Slow is our way this last day, as the Great Southern Wastes pulls at our feet and drives clouds of stinging insects against us, beyond even my ability to ward off. Such pests seem not to bother the hill-man Lothar, who no doubt plays host to more dangerous specimens, and he continues muttering in his half-language as he chops through the brush to forge our trail.

James has taken the lead, though whether to keep watch or his distance from me and my foolish tongue I cannot say.

They are terrifying to behold - the heads of beasts atop the bodies of men, and their jet-black eyes glitter with cruelty as they raise their jagged swords at us, croaking words in the tongue of Man! At once it is clear how this young herdsman came to his state, but then their steely unblinking gazes fall on me!

"THE GIRL!"

"WITH THE PITCHFORK!"

"SHE IS THE ONE! THE ONE OUR MASTER SEEKS!"

"BIND HER! DO NOT LET HER ESCAPE!"

The voices shriek in my ears as their swords descend on us!

The stones around me are familiar, and for a moment I stand before I recognize where I have seen this work before - in the ruins of the Forestmen's haunt, which James did say were wrought by the Empire of the Dragon.

Holey moley, that was a fun turn of events!

I guess I should point out that I felt really bad about disregarding that 12 >>33080209
but I have a reason.

Originally there were going to be two ruins of the Dragon Empire around here - a big tower in the water, and a smaller ruined castle in the swamp. The Crow-People were also just going to be a random menace, but then I got an idea, so they decided to kidnap the Apprentice.

Then I suddenly had to build a dungeon really quickly because I didn't have anything prepared.

Anyway, after she broke out, this player >>33079173
made me decide to use this shieldbot I had laying around, so I decided that it would show up as soon as possible to help out.

>>33080188

I make to strike in the one place where men are always weak, but he is too quick, and the iron cuffs have a will of their own, lashing out like a snake and clasping closed around one wrist!

The other end of the chain dances and whips in the air, links straining as it tries to ensnare me fully!

Thanks, anon! It was a last-second idea that worked out really well.

Yeah, last night (this morning) I was just about to fall asleep and thought to myself "that witch needs a horse or something to get around the Wastes". Then the idea for her mount popped into my head, but I had to spend an hour or two this afternoon trying to figure out how to put it together.

Skednan was going to have eyestalks, but then at the last second before I put them on, I saw that SNOT piece and knew it had to be its face. It also originally had six pair of black minifig legs, but that didn't look as good as I'd pictured it.

>>
>>33105797
Ha ha... skitterpede was my other idea!

The original design looked a lot worse. The inverted 2x3 slopes were just 2x3 black bricks, there weren't any lever-spines, the legs were minifig legs, and the greebling was pretty much nonexistent.
