If I had to guess, the Maeve would be peak traditional IS technology, super maneuverable, armed with a mix of close, mid, and long range armament. The Morgan would probably be full of highly experimental tech, and I'd guess modeled off the Morgan from Ace Combat Zero, maybe with some other niceties.

Performance wise the Maeve has a focus on high speed and high maneuverability. Armor and shields have suffer somewhat but not much thanks to a combination of armor composites and tech borrowed from the US Armies' Power Armor projects.”

They were not in the bus slots as they were suppose to be on display. But we have the Hyperstene area denial missile. The missile is a bit slow but has great rage and the warhead is a polynitrogen base meaning it will the explosion will not only be powerful but last a while, hence the area denial feature. Supposedly great also great for air to ground attacks, so be mindful of collateral damage. The Caledfwlch is an energy projecting longsword to round out the melee option. There was a lance in-development but yet has to have prototypes. And to round out the equipment, they took one of their next-gen ECM pods called Morganite and was able to miniaturize it til it fit into the IS. Albeit at the cost of quite a few Bus slots.

“What about performance? It was sturdy but not exactly the fastest thing around.” you ask.

“Well this is the a new block so it took your data and improved on it. It has good all around performance easily beating out the Rafele IS from France but it may struggle with the more speedy 3rd gens. But with the ECM and the power plant for the IS being quite powerful and focused on the shields, meaning in a firefight the shield will take longer to be taken down and the enemy is less able to get hits. So quite resilient."

Oh and if you guys are wondering bus slots just means a weapon+ammo system or 1 additional equipment slot. So you could have an missile system+ammo or an upgrade. So you can stack up on all guns or upgrades if you want. And the ECM works on the IS sensors meaning they will have to rely far more on their eyes and not their sensors. So no fancy IS super sensors for you.

After all an IS is a lot like a plane fight, maneuvering and thrust is key.” you decide on.

After a bit of time, a group of people enter the hanger lead by a lady in a lab coat and approach you.

I somehow doubt one Japanese test is going to ruin us. Studies are great, but RIGHT now, I think the manuals are quite considerably more important than some test we can probably improve our scores on later.

Learning a language takes some time. Missing a week of hard study, but still almost constantly practicing it won't set us too far back. Losing to the blonde will make us lose face, and then there is the whole slave thing. I'd much rather flunk one test, if it comes to that, than end up an unpaid buttler who lost a fight because he didn't figure out what his robot can do.

Opting to focus on what you know best, you really crackdown on the Maeve instruction manual. Sure your focus means you might have problems helping other students with IS studies and your Japanese will now progress a bit slower for now. You try and cover this up from Ms Yamada and Ms Orimura by not talking too much or asking questions.

You pick up on some really neat stuff that should be possible with the Maeve though. Like with the way the inertial control field and AG engines means you with the right settings could could turn in your own shadow or buffer your weapon's recoil by spiking the inertial field when you fire. Strangely enough Houki helped you quite a bit with Japanese homework and you helped her with math homework. Guess she really took to heart about sticking together. Shame you only got a day to study with Honne and the other girls though, guess this time schedules didn't line up, maybe next time. As the day of the duel approaches tension mount in the classroom. You can't just help feel that smug British smile behind you.

MONDAY. The day of the duel is finally here. After class you head to the stadium, Houki wishes you good luck and departs for the seats. You head to the male changing room, doesn't look to different so you guess they didn't really renovate here sans the sign but it really is empty. You change into this really bizarre two piece. But it at least had the US flag on both the top and bottom. Heading up to the launching area you see Walken and a bit of the support staff there.
