Six long years have passed since you started learning to control your darkness cosmos with the Witch of Darkness, Medea. During that time, you grew up under Master and Medea becoming a promising young Saint, even though you still hadn’t found your own cloth.

Surprisingly (or not), you didn’t have to leave the Sanctuary to learn magic from Medea. Apparently the Witch the wife of the God of War, Mars, and had permission to work in the Sanctuary, along you.

In those years you were slowly growing into becoming a real Saint, you barely saw a hint of the Pope and never had the opportunity to have that conversation with him. While you were curious about what he had to say, you never felt that you had the opportunity to talk with the Pope, and when you asked Medea, she just told you that “Lord Mars just wants to ask you to fight bravely to save the world, so you better become stronger, Kouga.”

By that time you already knew when to drop something.

Being honest, you still aren’t sure how you feel about Medea. Over the years she slowly took the role of your main teacher, displacing Master who eventually had to leave the Sanctuary for a reason she never fully told you. In the end, all you had were Medea’s painful training methods and her dark arts that you were sure no real Saint should be using, but in a way you liked that.

Most of the time she was never patient in her teachings, and she enjoyed making you suffer both physically and mentally almost to the point of torturing you, but in the end you felt she wanted you to be strong, and maybe that was why some part of you never grew to fully hate the witch.

Medea was the first person to really acknowledge that other half of you. She didn’t reject the darkness you knew since the beginning, instead she asked you to embrace it, to develop it further, to tame it. In the end, you just felt like she was one of the few humans who could understand what it means to have the cosmos of darkness.

Still, you don’t have time to waste thinking, today is your first mission for the Sanctuary, your first mission as a warrior who protects the peace and love of the world.

You are Kouga, a twelve year old Saint of No Star, and right now you are preparing for your first official mission for the Sanctuary. While you still hadn’t found a Cloth to protect you, with the dark power of your right hand you have managed to make the Pope accept you as a Saint, with a rank equal to a Bronze Saint.

Right now you are in some lost corner of Egypt, under orders of the Pope to fix a little problem that no one really wanted to bother to take care of, but you really didn’t care about that, this was your opportunity to prove yourself, and you were going to mess it up.

You want to see what all these years of training really mean in the real world.

“Kouga, stop daydreaming. Child, we don’t have much time to waste here.” Besides you a small crystal ball is floating, the head of your teacher, Medea, is projecting itself. “Kouga, let me ask you for the last time, do you remember your mission or do you want me to go over it again?”

Honestly, you were surprised she wanted to help you like this, most of the time she would just laugh at your mishaps and tell you to get over them, but maybe she really wants your first mission to go well?

Nah, Ms. Medea is not sort of person, she is exactly the soft kind type.

Well, you still had some minutes before you arrive to the base, so maybe you can talk with your teacher?

Stat sheet seems pretty solid. The debuff curse and the curse punch are pretty slick.

The ??? stat seems foreboding, could be Abzus influence but I'm not sure.

If I had to take some guesses, the A????? faction is Athena, and the '?????: 50' is Pallas, though the letters don't line up. I have no idea what the love thing is though. The love thing might end up being Pallas and the ????? could be Sonia, but wouldn't she fit under the same faction as Mars?

Overall looks like a nice place to start.

By the way ???? doesn't have to do with the guy you mentioned, the BS stat is the one that has to do with him.

“Can you go over it, I just want to make sure I got everything right.” You really didn’t need your teacher to help you with this, but it never hurts to make sure again.

Plus, Medea was the type that rarely showed kindness to those she liked, so you learned to treasure those few moments she lowered her guard with you.

“I see, I am glad you can admit you failures boy, a witch has no use for empty pride, boy.” The glowing ball hovers until it floats a few feet from your face, showing Medea’s face in all its beauty.

“Well, let’s go over the facts quickly, a cult of Alchemists has taken over an ancient temple in Egypt and rebelled against the Sanctuary. Using materials from Queen Death Isle they have started mass producing fake Cloths and are planning to take over the country and wage a war against the Sanctuary. Child, your mission as commanded by Lord Mars is to stop these heretics and capture or destroy all the replica cloths. Is that clear?”

“Wait, fake Cloths, how does that even work, and even if they had those cloths they need Saints to wear them.” One of the biggest problems the Sanctuary had in the recent years was finding Saints to fill its rank from the last Holy War that was why Mars had decreed the building of a School for Saints away from the Sanctuary.

If the Sanctuary had a shortage of Saints, who was going to use these fake cloths?

“These fake Cloths are what are known mostly as Black Cloths, they are replicas made through Alchemy of the original Cloths. Unlike the original, these fakes are neither alive nor have their own cosmos, so it wouldn’t be hard to say that these fakes are mere extremely durable armor.” At this point Medea pauses, “But although most of these fakes are of lesser qualities than the original, they still pose a danger to the Sanctuary and must be eliminated.”

“So the Black Cloths are fake eh, and you haven’t told me who is using them, are they training their own Saints?”

“No, they are not. Kouga, I am sure you know that even now there have been many Saints that have failed to meet the requirements to obtain one of the 88 Cloths that represent the Constellations, and that there are Saints who have been excommunicated from the Sanctuary, for they have betrayed the beliefs of the Goddess Athena, right?”

Yes, many weren’t chosen to become an official Saint, but like you many of them just chose to continue to fight even if they had no Cloths.

Seeing that you understand her, your teacher continues, “That type of desperate and pitiful men are the one who joined these Alchemist to produce these fake Cloths, and your job is to stop them. I believe there is nothing more to question.”

So evil Saints who betrayed the sanctuary want to make Black Cloths to get their revenge, and you are the only one who can stop them?

Well, as a note, right now in the timeline, the Steel Cloths are still being worked on orders of Mars, their purpose here is to aid the chosen one to live in the new world of out favorite god plans to make. That being said, the Steel Cloths are better than the crap the mooks of the Sanctuary used to wear in the original series.

“First of all, can you tell me how Alchemy works?”

“Oh, I see someone has been slacking on their studies, sadly this is not the time to remedy that, but I am sure we will find a moment to work on that, right Kouga?” Gulping you just nod at your teacher, as the witch continues, “The basic concept of Alchemy is that it works by breaking down matter and reconstructing it. For example they can break down iron, and with some carbon they can transmute it into steel.”

“So it’s a very material kind of magic, unlike the spiritual surgery we use for our curses, right?”

“Correct, but not quite, the main goal of Alchemy is the transmutation of the goal, to turn the impure soul of a human into something that can match even the gods, but sadly we can’t talk about that right now, so let’s get to what you want to know, how combat alchemy works.” To make a human surpass the gods… How would that even work? “The main gist is that there are basically three types of combat worthy alchemy, so make sure to learn of this.” Medea wiggles her finger at you, as she begins her lecture.

“The first type of Alchemy we must talk about can be referred to as Arms Alchemy,” It still feels weird to see your teacher so happily talk about magic, but sometimes you think Medea is the happiest when she talk about her great passion with you, her student. “Here the alchemy work on steel to craft alchemy weapons, known commonly as Arms Alchemy. Kouga, these weapons often have special mechanisms that give them immense destructive power, so you must be careful with them.” The reason for that was that their designs are based on the holy weapons the Titans used to murder their father Uranos, but that is not important right now.

“Then there are what we can call the minion-users, these Alchemists instead of making weapons with great destructive power, they make minions who they use to fight in their stead. You probably know of the artificial existences known as Homunculi and the Chimeras, so I feel there isn’t much to talk about this type of combat alchemy. Most of these servants are merely puppets controlled by the Alchemist, so go for the controller and I am sure you will deal with this easily enough.” That sounds nice in theory, but something tells you it’s not that simple.

“The Final type of combat Alchemy is the one that transmutes a single element. Most of the time a transmutation of a material takes a long time and very careful preparations, but to shorten that time, some Alchemists have opted to just concentrate on working with a single element. For example an alchemist might specialize in the element of Copper, using its properties to create different weapons and traps to kill you. This sort of Alchemy is very versatile, so you have to be careful Kouga.”

You were getting bored of all this chat about alchemy, so moving on, “Wait can’t we use these Black Cloths for the Sanctuary, I mean we do lack armor for some of the Saints.”

“From what I have read the Sanctuary has tried in the past, but it has never really worked. Most of the time the Saints who wear those black cloths just rebel against the Sanctuary anyway and in time those black cloths have come to be seen as a symbol of rebellion against the Sanctuary. Plus considering how taxing the Holy Wars are on the Sanctuary, there has never been much time for this. But, who knows, if you bring a live alchemist and some good samples I might be able to push something with my husband.”

So the Sanctuary could try to produce Black Cloths, maybe you should try to recover those things intact.

“So finally, how I do this? Any tips on dealing with the Alchemists?”

“I would prefer if you avoiding a head on fight, Kouga. Because recently you have concentrated on my training you are not the most physically-inclined Saint in our force, so it would be prudent to limit your number of battles, just concentrate on finding the Black Cloths, stopping their production and coming back. You can try to curse the whole facility to weaken everyone inside (if you find the time to do this) or you can sneak inside and ghost past your enemies. I might add that direct combat could also work, I made sure to send another Saint to help you, so don’t be afraid to ask for help.”

You feel that Medea is not telling you something, but what is it? Could there be something special about this mystery Saint that will help you?

Still, you aren’t sure you like the sound of another Saint coming to help you, surely you don't need an idiot to come here and bother you, right? But, you don;'t have time to waste on that, right now you are nearing the target site, what do you want to do?

“Wait, before all of this, why are you being this nice, normally you would have just called me incompetent (and made that ahah.wav sound that I hate) and make me look everything up by myself.” The worst part of everything would be that your teacher would laugh behind you with that ahaha laugh all the time while you were forced to look everything up.

“Me?” Medea innocently pointed at herself, “I am sure I would never do that to my best student, aren’t you making this up Kouga?”

“No, I remember last the last time I messed a curse.” Your curse had backfired and damaged one of Medea’s potted roses (the ones she loved to crush herself), “You hexed me back and made me think I was a cat for 10 minutes, and I remember you laughing at me.” It was a really traumatizing experience, but at least you learned that Sonia likes cats… and that she has some nice petting skills.

“I feel that was your fault my slow student, you shouldn’t have allowed you to call for a simple curse like that… but if it makes you feel I am sure you enjoyed how it ended, so you really have no reason to think I will do something bad to you. Please believe me.” She is getting oddly defensive, but a gut feeling tells you that you might want is being nice because she really is going to be mean to you in the future.

You kind of want to push a bit more, but right now you feel you shouldn’t, knowing this witch she will get mean if you corner her too much.
So that leave you with your mission, you first inspect the target area to make sure to know what you are dealing with. The whole complex is some ancient stone temple in the sand, which probably had more entries that you can count and was probably a mess to guard, but the data of the Sanctuary indicated that this stone temple was the main entrance.

From the distance you couldn’t see any traps or guards, so quickly you use the sand dunes as covers until you reach the side of the building. So far you haven’t felt any living thing near you and haven’t found any traps.

Now, this is weird, very weird, why aren’t they protecting this place?

You head from Medea that these guys used humans for their experiments, maybe they left the entrance open to lure people in to experiment on them? No, that would be too dangerous, getting someone lost in these ruins would draw too much attention to them.

A part of you wants to contact your teacher and ask her for instructions, but suddenly you hear some steps. With a quick dash to the side, you hide behind one of the doors to the side as you see a young boy exit the temple.

He looks Asian and totally not evil… but maybe this guy is one of the evil alchemists you have to find? The boy is looking around in the distance and so far he hasn’t noticed you.

A part of you wants to take him down and ask him 'nicely' about this place, but another part of you feels you should avoid him. When you stare at his chest, you feel your right hand burn... it's burning in fear... and excitement? What could that mean?

What do you do?

The boy is distracted and looking into the distance, so you doubt he can detect you. Quickly before he can do anything you silently sneak behind the boy, just like Master taught you so many years ago.

When you tiptoe right behind him, you wrap your hand around his right arm, and toss him against the stone floor of the desert temple. The heavy impact knocks the boy down, leaving you enough time to sneak him away to the corner you were hiding in.

You quickly tie the boy, and plan a small curse on him, and now everything is ready to interrogate him. With a single slap you wake the boy up, “I don’t have a lot of time and the sand is making me desperate, so here is what we are going to do, you talk fast and I don’t chop you up and use you in a dark ritual to summon Satan, are we clear?”

You have to say that your teacher hasn't taught you to summon anything yet, but you are sure you can get creative.

Even though you are covering the boy’s mouth, his nods make it clear he understands you… so what do you want to ask him? [Ask him one question at the time?]

“So this is a research facility, tell me what do you know about the Black Cloths, are they making them here?” You lean in to the boy, trying to stare him as menacing as possible.

“Black Cloths, I am not sure what you mean, we are only researching how to advert Babel here, I don’t know about any Black Cloths? Not really.” You feel he is not being entirely truthful, but that word he mentioned, Babel, you feel that is important too.

You probably should be fast with this and finish soon, if this boy is really a guard then someone is bound to notice he is missing.

Then why hasn’t the world ended? You want to question this boy further, but suddenly you feel a chill behind you.

You don’t think of what could be behind you, you just act. Quickly your cosmos roars, as lightning descends from the heavens and a bright flash and a loud bang cover the entrance to the temple in a single moment.

With some effort, you light the boy with your right hand and jump into the temple as fast as you can, and behind you, you can feel the ground you were standing on explode!

You and the boy roll into the temple, walking past some thin filaments of wire that seemed almost invisible to the naked eye, and hide behind one of the stone doors of the temple.

“Black Tarantula... she’s here?” The boy besides you whispers softly, as you try to peek outside. Your left hand remains over the heart of your hostage, ready to end his life in an instant.

You quickly looks left and right, but all you see are sand dunes, no wait…. In the distance, almost at a 1000 meters, you see a small black from in the distance. It looks like a black spider!

Crawling on all four limbs over the sand, you spy a black figure almost gliding over the sand, its four limbs almost looks like they float over the endless dunes of this dessert. Your new enemy quickly nears the gate, stopping at 500 meters away from you.

The Black Spider stands still in the dessert, almost looking like its waiting for you to do something? Shit, that thing is too far for you to try to use a ranged move, and you feel that it’s faster than you in the sand… so if you came out it would just strafe away from you and snipe you from the distance… what should you do?

If that thing is giving you time to prepare, then you should take it, gathering that primordial energy that belong to you and only you, from your shoulder down your right arms transforms completely. It quickly turns a dark grey and red lines flowing with dark cosmos appear all over it.
