes? We can have cannons?”

“It's a maybe. I'd need to test things first.”

You take another bite out of your bread. “Good enough for me.”

Lilac seems to be doing calculations in her head. You remember that feel. Back when you were trying to wrap your head around A* pathfinding. There has to be a way to make it more efficient, though, but how? You think of the different mathematical properties of moving along a grid and how one can cheat the system, as it were. If only there was a way to get around reordering the list. Your eyes wander up to Lilac's name and that is when you notice the <Sweet Cake> above her head. A guild? Oh shit! You still haven't formed a guild yet! Would Lilac even join? Would anyone even join?

“We should probably head back to the <49erS>.” You say, “Crafting a bunch of gears can't take that long.”

Lilac's thought bubble bursts. “Huh? Wha-? Oh! Yeah. Let's get going.”

The two of you stand up, toss a few gold on the table and head out the door. You both make the long trudge down the stairs again, this time you do not talk as you are too busy thinking about guild logistics. If you're going to invite people to this guild it will need to be perfect. A hierarchy? Maybe everyone's all the same. A communist state? Do communists have a hierarchy? They have to! You can't not. So if you can't not, how are you going to set up your own hierarchy? Maybe have everyone you know now at the top. A mystical panzer council. Below you guys would be captains? Will you ever have that many land-ships? Normal officers below them, and then the privates at the bottom. You smirk. “Privates.”

“Huh?” Lilac asks.

“Nothing.” You quickly respond, “I was just thinking about some stuff is all.”

“Okay.” She says before going silent again.

How are you going to get enough materials to make all the land-ships? Maybe you could steal the entire <49erS>'s inventory? Nah. That would be immoral.

The two of you reach the bottom of the stairs. The warehouse sprawls out before you, just as before, but this time there is a large area in the center which is now cleared of crates and in their place is the large metal bones of what will be the Manifest Destiny. You can feel your dream land-ship taking form.

The swarm of Bobs crowd around you and Lilac once again, one of the handing each of you a copy of the blueprints. You look it over. Everything seems to be in order, at least as far as you can remember.
>>
>>33138556
“Alright, what's next?” You ask.

“We need to put the frame together.” Lilac responds.

“Of course! The most important part of building something. The building … part.”

“Alright!” Lilac claps her hands. “Let's get the parts up on pulleys. We'll need to put it together and then weld it in place!”

The Bobs go rushing off, slowly but surely hooking up a system of pulleys and lift each of the iron beams into place.

“Hey.” You hear Tabula behind you. You turn to face him and the elf summoner continues. “The boss wants to see you both.” He motions over to a room overlooking the entire floor.

In your mind you couldn't help but imagine him as some kind of gangster when he mentioned 'The boss.' “What's he want to see us about?” You ask.

“Invitations.” He responds.
>>
>>33138574
You and Lilac look to each other. After a shrug you both head up some stairs to an overhanging floor where you see a door with the words “The Boss” on it.

Tabula opens the door to the office and ushers the two of you inside.

Inside is a sparsely decorated room. Only a potted plant on a desk and the large window overlooking the storage room. In front of the desk stood two chairs and behind the desk was one chair which was being sat on by the elf LastDerogation.

“Here the are, Fin.” Tabula says to the man behind the desk.

The elf tossed aside his long flowing scarf and motioned to the two chairs. “Please sit.”

The two of you sit in short order.

“So,” You ask, “What's this about?”

“Two invitations.” Derogation responds. “As the technical winner and real winner of the competition it is my pleasure to invite the two of you to our most illustrious guild: The <49erS>, international production guild and over all greatest bunch of guys you will ever know.”

“Actually, I was thinking of making my own guild.” You say, “But our guilds could be allies if you want.”

Lilac nods in agreement. “I also would rather not.”

The elf nods. “I know what you're getting at.” He reaches into his magic bag and pulls out a colorful hat made up hard angled, colorful crystals. “You drive a hard bargain, but how about I throw in a festive bismuth hat?”

“No.” Lilac responds instantly.

You, however, take a couple of seconds to think it over. It was a REALLY fancy hat! And it was BISMUTH! BISMUTH! FUCK YEAH!

But Panzers! PANZERS! Panzers are more important. You know this in your heart.

“No. I'm sorry.” You finally say, “Not even a bismuth hat will be enough for me.”

“Alright.” The elf says, putting the hat back into his inventory.

You and Lilac get up, seeing as your business is done here.

“Hold on.” Derogation says, “I said two invitations. Two for each of you.” He tosses the two of you an enclosed envelope with a red wax seal.

You stare at the seal, seeing lines heading towards a setting sun. “What am I looking at?” You ask.

“The seal of the King of Misvert.” Lilac says.

Misvert sounded very familiar to you, but you're not quite sure where you heard it from. “And he is...?”

“The king of the area we're in.” Lilac informs you.

“Of course!” You shout, “Why do we have this?”

“No idea!” Final responds, “Some secret ninja messenger just showed up, you know, as the Misvert do, and he tells me to hand it to the winner of the race. Now, I must admit, I am not one-hundred percent sure which winner he is talking about, so I'm giving it to both of you.”

The two of you look at each other before breaking the seal and opening the letter.

To the winner of the Adventurer travel competition,

You are hereby invited to Castle Sunset to bask in the glorious luminosity of his majesty King Aubron where you may find conversation with him grand and splendorous. You shall leave on the north road on the 20th day of 5th month. You will be accompanied by no less than 3 and no more than 5 other people.

Upon reach Castle Sunset you will remove your arms and armor and be escorted into the main hall where you will make light conversation with the council of twelve for three hours. After which you will be lead into to the feasting room where you will feast with the king IN SILENCE. After that you will return to the main hall with the King to converse the reason his Majesty has decided to summon you.

Following this plan is mandatory.

You can't help but laugh at this letter. “Is this guy fucking serious?” You ask, “Castle Sunset? Why don't I just run over to castle rainbows and see if Queen Unicorn wants to play?”

“In the lore, King Aubron is insane.” Lilac points out, “And he also has a legion of fanatical assassins called the Umbra.”

“What level are they?”

“I don't know." Lilac continues, "They've never really shown up in the game to my knowledge.”

You think over your options for a while.

“What's the date?”

Tabula answers, “May 19th.”

“So I'd need to leave tomorrow.” You bite your lip in thought. “And how long until the Manifest Destiny is done?”

“A week. Maybe a week and a half.” Tabula says, “These Adventurer stats make getting work done a lot easier.”

You think some more.

DECISION FOR NEXT TIME:

[ ] “Well, I guess it's better than ninjas that may or may not exist trying to kill me.” Accept the invite.

Hmmm... Assassins or Insane King who we probably shouldn't be giving a landship to...

>Other
>Ask Aideen about King Aubron

Good thing we have a lander around! I'm leaning on denying it, though.

>[X] “Well, I guess it's better than ninjas that may or may not exist trying to kill me.” Accept the invite.
We can leave Canis and Judi behind. If King Coo-coo kidnaps us, at least those two can give him a taste of steam-powered extravagance.

Have we thought about having an ironclad boat that floats down the Mississippi and into the ocean, then back up to New York?
>>
>>33139727
Eh, I'm not really interested in getting nibbled on by fish goblins.

You know, intel is a helluva thing. I agree with this.

She could at the very least tell us how to not make a fool of ourselves.
>>
In all honesty, yeah, I don't want to give someone who's apparently nuts any sort of designs that we came up with here.

>>33139805
She seems more of a commoner.
Seems unlikely to work.
>>
>>33139826
Commoners survive by not pissing off nobility.
>>
>>33139667
convince king to supply us with funding for an army of tanks to take over the country for him, amass an army of adventurers by saying it was a quest, get them all to join you by saying end game rewards, get all the scientists/etc together to build a railgun, mass produce it, attack a city with 2000 fuckhuge railgun tanks from outside the gaurds range, aquire gaurd armor for upper levels of guild, take over server, take over world

is this a good plan?
>>
>>33139795
>>33139700
Agreeing with these, we need more info before we make a rational decision. Alternatively, we could try to run reconnaissance on the castle. We do have an assassin on our team.

It is insane enough and more likely to work.

Ahhh. Where is Titania then?

L-let's not get our hopes on any insane plans until we've seen what the king has to say.

I have a feeling that the Grinning Man is in play.

So, we are going to go and try to out crazy the king?
>>

Of the greatest powers given to adventurers, the most mighty is the party invitation.

D-daito?!

Dunno, but who do you think will be Bottom? My money's on Takeshi.
>>
>>33139901
>>33139930

Well, if you look at MMOs... traditionally, the best way of dealing with world-ending threats and such is to organize a base camp near the threat, then get adventurers and point them all in the direction of said threat. After funneling them through zones of increasing difficulty where they can become more powerful and get more gear, of course.

But since this is more like exploring a magical realm that the Log Horizion game was a gateway to, that might not work real well here.

Lilac is Hermia.

Going with both of these because they are close and not mutually exclusive.
