Venom drips from the mouth of the scuttlepede in thick globs, and with every whip of the beast's head ropes of it are sent streaming into the underbrush, fuming with an acrid smoke wherever they land.

For hours now we have ridden through the Wastes, clenched to the back of this awful slick-shelled monster as it clatters and clambers over every obstacle without pause. Of my friends I know nothing, even my ensorcelled pitchfork is behind me now, more distant than even the tower where the Crow-People had kept me until the witch arrived to claim me. All I carry now are the entrusted knife and the black longsword, relic of the same ancients which spawned the Crow-People, and I clench them more tightly for it.

The witch rides atop the skittering creature with seemingly effortless poise, sidesaddle as a proper lady of court, though it is all I can do to remain clinging to the nightmare's bony projections as it speeds across the endless green of the Great Southern Wastes.

A painful jar knocks the wind from my body, and I call to my seeming benefactor, who responds without turning. "Not long now, child. The land will soon begin to change."

Before long, the light begins to fade, and we cross into a nauseous country where little grows save the most stubborn of weeds, and even they seem unhappy to be here.

My eyes rebel from what they are forced to gaze upon, for this place has a great wrongness about it, as though the land itself does not belong of our world. To distract myself, I ask of the fate of the crow-woman and the shieldwork.

"Do not concern yourself with the Crow-People," the witch says gently. "They are useful sometimes, but they were a mistake of the Dragon and have no souls." This response chills me all the more, for well do I remember the awful fate of the Highest of the Crow-People, and the slight that triggered it, and the callousness with which she carried out the act.

Again I fear that I have found myself in company beyond my reckoning, but I swallow the voice of concern, for I keep in mind that the witch's coven seeks to overthrow Adan, and so I do as I must.

It is only now that I fully realize I have no guide for how Shala knew to find me, knew that I could use magic like she, and that these witches may not even know that I was once apprentice to the very wizard they seek to overthrow! I have dwelt in his tower since I was a babe, cleaned his wares, tended his shreep - oh, my poor shreep! All those I have left behind to come to this fell place, how much of it do any of them know?

Yeah, and if you want to talk about the game or anything else Lego-related, I usually lurk in the Lego General thread on /toy/.

And before I forget, this was linked on /toy/ earlier, but if you haven't seen it, it's pretty funny.

Speaking of Mega Bloks being evil.

This quest was great and taming that one show was as metal as Lego can get. Great quest!

A crappy old Canon PowerShot that I got when Circuit City went out of business.

Then last month when I dropped it for the one too many-th time, I found a replacement on eBay that came with a battery, so now I have two batteries and don't have to put up with the inconvenience of having to end a game early because the camera's dead.
