You groan as you sit up, holding your head. A whole barrel of... Cider, you think, hard cider, without any seasoning. Or moderation, either. Even split between three people. You're bleary, and the previous night is foggy, uncertain. You hardly remember much of anything - flashes of pale skin and smooth scale flit across your mind, but nothing rises in detail. You look around, feeling like your chest and neck are sticky and smell of old apples.

You caress your scalp. You're in your dorm, you've a headache like you've only had a few times - wow, that shit is potent - and no one's in sight. Which is good, because you're buck naked.

>Where's Bob?!

You blink yourself awake as you wash up and dress, pondering. In a glass case rests the creature, sputtering air as it sludges about, now about the size of two fists. A note is attatched.

You read the note as you try to recall the previous night, rubbing your forehead. Nothing more springs to mind, though some clarity from the earlier parts of the night spring up. Namely, that you erased all your runes before passing out. Thank Coyo for small favors, for it's all He gives.

You set yourself to work thinking on how to alleviate this damn pain.

You come to the conclusion that your 'ally in white' is hilariously naive, helpful, and likely easy to manipulate. Sitting heavily on the bed, you drink a tall glass of water, deep in thought, when you find a sheet of paper sticking from your bag.

A circle, sloppily drawn on the paper. A sickness rune points at the circle, with various sloppy notes around it.

So sloppy, in fact, as to be illegible. You groan, tossing it aside for now. Bob blurbles at you noisily, more insistent than before, and you toss him a biscuit. Which he leaps up and -

You jump as Bob literally turns into a maw of flat teeth and snaps it out of the air, landing with a loud splat. After a moment, he swells and releases another flatulent sound. He's a little bigger now, as you lay back on the bed. A light knock at your door signals that someone is here.

"It's unlocked. Please be quiet."

"Ah." says the voice from the other end. "I figured you'd need breakfast, Magnus, so I brought you some." he says, from behind the closed door.

Law-boy?
"Why are you here?"

"I just said..."

>No, I mean, why are you tending to me?
>What are you hoping to gain from this?

Also an ass-man. But that's beside the point.

"While your behavior indeed called to mind an obstinate beast of burden, I was no less rude to demand you not go. It was, after all, your own business. I'm merely trying to make amends." Antemus enters, again an emblem of shining cleanliness. White gloves, white suit. He sets the meal on a tray that he sets up near the bed.

"Which is why I would be happy to ask of you - what is it that you have planned for your day, once the hanging-over-"

"Hangover."

"Once the hangover finishes?"

"Well..."

You indicate the creature with your fork and toss him some bacon. He sniffs it, then slurps it up greedily. "Oh." he manages. "Keep it for observation." he says, "I wasn't able to determine what it is, I assumed you made it."

You blink, your fork skittering on the plate a little in shock.
"I'm sorry, what?"

He blinks, rising.
"Ah... I've a meeting I've forgotten!" he says, then leaves in a rush. You watch him go, sliding some egg into your mouth. You don't really have the energy to follow him, so you look back at Bob. Who now sports a single black eyeball.

You blink at it. It blinks back.

You finish your meal, mulling on the possibilities of the thing.

You think for a moment, and roll a hamburger in oats, then wrap in paper. You watch contentedly as it eats the package equal in size to itself, taking huge bites with a maw that is its entire being. Finally, you toss a few chicken bones in, and watch as it feasts upon them happily, eye closing as it flattens in relaxation.

You turn to your equipment in thought, then back to it, and nothing so far has changed. The door opens, and Tal enters.

You awaken to twilight, staring out at darkened skies, but yoiu're fully awake. You've always been a bit nocturnal. The skies are full of stars as always, and you work on your jars as you wake up more fully. You think that Gi'al is probably awake as well, though it can be hard to tell - halfbloods have notoriously odd sleeping habits.
Your sleep did something good - you've been inspired in one way, at least.

Runes are like channels. Power flows along their lines and curves and arcs. As it does so, it deforms the rune, and as soon as the channels fall out of alignment, they break, causing the rune to degrade.

With that in mind, you fully understand your drawing. It's... Well, you don't exactly havce a name for it yet. But you think that if you were to draw it right, you could extend the rune's power and its area o influence quite a bit - making an area affected by a rune.

This is, naturally, quite dangerous to test. You've no idea what such a thing would do.

RUNIC ARRAY BREAKTHROUGH UNLOCKED.

You're bristling with energy, now, grinning from ear to ear. Your fingers twitch in anticipation to test this.

But...

You gently lift the cushion from the top for room, then lean low, and decide to wake him with a kiss.

Big green eyes instantly flutter open, and the look on his face, a mix of anger and fear, makes you instantly regret the decision. What makes you regret it more, though, is the palm that slams into your chest.

Oh. Right. Quarter ogre. You feel a rib crack, and then you feel magic gather in his palm. You don't even have time to gather a defense before those cracks become breaks, and you're launched back, grasping madly at a bookshelf and barely managing to slow your descent as you fall onto your back.

Your world is pain.

You have a moment of perception, before your sight goes out - a concerned and worried Gi'al, and the shouting of Antemus.

...

You awaken in the morning to that young woman you met on your first day.

"Magnus, we should really stop meeting like this." she says with a sigh. "First time it's alcohol poisononing, this time it's from riub fractures. Do you have any idea, any whatsoever, how lucky you are?"

Quick thing here: Ogre strength is based on having unnaturally heightened muscle and bone density for size when emotionally upset, usually about twice as much of what occurs naturally for their mass. In short, like a gimped version of proportional strength, which is triggered by emotional outburst.

Gi'al, however, is afflicted with Ogre Strength and very light bones. The end result is that if he loses his cool, he literally pulls his bones apart due to sudden, catastrophic forces he normally doesn't have access to. This is what happens when you get multiple bloodlines running from a half-breed: Weird shit.

"How's Gi'al?"

"More concerned for your chest than his own shattered arm and shoulder." she rolls her eyes. "The boy was just short of squaking a murder confession before I told him both of you would be fine, and Antemus, bless his heart, has been trying to calm him the entire time. Your chest is going to be sore for a few days, but you're damn lucky to be alive."

You groan, ;aying back. Your chest sings in pain. Well, that was boneheaded. Perhaps one should ask someone out to dinner first.

You get off the bed and try to rise to a stand, only to wince in pain.

"Slowly." the nurse says, and you obey. "It'll take a while for the pain to get away."

>Sit back down and rest.
>Talk to Antemus, in the next room.
>Go find Tal.

Smut needs to be earned you stupid fuck.

It still feels like a really dumb ass pull you yanked out to punish players for not doing as they were told
>>
>>33059238
Tell Gi'al you hate him and exclude him from the bootlegging op.
>>
>>33059272
Even without that, he still has Forces.
>>
>>33059288
Which he should have used instead of the ogre strength you previously established him as not having. You really didn't think this through.

"For the purposes of avoiding future injuries, is there anything you can tell me about my new pet?"

Describe Bob and see if she identifies it as something dangerous that should have killed us.

You kissed someone without their consent, and for all we know he might be straight.

You really have no right to complain.
>>
>>33059304
She's a nurse, not a zoologist you fucking idiot.
>>
>>33059320
I'm honestly okay with the end result, it's just the method Avalon used to get us here that feels like a massive ass pull to me.

Okay, folks, I gotta get some sleep. Standard rules apply, if the threads alive, I'll start again in about 9-10 hours. If not, I'll make a new thread in 12.

so why not have him reflexively use Forces and break us that way, instead of some kind of bullshit that winds up being a hell of a lot worse than ordinary people when adreniline hits
>>
>>33061180
let's go with this
persistence until death
>>
>>33061180
this
easy way to make him less worried about hurting us is to kiss him until he's happy

voting this to make sure of consensus whenever EGO decides to run a full session
>>
>>33070111
He needs to just reopen with the last post to avoid same fags like you. I know I didn't vote since he isn't here
>>
>>33071921
