Ah Monsters, or Monstrous Humanoids as some would prefer calling them, are interesting in their own cultures. Each so diverse but able to also work together when they need to, some find that working with other races only boost their already rather decent source of power. We’ve seen Ogres, but when they work with the weaker kobolds they can be more dangerous than ever before. Not because the Kobolds are good at hand-to-hand combat, but because they can make weapons or even use magic the Ogre wouldn’t be able to.

Though that is but one example. The true capability of all races are so varied and so different, that while working together and not being exterminated or attacked by all sorts of other things. They have potential to be so much more than is thought.

Which race though, shall we poke with the magical sticks of fate to lead them in the right direction, Or possibly to a very gory and amusing doom? Who knows, I sure as hell don’t.

A Kobolds: Ah the tiny little reptiles, related to dragons and fairly smart for something so tiny. Their skills are not in physical combat, a few could be bruisers or backstabbers of course, but their talents are in magic and traps. Always fiddling with something or another to figure out better ways to protect their warrens and kin.

B: Gnolls: The Hyena like people have always been very close in manners to their animal friends. Nasty, brutal, thieving, all sorts of other things could be said but one does set out. Their nose for the Slave business, it’s strange to think of this as a good thing. But when your working with people of questionable morals, it is a good working area. Not to mention that once a Slave Trader owns a bit of land to farm, or a mine to dig something. They don’t have to sell them. Their frontal assaults have never been the best but their ambushes have always been top notch.

C: Drow: While one of the fairest of the Monstrous races, their beauty only makes their evil actions seem…worse in a way. Their magic and profound intelligence is more than a little impressive. One of the few things that keeps them from collecting into one pure unit and going to a massive war with most of the surface is their infighting. And boy do they enjoy Infighting.

D: Draconian: Oh sure not many people remember these Dragon like humanoids, a rather sizable beast when compared to normal humans. Most mistake them for Dragonborn or freakishly tall Kobolds. Their skill as front line troops are impressive and most after finding some sort of independence took their skills as soldiers and did as most did in their realm. Became mercenaries, bandits, or something akin to that. A good handful have powerful magical capability but their powers hang in the balance with physical prowess.

E: Suggest one I’ll work something out and think up little things for it.

(Go ahead folks and vote. Also that is just one type of Draconian.)

Seems Drow are the big winners.
----
The world of the Underground is not a kind place, of course with tunnels leading to nearly every little place of the surface. The Drow normally make their homes in large caves, and grow their families from there.

The Family of course, is one of the most important parts of their society. Their powers and possibly abilities are grown from the leader's interest. Of course now all we must do is figure what does the family focus on in their quest for domination.

A: The House Wharen: While focusing on Magic they let others deal with physical matters. Hopefully wizards and sorcerers are enough to hold back plenty.

B: House Pafren: The house of Technology, of course rather odd for such leaders to be interested in such things. They've shown that it can be more than a little useful when they discovered the more effective way to mine.

C: House Ruso: The House of Slavers, not many consider them a true 'Family' but others do when speaking to them. They're powers are well known for 'convincing' others to get to work. Put together with renegade males, females with no families to go back to, or sometimes outcast surface beasts they know just what they do.

D: House Targen: The house of which many of the best fights are born, and trained in. Some are thought to be born of deeper demon blood. They're skills with weaponry give them an advantage of being able to truly Stick it to any of their true rivals.

The house Pafren have one of the most interesting places for their home. In what would be considered an 'open field' to the underground world. The rather open cave with large and rather dull supports had but one path getting in. If an enemy had stepped off this path they would learn the meaning of a Minefield.

The High Tinker of the family, the eldest daughter of the family worked with her technology, her brother worked with his alchemy, and the twin girls who were still children played with their spider pets and alchemist fire bottle. Mostly throwing the bottles at slaves for the joy of watching them burn slowly.

The Matron, Matron Strife Pafren sat on her throne that ticked with slow moving gears thinking of her duties and what she could do to advance from her rather 'low' rank of the Drow totem pole.

A: Invest a few more coins in the work of her daughters technology.
B: Send scouts up to the surface to 'borrow' some new items.
C: Go see what the shops have to offer, with help of a slave and a few spells.
D: Invest in Alchemist supplies and recipes.

B.

Send the scouts up to retrieve valuable we can sell, use the coin to invest in tech and alchemy. we'll have those flame thrower bikes soon enough.

People who speak English will recognize this as a request for 3 d20's, where he will take the best of the three.

Rather than one person rolling all 3, and denying everybody else the chance to roll, it makes more sense to roll one die, and allow 2 other people to roll.

Dipshit.

As the matron goes down she side steps a goblin flying down the hall and into the wall in a burning heap. She looks into the room to see her daughter, having a fair amount of Soot and a few burnt hairs.

"What is it now?" The matron asked as he Daughter pulled the odd looking device up onto the table to present it.

"I call it The Infernal." She said holding up what seemed like a cannon, fairly large as she snapped her fingers and another pair of goblins ran out from holes in the walls to put another smaller one on. One wore it as a backpack with some sort of tubing for another with the actual cannon.

"Infernal...what exactly does it Do?" The matron asked as the goblins grinned, aiming at a third tied to the wall and pulling the little trigger. The bang made the Matron wince lightly and saw that the tied one was a burning corpse. Sadly the firer was throne down and had his arm dislocated. The only goblin that seemed to come out well was the one who was carrying the pack.

"Good work..." The matron said and handed her a sack of coins. "Be sure to make plenty more and to keep their manufacture in house."

The daughter smiled and bowed. "Thank you Mother." She shook the coin sack and went back with the little goblins with a dark grin.

The matron smiled, finding her daughter odd but useful in that way. A male came running with a scroll in his hands, taking it from him. Seemed she was being summoned to her own hall to meet with guests...of course she could keep them waiting...

The Matron walked up the staircase, stepping into the room and seeing her new visitor. Something she did not expect to see. What seemed like a priestess, a human priestess at that.

"Thank you for your grace, great Matron Mother." The Human said in Undercommon. Now she had the matrons attention.

"What is it you want?"

"A chance to give you something Llolth could never dream of giving your house." The woman said, her eyes starting to glow.

"And what is that?" The Matron asked, her hand on the hand crossbow at her side.

"I am a priestess of Tiamat, her children seek refuge in a powerful place. Allow my fellows to hide their treasurers and Tiamat will reward us all."

The matron was not an overly religious woman. She did not hate the Spider Queen but she held no love for her, she leaned against the banister looking down at the priestess and smiled. Finally opening her mouth.

A: Tell me what exactly you need to hide.
B: Kill her, we need no Tiamat in our home.
C: Seek refuge in another location, call on us when you have something of true value.

The basics really. Evil Goddess, Dragons, Duchess of the Nine hells. Some sort of war happened a bit ago between her people and her brothers but didn't effect Drow much. So not many fucks were given.

"You ask us to betray our Patron with mere words as promise. We know little of your "god", or your people, and you would ask us to trust you? You are a fool. Still, you at least know Undercommon. I give you one last chance to make your case."

"Who is Tiamat exactly?" The Matron asked, smiling. The woman seemed to shift a bit as she was standing and held up an amulet.

It was in the shape of the Goddess's symbol. Five heads of different gemstones and metals that seemed to have a magical glow.

"She is the wisest of Dragons. She seeks to free all of her followers and bring her flock together." She started explaining. "With her wayward brother's ideals infecting others we seek to hide her Children and her artifacts here with you. She will reward all who are loyal, with many treasures and many powers."

Interesting...rewards...powers...undercommon. The Priestess realized that the Drow knew what they wanted and needed.
